VENOM
Live-Stage

CRASH!

Something had entered the stage and stuck the landing. It was almost a miracle on how the wooden floors managed to stay intact. Perhaps the individual with little sense of property safety had something up their sleeves. At first glance, it didn't seem like they had much secrets to be kept.
venom-spider-man-2.gif

Roar did the monster in black- it's thunderous cry bellows in an ear-piercing screech. In full slime action, VENOM bares his fangs at the crowd in display of his might. A creature of monstrous physique, serrated fangs of an apex predator, and claws that had crumpled metal like paper. The potential to rip and tear were present as day, only missing the intent to maul those it could see. And see far it did; from the isles of people and the scent of their blood.

SO MANY SNACKS, SO LITTLE TIME.

Yet, the hunger is sedated upon it's strings being released. The monster's eyes widen, moving like white strokes flowing through the vast sea of a black portrait. He stares down it's claws, bared only to rip apart it's enemies when there were none he had seen but allies. Allies that had offered him help, but told of the harsh truth.

"...."

In great shame, VENOM is quick to depart, following suite with the rest, no longer wanting to be seen any longer.

Greed's unnecessary abuse of the poor stage light certainly hadn't gone unnoticed by the younger Gleeful twin - but it had gone unaddressed. She doesn't even bother using any sort of magic to clean it all back up. She just lets it sit there, broken, and opts to watch the rest of the introductions instead.

mabel3.jpg

Her eyes momentarily widen at Nolan's display, though if he were to pay attention, it isn't out of fear. No... she's intrigued, and the twitching smirk on her lips indicates that. When the boulder was inevitably placed aside, it all relaxed as if it hadn't been there at all. She's disappointed... but all the same, she can sense something inside this very interesting man. She just needs to bring it out...

Mabel quickly turns to Silver and waves him off when he begins asking his question, "Now, now. Let's save all questions for the end, hm?"

It's during this time that Ryuji can scan the Twins. This very scan reveals something that can very well be the source - their pendants. The glowing, sky-blue balls of glass almost seem to have some kind of mystifying feel about them. Even from down here, among the audience, they seem almost unnaturally bright. He's able to safely move to the back, at that, although for a moment he swears he saw Mabel glance in his direction. As soon as she did, though, she was already looking away. Could it have just been a trick of the eye... or something more?

Otherwise, she stares on. She watches Shinji's and Sage's terror, paying no mind to the objects destroyed in the latter's wake. She doesn't even answer Medic. All she does is draw a zipper across her lips and flick away the metaphorical "key". Her lips are sealed, it seems. The closest thing to a genuine reaction she gives is Frank's question. For the briefest, tiniest of seconds, he can see something there. Something that wasn't this evil girl before him. Something almost begging to get out, yet trapped under a spell he's all too familiar with. It's something that others would have never even noticed - but his reporter's intuition doesn't lie. For less than a second, Mabel Gleeful's smile twitches.

"If you mean God, dear, I must ask you to keep religion away from the show."

And then she simply ushers him off, as she had everyone else.

Her eyes watch Hobie and The Wanderer respectively, but they aren't given any such reaction as prior. It's simply behind her eyes, that faintest bit of interest. But it's nothing she chooses to act on in the moment. Just as quickly as either of them may have noticed it, it's already gone. No one else is given even that, though. From Corvo's reluctance to Venom's roar, Mabel only stands back and watches with her hands neatly folded behind her back. It isn't until one of the last men comes up - Hershel Avad - that she decides to pay interest once more. The bit with the coins hardly mattered to her - no, it was the question. The simple, almost stupid question that she couldn't help but laugh at.

rsz_reverse_pines_by_alichelle_d9l98i2_by_teh_zombish-da6iri7.jpg

"Oh, my dear Hershel," Mabel now makes an effort to project her voice like a proper showwoman, practically purring through her words. "This hasn't been a punishment for even a fleeting moment!" Mabel sounds almost offended as she speaks, but Hershel knows better. She's toying with them all, even still. Just as she has been since the moment they stepped into the tent. This is all nothing more than a game to her. Though, Mabel would probably prefer to call it something more akin to a study. A study of these intruders, their limits, their ticks, their icks. She wants to know it all. She wants to push them all, to dig around in their brains until her hands are caked in their blood. She wants to know how to push them, how to break them.

That's why, when Clovis finally speaks again, Mabel's grin twists into something like the Cheshire.

Oh, how she listens to him drone on. How she adores seeing his facade crack beneath just a little tip-toe of pressure. How she loves to see just what it could take to break a thing like him. Could she even call him a man, or perhaps something less? It hardly matters, but everything about these strangers interests her to her core. Just one little push and she's already learned so much. She's seen so many death glares and learned just who is susceptible to what. How to scare them, how to anger them... oh, she loves it so. And by the end of his speech, when he turns back to the audience, Mabel laughs.

"Real magic, you say~?"

She turns her head to face Dipper. The stoic, silent brother who had been hands-off for the majority of this show. Quiet as he has been, he's been assessing the group just as much.

"Do you hear that, brother?" she asks him. "Clovis here wants to show us real magic~!"

"Hm. Then I suppose it's only fair we let him."

Mabel glances down as Raz's shot lands in front of her feet. She stares at him for a moment... and then waves him away. He's flung off the stage, just like Ryuji was. Mabel pays him no more mind than that, and instead walks over to Dipper's side yet again.

"I couldn't agree more.~"

"It's time for act two~!"

As soon as they exclaim that, a panel opens up on the stage floor. A loud conveyor belt rings out through the room, carrying up something heavy. The chains obviously struggle against the weight, and the keen eye may even notice that they've been reinforced by the twins' magic. Soon enough, snarling can be heard over the clanging, and those chains start to wriggle against the weight of its cargo. But all in the same, it keeps carrying it up, further and further. When it finally reaches the top, the sight is an all too familiar one to some of you, wholly new to others, yet all the same clear trouble to all.

NOYmVIq.jpg

"Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for The Main Man himself - Lobo!"

Mabel gestures out to the chained-up creature, more beast than man, with one arm. It only trashes harder against its bindings, and though they creak, they never come undone.

"This bad boy is responsible for countless acts of mass murder, mass mundicide, mass genocide, fraticide, patricide, matricide, mass filicide, mutilation, cannibalism, vigilantism, disturbance of the peace, impersonation, torture, abuse, animal cruelty, illegal bounty hunting, hijacking, mass destruction, sexual harassment, mayhem, vandalism, assault, poaching, pollution, and many other major and minor offenses."

As she finishes listing off his crimes against humanity, Lobo almost seems to relax for a moment and let out a chuckle - though it's muffled by his muzzle. And despite all of that, the audience cheers. Mabel looks over to her brother and nods as he walks to the back of the stage, where a tarp shrouds a much smaller object in complete mystery. It hadn't been there until now, but of course, neither twin pays it much mind.

dipper6.jpeg

Dipper yanks off the tarp - rather dramatically, at that to reveal a bird cage underneath. In it is a blue, triangular being with nothing but anguished sobs escaping it.

Will_Cipher_%28Reverse_Falls%29.jpg

"Our next guest, Will, is a very special one. Capable of so much... yet willing to act on so little. Why, he could bring this mere tent to life, turn us all into quite stunning statues, or even start an apocalypse if he wanted!" Dipper sums up, gesturing his hands lightly and keeping up that small grin of his.

"So, here's the game..." Mabel follows him up as she takes center stage once more. She flicks out her wrist and aims her palm skyward, resulting in a bright, light blue flame appearing in its center and dancing within.

mabel4.jpg

"You have until this flame reaches Lobo's chains. When it does, those things will burn right up - and who knows what carnage our dear maniac will cause when that happ--"

SCHING!

The sound of metal snapping can suddenly be heard, cutting through Mabel's speech like a scalpel through flesh. The source of it was obvious - Lobo had quite literally bitten through his muzzle. A set of animalistic, dog-like teeth is revealed, all flared behind a growling and sneering maw. The beady-red eyes match his expression well as he focuses not on any of the Blood Gulch survivors, not on the group at large, but Mabel.

"FERGET THE REST'A THESE LOSERS, YA CRAZY BASTITCH. WHEN TH' MAIN MAN'S OUTTA THESE CHAINS, HE'S 'GUNNA RIP THIS WHOLE UNIVERSE TO SHREDS 'N MAKE YOU WATCH! THEN, I THINK I'LL BITE OFF Y'ER BROTHER'S LI'L HOG 'N FEED IT TO 'YA, WHEN THERE'S NUTHIN' BUT SCRAP LEFT OF Y'ER PRECIOUS FRAGGIN'--"

"That's very nice, dear,"
Mabel offhandedly responds as she gives a casual wave of her hand, sealing his mouth shut once more. Though his muffled screams can be heard from within, she ignores him and simply tosses her hand back over her shoulder, and with it the flame. It ignites with a grand burst of blue, and slowly begins trailing its way up to Lobo's core protection. "Now..." she begins again, "Should Lobo be freed and shred this tent to its very last atom, Will shall be released in the process. And when that happens? Well..." Dipper and Mabel exchange glances, before smirking to one another and looking back. "Let's just say we've taught our most prized pet some very useful tricks."

"You're fucking crazy!"

Asuka had tried to stay silent up until this point. Truthfully, she had. But hearing this woman talk more and more, nonchalantly threatening to kill everyone, seeming to enjoy the risk of killing herself? Asuka doesn't even know what it reminds her of. Not even Gendo, for all his terrible faults, had ever resorted to means so idiotic and suicidal. And it certainly hadn't ever been for his amusement. So all she can do is shout at this woman, shout and--

With a wave of Mabel's hand, the glare disappears entirely.

CehibsHWAAAUjq_.jpg

"Now... that's no way to talk to your Mistress, is it~?"

Asuka blinks, and her eye shines an all too familiar shade of blue.

"No... it's not," she shakes her head, and looks just as dutiful as ever. Only now, that look is redirected entirely to Mabel. "Sorry, Mabel. Don't know what I was thinking."

"It's okay, dear," Mabel purrs. "You can make it up to me by stopping these brutes from putting out that flame."

"Of course. Anything for you."

Without another word, Asuka stands up from her seat, walks over to Medic...

evangelion-asuka.gif

...and throws a punch toward his face that's hard enough to crack bulletproof glass.

"Now... Sage, Josuke, Corvo, Frank West, Mewtwo, Flandre, Rex, Wanderer, Blake, Lana, Spider-Lily, Aloy, and Sprig... do you mind helping out little 'ol me~?"

As she called those names, once again, you felt compelled to do as she said. Your personalities remained intact, but now? Now, the single most important thing in your life was to stop your comrades from stopping that flame.

By any means necessary.

The punch stops just shy of Medic's face, the barrier between Asuka's fist and the doctor's jaw having appeared in what felt like the blink of an eye. Greed stands there, palm open and holding Asuka's fist in place. That black material coats both hands, turning his fingers into sharp claws. Greed, wearing a wide and devilish smirk, glances back to the Medic and chuckles eagerly.

"Careful now, little red! You almost took the poor guy's head off!"

Greed tilts his head and grins wider.

Vy7.gif

"...Almost."

Wasting no time, Greed's smile morphs into a grim sneer as he pulls Asuka in and drives his palm into her diaphragm. The impact is great enough that all Greed has to do is let go of her wrist, and she falls straight into a waiting chair. With that out of the way, Greed backs off, rolls his shoulders and turns back to the Medic.

"Alright, Doc -- you and I've been acquainted for the better part of ten minutes. But I think..."

He breathes in, then out, giving Medic's shoulder a few firm taps with his palm as he goes.

"I think we're gonna know each other a whole lot better by the time we walk outta here. And we better walk outta here, you understand me?"

Greed flexes his hands, the Ultimate Shield glistening in the light, and scans the room for routes to take.

"Let's see if you're worth the asking price, Medic."

FLANDRE SCARLET
━━━━━━━ ● ━━━━━━━
And soon, it all comes to red. Flandre is one of the many few who feel this... urge. It was a strange urge to her, to protect something that she didn't seem much use of when all the talking and explain-y had happened. Just put out the flames, and then the other chained man, supposedly.

But it happened.

At first... she seemed... off. Why? Why would she do it?

Then came the realization.

When there is conflict, there are bound to be challenges.

A test of strength and firepower in the crowd of other worlds.

1701717237762.png
Her eyes immediately leer, searching frantically until...

"You... You seem strong." A burst of flames conjour from her palm, forming a silt in a steady and eager motion. Intent is not hidden, her intent hides no more. But she didn't come here obeying orders, she didn't just come here to protect.

She came for a fight.

"THEN LET'S DANCE!!"

In one fell swoop, she lunges a blade; a flaming sword made from the palm of her hand, the sizzling excitement that strikes towards,,, VENOM!

VENOM
The Brawl

"NO!!-"

He had pushed everyone aside. Anyone near him, anyone that would get hurt; he would push away. The monster that had yelled, screamed at them before, had sworn to protect anyone he could do. No one deserved to die, not even in this conflict. They had no choice but he swore--

Even at death's door slowly approaching him in the form of the fiery, infernal blade, the bane that had marked all of his kind into the twisted agony forged from the starts. For them, for their memory. A memory that would not last long, but still--

"Go be a hero."

Anything for them, he would perserve--

The sword instead meets a hand, grasping it firmly in place. Reimu stands firm against it, the light seemingly dancing away from her fingers as she holds the sword like it were little more than a stick. There isn't so much of a trace of pain in her. She simply takes it.

"Your big sis would be pretty mad at me if she knew I was letting you go around making a mess, Flandre. And you know as much as I do how much of a pain she can be."

Her gaze narrows.

"Besides... I thought I already told you."

A fist flies into Flandre's stomach-

Treasure Sign "Yin-Yang Treasured Orb"

"Don't cause any trouble!"

-before it seemingly bursts into a bright, golden light. Reimu simply turns her head away from the light, meeting the beast's gaze head on.

"Oi, big guy... don't do anything too reckless. Flandre likes to play rough."

You can choose whether or not to believe in names? Huh... lots of things are optional to believe in, looks like.

Regardless of her thoughts on that, Ming simply nods as Hobie introduces himself in a whisper, tilting her head. "Spider-Punk... I'll just call ya 'Punk', then." She decides, facing the direction of the twins' voice and narrowing her eyes. "...did you go up there and say your, uh, beliefs about names willingly? I didn't mean to go up there myself, it's... really, really weird."

And then came Act Two.

Ming's guard was up as the conveyor belt rings out, humming briefly as Lobo's crimes were listed. Quite the character, if she does say so herself. She can't help but grimace at Will's sobs however, feeling a pang of sympathy for the blue triangle - he didn't sound happy at all, and given the gut feeling that only amplified around the twins, Ming was sure that the distraught demon wasn't all too willing for this... pun unintended.

Mabel's description of the game didn't sound like one Spider-Lily would particularly enjoy playing - though she seemed more than willing once her name was called out.

Almost as though a switch was flipped in her brain, Spider-Lily shifts her stance, moving to face towards where she heard Hobie prior. With a quick breath, Ming parts her hands, and then...

CLAP!

She slams her hands together, the sound of the clap amplified just enough to become a strong physical force, as well as one aimed to hopefully push back Spider-Punk!

Marisa.png

Marisa quickly spring into action the instant her body could move on its own. There was an objective of immediate importance; she saw Flandre cackle out of the corner of her eye as she brought Laevateinn out with murder in her eyes. Luckily, Reimu moved before she even had to say anything. "Nice catch, Reimu!
Keep 'er busy for a sec!" Marisa quickly darted past Reimu and Venom. She had to make a move sooner rather then later; and she had to stop that flame from spreading.

Fire, fire. OK. She specialises in light and heat magics, and fire's just an offshoot of both of those. She'd caused more then enough of them - most of them accidental, that she'd cooked up a few simple ways to contain and/or slow down a magical fire. Marisa shoved her her hands deep into her dresses pockets as she ran toward the stage, pulling out a frosted glass bottle, filled with a cloudy liquid.

Vaulting onto the stage, Marisa threw the bottle in her right hand directly onto the fire. As the liquid within made contact with the air, it expanded into a thick, absurdly cold foam-like substance. She doubted it'd stop this one out and out, but it should, at the very least, slow it down for the time being. She had a second bottle, but no more then that.
"Oi! Anybody gonna help over 'ere?!"
She shouted into the crowd as the fighting began to intensify, instinctively taking the Hakkero from her hip.

Shit, did anybody else here have a way to slow this down?

"AAAAAAAAAAA-"

Raz tumbles to the ground after being tossed away like a piece of trash, rolling onto his back then jumping back onto his feet. Those twins are lucky he had a helmet on, or else they would have faced serious controversy and even charges if a ten year old got hurt at their hands!

He looks to the developing chaos before him, quickly putting his goggles back on. A fire, there's fire- okay, he can do this! Raz has been practicing hydrokinesis since that fateful week, heck, Nona gave him some solid tips to use too! He could just use the moisture in the air to hopefully put out the flames, but first he needs to get to the stage... he's gotten through worse though, Razputin can do this - he's a Psychonaut! Well, Junior Psychonaut, but still a Psychonaut!

Raz darts across the tent, summoning his lev-ball and running atop it to make things just a bit speedier. The Aquato's lev-ball disappears right when he reaches the chained-up Lobo - and in turn, Marisa.

If he was going to put out this fire, he needed some time first to focus and gather enough water to put it out!

"I'm gonna slow it down - but I need you to hold anyone else off for me afterwards!" Raz explains urgently to Marisa, putting a hand to his temple.

The flames seem to move in slow-motion, becoming more monochromatic rather than blue. Nice, he's still got it!

Once that's handled, Raz takes a breath, focusing as best he could to collect bits of water from the moisture in the air... he's not exactly a master, after all, partially due to his past hydrophobia hindering him for so long - so it could take a little bit.

And as such, it had come to this.

Amidst a chaotic battlefield

As he watched the gleeful twins, the man narrowed his eyes... he supposed, considering how the pair had manipulated their bodies before and the like... it would be the crowd, his allies maybe? He had mentally prepared himself the moment they seemed to be pushing for something else in spectacle.

Without saying a word, the man pulled out and equipped himself with two thick metal gauntlets, blackened alloy having an odd and cold shine to it.

...and then it was akin to the tent getting swallowed into a battlefield of madness. Names came from the detestable woman toying around, one- no, many that gave the duke a sense of urgency. His eyes darted within instants, taking in all the information within the disorganized chaos, and hatched a plan of action

As soon as the first punch was thrown, the duke approached the man who had stopped it with a serious expression

"Greed, if i remember right." After a short intro he pointed in a very specific direction of the tent... the man called Josuke was at the end of that direction
"That man should be able to bring people back from the fight for them, neutralize them if possible" with that, he turns to the man who looks like a modern-day medical professional with a twist

"I'll handle picking people back up here, so, hurry and deal with him" A green glow came alive on the duke's hand, almost like a thick shining substance that surrounded his whole right hand, as a quick display of his meaning.

And things had took a turn for the worse while trying to rally and strategize. By the time he turned around, someone had almost died at the hand of the vampire child. Hershel felt tempted to rush in, had it not been for the confident woman facing down the bloodthirsty individual. But this, this made the man realize something important. He didn't interrupt the witch or child trying to put out the fire, that much was still necessary.

Instead, his next course of action changed: he sprinted in his child's, Sage's, direction, pushing anyone out of the way or blocking attacks coming his way, keeping himself sharp. On the way, a familiar face was spotted among the crowd and chaos

"Orbeck, with me!" He exclaimed, detouring to pass by the scholarly sorcerer from a far-away land
"We need to deal with the fire from the chains, but also Sage... the entity must have taken over by now, and it will never let that fire be snuffed out" He urged his fellow scholar, preparing to take off running alongside him, borrowing his expertise in magics to quell the issue

IMG_3884.jpeg

Dib has finally returned!!! He ran into this page as jolly as ever. I turns out, he went home to play the new Fortnite update. He was very excited for Peter. So excited in fact, he stole his dad’s credit card and bought as many levels as he needed to get the Peter skin. However, he soon noticed that the Peter copter was not part of the regular battle pass…. It was a quest reward and therefore unobtainable. He was so mad he threw his computer out the window and ran back here to where everyone is now. When he reached here, he was utterly shocked and appalled…. Mind control??? Really????

“WOAH WOAH WOAH! Wait just a minute here…. Erm….. how come almost all of these role plays have some sort of mind control or hypnosis… is there something you want to say Twice Knightly Twice Knightly ? Huh? You freak? You disgust me…”

Trixie's greatest fear had come true: some of the competent not-ponies had been turned against them! To think such young ones would use magic for such a cowardly move! Come to think of it, what was with these evil children popping up? First Cozy Glow, now these Gleeful Twins... As the brainwashed folk turned like marionettes on strings, Trixie trotted behind everypony else. Self-preservation took over, and surely these others could handle it! They could do things that weren't illusions!

But partway into her retreat, Trixie stopped. She had always done this when things turned sour: run away and leave it to others to handle. Then Starlight Glimmer came along.

Starlight wouldn't run.

Swallowing a breath, Trixie groaned. She glanced through the chaos for whoever looked like the weakest link—which she quickly discovered didn't leave her much choice. But there was one, and in the slow seconds that passed, she made up her mind. "You! The not-pony with the camera!" Trixie trotted after Frank West, pointing him down with a hoof and a glare to match. "The Great and Powerful Trixie challenges you to a duel!" Whether he reciprocated or not, her horn was already glowing. "Take this!"

And from her horn, she shot out...

A pathetically small bolt of electricity, at most tickling Frank.

Cingling to the pretty gem that feels like putting your hand inside a freezer, Sage whispered prayers at it as if his life depended on it. It wasn't for that much, after all the armlet was nicely in place! But maybe it could for others... Which just made the need to relax or something even that more important...!

The two magicians continued wroughing whatever kind of chaos up in the stage; He gave them no attention. Venom's roar rang and put the pyromancer and even more of a frantic attempt to relax- Pay them no mind, pay them no mind, come on come on! He can do this, it was going somewhere! All around the flames seemed to have grown tamer, no longer flickering against a non-existing wind.

Just there... Just waiting.
Same as Sage whose struggle he felt, was coming to an end...

May oxygen-deprived sleep come for him soon. The pyromancer glanced at Hershel wondeering if he could lean against the Duke for a bit... If he would be allowed a nice short moment before the lights went out for good- What help he was, knocking himself out of the issue altogether.

He'll feel shame about that one later.
...Or so everybody would have prefered...

"Sage"

Sage
Sage
Sage
Sage
Sage
Sage
Sage
Sage.
Of the many times he wished to have been named differently, this had probably taken the cake on all of them. The word seemed to reverberate inside his mind, bouncing, echoing, leaving no place to hide from the vile command. Against his wishes, he had been prompted awake and everything was about to get turned upside down...

The ice gemstone is let go off as if it was worthless, clinking against the ground. Forsaken.

Why. Whywhywhywhy- He had just wanted to keep the others safe!! Had he been too slow?? Should he have found a way to knock himself out?? That's it, wasn't it? He should have tried harder. He can heal afterwards!! This was a test. It was a test and he's failed it.

...Please forgive him-!!!!

"Nonononono, don't do it- Don't make me do it...!!!"

It's pointless. Fighting the compulsion only makes it worse as the flames convey the Phoenix Descendand's desperation. He knows very well what expects them at the end of this road; He hates it. But still his hand reaches for the one object that's keeping it all in check. It's like watching someone open a pressure cooker before it's had time to release the pressure...

And much like the analogy, it's all about to explode--

He can only exchange a tearing up glance with Hershel before it's much too late.

Ah. Air, freedom...
AND THE VIOLENT BURST OF RAMPAGING HUNGRY BLUE FLAMES!!!

One by one, the lights of the tent explode. The fire is wild, finally acting as it naturally would- Tall, all-consuming. It reaches upwards climbing the walls of the tent, high, high, as higher as it can go. No one is safe. It cares not for the audience, for the other fighters; It cares not for a goal or a reason. A light fixture crashes down, unable to handle Its might-!!

After all, who needs illumination with a blaze as beautiful as this~?
It's an improvement, an honor!!

Foolish mortals. It was never your show to run...

"...Hehehehe Hahahahah AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

It's theirs. The Concepts that form Nature itself, those that can't be so easily controlled.

"I've heard you
wanted some Fire..."
, The Entity side-eyed Mabel, before quickly pulling them back in a show of disdain, "Oh, HOW I'M ABOUT TO
MAKE YOU
REGRET SUCH A WISH."

  • Kassandra's choice to stay out of trouble seemed to pay off- at least, for now. Other people's outbursts and questions seemed to divert the host's attention away from her, which made her at least relieved she wasn't going to be tossed around or played with. She'd have been devastated if they somehow stripped her of her equipment and put her into an awful dress to match their ugly outfits...

Still, the situation certainly warranted concern. Practically everyone was affected by the compelling magic... even Corvo. Still, it seemed he was at least capable of resisting to a certain degree- he was definitely holding back on some information. Guess I'm not the only one who still has secrets, huh? Maybe they could talk about it in private later. Now, though, was definitely not the time nor place. She'd have shot him a reassuring glance, but her face was still obscured by her visor... which was also picking up two new red blips aside from the performers.

Turns out one of the "new" blips was an old friend the other three Blood Gulch survivors probably would recognize. Lobo, one of the lone mercenaries who'd allied himself with the Meta, had been an absolute nightmare to deal with even with the quartet's might combined; the last thing they needed was another fight with the unkillable behemoth. The other was a "Will" who was apparently powerful enough to change reality. If that was the case, then how did these two brats make the Will submit? That, and the fact his name rhymed with "Bill", had ignited a warning fire in her mind. Not that she was in any position to ask questions...

A small part of the Eagle Bearer wanted to let Lobo free to see if he would help beat up the two brats on stage, but his words weren't exactly reassuring, and they'd have to deal with recontaining him right afterwards. She was pretty certain he wasn't the kind to forget past transgressions, so the mere presence of her old party would probably make negotiations impossible.

Someone started shouting at the crazy girl- which, to be fair, her words closely resembled what the Greek was thinking- only to be interrupted by sweet whispers. Even though those words weren't directed to her, they sent shivers down her spine. Moments later, Asuka turned to the group with a sickening blue-eyed gaze- clearly a form of mind control not unlike Persephone's influence upon the citizens of Elysium. This time around, she didn't have the Staff of Hermes to liberate any of their minds. So for now, all she could do was watch as a large portion of their group was picked off one by one...

    Including Corvo and Aloy.

"No... Don't listen to her, you two!" The swordswoman's helmet couldn't mask the panic in her voice as she immediately called out to the duo, but she could tell her words came too late. Her heart sank as they, too, succumbed to the madness, and for a moment all she could do was stop and watch. Even as chaos began to break out, she felt frozen in place- sick at the thought of having to fight her friends.

The scene changed and shifted as the performance grew grander in scale. Lobo's laundry-list of charges made the hairs on her neck stand on end, but she could tell he was well-beyond her ability to do anything about, given the very nature of their introduction. Reverentia knew better than to throw her life away on an unwinnable fight, though it was a lesson hard-learned. Besides, they had bigger immediate problems than a muzzled lunatic, no matter how powerful (and evil) he may have been. Like putting out the fire that was going to release said lunatic, and, by extension, the actual source of all their problems: A mopey, depressed, weeping, all-powerful triangle.

Reverentia was not particularly fond of multiversal travel so far.

While Reverentia would have preferred to openly rebel against the Twin's machinations, the simple reality of their situation was that they had to play their game, at least for now. An opportunity for that rebellion would hopefully present itself, given time. Instead of what she'd like to do (that being something immediately and impulsively violent), she swallowed her pride and made her way towards what she thought was the best mark for her in their impromptu arena. A dark-haired woman with cat ears and a kindred, brooding spirit, which was unfortunately exactly why Reverentia hadn't gone to talk to her earlier. She didn't tend to get along much with people that had a lot in common with her. The irony of that fact was not lost on her, but it remained nevertheless true.

Still, despite her reservations about not being the only broody woman in black in the room, she approached. It was all a bit of a reach. Their supposed similarities were extremely superficial and entirely taken in at a glance from earlier, after which myriad chaotic things had happened to warp Reverentia's perspective. For all the Hobgoblin knew, that they were both moody, quiet, and darkly dressed was the end of it, and she was about to engage in a fight with some foreign, omnipotent cat-demigod. But a shaky guess was better than a completely random one. In the back of her mind, she could practically hear her friends chiding her for gambling her life on a maybe, but Reverentia pressed forward. These people weren't in control of their actions. She didn't want to hurt them anymore than she had Jason.

Of course, she'd hurt Jason anyway.

As she approached, Reverentia raised her hands in an uncharacteristically peaceful gesture. She tried to recall advice Tigris had given her for resisting similar magic as she spoke, steadily, but slowly, advancing. "I don't want to fight you... Blake, right? Focus on the sound of my voice. Drown out all other sound with that focus. I can tell from looking at you. You are stronger than this." She doubted Blake could even really hear her, and, if she did, there was no telling that the advice would change anything at all. Her words were more meant to potentially placate Blake in the extremely short term, rather than having any real hope of diffusing the conflict, and even that was the best case scenario. If anything, the only reason she'd managed to get them out uninterrupted was because she took the initiative before the enchantment forced Blake to act against her will. Ultimately, whether her words accomplished anything didn't really matter -- there wasn't a lick of honesty in them. Again, she had healing potions. Again, the strange cat woman would forgive her, as Jason would.

Hopefully.

Abruptly and without warning, Reverentia lowered herself into that almost animalistic fighting style, lunging with abrupt speed and peerless aggression. Her fist promptly came rocketing toward's Blake's jaw, electricity flowing through her armor. It was a Hail Mary, an all-or-nothing punch that was meant to end the fight on the spot, should it strike true. After all, an unconscious Blake opened the way to the flames. An unconscious Blake stood between them and certain death. An unconscious Blake was the key to their victory. That reward was worth the stinging guilt that lingered on her mind the entire way, but didn't show in her eyes.

She stood off to the side as everything had unfolded. Not a word left her lips for the time being as she had distanced herself from most of the crowd, but when the second act of this sick and twisted show began, she looked on in disbelief at the bound captive - with the flame trailing along towards the captive in question. Though he was bound, he certainly had a loud mouth and a boisterous attitude - understandably quite agitated at the situation he was in. She gritted her teeth in annoyance as she began to process the situation - which only proceeded to get worse.

It was like the glass shattered in her head when she heard her name being called out. She let out a sharp gasp as that strange feeling had essentially brought her to her knees once more, suppressing her own free will and not giving her a say in the matter at all. Without another word, this powerful spell had infiltrated her head and overridden her psyche - and inevitably marched over to join the others who had met this same fate.

When she would later find herself side-by-side with her other allies-turned-puppets, she turned to face her opposition as the blue shine in her eyes intensified due to Mabel's influence, and then...

TheOriginalSandsUndertale.gif

Ablaze with new life, the brutal blue flame emanating from her left eye shone brightly - though it appears it is harmless to the girl it is emanating from. Her eyes scanned the horde of people in front of her until she settled on someone that she had identified as a threat - a towering giant of well-built proportions that could likely snap her spine like a stick and crush just about anyone in the tent if he so desired. Though she was not clear how much of that was true, her overridden brain had only one immediate goal - she had to keep him busy, so that the rest of the mind-wiped crew could focus on everybody else without the threat of such a behemoth to rampage through them.

Furthermore, something that threatening will need a bit more firepower than normal.

POV-HeavyTF2.gif

After the weapon had transformed from your typical rifle into its current state, she aimed towards his chest with hardly any delay after it had finished.

What started as a single projectile rocketing through the air towards him, rapidly closing the large gap of air as it travelled, quickly escalated into dozens or even hundreds of more by the second. The suppressing fire continued with the intent to distract and harass the titan of a man from a safe distance - and whether he liked it or not, he was the priority target in her crosshairs.

Oh crap-

Raz watches in shock as Sage's flames spark and rise- no, that couldn't be him, could it? Unless he was just putting up a seriously good facade earlier, this didn't seem like Sage at all! It was such a sudden change too, something had to be off. Not to mention Hershel's mention of some sort of entity- alright, so this wasn't an overcharged fight-or-flight response like Maligula was, but how could they get that entity to stop or just- just out entirely?!

Regardless of the answer to that, Raz couldn't put Sage's flames and Mabel's flames out at once! He lets out a quick shaky breath as he tries to figure out how to go about this, only for Kassandra to swoop in and assure Raz that she would handle the other flames. Raz nods in response. "Alright, but tell me if you need help in some way, and I'll figure something out!"

Meanwhile, from the moisture in the air gathered via Raz's hydrokinesis, bits of water have begun swirling around Raz's arm - he was trying to form just enough to successfully put out the flames that Mabel had sparked! So far, it's... well, it's not at a snail's pace, but not necessarily the fastest either - it was mentioned that Raz's hydrokinesis was somewhat hindered by his passing hydrophobia, after all.

Damned abyss of souls, that was faster than he had hoped for.

Toayi, the volatile entity of fire had hit the field, and also drawn all attention to themselves. The duke clicked this tongue as he turned back to Orbeck, digging into his pouch once again and pulling out some partially transparent white gems, alongside some deeper blue ones, all of them engrained on silvery metal coins with technical engravings.

"Orbeck" He called for his scholarly acquaintance, handing over all the coins to him.
"The white ones can 'inhale air', the blue ones can make everything colder until they turn lighter, use them should the situation call for it"

The duke nodded to himself and promptly sprinted out of the scene, leaving dust and wind behind, towards Toayi so would be knocked out of the fight, he would make sure of it

He wanted to make sure of it. But fate had other plans,

as a force like a charging bull hurtles into Hershel's periphery and slams into his midsection. His breath is forced from his lungs by the impact as he's taken off his feet and slammed hard into the floor in the aisle. He's given scarcely any time to catch his breath before a more pressing sensation greets him.

The heat of a sword's tip, blazing with flaming energy as it nears Hershel's throat.

For the moment, Rex stands stoic and wordless, as if savouring -- or prolonging -- the moment. Gazing into his one good eye is a haunting sight; where once it brimmed with light and colour, even at a glance, now there is utterly nothing. A blank canvas of golden brown, the life wrung from his face like a spent towel.

Oh son of the crimson dog-

"Ugh-" The tackle hurt far more than he had expected initially, having spotted the man at the last instant and braced himself.

And as the towering specimen of a warrior had him at sword point on the ground, the duke's mind raced, and without losing a beat, punched the flat of the blade with his right, and grabbed the blade proper with his left armored hand, attempting to pull Rex in as his upper body moved decisively forward, his head aiming to strike the assailant's own.

And while doing so, he remembered those lifeless eyes that stared him down. This was a good man forced to awful things, and he will make sure Rex is not filled with regrets from it

Rex's body moves with a cold, machine-like brutality as his blade is smacked away. Deliberately, calmly, he plants his feet as Hershel pulls the blade forward--

--and lets it go, watching as it fades away in red motes of light in Hershel's grasp. He snarls and brings his other arm around, wielding a white sword humming with the same searing energy, and swings to take Hershel's head off.

"!! Tch!" The man only gets to make a sound in surprise, clicking his tongue as the blade of light headed towards his neck.

As it inched closer, his body reacted before his mind could. His grasping left hand moved, and grabbed onto his closed first. Both arms lowered for an instant, before bursting upwards with incredible force, striking at the blade of light and pushing its trayectory to just over Hershel's head, searing some hairs on the way.

Using the momentum of his defense, The moving arms changed position, palms opened and above his head. Soon after, the duke's legs flexed, keens lifted as his bottom and feet remained on the ground, muscles burst with powerful force, and Hershel kicked off the ground upwards.

The movement gave him enough momentum to place his arms on the floor, using the leverage and previous momentum to aim two kicks from metal-reinforced boots at Rex's center mass. Yet, one leg seemed to be more extended than the other, aiming for a possible backwards dodge and strike at his opponent's chin.

"Heed my words, Unkindled One. Fear the fire..."
Cornyx of the Great Swamp

(Fanart by atomicjest on Reddit)

And fear it they shall. For it seems fate has been most unfortunate to himself, and the rest of this group. The first may as well have come as a slight shock to the sorcerer. As a certain someone makes her appearance. One...
"FLANDRE SCARLET!~"

...Flandare Scarlet. It may as well have felt like too long since those few encounters with the Scarlet Sisters. He doubts that it was the same Flandare that he knows of, given the particular... nuances of the multiverse. But there was no doubting his own intuition as a sorcerer. If she refrains her self, she may as well prove a valued member of this group. And yet may as well be the reason for being picked as a puppet. If it wasn't for the Shrine maiden intervening in. There might be more cause for concern. But at this point, there are MUCH more ill fated issues to deal with.

The twins have picked out Sage of all people. And from his own experiences interacting with the Phoenix descendent, the implications of Toayi taking control control, makes a stroll though demon infested catacombs seem tame in comparison. The literal flames of chaos that sustain the demons back in his own world would pale in comparison to this. So as much as he would have preferred to end this entire situation decisivelyby going after "Will Cypher". The former issue must take priority.

There. was no time waste. From the few gem imbeded coins Hershel took out. He has the means to suppress Toayi. And while he may lack the means to directly assist in suppressing the ravenous flames, there is only so much one man can do within the literal frenzy given the six or so other individuals who where now under the twins wins.

For example, the raging, mind controlled husk of a man struggling with Hershel

As rex was atempting to cut down Hershel , he would find himself struck by the force of a soul arrow. In an attempt to get his attention away from Hershel.

No time was wasted as Orbeck ran over to assist him back up.

"Do what you must to suppress him, Hershel! I'll keep him and the rest of them at bay!" He shouted simply. It only a matter of time before rex makes a dash straight for him next

The Soul Arrow comes from Rex's blind spot, and in conjunction with Hershel's counterattack, it's enough to throw him off kilter for the moment. Orbeck and Hershel's exchange comes during a reprieve as Rex catches his breath, but it's little more than precious seconds. Once Rex is back on his feet, the red sword materialises once again in his hand, burning through the surrounding chairs as he sprints toward Hershel.

Rex pivots on his heel, bringing both swords up and around to swing in a full 360 degree arc, both swords blazing streaks of fire and light as they swing for Hershel's mass -- and if that wasn't enough, he keeps the momentum going and leaps into the air for a second set of slashes much like the first, imbued with enough power to carve smoldering gouges into the floor between the two.
