Avyanna never really considered herself to be a unique person. As a child, her young parents doted on her, giving her everything their small paychecks could afford and praising her for everything she did. It was the same with her older brother Blake. Though her parents were even younger when they'd had him, they were full of life and love and wanted to share it with their children and the world.

Annie was seven and Blake was thirteen when their parents were torn from them, taken by a motor vehicle accident that left the children without parents. Too young to take care of themselves, they were taken from their city and dumped into the lap of their aunt, their mother's sister, who lived in a small coastal California town.

Annie fell in love with the area right away, though it took Blake much longer to get acclimated. Their aunt was a kind enough woman, but she'd never had kids for a reason and it showed. She didn't know how to take care of a child, much less two. Luke became Annie's caretaker of sorts, and she looked up to him.

He got into the wrong crowd as a teenager, selling drugs and stealing to make ends meet. Their aunt wasn't having it; she kicked him out. What she hadn't told them was that she was very sick, and her time was running out. She left her house to Annie, and she passed when Annie was sixteen, still too young to be by herself. It was either go into the system or let Blake come home; she chose the latter.

Now it's the two of them, has been ever since. Things were tense at first, but they've come to a mutual understanding of sorts. However, becoming a mermaid was definitely something she couldn't have planned for...

Bio: Sarya's mother was a siren who fell in love with a human. It was an almost unheard of occurrence for a siren to love a human let alone bear one's child. Because of this, Sayra's mother died in childbirth and her father was left to raise her. Her father already had a son from a previous marriage. He raised the to children the best he could. They were well taken care of and most of all they were loved. In middle school, Sarya started to develop some special powers. She found it easy to get people to do what she wanted. All the boys and even the girls gave her attention and she loved it. Around this time Her father was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. He died Sarya's first year of high school leaving Cillian to care for them both.

After Sarya graduated she and Cillian decided that they couldn't stay in town anymore. There were too many painful memories so the packed up everything they cared about into Lola and drove off across the country. Sarya was still getting the handle of her powers but she used them on almost everyone they met. She loved having people pay attention to her and do what she wanted. Because she and Cillian were family her powers were useless on him so he acted as her consciousness. Sayra was getting out of control with her want to manipulate people. On their travels, they met a siren who like Sarya's mother had fallen in love with a human. Her love had died long ago but she had never returned to her ways as a siren. She told Sarya that she was losing herself to the siren song. She explained that not all sirens were murderous temptresses, in fact, most weren't. Those who succumbed to the siren song were those who became drunk on the feeling of luring people to their deaths. If Sarya couldn't control her power she would end up like the siren's seen in myths. With Cillians help, Sarya was able to control her hunger for attention, though she still struggles from time to time. They decided to move to Meridian to try and keep out of trouble.

Bio: Cillian's mother left his father when he was only one. A year later Cillian had a baby sister, Sarya. From a young age, he was protective of her. When their father died and he was left in charge of her he tried his best to get her through high school. Soon after she graduated they decided that they needed to move on from this town. Cillian sold most of the things they owned. He and Sarya packed their most prized possessions into Lola, the car his dad and him had rebuilt. As they traveled, Cillian noticed a change in his sister. She had always been able to manipulate people because of her siren powers, but now she was starting to enjoy it. When Cillian tried to get her to stop she snapped at him and they had a big fight which was something that had never happened before. Cillian had read an old news article about a woman who came into town and everyone became infatuated with her. It sounded similar enough that he and Sarya packed up and drove to the town of this supposed siren. They tracked her down and Cillian asked for her help. They learned about that Sarya was falling into the siren song. With Cillians help, Sarya was able to overcome the lure of the power and they decided to move to the quiet town of Meridian.

Delphine is someone who enjoys her alone time just as much as she enjoys spending time with others. When first meeting her people note that she’s a little shy. Delphine has a little trouble when it comes to others. She can be awkward towards strangers and can come off as a little rude. Delphine is a compassionate person with a love for helping others and life.She’s someone who sticks up for the downtrodden when she can. Delphine has had a pretty normal life in her opinion, except for the whole mermaid thing. Her family can be labeled as middle classs with her father being a dentist and her mother a teacher. The two of them dated in high school and were married after graduating. Delphine came first and they were elated. Her family was a loving one and it only expanded with the birth of her little brother.

In school she was fairly popular as a member of the track and cheerleading teams. Her grades were good, she worked hard to maintain a steady A+ average. To sum it up her life was that of a typical teenager, until one day it wasn’t anymore.

Bio: Beginning around 1930, James Bevins first made contact with what he understood to be a siren. James was an avid reader and a fan of mythology, so when he and his buddies were out sailing and came upon an entrapment on the rocks, he knew immediately from the call what it could be. His friends were far from believers, until one of the younger members lost his life to the siren's call. Still, nobody on land could believe when James was the only man left alive when his mangled ship arrived back on shore. Why they left him alive he had no idea, but he devoted the rest of his life to finding out every answer he could; grief to the maddened man. James continued his search, tagging his family in on his endeavors. He began to develop a cult following of sorts, friends and family swearing their lives to his cause. They searched and sought, hunting for sirens. Lives were lost, sirens were tagged and slaughtered on the shores. Somewhere along the line, the intent was no longer scientific, and became a sport or a divine intervention from these 'hell creatures'. This was when the group was named Fishers of Men, stemming from the biblical story of St. Peter and his brother receiving their mandate by Jesus. And so it began.

Nearly sixty years later, Nathaniel Bevins and his wife Missy stumbled upon something they would never have believed. Somewhere on the coast of Australia, they stumbled upon a group of girls that were afflicted with what the Bevins believed to be A Siren's Curse. They were marked mermaids, and the Bevins' watched and interrogated them harshly. A new goal fell upon the family, to find these tide pools that afflicted people with this curse, and to stop them.

Zachary is the youngest of six siblings, all devoted brothers and sisters to the 'family business'. Zach recognizes the weight on his shoulders to uphold their family traditions, but of all the siblings he remains the most laid back. He attends his hunting lessons and his combat ready at all times, but he much prefers to laze about on the beach or spend afternoons with his friends. The Bevins' have been living in their coastal home for some time now, and when Zach was seven he had an occurrence of nearly drowning out on their beach front. No one had been paying attention to the youth, and in their neglect the child was swept away by the tide. By some miracle, Zach was returned to the shore, and to this day they blame it on the tide. Still, the boy has an aversion to deep water and it shows.

The family has yet to hear of any reports, but all eyes are on the lookout.

Personality: Persephone is a loyal and bubbly girl. You treat her with kindness and she will only show you kindness in return. In fact some people have said that she seems very clueless and a bit air headed, but that is only because she really enjoys the company of her friends and family. Persephone often laughs, especially when she is in an awkward situation. Persephone has a short temper though, for if someone were to insult her friends or family in any way she will go at them with the fury of a bear. Persephone has even physically punished those stupid enough to betray her, which has gotten her in trouble with many before. She also isn't the smartest person in the world, which is another reason people believe her to be stupid. Persephone also happens to zone out quite a bit, often day dreaming in her own world. The only other thing besides her family and friends that Persephone gets all particular about it her collection. She has a collection of sea slugs in a tank in her room and is rather possessive of them, which has stopped her from having a lot more friends then she has.

Bio: Persephone grew up in Meridian and lived there all her life. She was born to her mother; Melanie, and father; Steve. Persephone was obviously named after the greek goddess of the underworld and spring herself, which would seem weird to others, but when your mom is a history teacher and your father is a anthropologist it is quite normal. They actually debated naming her Demeter, which would have sounded quite weirder, but the theme had to be spring due to her birthday month of April. Regardless of her birth name, Persephone prefers to be called Pepi by her close friends, it is quite unique, in a different way from her name.

Persephone grew up being bullied a bit, because of her name and her obsession with sea slugs. At first this made Persephone a very discouraged child, very meek and silent. After one day when a boy within her 2nd grade class decided to take it too far. He got his friends to pull her hair and then make her watch as he smashed a sea slug with a rock. Needless to say it was the wrong move to make, Persephone snapped at them. People say she bit the boy's hand so hard that he has a scar in the shape of Persephone's then teeth. When she bit the boy she was missing a lot of front teeth, let's just say it is a weird indent to say the least. The boys became scared of Persephone after that and she decided that she was going to stand up for herself. Unfortunately Perssphone's temper went unchecked, due to her lack of friends till middle school, and she became a very unstable person.

Lucky for Persephone none of that matter when it came to being hired at the local bagel shop, just as long as she didn't throw anything at the customers. Persephone actually continues to work there, whilst she takes online courses for a degree in cooking, weirdly enough. She takes practical classes at a nearby center, but she needs the stupid written degree to be able to open her own place. Her parents have even agreed to support her with this endeavor. The one thing she hasn't been able to tell them though, was this sudden revelation that she can turn into a mermaid?! What kind of 90's sitcom has her life turned into?

Blake had an uneventful childhood, until his parents were taken from him. He'd already accepted his role as big brother and protector, but he just couldn't bring himself to get along with their aunt when he and his sister went to live with her. She wanted them to be a certain way, and he just wasn't about to mold himself into her box.

The gang he got himself into as a teenager wasn't what you'd normally expect. They were hunters, and they taught him all about mermaids and how to hunt them. It's something he definitely kept from his family, and he has no idea that his sister is one of the creatures he hunts.
