Story
June 15th, 1944. The Allied forces have successfully taken the first steps to liberating Nazi-controlled Europe, with a successful Soviet summer offensive backed by the D-Day landings of France. The final days of the German Third Reich have begun, much to the chagrin of its Fuhrer. Desperate for a means to repel the advancing Allied forces, Hitler turns to the world of fiction, dumping millions of funds into the study of wonder weapons and, more importantly, the paranormal. Commissioning forth dozens of archaeologists, spiritualists and occultists, Hitler wages a secret study into the realm beyond.
Fast forward nearly one year: Germany lies in a state of ruin. Its army is beaten and worn, and the forces of the Soviet Union and the Western Allies have finally met, splitting the country into two. Cities lie in ruins, and savage fighting amidst the streets of Berlin are underway. As Soviet forces close in on the fuhrerbunker, Hitler brings forth one final effort turn the tides of war. Left with only his most radical of staff and a handful of occultists, Hitler commences Operation Unruhigergeist. Forming a number of rituals with ancient recovered artifacts, Hitler succeeds in opening a gateway to another realm. And from this realm, only death came.
Unleashing hordes of demonic hellspawn, Berlin is turned into a bloodbath, with the slaughter of both German and Soviet, soldier and civilian alike. But, amongst these creatures lies an even greater threat. Known only as The Affliction, a mysterious virus is brought upon the human race, infecting and transforming both the living and the dead into mindless, flesh-craving husks, hellbent on spreading the Affliction throughout all of Europe.
By autumn, Germany lies a wasteland, filled with hordes of demons and the walking dead. The remaining forces of Germany, now scattered and leaderless, align themselves the Allied forces, creating the Unified Allied Powers. Seeking to halt the demonic infestation, the UAP fields a militia of both soldier and civilian, former enemies turned comrades in arms. With the fate of Europe, and the rest of the world, hanging in the balance, it is up to this militia to end this scourge upon humanity.

Okkulten Wald is a post-apocalyptic RP set in the war-torn remains of a WWII Europe. The roleplay hopes to contain themes of both action and drama, as well as horror, in a Lovecraftian-inspired setting. Size wise, this roleplay seeks to attract a small-to-medium size group, in order to bring variety in terms of characters, as well as encouraging in-depth relations between characters. Post length wise, I am looking for detailed posts, averaging around 2 paragraphs per post. However, it is quite understandable if this isn't always the case.
There will be some military-themes, however, I do also encourage civilian characters in this RP. The main focus will, of course, be that of survival and travel, though romance and other relationships are encouraged as well.
