The Loving Spoon

Tilly gave a nod, and moved to quickly whip up some hash browns to go with the bowl of soup. Not long after, the kettle of tea was set on the stove. Tilly liked to make things the old fashioned way, felt it tasted better. "Right away, loverly."

Soup was ready, but she kept it in the pot, stirring now and then while waiting on the hash browns to flip, and the kettle to whistle. "Ooh, was busy 'nuff, I suppose. Felt like the day jus' slipped righ' on by." She gave Hatsu a smile, before Tilly focused on getting his meal done.

Food seemed to always cook quickly in the cafe, or was done in a much shorter time than expected. Hot, fresh, and so very tasty, it wasn't a wonder why Tilly's cafe was a popular place to grab some grub. "How 'bout you, loverly?" She was very nearly ready to serve Hatsu his food.

OOC Information

Hatsu silverwhere silverwhere : She looked your way, sought eye contact as she waited for your answer. It was an innocent question, typically returned when one asked someone else about their day, they would ask the same. Nothing out of the ordinary there, but Tilly did seem to be waiting to hear about your day as she scooped the soup into a bowl.

Rhevens stuck his hands in his pockets while Silver tested the strange boundary for herself. "Eh-heh, I felt pretty close to it, until this was shown to me. Trying to always hide what I was, got old real fast. Dad comes here too sometimes, but seems to really affect the younger generation, as dad puts it." He gave a bit of a laugh, eyes shifting to the scenery.

Then he addressed how to find the place, "Well, you did seem rather eager to get uh.. changed. Eh-heh." A bit of a shrug with both shoulders, then he made a vague sweeping motion with one hand, like someone showing off the place. "Now that you've been here, you should be able to find it again and yeah, scent will lead you. Scent and instinct, least wise, that's how it works for me. Someone else had to show it to me first, and then.. it just was here, any time I needed it to be."

Rhevens gave a bigger grin then, wriggled his eyebrows and all. "You can stay longer if you want, but dad will have my hide if I don't get some chores done before bed. All you gotta do, is walk slowly backward, like this." He gave a bit of a hand wave, in case she wanted to stay longer, and Rhevens strolled very casually backward into the barrier. And through.

OOC Information

Silver Silver- Silver- : It looked like someone walking out of a big bubble, the way the barrier rippled slightly, bending but never popping. Rhevens' form was temporarily swallowed by the folds of this 'bubble', and then it snapped back into place. A blurred image of Rhevens waving could be seen a moment later, on the other side of the barrier.

Dapper was smiling at the small cat before he drew the feline into the crook of an arm. He did his best to keep a firm, yet gentle, hold on the cat so it wouldn't just jump back out. While he pet Indy's head with the other hand, he looked up at the stranger asking about someone else. "Silver? Hm, no. This feline isn't named Silver. Though, a different color for sure."

He gave a bit of a deep chuckle, "Though call her by the color she's named after, and she'll more than likely have your hide. Isn't that right?" He spoke to the cat in his hold then, the smile one of fondness and memory. "More like Indiana Jones, if you ask me."

As a quick aside, he turned his head and spoke to Seraphim before she grew curious enough to leave her desk. "Nothing to worry about, Sera. Just a cat needing help getting back home." There was a sly smirk as his head nodded in the direction of a certain sneaky canine. "Might want to call Augie and let him know his mutt is here." Dapper then gave the dog that same smirk before peering around Aódh at the gentleman waiting outside.

"Is that Silver?" And he gestured toward Bernard on the other side of the doors.

OOC Information

Aódh & Bernard Larry Larry Worthlessplebian Worthlessplebian : Dapper doesn't know the name Silver, but sure seems to know the cat. He handles the feline like he's been around cats before and knows how to hold even those who wriggle the most.

Indy Rhyme Rhyme : Definitely Dapper, and he's totally recognized you. He holds you just like he used to when Beth had him catsitting you back in the day. Fingers petting down along the middle of your head, from between the eyes to a smooth stroke backward toward your ears. He used that method to keep you calm in the past.

Riley KodakWolf KodakWolf : Oh, he saw you. He totally saw you, and isn't afraid to narc you out to the innkeeper. There's a certain sensation of smugness in the smirk he gave afterward, and it gives chills.

Past, Present, Future?

Roje's fist made a solid connection with Kevin's nose, and bones cracked underneath. The man was sent stumbling backward until he hit the edge of the counter. One hand came up swiftly, only to come away with blood as his nose was broken. His eyes grew wide, and he started swinging the hand holding the bottle. "You BITCH!"

His movements were slowed by his state of inebriation, and not terribly difficult to avoid if one wasn't a thirteen year old kid. Didn't stop him from swinging wildly though. The bottle wound up smashing against the nearby wall, sending shards to the floor and making the swinging a little more dangerous.

Justin had been quietly crying, but now with his big sister in the line of fire, he started yelling, screaming, "STOP IT! STOP! STOOOOP!" His voice was filled with raw emotion. He struggled to get to his feet, but the backhand had him seeing stars, and his balance wasn't the best.

OOC Information

Roje Britt-21 Britt-21 : Kevin's still swinging wildly with the now broken bottle, and lunging forward where he knew you to be standing last. Justin's getting back up, using the chair and table to help steady himself. (Same thing as before, give me a roll in Discord.)

Home Sweet Home

All while trying to eat and relax, Bill's mind continued to go over the information she came across in her tomes. Even Mary was quiet, and only disturbed Bill for a few pets, and her fair share of the food. There wasn't denying Marasong had its own magic, but the type of magic was much more difficult to discern.

Bill knew there were other witches, there was Beatrice, who had helped with the fire. There was Alyce, who had helped with the bug box. There might be others around, it was difficult to say, with everyone hiding their true nature in Marasong. In both instances, the magic had become boosted, or changed somehow. Was it just Marasong itself, or something with the combination of Bill's magic and theirs?

Then you have all the denizens of the place, some with innate magic, others with magic not capable of manifesting in the world like most would expect magic to behave. Some beings used magic only within, perhaps to change forms, like a werecreature. Based on what Bill's experienced so far, it wasn't a stretch of the imagination to believe there were quite a few other 'magical' beings than she could even fathom.

So what, or who, affected Bill's ability to remember the passing of the day?

OOC Information

Bill BillieRoss BillieRoss : It's a lot to try and handle yourself. Maybe it's time to resign yourself to calling in for help. It didn't have to be from family, but maybe they might know of a coven in the area, or at least familiar with the area. Maybe a longshot, maybe everything will be hunky dory tomorrow and the last couple of days was just a fluke. Maybe it's just time to turn in early, magic be damned.

Dead Men Can Tell No Tales

River was highly nervous, as it seemed the anticipation of being killed was as bad, if not worse, than actually being killed. When Leif reached for him, he held up a hand and started to stammer, "Wait. uh.. just.. I.." Crack. His body finally stopped the anxious fiddling only when his neck was snapped.

River's body lay on the floor, head rolled to face Leif, unseeing eyes open and staring. It was anyone's guess as to how long it would take for the man to return. That is assuming River was even telling the truth about what he could do. Unfortunately, the doubting questions seep in because there truly hadn't been time to ask how it all worked. Surely, it wasn't something someone would like about, right?

As for the effects of River's blood, it was unlike anything Leif had experienced. The raw power was greater than Chase, and yet detached somehow. It felt like a foreign entity almost, racing through the vampire's veins with sparkling intensity. As Leif was able to just sit and absorb what the hell had just happened, there was a small part, a few moments, Leif had missed until hindsight hit.

He had glimpsed a very tiny bit of what River was seeing when drinking his blood.

OOC Information

Leif KodakWolf KodakWolf : For those few seconds you were drinking from River, flashes pushed through your mind's eye. It started with a view from River's perspective, of you reaching for him and the sudden twist to break his neck. Then there was a great whooshing sound, a rushing in the ears. Like a panning of a camera backward, the view went from you staring at River's body while sitting on the floor, to a long dark tunnel. And just before you stopped drinking, there was this blue, nearly opaque, fog that filled the vision, and figures one might call ghostly began to appear.

You sure hope River hadn't been lying. And hopefully, it wasn't necessary for River to know who Chase and Turid are in order to find your answer.

Indy

Location: Done, Dusted, and Dappered
Tags: Out Of Words Out Of Words KodakWolf KodakWolf (boy) Worthlessplebian Worthlessplebian Larry Larry Mentioned: Silver- Silver-

The stranger certainly wasn't local, then. Indy could hear his accent dripping from every word as he spoke to Dapper pleasantly, no trace of the predatory focus he had previously worn while chasing her. Another traveler in Marasong, had he similarly landed on his ass as they had?

And Silver. Silver. They knew Silver? Had Silver sent two strangers out to hunt her?! No, that wasn't right, Silver wouldn't do that--but it was so hard to think as Dapper's hand ran a soft trail over her head with practiced ease. A purr was slowly building to a steady rattle in her chest, though she did her best to tamper it. Indiana Jones. Just as she wanted to find irritation in Augie's generous usage of nicknames, she wanted--expected--the spike of anger at the nickname but she only felt relief.

The human part of her was clawing forward. She could feel it on the precipice of her mind, drawn up by the reappearance of an old friend. She had thought Dapper was dead, gone at least--certainly long out of reach and best forgotten so the grief of his loss could not burn her forever. But was this Dapper her Dapper? Or would he too be some bastardized version of the people she knew, as this universe's version of Beth was? It should have worried her more, but she couldn't give any energy to the continued suspicion as her body went limp in his arms.

For so long now she had attempted to cling to the world with pinched fingers, first only for a foothold, then in an attempt to hold the shredded pieces of her life together as the Coven ripped it all apart. A sense of responsibility and all its accompanying guilt had consumed her for weeks on end; responsibility to her sister, to Silver, to those they came with and all left behind. It wasn't really her fault that they came to Marasong, but logic did not rule when guilt plagued the mind.

To be with Dapper again, the boy who had always cleaned her scrapes and lifted her from particularly tall trees on his shoulders--she could ease into his safety, fall into the reassurance his presence provided and for one singular fucking second feel at ease.

When Dapper spoke again Indy lolled over in his arms, turning to look to the dog that had managed to creep nearby. Her tail flicked as she prepared to taunt him with her safety from his jaws, yet...something seemed wrong. Was he...cowering? And Dapper--the tone of his voice as he mentioned Augie, something sounded nearly...off.

His fingers made another trail over her nose. Indy closed her eyes; it was probably fine.

Riley Adler / Boy

The tail wagged nervously nonstop as the dog observed all that went on around him. Suddenly, the two pursuers didn't seem all that threatening anymore... not when they were next to that one guy bewitching the cat. He wasn't Silver, yet he held the cat as if he owned it. And the cat seemed right at home in his arms.

Sure, he wasn't Silver, whoever Silver was. But the cat seemed happy enough. The man seemed happy with the cat. All good, right? He could go back to his pleasant routine of morning walks and breakfast at the beach. Right? He glanced out the window for Augie, but the man couldn't be seen yet.

He needed to find his way out. But the two pursuers were still in the way, and even if they looked a lot less threatening now, a lot more like lost tourists than evil kidnappers, Boy still wasn't fond of walking by them too closely.

He felt Dapper's glance before he turned his head to meet the man's gaze. And it made his fur bristle. Of course he saw him. He shouldn't have expected he'd sneak in fully unnoticed, not a dog the size of a german shepherd. The tail tapped faster on the ground when the man mentioned Augie, and anxiety crept in closer. Being seen by the creepy man was bad enough, now the smug motherfucker was ratting him out!

Why? Whether it was because Dapper just didn't like dogs, or because he didn't like Augie, it was a fact that Boy had to move now. The innkeeper for sure didn't like dogs, so it was a matter of time before she came for him. Possibly with a broom. But one only gets caught if one stands still. If he could at least find a way out himself, it would be less humiliating than being kicked out by the lovely, clean and shiny innkeeper. So he quickly crawled out from under the table and darted toward one of the hallways, as subtly as a large dog could. Hopefully he'd find a back door that said 'push', not 'pull'.

Well, this man couldn't have failed the test any more than he could have, or so Aódh reasoned in his mind. Even if Silver had just forgotten to mention this man, the fact that he explicitly mentioned that he didn't know of a Silver, at all, was a tad bit worrying. Despite this little adventure starting off as nothing more than a means to distract Bernard from progressing in his investigation of Mr. Tangaroa, he was actually beginning to worry about the little cat, even moreso now that she was in the hands of a stranger not only in his eyes, but also in the lack of this person's mention by Silver. The man, whatever his name, tried to play off the question with a joke, which only made Aódh's eyebrow arch in bemusement. He then turned his attention to Boy, who was strangely apprehensive about the entire situation, almost entrenched at the door. Finally, after all attempts of feasible deflection had been made, he glanced over behind the Irishman, his gaze landing on Bernard, whom he jokingly asked if that was Silver. I don't like this lad, the young man intuited to himself, his forehead cracking into a frown. There was something about his manner, the readiness he felt in making his opinions known, disparaging as they were in Boy's case, to other people. Yet, unnervingly to the youth, the cat seemed at ease in his grasp, so it wasn't as though Aódh could wrench Indy from the man in the instance that she was extremely uncomfortable.

So it was a difficult situation for the Irishman to traverse. He didn't know how to proceed; if only they had Silver with them, then this situation would have been remedied a lot more tidily.

"It would be quite negligent of me not to ask, since I was asked by Silver in the first place," he said, believing that the only artifice that can work now is pure bluntness, "But may I ask as to what you intend to do with her? She was with Augie only a short time ago, alongside Boy here. Myself and Bernard here, were asked to go after her when she suddenly darted from his side, entrusting us to get her back to the inn. Thankfully, she ended up making her own way back. So, knowing that Silver and Augie are both looking for her, I'd rather you not leave the inn until they arrive."

Eden

Dark eyes didn’t leave the rippling surface of the bubble for a good while until they snapped towards a sudden source of laughter. Silver’s shoulders briefly tensed upon realizing how distracted she’d been, trying to quickly recollect the subconscious words that had settled in her mind from what Rhevens had been mentioning. His father entered the domain occasionally, likely to stretch his wolf’s limbs, while Rhevens himself sought shelter in the eden himself after having been pushed to the edge. It reminded her of how she too had been placed in a position where all the vice and anguish that had been so carefully tucked away in her mind and body that the moment she’d had such a shake up, she had technically snapped. This place though—it didn’t allow those feelings to return. The burning in the pit of her stomach, the oppressive force on her chest and lungs as her father stood face to face with her, it didn’t dare to even come to a simmer.

“Changed? Why d’you say it like that?” She grumbled, a different kind of heat rushing down the back of her neck as embarrassment settled in. “I haven’t been a werewolf for very long.” She shook her head as he gestured, noting how the word ‘werewolf’ didn’t sit quite well. She wasn’t like him nor quite like what was normally portrayed through cinema. It felt different than that. “Scent and instinct,” Silver tilted her head at how exactly the way they managed to get through was so convenient after a single demonstration. “It almost sounds like you can call for it,” she observed his grin, almost offering him a smaller quip of her own, but her eyes flickered in surprise at the way he egressed the space. Backwards, with a little wave as if letting her know she was free to stay even as she hesitated before reaching out to grab him back reflexively.

Her surprise mixed with the solace environment had dulled her reaction time enough that she’d grasped nothing but air, Rhevens melting out of existence. Silver frowned a little at how quickly the forest had gone from comforting and doze-worthy to something more unfamiliar. She was left alone to her own devices, a sigh leaving her lips. There’s no use in being here on my own. No matter how much she’d craved being left by herself or sought to occupy the most lonesome spaces when she’d been more or less human, not being able to share it with another person kind of sucked.

Turning to face the forest, she took a deep inhale and allowed it to flow out of her lungs slowly to relish the scents before slipping through the fabric of the eden’s reality.

Dapper didn't seem to take any offense in Aódh's questioning, if anything, he smiled a little wider. "Oh, Indy belongs here. It's been a while since you've been home, hasn't it, Indy?" He turned his gaze to the relaxed cat in his arms, gently petting the feline's head and giving a scritch behind the left ear after each petting stroke. "I'm quite happy you're back."

Augie finally reached the inn, and after giving a nod and an "Excuse me" in passing to Bernard, headed inside to take in several things at once. Kit Kat was being held and petted by Dapper of all people, and a certain canine's tail was seen disappearing down a hallway off to the side. If the feline would have looked even the smallest bit less serene, Augie might have had more words with Dapper, but the cat looked more comfortable than he's seen yet.

"Dapper.." He was worried about Boy, who hadn't been very comfortable most of the day. "Uh.. excuse me a moment." Sara had already been moving out from behind the desk to see about the dog, when Augie arrived. "Sera. I'll get him, thanks!"

Dapper just gave Augie a bit of a smirk and a lift of one eyebrow, never ceasing the petting of the feline. Attention then shifted back to Indy. "Is Silver a new friend you made, Indy?" Then to Aódh, "And are you a new friend as well?"

OOC Information

Aódh & Bernard Larry Larry Worthlessplebian Worthlessplebian : Dapper doesn't look like he's going to abscond with the feline, even Seraphim isn't concerned, though she seemed perturbed about the dog in the lobby. Leaving Serenity

The barrier felt like walking through saran wrap, but more importantly, one could feel the moment they left 'Eden'. The calming serenity ebbed quickly away, leaving a small sense of loss behind, but also hope of finding it again when needed. Rhevens was waiting for Silver, his chin was tucked slightly, eyebrows lifted as he eyed her in silence until she had fully emerged from the secret glen.

"If you have any troubles finding it again, let me know. You should be able to though, if you trust your own instincts." The small upward tick of one side of his mouth into a sideways smile indicated he knew how hard it could be to trust in one's own instincts now and then. "You okay? Leaving it can be a bit.." He gave a small shrug. "..unsettling but.. just keep in mind it's not gone."

Rhevens looked like he wanted to hold a hand out for Silver to take, but just pushed his hands into the pockets of his pants. "Eh-heh. After a while, you'll learn to keep part of it with you. LIke, the uh, sense of peace. Like a little well you fill up while you're in the glen, to help you out in times when you really need the peace but can't take the time to go back to it yet. You know?" He waited for Silver to appear ready to go, even though he needed to get chores done, her well being seemed to be a higher priority.

OOC Information

Silver Silver- Silver- : The way Rhevens looks at you is familiar, in the weight of his gaze, and the warmth that blooms in his eyes. You get the feeling he'd forget all about his chores if you needed him for anything. Tilly got to work and started to make his order. Smells of freshly made hash browns filled the store as he waited for his meal.

"Ooh, was busy 'nuff, I suppose. Felt like the day jus' slipped righ' on by. How 'bout you, loverly?"

It was a simple question but Hatsu couldn't help but to think on it. He had a busy day with the time skip and finding out a weird eye was watching him. In the end, he didn't really want to think about it all he wanted was to eat food and go to sleep, but another part of him was curious if Tilly had the same experience. The cafe felt off but he wasn't sure if things were actually normal or if he was just blowing it out of proportions. If Tilly was somehow magical would it be smart for him to say something?

"It wasn't bad, just busy running around." It was smarter to not put his nose into any more trouble than what it was already in. He doubt Tilly would hurt him but he didn't want to risk it nor did he want to upset her.

"Weird question, but do you know if Augie is going to be here? I wanted to see if he had a metal detector. I lost something in the woods and it'll probably help."

It seemed to Aódh, at least, that this man had something completely different in mind when answering the question. Of course, it goes without saying that most animals you'd see in a given place are probably from that place, but there was something about the manner in which this man had spoken that struck out to the Irishman. It seemed like there was something more heavy-handed about this type of belonging, and less the congenial sort, 'This is where I want to be!' sort. Not that he could ask the cat what it wanted to do anyway, and, even if he could, given how relaxed the feline looked at the moment, ensconced in this person's arms, Aódh doubted that he would have gotten a good answer anyway. And yet, another aspect of the man's answer left the youth befuddled. 'You've been gone a long time...' and 'I'm glad to have you back...'? You'd swear Indy was a person the way this lad's talking to her, rang Aódh mental commentary, his eyebrows still crunched in a scrutinous fashion ever since those deflective comments were made. Whilst he denied the possibility of this being anything other than wasting time, searching for an acquaintance's pet in order to stave off a confidants' further investigation into the supranatural nature of this town, Aódh really couldn't help but see a tinge of Marasong's oddness in every single mundane action and interaction taking place within it and its environs. Despite his burgeoning reservations about this man, the fact that Indy seemed so at ease within his grasp, was enough of an indication that at the very least, she trusted him, notwithstanding that they were having this conversation in the Inn. Since Augie would no doubt make his way to the Inn, especially since Boy also found his way here, Aódh decided to wait until he arrived.

And, as luck would have it, he didn't have to wait too long at all.

Augie, in something of a huff from a light run, scooted past Bernard, making his inside the door. Boy, for some reason or another, ended up scuttling past the man, whom Augie called Dapper, and rounded a corner further into the inn. Seraphim, beginning to look a teensy bit fretful about the conversation, had already begun to move out from behind the counter before Augie put her at ease, stating that he was going to go off and get the canine. Aódh couldn't help but smile at the two of them. Then, his attention was sprung back to Dapper, who asked whether himself and Silver were friends of Indy.

"A friend? I'm afraid I'm not. I only arrived here off a tour bus two days ago," he said matter-of-factly, "Silver though, I believe, is one of Indy's owners, alongside another lady who I had seen in the Loving Spoon an hour or two ago. I'm surprised you don't know her, given you're so friendly with her cat."

The majority of this affair left Bernard silent, preferring to withhold his thoughts rather than make them known. Aódh had taken the charge in communicating with this odd man, who embosomed this tanned-and-dark feline near his breast, digits moving with rehearsed and well-versed familiarity upon the fur-fiend's body. A curious finding accompanied by Bernard's eye-raising and combing over the grey streak on his side. Yet despite this ingrained confidentiality between the cat and man, Bernard remained cautiously skeptical about the whole ordeal. Bernard is wary of many things, many times was he proven right. Even the way he chatted with the feline raised his suspicions. "Oh, Indy belongs here." At first, he begins blathering as if Indy were an average animal—or as if he "possessed" her in the material— then as if he was unawares: "It's been a while since you've been home, hasn't it, Indy?" This clearly indicated that he may perhaps know more about Indy than he would like others to believe. The Dane's membrane had already deduced that it might be the possibility that Indy had been human, just as the skittering Boy over there. He would so love to reach out and swipe her away from the man, to dive deep into the neuron net of Indy. To discern who she truly is... Rather what manner of monstrosity was she! It is difficult to imagine the mould that this man fit. His aloof attitude, aberrant articulation, and his body language conflicted with each other. Creating an image of a man that seems tentative at best.

Bernard felt a hand upon his shoulder, he moved himself away to allow room for whoever to enter. Augie had arrived, Bernard had believed him to be left in the dust, but this hadn't been the case. Quickly, he trounced after the canine that scurried himself into the Inn. Sera certainly did not like that one, the Dane imagined. At which point, Bernard overheard the exchange between the Irishman and Dapper. "It doesn't matter," Shoulders shrugged, as Bernard moved passed both Aódh and Dapper, though he did furtively ran an eye over the young man. "McFaol, I'll be back in a moment. Change of clothes." The excuse was believable, Bernard did not care much to stew in his own sweat. But before that, patted Aódh on his back exactly two times by flexing his wrist. The Dane banked on Aódh's informality with him to know that it was not merely a social occurrence, but a tiny message voicing his displeasure about the whole ordeal. One for yes, two for no-that sort of deal.

Indy felt the tension in her muscles continue to melt as Dapper spoke. She was dimly aware of Augie's appearance, but her mind was focused mostly instead on the memories that crept forward as she listened to the hum of Dapper's voice against his chest. It was absurd that she had ever forgotten him but to imagine forgetting him again was now unfathomable, like discovering how to move a limb that had been paralyzed for years without her realizing. He had protected her. From bees, from scrapes, from trees that she ventured a bit too high into--he had protected her.

She had a fuzzy memory of laying on a small cot in her childhood room while Dapper's voice read out a story with childish confidence. She had been afraid of something, not monsters but something deeper--something she hadn't truly realized the extent of, but she had recognized its existence within herself. Dapper had noticed she was afraid. He had paused his story to reach for her hand and wrap her pinky finger around his own.

And he had promised. The two of them against it all; even against Beth, if need be.

But Beth had taken her away. At least, in Indy's home reality she had. And Dapper had been left to face Marasong alone.

In all her relieved ease, a pang of guilt swept up Indy's spine. She had left Dapper alone.

Her attention was pulled back to reality as her two would-be pursuers exchanged words with Dapper. She eyed the one--was he Irish? Scottish? Drunken English? Definitely something. Either way, he was also a newcomer to Marasong. And not only had he seen Silver, but another woman in the Loving Spoon? Shit, Roje.

For the first time she began to wiggle in Dapper's grasp. She wanted to stay with him, every piece of herself hated the idea of jumping back into the chaos, but she needed to find Silver and Roje. She still wasn't entirely certain exactly how long she had been gone and for all she knew they had met with Beth, which--historically speaking--was most likely a disaster.

As she tried to free herself she spared a glance to the second man who barely brushed past Dapper as he excused himself, looking distinctly displeased with either Dapper or his current company in general. She needed to talk to those two, she decided. Eventually, anyway. Once she could actually speak.

But first, she needed to find Silver and Roje.

The sense of loss that followed her egress wasn’t a foreign feeling in Silver’s heart. To reach out at the cusp of trees to just make sure that what she’d left was still there, to confirm the idea that a place like that had been shown to her and she’d been lucky enough to slip through its soothing barrier, she itched to plunge herself back in even if it hadn’t been long. Or so she thought.

She turned to face Rhevens as he spoke to her, not meeting his gaze as she fumbled with the sleeve of the sweater that had returned to its place around her shoulders. It seemed that that place also had a habit of returning people to their most desired appearance—wolf or human. Regardless, the sweater reminded her that she still hadn’t found Indy or Roje at this point and she had a feeling that both weren’t exactly where they were supposed to be. Trust your own instincts, huh? She guessed that’s what being a werewolf was all about. Knowing when something is wrong or sensing no imminent threats whatsoever, the air could tell her whether certain individuals were friend or foe rather than her having only her eyes and buzzing head to rely on for making a decision. Instincts were a sharpened sense, one she’d always had, yet didn’t use to the degree in which she could now.

Silver couldn’t help but frown a little when he asked if she was okay, knowing that by him doing so, this was more of a breezy effort for him than for her all things considered. She glanced at the seemingly innocent bit of foliage that acted as the barrier between reality, feeling the quiet hum of its presence in the back of her mind louden in confirmation when she set her eyes on it. Her frown soon turned into a quiet scoff, an amused grin slowly scrawling onto her lips at Rhevens’s little analogy. It felt as if he was trying to cheer her up. Did she look that forlorn about leaving the space? Whatever the case, she reached up and patted him on the head quietly, appreciative of him nonetheless.

“I know. Thanks, Rhevens.” A little smile peeked into her eyes as she met his gaze, gesturing soon after for him to follow as the faint trail of their stale scents caught her attention. “I have a feeling that we should head back to Marasong Inn. I guess that’s what my instincts are telling me to do.” She chided him playfully though a sense of urgency had her heart thudding a bit faster at the idea of catching Indy and Roje back at the inn. She prayed they were safe.

Out Of Words Out Of Words

The Vampire wasn't afraid. Not now. Not ever. This was the day she had enough and this was going to be the day were she will take this no longer. "That's what they call me." she said with a shrug as she eyed his movements doing her best to avoid his sloppy swings toward her. Though, not a moment later that glass was shattered against the wall and was now far dangerous than what it was before: Mainly for her brother. Justin made it very obvious on wanting the fighting to stop, but it wasn't. Not till her father was knocked out on the ground "Justin shut up! You want him to keep kicking your ass? I don't think so! He liked to beat on us, now its time he gets a taste of his own medicine! Get out of here!"

Her father lunged forward toward her and the best case scenario she could see was tripping his ass to the ground or disarming him. While she was thinner and quicker on her feet, she used her father's heavyset body to her advantage and grabbed the wrist holding the broken bottle and yanked him toward her, only for her to shift sideways and force him to basically fall and hit the ground... At least that was the plan that she started to execute.

Roje managed to pull Kevin forward, only at the last moment, she had to alter her plan slightly. See, Justin had come over to try and help, and if it wasn't for Roje's quick instincts, the broken bottle was about to make a beeline into his stomach based on the momentum between everyone.

Instead, Kevin took a bit of a stumble, Roje wrenched the hand holding the bottle to avoid Justin meeting it halfway. Somewhere more glass shattered at the same time Kevin hit the floor. Justin looked a bit paler and had flattened himself against the nearest wall, eyes locked on the growing puddle of blood underneath their stepdad.

Roje didnt appreciate her brother trying to jump into the fight and luckily she was able to disarm her father as he collapsed onto the ground with a growing puddle of red from underneath him "Not exactly how this went but I'll take it." she said as she looked back at Justin "Are you okay?" she asked, walking over and crouching down in front of him. "Hey." she patted his cheek and looked at him "Dont look at him, look at me. You're fine now. You're safe." Roje took a glance over her shoulder and then back at Justin

When Roje turned to look back at Justin, the memory had already shifted into another time, another place. Dean gave her a shove that was both playful and hard. They were training, hand to hand, and it was getting a little rough.

Dean didn't ever want to seem like he was going easy on Roje, and he also had a rather competitive nature at times. He mentally told himself it was to keep Roje on her toes and surprised. So after the shove, he went to sweep the legs.

Roje's eyes widen as she stumbled back from his shove. This was definitely an old memory resurfacing. How could she ever forget this time? Due to being caught off guard, Dean was actually able to sweep her feet out from underneath her and she fell onto the ground of the boxing ring she used to have. It wasn't the typical square ring, in fact it had caged walls and one way in and one way out. It had also been round on top of it all. She slowly got up and looked up at him "You son of a bitch. You know, I really hate when you use the same moves on me. As an ex Shadow Hunter, you may have an advantage with your wolf genes." she got up and dusted herself off as she took a good look at him "Damn your muscles are just as good as fine wine." she winked and laughed as she patted the side of his bicep and backed off "Again?"

Roje barely got out the word 'again' when Dean was already charging forward, an aggressive growl rumbling deep in his chest. His claws were out as he faked a tackle, but instead rolled to one side at the last moment. With a somersault on the ground, Dean attempted to grab Roje from behind and whip her toward the nearest wall.

Roje's eyes narrowed as she noticed his aggression. This was a training session, not a session who can see who could kick the other's butt the most. She prepared herself for the attack but he moved quickly and managed to get behind her. Whipping her head to look behind, she had to think quick on her feet as she pivoted and used her other leg to kick his side and hopefully send him tumbling.

Dean's planned attack had to change course with the kick to his side. One hand latched onto an ankle, and as he tumbled away, he pulled hard on Roje's one leg. His intention to make her lose balance very, very clear.

The vampire lost her balance as he grasped onto her ankle and she collapsed onto the ground. Letting out a grunt as she tried to kick her foot from his grasp "You're really going at it Mutt." she took her other foot and went to use that to her advantage to kick him in the face basically. However, that was her aim, but anywhere would make her happy enough.

Dean's grin was absolutely wolfish, as he took a kick to the face. Blood dripped from his nose, adding to the savage grin. The grin was meant to distract from what the rest of his body was doing. It coiled like a spring, and in seconds, the werewolf was launching himself full force at the vampire, claws extended, fangs flashing.

Roje felt a bit unsettled with what was going on. As she lifted her arm to protect herself, she felt those claws, maybe even the fangs? Who knew but all she knew was that now she was injured and now she was pissed "You mother fucker! You're really going to play this game with me Dean?!"

Dean straddled Roje, hands holding her wrists as he stared down at her. His fangs were much more pronounced as he opened his widening maw. His mouth looked like it was big enough to eat her head. "You taste so good." And then it looked like he moved to either bite her head off, or just eat her face.

Those hazel eyes widened at his words "What the fuck!?" she shouted, struggling and trying to push him away with the best of her ability. "Don't make me have to kill you, Dean!"

Leif Hjalkarssen

From the way he was acting up to his very last (or not really last) moments, it sure didn’t look like River got killed on a regular basis. Much like killing, Leif would think one got used to it, but perhaps the logic didn’t go both ways. He couldn’t tell. Or perhaps it was the method - that was kind of unconventional. Regardless, it was too late now, and changing what’d already been done would require some more time traveling, if it was even possible.

Overthinking was pointless, but the thoughts still came, doubts of whether the man was telling the truth, and whether they should have exchanged some more information on the process beforehand. Truth was, Leif hadn’t been bothered by the presence of a dead body in a very long time, but River’s blank stare sure got to him. He could start breathing any second now, or perhaps it’d be a month. The question Leif asked sure wasn’t of the simplest kind.

Yet while all those thoughts seeped into the back of his mind, they didn’t really take over. The sheer power of River’s blood was too much for anything else to steal Leif’s focus. He would never rationally say this, as it definitely wasn’t true, but as the foreign energy rushed through his body and made his own veins tingle, a sensation that it’d been worth it nevertheless hit him. That even if River never woke up again, the extraordinary energy in his blood made it all worth it, and that the man better not really be dead dead, or it’d have been a waste not to have drunk more.

That was instincts speaking, and Leif’d learned to acknowledge it and not take it too seriously. He knew what he was there for. And as he gradually adjusted to the power of River’s blood, he noticed something else, memories of the past minute he’d seemed to overlook while the animalistic thirst for blood had taken over.

Just as what happened when he drank from Chase, he saw through River’s eyes, for a few seconds. And it was unsettling. Perhaps it was Marasong, or the universe they were in, that caused that effect, so different from the usual peeking into someone’s mind the vampire was used to. Or perhaps the same sinister thing that imprisoned Chase had also gotten River now, or it always had him to begin with.

The whooshing sound of water, the blue fog and the approaching eerie figures played now on repeat in Leif’s mind, and the powerful energy now flowed faster in his veins as his heartbeat raced with growing tension. Perhaps River wasn’t lying after all. Perhaps he really could do what he said he could, but also perhaps ‘It’ got him first. And waiting became a lot harder.

Tilly gave Hatsu a grin. "Oh, I suspect he'll be by a'fore long. Needs dinner still." She wiped her hands on her apron then and eyed him more direct like. "Speakin' of..." And not a moment later, she was carrying a tray bearing Hatsu's food. The bowls made soft clinks as she set them on the table before him. "Let me know if you wan' anythin' else."

"Thanks," Hatsu said as he grabbed a spoon and started to dig in. It was nice and comforting and it soothed them from his busy day. Typically, he'd just eat in silence before thanking Tilly then leaving. He didn't want to get on her bad side, but it probably wouldn't hurt to try to get on her good side. "So, how long have you been here? In Marasong?"

Tilly didn't seem to mind the questions, but kept on cleaning and prepping for any dinner rush. "Och, a wee while. Feels like forevah some days." She gave a bit of a tittering laugh. "Several years to say the least." The sound of a timer went off in the back. "I've got to fetch that, but I can still 'ere you." She gave a half wave and disappeared around one wall to deal with whatever was in the oven at the time.

He nodded as she spoke and took a few seconds to continue eating his food. "Oh did you move here? I always thought you were from here." He asked before a buzzer went off and she went to go check the over. He sat up a bit taller trying to get a sneak peak to what she was baking.

Tilly spoke a little louder to be heard from the back. "Not from here, but feels like home all the same by now." She had pulled out a large pan of lasagna, and put some breadsticks in afterward. The lasagna was checked, then covered with foil and put into something else, not an oven, maybe a warmer? "Wot are yer plans fer rebuildin'?"

Hatsu nodded as he spooned more soup into his mouth as he watched Tily move the lasagna into what looked like a food warmer. He hadn't really had the time to consider what his plans were for rebuilding especially with everything that had been going on. "Nothing right now. I wanted to avoid building." He said as he finally finished his soup. He didn't want to build a house since it seemed so stressful but it now he didn't really have much of a choice. Unless he just plants a bunch of trees on the lot and then live at the in forever. "The entire building process just seems stressful so I've been avoiding thinking about it. If you have any ideas I'll gladly take them."

The dog stopped for a second when he picked up the sound of Augie's voice, head whipping towards the reception. He hesitated between staying put, moving on or trotting back the way he came from. But there was too much noise coming from the hotel lobby, too many footsteps, too many scents. No, he wouldn't go back there. If he did, he'd probably run into Seraphim, as he could bet she was on her way to kick him out already. Or maybe not, maybe she wouldn't want to risk getting dirty paw prints and dog hair on her shiny dress and sent someone else, like the creepy guy who'd been holding the cat. No, be wouldn't risk going back.

Looking forward though, he saw no immediate way out. Not even a cracked window his skinny frame could pass through. But as he kept going forward, he did see an open door, room 104. There were many scents coming from the room, but apparently there was just one actual person there, one person vs at least five at the front desk. Plus, she did look human, cleaning and putting stuff into garbage bags.

He hesitated again. Perhaps he should just keep going and find a way out, but what if he ended up cornered? He could end up cornered everywhere, but would a room be better than a narrow hallway?

The sound of more footsteps approaching down the hallway forced him to stop thinking and just make a move, so the dog quickly and as silently as possible scurried into the room and under the bed, hoping he wouldn't be noticed, and hoping the room contained only ordinary objects, and an ordinary human. For once.

Bill sighed and stood up. Too much to process for the day, and all that reading had tired out her eyes besides. She fed the cat, showered, washed her face, brushed her teeth, chucked her clothes on the ever-growing laundry pile. Moved the laundry pile to muffle the beetle noises.

She turned out the light and crawled into bead, staring up at the darkened ceiling. There were a few mobiles, some windchimes, charms she'd hung up for protection or divination. They clinked gently in a slow breeze.

A new day tomorrow. Treasure hunting, mystery solving, too much to comprehend.

And there were other magical beings in the town to root out. Maybe she'd try talking to Paddy again tomorrow. There was something about him that perturbed her. The sudden flash of anger in the woods, his strong grip. If she didn't know better, she'd think there was something wrong with him...

Tilly gave a bit of a chuckle, "Aye, buildin's no' much fun." She fiddled around with putting in another pan of something into the oven on another shelf, and checked a couple of big pots with lids on top of another stove. "Y'know.. back in th' day, we used ta 'ave big ol' community build parties." She had a face that showed she was thinking and maybe even planning something in her head.

She picked up a couple of freshly baked sugar cookies, and put them on a saucer. This was carried over to Hatsu and exchanged for the empty bowl of soup. "Let me get 'randa to see about the logistics o' doin' something like that again. Makes building faster, and more fun. I'll let you know tomorrow if'n it's a go." A little pat to Hatsu's shoulder, and then she was back to the kitchen, though she looked toward the doors.

"She should be comin' soon. And.. I'm sure Augie will be too." A wink and she gestured to the clock, it was nearly six! Time wasn't on super fast forward, like early, but still the day seemed to be passing by quickly.

OOC Information

Hatsu silverwhere silverwhere : The cookies are warm and gooey in that fresh from the oven kind of way. Eating them gives a bit of a mental boost, making it feel like everything will be fine in time. Could just be some secret ingredient making it taste so good it wants to wash your worries away. Could be magic. Or maybe you're seeing magic everywhere now, with your eyes newly opened.

Waiting is the Worst

River isn't moving, the body continues to stare in Leif's direction, though the eyes seem to have taken on a slightly more cloudy appearance. Regardless, what the vampire had seen in the last moments of River's life played on loop. Which let Leif pick the scene apart bit by bit. After several loops, Leif was able to slow it down, like some DVD player, he could pause, rewind, play again and more.

It had been such a brief glimpse in a rush of other images, Leif had missed it. There, before the blue fog settled in, the room was clearly part of the ranger's station, but not the one they were in. One of the figures appeared less ghostly and more of a memory remnant. It looked like the same build as Wiri, sitting behind a desk and bent over, fiddling with the bottom left drawer. He was locking it, before he stood up and received a phone call. The conversation couldn't be heard, there was no sound aside from the rushing water playing in extreme slow motion. Whatever the conversation was, Wiri wound up leaving the ranger station.

Then the blue fog came, only in closer inspection, it seemed more like water than a fog. The seemingly immobile waters found only in the deep ocean, dark, nearly completely void of any illumination. Until the blue glow flashed briefly, even when slowed down. Plankton swam by, the glow akin to the jarring flash of a strobe light. And the figures, those ghostly figures toward the end of River's vision?

They were swimming in the water, and they were only partially human.

OOC Information

Leif KodakWolf KodakWolf : You only have around ten minutes to play the scene over and over while controlling the 'player'. Then it plays once more at regular speed and is gone, save from what you can remember. By then, you realize two hours have passed while you were caught up in the strange effects of River's blood. (Feel free to use Discord and some dice rolls if you want to dissect it more thoroughly.)

Past, Present, Future?

The darkness enveloped Roje's vision as Dean 'ate' her face, but it didn't linger long. The vampire's vision suddenly snapped back into place as the black hood was pulled off her head. She was tied to a chair bolted to the floor, the bonds strong enough to withstand a vampire's strength. Two figures slowly came into focus, the male readied a syringe while the female had a smug look on her face.

"You're familiar with Virvane, yes?" It was the male who spoke, flicking fingers against the tube of the syringe, filled with a vile yellow-green looking fluid. "You're about to be, if not."

Based on their clothing, they were shadow hunters. Roje couldn't tell where they were, other than somewhere underground. It would be highly unlikely anyone would hear her screaming. The vampire already had numerous wounds from an earlier torture session. Only now, they were including Virvane as part of the curriculum.

"So, tell us. Where's Juniper?" The male stood by Roje's side, ready to inject the fluid into the side of her neck if she didn't give an answer he wanted to hear.

OOC Information

Roje Britt-21 Britt-21 : You remember the one shadow hunter, but two? Were there two? Your hair feels wet, it clings to your face and gets in your eyes, but the clothing you wear still feels dry. And did you know a Juniper back then? (Can do another Discord compilation, roll a d20 with your action either way.)
