A tradition in Doveport High School is to throw the biggest party on the last Saturday of the summer. Your last night of true freedom until you're buckled down with school work and other priorities. This is your time to let loose and party till sunrise with your companions. Every Doveport high student is welcomed. This year it is thrown at Oliver and Lilith's beachside mansion while their dad is on a business trip. Lilith did most of the planning alongside her closest friends, Elena and Brielle due to Olivers "sports injury" this summer.

Madelaine wasn't originally planning to show up to this party tonight. She didn't feel like dealing with the drama that was sure to occur as it did every year but she figured why not. Maybe she'd see a friendly face and it would make the party worth attending. She'd caught a ride with Dorian to avoid driving her own car though she was sure she'd be driving his home later when he was too drunk to do so. If you asked Madi, her brother loved his car more than he loved anything else. It'd been a present from their parents much like her own vehicle had been but he spent at least three or four days a week making sure it shined like the top of the Chrysler building. She didn't get it but then again she wasn't a big car fanatic. She drove her Range Rover through the car wash once a week if that.

"Can we please roll the damn windows up? I just did my hair!" Madi complained, trying to keep her hair from blowing around in the wind. After rolling his eyes he finally agreed. She fixed her hair in the mirror and just as she finished they were pulling up to the Rhodes' place. It was quite the sight, especially for someone who had never been to it before. It appeared the party had already gotten its first wave of people to arrive which was good because being the first at a party wasn't Madi's thing. "Try not to get too crazy, Dori. I do hate having to take care of you after a party," she joked though she had done so plenty of times.

Madelaine climbed out of the car, adjusting her top before heading for the door, her brother following not too far behind. Once inside, the sibling duo broke off into their own ways. Dorian, of course, heading for the beer while Madi searched the room for someone to mingle with. She saw plenty of people she knew but none that she actually cared enough to walk up to so instead she made her way towards the deck that overlooked the beach and looked out to the ocean which was under the glow of a full moon. She was sure she’d eventually find someone she wanted to hang out with but for now, she would enjoy the company of the waves crashing against the shore.

DORIAN KINGSTON | 18 | THE PLAYER/FLIRT

outfit: click to see! tags: brielle enigma2 enigma2 ; aiden apolla apolla ; devon laburnum gold laburnum gold ; rowan Parallax Parallax ;

"Shit," Dorian muttered as he swerved to miss a stalled car by just a few inches. He'd probably have a full-blown meltdown if he got even just a scratch on his beloved Corvette. It was a shiny blue-ish grey color and had a drop-top, just like he'd ask for on his sixteenth birthday. He was sure it was another way of his parents trying to buy their love but he didn't care. He had been sorta distant from his parents for a long time now. Even as children their parents were hardly around so it became kinda normal for them to not see or talk to them much. They were mostly raised by a nanny, so she was the one that Dorian had grown to respect. Not his absentee parents who believed as long as they had all the material things they wanted then life was perfect.

He rolled his eyes as he heard his sister complain for the millionth time about the windows but he finally gave in, rolling them up as the neared Rhodes' residence. He'd been here plenty of times before, most of those times were with Lilith back when they were still a thing. It was a lifetime ago but he still remembered it vividly. Watching the sunset together, the way she laughed, all of it. Including how she tore his heart from his chest and stomped on it like that time meant nothing to her. It was part of what made him such the non-commital guy he was now. Dubbed a player by some of his fellow classmates. It wasn't like he meant to hurt anyone, he just didn't always try his hardest to avoid it.

"I'll be fine, Mads," he promised though he wasn't sure how true it was, he did sometimes tend to get a little too drunk at these things. As soon as they went in they separated. He wasted no time in finding the beer and making his way towards some open tables. "Beer pong anybody?" he called out to anyone who was around to listen. He wasn't the best at it but it was a decent way to aid him in getting wasted and who didn't like a little friendly competition anyway?

Brielle ran her hands over her clothes watching herself in the mirror of one of Lilith's many bathrooms, stationed in the guest room that she had slept in the night before. It had already passed nine and the party was in full swing, no one missing a party hosted by Lilith Goode, but Brielle was really just trying to buy herself more time alone. She'd already seen how their parties could go so the night prior to today she'd prayed that this party would be different from the regular drama filled parties seen in Doveport, but even she knew that was a stretch. She had spent time planning this party with her two of her best friends, Elena and Lilith, and she already knew she had to be in attendance because well... it was her best friends party. Parties were never her scene due to the fact that it was just a nightmare waiting to happen if you really thought about it. A bunch of drunk and in her case problematic kids all under one roof? It's a recipe for disaster which is why Brielle resents them so much, but her love her best friend outweighs the strong dislike to the atmosphere, which is why she's prepping herself to walk down those stairs into the mess they call a party. She was wearing a simple outfit with a white Adidas crop top, white jeans ripped at the knees and a long beige cardigan on top. Her feet were decorated with the new off-white Jordan 4's and her long hair being woven into two french braids. Due to the fact that is what a party which included the dreadful sweat, she chose against heavy make up and went light, applying lip gloss to her lips rather than lipstick. Elena and Lilith had tried to coerce her into dressing up a little more, but if she'd be attending this party she'd at least do it in comfort... until the heat becomes unbearable and she has to remove her cardigan, but that's besides the point.

After deciding to wait around a little, Brielle finally walked down those stairs turning the heads of some party goers. The first thing she decided she'd need to do was find open space because she felt squished when finally maneuvered her way downstairs. While on her way to the kitchen she received a few whistles and causing her to tighten her cardigan around her exposed stomach. She didn't think her outfit was that revealing and anyone could tell she didn't go all out for this party, but boys will be boys. Once she had weaved through the bodies of sweaty and horny teenage kids she grabbed one of the plastic water bottles that were surrounded by various types of alcohol, chugging half of it down before walking back into the most crowded areas of the party in attempt to find someone to talk to. During her search she stumbled upon Dorian who had just asked if anyone wanted to play beer pong. A smile made was placed on her face, if Dorian was here she knew for a fact Madelaine was here and excitement grew inside of her. There were a few things on her mind that she wanted to talk about with the girl so she was set on finding her tonight.

The small girl speed walked to the boy who had collected a few people around him, none that she knew and with her mind set on finding Madelaine she couldn't bother to care about who they were. "Doriannnnn" she screamed over the music, stretching the last letter out to it's fullest. She wrapped her arms around his waist giving him a quick hug before stepping back to look at his outfit more thoroughly. The boy had dressed rather simple with a red short sleeved top and some light denim jeans to go with it. His outfit made her feel a little overdressed until she remembered what she had seen other kids wearing and reassurance flowed over her. The thought of clothes reminded her of how she could already feel the extra heat due to her cardigan, so she started to fan herself with her small hands. "I missed you so much, how have you been?" the smaller girl asked, craning her neck up a little to see his face. It was true that she missed him because it had been a while since the two had hung out, but she was really just trying to make small talk before she could ask of Madelaine. Still, she had always had time to spare for Dorian, him being like the brother she never had. Every so often her eyes would flicker away from him seeing if she had turned up yet, but after being unsuccessful she decided to wait until her conversation with Dorian was over before she asked.

LAMARCUS

the gangster

Outfit: Click | Mood: Anxious, excited

The car turned the corner dangerously, and caused the outside wheels to almost leave the road completely. It rocked back onto the ground, and the force of it all ricocheted throughout the Porsche. Lamarcus' head bopped violently, but his facial expression was painted all too relaxed. He had one hand clasped onto the wheel, and another one holding a delicate blunt of weed. His back was leaned, and relaxed onto the convertible's reclined seat, foggy red eyes set on the road, and light smoke escaping his lips. The top of his Porsche was rolled down, of which caused his bucket cap to flutter wildly in the air as he sped down the road to the home of Doveport's famed step-siblings, Lilith and Oliver.

If anyone had ever accompanied Lamarcus in the car, they'd be well aware that he was never late. No time restraint, weather problems, etc. could stop the will of Lamarcus, especially with his "reckless" driving. He always hit the gas whenever he had the opportunity to run through a red light, had no problem switching through lanes to get to his destination faster, and as he was now, he loved blasting vulgar rap music. "All these bitches love sosa..!" Lamarcus sang along to the Chief Keef hit song. Even with the roof of his car reclined, the sound boomed, loud and strong due to his added speakers installed into the back seats of the car. He glanced over at Cain to his right, as he switched lanes, and narrowly missed colliding with the back of another vehicle. Lamarcus had been driving since he was 14, and for some odd reason had yet to be caught by authorities for any reckless driving. Hell, he hadn't even an official permit yet. But with knowing Cain for years, and having driven him around (mostly because he never wanted to get into the car unless he was driving), he was sure Cain was accustomed to his wild tendencies on the road. And if he wasn't, he played it off pretty damn good.

Lamarcus wasn't all too sure how he felt about the party though, in all honesty. With the summer coming to an end, it was a battle with sadness, and regret of just how much more things he should've done, and people he should've spoken to. He figured that was what every other high schooler was considering at the time, the usual summer hangover-- much worse than the hangover he'd be getting tonight. He'd already decided it'd be a goal of his to get as loose, and wasted as he could, for the last party before the Doveport school year. He groaned mentally. Lamarcus wasn't stupid, or incapable of getting work done, but with the start of his school year came raised duties in the gang-- much of which he gave off to other, more insecure students, but still. He shook the thought though, and luckily while in his trance, he hadn't managed to get himself and Cain into a car accident.

As he neared the beach-side mansion, Lamarcus slowed the car, and cursed at just the amount of people that'd arrived already. "Hell of a party." He groaned over the music radiating from his car. He waved to a few of his fellow classmates as he maneuvered his car into a small parking space. With the press of a button on the front dashboard, the roof of the car retracted itself, and likewise, the windows of the car rose to close the vehicle completely. He winced slightly as he stood up and out of the car, just at the weight of his chains, and adjusted them slightly before turning to Cain. "If you need a ride home, call me-- that's if I'm not wasted or anything. Or Andre, 'cause he's home tonight." Lamarcus warned, and two short whistles sounded as he pressed a button on the keys to lock the vehicle. "I hear it's going to be one hell of a night."

With that, he took the final drag of the blunt he'd had in his hand, before dropping it onto the road floor, and crushing it under his heel. Lamarcus turned his sights onto the mansion, smirking slightly, and eyes brightening at the bikini-clad women, and just the aura of party that was present. Lamarcus enjoyed how the air licked past his revealed skin, and the compliments he received just standing by his car, of which were enough to boost his ego. He was looking forward to night the most, when parties really came alive. He thumbed the tear-drop tattoo on his cheek, a habit he'd picked up since the tattoo had healed over, while he walked slowly towards the mansion, making sure he kept at Cain's side.

Arya never passed up an opportunity to get high with friends, but, this time, she was close. Just something about going to a party hosted by Lilith bothered her. It’s not that she was worried about getting kicked out, because, one - everyone was welcome - and, two - if Lilith kicked out every person who hated her, it’d be less of a party and more of a room filled with five people. But, Arya had been doing a fairly good job at steering clear of her, and it’s a little hard to avoid someone after showing up at their house.

Smoke billowed from the blunt pinched between Arya’s fingertips. She pressed her lips against it and took a deep drag, before letting the fumes lazily drift from her mouth. Her eyes darted to the car’s clock. 8:57. Damn. Arya was rarely on time for anything — let alone early. Though, for Reagan, she’d make an exception. She was always there for Arya, letting her crash in her room some nights when Arya couldn’t stand being in her own house, the least she could do was the same. She tapped her fingers against the gear, counting the seconds mentally as if it that would make time move faster. Eventually, the clock hit nine. Flicking her blunt onto the street, Arya shut off her car, grabbed a step stool from the passenger seat, then got out of the car.

As she walked towards Reagan’s house, the wind nipped at her nose, turning it a light pink. She remembered to park several houses down this time, since last time Reagan’s parents saw her oddly familiar, dingy brown car outside their house, she got a mouthful. Mr. and Mrs. Farrow didn’t particularly like Arya, but she never knew why exactly. Maybe it had something to do with her being perfectly fine helping Reagan jump off her balcony.

Carefully approaching the backyard, Arya chucked the stepstool over the fence. It thunked into the grass. She froze, waiting to make sure everything was safe, before lifting herself up against the fence, then, slowly, hurled herself off. She scooped up the stool and hurried to put it beneath Reagan’s balcony, to help shorten the distance between her and the ground.

I’m outside : )
Sent 9:02

A few seconds later, Reagan’s door clicked open, and she appeared on the balcony. Arya flashed a smile, then pressed down on the step stool, so it wouldn’t fall beneath the other. She waited as Reagan climbed down, her feet gently tapping the stool, then hopped to the ground. In rushed silence, the two of them quickly made their way to Arya’s car and got in. "Ahhhh," she huffed, and immediately reached over to hug Reagan. Tightly. Arya had always been an overly affectionate person, whether the other person wanted her to be or not. "I can't believe I couldn't see you all summer." She pulled away, turning on the car, and starting the drive. "Sooo... how much of a mess do you think tonight's gonna be?" Drama and Doveport parties were inseparable, and, unless that drama included her or Reagan, Arya took way too much pleasure in watching things turn to shit.

It didn’t take too long to get to Lilith’s house - mostly because Arya sped the whole way there. “Okay, so I promise to stay sober enough to drive you back,” Arya grinned, but it was her infamous ‘i hope what I’m saying is true’ face. "But, with that being said... wanna drink?" She sloppily parked her car way too close to a blue corvette, then got out.

Lilith had been dressing herself up for an hour and a half. Besides, true queens show up fashionably late to their own party. Making an entrance by sashaying down the grand staircase in their red silk dress and strappy black heels. Listen, shes definitely not the queen of Doveport High unlike her bestie, but Lilith is definitely the second in command, and that has to stand for something. Plus, she was hosting the party of the year in her home, so tonight she was the queen, at least in her own egotistical head. Oliver could be the jester or something.

Fuck, she actually felt bad for Oliver. Having to deal with an alcohol infused party while being on his third week home from rehab. However, Lilith had to push that aside for her own selfish needs. She did promise Oliver to help him through the night, be his post-rehab coach.

Lilith knows drug addiction, from her father in and out of rehab every other month throughout her childhood and now Oliver. And despite her and Oliver's feud, Lilith was there for him every day. Visited him constantly, even if Oliver wanted nothing to do with her. She brought flowers, chocolates, social media updates, newest rumors in the Kanye and Taylor drama and literally anything else Lilith could think of. Oliver might hate her and vise versa, but they were still family. This was her chance to save a family member in need since she was too young to save her father. Plus, if Oliver turned into her dad, Elena and Oliver wouldn't make it to the end of the month. She was essentially saving their relationship from spiraling further.

While Lilith could've thrown this party alone, she was grateful Elena and Brielle were there to help. She's been keeping this house afloat while her step-father was somewhere in Europe for a week long "business trip"; also known as a week in their Paris vacation home with his latest sugar baby. So yeah, it was nice to have some of the weight from this party lifted off her shoulders.

Lilith applied an overpriced hot red lipstick shade she bought the other day at Sephora, adjusted her cleavage and messed with her naturally wavy hair some more. There. Stunning. Lilith blew a kiss in the mirror and stepped out of her bedroom.

Lilith strutted down the stairs like a model during New York Fashion Week. She got some whistles, catcalls, winks and waves. Lilith smirked and flipped some hair off her shoulders. In the background she heard Dorian call out the invitation for beer pong and couldn't help but roll her eyes. They totally did it on that table, and that one. Oh and not to mention the kitchen counters, the couch to the right of him, etc. (easy to fuck all over the house when step-dad is often out of town) and to see him act like it doesn't phase him made her heart hurt. To be fair, Lilith basically squashed his.

Lilith stopped at the bottom of the grand staircase and squinted, seeing Lamarcus and Cain make their way into the house. Lilith could control a lot of her emotions, but not her subconscious making her cheeks turn red. She quickly turned towards the kitchen to find something to drink. Lilith needed to get her mind off Lamarcus and all their nights driving aimlessly around, laughing, smoking, kissing in the backseat... Lilith's heart was pounding as she poured vodka into a shot glass and downed it.

Clementine Risi
[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll][div class=text]Summer break had been more or less a time for Clementine to recover from the stressful events of junior year. There had been a lot for her to process and frankly and she was glad to distance herself from that world for months. But now she was diving back into it, and it was starting by her being in front of this year's party venue. Oliver and Lilith weren't exactly friends of the girl, and frankly she didn't find them to be that fun of company but there was nothing else she could do. She had already agree to go to the party with Carina and Kasper, but they had yet to show up, which caused Clementine to be waiting outside of the house alone. The breeze sent a light chill across her skin and eventually she gathered the courage to enter the building.

The music was loud and the smell of alcohol hit her like a wall but it wasn't exactly unexpected. She had been to the end of the summer party every year and it seemed like it was the same each time. The only difference this year was the fact that she didn't have a boyfriend, but that didn't really matter to her. Sighing a bit, Clementine checked her phone and sent a few texts, two to Kasper and Carina and then one to Jake, asking if he was going to show up. She really wanted someone to be there so she could talk to them, but it seemed like that wasn't going to happen. Brushing her dark hair back over her shoulders, she walked through the house without a care in the world, her eyes looking over the students that had decided to show up.

Heads turned as the ex-popular girl walked through the crowded rooms, interested in finding some decent booze to loosen her up a bit. The dark red dress clung to her figure and showed off her tanned skin and the freckles that scattered across her face. The girl had spent more time out at the beach at her family's beach house in California and than anything else. It had been a good escape for her and honestly, she missed it. The days of lounging on the beach, surfing a bit, and just enjoying alone time, it seemed so far away and she really wanted it back. She ignored some of the comments and whistles as she walked into the kitchen, pouring herself a cup of alcohol, not really thinking much about it as she mixed the drinks.

Once her concoction was made, she left the room and headed for the familiar deck that she often went out on when she was friends with Lilith. It seemed like it was so long ago, she was surprised that she still remembered the layout of the house. She had heard the loud voice of Dorian as he got a game of beer pong started, but she doubted that he would want her hanging around him, especially since she made such a big deal about keeping their relationship quiet. Still, it would be nice to catch up with the boy since she hadn't seen him since she left in June.

Opening the door to the deck, Clementine was startled by the fact someone else was already there. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone would be out here yet." She recognized the girl when she got closer to her and instantly she regretted her choice of location. She didn't dislike Madi, actually, she found her very pleasant, but she also didn't want to be friends with a girl who was the sister of the boy she was sleeping with. "How was your summer?" Striking up conversation seemed like a better idea than being silent and drinking alone. At least until her own friends arrived.

"or maybe we can just stay here..." she whispered seductively, leaning into his ear, as she motioned her head towards his california king bed. she then giggled it off, making it obvious that her suggestion was a joke, even though she half meant it, worried that being around a ton of illegal substances would be difficult for him fresh out of rehab. "scratch that... but maybe after the party" she said with a smirk, and the couple left the room, making their way to the top of the stairs, arm in arm. once they were visible to the rest of the party, the crowd went quiet for a moment, staring at the golden couple as they made their way down the stairs, similar to their debut in font of high society at the debutante ball months ago. she even saw a few freshmen drop their jaws, unable to take their eyes off of them. some of the freshmen were confused, but they could tell that the two were in charge of the school, and they knew not to mess with them. her heels clicked by, acting as if the rest of the school wasn't watching as they arrived late to their own party, and she ignored any of the guys who tried to come up and talk to her. they really had the balls to do that with the king on her arm, or they were just stupid, but she didn't mind the attention, and oliver was hot as hell when he was being jealous or protective, and she liked that. though, most people didn't often openly defy the king, at least no one elena could think of, except... as the crowd gradually returned to normal, the sound of chief keef blasting from a car radio grew nearer and nearer. elena knew whose arrival it meant because no one else dared to blast vulgar music that loudly in a neighborhood like theirs, and she turned her head to face the double doors, watching as la marcus and cain entered in front of them. great, perfect timing, she thought, not wanting to make any part of her night awkward. "hey!" she greeted them casually, flashing her pearly white, million dollar smile, hoping it wasn't too flirtatious, as she clung onto her boyfriend, trying not to pay cain too much attention or think about the times he consoled her over the summer. "brought the henny, dom, and grey goose just for you guys," she said jokingly with a wink, motioning to the alcohol table, "help yourselves out." [/div] [div class=name]jake.[/div] [div class=nameo]jake.[/div] [/div] [div class=body][div class=scroll]Jake pulled up to the neighborhood, a couple blocks from the party's location. He normally parked this far away in order to protect his baby, his car. Sure, it wasn't the newest or the most expensive model, but it was his and he poured a ton of effort into it. He'd be pissed if someone messed with it. Locking it and shoving his keys into his pocket, he continued on foot to the party. The air was still warm, but the ocean breeze made him glad he wore a sweatshirt. As he got closer to the party, the streets were lined with cars. Most were new and shiny and in his opinion, most people had no idea how to drive them properly. The shit he's seen fixing his classmates' cars made him rethink who should be allowed to drive. He cringed at a few cars with tires that were visibly low on air. Not to mention all the cars that would be much better if they were manual transmission. Truly a crime in his eyes.

He pushed those thoughts aside. He was here for a good time, not to deal with his peers' idiocy when it came to vehicle maintenance. He walked up to the front door and let himself in. He could feel the music thumping in his chest and the smell of weed and booze filled the air. His first stop was to grab a beer before surveying the party. He scanned the crowd for any familiar faces. Maybe one of the guys, Oliver himself, or even Clementine. His train of thought was interrupted when his phone buzzed. Speak of the devil, it was Clementine wondering if he was here. He shot back a response before wandering around to look for her. They had met in a similar fashion. He had been wandering around at a party much like this one and stumbled upon her. It was definitely awkward, but she needed someone to talk to and he was there. And the rest was history.

He didn't have much trouble navigating the house aside from the sheer amount of people in his way. He knew the house well, having been a guest of Oliver's on several occasions and a guest of Lilith's a few times to fix her car. It was a much nicer house than he would probably ever own if he was being honest. Each of his parents' houses were big enough to fit them comfortably, but they didn't have an excessive amount of space. His family was rather average. They didn't really do much during the summer, staying home as usual. He just worked through the summer and spent his free time building a new motor for his project car. If he has it his way, it is going to be fast. Though he had a little bit of help from some buddies he met through car meets. Sure, a few wrenches were thrown across the garage, but it got done. Though he was missing a transmission, most of the interior, a bumper, and the inner workings of the dashboard, it was coming along nicely.

He searched most of the house without luck. He hadn't ventured into bedrooms, avoiding interrupting anyone who may be using them. Soon enough, he decided to check the deck, which was one of the few places left where she could be. As he slid the door open, he heard her familiar voice. Thank god. He didn't feel like struggling not to spill his beer as he pushed through people. [div class=dialogue]"'Sup Clementine, I've been looking everywhere for you,"[/div] he complained. [div class=dialogue]"Hey Madi,"[/div] he added, noticing she was there also. He leaned against the deck railing and took a sip of his beer.

Marissa Amell

LOCATION: home -> the Rhodes manor || OUTFIT: click! || TAGS: Cam apolla apolla Cisco natsukashii natsukashii

“Is this really what I’m wearing?” Marissa was looking at herself in the mirror, eyebrows raised high, lips pursed and she was trying to pull the white crop top lower to cover her flat stomach. But the there was that neckline. Damn, parties were really not something she was familiar with. Or at least not parties in the Rhodes manor, organized by the popular clique. She flashed a look at Cameron and her face was a description of uncertainty. Actually, if it wasn’t for Cam, Mari wouldn’t even go. “So…what do you think?” Poor geek had no idea what people usually wore to parties. All she knew that her casual shirts and basic jeans were not it. This time, Mari decided to rely on Cam completely. Not that she had no fashion sense herself, she simply never really cared. And in her world, dresses and heels were for the stage.

Looking at Cameron, Mari sighed. She looked flawless as usual. But then, why should Mari be so concerned what a bunch of rich kids think about her? This was her senior year, the last year of high school, it was supposed to be the best year ever. And hell yes, she was going to enjoy that. There was just so much to explore, to learn, to remember. And most of all, she was determined to lead her glee club to its victory at nationals. Last year, they were second. Not good enough. This year, Mari was the soloist and she -was- going to win.

With that in mind, a crooked smirk appeared on her face, the one with the right corner of her mouth higher than the other. “You know what? Never mind, I’m wearing this.” she grinned at Cam, who was actually one of the nicest people Mari knew. Their friendship started with a song and they found their harmony in that. And Marissa loved spending time with her. Yeah, her brother could be jerk sometimes, maybe more than often, but those remarks were nothing Mari couldn’t handle.

The doorbell sounded and Mari grinned. There was only one person missing here. “Give me a second.” she told Cameron and left the room. “I got it!!!” she yelled, running down the stairs, barefoot, and the maid (who was actually absolutely useless but her parents insisted that all people, who mean something, have one, though if you asked Marissa, it was just a bunch of crap) returned to the kitchen. Marissa opened the door just to see a cheeky grin of her childhood friend, completely forgetting she was just stressing about her clothes. “You actually brought some comic books?” she laughed and gave him a quick hug. “Come on up, you can help me choose the lipstick.” Mari said, looking all serious, but only for a moment before she burst out laughing. As if she ever cared for any of it.

“You know Cameron Hunter?” she asked, pointing at her friend and just in case introduced them both. It didn’t take long for them to finish up and Mari grabbed the keys. “We’re taking my father’s car. Not that he ever drives it but…won’t miss it even less now, being in Seattle and all.”

They all got in the ’67 Chevy Impala which comfortably drove them up to the Rhodes manor where she parked in between a polished Corvette and even more polished Porsche. The three of them entered right in time to see the royalty walk downstairs. “Soo…now we’re all quiet until they finish the stairs?” she whispered to the other two.

It didn't take much longer than the chirp of a bird for Cain to thrust himself into Lamarcus' vehicle in preparation of the party. He could hear him coming from way down the street, the blaring music unmistakable. The ride brimmed with chaotic energy of Lamarcus and Cain screwing around, being mock annoying toward each other and "pre-gaming" in their own way. The ride was shorter than anticipated, which Cain was entirely fine with. They hopped out of the [mf'n] Porsche, greeted by a generous number of past and future classmates of assorted grades. Wait, wasn't that one guy in middle school? He heeded his friends' words about a ride home, and Cain thanked him beneath his breath.

They whisked by a cluster of high schoolers that nearly blocked the front door, the humid summer gusts brushing by him just before entering the lavish Rhodes manner. Elena was impossible not to spot in the foyer, her silky crimson mini-dress instantly leeching his attention. She seemed to notice him simultaneously, her cheeky movie-star smile making its expected appearance. Her chocolate locks billowed with her smooth movements, the silken waves looking remarkably softer than usual. He had an intrusive thought involving him rushing his fingers through the ends, the other arm snaked around her petite waistline.

He exchanged a brief glimpse with Lamarcus, a hieroglyphic simper edging at his cheeks. He returned his steely gaze to Elena, subtly angling his chin sideways. "Just for us? Damn.." He took a few steps closer, gaze locked intensely onto Elena's glinting eyes, "You really know how to make a guy feel special." He chuckled, pocketing his hands before tossing Oliver a grin as well. "Enjoy the party, boss." He grinned, flashing his teeth toward the popular senior-to-be before glimpsing back at Lamarcus to be sure he'd meet him over at the liquor table.

Cain brushed a hand through the wispy strands of hair that grazed his forehead, eyeing the drinks with intense thought. Vodka got him fucked up fast, but the next day he felt like someone ready to 'buy the farm'. He hated the taste of henny, but it never gave him a hangover. Lagos resolved to risk it, however, pouring himself a seriously loaded serving in a solo cup. He didn't visibly react to the first sip, but damn did it slap him sideways.

Girls were already getting ready to party down at the beach, stripping into their bikinis right in front of him before giggling and grabbing one another's hands, jogging out of the open sliding glass door. He was tempted to snatch up their clothes so they'd have to stay that way for the rest of the night, but decided against it. He smothered a chuckle, not hiding his obvious stare while gawking at a drunk kid who got faded way too early. That would come back to bite him for the rest of the school year, and it hadn't even begun.
let's go up in flames, pretty lady"

There were multiple reasons that Francisco was excited the final school year was nearly upon him. He was obviously excited to be able to see some of the friends he hadn’t in a while and even some of the teachers. He may not be the perfect A student his parents wished he was or even the smartest tool in the shed, but being at least a solid B average and one of the friendliest guys you will ever meet, there was something to be said about how easily excited and satisfied the latinx teen was to be back in a classroom again.

During his summer, Cisco had felt alive, well more alive than he had in previous summers. He went to a lot of great places, watched too much trashy television with his mama and, thanks to his younger siblings and the incessant need to get him into Stranger Things, Cisco developed an addiction to Leggo waffles.

Going into the week, there was an unrelenting buzz about a party being held at Oliver and Lilith’s beachside manor, otherwise known as the Rhodes Manor. Cisco tried to keep knowledge of it out of his younger brother and sister’s hands and especially away from his parents. If they knew about it, even if he wasn’t certain he was gonna go, they would have banned him from leaving the house regardless.

As much as Cisco loved going to parties and as much as he loved his parents and friends, there was some other reasons he was thinking about not going. Some people he didn’t want to see, which was pretty odd behavior for the teen because his love for people was always a two-way street. His smile was one of the few things people enjoyed seeing, but something happened over the summer that left Cisco in a place uncertain about a lot of things.

And, of course, that all changed after Marissa Amell, one of his oldest and dearest friends, changed his mind. She knew he was on the border of going and not going. After a lot of back and forth, she persuaded him with the promise that they would hang out more (his condition, not hers). So that sealed the deal and Cisco was at her front door with a fat stack of comic books in his hand. Most of them were New 52 DC comics.

“You actually brought comic books?” Marissa said as the door opened.

Cisco immediately laughed. “My parents were home and I had to make them believe I wasn’t going to the party.” With a sigh, he walked in and followed her inside and up the stairs, briefly smiling at Cameron. “Hey,” he waved.

As he helped Marissa figure out the lipstick she was going to use, Cisco happily helped her with it; and when they were done, without a moment to lose, they hopped in her father’s car and enjoyed a short, yet enjoyable scenic drive to the beach where the party was being held at.

Cisco shrugged at Marissa’s question. Truth be told, he was a little distracted but he didn’t want to worry his friend and Cameron, so he pushed it down and smiled. Besides, as soon as he saw the party already starting to take effect, he started to feel better. “Come on, girls! A party awaits!” He laughed, gesturing them to follow him as he jogged towards the party.

[div class=textinformation]eagan couldn't wait to get out of the house ever since she got back from New York. Though her parents called it a vacation, it was more of something to force her away from Doveport and stay out of trouble for a good part of the summer. Luckily the party happening tonight would provide her all the fun and thrill she has been missing. Arya was just on her way to pick her up for the party. She was the first person who Reagan has been dying to see since coming back and was the first she befriended within the past year since her flip. Reagan now considers her one of her closest friends, despite her own parent's disapproval. When she received the text announcing Arya's arrival, Reagan opened the door to her balcony before climbing down on the step stool Arya brought with her. Without trying to cause too much of a disturbance, they were able to make it to Arya's car which was hiding a few houses away. "I can't believe I couldn't see you all summer." Reagan returned the hug Arya gave her, "I know, New York was such a drag without you guys!" Reagan leaned back in the seat as Arya sped through the town. She looks out the window at the passing buildings. There was something bittersweet being back in Doveport even if she was gone for just a few weeks. Reagan snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of Arya's excitement to watch whatever chaos this party would bring, "Sooo... how much of a mess do you think tonight's gonna be?" "Oh it's going to be a shitstorm." Reagan didn't care too much about drama herself but didn't hesitate to step in when it involved people close to her. Knowing who the host of this party is, they are going to have to watch their backs if it meant not being caught up in said storm. Once they got to the house Arya promised to be sober enough to drive Reagan home. But Reagan didn't care all that much about making it home. "Don't worry about driving me home babes. If anything I'll crash with you if it gets too crazy so yeah let's drink!" Reagan noticed that Arya pulled up behind a blue corvette which could have been none other than Dorian's car. Reagan internally groaned at the thought of running into Madi and Dorian at a time like this. She knew everyone she used to hang with would be at this party, but she would have liked to not be sober when seeing any of them. She jumped out of the car and stuck close to Arya, making sure to keep an eye out for anyone else they knew.

[div class=tag]location[/div] Marissa's house ---> party, alcohol table

[div class=tag]tags[/div] Marissa ( _amaranth_ _amaranth_ ); Cisco ( natsukashii natsukashii ); Cain ( Parallax Parallax ) [/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=content] "Yes, that is definitely what you are wearing!" Cameron took a step back, holding up her fingers and positioning them in a rectangular shape, bringing the shape closer to her eyes as though she were placing Marissa into a frame. Releasing a giggle, she dropped her hands and placed them on her hips, giving her friend a good nod. "You look fantastic. Really, you shouldn't hide so much behind baggy clothes. I'm glad I brought those for you." Glancing over at Marissa's reflection, her smile widened. "I think that you need to dress like this more often. Really show 'em what they're missing!"

Truthfully, Cameron was not the best person to go to when it came to what one should and should not wear. The 'good' girl hardly did anything daring herself, but she could definitely find it within herself to boost someone else's ego. In fact, the most 'daring' thing she'd done recently would be the pink highlights in her hair, but the dye was washable, and most likely would be gone by the time school started in a few days. The outfit she'd chosen was simple: a white dress with a heart back cutout, and a pair of heels that she could easily swap out for a spare pair of flats. It was the most skin she'd probably ever shown around her classmates.

She didn't get a chance to comment on Marissa's sudden change of heart as the doorbell rang. "Who-?" Turning as Marissa fled the room, she crept closer to the door, straining to hear who Marissa wanted to greet so badly. By the time her friend and Cisco reappeared in the room, however, Cam was back at the mirror, applying her top coat of lip gloss. She'd tied the top part of her hair back with a ribbon, and turned to face them as they entered the room. Returning Cisco's greeting with a small wave of her own, she realized that it was too late to turn back now.

Of course, she'd been the one to convince Marissa to go to this party. But it was time for them to break out of their shell, wasn't it? After all, Cam was going into her junior year. This year and next was it, and then she'd be going off to college. Cam had been planning her college years out for a long time already, but wasn't high school supposed to be the 'time of your life'? At least, that's what she'd heard and observed from watching the popular kids. Cam didn't mind her spot in the totem pole, but it would be nice to be known as something other than Aiden's little sister.

With a sigh, she helped Marissa and Cisco pick out the lipstick color, and then they were off. Cam twisted in the front seat so that she could see them both and carry on a conversation, but she was growing slightly more nervous as the house got closer. As she got out of the car, she laughed nervously at Cisco's words, but followed him and Marissa into the huge home. The inside matched the outside, and Cam let out a small 'whoa' as she tried to take in everything. "I'm gonna need a drink." She nudged Marissa and nodded towards the alcohol table, and then headed in that direction. So focused on getting her own drink, she didn't notice who was there until she went to reach for the hennessy and saw someone elses hand.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to-" She immediately withdrew her hand, glancing up to spot Cain attached to the hand. She grew distracted momentarily as a few girls stripped down to their bikinis, running out towards the beach. Known around school as the 'goodie 2 shoes', Cam lived up to that by attending parties but never having more than one drink, if that. She was known to be the exact opposite of her brother, and up until now, that had suited her just fine. Flushing with embarrassment, she reached for the vodka instead, pouring a very small amount into her cup.

devon wong. ❞
Devon grinned when the last of his neon red cocktail sloshed into his water bottle just as his phone pinged. Rowan was right on time.

He tossed his things into a black crossbody bag and slung it over his shoulders. During his summer travels in Europe, he'd become a new believer in the resurrection of the fanny pack. Repurposed water bottles in hand, he skipped to Rowan's car idling outside. Sliding into the passenger seat, he shook the bottles with an impish grin at his chauffeur.

"Cherry-flavored!" Devon said as he tossed the smaller one into Rowan's lap before uncapping his own and gulping some down. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, lips stained red from the drink. "Don't chug it unless you don't wanna get to Oliver's."

He settled in, chattering about his summer and asking about Rowan's as they drove to the party. Devon hadn't been able to hang out with his friends for most of break. A dance program whisked him away to Europe the minute school was out, and by the time he got back, he had to drop right into preparing for his studio's summer showcase. This last week of summer break was really going to be the only time he could have carefree fun for months. His goal of the night: either get fucked up and blackout or create a cherished lifelong memory. He wasn't picky.

The party was well underway by the time they got to the house. Just being nearby, Devon could feel the beat of the music pulsating in the air. Where someone else's anxiety might have ramped up from the proximity of drugs, drinking, and teenaged mistakes, the atmosphere was like a breath of fresh air to him. Clambering out of the car, he knocked back the dregs of his cocktail and tossed the bottle aside with a whoop.

Hooking his arm along Rowan's shoulders, Devon tugged them inside. His flushed face was the only evidence of his pre-gaming, his movements still as hyper as he was sober. The blast of heat that hit him made him grin as he scoped the place out for his favorite faces. He lit up when he saw Brielle hanging onto Dorian by some tables. Letting go of Rowan, he bounced toward the two.

"Where's my hug?" he said with a dramatic pout towards Brielle before the usual smile came back. "I've missed you guys!" He gestured toward the table next to Dorian. "But also pong though, so let's play!"

[div class=tag]tags[/div] Cam; Cain ( Parallax Parallax ); Dorian ( jasmyn jasmyn ); Brielle ( enigma2 enigma2 ) [/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=content] "Twenty." Aiden held the bag of capsules in his hand, practically dangling it in front of the face of the guy in front of him. "I said twenty, Bill. Not fifteen, not ten. Twenty." Just like that, he closed his fingers over the bag and went to tuck it back into his pocket. If the buyer didn't have the money he'd promised Aiden, he wouldn't be getting any from him tonight. Aiden never told anyone the wrong number; he was extra careful about that. Hell, he had to be careful anyway, especially if he didn't want his little sister to know that the majority of the money that took care of them came from what he sold.

"Wait, wait, I got it..." The man across from Aiden mumbled, reaching into his own pocket to pull out a wrinkled and damp ten dollar bill. Aiden grimaced, but took the money anyway, folding it and stuffing it into another pocket. He withdrew the baggie and dropped it into Bill's hands, who immediately turned to leave. Aiden placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks.

"Don't waste my time, Bill. I don't take kindly to that." He released the man's shoulder, and Bill nodded before scurrying away, out of the alleyway they'd met in. Aiden gave him a few minutes to get away before slipping out of the alley himself, spotting his black older Mustang parked down the street, in the parking lot of the convenience store. He headed into said store, grabbing a pack of smokes with his fake ID, using the same ten Bill had just given him. The store clerk barely spared him a second glance, and Aiden was out free, headed to his car. He got in and turned it on, spotting the clock.

The party would just be starting, and hopefully tonight would be a decent turnout. He grabbed his wallet from the glove compartment and tucked the rest of the money inside before closing it and tucking it back into its hiding space. Packing the cigarettes on his knee, he removed the outside wrapper and threw it on the floor of the passenger seat, opening the pack to grab one of the smokes. He lit it with a match from a box in his box holder, and then cracked the window and backed out of his spot. He headed for the party at a leisurely pace, parking down the street some just to avoid the crowd later.

Filling his zippered pockets with baggies of fun things, he shut off the engine and got out of the car, making sure to lock the doors before heading down the street, to the party. Once inside, his eyes scanned the crowd for someone he knew. They landed on a familiar blonde by the alcohol table, and he immediately headed her way. Snatching the cup from Cam's hands, he looked down into it, laughing at the amount of vodka in it. Handing the cup back over, he realized who stood on her other side. "Evening, sister." He grinned down at Cam. "Planning on getting wasted with that drink?"

She rolled her eyes in response. "Get lost, Aiden."

"As you wish. Careful, Cain, this one's a wild one." Knowing full well that he and Cain were not on good terms anymore, he left it at that and disappeared from the table. He spotted Dorian near the beer pong tables and headed in his direction, spotting Brielle as he got closer. "Sup." He greeted them both simultaneously, his eyes darting towards the pong table. "You need a partner? Or an opponent?" He grinned lazily, his eyes sliding over to Brielle. "Brielle. You look nice tonight."

Noah had a love-hate relationship with the end of summer celebrations. Generally, the experiences had been pretty good. The free, all-you-can-drink alcoholic beverage buffet because the people of Doveport had the money for that sort of thing and the limitless options for drug dealers were some of the best parts. Plus, Noah really enjoyed seeing all of his friends. However, there was always some bullshit drama and killer headaches that came along with the party. He’d be better off staying at home and playing video games. But, all of his pals were going to be at the party, so he’d be completely alone in that endeavor.

He wanted to spend time with Oliver too.

Handsome and sweet, Noah saw the same thing in him that Elena did. It was a bad thing, a horrible thing. Oliver may have had a drug problem but he himself was one. Noah’s gateway drug to other boys. Clementine had confirmed his suspicions when he couldn’t even bring himself to kiss her. The whole situation left Noah with crippling guilt. Alas, the self-control just wasn’t there and after an Oliverless summer, Noah needed his fixing. And he got it, kind of. Noah had come over earlier but alas, Elena was already there. Briefly he'd hung out with the two before having enough of their gross PDA bullshit.

“Guess I’ll go entertain myself for the time being.” Noah sighed out, feigning his disappointment to Oliver as a light-hearted guilt trip. Before leaving Elena and her man to it, Noah shot an icy glare in her direction followed by a smile. Call him dramatic— Er... He was. Noah was dramatic. And desperately wishing he were The Queen instead of The Mistress.

He spent a good hour or two pacing the beach with a slight irritation for the sand getting into his sneakers. Other than that, it was one of his favorite places to be. It was calming, away from the initial excitement of the partygoers. He was already decently tipsy but not enough. It’d been too long since his last drink, urging him to return to the manor. He pushed through the bikini-clad girls running opposite of him without so much as glance

Sure enough, Noah had missed a lot. It seemed that a lot of people showed up, many he recognized as friends or friends of friends. There were plenty of overlapping circles he didn’t bother himself by delving into and that was for the best. There was enough shit going on in his life.

Anyone else. It could have been anyone else and yet it wasn’t. It made him wonder what he did to deserve it. No matter what the reason was, Noah made a beeline for the kitchen with the intention of pouring straight vodka into his red solo cup. On his way in, he bumped shoulders with none other than Lilith Goode, grade A bitch. And that summer in particular Noah had seen more of her than he wanted to.

He snatched up the vodka bottle after her, not looking at her as he struck up half a conversation. “Tonight should be interesting…” Noah noted, not exactly expecting a response. At least not a nice one. “I’d probably bail if it wasn’t the last part of summer and our high school careers..”

Why was he talking to her? Oh right, he was probably a masochist.

LAMARCUS

the gangster

Outfit: Click | Mood: Relaxed, content

Lamarcus' eyes scanned deeper into the house, as he arrived at the foyer. He could already make out teens at the kitchen further back, and others exiting the backdoor towards the beach, all having a good time in general. At the sight, his lips creased into a smirk, yearning to get lost in the mess that was high school parties. At Elena's greeting, Lamarcus snapped out of the short trance, eyes taking in her red satin dress, and hair done to its usual perfection. It was times like this that made him hate Oliver the more, and unlike Cain, he wasn't going to coat his displeasure with Oliver. His eyes noticeably thinned down at the king bee at Elena's side, and he fought the urge to clench his fist there and then. His smirk vanished for the moment he noticed Oliver, only to return when he set his eyes on Elena once more. The party had just begun, and he wasn't going to let his anger issues get the best of him.

It took a moment for Lamarcus to actually move from his place though, and it was only when Cain was some distance away that he noticed his pal had continued forwards. With that, he shot a fiinal nod towards Elena, before making his way towards the alcohol table. At the sight of the various hard drinks on display, Lamarcus honestly hadn't an idea what he'd be selecting. He wasn't to most picky about what he drank, as long as it gave him a kick, and helped him forget about the night before. That was what he loved about parties, getting so drunk and wasted one night that you didn't remember the events that'd occurred. That way one could party just as hard the next night, with no recollection or standards set for a given night. Albeit definitely had its own negatives, it also helped Lamarcus get looser, and decreased his tension, specifically in times when his neighbourhood block was hot.

With the start of another school year, and his responsibilities all starting up again, it obviously gave Lamarcus some anxiety to wash away with just a bit of alcohol.

He just brought his hands over one of the red solo cups, while simultaneously taking in the party atmosphere once more. He noted Cain and Dorian at the beer pong tables, Elena and Oliver still relatively the focus near to the foyer, and Cameron... drinking? Lamarcus let out a short chuckle, releasing the bottle of gin that was in one hand, and the vodka in the other. The two glasses landed on the marble island with a soft clank, as he reached for the bottle of Hennessy Cameron and Cain had just discarded. "I honestly didn't know you'd be drinking anything but water, but seems you're growin' up, Cam." He teased, though his eyes were still set on the concoction that set before him. "Hope you don't mind me. Just putting together another one of my staple amalgamations." He grinned at his own words, and took another sip of the drink before raising his eyes up between the two.

After being in rehab for a good month, Oliver was having a hard time adjusting to being home. He never liked being home in the first place, but still. This was different.

Each time Oliver stepped into his bathroom, memories would flood back from that night. Things were foggy. Oliver doesn't remember much before his overdosed, but bits and pieces that constantly came rushing to the forefront of his brain made him feel like he was reliving that night all over again.

Tonight his anxiety was more intense than usual. Oliver hadn't seen his classmates in so long, and he feared the questions that would arise. And of course the drugs and alcohol. Oliver was known to go hard at these parties. Tonight he was going to remain sober. He trusted Elena with his whole heart, so if anything she'd know what to do.

Then there was Noah...

Oliver never really thought of guys as attractive until Noah. It was killing him... From the mess of curls he loved caressing his fingers through, his lips, the sparkles that occur when looking into his dark brown eyes... His personality was a major turn on too. Noah and Oliver, they just clicked.

Oliver's constant guilt of their relationship has finally hit its breaking point. He couldn't continue doing this with Noah and still date Elena. It was time to end things with Noah. No matter how much it emotionally tore him apart.

Oliver had been deep in this thoughts while lacing the back of his girlfriends dress. Lacing dresses have become almost second nature to him. Just as he finished up, he immediately jumped back into reality as Elena's petite hand intertwined with his, "Or maybe we can just stay here..." Elena seductively whispered into his ear. One would think that dating Elena since freshman year would mean he's totally used to her sexual advances. They're wrong. She still made his legs weak, heart pound and cheeks turn pink. From her heavenly giggle, Oliver knew she was playing with him.

"Trust me, If we didn't have a party to attend I would've ripped off that dress instead of lacing it up." Oliver then kissed her button nose and wrapped his arm around hers before they left his room.

Oliver and Elena always made an entrance when arriving to events. He couldn't help but enjoy the attention, however Oliver guessed most of the eyes were on Elena. From her sun-kissed skin, hot red lips and the same colored dress that hugged her goddess-like curves. Anyone would be lucky to have this girl wrapped around their arm.

Once leaving the grand staircase, some drunk and horny teen boys tried approaching her, but giving them an icy glare made them back off. Even drunks know who the Alpha is.

Then they arrived. Cain and Lamarcus. The two guys that simply didn't know when to back down.

Oliver faked a smile towards Cain and wrapped his arm around Elena's waist, bringing her in closer, "Sup, guys." He watched as Cain locked his eyes with Elena's. Oliver would've loved to throw a right hook at Cain's smug expressions, but he was better than that... Right?

"Enjoy the party, boss."

Oliver threw a nod at Cain and smirked, "You too." He turned back towards Lamarcus, who was blatantly obvious about his distaste for Oliver. Instead of letting Lamarcus get to him, he kept his smirk and leaned in closer to Elena and winked towards Lamarcus before he walked off, "Enjoy the party too, bud."

Rowan grinned sheepishly as Devon slipped into his passenger seat, lips tinted with the color of roses. Did he put on lipst--..? Oh, no. That was the smell of alcohol.

Rowan's eyes focused on the bottle filled with a kool-aid colored liquid. "Just don't vomit in my Maserati." He joked, though hesitantly, as if he was unsure if he should be humorous. His gaze fell to the plastic bottle a second time. It made his stomach turn to think about that sugary artificial drink. He was all for junk, but that stuff could get to be too much. He still wasn't entirely certain why Devon took such a liking to him, going so far as to adopt him in their sort of "bro squad". He couldn't lie; it was intimidating, but immensely thrilling to be included in a social group. He was always ivy on the wall in flocks of others, with no clue how to root himself elsewhere.

Slowly Devon, Lamarcus, Noah, Dorian and even Oliver were training him on how to live high school life to the fullest. Jake was in there as well, but they hadn't really meshed or spoken much yet. Rowan and Devon reminisced about their summers, tossing out wild (and not-so-wild) memories that they'd carry with them until senility.

The party was bustling with adolescent energy, music fuzzy but clearly audible from the outside. Girls and guys in bathing suits held solo cups in the front yard, grass flattened beneath the soles of their feet. He pondered intensely upon how they didn't itch like fiberglass was embedded in their hides. If not for Devon accompanying, Rowan likely would have sat frozen solid to the driver's seat, nerves shot to high heavens.

It wasn't that he didn't want to be here. It wasn't that he hated parties. But he wasn't going to play the part of some bold center-of-attention main attraction. It simply wasn't in him. It was like asking an Irish four-year-old to speak Mandarin. Still, he craved to be included. Perhaps it was part of being a teenager. The social conformity was deemed necessary in your mind in order to feel happy. It kept sheep safe to stay in herds. Maybe that was why.

There was no turning back now. Devon slung his arm around Rowan's shoulders, tugging him forward with incredible force. He rose his brows, stumbling along like a ragdoll. They honed in on Brielle and Dorian, stopping just a few feet away before Devon detached his mighty hold. Rowan couldn't help grinning, feeling warm at the friendliness and energy that his friend portrayed. He was pleasant to be around. Genuinely just an awesome guy.

Rowan offered a subtle chest high wave, simpering weakly as he debated his next move. Brielle was gorgeous and hard to look away from. Dorian was just as much a friend as Devon, so he was nothing short of relieved and eager to be around them from the get.

[/div] [div class=name]carina.[/div] [div class=nameo]carina.[/div] [/div] [div class=body][div class=scroll]This was a mistake. A huge one at that. Last week she had decided this party was the perfect opportunity to push herself out of her comfort zone. In past years, Carina and Kasper would just have a movie night or do something dumb together because parties weren't really their vibe. But this year was going to be different. Or it was supposed to be, at least. She had gone to Kasper with the idea two weeks ago and he was hesitant, but she insisted. She had a whole plan on working on herself this year so she could start college on a good note. So, actually going to this party was the first step in that plan. But, now that the time has come for her to actually go, she was not so sure she was ready. She paced in her bedroom as she got ready for the party.

She had spent the summer in Doveport, as her family usually did, except this year there was no week vacation in Puerto Rico to visit family. With everything that happened at the end of the last school year after her dad died, her mother felt like they should just take the summer to themselves. She spent her days painting or paddle boarding in the bay, usually heading to the beach in the late afternoon after most of the tourists left so she could think. She was going to therapy twice a week, but they scaled back down to once a week now that she was starting back at school. Clementine was away in California, so she spent her free time with Kasper. Well, when she wasn't painting, in therapy, or at the beach (he hated sand, so she didn't want to force him to go). She had missed visiting her family, but she wasn't quite ready for all the emotions that would bring, so she was grateful for the low-key summer.

Her outfit was simple, just a black tank top and black cropped jeans. It really wasn't much different from her day-to-day looks, but she did straighten her hair for the first time in months. She was ready earlier, but Kasper was running late and she needed to keep herself busy in order to distract from her nerves, so she straightened her hair. Her mother was visiting her sister for the night, so she didn't have to worry about telling her where she was going, which saved her from even more stress. Honestly, she was surprised she hasn't gotten any gray hair from the amount that she does worry. Though her biggest worry wasn't a "what" but a "who". This party was at Lilith's house. Lilith hates her guts, so naturally, she was the last person Carina wanted to see.

Pushing her thoughts to the back of her mind, Carina made her way outside and sat on the sidewalk at the halfway point between her house and Kasper's. She checked her phone. What was taking so long? The longer she waited, the less she wanted to go. Truthfully, the thought of walking into the party made her feel a bit sick. She checked her phone again but no time had passed. Bouncing her leg as she waited, she could see his bedroom light was still on. She let out a sigh and unlocked her phone to call him. Carina waited until he answered to say, [div class=dialogue]"Hey, I'm outside."[/div]

Kasper Kaminski
[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll][div class=text]The house was deathly silent as the youth was locked away in his bedroom, the only noises coming from the scratching of a pen on paper and a clock that sat on a nightstand near his bed. It was rather comfortable and normal for the male to be alone in his house due to the jobs that his parents had. They were very busy people and since he was more or less an adult, they felt comfortable leaving him alone. Normally he would be watching some odd movie that Carina picked out but instead he was procrastinating getting ready for the party. A god-awful party in his opinion. It wasn't really his scene. Everyone was stupid at the first party so he tended to avoid it.

Having a best friend that also disliked parties was a blessing because he had an excuse to miss it and just have one last night of blissful freedom. But this year Carina had boldly decided that she was going to attend the party. Kasper had asked her if she was joking, but after some explaining and pleading, the childhood friends decided they would attend the party together. Still, he didn't think she'd actually want to go through with it. He had hoped that she would back out but she didn't which meant that he also couldn't. A heavy sigh escaped him as he set down his pen, pinching the bridge of his nose, desperate to find a reason to not go to the party.

He had already messaged Carina that he was running late, simply explaining that he wanted to work a bit on his campaign for when the school year started. He was running for president, again, so he wanted to make sure that it went smoothly. However, procrastination could only last for so long and soon the tall blonde was getting up and getting ready for the party. He was a bit clueless when it came to dressing himself but he attempted to find something that wouldn't be horrible to wear. Slipping the red shirt over his head, his phone began to ring, signaling that Carina had finally decided she waited long enough. Kasper was clumsy as he yanked his pants onto his legs and stumbled over to where his phone was. He answered it and was greeted with the gentle voice of his friend.

"You're here already? You that excited to go to the party?" He asked with a light tone, grabbing one of his jackets on the way out. Honestly, the jacket wasn't for him but rather for Carina since he doubted it would be warm by the time they went home. "I'm at the door so I'm hanging up now." Ending the call, Kasper left his house, making sure to lock it behind him before he cheerfully walked over to Carina. "You look pretty tonight." Compliments came from him rather easily and it often got to the point that he was accused of being a flirt. However, he would deflect it by simply saying he was confident. "I haven't seen your hair like this in a long time." Reaching out, he allowed himself to briefly touch her straightened hair, a bright smile on his lips. "You ready?" MADELAINE KINGSTON | 17 | THE CHEERLEADER

Madelaine leaned against the beams of the wooden deck and looked out over the ocean. The smell of the saltwater surrounded her and allowed her a moment of peace. Her mind drifted to a time when she and Aiden would walk the beaches, and when he taught her to surf which had ended quite disastrously. When she and Dorian were kids and would come to pick seashells for her collection. There were a lot of good memories she had of the beach, some that stuck out more than others. Suddenly a voice plucked her from her thoughts and she looked over to see Clementine. Madi wouldn't necessarily call her a friend but she had noticed the girl hanging out with Dorian quite often. . .after hours. It wasn't unusual for her brother to have girls around but Clementine seemed secretive about it and so she chose not to mention it.

"Oh, it's fine. Just taking in the beach views before there are too many drunks out here to enjoy it," she laughed a little. "It was okay. I mostly worked on my photography and cheer. I made time to hang out with a few. . .friends though," she shrugged, thinking about how she had gotten close to Lamarcus. It was quite the odd pair and Madelaine wasn't sure if she liked him as more than a friend with benefits or if it was just the adrenaline she enjoyed. Either way, nobody knew about their connection. If anyone found out it would for sure get back to Dorian and since Lamarcus was his friend, that would be bad. Not that she hadn't been with one of his friends before, Aiden being a prime example, but she and Lamarcus were just different. They hadn't realized who each other was to Dorian until after they'd hooked up and they had chosen to keep it a secret after the fact. That alone was sure to cause drama.

She soon realized she'd been lost in her thoughts again, not uncommon for her. "Oh, Jake. Hey, good to see you," she spoke as her eyes fluttered to the newest addition on the deck. She noticed, through the window, a few more people she knew now gathered in the house. "I guess I should go mingle. I'll see you guys around," she offered a sweet smile before disappearing back inside. Madi pushed through the crowd of people until she got to where she was trying to go. "Bri, you're here!" she said in a rather excited squeal. She threw her arms around her friend in a quick hug, stepping back after she let go. "He's right. You always look great," she said in agreement. "Hey, guys," she added, greeting the others who had gathered around the same area, though her eyes stopped on Aiden.
