Little Red Riding Hood (1X1)

Evangeline couldn't help but smile even more as she watched the smile grow on Sawyers face and she nodded her head "Okay, good, lets get going then.." She said as she started to walk, pausing and turning to stare at Marina in shock at her suggestion.

And she caught his eye shyly, her own cheeks tinged a bit red as she looked between the siblings, trying to pass it off as something silly but she couldn't help but imagine what it would feel like to be in his arms...not that she should be, because she hardly knew the guy at all, it just felt right to be imagining that sort of thing about him and she sighed looking down, not wanting to accept the offer because he seemed reluctant but not wanting to reject it either so instead, she remained quiet and kept her mouth shut.

Sawyer

The two were adorable, both blushing over the suggestion. Marian stifled a small laugh as Evie didn’t say anything. Sawyer scratched the back of his head, not know what to do. He didn’t mind carrying her at all. They only knew one another for less than fifteen minutes so it seemed absurd. He gave his sister a dirty look for putting him on the spot like this. Leave it to her for her to make it more awkward.

“Sawyer!” she exclaimed, a giant smile on her face as she knew exactly what she was doing. “Be a man and help her.” Marian crossed her arms over her chest and expectantly watched her fluster brother. Perhaps it was just because she was his big sister, but she absolutely thought it was adorable how he didn’t know what to do about the situation.

“You just  . . . stop.” he pointed accusative finger at his sister. The wheels were already set in motion and he would be a jackass if he didn’t over to help Evangeline. Not that he minded lending a helping hand. Turning to face her, he scratched the back of his head and asked her directly. “Would like some help? It will be a long walk.” he smiled, trying to show that he really didn't mind, despite his sister trying to force it happen. Marina was standing out of his line of vision and mouthing say yes while vigorously nodding her head.

Evangeline get her gaze focused on anything other than the two siblings as they had a disagreement by Marinas unexpected suggestion about him carrying her home.

And at the sound of Sawyers voice, she lifted her head and looked up at him, biting her lip as he offered to help her and it almost sounded like it was his idea, just for a second.

She glanced over at Marina, watching as the blonde nodded her head mouthing the words yes to her and she sighed, wanting to say yes but knowing she should reject the offer and she was surprised at herself when she murmured "okay.."

Sawyer

The topic seemed to make her nervous and he felt like she was pressured into it. Especially when the answer had been murmured. Not wanting her to do something she was uncomfortable with he stepped closer and blocked out the view of his sister. Hoping that would take off some of the pressure off and she would be at ease more.

“Ignore her.” he said in a low voice as he pointed back to his sister. “Do you want to just wrap your arm around me and have support? Do you want to be carried or we can just take it slow and if you need help in the middle we can help.” he smiled, genuinely the whole time, but it dawned on hit that it could be taken the wrong way and that he didn’t want to help. “I just don’t want you to feel pressured.” he added, scratching his head nervously.

Marina was peeking behind her brother, trying to see what was going on. For the most part he let her brother deal with it from there on out. How gently and polite he was being with her was cute and sort of out of character. There was usually a roughness about him, but he was strangely being really nice to her new friend. Sort was starting to get her to think there might be more to it.

She looked up at him, as he approached her and she watched him carefully as he started to talk, quietly so that Marina wouldn't be able to over hear anything they were discussing.

Evie smiled ever so slightly as she looked up at Sawyer, her smile growing as he suggested kind ideas and she nodded her head "Maybe an arm would help...I don't want to be too much of a burden" She said softly as she watched him scratching his head, seemingly nervous and she peeked behind him towards Marina, and she smiled softly at the sight of her new friend who was watching them so intently.

Sawyer

“It isn’t burden to carry you.” That was the truth. Lifting her would be as easy as lifting a feather to him. None the less he went to her bad side and gently took her arm and wrapped it around his neck as his arm went to around her waist for support. “Is this better?” he asked, smiling down at her and once they were comfortable they started on their way. Marina was in front practically skipping with delight as she led the way to the track road.

“What do you do in your free time?” Marina asked, turning to face them as she walked backwards. A howl could be heard off in the distance and she tensed up as she looked up to the sky. Sawyer noticed, but didn’t say anything on the matter for the time. Simple just shifted slightly so he was more comfortable.

Evangeline smiled shyly as he wrapped her arm around his neck, and she shifted slightly getting comfortable as his arm snaked around his waist, and she moved slightly closer to him and she nodded her head "Better...thank you Sawyer" She said quietly as he smiled down at her, and she appreciated the slow pace they started to walk at, so that she could limp and keep pressure off her leg and she couldn't help but giggle as she watched Marina skipping ahead of them.

"I do some stuff I guess...read, walk, I run a lot" She shrugged trailing off, realising how boring her life sounded to the siblings and she jumped slightly as she heard a howl that sent shivers down her spine, and she glanced around nervously before looking at the siblings, who didn't seem too phased and she guessed they were right, it was probably ages and ages away.

Sawyer

Sawyer noticed her shake a bit at the howl and look around uneasy. There were too many of them for wolves to attack; besides it was one of their pack members. Not that he could tell her that information to put her at ease. Shifting slightly, he pulled her closer with a reassuring smile.

“We do our fair share of running.” he replied, as he kept a slow pace. Marina nodded in agreement. Books weren’t so much his thing, but sports and running he could relate on.

“We should go running one of these mornings.” Marina suggested, with a giant smile. There was something about Evangeline that like. Spending more time with her new friend sound appeasing and this would be a good opportunity. “Once your leg is healed of course.” she added, knowing that would take some time.

She let out a small sigh of relief as she was pulled closer to his side and Evangeline gave him the best smile she could manage at the moment, but that wasn't really much, not with everything that was going on around her right now and she nodded her head, giving an indication that she was listening to the siblings and she smiled at Marinas suggestion.

She thought the sound of running with her new friend sounded great, it would be much more fun that running alone like she was used to and she readily agreed, a bit bummed about how long her leg could take to heal before she could finally run but the offer was better than nothing and she focused on walking...well limping further and further into the woods, in the direction that her house was in or should be in according to Marinas idea.

Sawyer

Having future plans with Evangeline put Marina in high spirits. A giant smile was exchanged between the two and there was pep in her step that quickly faded as she heard another howl. This time it was pretty close and she looked around trying to locate exactly where the howl was coming from. Another came quickly after from a different wolf and she came to a stop in her tracks. A hand ruffled through her hair nervously as she looked around. Without realizing it her eyes turned more animalistic as she looked around for the pack.

“Marina!” Sawyer said loudly, grabbing his sister’s attention. She looked at him surprised before she noticed that her eyes had changed. They quickly went back and he tilted his head in confusion trying to figure out what was going on. “W-what is-” A hand was held up to silence him as she started back the way they had come.

“I-I just have something to take care of?” she ran off before any of them could really question what was going on. Dumbfounded he looked at Evangeline than back where his sister had disappeared. Were they to go one without her or . . . Low growls came from the direction his sister went in and for the first time he tensed up. There was some whining suddenly and Sawyer stepped away from the redhead ready to go off after his sister when a large grey wolf appeared. It had golden eyes and let out a large snarl. They wanted the girl for some reason, but Sawyer pushed her behind him in a protective manner.

Evangeline jumped as she heard another howl, this time it was louder and she immediately, instinctively looked up at Sawyer, jumping again as there was another one, and she let out a small whimper, moving slightly closer to Sawyer, she felt safe, the closer she got to him and she glanced around at all the trees, trying to pinpoint the location of where the howls were coming from.

Her eyes widened as she saw the colour differentiation in Marina's eyes, and she tilted her head, especially at Sawyers confusion and exclamation as he noticed it too but she didn't add to the panic, none of them needed it and she followed Marina, hesitantly and limping slightly.

She stared in shock as Marina raced off, away from them and she looked confused and worried up at Marina, she could be in trouble! Why would she run towards the sound?!

And she quickly glanced up at Marina's younger brother "We have to go after her! She could get in trouble!" She was worried about her new friend and her new friend's wealth fare

Her eyes widened as she saw a HUGE grey snarling wolf approaching them, and she clung onto Sawyer frightened at the seemingly  aggressive animal and she hissed up at the man "What do we do?!"

Sawyer

Evangeline made the situation difficult. Not that it was her fault, but he didn’t know if he should transform in front of her or not. The wolf could out run them any day, even if her leg wasn’t injured. Another low growl came from the animal and Sawyer just held his ground and backed them away slowly. The animal slowly stepped forward not backing down.

“Stay behind me.” he said softly, keeping a protective arm up so she couldn’t go any further. The wolf was crouching lower and he was getting ready to attack wither his fellow pack member got out of the way or not. Sawyer’s eyes remained blue, but they became more animalistic. Another wolf with brownish red markings came out and pinned down the wolf. Snarls could be heard and the fight turned sour quickly as yet another wolf arrived and they both started ganging up on the one protecting them. Whines and whimpers escaped the other as they started drawing blood. “Marina!” Sawyer acted on instinct to protect his family and quickly charged into the fight, transforming into a large white wolf with blue eyes. Now that it was a fair fight, they stood a chance. A couple of minutes passed before the two attackers went off with their tails between their legs, leaving Marina and Sawyer in human form. They both looked over to Evangeline, not sure how she was going to react.

"Sawyer..." She protested softly as she was pushed behind him further, and she clutched onto his shirt as he held up a hand to stop her moving anywhere, and she watched fearfully as the wolf kept approaching them, and she couldn't understand why the wolf was approaching them. Weren't wolves supposed to be scared of humans and not approach humans?? That's what she had always been told by family.

She watched worriedly as another wolf appeared, and the wolves started to fight and she whimpered slightly, as she was forced to listen to pained whimpers and whines leaving the wolves and the next thing she knew, she was standing there in shock.

They had turned into wolves...then humans...

What was going on?!

Her eyes were wide open in shock as she stared at the two siblings and she almost felt light-headed as she tried to process this odd news...she must have been imagining things!

Sawyer

Leaves and dirt was in both the blonde’s hair. There was some blood around the eldest sibling’s neck and some stains now on her shirt. Marina exchanged a look with her brother, one that said I would handle this. One simple nod of his head, Sawyer stepped back and let the women talk. The older sibling had more experience handling situations like this. Evie’s reaction wasn’t particularly what bothered her at the moment. Two pack members had seen her brother transform in front of her and now that she knew the secret they would most likely not leave the redhead alone.

“Evie, you alright?” she asked, softly, taking a few steps towards the other woman. In some wild twist maybe she had her eyes shut or she be in denial and not believe her eyes. “We won’t hurt you.” she added softly, telling by how the other woman was staring at them that she had seen. Marina inched closer a few steps to test of the other would trust them anymore or not. Sawyer stood behind his sister.

Evangeline glanced between the two blondes with a shocked, almost dazed expression on her face as she watched Marina walking towards her, and she couldn't help her body stiffening up slightly as the older girl approached her, and all she could think about were the three absolutely massive wolves that had been rolling around in the dirt only a few moments ago, the only sounds coming from them, whimpers and snarls.

"What....what are you guys?" She asked, looking up at the blonde with big eyes before murmuring "I'm not scared...I just...I don't believe it, I just be imagining things" she said, sinking down and sitting on the leaf covered dirt, her head in her hands as she struggled to process the supernatural event that had taken part in front of her.

Sawyer

The blonde eyed her new friend as she tensed up when she approached. Marina stopped going any further and sighed lightly. The redhead was taking it better than she had thought she would. Not running off on them, but she was still a bit in denial. By the end of this conversation she would have to believe that she wouldn’t tell another soul or . . . Well she hadn’t gotten exactly that far in the plan.

“We’re werewolves.” she stated simply. No point in lying. Sawyer’s transformation in front of her made it pretty hard to make up a believable story when that had just been ingrained in her brain. “Look, I know this is hard to process and all, but you can’t tell anyone. No one! They’ll kill us if you do.” Marina looked, back at her younger brother and again at her friend. It was serious. There was a bit of panic welling up inside her because she truly didn’t know what to do if they girl didn’t comply.

"Werewolves?? What the fuck?" She frowned absolutely confused as she tried to focus on everything she had witnessed and she sighed softly, looking up as the girl continued to talk, and her tone got more and more panicked as she spoke and she shook her head quickly.

"No, no, don't worry....I...no one would believe me anyway" She managed a small laugh as she realised how true that actually was, no one would ever believe her! Werewolves was ridiculous, nothing like that happened unless it was in twilight!

She looked up at her new friend and the guy that was weirdly attractive to her with a small smile, "Your secret is safe with me..." She said quietly before moving closer to  Marina "you're bleeding..." She whispered softly

Sawyer

Not true. The right kind of people would believe. There wasn’t any point in getting into that when Evangeline agreed to keep their secret to herself. A smile grew on her face as the little problem seemed to fade away for the time being. Sawyer started stepping closer to his sister. The bit marks around her collar bone were eyes. The two wolves weren’t messing around and he had to wonder why. He looked to the redhead and knew now wasn’t the time. Not that his sister would fill him in properly. She always kept secrets from him. According to her, it was for his own protection.

“That I am.” she said softly, looking down at her chest to see the blood stained shirt. A lot of the bite marks were hidden under her chin and she couldn’t get a very good look at them. Sawyer would have to help clean those later, but most of it would be gone in the morning. “We really should get you home.” she said, with a soft smile, hoping that her injuries would be left alone.

Evangeline sighed softly, as Marina brushed off her brother's concern, and her own about Marina's injuries and she looked up at her friend worriedly

"Okay...I could fix you up at my house...you can borrow a shirt too" She said softly, and kindly, hoping to try and repay Marina for her own kindness when Evie herself had been in the situation, only a few hours ago.

They finished the journey to her house in a sort of awkward silence, Sawyer still supported Evie as she limped along, even though they were definitely much tenser and awkward before, she would have doubted if that was even possible earlier but the werewolf situation seemed to have made sure it was

Sawyer

The journey was only ten or so more minutes longer. Sawyer helped Evie along the way, but it was awkward. Marina was in the front, leading the way, but the pep she had earlier was gone. The leaves crunched under her as she sort of stomped through them until they came up on the house they were looking for. It wasn’t very far from the road track and quite easily to find from there.

“This is it?” he asked, looking around. Odd that he had never been in this part of the woods before. Not many of the pack went out this far. The house was looked over and then his gaze went to his sister. The offer early hadn’t really been completely agreed on. She sort of shrugged and nodded, but started walking away. “We staying for a while?” he asked, eyeing his sister who had been acting odd this whole time. A soft hum left her lips as she thought about it before turning to her new friend.

“As long as you’re ok with it. Don’t want to take up too much time.” she said with a small smile. Just didn’t seem nice or right to say no.

Evangeline watched sadly as the previously bubbly and energetic girl stomped ahead of them, every ounce of positivity and perkiness gone, as she leaves and twigs crunched underneath her and she glanced up at Sawyer with a small sigh, feeling bad for him, as he would have to deal with her later presumably.

"Yeah...this is my house" She murmured softly as she looked up at the almost broken down looking house in front of her, that looked a complete tip compared to the sibling's house and she glanced between Saywer and Marina nervously as the three of them stood awkwardly outside of her house, none of them knowing what to do until Sawyer broke the silence and she sighed, looking down awkwardly as she listened to the sibling's talking, Marina being awfully restricted and closed off, much unlike before.

And the human girl only looked up when Marina for the first time since the incident talked

"I don't mind...I want to help patch you up, and replace your shirt too..." She murmured softly, offering a small smile

Sawyer

The small smile was returned by the short blonde hair woman and then she looked to her brother. Exactly what she was trying to communicate he wasn’t sure, but she was definitely making things on the awkward side, whatever was going through her head. Sawyer rolled her eyes at her and took matter into his own hands. A glare was sent his way, but he didn’t really care.

“Right, well let’s not stand out here doing nothing. Should help Evangeline put her leg up to rest too.” he said, helping Evie out to her door and inside. Marina followed in slowly after them looking behind her shoulder before she slipped into the house. It was a bit smaller than theirs, but homey. At least to Sawyer, his sister just seemed to be super jumpy for some reason. “Do you have a cloth? I can clean her up a bit while you get her a shirt?” he suggested, smiling at the redhead.

“We don’t need to trouble her Sawyer. Let’s just help her put up her leg.” Marina protested, getting a glare from her brother. A little help never hurt anyone and his sister wasn’t one to usually refuse an offer, out of politeness.

“You look like a bear mulled you.” he stated, shaking his head. “It’s not a big deal. You can return the shirt or buy her a new.” he said, shrugging his shoulders. That was the only reason he could think that she would refuse help. Marina looked around the house a bit nervously and then shook her head in agreement, forcing a large smile.

“Alright, alright.” she looked at the pair, fearing that Sawyer was this close to pinning her down and forcing her to accept help from the both of them.

Neither Sawyer or she had any reason why Marina was acting up but Evangeline was determined to ignore it as best as she could and act normal, pretending like her two new friends weren't werewolves...

With a small sigh, she allowed herself to be helped up to her room, guiding them both toe the small room that was hers and she pulled out a small first aid kit out from under her bed, and she took out some antibacterial wipes

"Here...clean yourself up and I will go find you a new top" She said softly as she turned to her new friend, looking up at her with an almost pleading expression painted on her face, Evie didn't want things to end on such a sour note

Sawyer

A smile was forced as she took the wipes. They were held for a while as she looked over them, her brother heavy gaze on the blonde. A mirror or something was needed as she couldn’t see the injuries very well, but the wipes were taken out of her hand and Sawyer went to work. The redhead was in pretty close proximity, but he made sure his voice was low enough for her not to hear.

“Quit being weird.” he said, concentrating on cleaning up the wounds. Marina winced a bit as the wipes stung slightly. A sigh rolled off her tongue and she rolled her eyes. The two of them shouldn’t be there. A creak in the floor boards made her jump slightly. His brows puckered together as he looked up confused at his sister before finishing up. It looked worse than it was, merely looked like scratches since the wolf had really gotten to sink his teeth in very well. “There.” he said, finding the closest waste basket and tossing the wipes away.

“Are we the only ones here?” Marina asked, listening closely for any other sound of life. Enough had found out about their secret today.

Evie pushed herself up, and she limped across to her chest of drawers, and she rummaged around in one of the drawers to find a nice top that she thought would fit Marina and she glanced over at her with a curious glance at the question.

"Ehm, I have no idea...why?" she asked tilting her head, as she shut the drawers before moving over to the siblings, glancing at the now cleaned neck of Marina, before handing over the top "There is a bathroom, down the hall, the last door on the right" She said with a small smile

Once Marina had left to go get changed, she glanced up at Sawyer, and she allowed herself the pleasure to look at the handsome, masculine features of his face and her cheeks flushed a pale pink colour as she realised she was staring, she didn't know why, but all she could think about was what she wanted to do with him
