"When there's troou-ble you know whooo to caaall

After leaving her room in a random direction, Annie started singing a totally original theme song to her future anime series. She had wanted a show of her own ever since she saw that first episode of Pretty the Anime all those years ago. For once, though, this singing spree wasn't entirely random. Gwen had apparently deemed it fit to leave Francesca's note right outside her doorstep, and when she was done tripping on it, the young girl could barely contain her excitement.

Dear Ms. Brooks,

I recently discovered this thing called 'anime.' Do you know what that is?

Just thinking about it put a smile on her face. While Francesca was pretty obviously old-fashioned, Annie never would've guessed that she didn't know what anime is. It seemed like her billionaire elder had a lot to learn, and Annie was itching to enlighten her.

She was about to finish the final chorus when Aimi's voice overlapped with hers. She was telling her to ignore a...message? What message? When Annie stopped to focus, she could slowly make out the sound of--

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Kyaa!" Annie was brought back to reality when she heard a crash from just down the hall. Her memory wasn't the best, but she could barely recognize May's room, the door left slightly ajar. A cold fear slowly spread inside her, growing with every scream that came from outside. Her legs seemed weighed down by lead, each step echoing louder in the aftermath of booming gunshots. Finally, her trembling hands touched the door and gave a light push.

"Um...wuh?" It seemed as though she could hardly find the breath to speak. Warm air rushed in through the broken windows of May's room, carrying the scent of the blood splattered across fragments of glass. Her eyes locked on to a single maid, gun in hand, staring down the window with a maniacal glare.

"MAAAAAY!" Even in shock, Annie quickly recognized the scene she saw before her: May had become a victim of cold-blooded murder. A bright light flashed behind her as the ceiling began to break to pieces. The head of her mech tore through the floor above them like paper, kneeling to allow easy access into its chest. Soon after the maid's form disappeared behind the door of Annie's command center, she activated the thrusters on her suit and threw herself forward in a blind fit of rage.

The three gunshots were what let Una know that the party had already started. When she her 'rival' May crash straight down into the top of a car screaming out in agony the fourteen year old could feel the bile rising in her throat. May wasn't supposed to die yet. No one said she could go and get herself killed. Who the hell gave her permission to do that... vomit splattered onto the floor, just as smoke began bursting into the lobby. A warm hand pulled her down to the ground behind a sofa just before the spray of bullets was unleashed like a heavy metal rain shower. Una turned her head to see Pam.

"Transform and prove to me you don't die so easily."

Una watched the little chef hop over the sofa disappear into the smoke. Una wiped the foul bile from her lip and let out laugh. All that talk and here she was throwing up behind a couch! Pitiful. Una rose to her feet, transforming in an instant. Her beautiful blue dress puffed out from her form and her hair tumbled down her back. Two blue balls of light lit up next to her head on each side. Khana and Korola.

"Unaaaaa what's happening?" Khana asked in confusion.

"Open your eyes, we're being shot at!" Korola responded. "We've got your back Princess."

Una nodded, and spray of bullets whizzed towards Una. Her dress flashed yellow, and a golden brick wall appeared between her and the bullets, sending them tumbling to the ground harmlessly. A single gloved hand rose to brush Una's hair back. And a quiet laugh left the girl's mouth.

With a yell Una made a declaration. "Princess Peril is here!" As if on que, the smoke was completley cleared from the lobby by a powerful gust of wind.. Princess Peril didn't flinch.

"Khana, sword~." Princess Peril commanded happily.

"Yes ma'am!" In a flash of golden light a golden broad sword was in Una's right hand. "You stay on defense Korola. Let's go!"

Her princess slippers pushed through the ground, sending the golden magical girl speeding towards the soldiers. Bullets came her way but the golden wall of light never let them reach her. As she reached the soldiers, the wall turned on its, own, exposing Princess Peril to a soldier. In one slash she cut him down. She turned her attention to the next one. The golden sword flew forward and embedded itself in the chest of another soldier before returning to its fairy form. More bullets came from the other side of the lobby, but her wall was too busy blocking the lead in front of her. With a cute little spin she spun out of the path of all but a few of the bullets that embedded themselves into her shoulder. Blood trickled to the ground, and made her grunt in a brief burst of pain. This only made Princess Peril stumble for a moment. She sped forward again with a joyful smile on her face, cutting down soldiers with one fairy weapon, and protecting herself with the other as a simple brick wall.

"Look at me go!" She'd cheer a soldier looked down to see both of his arms on the ground next to him. Red stains splattered onto her golden dress, which she didn't notice yet.

"Do you see me guys? I'm kicking ass over here!" Any sense of doubt was gone from the girl's mind. One result of turned Lemon was that her confidence level was at a new level. If left alone Princess Peril would just keep on fighting until there was no one left to shoot at her.

One the top floor of the tower, the pink haired maid Emerie had taken up a position at a window. From there she had a direct view on the gheist emerging from the sea through the scope of her sniper rifle. It was a powerful rifle, but it sacrificed power for firing speed. Emerie had no intention of shooting at the gheist though. She didn't want to give away her position in case whoever was attacking the girls downstairs had eyes on the rooftops of other buildings.

"I have eyes on the gheist. It's a lot bigger in person... hell if it's standing on the ocean floor this thing could destroy this city in minutes I'd bet. The girls better get over there quick before it gets too close."

Suddenly the floor beneath her began to tremble. "What the hell is happening now?"

Ruri heard a cry from behind her - the exact little brat she did not want to hear.

"MAAAAAY!"

In the half-second that it took for Annie to transform, Ruri already knew exactly what she was going to try. The gargantuan mech thrust forward, ripping into the greenhouse room above, and spattering debris everywhere. As its metal hand thrust out to grab her, it almost look like she was caught - almost. In a flash of blinding speed, Ruri had propelled herself upwards with in-human agility, and landed neatly on the arm of the mech. From her sleeve popped out what appeared to be an ink-pen of some sort. She quickly brought it up to level as she sprung out the window backwards, and then let-loose a stream of a sticky tar-like substance all over the head of the mech. Seemingly blinding it.

The bottoms of her high-heels gave her a short boost upwards landing her safely on the roof, but she had company. It was her pink haired "co-worker" Emerie. Ruri's landing on the roof would have been loud enough to alert Emerie and give her just moments to react to Ruri bringing her high-calibur handgun up to kill Emerie.

Soft-spoken and polite to everyone he meets. He particularly revers Liv as his creator and shows the utmost respect to her.

606727
One of the newest additions to Liv's collection. Like Masa, she is soft-spoken, but is shyer than him. Lilia adores Liv like an older sister.
Liv watched as more girls slowly trickled into the lobby. Once everyone arrived, they were going to start... Doing whatever they needed to do, but she still wasn’t sure if-

Three shots rang out, followed by a loud crash and scream from outside. Liv instinctively flinched and tried to turn to look at whatever made the sound, but Jerod’s hands shot out and covered her eyes.

”Wha- Jerod,“ Liv frowned and reached up to pry his tiny hands away, even though, frankly, they aren’t doing much to cover her sight.

“No, nuh-uh, you do not want to see that,” Jerod said. Liv registered a tremor in his voice, and heard the shocked and dismayed outcries of several other girls. She distinctly noted May’s name being mentioned. She frowned, stomach dropping with unease. But before she could do anything else, multiple explosions went off in the lobby.

Liv let out a little screech and ducked. The space was quickly being engulfed in smoke, and the ceiling was collapsing. Liv threw her hands up to shield her and Jerod’s heads. Amidst the chaos, she just barely heard Miss Fuka’s instructions along with several gunshots. A bullet shot past her head, grazing her ear. Liv screamed and ducked to the floor.

“Liv, we gotta move! Like now!” Jerod yelled.

With a whimper, she ignored the pain and blood dribbling down the side of her face, forcing herself to run on trembling legs. But the smoke obscured her vision. She had no idea where she was going until she came close enough to a man to see him. He immediately turned his gun on her, and Liv let out a wail.

“Oh no, you don’t!” Jerod growled. He leapt off of Liv’s shoulder and produced two knives from his sleeves. The man seemed to have been taken off-guard for just a brief second, but that was enough for Jerod to launch the knives. They imbedded themselves into the man’s head and neck with a wet noise. Without so much as a grunt, the man fell forward lifelessly.

Liv stared at the body in shock, hands coming to cover her mouth as a sickening feeling clawed its way up.

“Liv, snap out of it! Look, smoke’s clearing!”

Liv head snapped up, and indeed, the lobby was almost completely free of smoke. She could already see several of her allies with bloodied wounds. Gritting her teeth, Liv pushed past her fear and made a decision. This isn't like training, where her fellow magical girls would hold back before dealing any real injuries. Here, it was either them or her and her allies. This was their chance for a counterstrike before the enemies could do any more damage. She didn’t have much time before people start shooting at her again, so she had to move quickly.

Dropping to her knees, Liv set down her messenger bag and tore it open in her haste. Two more of her sweethearts lay inside, and she needed all the help she could get. Hovering her hand over them, she activated her magic.

The two twitched, then they both blinked as they came into awareness. Masa, the black-haired one, wearing a dark, traditional Japanese outfit, sat up first.

“Hello, mistress- Wait, what is going on here?” Masa asked, looking around in confusion.

“I-is the tower being attacked?” a soft, girlish voice asked. Lilia peeked her ribbon-endowed head out from behind Masa.

“Guys, maybe a little less questions and a little more help?” Jerod called out. He squawked as he barely jumped out of the path of a bullet before throwing his knives at the enemies with precision.

”We need to drive those men out. Please, help Jerod out and anyone else who needs it,” Liv said as she staggered back to her feet.

“Of course, mistress,” Masa said with a bow of his head. He unsheathed a katana and hurried to join Jerod in the fray.

”Be careful!” Liv called after him.

“I will stay and protect you, mistress,” Lilia looked up at Liv with big, doe eyes, as though asking her for permission.

Liv has never been a strong combatant, in or out of transformation. Having Lilia by her side would be reassuring, and she could lessen the chances of Liv getting hurt and being a burden to everyone. With a deep breath, she nodded.

”Yes, please help me out Lilia.”

Lilia smiled and pulled out a barbed whip, ready to defend her mistress.

As Emerie stared down at the gheist, she noticed something else poking out of the sea next to it. At first she thought it was part of the gheist, but it was different. It was... a submarine? Who the hell was getting that close to that monster? Could someone be controlling it? Emerie knew she had to tell Fuka quickly.

"Hey, Fuka. I think a su-" Emerie stopped speaking, instead turning as fast as her muscles would allow, firing a shot from her rifle at the sudden footsteps landing on the roof. She was barely fast enough, as the bullet managed to clip her left arm just after her own shot rang off. "What the hell Ruri!?" Emerie said in an angry surprise. She slipped her hand between her breasts grabbing two little metal orbs. She threw them down between her and Ruri, and took off running towards the edge of the building. She didn't how the hell Ruri had gotten up onto the roof so quickly, but she knew damn well she wasn't gonna wait to ask.

Ka-thump. Ka-thump. Ka-thump.

Annie watched as the screen for her visual monitors went dark. For a moment she flew straight towards a rather peaceful abyss, listening only to the methodical sound of her heartbeat. Ever since she first became a Magical Girl, it had a certain metallic ting to it, almost as though it were no longer fully human. There were many changes to her body that came with her new form, but the one she noticed the most was the way her heart refused to beat fast.

Calm, quiet. Now that she no longer faced a scene covered in blood, her rage slowly transformed into something heavy. She could acknowledge that something was happening in Pretty Tower, something that made even Fuka panic. She would need to report the possibility of spies within the ranks of their caretakers. And finally, in the midst of the silence, she could listen...

"Cease war! Embrace the future! Turn to the sky!"

"It's them..." As Annie stared deep into the void, listening to the mesmerizing voice of the Gheists, she remembered the first time their message reached her ears. It was dark then, too, as she stared up at the black night sky from inside the hole she was meant to die in. All she could do was watch as Gheists consumed the world, a vision that was somehow both sad and beautiful. Was this, she wondered, the kind of world that Pretty died trying to create?

No. Pretty sought an end to war, too. But her vision was a brighter one, one filled with peace and hope and happiness. She was a hero. And as Annie made her mech's eyes glow with the light of burning plasma, she knew that right now she needed to be one too.

The tar-like substance on her suit's head burned. Annie's monitors flickered back on as she got her bearings, her senses coming back to her all at once. She found herself standing on a building several meters away from Pretty Tower's newest hole. She could see the Gheist in the distance, slowly raising from beneath the surface of the ocean. From the looks of it, the maid disappeared beyond her line of sight onto the rooftop. As for May...

Annie's eyes widened in shock when she saw Creamy Swirl. She used her thrusters to leap, glide across a row of buildings, and land with a thud over the injured Magical Girl. "May!" She dug out any rubble that happened to land near/on top of her, exiting the suit to kneel next to her limp body. "May! Are you alright?!"

Cleo Donovan

Lyudmila’s bitter remarks weren’t something Cleo is completely unfamiliar with. Out of every girl who had gathered here in this tower, she was the most serious, and maybe even the most dedicated, after all. The white-haired magical girl gave a little shrug as response as she entertained herself with the drama happening on the other side--Pamela, filled with raging energy, pissing off at Una, the rest trying to comfort Luce, who was crying…Aimi doing the thing Fuka wanted her to...

And then it hit her. That’s it? Why’s everyone else from Squad A?

Where’s their squad leader, Annie? And..

Where’s Ma---” The question blurted out as she was thinking. However, fate seemed to have answered her question itself as three loud bangs’ could be heard from the floor above. Immediately, the girl looked up, but what really shifted her attention was the loud crashing sound that followed after and the blood-curdling screams of a girl she was all too familiar with. Cleo’s golden eyes looked to the girl outside who had her body skewered onto the car she collapsed onto, and could almost imagine her expression as she cried out in agony.

There she is, she thought but didn’t say, but time did not allow her to process her suspicions of what had happened. The sudden explosions that followed next as well as the dozens of men that had breached through the entrance made all events seemed a bit too rushed. Fuka’s command entered her ear, making her squad’s goal clear. Cleo quickly registered everything that had occurred so far, briefly glancing toward Lyudmila as she signaled for her to follow her.

At that moment, she had complied. The girl moved about swiftly, rather agile, and dodged several bullets that were aimed at her. In her magical girl form, both her strength and speed had increased significantly. The military grade smoke bombs that were released into the air burnt her vision and made her throat dry, but Cleo was able to pull through. That was not to say she became immune to it, however, as her vision did blur, and there was a light burning sense of pain as a bullet scraped through her cheek, a single streak of blood began to trail its way down her white skin.

Was it you?” Just as the bullet hurt her, however, she had set small explosions below her feet as she jumped to allow her to dash forward quickly using the backlash of her explosion. Within seconds, Cleo had zoomed toward a man who was pointing his gun at her, their distance closing to only a few inches as the girl had her hand tightly gripped to his throat. She was smiling, but it seemed menacing, her tone, despite the calmness, was low and quite frankly, threatening. From this distance, even in this smoke she could still see him clearly. Was it you who wounded me, Cleo meant. She didn’t say the full thing though, as the next moment a loud, powerful explosion had settled on the man’s head. It burst open the man’s skull, blood poured out and dampened her hand, splattered onto her face. It’s been awhile since she killed someone in such a cruel fashion, but something in her told Cleo that she should not pity him, that he's far from innocent to start with.

Cleo let go of the male. She raised her hand, and with a white beam of light a rifle gun--her dear Ignis--had appeared. At the same time, white balls of light settled around her and exploded nearly all at once. She could hear the men’s gasps and grunts as they fell back from their original plan to surround her. A couple of shots targeted those who managed to crawl back up.

She skimmed her surroundings, narrowing her eyes. Lyud...There she is, crushing up the men in her own way, ready to move on alone if she won’t catch up soon. Cleo began dashing toward her, but as she looked over to the multiple entrances of the tower that still have men pouring in, she came to the realization that exiting from one of them may not be the best idea. Furthermore, the smoke was once again clouding her vision--

Fortunately, Aimi held her position. Her mighty scythe cleansed some of the guards as well as the air while yelling an obvious command. The girl was able to observe her surroundings briefly, before seemingly settle down on a decision. Just as Lyudmila was ready to move on, a wall of mini, white explosions blasted in front of her as to prevent her from going off on herself. Cleo caught up from behind.

Listen,” she managed to say among this mess. She had no idea where Annie is--something else seemed to be happening aside from this chaos right now but now isn’t the time to be worrying about that. As far as she’s concerned, she’d taken over the role of the squad leader temporarily. “I have a plan,” she tilted her head in the angle of the men blocking the multiple entrances, then pointed toward the open window that she had seen Luce previously jumping out to.

“Men are still blocking all entrances and it’d be natural to think there’s more of them outside. But we’re undermanned right now, our squad’s down from five to three,” she looked to Lyudmila, then at Aimi who was lashing out at the guards. “A Gheist is out there controlling people’s brains and ready to step out of the ocean anytime. We don’t have time, neither do we have the strength to waste or get unnecessary injuries.

At times like these, teamwork would be best. Cleo was still smiling, a small smile that hinted of her wild nature, but her eyes were serious and stern. She stared at Lyudmila as she spoke, and spoke slightly louder once Aimi was close enough to them for her to hear as well. “I say we leave through that window and go through the back alley’s secret pathway behind the tower, it’d be a shortcut to get to the ocean faster (by half a block only, though) and we’d have less men to fight. Save energy and time.

White bullets of explosions blasted through each man that was approaching them, her little white light bombs were bombing off like fireworks in the sky, making those crackling voices.

Squad A would handle these men. Our goal is the Gheist. And fighting a monster like that with just three magical girls are harsh enough. These were Cleo’s thoughts as she shared her plan, waiting for the others’ response. Maybe she’s the squad leader right now, but something felt off for her to actually give out commands. She’d make sure everyone else followed her decision before she actually acted it out, but they didn’t have much time to think. Already, she was turning to face toward that window, ready to execute out her idea in mind.

So where’s Annie exactly? Maybe the hero appears last.

“Listen,” Aimi whipped her head over, finally noticing that others from her Squad had begun to take action. Annie, however, seemed to be missing from the lobby. Listen to Cleo, should anything happen to Annie... Aimi hope for the best, but there wasn't time to try and find her. Knowing their leader, Squad B would probably meet up with her later. “I have a plan,” Cleo drew Aimi's attention to what she had now dubbed, "The Escape Window". Akuma, too far to hear the rest of Cleo's words, jumped back and skidded to a halt, remaining turned towards the enemy, while she tried to hear Cleo's words. “A Gheist is out there controlling people’s brains and ready to step out of the ocean anytime. We don’t have time, neither do we have the strength to waste or get unnecessary injuries.” Akuma grimaced, realizing the gravity of the situation fully. Her fear, formerly all-encompassing, began to melt away. Being scared now. playing the hero now, was selfish. All Aimi wanted to do was make people happy, and she can't do that without a smile on her face, can she?

“I say we leave through that window and go through the back alley’s secret pathway behind the tower, it’d be a shortcut to get to the ocean faster (by half a block only, though) and we’d have less men to fight. Save energy and time.” Aimi nodded firmly, grim expression apparent on her face. Before she could reply with anything, though, a shot grazed the magical girl's face by an inch, sending her hair flying behind her. Aimi nervously looked over at the group of guards taking advantage of their pow-wow. She frowned, then turned her head just far enough that Cleo and Lyudmila could hear her speak. "I'm normally the first to tap out during training, but... I have an idea that might buy us and Squad A a bit more time. I'll be right behind in just a moment." Her gaze narrowed at the enemy in front of her. "I won't let these guys hurt you. Go, please!"

With her scythe held firmly in her right hand, and her mic in the left, Aimi rushed towards the guards approaching, sliding beneath them with her weapon extended. Any of the men hit with the blade would have their legs severed, while those hit only with the hilt would just fall over for a moment. Taking this opportunity of vulnerability, Akuma flicked on her mic and activated her charm.
"All intruders of Pretty Tower, drop your weapons, now!" Whether this worked or not, Aimi wasn't about to stick around long enough to find out. She trusted that Squad A would be able to secure the tower, and then hopefully meet up with her own squad at Ground Zero. Cape trailing, Aimi rushed back to Cleo and Lyudmila, grabbing their hands, eyes shining with tears of fear and, for some odd reason, excitement. "The guards should be easier to deal with now...maybe..? L-let's go before the Gheist brings the fight to us." With these parting words, Aimi hoisted herself through the window with the hilt of her scythe, into the city.

Pan Pan

Pamela's other victory was short lived as her pan made several ping- like noises made from other bullets. The Mexican looked over and saw another man, on foot shooting at her. The girl pulled the trigger but nothing came out, to her surprise.

"Mierda"

The word slip out of Pamela's mouth. The man was still shooting and her pan was blocking her so she had no weapon. An idea popped on her head. It was stupid but it could work. Pamela slowly came closer to the man whole her pan blocked the incoming bullets. She then threw the empty gun a t him with tranquil rage. The weapon hit his head, making him fall over. Pamela walked over, put her leg on his chest to stop him from moving, took his gun and looked at him in the eye with a smirk

"Hasta la vista, nene"

Those were the last words that man ever heard because Pamela Delgado shot him on the head. She spied another one shooting at Una while she was slashing away some guy. The brunette jumped over and hit the man with the pan, knocking him out instantly. Pamela then took out her Butcher Knife and swung it at another one, whose head now tumbling on the floor with blood trailing behind it. She then proceeded to shoot the upcoming ones from the safety of her pan. Her aim was still wobbly though and Pam had to switch to her Butcher Knife and chop some other heads.

The trembling of the floor took her off balance, literally making her fall. She quickly stood back up to feel another bullet whizz past her shoulder, making her growl. What the hell was going on up there?

"All intruders of Pretty Tower, drop your weapons, now!"

Was that Aimi? Pamela looked over to the men. They didn't seem like they were charmed and definately didn't lower their weapons. Looks like the Charming Voice was totally ineffective. Pamela seized her chance and ran over to the man, jumped and split apart the man's head. She could see a nasty pinkish side that might be a brain in two ways. His skull wasn't so thick now. The body could be useful in a biology lesson. Pamela removed her now bloody Butcher Knife and got ready for another attack.

Just Outside Pretty Tower

Annie's mech landed right in the middle of a slaughter-fest. Several civilians all around her appeared to be slowly walking towards the direction of the gheist, and one by one sniper rounds rang off picking each civilian off. Additionally, Annie would be able to see the outside of Pretty Tower. It appeared at the moment several soldiers were stationed outside, firing into the building, while others were falling back. The smoke had fully dissipated inside, allowing Annie clear vision inside. Around Annie, soldiers from supposedly other teams retreated upon seeing her Mech, not having any weapons to deal with it.

All that aside, what really was important is if May is alive.

May was not there....

She had seemingly vanished. Fabric of her clothing magical girl clothing was still on mangled mess of a car, and to the right of the car was a streak of blood. What happened to her?

By the time Annie would look up to check her surroundings again, the soldiers assailing Pretty Tower had retreated.

Pretty Tower Lobby (Enemy)

Jack knew that this mission would be dangerous, but a few of these girls were absolutely like nothing he had seen before. The initial attack was seemingly going well. They had the element of surprise, along with taking down a few girls. Then two separate blasts from two different sources sent the men near him flying. All of this caused a sudden clearing of the smoke, allowing him to have clear view of a princess like girl cleaving through some of his allies. He shot a few rounds at her, but then she twirled out of the way with inhuman speed, he dove behind a pillar for cover in reaction. He was shocked at the speed some of these girls displayed.

"Squad Alpha cover squad Bravo's retreat, fall back to your designated positions. We kept the girls in one place for long enough." The boss sounded calm as always. This reassured Jack that things would be fine. Squad Alpha, which was stationed outside, opened fire into the building just long-enough for the team inside to retreat. Jack was about to follow, but he received a large thwap on the back of his head. He fell over, and as his vision faded, the last thing he saw was a girl with a chef apron on.

Pretty Tower Lobby (Fuka & Co)

Fuka stood her ground, able to take bullets the streams of bullets hitting her, and opened fire on a pair of men getting dangerously close to Claire who was crawling to cover. Both were dropped in an instant. Fuka spotted Liv's doll making short work of a man, and Una gleefully darting about the lobby holding the enemy off. Not to mention Pam absolutely destroying several men by making use of the enemies own weapons. It also appeared Squad B had left the building, so this gave Fuka confidence that the girls would hold there own down here.

With a single upwards bound, Fuka sprung through one of the penetrated holes to the second floor. A few men were up here covering the perimeter of the building, quickly she dashed to one with blinding speed, disarmed him, and turned his own gun on him. With several rhythmic taps of the trigger, all the men remaining on the second floor were killed. Fuka wanted to continue opening fire on the men she saw retreating in the streets past Annie's mech (She hoped Annie had a good excuse for being so late), but her guns magazine was dry. For a moment she considered going back to the lobby, but those gunshots earlier came from a floor above. The girls would be fine on their own (At-least Fuka thought that) so she took off upstairs to find the source of the commotion.

--

The lobby was cleared, and the girls had repelled the attack. Approximately 10-15 bodies of the attackers were strung across the lobby either dead or wounded. Annie's mech was visible outside near where May had fallen. Going outside would be a perilous task due to it being apparent there were snipers posted somewhere. This was obvious because many civilians walking about were being picked off one by one via precision shots. If the girls were brave enough to retrieve May, they would find nothing. A keen eye could discern that amidst the chaos, it appeared she was forcefully ripped from the wreckage, and taken away.

Squad A had many choices available to them. They could try and link up with Squad B, which would be a great boon to them considering they were undermanned. Doing this would leave the tower undefended. Squad A could try to find what happened to May, which would more than likely lead them to the enemy. This could net them valuable information on how this group operates/where they operate, but it might not be worth the time (Plus they might not even find her). Dealing with the snipers, gunmen, and other things killing innocents also could serve as a priority too. Hell, even providing triage to the wounded enemy soldiers might prove useful to. It was up to Squad A to decide what was needed right now.

Pretty Tower Roof (Ruri)

Emerie had deftly thrown two orbs between the two. Ruri did not want to wait and find out how lethal these things were, and instead elected to boost herself to the rooftop door via her specially modified shoes. As she boosted herself towards safety, she let two shots ring out in rapid succession, both missing Emerie by inches. Once safely inside, Ruri would begin making her decent. She spoke into a small transmitter that appeared to be a brooch on her maid outfit, "This is Nightingale Operator 2 - leaving the building. Took out one girl, and provided access to the assault team. They have a mech, advise we call in one of ours, over..." Ruri began to descend, hoping that she would be able to escape the building unhindered.

New York Streets

Squad B managed to exit the building without trouble, and Cleo's clever plan had paid off. The alley way they decided to take had circumvented any major groups of enemies. As they approached the ocean, they could already seeing the Gheist coming into view. Half of it's body was contained underwater - this meant that this thing was truly enormous. Their route to the Gheist had been easy, too easy.

Just one block away from their destination, a sewer entrance suddenly popped open, the metal grate flying upwards and into the side of a building. However, before the metal grate even made impact with the building, a blur moved with blinding speed towards Cleo. They had a blade in hand, and would go for a swift strike to one of her limbs - attempting to sever it.

Liv didn’t think that she has ever felt so... So useless in her life before. Jerod and Masa were working together seamlessly – the latter got up and personal with the enemies and delivered kill-strikes as the former covered his six. Lilia made short work of anyone who tried to get to Liv, the whip efficiently striking down ranged enemies. Their weapons were made from the best materials that Liv could find, with generous help from Miss Francesca.

Still, Lilia couldn’t react in time to multiple enemies at once, and Liv suffered more bullet wound in her left arm. Without her own means to attack, Liv could only back herself up against the wall and cry out to Lilia for help whenever she spotted an enemy. Any training done with Miss Fuka felt useless in a life-or-death situation. Shame gripped Liv’s heart as she swallowed back frustrated tears.

A barrage of bullets suddenly shot into the lobby. Liv shrieked and pressed herself closer to the wall. From the corner of her eyes, she saw a bullet go through Masa’s hand, the impact shattering it to pieces. At the same time, the enemies began to retreat. Jerod let out an outraged cry and tried to chase after them, but Masa grabbed his collar with his remaining hand and tugged him back.

After what felt like both seconds and an eternity, the rain of bullets ceased. Save from the bloodied remains of men on the ground, their enemies have disappeared.

Relief flooded through Liv along with disbelief that she’d actually survived the attack. But her heart leapt to her throat when she saw Masa coming over with Jerod.

”Oh, Masa! Your hand!” Liv closed the distance between them and knelt down. She carefully took what remained of his arm and inspected it. The damage certainly wasn’t minor, but it was salvageable.
“This is no big deal mistress. I can still wield my katana with my other hand,” Masa said, as though he already sensed what Liv was going to say.

”I know you can Masa, but the enemies are gone now, and Squad B should already be dealing with the Gheists now,” Liv replied. At least, she hoped they were. Logically, they could and perhaps should go assist them. At the same time, she didn’t want to be caught in any more fights after what they’ve already gone through. The adrenaline from their battle was fading away, and her arm and ear were starting to sear with pain. She didn’t think her heart could take it if more damage came to her sweethearts. Liv just hoped those in Squad B were more capable than she was and could handle the Gheists by themselves for the time being.

“Not... All the enemies are gone,” Lilia spoke quietly, pointing a finger towards one man, then another, “That one, and that one...”

Liv looked at each of the men that Lilia pointed out. Indeed, while most were dead, some still moved minutely as they breathed. Jerod raised an eyebrow and walked next to one of them, nudging the man’s head with a foot.

“Ha, not so tough now, are you? We should just kill them all,” Jerod sneered, raising a bloodied knife.

No,” Liv said sternly. Jerod flinched and looked up at her like a kicked puppy. Deflating, she said, exhausted, “Please, enough bloodshed for now.”

Jerod grumbled something that sounded like an apology and hid the knife behind his back, head hanging dejectedly. Masa sighed and patted him on the back.

”Still, we need to do something about them,” Liv murmured as she stood up. She spotted Ophelia and jogged up to her ”Ophelia, dear, are you alright?” Perhaps not, as most of them seemed to have suffered some injuries. Liv couldn’t spot Luce, Claire, or Miss Fuka, and if she recalled correctly, something happened to May, but she forgot to ask Jerod about that. She even spotted Annie’s mocha outside the building for some reason. Everything was a mess.

”Some of the men are still alive, so we should restrain them,” Liv suggested. “There are also injuries to be dealt with, Squad B to think about, not to mention some of us are missing...” she held her head and sighed, unable to think clearly about the entire situation. The shame she felt before clawed its way back up, but she forced it down. Perhaps this was why Ophelia was appointed leader of Squad A – she was one of the most level-headed girls on the team, after all. “I’m sorry, I’m just not sure what should be done, and I was hoping for some direction.”

Luce put her head in her hands and sniffled. A cacophony of screams, shots and rumbles rang out in her small cubby. She wanted to help. She wanted to help so, so badly. It was her first battle and she was already failing— She couldn’t let that happen, right?

But Luce knew that she would be all too easy to pick off if she left her small haven. She could barely move her legs, and blood was still pumping down her chest. Ah, I’ll have to get a new outfit then. She thought weakly.

Taking shaky breaths Luce closed her eyes and started counting. 1, 2, 3. She just had to focus on the numbers and the pain would fade away. 12, 13, 14. Just a bit longer.

61, 62, 63. She fluttered her eyes open to a blaring silence. Blinking rapidly, she tapped the side of her ears. Alright, so I’m not deaf. To her panic, the solid wall she had set up started flickering before dropping.

Letting out a sigh she pulled herself out from the hiding spot. Either the soldiers were gone or the Pretty Protectors were. She was going to die a coward. Blood pooled under her and she dragged herself forward, the wounds flaring up with a fiery pain.

Her eyes lit when she saw the unmistakable design of a poofy dress; That was no soldier. Summoning all the strength she had left in her, she pushed herself up and made a run for the girl.

Luce made it a few meters before blood-loss brought her down again, this time with the girl under her. She landed with a thud on top of the girl she had toppled. Rolling away with a groan she looked over at the small Mexican girl she had seen in training.

Pointing to her wound with heaving breaths, she gasped, ”You heal, r-right? Please help...” At this point Luce was teetering on the edge of unconsciousness, with Pam as her only lifeboat.

Claire's clothes and hands were slick with blood. Her face was streaked with tears, and she could still taste rancid smoke and vomit in her mouth.

But she was alive.

Grimacing in pain, Claire gripped the cover she was behind for support as she slowly rose from the ground. Her legs trembled as she clutched her stomach wound, constantly hissing and groaning before she made it to her feet. She was hunched over as she took her deck of cards, and she struggled to keep from collapsing as she limped forward. She shuffled and drew a Tarot card, moving towards different men.

"The Star. The Star. The Star."

She repeated the effects of the Star card, causing a healing light to dance between each of her target's wounds. Claire could tell that many had died immediately, such as one man whose arms were both completely separated from his shoulders. Even if they weren't dead, the effects of her card could only heal minor wounds, and the most she could do for most injuries was momentarily stop the bleeding.

Claire's eyes lit up with hope when she noticed one of her targets react to the healing effects immediately. He didn't have any visible wounds despite the blood that covered his clothes, and it seemed that her healing was able to cure any existing injuries. She turned to the other magical girls. "Guys, I think this one's al—"

The man had been grounded when Claire looked at him, but the moment she turned he sprung to his feet and made a dash for her. He wrapped his arm around her neck and seemed to flick something on his helmet before drawing a weapon and pointing it at the girl's head.

The man projected his voice across the lobby. "Drop your weapons, or I shoot the bitch! No one gets hurt as long as I can make it out of this hellhole in one piece!"

Claire audibly choked as she raised one hand away from her wound, struggling to get the man's arm off of her throat. Her other hand held the Tarot cards, and she slipped her fingers around one card in particular while allowing the others to fall to the floor. Her eyes edged towards the card as she held it at an angle that she could see it.

"Page....of Coins....!"

Starting from where she held the man's arm, a golden hue spread across his entire outfit. Suddenly, his already heavy gear was turned into pure gold, which was heavy enough to bring his arm down off her neck. She dropped to the floor, quickly turning and recovering to her feet. The enemy swore as the burdensome weight left him struggling to stand up straight, and he slowly lowered his body to the ground. Claire breathed a shaky sigh of relief as she gathered the 77 Tarot cards that had spilled across the floor.

She turned her attention to the other magical girls in the lobby. "I'm not sure what we should do next, but somebody's alive!"

Pan Pan

Pamela had just slices off a man and had punched him away once she knocked out Una's attacker. He should be important if other soldier was coming for him. The girl wiped the sweat off her brow and noticed the men left, to her anger. Who was going to clean this up later?

Pamela didn't have much time to think because she suddenly felt another figure fall on top of her. Her instincts shot up and was ready to push them off before she heard a voice.

”You heal, r-right? Please help...”

Pamela's eyes widened as she heard the voice of a fellow Magical Girl, her name was either Luz or Luca or..Luce! The chef gently placed her in a sitting position and inspected her wounds. She then summoned a one of her favourite Heal Snacks, a tamale.

The Mexican snack was warm as Pamela cut off a piece and made Luce eat it up slowly. The image of her wounds slowly healing was disturbing, since she had to see the process of blood clotting and such. She continued feeding her until she heard

"Guys, I think this one's al—"

The sound of a struggle

"Drop your weapons, or I shoot the bitch! No one gets hurt as long as I can make it out of this hellhole in one piece!"

Pamela grit her teeth as she slowly stood up and glared at the man. She was about to do something before Claire turned his clothes into...Gold? The heaviness slowed down his movements and made Pamela give Luce the almost finished tamale and a smile before taking the unconscious body of the important guy and dragged him to the Tarot girl with a scowl on her face.

"Why did you do that? You could've been killed!"

Pamela's voice was surprisingly low but harsh. The last thing she wanted was to clean up a friend's corpse. The brunette sighed

"So, Miss Fortune, do you have any card that can tie these guys up?"

Pamela asked, using Claire's Magical Girl name for safety reasons as she looted the important guy. She saw a chip thing of some sort and smashed it. The Mexican dropped him and made her way back to Luce, checking if her wounds had healed completely.

Lyudmila Zima
Lyudmila had moved along swiftly with the members of Squad B that were present. She had been impressed with how quickly Cleo had thought of the plan to get around the zone of conflict and engage the gheist with as little interruption as possible. If the three of them would be enough to take on the gheist however... That was another question. Just where the hell is Annie, if anyone should be fighting a gheist on the front lines its her and that mech. It was a very real possibility in Lyudmila's mind that this would all go awry. Well many civilians have already died, even more will. There is nothing we can do about that. That is just how it is. She did not feel particularly guilty for ignoring that fact for the most part. However she had some anxieties about her teammates, not everyone could sit by and let innocents love their lives.

Well no one is innocent here. The mysterious attackers are killers, we are killers ourselves. And those civilians would be killers if they were put in either of our situations. I have no time to spare for pity.

As the group drew closer and closer to the ocean the gheist became more and more clear in their views. It was a huge thing, far bigger than Annie's mech. But no matter how strong this thing was. Lyudmila was sure that her squad would find a way to kill it one way or another.

Lyudmila's eyes darted towards the sewer entrance as the grate had been blasted off and the figure swiftly emerged. The grey, cyborg like man rushed towards Cleo with blade in hand. Cleo won't be able to react to that... And we need her in the best shape she can be to fight that gheist... Alright then.

She easily matched the blinding speed of their opponent. She gave Cleo a hard barge to the side with her shoulder, moving her out of harms way.

Lyudmila raised her right arm and let the mans sword cut into it, and as it did so a smile crept across her face. "Got you." She had hardened the bone and muscles around the sword as it had been passing through her arm so that it was trapped in there. Before the man could react she swung her head forward and delivered a headbutt to the red eye that was glowing where his face ought to be, sending him sprawling backwards to recover.

She jumped back herself afterwards, sword still in her arm. "rrrch" She took hold of its handle and with a grunt of pain yanked it out herself. The wound on her arm began to be covered in a crystal like substance. Better to be safe right now than sorry later. Let's hope it heals in time.

Claire flinched in response to Pamela's rage. "I'm sorry...I just didn't want anyone to die. I've never been surrounded by so many dead bodies before..."

She finished collecting her deck of cards and nervously shuffled them. She held up her Knight of Coins in response to Pam's question. "I think this will work as a way to restrain them. Knight of Coins!"

A glow emanated from the card, and a bright light flashed into being beside the girl. When the light disappeared, it revealed a 15 foot tall stone golem in the rough shape of a human. She turned to it and gave it an order while pointing towards the gathered men. "Hold them in place and make sure they don't escape. Gently, please!"

The golem went into action, wrapping its massive arms tightly around the men. The gear that had been changed to gold went back to normal, but the golem acted quickly enough to restrain the one who had assaulted Claire before he could get his bearings and do anything.

Proud of her handiwork, she smiled at Pam before suddenly doubling over in another wave of searing pain. "If you don't mind, could you heal me next Pan Pan? I think I got shot and it really hurts."

Luce smiled weakly at the girl and bit down on the tamale. Various spices and vegetables washed over her taste buds, weaving together to create an almost nostalgic taste. "Mmm..." She looked down at her wounds and immediately felt the pain numb and saw the punctures start to stitch closed. Sending the small a girl another smile, she ruffled her hair. "Thank y--"

Luce whirled around, wings splaying out at the sight of Claire being pinned in one of the soldier's grasps. Her brows furrowed as the soldier turned to what looked like gold and fell over, Claire spinning away. Pam dragged his solidified self over to Claire's feet with visible hostility on her face. "Hey, hey, she just did what she had to! At least she's not dead," She said, holding a hand between the two. She watched as the brunette pulled out a card and a golem rose from the ground with a look of impression on her face.

Looking back at the two, she noted Claire's distress. "Ah, let me see. You don't want to get healed with a bullet inside you." Luce kneeled down next to her and gently peeled the blood-soaked fabric away from the wound before inspecting it. The blood made her head spin. Layers of pink muscle and yellow fat were visible, but no bullet. Looking up at the girl with a smile, she added, "Good news! It went straight through, so you're all clear for healing."

But Claire was in for a surprise. Sometime during the panicked haze of the battle Luce had mutated. Her previously bright and round eyes were unnaturally narrowed, the warm chocolate color inside tinged a sickly yellow. Her pupils were slit, almost like a snake’s. Standing up and looking her square in the eye, she pinched the girl's cheek affectionately.

Another one down; the man’s dark red blood leaking through the multiple gashes caused by Ophelia’s scythe. After slaying yet another advancing enemy, she took the time to calm down and resist any potential coughing episodes. Her breathing was becoming rather abnormal, her chest rising up and down in a frantic attempt to return to its usual breathing patterns. She nevertheless kept her scythe unsheathed in the case that more enemies appeared and happened to have a death wish today. Her purple eyes surveyed the rest of the lobby, and she was pleased to see that the enemies’ numbers were dwindling at an accelerated rate. When she saw Liv coming up to her, she felt a sense of relief wash over her.

“Yes, I am alright. Thank you for asking. But more importantly, are you alright, Liv?” The girl seemed to be in good physical condition, somewhat unscathed by the savage battle. Ophelia was impressed and very happy to know at least one of her squad members were ok. “I agree, we should restrain the men who are alive. That way we can delve into this more and figure out what the reason was for their attack. Our next priority: interrogation.”

A warm, maternal smile tugged gently at Ophelia’s lip corners when she heard of the other’s uncertainty. “Do not worry at all, Liv. We’ll get to the bottom of this.”

Thankfully, due to the majority of smoke clearing up and most of the enemies downed, Ophelia was able to spot a few more magical girls. They seemed to have dealt with everything efficiently and were tending to each other’s wounds. Not only that, but they had some opponents already tied up. Ophelia could not be any more proud of her squad. “Claire, Pamela, Luce!” She called out to them, waving. “Are you three ok?”

Now all Ophelia has to worry about is whether or not these guys were going to provide them satisfactory answers to everything and the others' safety. With those two new objectives out of the way, Ophelia can safely say this mission was a success. But of course, she was also worrying for the magical girls who went to go after the gheist. She considered her group quite lucky to encounter more formidable foes, but squad B has a Goliath-classed opposer to go up against. Right now her primary concerns consist of her squad and securing the tower (maybe even figuring out the reason to the attack, but even Ophelia knew how unlikely that was). Perhaps after those are down, she can figure out what squad A can do to help the others.

Princess Peril

The gunfire had settled, and the remaining soldiers had retreated. Looking down at her dress, she could already see it beginning to turn green. With a click of her tongue, Princess Peril turned to the other magical girls in the lobby, her squad. They were busy interrogating soldiers, a waste of time in her eyes. Getting answers out of them would take too long. She wanted to tell them but she was losing power fast, and the sight of blood all over the lobby and the streets outside was starting to get to her now. Dead bodies littered the steets, many appeared to me average people. Why were they getting killed? Was it the soldiers? Did they see death as a better fate than food? As she stared, another civilian stumbling along toward the sea was gunned down by a sniper. If May was still out there, she probably wasn't healing very well.

"I'm going to bring May in here!" Princess Peril yelled before dashing through one of the broken windows onto the street. As soon as she did, a shot rang out towards her, but a yellow wall of light appeared to intercept it inches from her face. "That's better," she said to herself before turning to the car she had last seen May lying atop of. Near the car however, was the big flashy robot of the squad b leader. With a burst of speed, Princess Peril sped over to the car, nearly tripping on a dead woman's body. If she wasn't in Lemon everything in her stomach would have been long gone by now.

"What... where did may go?" Princess Peril asked herself. Another shot rang out, and a similar wall of light appeared to deflect it. She turned her face up to the mech. "Where the hell did May go? You were right here weren't you?" Princess Peril's voice wasn't pleasant, almost accusatory. "Dangit, dangit, dangit!" Princess peril repeated. There was tons of blood on the car, and it swept down one side of it onto the street. Her eyes continued following the blood, leading her on a path down the street. Someone had to have taken her. Without another word to Annie or Squad A, Princess Peril followed the path of blood as fast as she could. The thought of telling her squad wasn't even considered. Every second she wasted made her weaker and increased the chance of May being gone forever.

"Don't worry may, I'll save your prissy little behind. That way you'll owe me everything you've got! Whoever took you better put up a fight, because I don't waste my time on just anyone!"

| AKUMA |

"Rrch."

The sound of metal ripping flesh, then being yanked back out... it was unsettling, to say the least. Lyud was strong, and so was Cleo... but the three of them couldn't take on the Gheist alone, could they? They were missing Annie and May. Thoughts were flying through the idol's head as she attempted to formulate some sort of plan. They needed to regroup, they needed to escape, they needed to get by... They needed....

The ninja, who had plunged the sword into Lyud's arm in the first place, was now stunned, on the ground. Aimi strengthened her stance, and lifted her scythe. If she was going to do what she needed to do, Akuma needed to take him out long enough for her to seperate from Cleo and Lyudmila, and long enough for them to either really kill him or bypass him. Aimi took the opportunity while the enemy was down. Jumping over his incapacitated form, she swung directly onto his torso; Point blank range soundwave attack.

Landing firmly, Aimi turned to face away from the building's entrance, and towards her partners. "Sorry to run off again," she panted. "But we can't do this thing alone. I'm going to get Annie and May." With these final parting words, Aimi sprinted off, back into the chaos that was Pretty Tower. Skidding around the corner to the front entrance of the tower, Aimi called out to the first girl she saw there; Una, or Princess Peril. Aimi hadn't really interacted with her much, but it already seemed that the blonde didn't like her. Regardless, none of that mattered. "Don't worry May, I'll say your prissy little behind. That way you'll owe me everything you've got! Whoever took you better put up a fight, because I don't waste my time on just anyone!" Aimi paused. May? She got taken? Then Annie... Aimi's eyes drifted over to the mech, which thankfully still had the girl inside. "A-Annie!" the idol rushed over, checking to see if there were any serious wounds. At least Annie is... with us. We don't even know where May is... Aimi had to make a decision. She either makes sure Annie is okay and return to her squad, or she abandons them in order to go with Una and try to save May. She squeezed her eyes shut, and made a decision, yelling after the blonde magical girl who honestly couldn't care less either way.

"Princess!! Please find May for us!"

Cleo Donovan

They had been running through different alleyways and paths as much as they could from the shadows instead of facing direct contacts with the chaotic streets of New York filled with dazed civilians and coldblooded snipers. Cleo did constantly glance in those directions, though, to try her best to note down other events that were happening around her as they ran. She didn’t find Annie on the way, and she really couldn’t bother turning her head to check whether or not Annie had appeared yet, or to see if she’s actually visible somewhere doing her thing among this mess. Besides, nothing mattered as much now as the gigantic, black figure that they were getting closer and closer to as they approached the ocean.

Gigantic may not be enough to describe the Gheist. The thing only had half its body out of the water. There’s a whole other part underneath that surface.

Cleo’s eyebrows twitched. Three people? Three people are definitely not enough for this. Especially when they’re all, in a sense, still amateurs. Blindly satisfied by their rewarding results in training, naive when it comes to the real danger lurking outside. Not everyone’s like that, but some definitely are. Perhaps she herself is still like that too.

Ultimately, they’re still weak.

So what’s the plan now? How to defeat that thing with just three people with the possibility of whether there’d be back-up supports remaining unknown?

It would be laughable, however, if time would really stop itself to allow her some moments to think. Her eyes widened when a blur zoomed toward her from the corner of her eyes, and before she could react a blade had aimed for her limb in a swift strike movement--

Except a much powerful barge hit her hard by her shoulder and shoved her to the side. Cleo fell back and balanced herself, maintaining her composure. She looked up, then, a frown couldn’t help but form on her face at the sight of the sword cutting into Lyudmila’s arm.

It was planned, Cleo could guess, noticing the smile that had crept onto the other’s face as the blade was trapped there. She watched from the side as Lyudmila swung her head forward and gave other a mighty headbutt to the single glowing red eye of the figure that was no longer a blur, watching it sprawling backwards. Just before the figure could dart forward again, Aimi’s scythe had aimed directly for the torso with the shockwave effect. As to add on to the combo attacks, Cleo then fired a couple of white, bursting lights toward the ninja figure’s red, glowing eye once more before a circle of white balls exploded around his body. This series of attacks did keep the figure incapitated even for just a moment longer.

Cleo watched as Lyudmila yanked the sword out herself with a grunt of pain, and the wound quickly covered by dark crystals that would not emit a single glow. It’ll still take some time to heal though, she thought as she turned to look at the figure again.

My bad,” she said to the other in a low, serious tone with a hint of gratitude. She knew that she did it because it’s probably the best decision to make for the team, and may not necessarily be because she was actually being valued as a person. Nonetheless, she did save her from having to lose an arm and waiting for it to regenerate back there. “I owe you one.

From the corner of her eyes, she could still see the ocean and the real nightmare there. Slowly, ever so slowly, moving closer to the city. No time to think about gratitudes anymore. The grave situation is that one is now wounded (whether it would take a fast time to heal or not it would never be immediate), there’s a Gheist that would need more than just them three to defeat, and there’s a ninja-like figure already here trying to block their ways. They’re undermanned. Definitely undermanned.

It was fortunate that Aimi understood this grim situation too before she needed to speak up about it. After sending out her shockwave attack leaving the figure still stunned on the ground, she volunteered to go back to search for Annie and May. A wise decision, really. It was something Cleo would tell her to do as well, even wanting to go a little farther to request assistance from Squad A to fill up the spots. However, Cleo held the thought in her mind. Squad A may still be in danger themselves, so such request would not be wise or of the best timing.

At least, Aimi could be more capable than she originally thought. However, if she left, that would mean that in this short period of time before Aimi returns, there’d only be two of them.

Ly, you can produce a longsword yourself using your body with your power, right?” Suddenly, Cleo asked with her usual, mild smile, then she outstretched her hand. Her face was beaming with mysterious excitement and a hint of a plan.

Give me his blade.

Cleo's eyes remained still on the figure a couple meters away from her, now with no visible weapons in his hand for it was trapped by Lyud’s body and quite frankly now taken by her as well.

She had never used a sword before, but now and later would sure be a time for her to learn it with direct experience. There was a glint of thrilling joy inside her to be able to use a weapon she’d not yet touched before, but she brushed that excitement away to deal with the grave problem they were facing.

Then she dashed over to the ninja figure, briefly placing her palm on his face before blasting off a loud, white explosion. Jumping into the air, then, Cleo raised the sword above her head. Though unskilled, penetration, no matter how rusty, should be easy enough.

She allowed the backlash of a second explosion from ber back to launch her downward with a force even more powerful as she attempted to impale the figure through the nape of its neck and skewer it to the ground with his own very blade, though the ground itself may likely break down and collapse into the sewer below from the several blasts of explosions Cleo’s accompanying herself with.

After Annie comes back with Aimi, they’d definitely move on for the Gheist. There’s not much time left, either. But without this thing dead, it’ll always get in the way. One would eventually have to stay to kill it, but the Gheist needs everyone in the squad to defeat it. Even May’s.

However, in the end, nobody would have the time to deal with a ninja monster man who appears out of the sewer.

Gotta make sure this shit’s dead now before they move on.

Thankfully, May left a clear trail of blood that only went about one-hundred feet from her original destination. It suddenly ceased near a gaping hole in an apartment complex. The hole itself had a "star-shaped" quality to it just like May's mallet. It appeared that she put up some sort of fight, and inadvertently damaged the building (Or intentionally damaged it).

Pamela sighed in another attempt to calm herself. It was unsettling to be surrounded by dead bodies, yes and it may not really bother her but there were also delicate girls on the squad. The brunette watched as a golem grabbed the men with impression obvious on her face.

"If you don't mind, could you heal me next Pan Pan? I think I got shot and it really hurts."

"Good news! It went straight through, so you're all clear for healing."

Pamela blinked at the sudden distress coming from Claire and summoned another tamale. She wondered how deep the wound was since it would also determine which snack she summoned before Luce answered the question. Pamela looked at the wound and frowned. A tamale it is then. The chef summoned the Mexican snack once again and gave it to Claire and smiled at Luce before noticing the change in her eyes

"Uhh..Halo? You got something on your eyes"

Pamela said, confused. Was that a side effect of her tamale? She looked at Claire, who looked normal. Nope, plus her tamales were perfect.

“Claire, Pamela, Luce! Are you three ok?”

The voice belonged to the leader of squad A and the mom to all Pretty Protectors, Ophelia. Pamela smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up. But she used their real names, shoot. Her smile dropped.

"I'm going to bring May in here!"

Una's voice rang to her ears. She was going for May? Squad B should've done that! Pamela grit her teeth as she watched to the princess run out and had to fight the urge to follow her. The chef sighed and said a little prayer for her before turning to the detainees with her Burning Pan and Butcher Knife in her hands once more and asked them with a tranquil rage

"We've got questions, answer them and you won't end up like most of your crew"

Thankfully, May left a clear trail of blood that only went about one-hundred feet from her original destination. It suddenly ceased near a gaping hole in an apartment complex. The hole itself had a "star-shaped" quality to it just like May's mallet. It appeared that she put up some sort of fight, and inadvertently damaged the building (Or intentionally damaged it). Peering inside May could be seen laying against the far wall, riddle full of bullet wounds, and incapacitated once more. Two soldiers were strung at different sides of the lobbies, crumpled over, presumably dead. However, a stocky man, with half of his visor shattered, stood above May's crumpled body. The shattered portion of his visor exposing a profusely bloody wound.

He appeared to be speaking into his radio, but his vocal distortion hid what he said. The instant Una stepped into view he leaned down, reached inside May's open chest cavity, and grasped her magiaphage. With his free hand he flicked a switch on his mask, "I pull this out and she dies! Right!? Don't move!" It would be apparent that his radio device on his neck had a little red dot as he yelled this. He was about 30ft away from Una at the moment. Staying frozen would only give the enemy the opportunity, but moving would prompt him to yank the magiaphage killing Una's 'rival' instantly.

What would she do?

Street Near The Ocean

The "Cyborg Ninja's" effectively succumbed to a three way combo attack. The initial headbutt sent him back without his blade in hand. He was ready to retaliate, and even engaged his sense enhancers so he could better preform hand to hand combat. This was a huge mistake. Aimi effectively hit him with a point blank sound wave attack that crumpled him flat against the sidewalk, and it only sent him into an absolute deafened dazed because his senses were enhanced. This sound-wave attack was also accompanied by an explosion sent from Cleo that sent fragments of his armor flying all about. This left portions of him less-armored, and caused him to be much easier to damage. Cleo, thinking quickly, used her explosion ability to propel herself right into him with his own blade in hand. He raised his hand instinctively to try to catch the blade, but Cleo's speed, enhanced strength, and bad-ass willpower drove the blade right through his armored palm into his neck. Moments later he went limp - the ninja was dead.

When the team would choose to advance forward they would find themselves at a small harbor. The perimeter of the waters edge guarded by a team of soldiers who were picking off any civilians getting close to the water. They were spread thin along the harbor - totaling at about fifteen or so men. They would be no problem to deal with considering they were spread so thin. The real "problem" became apparent when the looming dark figure behind the men began to slowly raise its hulking, mechanical, and fleshy arm from the water. A bionic whirring noise accompanying this motion - this single movements noise was so powerful it literally vibrated every core of the nearby individuals beings.

With its right arm out of the water, it became apparent that on the length of its forearm was a mounted weapon. It looked almost like a rocket engine due to it's muzzle having large flames spitting out of it. A loud, building noise, of charging weaponry, and doom sounded as the Gheist brought its weapon to level. It was going to aim right at the harbor.

The girls had to act now, or be vaporized.

Pretty Tower Lobby (Enemy)

Jack and his two fellow conspirators were properly restrained, and placed against the wall. Jack tried to keep a calm demeanor on the outside, but it was apparent that he was nervous. His hands were shaking. If they could see his face behind his mask, he was nervously biting down biting down hard trying to keep himself calm. How could he stay calm after all that? Sure, they put up a sound fight, but these no-skill wackjobs with weird powers overcame the difference in skill through brute force. It went against every form of military doctrine he ever had drilled into his head. He did not want to talk, because he knew if he did - something bad would happen to his loved ones. The "people" in charge had a way of knowing things. Speaking, even in a controlled situation like this, could mean that in-addition to him dying - his wife and daughter would be dead too.

He could not give in to whatever this freak with a pan was going to do...

He would not...

"We've got questions, answer them and you won't end up like most of your crew"

"F- Fuck you José," Jack spat out, mocking her Hispanic accent.

“Ahh, I do? It’s probably nothing.” She said sweetly in Pam’s direction. The battle had died down and so did the adrenaline coursing through her veins. Everyone has healed and the guards were pacified. It was a win.

Luce spun around at the sound of their squad leader, Ophelia’s, voice. “All good here!” She chimed, shooting out a thumbs up like Pam. But she saw the small girl’s face drop, and soon her’s did too. Sending Ophelia a distressed glare, she held a finger up to her mouth.

Looking over at Una she bit her lip. Is splitting up the best choice right now? But hey, they couldn’t just leave May out for her own.

She sent a small wave in Una’s direction before turning back to Pam and the guard she was now threatening. “Pam, they’re not listening to you. Here, let me show you,” Luce approached the guard and tore off his goggles, revealing a pair of cold brown eyes.

Pulling out her eyeshadow palette, she flipped the top open and blew pink dust into his eyes. “He can’t see now,” She whispered into Pam’s ear. “Can’t brace for our attacks.”

Next she slid his mask off. Grabbing a feather from her wings, she watched it materialize into a sharp knife-like weapon before thrusting it into his cheek. Blood trickled down from the wound and a look of satisfaction flicked across her face.

“HEY, you FUCKING FAT PIG, LISTEN UP!”
