Hi, guys, I'm Captain. I'm going to get right to the point and toss out a few characters that I'd be happy to play right now, as well as a few faces I wouldn't mind building a world/personality/RP around.
Below that is a list of stuff you can expect from me and/or the RP.
I am currently only looking for one partner, so I'm gonna be a wee bit picky.

Brother Bernard
Bernard is a holy man who can be played as either a monk or a friar. He's a giant of a man who, early in his life, was the youngest son of a noble family, sent to take holy orders because of an unpleasant incident that he has never spoken of to anyone outside of his immediate kin. He has a love of knowledge and brooks no nonsense--sometimes, it could be said he's got some sass.

(No high fantasy)
--I have a plot involving time-travel back to the 14th century and the Black Death, and in fact, this is the setting I'd prefer to RP him in. The plague swept through Brother Bernard's small island priory, leaving him the only survivor who didn't steal secretly away to the mainland in the only boats the monks had. (He's new to this particular priory, having angered the abbott of his previous one enough to be sent away to the boondocks.) He's alone and uncertain of how he's going to get in touch with the rest of the world, or if indeed it's still there. A young woman shows up suddenly with strange ways, clothes, and language, tossing his already-wrecked existence into further confusion.
*It would be helpful if your character spoke Latin or Middle English--otherwise we'll have to come up with a fancy way to explain how your character and mine speak the same language.
*This plot can be tweaked-- if you prefer to set this even earlier, we can switch to the Anglo-Saxon period and involve Vikings, perhaps, or simply have Bernard be a hermit, although that limits the amount of side-characters we can eventually bring in.
Father Henricus
As opposed to the somewhat grumpy Bernard, Father Henricus is an optimistic, cheerful, innocent soul. He's inexperienced when it comes to love and women and has a somewhat overly-romanticized version of how the world should and does work.

********ehhh, probably not slice-of-life, but see below.
--He can and has been played as a newly-bitten werewolf on a pilgrimage to a saint's shrine looking for what he thinks will be a cure to his condition.
--He can also be put into any number of pre-1500s historical plots as a normal human, whether this be a forbidden romance, time-travel, a victim of marauding invaders, a man accused of a crime he didn't commit who's hiding from the authorities, or an escort for a young woman heading to her arranged marriage.
--Maybe. Maybe. Maybe with the right partner/counter-character, general modern--I have a potential plot with setting, so feel free to ask about it, but I have to warn you, I'm terrible at slice of life. I kinda get bored with it unless it's just right.
Cess Liddell
Cess is a young woman living in New Orleans who works in the French Quarter as a ghost tour guide. Strange things happen around her. Supernatural things. Ghostly things she seems completely comfortable around. Your character has an agenda for joining one of her tours-- let's figure it out together.

Diego Luna
So far, I haven't got a name, genre, or universe for this guy, but I do have his personality. He's a bit of a rogue and most definitely a thief. In most of my imaginings of him, he's incredibly good at thieving, but he has a tendency to think he's a lady's man and a great fast-talker, when in fact he fails fairly often at it. He's also quite concerned with his own self-preservation. We're not looking at a terribly brave man, here. But he's fun, light-hearted, good for a laugh, and he'll certainly walk off with your character's wallet without them noticing.

I've loved this picture for years now. I've always wanted to create a character for it, but so far, nothing has sprung to mind, and other RPs have superceded it so it's remained on the back burner.

*Low fantasy (more folklore/pseudo-medieval/Vikings or Last Kingdom than Tolkien-esque/Game of Thrones-esque)

--I usually post about four-ish times a week. I'm fairly laid-back about this, and won't demand that you post any more than that. Once a week is too little, however. Fair warming: I don't tend to post on weekends, and if I'm not training new employees at my job, I don't work/post on Mondays, either.
--Romance isn't a must. It's fun, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't.
--If you're under 18, please let me know so that I don't scandalize you with foul jokes and my potty mouth. (I won't turn you down just because you're under 18, but I will adjust my OOC talk accordingly.)
--The only thing I ask from you up-front is a writing sample. I'll provide you with mine (or you can post-stalk me and read my in-progress RPs). This will help us to determine if we're mutually compatible, and can prevent any potential disappointments.
--If you prefer to make your posts pretty, that's cool. If you don't want to, that's fine, too. I like photo refs, but I don't expect them, and I don't want to use them as excuses to not add descriptive detail to the RP.
--I play one main. Then, as needed in the RP, I'll play sides and NPCs. These sides/NPCs are mine to be controlled by me, and if you decide to play any, then I won't attempt to control them, just as much as I wouldn't attempt to control your main. (Don't feel compelled to to play sides if you don't want to, however. I'm comfortable with RPing with a partner who plays one and only character.)
