HELLA QUEER
Our story begins in the mountains of Forella. Atop one of the largest, sits the castle of the Royal family Cattaneo. The castle is busy this morning as servants prepare for the arrival of their guests from neighboring kingdom, Scela. (And rivaling might I also add). There was much gossip and chatter about the visiting Royal Family. What were they like? Were they as rough and uncivilized as tale said? Would they show up in old clothes that were in desperate need of washing? And what would they think of Forella? The weather in the Mountains during the summer was pleasant, but could also get rather hot. Would these folk from the valley be able to handle it? So much excitement within the walls had the common folk giddy. Our Royal Families however? Well let's see how they were feeling about the situation.
The King found it hard to sleep the night prior. So much ran through his head as the hours ticked by. More than once, Anthony got up from bed to pace around and speak his thoughts aloud. "You mustn't say anything to offend the King. Peace is dependent on this union. But then again, you mustn't let him think he can walk all over you either. And be polite to the Queen...But not too polite you don't want her or the King to get the wrong idea." You get the picture. To say the King did not sleep well would be an understatement. He hoped that his wife Josselyn was able to get better sleep than himself. She was much better in social situations than he was and Andrew needed her to be on her toes for this morning. The Scelans were to show up just before breakfast, and they were all to dine together as a welcome. And as the run rose above the horizon, Anthony knew that after today, nothing would be the same.
He quickly got out of bed and dressed in some of his finest clothes. A fine, velvet red tailcoat with gold embroidery to show off his national pride; nice black slacks accompanied the coat and he finished it off with a very fluffy, and very white cravat. He placed a simple gold crown with rubies atop his head. (As simple as a gold crown with rubies can be). He did not want to intimidate the foreign king with his riches just yet. Although it was common knowledge that the Forellan kingdom was very wealthy and the Canttaneo Family enjoyed flaunting their wealth. Anyways. Once he was dressed, Anthony made his way towards his study to finish up a few documents before the Scelans arrived. Also to calm his nerves so he wouldn't spontaneously combust during breakfast.
Rosaline was tired. Tired of riding in the uncomfortable carriage, tired of her annoying translator, but most importantly, tried of thinking about this stupid wedding. It was all that the poor Princess could think about as of the past few weeks. Preparing for the journey to Forella was anything but pleasant. She had servants down her neck every second of the day, and the incessant reminders from her mother to behave herself and make a good impression. All Rosie wanted to do was say "Screw the Prince! I'm adjudicating my throne and moving to Switzerland!" (Whatever Switzerland is) But alas, she could not abandon her family nor her people. It was her duty, as Crown Princess of Scela, to marry this Prince and bring peace to their kingdoms. But how she loathed the thought of it! It made her blood boil and her heart sink to think that for the rest of her life, she'd be stuck in a loveless, arranged marriage to the Prince of a kingdom whom her kingdom has fought with for centuries. And then she thought of her lady in waiting, Aria Mellows. Just the thought of the redhead made Rosie's heart grow soft. How she loved Aria. She loved the way her curly hair framed her face just perfectly. And how beautiful and mysterious her brown eyes were. Rosie loved how Aria's eyes softened when they were alone; when it just the two of them, out of prying eyes and they both could truly be themselves. But reality set back in as the carriage hit a particularly large rock that sent Rosie flying out of her seat, and onto the floor. She groaned in annoyance as she lifted herself up and back onto the bench. She would have a strong word with the footman when this was all done. Soon the carriage came to a stop, and Rosie didn't know if it because the horses needed water, or if they had finally arrived. But when she saw the footman open the door, and the large castle outside, Rosie knew. It was time. And her life would never be the same.
