What seemed like 1000 years almost turned into a blur, the Hua Empire had started to fall apart. Corruption had started to riddle the court as different factions attempted to vie for control of the throne. The cracks began to show as the Golden ave bandits rose up attempting to take overthrow the Hua Empire and free the land of the corrupt court. But despite this the bandits were divided thanks to the strength of the Imperial Army, but it was already far too late. When the bandits were quelled, fighting in the court became evermore prevalent. Two factions in the court had gain prominence, the first supported the Brother of the Emperor and the Imperial Marshal, Han Jue. The other was lead by a powerful eunuch who wished to take over the court, Jin She and place the Emperor's younger cousin on the throne to have control over the empire. Amidst the chaos, fighting in the court was prevalent and a number of some of the court's officials were murdered including the Imperial Marshal and the eunuch. With some notable members of the court fill, this gave way for an ambitious warlord to take the Empire for himself. One certain Zhong Ying, the Viceroy of the Western Territories who pacified the Golden Wave bandits on top of rebellions in the territories had one of the most veteran armies in the land.
The capital was pacified and the court was at the mercy of Zhong's advisors and the strength of his army was known throughout the land. Zhong Ying put the nine year old Prince of Xuabei on the throne while Zhong Ying named himself Chancellor of the Realm. At the behest of the loyal Hua ministers, the Empire had failed to live up to the majesty of its predecessors. The people were still suffering while Zhong annihilated anyone who opposed him sometimes annihilating whole clans of imperial officials who dared question his authority. This treachery will no longer be tolerated. An alliance has been mustered to march on the capital and depose the traitor, heroes will be made but can the empire be restored?
1.No age requirements but be prepared to handle topics of physical and mental trauma. While physical trauma is a topic in this rp, don't be too explicit with things like torture and gore.
2.This roleplay takes inspiration from Romance of the Three Kingdoms. If by any chance you aren't familiar with the story no worries, this is more of a loose interpretation. Some events maybe replicated and can be explained with historical context if you're confused.
3.Character selection is pretty diverse asides from face claims which will be of any art style you feel comfy with that fit the aesthetic of wuxia/ancient china. Roles however are heavily varied, you can be a religious sect leader, a wandering warrior, decorated general, cunning strategist, warrior princess, corrupted statesman, a powerful warlord and many more! LGTQ+ identities are also encouraged.
4.The rp will be divided into different arcs, with events of each arc affecting the next one. Characters will age and develop until you decide to kill off your own character(s), at which point you can create new characters or opt out if you wish.
5.We will have a sandbox style rp so you are encouraged to plot storylines with your characters and those of other players to develop the overarching story that we will develop as we go along.
6.Discord is a requirement for ooc plotting given how extensive this rp can become so be wary of that before showing interest.
Baoshi
the imperial provinceThe seat of prosperity with multiple empires preceding the Hua, Baoshi was said to be graced by Heaven with fair weather, fertile soil, and flat terrain. With a sophisticated network of roads and cities. The Imperial City sits here and is recognized as the legitimate seat of power for the country.
Nandi
the southern provinceNandi is protected by three rivers and thick forests providing a natural barrier to protect the province from any attacks effectively. The weather is warmer further south you go, if you were to invade in the summer and the south peoples don't get you then the heat and the regions diseases will.
Taijia
the mountain provinceTaijia enjoys similar natural defenses to Nandi, where they were protected by rivers, Taijia is surrounded by mountain ranges. With proper ruling and strategy, Taijia can be a perfectly defendable province that can withstand any attack. The castles sit atop mountains making them ample positions to be defended on
Wushui
the fortress provinceThe frontier for the Hua Dynasty, established as a military centric province to expand further west to cement control over the western territories. The province is littered with mountain ranges and fortress cities. The people here know nothing but war and everything related to it, they breed the best horses and train the finest soldiers.
Jingguo
the river provinceJingguo sits at an intersection connecting Baoshi, Nandi, and Taijia. The rivers end here and the forests create natural corridors to navigate the province. The province has served as a battleground in the past decades for control over the country .
state of the land
After the Golden Wave Bandit Rebellion, new warlords had risen to power to serve the Hua Dynasty in order to put down rebellions and riots should they prop up. In turn this has caused a few disputes between neighboring lords over territory, especially with those with more commanderies than their neighbors.
While there was fighting in the capital, the warlords had attempted to gain more land for themselves by coercing, threatening, or invading their neighbors to take over their lands or turn them into clients. But with warlords being assembled to save the Hua as they did before, many of them put aside their differences in order to gain more glory and favor with the Imperial court.
Remnants of the Golden Wave Bandits still tread the country pillaging villages and threatening lords. As a result, many martial sects had taken initiative in protecting villages and temples from bandits.
