The weather the night before had been rather relaxing for Cassidy, even though there was thunder which often scared her, somehow it was still comforting. She had been working on a lot of studying, even though she went to medical school and became a nurse there was still so much she wanted to learn. She took an interest in working a lot with children, she loved every one of the children in the village. They were also innocent and somehow they all managed to get through their own troubles, a lot more than some people. The one that came to mind of course was the mayor, Steve. That man could piss her off like no other and sometimes she was pretty sure thatโ€™s what he was trying to do.

Luckily she was able to get quite a bit of sleep last night, that was usually not the case as she was often stressing over what had happened during the day. She woke up, the sun was shining which was definitely a good sign, she always hated walking to work in the cold rain. Plus, if people were walking around in the cold rain a lot of them would probably get sick, especially Steveโ€™s grandmother who she was really close to. The two of them were nothing alike, so she was easy to get along with and she couldnโ€™t help but laugh when the lady would set her up or try to set her up with somebody.

Cassidy got herself dressed slowly in her nurses outfit, she was going through some notes of who she might have to visit during the day. She would of course stop by the clinic first, before making her rounds around the town. She didnโ€™t know much about animals, but she would definitely check up to make sure the animals were okay. She sipped her coffee, looking over at her TV while she tried to figure out what the weather was going to be, she smiled at the weather girl and found herself reaching over for her jacket. Glancing at the time, she knew was time to get towards work, but she did every intention of making her way there slowly.

She threw on her jacket, leaving her cottage in the woods as she began to glance around the area. She found herself closing her eyes, as she slowly felt the air brushing against her face and her cheeks began to turn a little pink. A part of her did wonder if she would ever meet the right person, the person who might be willing to accept the fact that she does have a very busy schedule. If somebody needs help, she refuses to ever not help them, it was her job and what she was meant to do.

It didnโ€™t take that long and she quickly got to the clinic, she slowly unlocked the door and walked in, hanging her jacket up on the hook before glancing around to see if the doctor was in. She grabbed the clipboard to see what was going on inside the clinic, it didnโ€™t look like it was going to be a very busy day unless a lot of villagers were going to be hurt or otherwise need help.

The blonde plaid wearing female had woken up bright and early this morning just after only being asleep for a few hours it was a late day for opening the bakery till later, just cause it was almost sheering day! A wonderful day for the fluffy flock to loose their fluff to help them stay cool for when the sun starts to get hot! So they needed extra examinations for the time being and the of course animals needed their food, and tending too! Propping herself off her bed, quietly stepping on to the cold wooden floor below to prevent waking up her rather quiet older brother. Rubbing her sapphire eyes in the process. Maybe they should make some new rugs out of the wool this year It would definitely provide so much needed comfort to in the old under decorated waffle family cabin the siblings inherited. Maybe she'll have Xavier request an appointment with the tailor later after his shift. He certainly has a cleaner schedule then she did, Alena thought as she made her way to the old small kitchenette that was probably beyond its time in the corner of their two-bedroom cabin. She still needed to make an order on the spring produce it was strawberry season soon after all and she needed to get the strawberry sheep dough for the bakery, or else business will begin to crumble if Jj gets the cafe's strawberry cake out before her pastries. Alena shook her head making only a pot of a delicious roast blend, "I have to win those tourists first" the blonde pouring herself a cup of coffee in one of the few nonbroken mugs they had left, to get her day rolling. Ah, caffeine how it made all the mornings better, and days. Since she no longer slept that much these days despite being told to by the medical professionals.

Trying to manage between two businesses has been rough but it's good work As Alena so says! Sure it means Alena has been dozing off at the bakery a bit more, but it means good work has gotten done. Once finishing her cup of joe, she ditched her good mug in the sink, the ceramic cup landing with a hard clink, all to go and start her morning work routine. Which was at first gathering together the crates of delicious apples and other goodies she had gotten from her last winter order and some basics and leaving them by the door so that her big brother could load it up into the cart for them. Of course, she leaving a small amount of the apples for themselves; before she exited her house that was on top of a small hill. Early mornings always left such a pleasant feeling.

โ€œOkay, now lets get you all fed and watered,โ€ Alena said to herself, grabbing a wooden bucket heading towards the coop for a start. Leaving the pale at the entryway, she began doing her routine of opening up the little door to let them go into their yard, feeding them, making sure they had water. Her hens were only just waking up, getting a little bit squirmish in the morning as always from being cooped up all night. They often pushed the straw out of their nesting boxes, scrunching it up into the corners of the old shack. It was like a scavenger hunt to gather all the fresh organic eggs she needed to make her pastries so delicious โ€” making a mental note to change out the hens bedding when she gets back from work tonight; the sapphire eyed girl gently placed all the eggs into the bucket.

Taking the bucket gently, she left the small coop, locking its main entryway knowing no one else would try to get in there it was just easier locking it for protection. Dropping off the eggs in her prize old cart designed to be pulled by a sheep she dusted her hands off-putting on a pair of gloves. As she examined where her much larger animals remained in the fields, with her larger animals consisting of a couple of cows grazing the hillside and a rather large flock of sheep, still comfortably asleep being watched over by the humble Waffle canines Floofer and Loafer. They were good Pyrenees they did a great job in guarding the flock and their home! Alena scaled over the fence, slowing her speed to not scare the fluffy sheep. Pulling her prize bell out of her pocket she began ringing it to slowly wake up her beloved animals. How the blonde loved those animals so much she'd do anything to make sure they were safe.

Steve was enjoying his sleep, the dream of millions of women absolutely desiring him was always on his mind. He was obviously in love with just the idea of women being around him, but it didnโ€™t help that he was actually rather obnoxious about it. The only one standing in his way, that freaking annoyance in his life, the one who called himself handsome Jack. In this dream, somehow handsome Jack was there and was making it very hard for him to enjoy his dream. He quickly found himself waking up to his cousin looking at him, he settled quickly and looked over at her.

โ€œ you know, you could just say somethingโ€ฆ. โ€œ Gracie let out a laugh, she quickly laid down on the bed with him as she flipped on the TV. The weather station was on currently, he looked over at it and couldnโ€™t help but let out a sigh of relief that it wasnโ€™t going to rain. Last night was too much, he had many people complaining about their land and how much water was flooding the area. He flopped back down on the bed, looking over at his cousin and smiling. He wasnโ€™t much for children, but he really liked Gracie, she was really amazing for a kid.

Steve was really close to Gracieโ€™s mother, they used to play as children and he would often take care of her. When she got married and had a baby, he couldnโ€™t have been more thrilled for her and he tried to show it. He was often at odds with the Gracieโ€™s father, in fact he was so mad when the man left that he took upon himself to hunt him down. Of course he had no luck, but he couldnโ€™t believe that a man like that would just leave his wife and child. He tried his best to take care of the two of them, feeling like it was his responsibility to make sure they were happy and healthy. Then the unthinkable happenedโ€ฆ.

Gracieโ€™s mother had been complaining about head pain for a while, Steve tried to get her to go visit the doctor numerous times. She finally did, but they got horrible news and the thought that it was too late. She ended up getting sick really fast, she made him promise the whatever happened to her he would take care of her baby. Of course he promised, they had been best friends and more like siblings than anything else. When she died, he just felt like he lost everything at that moment, but he was true to his word, he took care of Gracie.

It hadnโ€™t been easy at first, she was constantly crying and no matter what he did it didnโ€™t seem to help. They would laugh and they would cry together, he would let her get mad and throw things even. Steve had never been a patient man, but when they came to Gracie he had the most patients than any man.

โ€œUncle Steve? Why are you staring at me?โ€ Her little voice broke him out of his thoughts, as he just smiled at her and placed his hand over her head. โ€œ just go get ready for schoolโ€ฆ. I have to go to workโ€ she nodded her head and she quickly ran off to go get ready.

With that he quickly got out of bed and got himself dressed, heading outside the balcony to have a quick smoke before finally yelling for is cousin to come along. As the two of them walked it was probably a funny site, there was Steve looking tough as ever and Gracie who was small, petite and dancing circles around her caregiver.

"Rose! You need to get up!" Rosalyn groaned at the banging on her door, her face currently smooshed into her pillow. "You need to open up shop." Rosalyn rolled onto her back and her eyes fluttered open. There was more banging that mimicked the current banging going on in her head. "I'm up! I'm up!" She called out throwing her pillow at the door. It took Rosalyn a few more minutes before she was even able to get out of bed. You would think with the amount of drinking she did she wouldn't get hang overs. Well you were wrong. Her head was currently pounding, for she drank more than normal last night for a reason she couldn't even remember. Dragging herself out of bed she shuffled over to her dresser and changed into her work clothes. Rosalyn took a moment to look at herself in the mirror. I'm never doing that again. (lies) She quickly brushed her hair before putting it up in a high pony tail. Her mother knocked lightly on the door. "Come in." Her mother opened the door holding in her hand a hot cup of coffee. Rosalyn almost cried at the sight. Like an addict she quickly grabbed the cup from her mother and drank some of it. A satisfied smile on her lips. "Thanks Mom. Don't know what I'd do with out you." Her mother chuckled. "You mean what would you do without Jack. That boy brings you home almost every night. With all that drinking I don't know how you do your job so well. " A bright smile formed on her lips. "Speaking of which." Rosalyn thanked her mother again for the coffee and headed downstairs, a little more pep in her step. When she reached the front door, she placed the now empty mug on the end table and pulled on her black boots. "I'll see you later mom!" She said before heading out the door. Once at the shop, Rosalyn started her routine of starting the fires and getting all her tools in order. She walked over to her desk to look at the papers on it. They were all orders that needed to get done. Rosalyn made things from basic tools like axes and hammers, to swords and even horse shoes. Rosalyn was happy that the rain had finally stopped. She was worried that it wouldn't and would cause business to stall a little. Some things required her to use her tools outside and it was hard to do in the rain. Walking up to the hearth, Rosalyn continued the task that she was working on the previous day before closing time.

Leo Glass/ Kiki Glass
Leo had been up for a few hours already. After all having a six year old child means you have a very odd sleeping schedule, no matter how hard you try. Leo was currently making breakfast for Kiki, who was patiently waiting at the kitchen table coloring in her coloring book. He turned off the stove and pulled out two plate. Placing a large portion on each one. Leo and Kiki recently moved out of his parents' house and he was used to making food for his parents as well, which is why they were currently eating double a normal portion. "Papa, this is a lot." "I'm sorry Love Bug. We'll leave the left overs for later, ok? Put the book away. After you eat I'll take you to school." At the mention of school Kiki roughly stuffed food into her face. Like any kid she didn't like going to school but she really hated it because it meant she was away from Papa. Leo couldn't help but smile softly at his daughter. She was always so cute.

Leo finished breakfast before Kiki, who was currently taking her sweat time eating. "We leave in five minutes. If you aren't packed you won't have any coloring books." At that Kiki quickly ate what she could, leaving a lot left over since she was only a child, and ran to her room to get her stuff ready for school. "I'm ready Papa!!" Kiki held her hand out and Leo grabbed it. He opened the door and letting her go in front of him, then locking the door behind him. "Maybe today you can make some friends." Kiki pouted at this, which just made her look cuter with her piggy tails pouncing as she walked. Leo knew his daughter wasn't good at making friends, he just hoped someone would be brave enough to go up to her.

Jack held a bucket of water in his hand as he started to walk toward the room that belonged to his adopted son. Now why would he have a bucket full of water while walking to the kid's room?? Well it was time for the kid to wake up, he was not gonna be a lazy ass kid as a son. No siree, he didn't care if his son was a troublemaker, a lazy ass son is no good. Once he opened the door to the room, he quietly walked toward the boy bed, before tilting the bucket and letting the water, fall on top of Georgie. "Get up already, your sleep ended 1 hour ago." He said to him before leaving the room. Now that he was done with his first quest, it was time for the second and that was to go take his horse, Jack the Third, out for a run.

As he crossed the bathroom that had a mirror in it, he stopped and went inside to look at himself. "Such a handsome face, no wonder the ladies fall for me." He monotonously said before heading out the bathroom, heading the stairs. Before he could even leave the barn, he stopped and wondered if Dave was awake. But then again, looking at the time, he guessed that said guy would have already been awake and doing his usual work. "Now looking at the time, which is 8am, I currently have two whole hours before I can head over to work. Maybe he could visit Rosalyn along the way? Nah, he would see her later at the pub.

The kitchen light was already potent enough when on, and to be honest, candles would've might as well had gone onto her 'unnecessary and flashy gimmick' list, but it had a special exception. She couldn't put her finger on it, maybe it was just something about the hazy, burnt smell and the honey colored shimmer that'd helped her relax enough to doze off no matter where she'd been, or just that it overpowered the garlic smell that'd been still a happy resident ever since last night's cooking. But whenever candle's flame snuffed out, like a cook's instincts, the smoke always seemed to have woken her up.
Ah.. Just another dream.
When wasn't it?

Stella pushed from her wooden stool and stretched the cramped muscles she had from sleeping on the inn kitchen counter for the fourth time this week. A bad habit really, but she'd like to just think it was better than cruising back home in lumbering rain rather than her avoiding Noriyaki again. Eyes barely open and crusty, she blindly reached for the spring stormy kromer she'd discarded on the swirly dark oak counter some point during sleep. Another day to go.

dc2fbd6-f698867e-bf84-4334-be53-15f06f93b9e8.png
The sun had only been teased over the trees, but even so, she noticed it was peeking up earlier than it had a week ago. Good. She hated the previous winter cold. It was dark and the grass was sticking to her sandals with mud from last night's storm, but she couldn't dwindle valuable private time. Cigarette hanging off her lip, she held her favorite basket and traversed the forest foliage, already having been through so many times the moody lighting didn't matter.

in_the_woods__pixel_version__by_forheksed_dc51mpn-fullview.jpg
Here it was. After rubbing out the cig's cherry red on the dewy forest floor and sticking it into her jean pocket, Stella knelt down to come face-to-face with a bundle of wildberry bushes. "It's that time of year again.. Guess that means you're all getting my special treatment, huh..?" It was silly, speaking to a bush, but even if she wouldn't admit it, she'd grown an attachment to the inanimate objects. With a fond sigh, Stella leaned over, feeling through it's thick branches and carefully searching for any ripe berries. Although she mostly used this 20 minute trip as an excuse to think about things other than work, these suckers often acted as a good breakfast snack so she didn't have to cook for once. And even if she is faaar from the same skill level at preparing sweet things like Alena or J.J were, they still made for ok bars to sell at the inn. Stella quite didn't understand why others liked them. They were honestly kind of bland, but then again, everything seemed to be these days.

With the sheer elegance of a rhino in your mom's fine china cabinet, Stella butted open the back entrance to the inn to avoid dying the door knob with her hands. Accompanied by a bit of eeping and a little penguin waddle to avoid any of the basket contents spilling, Stella finally met one of the inn's tables that patrons would usually use and let the wicker basket fall with a scratchy crinkle of wood meeting wood. In an act of irony and exhaustion, right after all that noise, the tiny girl rubbed her eye with the forgotten dyed hand, making a noticeable violet palm mark before sitting down on the chair like how one would fall. Damn. Stella knew she usually had much more energy than this.. Maybe she should've eaten yesterday, but then again, that one traveller was a pain in the ass to cook for. While shaking her head and bargaining to herself what she should do first, she plucked out one of the berries and slid them into her mouth, slowly chewing. Maybe she can afford a bit of time to relax and have breakfast while she plans her day.

Hey now, the inn's actually pretty nice when it's quiet..

To be fair, Georgie should have seen it coming -- would have seen it coming-- had he not stayed up so late. Normally, he could expect his walking, talking alarm of a guardian and would even have the time to dodge the daily morning waterfall. But no, he had insisted on stretching out in front of the television as long as he could before ultimately being tossed into bed. Now he had to face the consequences, such as not being able to dodge that chilly splash.

Georgie spluttered and coughed. He flopped around dramatically, mussing up his covers. Then, finally, he sat up stiffly in his bed and whined, "DaaaAAAAaaad!"

The perpetrator was already long gone by the time he'd wiped the sleep and water droplets from his lashes. He was too late for revenge. For now.

As he heard the familiar hoofs of their horse clopping away, Georgie peered out the window. He pulled at the skin under his eye and stuck his tongue out; he made a rude noise as his father rode away.

Well. That was just fine, wasn't it! If he didn't wake up the way he wanted to, had no chance to plot and defend himself, then he really ought to take things into his own hands. Yes, it was high time for Georgie to start running things around here.

He would not be drying his hair. He would not be getting dressed for school.

And he would not be brushing his teeth!

Feeling very naughty and smug about it, Georgie slipped out of his bed and into his boots. Once he'd shouldered his backpack and put on his cap, Georgie ran from his room, down the hall, and out the door in his nightclothes.

Then he turned around and ran back inside for a handful of candy breakfast.

And so with chocolate-speckled cheeks, Georgie Jones started his way to school, dragging some stick he'd found along the dirt path and humming idly.

Robert Aureli
Curse Zeus and his needless display of power, last night every single time Robert seemed to be about to drift off into the land of dreams a cursed thunder would jolt him back up. Such a hellish night, but now the distant sound of chirping birds and a ray of sunshine peeping through the curtains signaled the start of a new day of work in Mapletree village, though for the first time in his life Robert wanted to stay in bed just a little longer. Why must mother nature be such a cruel mistress and deprave him of much needed rest? Whatever, Robert was well aware that there was no time for dilly-dallying around. With a loud groan he used what little energy he had to drag himself out of the bed, across the bedroom and into the bathroom. Despite how tired he was at that moment the "young" miner was still lucid enough to understand that a simple face wash wouldn't be enough to wake him up. No, he needed to go beyond, and so Robert turned on the sink, soaked his hands in cold water...and then proceeded to slap himself across the face. Again. And again. And again. And then one last time juuust to be safe.

"Alright, now we are talkin'!" Robert yelled at the top of his lungs. After a few preparations (Showering, changing his clothes, nursing his poor cheeks, etc.) Robert was ready to set off and start his morning when a radio transmission caught his attention: "๐“ฑ๐“ฒ, ๐“˜'๐“ถ ๐“ฝ๐“ฑ๐“ฎ ๐”€๐“ฎ๐“ช๐“ฝ๐“ฑ๐“ฎ๐“ป ๐“ต๐“ช๐“ญ๐”‚ ๐“ฏ๐“ธ๐“ป ๐“œ๐“ช๐“น๐“ต๐“ฎ๐“ฝ๐“ป๐“ฎ๐“ฎ ๐“ฟ๐“ฒ๐“ต๐“ต๐“ช๐“ฐ๐“ฎ! A jacket huh? How cumbersome, with the start of spring Robert had hoped that winter apparels would be a thing of the past. Although, getting sick and taken care of by nurse Cassidy didn't sound like such a bad deal...then again that would also mean a direct encounter with doctor Organ...a jacket it was then.

Despite such an eventful night Mapletree village appeared to have been blessed with quite the beautiful day, so at least mother nature was merciful in that regard. As he made his way through the village Robert briefly pondered about the effectiveness of his slapping technique. Sure, he was awake for the time being, but that would only last for so long and the last thing he needed was to pass out inside his mine cart. The answer to this problem was obvious though: Jona's cafe, a little piece of the city right on the countryside. And what a coincidence, he was standing right in front of the shop. "Yooooohoooo, are you open yet J.J.? I am in dire need of my mornin' brew!"

    โ™ซ A New Year's Forecast โ™ซ
Carried upon the wind of a sharp inhale, consciousness slipped back into a deserted body as it gazed absentmindedly upon a world already ahead of him. "How long had it been since the rain stopped?" โ€” an amused Charles wondered aloud amidst his waking stir, prying his ink marked forearms from the parchment he leaned on. A moment of complex emotion befell him at the sight, but just like a river, the weight passed into a distant sea. "Those words were fickle to abandon their page, I'm at fault for making their relationship so simple," he grounded himself with a downward tuck of his hat, finding his focus back upon the world beyond the small window.

The sky appeared no less vague than the night prior, but the world glistened and sparkled as if the stars he so dearly cherished had fallen upon the earth. It was unusual, butโ€” it made him yearn to be anywhere other than the quiet library he called home; he wanted to go outside. "Iโ€”" the sweeping brim of his cap hastily sunk, he wanted to leave, "I'm feeling claustrophobicโ€”" he muttered to a degree nearing a whimper, subduing an arising of excuses yearning for momentary escape from the confines of this self-imposed 'inherited duty.'

The thought drills into his head: Desperately. Anywhere...

"Ohhh!! For inspirations sakeโ€” I see no harm, nyhehe!" a giddy expression screaming of suppressed, childish glee sprung so naturally to his face, a perfect fit anyone would admitโ€” had anyone seen it for these last few years. But, just as precious things so commonly do, it had gone missing from all but memories. Perhaps, this time around, what has been lost can be wholly found. He holds out hope in the reborn year as the mental stasis relinquishes a portion of himself for the world to see, he'll hold back on his ghostly presence this time around.

A dangerous hunch or simple desire for connection? Something was coming, he can just feel it.

And soโ€” with an anxious, yet optimistic exhale, he stepped outside andโ€”

JJ

It seemed like no one was in the cafe, but was shortly proven wrong when JJโ€™s head poked up from behind the counter. She squinted, as if struggling to see who it was outside, before putting up a peace sign as a greeting. She appeared to have gained two new bandaids overnight while everyone was away doing their own thing; One on her chin and the other across her nose.
She shortly stood up, seemingly wobbly at first before emerging from around the counter wearing a matching pair of red roller skates. She gave yet another sign of greeting by waving as she made her way to the door, turning on the lights and the open sign. Finally she greeted him with an open door and a smile.

โ€œHey, dude! Was just tying these bad boys on!โ€

She lifted a foot up to show off her skates, only to briefly lose balance. Thankfully, however, she caught herself in time on the door frame.

โ€œMy old ones were already pretty scratched, which is a new record for me!โ€

Acting like nothing happened, she skated her way back to her originating spot, hands behind her back as she did so (which she probably shouldnโ€™t be so confident in this stage of learning).

โ€œWhat were you in the mood for? Cappuccino? Latte? Plain old coffee?โ€

The morning sun shone through the window and Nedda woke up in a jolt. She stirred a little before she slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes, stifling a yawn. Scratching her head, she swung her legs over her bed and proceed to get ready for the day. It was a new day, a new season, a new year. She had loads of herbs and other things to stock up at the pharmacy as well as new medicine to try and come up with. After a quick shower, Nedda put on her usual work clothes; a simple sweater, shorts and her robe. She then proceeded to brush her hair and went down to the kitchen.

Cracking open a few eggs, the pan sizzled and the smell started to wafer in the house. "And here comes Nikhil" she muttered to herself as she glanced at her brother's room door. Just as she predicted, the door slowly opened and her brother's sleepy self emerged. "Sis.. are you making an omelette..?" he asked, walking towards her to see what was causing the delightful smell. "What do you think?" She asked with a small smile and ruffled his hair. Despite the fact that they dont interact much in the view of outsiders, Nedda did cherish her little brother greatly as she had been lonely in the past when everyone had moved out. Granted, she could've followed them but she was more interested in the work here. Besides, why change when you're comfortable with things here and how they are?

"Use this for my omelette.." Nikhil said, passing her a small jar that somehow appeared in his hand and he left. Nedda shot him a confused look as she watch him head to the bathroom. Looking at the jar, she got intrigued and opened it, sniffing in the contents. In the jar, there was small red flakes and the smell was prickly. "Probably spices" she concluded and dumped quite a bit in the omelette she was currently making and served it on a plate. She placed it on the table and proceeded to make hers, which was a rolled omelette with sugar.

"Nik, I'm heading out" Nedda shouted as she finished her meal. Her brother always took so long in the bathroom, she never wants to know what he's doing there. "Your egg's on the table, it's going to get cold if you don't come out soon" she said at the bathroom door before she left.

Walking down Mapletree was always a pleasure. The wind is nice, the weather is pleasantly warm, Nedda took her time admiring the view as well as the various plants along the way. "I wonder what else I need to stock up on" she wondered to herself as she casually stopped every now and then to pick up a herb that looked either interesting or something she'd use later on. She noticed the other people from the village coming out to start their work and casually went on by. She sometimes ponder as to how to open conversations with anyone other than her brother as she had lived here for years but never truly talked to anyone other than people that came in to buy her medicine. Then again, why would they come to her small shop when the doctor's clinic right there next to hers? Shrugging to that thought, Nedda unlocked the door to her pharmacy and went in, changing the closed sign to an open one.

Nikhil groaned as he turned in his sleep, cuddling closer to his pillow more. It was such a nice dream, a nice position to sleep, why oh why did his body decide to wake him up? He opened his eyes sleepily for a moment, trying to recall what his dream was about. Maybe it was an adventure? Or maybe he had some sort of prophecy that he might meet someone nice and get to know them? He chuckled softly at the fantasy of that. Not that there was anything wrong with how his life was right now, but it would be nice to live with someone other than his sister, pretty sure that Nedda is at the age where she is slowly fantasizing of romance as well. He laid on his tummy as his thoughts trailed on until his nose got a whiff of something yummy. Eggs..? He stood up and looked around his room for his satchel, taking out the red chilli pepper flakes he came across while working and had bought a bottle to bring back. Licking his lips as he imagined how it would taste, Nikhil opened the door of his room, his eye still half closed.

"Sis.. are you making an omelette..?" He asked, walking towards her to get a better view of the thing she was making. He himself was horrible at cooking so it was nice that Nedda would cook for him now and then. "What do you think?" Nedda replied with a small smiled and ruffled his hair. Nikhil glanced at the pan and saw a yellow circle. Smells like egg, should be an omelette. He gave a small nod while Nedda looked at the egg and handed the jar to her. ""Use this for my omelette.." he said and went towards the bathroom.

In the bathroom, Nikhil went towards the bathtub and started to draw himself a bath. Work wouldn't start in a few more hours for him so he had the time to spare. Looking around the bathroom, he found some bath salts and bubbly soap and threw it in, chuckling happily as the smell delighted him and the bath started to become more foamy. He got in with a long happy sigh and began to play around with the foam, the vanilla and chamomile smell making him feel sleepy again. He closed his eyes for a abit, feeling totally relaxed.

"Nik I'm heading out!" he heard his sister shout and his eyes shot open. Nedda going out means that he had at least two more hours left to open the General Store. "Your egg's on the table, it's going to get cold if you don't come out soon" she continued saying right outside the bathroom. Nikhil hurriedly rinsed off and cleared the bathtub, having forgotten about his omelette the moment he went in the bath. After drying off and putting on his clothes, he stepped out of the bathroom and went to the kitchen.

Looking at his omelette, Nikhil became excited. "I wonder how it'll taste like" he thought to himself and sat down, taking a mouthful of his omelette. Sure enough, the red pepper flakes gave his omelette the nice zing it needed, but it was short lived. "Hmm.. the flakes were pretty good but its not enough.." He thought to himself and frowned. His sister was an okay cook and the food was edible and nice, but maybe he needed a professional for this. His mind made up, Nikhil hurriedly cleaned up and headed out.

Nikhil walked albeit lazily, enjoying the view the same as his sister, but viewing the world a little differently. He had his mind set on two things; one, wondering what can or cannot be sold at the general store and whether or not he had the means for logistics or maybe he could find a farmer and commission them to grow the certain thing and two, to find Stella. He patted his satchel where the jar of red pepper flakes were and headed out to the Inn.

Standing outside the Inn, Nikhil stood there, staring at the door as he contemplated whether the Inn was already open or if anyone was already awake. He honestly could not remember if the Inn was already open or not and did not think to check the opening hours at the board right next to him. Hearing some sounds from the inside, Nikhil took that as a sign that someone was awake and proceeded to enter.

"Stella..?" He called out as he entered the Inn, scanning the place for the person he was looking for.

Back in the suburbs, he and his buddies would always make a point to get drunk and goof off out in storms. Little to say with the things they did, he wouldn't be surprised if they were the reason why cable always had those warnings to not reenact what's shown up on TV. However, that love for the sky's grand spectacles of power had soured when he discovered it wasn't communal within the ranch. And at nights, the overhead crackling wouldn't be the only loud thing, because soon all the farm animals would join into the long range symphony. Little to say it concerned Noriyaki that he couldn't tell apart the hellish screams from genuine pain, so as always, he'd give up the comfort of his sweet, sweet bed and begrudgingly bring along the thickest pair of earmuffs to camp out in the barn. It was the easiest to fall asleep that way, feeling assured that if anything ended up flooding or breaking, his precious family wouldn't have to handle it by themselves. After all, a respectable captain always goes down with his ship.
Unfortunately, it seemed like when he did this, the worst of nightmares would arrive.
Wonder why.

Slurp, slurp.
depositphotos_9903487-stock-photo-wet-hay-straw-background-texture.jpg
Scratchy and wet wasn't a good combination. Whether it be a soaked sweater or sleeping on a damp, sticky pile of hay, it really never seems to end well. Slowly fluttering his eyes open, the sleeping beauty's awakening was quickened he realized someone was licking his hand. A gasp and a loud squawk, Yaki yanked himself out of hay cluster only to end up falling onto the muddy straw below. Aw jeez, this was his favorite coat too! "AughHH! HEY! Who do you think you are, jackass?!" Positioned like a gangly, broken twig, he glowered up toward his attacker--receiving only but a deadpan, bovine gaze back. It took Yaki a few moments to recognize its cow face, but when he did.. "... Pia?" The towering Friesian, rather confuzzled, snuffed out of her baby pink blowholes in response. "Pia!!!" He outstretched his arms and couldn't confine the giddy smile that proceeded. "Oh ya damn angel, you saved me from that Maleboge! How you've been?!" The mare snorted and backed off the giggly maniac hugging her, her white fur now rustled from his petting hands. And as soon as she did, it didn't take take long for Yaki to realize what exactly was wrong with this scenario. ".... Uh." Yaki looked around the barn. It wasn't at it's best state after the storm, but it was definitely a lot better than it could've been, considering not much has been touched on for years. "Oh.. Aw crud, Pia girl... You broke out of your stall again, huh?"

The sun had seeped through the blinds, dangling from the sky like overly plump christmas ornament. Yaki had just gotten the morning stable work and stall repair off his list, all while wearing the muddy parka since bright colors tended to freak out the cows, and he wasn't willing to bet whether or not his tattoos fell in that category. Though he had to admit, it might've been getting a little out of season for a jacket. He was glad. It was a pain to keep the animals inside from the snow, as much as they wanted to be free, free, free.
Maybe he should do something to celebrate their start in the spring... When it was winter, Yaki spent the majority of it painting murals inside the stables. Sure, the livestock were probably smart enough to tell those weren't actual fields with cozy springtime scenery, but maybe it made the wait a little easier, who knows.. The tough thing was figuring out kind of things he could afford.
"Ugh.. Do cows and goats like munching dandelions? Maybe there's some cheap seeds out there.." He glanced toward the phone on his counter, wiping his mouth of toothpaste residue. "How would I know? You're the farmer boy here." The other side answered with a raspy voice, a side effect from smoking so many years. It wasn't unusual for the two old time friends to call every week, she being his only connection to the city and he being her only outside connection. Putting his phone between his shoulder and neck, the boy strolled past coat rack left to the door to discard his muddied parka. Tank tops should be fine in this weather.
"Take them out on cow-walks, give 'em ice cream or somethin', what'd you usually do man?"
Yaki winced and took her off speaker. "Pretty sure that would upset them. I usually just pet them when they're good, but I'm beginning to think they're getting too used to 'em.."
"... You pet cows?"
"Why? Hehe, ya have a problem with that?" Swinging open the wobbly, chipped door, Yaki exited the dainty little grandma home. Once he landed on the soggy grass ground, he drew a heavy breath and was pleasantly surprised. Ah. That nice, crisp after-rain air was such a nice change from the polluted city, it was of the things that made this forsaken town a wee bit more bearable. Just when he could've forgot about about her, the other side of the phone gave a wishful sigh. "Man, you're always complaining about it, but I wish I could live in the countryside to pet cows and romance the townpeople.." Ah. Right. Yaki chuckled and rolled his eyes. "You read too many books, Bea."

Some point during the walk, earphones snugged themselves into their respective places like two slithery snakes before Yaki even really made a conscious thought about it. It was habitual, meet a townperson, blare up music and pretend like you didn't notice them. Not like Yaki went out much into town anyways, but whenever he needed to, it wasn't that far of a stretch to say that Yaki felt immensely out of place, especially with the fact that he pretty much looked like everything that embodied a criminal.
Yaki wish he could say he had plans, but in all reality, he was drawing up a blank.
Fully repairing the barn instead of just relying on duct tape was always an option, but he had the tolerance as the Witch from Oz did to water when it came to socialization, and he had no idea who even specialized in that sorta thing in town or if he had enough money in the first place. For today, he had commission work he needed to do, and he couldn't graffiti inside. This meant finding his usual places, and usually an obscure spot in town without any grass did the job. Doing commissions always gave him genius ideas, and maybe, just maybe, he'll come up with something along the way. With a backpack full of spray cans sticking out and a canvas with stencils held in arm, he trotted over puddles carefully as not to get any mud on his dearest supplies.

At least, that was until the dirt pathway branched off into a sharp, left turn.
Bristling up like a mortified cat, Yaki nearly shriveled into his jacket when he saw another tinier, livelier being walking in the pathway he was just about to head into--mother of god. Yaki never thought that something so terrifying could walk out in broad daylight so confidently, so full of life yet so ready to stretch out every last will to live. A kid, a crazy-looking one dressed in pajamas with chocolate smears no less, was walking lonesome without parents.
Hell no. Noriyaki was not going to babysit someone else's tiny goblin.
Yaki spun on his heel and quickly noped out, speeding up his pace into a walk-run. He'll just spraypaint somewhere else. It's fine. Everything is fine. Please let everything be fine. Dear god, please, please don't notice him-

The silence was interrupted.
Stella nearly fell out of her seat when a voice slithered it's way into the inn's confines, having a look of existential crisis when she was caught snacking on her berries. With a wooden screech, the leg ground across the floor when she pushed out of the table, "y-YES?!" Upon realizing her voice was a cracked mess, she quickly made a note in her head not to use it anymore than she needed to. Being quite unfamiliar with everyone around the town these days aside from Rosalyn and the creepy waiter(what was his name again..? Stephen? Jones? A combination of them both?!), it took looking at the man standing across the room a few seconds to realize just who she was caught having breakfast by. The clerk! Of course, she visited his place for ingredients--was he here for breakfast? Just then, Stella's face went about as red as the mark on her eye, she thought the inn hadn't opened yet! How humiliating! As fast as she could've, the short girl quickly bowed. "Welcome! Um," Oh dear, where were Rosalyn and Stones(No, on second thought, that combination didn't sound right..) at a time like this? After desperately looking around the room, she kneaded her hands and bit the bottom of her lip while straightening herself back up.
"D-did you want something?" It came out in a whisper, which thankfully, due to the silence of the inn, was actually audible. Stella awkwardly wiped the berry juice off her face with the sleeve of her turtleneck after a hard swallow, standing almost as if she was trying to cover the berry crime scene behind her.

Robert Aureli
Ah there she was, the one and only J.J, now sporting some brand new fashionable band-aids. Noticing the fact that she still had her roller blades on briefly concerned Robert, specially when she almost fell over, because the last thing the miner needed was for her to trip and spill boiling coffee all over him. Whatever, her coffee was worth any potential third degree burns, so rather than further worrying about it Robert simply greeted her back by doing finger guns. "'Eyyy, if it isn't the person I am happiest to see during mornings! What's up bro?" Said Robert with a wide grin before entering the cafe, seating himself near a window. Briefly peeking outside revealed the presence of the village's pharmacist, Nedda, doing some foraging nearby. "Oh ye, that reminds me I outta swing by the pharmacy later to pick up some more painkillers."

โ€œWhat were you in the mood for? Cappuccino? Latte? Plain old coffee?โ€

Robert's attention was shifted back towards J.J and he took a moment to consider his options. While personally he always preferred the taste of cappuccino over any other type of coffee it was just simply not the right choice for the time being, though maybe that would be the case once he was done with work. "Gonna be needing that magical plain coffee of yours 'cause I need a proper pick-me-up so I don't doze off in the mines. Keep it black, I'll add some sugar to it myself. And throw in any pastries you recommend. By the way, how long do you reckon will take before you master those bad boys?" Said Robert, referring to Jona's roller blades.

David Flannagan
Flannagan Farm

Dave hated mornings. Honestly, if anyone did, they were probably a masochist. He groaned as his old timey alarm clock rung, making that familiar shrill ringing sound as he put the thing on sleep. He slowly crawled out of bed, walking into the kitchen to grab some ingredients so he could get some waffles from Alena. That's when he heard the sound of screaming and splashing. Probably Jack and Georgie. It was...interesting living with them, but he managed. They pulled their weight. Dave slowly began taking out the various ingredients. Milk, eggs, flour, etc. He had an arrangement with Alena: he brought the ingredients, and she gave him a free waffle with toppings. Just as he was about to go get dressed, Georgie came flying passed him, not even dressed. Dave tried to stop the boy, but the meek man was no match for the hellion, and the kid was gone like greased lighting. The farmer sighed, rubbing his eyes as he went to throw some clothes on.

Since the bakery didn't open until later, Dave used the time to care for his animals and tend his crops. He grabbed his tools, and threw a bone to Cecil, his humble little fluffball. He found the puppy not too long ago, finding shelter in his barn during a storm. Dave quickly adopted the puppy, and had been caring for him ever since. He was still too young to follow him around the farm, but the floofer was just fine. Dave first went to cleaning and watering his horse, Cid. After that came his two cows, Milkshake and Winnie the Moo. He gently cleaned his bovine friends, whispering calming words as he milked them, afterwards bottling the milk, putting one bottle in the cheese maker, and the other in the fridge. He of course made sure the cows were fed, and that they didn't have any health problems.

Then it went to his four chickens, affectionately named Mary Poppins, Chick-eel O'Neil, Chickovsky, and Mother Clucker, the latter of which was the oldest. After petting the cluckers, he gave them lots of homemade chicken feed, as well as collecting the eggs, and storing two in the fridge, and put the other two in the shipping crate.

Finally, it came to the crops. He meticulously watered each and every crop, having to fill up his water can a few times. By the end of it, he was covered in sweat, and was pretty much exhausted. He leaned against the stone fence he'd erected around his crops, letting out a long sigh as he stared up at the sky. He'd moved in not too long ago, but he still felt like a stranger. Jack had been trying to get him to be more social, and it was working...somewhat. Dave was still an absolute wallflower, and had little skill in wooing women, or just being social in general. But maybe if he found a girlfriend, his mother would finally stop bothering him in her letters. That would be wonderful...

Right after opening her store, Nedda went ahead to check on the medicine she had out front to check on its conditions, especially those that had been out there the longest. Those nearing a month before it was going to expire are those that are going to be a liability thus Nedda would either bring it home or throw them out. Humming a small tune as she checked, she began to take out those that were going to expire and placed them on the counter in front of her, not expecting any customers anytime soon as the day had just started. As she cleared quite a few of the medicine, the empty spots began to be noticeable.

"Hmm.. I need to get more of the stock and make more medicine while I'm at it.." she hummed and faced the counter, taking out a card to place on the table that said "Please ring the bell on the counter; will be at the back for a bit!". Nedda collected the bottles of medicine that she had taken out and placed them in a basket, leaving them aside on the counter with another sign that said "do not touch or take, if you do i wont be held responsible for what happens".

Taking note of what was missing, Nedda went towards the backroom, looking at the newly made stock. Remembering that she had picked up quite a few things along the way, she placed the herbs she collected in their respective compartments with satisfaction. Nothing is better than an organized workplace! As she glanced at the items she had, she began to take out a few of the herbs and placed them on the counter of her lab and started boiling some of the water to start making new medicine, forgetting for a moment that she was supposed to be placing new stock outside.

"A-ah" Nikhil exclaimed, watching as Stella jumped up a little. She looked like she was in the middle of something and was seriously surprised. Nikhil had a small panic attack on the inside that maybe the Inn wasn't opened yet? He blinked, suddenly anxious that he might have done something wrong. He looked around and saw that the place was quite empty, the only person he saw was Stella. His small worries grew a little, feeling bad that he might have interrupted her small break if the Inn wasn't opened yet. Maybe he should just silently leave out the door? No, there was no time for that, plus Stella had already seen him and that would make things a whole lot more awkward, especially since she did buy stuff from his store now and then.

"Welcome! Um," he heard her say and snapped out of his thoughts. "D-did you want something?"

"Oh, uhm" he started to say, going in the Inn properly and closing the door behind him. He made his way towards her and noticed some berries behind her as well as her swallowing something. Stella had wiped her mouth but some of the berry stain was there, including the berry stain on her eye. Seeing the mess, he chuckled softly as it reminded him of when he and his sister tried to make berry jam somehow by blending berries, which probably was not how you make jam in the first place, and forgetting to cover the blender before turning it on. Out of habit, Nikhil took out a handkerchief from his pocket and gently pat the stain on Stella's eye, getting rid of most of it.

"Hmm.. its almost gone.." he said to himself, staring at the stain for a moment. A small realization that this person was not his sister crept up and he immediately backed away, his face full on red and eyes wide. "Uhm, oh gosh I'm so sorry!" he exclaimed, bowing as to ask for forgiveness. "Nedda tends to be clumsy and get stains on her all the time I- Im really sorry" he stammers, looking everywhere but the person in front of him.

Clearing his throat to somehow hide his embarrassment, he stuffed the stained handkerchief back into his pocket and open his satchel, rummaging around it to find the jar which was the whole point of him going there. "I uh, I heard that you like spicy food so I was wondering if you could make something with this" He said, handing out the jar of red pepper flakes. He took a moment as he looked at Stella and his face turned red as he remembered what he just did and instead placed the jar on the table, taking a small step back in hopes that he didnt make her feel uncomfortable.

Cassidy was not exactly sure how she was supposed to respond to the doctor, she was definitely an odd one but it seemed like Cassidy could handle that mostly. She reached over grabbing the papers out of her bag, smiling as she handed over the paperwork to the doctor. โ€œOh yes, you know I will always get this done so that we donโ€™t waste any time with any of that, after all who knows whoโ€™s going to need us todayโ€ฆ.โ€ She did want to ask why she seemed to want Cassidy to get sick, but she quickly shook her head and made an attempt to move forward.

โ€œWhat were you working on doctor?โ€ She moved slightly to see if she could peek into the room behind the doctor, she figured there was something odd about what was going on. Although she didnโ€™t want to accuse the doctor of such things, but she quickly bowed her head as she made her way to set her bag down.
