Cafe is Lit

Max looked up with a touch of confusion, when Jay came over and talked to Marius. He started to respond, his voice on the quiet side, not something the whole cafe needed to hear, but most locals already knew. "Uh, he's not having a good day, maybe..." Max stopped short when Marius actually turned his head to look at Jay.

Then those blue eyes slowly drifted down to focus on the serpent spirit companion others couldn't see. It stayed for just long enough to tell it was a deliberate motion, before his head turned to face the window again. However, he muttered, tone raspy and filled with wistfulness. "I was the largest, you know." A finger tapped on the glass pane, "Out there. One of the largest. I could have done something then. Not now. Too late now."

Max was concerned and lay his hands over the arm the old man had rested on the tabletop. "Papa Rye. It's okay. Just.. do you want to eat something more?" He glanced quickly to Jay, "I'm sorry, please. Maybe another time." His expression was torn with emotion and worry over the older man.

Tilly kept an eye on seemingly each table, even as she helped direct Miranda on what orders to help make, or which tables still needed to give an order. Aódh's request was met with a smile and a hearty nod of the head, "Be up shortly, loverly." Every so often, Tilly laid a hand on Miranda's shoulder and squeezed, clearly helping to turn the woman's focus where it needed to go and keep Miranda from being too frazzled.

Miranda was given a small saucer of milk and she carried it to the table with Roje and Silver, and the small cat now out and on top of the table. "Oh, what a cutie!" Miranda glanced to the fox, then back to the cat and the two women. "The fox is pretty well behaved, we get a few animals in here now and then. Augie should be by with his dog, or the town mascot as he says. We haven't had any incidents, they all behave remarkably well in here." For a moment, she sounded almost puzzled, like the fact was odd, but only for a second. Then she was heading to another table where they had raised a hand to place their order.

And still the bell over the door jingle jangled, signalling more people. When one looked at the number of people in the cafe, it was a little amazing it still didn't feel crowded. There were always a couple of tables empty, no one had to brush against someone else in passing to get where they needed to go. The cafe just always had room. Even when someone as large or as broad as the man standing just inside, alongside someone considerably less bulky, but with a strong resemblance to each other.

The bulkier of the two had long, wavy brown hair, and was already tugging off his jacket to reveal a sleeveless tank top. He wore black cuffs on either wrist, and had more than a few tattoos here and there. The younger one bore the same color of hair, but tied back into a somewhat organized bug at the back of his head. Like his father, he also removed his jacket but wore a sleeveless vest instead of a tank top. Miranda gave them a wave, and gestured for them to find a seat. "Morning Dusk, Rhevens! Oh, need more cinnamon rolls! One moment!" The plates of rolls needed refilling, but Tilly already had a fresh batch out on one of the back counters for Miranda to dispense.

In all the commotion of people coming and going, it was pretty easy to miss Edwight slipping back outside. He didn't stay for food, not even a cinnamon roll. Instead, he slipped right back outside while the door was still open, avoiding a jingle jangle to signal his departure. And in moments, he was gone.

GM Note : Thropian is taking a brief hiatus, and we look forward to when he is able to join us again.

Jay xAlter xAlter : For the brief moment Marius glanced your way, the blue eyes appeared clear, but quickly seemed to lose focus before his face drifted back to the window. Max is visibly upset, and seems to wave at someone outside. Sage, the eldest of the Ryder sons, who usually keeps a close eye on their father as the man spends most of the day inside the cafe. Sage starts to put down the crate he was carrying, clearly with the intention to come into the cafe at Max's wave.

Aódh Larry Larry : And two more werewolves enter the cafe. Their scent swarms over you before they are swallowed by the food in the kitchen. One, you smelled before in this very cafe.

Bernard Worthlessplebian Worthlessplebian : And still more people are entering, their scent not nearly as interesting as the sense of their bio-electricity. It felt as if they possessed double the normal amount. What a feast either of them would be. So filling.

Roje Britt-21 Britt-21 : Two more werewolves enter the cafe, one you strongly remember the scent of. There are small differences, nuances, but your instincts -know- that scent. However, the scent, like the others, are quickly swallowed by the food cooking in the cafe.

Silver Silver- Silver- : Two more werewolves enter the cafe, one you strongly remember the scent of. There are small differences, nuances, but your instincts -know- that scent. However, the scent, like the others, are quickly swallowed by the food cooking in the cafe.

Indy Rhyme Rhyme : When Miranda mentioned the name Augie, you have that tingle of remembrance again. You could almost smell his scent from memory, if it wasn't for the additional people making their way into the cafe. And oh, hey. Milk.

Fetch!

Augie laughed with the enthusiasm Boy displayed for a simple game of fetch. He tossed the stick, first time didn't go very far. Augie had kept it close out of habit, but the next throw was a little farther ahead, and then a little farther still. He had to still adapt to Boy being able to see, but this was a good fun game, and it helped.

It did make the trek to the cafe a bit longer, and Augie just knew it was going to be busy. It was fairly busy the later the morning went on. "We'll just get our food to go. Probably our usual, with extra crispy bacon, eh?" He grinned big as he tossed the stick as far as he could throw it. It was enjoyable, watching Boy race after it, and come trotting back without bumping into any trees or tripping over any rocks.

"Good, Boy. Real good." Augie knelt down and gave the dog a lot of good pets. They could take their time. Tilly's wasn't going anywhere. Augie moved toward a more open area just before the eastern woods, all the better to play fetch. "Ready, Boy?"

OOC Information

Riley KodakWolf KodakWolf : Augie lets go of the confusion and starts to just enjoy being able to fully play fetch with you. You're in an open field just before it turns to the woods. It's up away from the shoreline, with tall grass here and there. Augie manages several long throws of the stick, and one that takes you close to the edge where the field area starts to dip back down toward the shore, the way you came. It's there you think you spot a pair of black horns briefly in the white foam of the waves.

Follow That Booty!

The figure was nearly at the end of the docks, on the Eastern side. When Leif weaved through the activity on the docks to the spot where he saw a familiar figure, a look showed him to be at the Imported Booty store. It was heavily pirate themed, The front window had a pirate with a treasure chest, and the word 'Imported' in a half arc with the arch at the top, just above the pirates head. 'Booty' was in a half arc curved to the side, framing the pirate's posterior assets. The beats of Alestorm could be heard thrumming from inside.

One wouldn't really be able to see past the window display, with the mostly sheer curtain separating the window area from the rest of the store. It was meant to tease at greater treasure inside, without giving away the goods, making customers actually want to enter to see it all. As Leif entered, instead of a bell ringing above the door, a jingle of 'Yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me' rang out. The figure that gave the vampire such a heavy deja vu was currently behind the counter, back toward the door.

The figure turned at the jingle, putting on his best pirate voice. "Arrrrrrrrr, me matey! Ye come to th' right place if'n ye be lookin' fer some booty." The man was around six feet, with a short beard and his brown hair cut short on top, shaved on the sides. He had crinkles around his eyes, wrinkles along his forehead, and an infectious grin that was ear to ear. And it was a grin Leif knew very well from another time, another place.

"I be Bug, and I be grrrand! How be ye?"

Out Of Words Out Of Words Silver- Silver- Rhyme Rhyme

Roje kept eye contact with the wolf across from her as she tried to give words of comfort. "I've learned that when a place is too safe, it comes with something else..." she responded as Indy herself jumped out of the jacket and was now atop the table. Guess it was fine seeing as no one else called them out on having an animal on the table. "There's too many smells going on, between the food and them." she reached her hand out and gently started to pet her sister -as weird as that sounded- and feel that soft fur underneath her hand. Miranda also stopped by with a dish for Indy to lick the milk from, which was lucky for her. Food first. "Well that's good that they do behave. Less chaos." playing lies was annoying, but the girl quickly walked off without question to serve others within the restaurant. Roje then continued the conversation "Both of you don't know my past. But I've been through a lot of shit. Im suspicious of anything good, safe, or anything to that degree. Being in the dark in terms of information makes me even more suspicious, as well as on guard. I called a friend earlier, he could give us answers, hopefully." her gaze shifted to her sister who looked over at her "Guess your big sister will have to tell you stories whenever we're bored." she teased before hearing the bells jingle once again to the front door.

Then it hit her. That familiar scent that she couldn't ever forget. The eye contact she had with Indy was broken as she looked at something at the table. The scent was quickly drowned out, but the waitress calling out to them made her heart drop down to her stomach in an instant. The look on her face was mixed, but she tried very hard not to turn toward the door, knowing damn well she was going to feel that feeling she felt not too long ago back in Skyrim days. Don't you dare look. Don't look. I know you want to, but if you look, who knows what will come rushing back. she thought to herself. His scent kept coming through the food, but vanishing as quick as it came. Both her hands were rested on the table and they clenched into light fists "Silv. I know that smell." she locked eyes with the wolf again "Those names." Silver had a better look at what was behind the Vampire more than anyone. Which meant she had a clear view of the two. Adrenaline was running through her veins, making it hard to keep herself composed.

Fucking Dusk. All it took was one night. You're like a damn drug. You son of a bitch. Was it fear? Was it Excitement? Roje couldn't pin point the source of her adrenaline running high and wish she could. She broke the contact and her head turned a little, but her resistance remained strong. The moment I turn around, it's game over. All she could think of was those large arms, that long hair, fuck even that beard he had. He could pull all of it off and look brighter than the damn sun. "I'm really gonna regret this..." she turned around just a little more, catching sight of that beast of a man and instantly feeling her heart twist and squeeze. He looked the same, even had his son with him. Two timelines where he had a son...Did he actually have a son back in the original timeline? This was another question that arose in her mind. If he were to catch her looking, she'd offer a very slight smile, but her gaze held a different tone before she were to turn back to Silver and Indy "I have a bad feeling about this."

There you are, Aódh thought to himself, his eyes plastered on the cat as its head popped up from beneath the taller woman's shirt, whilst herself and the other girl, the werewolf, nestled themselves into a table at the other side of the café. Service wasn't long forthcoming, with Miranda, perhaps on Tilly's orders, bringing a saucer of milk over to the creature, who then greedily lapped at the liquid. The youth smirked at the sight, before turning away his gaze from the trio, whose scents were gradually melding into the overarching smell of food that settled around the establishment. Turning back to Bernard, Aódh recalled what he said a few moments prior, about wishing to visit what remained of Hatsu's house, only so recently purchased as well. From a curious point of view, he could understand why Bernard would want to see the now-banjaxed building; who wouldn't, after the rightful commotion that it had caused the day before? On the other hand, what was there left to see? The charred vestiges of a house that might have held future memories? Aódh, if he were a bit more bold and lacking in tact, might have told the man to think of a burnt-down house in his head, but the thought flied him. What also happened to pique the young man's interest was the fact that Bernard wasn't too keen on their discussion being held within earshot of other people. Whatever such reticence to speak around others implied, Aódh didn't wish to pry despite his curiosity, for fear that he would get defensive, so he thusly nodding his head in approval at the man's suggestion.

Then, for a brief moment, the ménagerie of smells that had settled over everyone in the café was breached by the entrance of two men. One of them, without even having to look over his shoulder, was the young man from the night before, Rhevens. Compared to the state of agitation that he had put Aódh in yesterday, the latter was in a state of unworldly calm. But the sheer sensory presence that himself, and the older man beside him, possessed, was confounding. It couldn't be helped on his part, to view this as another addition to the supranatural melting pot that the Loving Spoon was becoming. Bernard, the two women with the cat who didn't smell exactly like a typical cat would, the two wolfmen...Aódh reasoned that the sooner Tilly had the breakfast laid out in front of him, the better.

"Turning aside from investigating Hatsu's house for a moment," he said, trying to steer his focus away from the two men, "What do you do? Or what do you work as? I'm a student myself, thought I'd give myself a bit of a holiday to clear my head after the exams, to see where I want to go with life in the hereafter."

He was about to speak, when, as if only focusing on the Dane's face for the first time, he realised, in pure stupefaction, the splattering of splotches and the bandage adhered to Bernard's nose.

"It's amazing what ya miss out on when you're hungry, hahaha..." Aódh said, a dry laugh croaking out from the youth, "It seems I wasn't the only acting the maggot last night. What were you up to?"

Mood: Boastful but wary;

The Dane had followed the Irishman's eyes on the matter. The ball of bioelectricity that had rummaged around in that lady's abdomen had decided to reveal itself. A feline, one that like Boy seemed to be extraordinarily responsive and keenly aware of its' surroundings. It seemed as though on two separate occasions, I encountered animals with distinctly unique values of bio-current. Whether these animals are connected in anyway is not clear, but... Their natures... Or concepts are undoubtedly linked. His thin hand encircled his cinnamon roll and lifted to take a bite as he grew deeper in thought regarding these unusual creatures. He continued to observe the two women, but only passive. His gaze intentionally embodied a sort of lackadaisical aspect as it meandered over from table to table, even briefly catching glimpse of Jay with the Father & Son. But something had immediately taken Bernard's attention again. Specifically, it was Miranda who carried over a puny saucer with milk to quench the cat's thirst. But it was not the act of providing sustenance but, rather the near-flummoxed tone with which she spoke. He doubt many would pick up on it, even he himself almost missed it but replaying the sentence in his head, it was unmistakable. Another clue to the puzzle.

A sense of unease reared its' ugly head in Bernard's mind. Could this place too be bewitched of some unorthodox hex? Or was it an intentional doing? Bernard could not say, he was not a specialist in this regard. But maybe... Hatsu and that woman with him. He'd have to pay them a visit next though still unsure, Bernard believed that they had at least something for him to learn. Then the bell struck and in came to shining beacons of electricity. Without even turning his head, Bernard could clearly imagine them. Two males, one heavier than the other. Turning around told him his senses were right. These two could provide him with the necessary food to survive for weeks in Marasong if he could incapacitate them. The nails of his left hand bit into the table, scraping into a fist. Bernard's rational mind calmed the starving beast within, there is no time to feast here. But his senses, still laid out as they were, detected a surge in another person. The woman's adrenaline had spiked. The one who carried the cat until two, curious. They may have history. Even Aódh seemed to be caught out at their introduction.

Observations (and hunger) aside, Bernard turned to sip his coffee. Praying that it at least distracted him from his shocking need. The prayer was answered in another form, when Aódh spoke up and caught Bernard's attention. His queries caused Bernard to smile even though his face is still remotely scarred and patched up from the night's incident. "Ah, well." Bernard said before coughing to clear his throat. "I hadn't mentioned my occupation the last time, but I am a physicist specialising in the field of electromagnetism, an electromagnetician. I earned my doctorate in physics from Københavns Universitet—erm, University of Copehagen. I participate or lead studies in private laboratories, both funded by the government and or corporate benefactors. I also give lectures, symposiums and such at the aforementioned University. I'm mostly here on a research venture, because a colleague pointed me to anomalous occurrences." The colour of his voice was fairly high, quite pleased with being able to finally breathe his achievements to another lad. "As for my face... Well, let us say that the sister field of acoustics was responsible. But there's no cow on the ice so it's fine." Cryptic AND a Danish saying to boot.

Nodding solemnly to Max’s response, Jay really didn’t expect anything when Marius turned and began to once more stare. The two never made eye contact, the older man’s gaze firmly finding the gaze of his serpentine, spirit companion. A chill ran down Jay’s spine, and Jay began to feel warmer under his sweatshirt. An oppressive feeling of unease surrounded him, but the feeling soon disappeared once Marius turned to look back outside.

”I was the largest, you know.”

At that, Jay stilled and held his breath. Answers, questions, assumptions, and new mysteries. All assortment of thoughts ran wild through Jay’s head, his heartbeat rising. A semblance of a starting point; that thing out in the waters of Marasong finally had a form. He final;y had an inkling of what it was that night. Only with Max’s apology did he breathe once more. Wordlessly, Jay nodded, and turned back to his spot by Aodh and Bernard. Later, he decided. Before the sun fell behind the horizon, Jay would head back to the docks.

A ringing in his ears was the only sound Jay could hear as he made his way back to his seat. “It’s…” he muttered to himself as he walked. “It’s…” Yeung wrapped himself around Jay’s arm assuredly. “Kin… or enemy…” the serpent hissed. “We will find out… together.”

Yun, however, was having a grand ole time observing everything and everyone in the Loving Spoon from her perch on Jay’s seat. Locking eyes with the not-cat cat, Yun let a feeling of victory wash over her. Smugness exuded from the vixen as she boasted her small victory over Indy. “Yes, you furball. I can sit on this nice cushioned chair, but you… you were restricted to being curled up within a sweater. How pitiful.” Laughing to herself, the only indication of the laughing fox would be the slight rumbling of her form.

Arriving at his sea, Jay picked up Yun, the fox offering no resistance, as he once more claimed his seat. He placed both elbows on the counter, his head in his hands. Feeling a reassuring flick of a furry friend on his lap, Jay swallowed his unease, and once more took stock of the café. Dusk and Rhevens had entered… and the new people still had that look of loss and confusion on their face.

“Sorry about that.” Jay said to both Bernard and Aodh, trying to regain a sense of self. “Had some unfinished business to take care of. And you’re a student, Aodh, and you’re a professor at a university? Damn. I really feel out of my league! College dropout, that’s me.”

When a place is too safe, it comes with something else. Silver could only sit back a bit to watch Indy with a bit of extra focus in an attempt to distract herself from the stares that burned in their direction. Indy’s appearance had earned a few curious looks and a saucer of milk to which she’d likely be happy about, but Silver knew if she met any of the stares, even if they were friendly, she’d glower at them with a darkened expression. Roje’s words emphasized her own normal state of being, her perspective normally distrustful even with around those that had managed to earn it. There was always a chance of something happening and while she didn’t always actively stay on the lookout for them, if something did occur she’d be damned if she was caught in some sort of fray without putting in a good punch.

Her peripherals told her that the source of the curious looks had begun to pay attention to their party of three again, including that random fox that was perched onto one of the seats and seemingly rumbling. For whatever reason, her mind instantly tried to piece together words, as if something was being said but she was straining to hear it. She could hear everyone’s voices loud and clear, a sweeping glance denoting vocalized conversation, yet when she landed on the fox and really looked at it for more than a heartbeat, it seemed.. sentient. It’s mouth didn’t open yet it’s eyes narrowed, pointedly staring at Indy with a sneer. Silver almost wanted to hide Indy as a result, a growl threatening to start in her throat as she tore her focus back onto Roje.

“I hope your friend isn’t coming here. This place would probably bust at the seams if more people showed up.” As if on cue, a jingling noise had Silver concealing a sudden flinch, her shoulders jerking in surprise at how someone’s entrance so loudly assaulted her bad ear. She’d nearly forgotten about the fact that Beth had essentially screamed at her into submission. Wait, wasn’t Beth supposed to be here? The woman never seemed to be the type of person to show up late to something she’d gone ahead and planned for, so what exactly was her part in all of this? If this was one big trap, they were dead for sure.

The multitude of people paired with the supernatural energy that was humming off everyone had Silver’s legs bouncing impatiently, a longing to go back outside for air or something immediately being snuffed out by not wanting to leave Roje and Indy by themselves as well as the sheer idea of weaving through the two men standing in front of the door was.. anxiety-strickening. Except.. they looked familiar. Roje’s reaction to their presence only confirmed it, her emotions running as rampant as her heartbeat. “Me too.” She breathed, attempting to take in Rhevens’s scent only to get a mouthful of several of them melding together with strong food smells. Hunger gnawed at the pit of her stomach, but more so than that was apprehension at seeing another Rhevens appear in this place. How many coincidences and alternate versions was she going to meet?

Silver was going to protest that Roje look behind herself, but the idea was swiftly discarded when the vampire did so anyway. Roje practically radiated a cesspool of heavy emotions, one that Silver had to mentally make an attempt to lower the volume of since her history with Dusk was so heavy and yet his mirror images continued to return like ghosts of the past. It was obvious that the large, bearded man meant something to the vampire, likely more than words could describe, Rhevens’s re-appearances though drew her further and further from the original skin walker she’d met. There were the same yet not completely so, each having their own sets of skills that the next did not. She didn’t want to forget the real Rhevens though and with every switch, she drew further away.

“Speaking of bad feelings — Isn’t Beth supposed to be here by now?” Silver caught herself staring at the wolves in the threshold of the restaurant, snapping her gaze to Indy to hide her mistake. “A lady like her doesn’t seem to be the type to come late to her own party.”

As they walked past the Loving Spoon, Bill couldn't help but notice how crowded it was.

"Whole damn town going tae breakfast," she muttered to Hatsu, and sniffed a little.

She wasn't hungr,y and still had half a tumbler of sweet, milky coffee, but maybe there was something going on in there. The town was full of strange people, and the last few days had been full of strange events. It might be worth just heading in, asking around, seeing if anyone else had noticed anything odd in the last few days. Hey, maybe one of them was a beetle expert. Or something.

Bill unscrewed the top of her travel mug and poured out the rest of her lukewarm coffee. "I'll just pop in for a wee bit. Five minutes, make sure there's nothing..." she waved her hand vaguely, unsure of exactly what it was she was checking. "Don't go tae the map fella without me, aye? This shouldn't take too long. Oh, d'you want anything? I'll just get a bit more coffee for m'self."

She took a deep breath and walked through the door, focusing on not tripping over herself into anyone, focusing on not snapping at the crowd around her. She made her way to the counter and tried to make plesant small talk, doing her best not to look around the cafe too pointedly.

Paddy was here. Of course he was. It was a small town. She held her tongue against the hex that still wanted to crawl up and out of her throat every time she saw him. She gave him a thin smile and a short wave instead.

"Crowded this morning, aye?" she said to the one behind the counter, holding out her tumbler. "Just a bit o' the filter coffee, if you don't mind."

For as many years as Indy spent her life as a cat, she was not particularly suited to the house cat life. Something about the platters of milk and repeated exclamations of how cute she was--it irked her, even as she shamelessly dipped her head to take a sip from the platter Miranda slid in front of her.

And that damn smug fox, it leered at her from its prim perch. Indy could have almost sworn it was laughing at her, looking down the tip of its red snout as its body rumbled slightly. Indy's own fur puffed in response, her tail snapping back and forth as she sniffed. An arrogant fox. To think we get the vain asshole stereotype when cheeky pricks like that are strutting around.

Either way, that was definitely not a normal fox. She already knew something was wrong with Marasong; if she hadn't known better, if they hadn't been warned, Indy would almost have thought that this Marasong was actually a haven for non-humans--but it wasn't. They had been told as much, so why were there so many non-humans here? Why was Beth so lackadaisical about Indy and Roje's 'situations' if Marasong this contradictory mess of crowded non-humans and outright prejudice against their kind?

Roje's mention of a friend caught her attention. Who had she contacted? Who did she know in this world that they could trust beyond their small ragtag group? There was no time to pry, already their attention was pulled away by more visitors. Perfect timing, Silver.

Roje and Silver both seemed to recognize them, the mystified expressions on both their faces deeply recognizable to Indy. She had felt the same at the mention of Augie's name, that deep understanding that she knew him--even if she wasn't entirely sure how. It was becoming abundantly clear that each of them had these strange counterparts--she would have to ask Silver and Roje if they also weren't entirely sure how they knew them, or if they had somehow managed to cling to those memories.

Maybe it was a bad idea to catch their attention, Indy could tell Silver was fighting her own anxiety as Roje shamelessly turned to stare at the two newcomers.

Then Silver spoke again and Indy realized she was right, Beth wasn't there yet. The thought sent Indy's fur sticking straight, her tail puffed as she tried to decide whether this was a symptom of her newly flighty mother or an indication of something much darker. Their seating arrangement had seemed smart at first, though at that moment all Indy could think about was how far from the door they were--how many people stood between them and a quick escape.

If she isn't here soon, I'll go find her. It's starting to feel like everyone is getting lured here; I don't like it.

That small edge of paranoia was creeping back into her mind, memories of dank cells and a shower room paneled in white tiles creeping back to the front of her thoughts. She knew that would be worse, letting those memories guide her--but was paranoia truly a bad thing here? Was it so terrible to be alert?

Riley Adler / Boy

The dog's enthusiasm playing fetch never seemed to wane. No matter where the branch landed, he'd sprint as fast as he could to get it then bring it back to Augie in record time. He even wasn't doing the hopping on three legs kind of thing he usually did whenever he picked up speed, as if not only his eyes had healed.

It was a fun game, and a fun way to celebrate being able to see. And it also apparently got Augie's mind to unwind as well, and Boy almost forgot he'd be facing Tilly in no time.

The game went on and on, and sometimes he'd bring the branch straight back to Augie, sometimes he'd tease and run away whenever Augie attempted to get close and retreieve it. But he always let Augie eventually have it, because he had to chase it again of course.

It was when the branch landed even further than before, close to the shoreline where they came from, that something clearly changed. As the dog slowed to a trot to grab it, he froze, ears pricked forward and eyes glued to the waters, for a few seconds. A few seconds, after which he'd let out a couple of barks, barks Augie would immediately recognize. Then he'd turn around in record speed and bolt back towards Augie, tail tucked low as let out a couple of high pitched barks still, while the branch lay forgotten on the grass.

Leif Hjalkarssen

As he weaved through the people in his way, Leif knew who he was chasing. Somehow the name wouldn't come to his mind, nor any specific memories or details about the figure, but he knew who it was, and that was enough for now. That was enough to keep his mind set on the simple task of catching up to them. He'd figure out the details later.

And before he knew it, Leif was standing before the heavily themed storefront, so heavily themed it was probably the decorations and the soundtrack that snapped him out of the half trance he was in. He hadn't given the name 'Imported Booty' much thought with everything else that had been going on lately, but suddenly it all made some sort of sense, and he even almost chuckled as he took in all the information on display. He stared at it all for a good minute or so, and after that he wasn't sure whether he was more or less confused at everything. But his focus was back on catching up to the man he just saw walking in, and with a light shake of his head he pushed the door open and headed inside.

The inside of the store delivered what the display windows promised, but this time Leif paid no mind to all the decorations and themed merchandise. As soon as he'd stepped inside, his eyes had instantly found the one person his mind was now fixated on, and he stared a bit dumbfounded as the man greeted him with the weirdest accent he'd heard in a long time. The longer he stared, the more the man seemed to fit right into the surroundings. Because of course, no one else could own a store like that. No one else but Bug!

And slowly, some of the memories he'd temporarily forgotten started coming back. First, some of the barbecue memories, because the Bug Leif was staring at could very well be that same Bug. But then, other memories flooded in, memories of another time, of a different Bug. And they did nothing but make it even harder for Leif to finally focus on the present and answer the man standing right before him.

"Bahg...? B...Bug?" He mumbled after a while, but soon managed to get partially rid of the confused expression on his face as he fished in his pocket for the broken phone.

"I don't know... still trying to figure it out I guess." He spoke quietly, then finally added as he managed to pull out the device. "Do you fix phones?" He looked up at the man as he placed the phone on the counter.

A Spoonful

Dusk and Rhevens seemed a little surprised by the number of people in the cafe, but only a little. It had been crowded before, and likely would be again. Dusk rumbled deep in his chest as he greeted Tilly and Miranda. "Mornin'." He had a slow, deep drawl that vibrated as much as the rumble could. There seemed to still be plenty of tables, so they moved to slide into the table behind the two women with a cat. Dusk had given a nod of his head and an easy grin any time he caught someone's eyes, stranger or not.

As Dusk slid into a spot behind Roje, Rhevens couldn't help but notice the cat and had to pause by their table. "Oh hey. Hi, cute cat!" Especially when the thing was all puffball. He chuckled and grinned at both Roje and then Silver before taking his spot opposite Dusk, leaving him facing toward Silver.

By then, Sage had entered the cafe from where he had been working on the docks. His large frame rivaled that of Dusk's, but he wasn't venturing too far into the place. He stopped by Max and Marius, trying to keep his deep voice from filling the place. "What's wrong?" Max had signaled for him to come in, he was clearly protective of Marius. Sage moved to stand protectively near the older man even as one hand rested lightly on Marius's shoulder. "Pops?"

Max shook his head and leaned forward, also keeping his voice on the down low. "I don't know. He started like.. talking, but about some of his uh.." Eyes darted around before they returned to meet Sage's gaze, widening slightly in some unspoken signal. "Tall tales." However, the only response Sage had was a low rumble and light pat to Marius' shoulder.

Both Tilly and Miranda were nearly constantly on the move. From taking orders, making the food in record time, and placing orders in front of people, they were busy. However, it never seemed to make their smile any less, and Tilly always took the time to greet each customer as they came in the door, either with a wave if they were looking her way, or by name. And the food was just as always delicious. Most customers had their food in ten minutes from the time they placed the order.

And it wasn't much longer behind Sage when Bill came into the cafe, but Hatsu remained outside. Miranda was the one to greet her and take her tumbler. "Sure, one moment." She took it to a counter on the side and poured some of their fresh coffee into the thing. Moments later, it was being held back out, "No charge. Coffee's always on the house." She couldn't linger long however, as someone's order was ready to be taken to the table.

The jingle of the door signaled more people, and Augie's "Oh, wow." It was a lot of people, and still it didn't feel crowded, still there were at least two tables available. He and Boy had finished playing their fetch game, until something in the water interrupted their fun. One hand had remained at his side, brushing and petting the dog beside him ever since. "C'mon Boy, we'll wait out of the way over here." There was a small table just out of the way of the door, but along the side wall, not the front windows.

Tilly had noticed and her booming voice could always be heard through the cafe. "Augie! Let me bag up yer usual. Gimme two shakes o' a wee lamb's tail." Augie gave a wave of a hand to signal he heard, and then kept petting the dog to be sure Boy wasn't getting more stressed out from the throng of people inside. Occasionally, he still make little clicking noises as he worked on reassuring the town mascot.

GM Note : After you've been in the cafe for ten minutes, you will only smell the food. It's calming, but in a different way than the melodies that would play in the back of the mind. Which, when you think about it, is not present at the moment. In fact, you haven't heard them since entering the cafe. Additionally, any food order you've placed arrives within ten minutes.

Aódh & Bernard & Jay Larry Larry Worthlessplebian Worthlessplebian xAlter xAlter : When you start conversion, the noise of the others fades away slightly, letting you talk without having to shout to be heard.

Roje & Silver Britt-21 Britt-21 Silver- Silver- : When Dusk rumbles, Roje can feel it through the back of the booth seat. And Rhevens seems to be trying to figure out where he's seen you before, one of those deja vu kind of expressions each time he looks up and over.

Indy Rhyme Rhyme : Yup, there's Augie. Tilly's already unfolding a bag with handles to stick their food orders in.

Bill BillieRoss BillieRoss : There's a smorgasbord here of magic, but no other witches you can sense.

Boy KodakWolf KodakWolf : Whoa. It's full of people, but still seems to have space. Lots of smells as well, including a cat! On a table! A cat having a bit of a stare off puff contest with the fox. So many things to see, including a little glance and wink from Tilly as she packs the bag of food.

Hatsu silverwhere silverwhere : Outside, the space in the cafe seems small with all the people inside. It's hard to figure out how easily Bill moves through to get to the counter for coffee. Along the docks, it's the usual activity, nothing much stands out. Though you're pretty sure someone just quickly ducked around the corner in the middle of the shops, where there is a path that leads to the middle of the town from the docks.

"Do I fix phones?" Bug's voice lost the pirate accent, one hand moving to press against his chest with the 'I'. "Oh, I fix everything you can think of. Well, if I can't, I likely know someone who can. What kind of phone? What did you do? Did you drop it?" He leaned his arms on the counter, and framed his face with his hands. Bug's expression was all invested now. And he still asked more questions in a typical Bug fashion.

"What are you trying to figure out?" Small head tilt to the side, and then he leaned even closer, hands falling away from his face. "Oh! OH!" His voice dropped lower, and he glanced around before back to Leif. "Did you steal it? Are you trying to be all naughty naughty and get into someone else's phone?"

Bug liked controversy and gossip, and everything else. "Here, let me see." One hand reached out, fingers making the grabby gimme gimme motions.

"Oh, a professor you say?" Aódh remarked, almost in shock to see such a person in the flesh, and not on the radio or television. The young man wasn't too fond of physics, if his time in science class during the Junior Cert was any indication; he much preferred biology, particularly in the way that life seemed to straddle, ever so precipitously, the more severe of the laws of physics. Yet, as Bernard conveyed the particulars of his role at the University of Copenhagen, the last tidbit of information caught Aódh's attention quite firmly. Anomalous occurrences...the latter thought, tapping his index finger against the side of his head. The Irishman already knew from the day previous that there was more-than-something amiss about the town, but to think that it was so experientially strange that a physicist, of all people, was given word of its oddness, says a great deal. Aódh reasoned, then, as a follow-up, that the Dane was going to engage in some preliminary investigation of Marasong, when he asked at the counter back in the inn. Abrupt bouts of anger, sudden descent into crying, disturbingly evocative dreams of traumatic past events: these were more than enough to scope out the town's intricacies, in Aódh's estimation.

"Well, as soon as the food gets here, and I have it down me, we can head off then," he said, smiling, "I'm curious to see what you'll find out."

It was at this point that Jay, who had popped over to Marius and the young man, returned, subsequently lifting the quiescent Yun up off the chair, only to place her on his lap. Noting this, Aódh glanced a quick glance back over to the old man, who now, alongside the young man, had Sage for company. It was only for a brief moment, after the fire had been quenched, did he meet Sage, Wiri introducing the two of them to each other. Thinking of the ranger cast his mind to yesterday, with the Loving Spoon being the last time he had seen him properly. The youth hoped he was doing well, especially given the state that Bill was in at the time when they both left for her house to deal with some issue there. Aódh turned back around to face the two men, the ringing of the bell seeming to announce a never-ending procession of people entering the establishment, or so it felt to him at least.

It was only when he was about to respond to Jay, intrigued as to what he had studied in college before dropping out, that he noticed Bill's form standing at the counter, a smile and a wave being offered in receipt for his noticing of her. Even though he knew he wasn't in his right mind when that burst of rage flowed over him, inveigling him to be far too rough with her, he still couldn't completely shed the guilt of what happened, made quite prominent in the flimsy wave that he tried to gesture in response. An irritated flush crept across his face, mockingly, as he turned aside again. Why do I keep running into her? he questioned introspectively, once again tapping his finger against his head, this time quite furiously, before turning to Jay, almost as a measure in obtaining some solace.

"So...uh, wha-what did you do in college, before you...um...dropped out?"

His breathing hadn't quite returned to normal, a faint sheen of sweat from anxiety still played at the edge of his hair. The conversation with Marius still on his mind when he placed Yun back into his lap, his hand caressing the fox’s soft fur for comfort. Sensing his discomfort, Yun stood on her hind legs, and booped Jay’s nose with her own as the conversation between Aodh and Bernard continued. Taking a deep breath, Jay went to open his mouth, only to notice Aodh’s gaze elsewhere.

He followed it to the face of Bill, but he just took a glance. Nothing of note, except for the rage that seemed to take over his face for a quick second. A hand reached up and took off his glasses, as he took a microfiber cloth from his pocket. He circled the lenses, a forlorn look of thought on his face. Maybe he could convince Aodh and, or Bernard to accompany him to the docks later? Maybe take a ride out and see what Marius meant? Considerations were all that they were.

Hearing Aodh question him, his tone a touch shakier than his own, was enough to break him from his stupor. Placing his glasses back on, Jay adjusted the nose pads to a more comfortable position. “Oh, uh, I was going to study marine biology,” he revealed. “I used to love aquariums and going to the local ponds and streams. Nature has always been something I’ve enjoyed… more so if it concerned water.” Placing his hands folded atop Yun’s back, he continued on.

“I attended the Korea Maritime & Ocean University for a couple months before dropping out… College life just wasn’t for me I guess. I struggled in classes and didn't have much of a social life. That probably contributed as well.” Continuing to ramble on, Jay found himself lost in the moment, his world narrowing down to those currently at the counter.
“I decided to dropout and find myself. I was going to take a trip around the world, clear my head and find myself, maybe go back to school. It didn't happen, if you could guess! I came to Marasong about two years ago on a tour… something must’ve clicked because I stayed." Shaking his head, Jay turned to Aodh. "How about you? Where do you study?"

The Danish Professor's calculated remark of strange events had potentially born fruit. It was his intention to perhaps draw in the Irishman's curiosity with a dazzling of the truth. Cocking an eyebrow, Bernard drank the last half of his coffee while observing Aódh's bodily language, more specifically facial cues. This may have been the break that the wary physicist needed as though he mentioned that he planned to extend his residence in Marasong, he knew that he could not continue on forever. Plus the addition of another pair of eyes would do wonderous to aid this hastily enacted research. Looking back, his entire mistake these two weeks was the aimlessness of his research. He knows better than this, he should have been more proactive in the search of paranormal phenomena. Though his brow furrow momentarily, because he knew that it will come a time to which he'll have to confront the Irishman about his own preternatural nature as a power hungry, creature of the night. A nosferatu who feeds on the succulent juices that flowed through an individual's nervous system. The impulse which gives their muscles life, their hearts even. Though Bernard also suspects that this young man, vacationing from his academic education, is an all-together different beast. Yes, beast. That word fits.

"Consume as you wish, my friend." Bernard commented, gently swiping his hand as if he expected to produce a feast from the flick. "Hunger's a terrible feeling."

Jae-eun had returned from his foray with the old man and his son. Odd, though they all seemed upset but Bernard will choose not to interfere as he already has his hands in enough cakes. But that fox of his Jay's displayed an act of affection and worry when the fox met Jay's nose with its' own. For a fox, it is certainly well-behaved. For a species of hyperactive, yipping creatures related to dogs.

He followed their gaze which lead to that thick-accented woman again, they may have arrived together with Hatsu from the Inn. Another mental note was added, when given the chance converse with the two. It will rest neatly underneath the one about Kai and how Bernard will deal with him.

Bernard listened to the Jay's brief life story. Interesting. As the question was directed to McFaol, Bernard decided to send another question. "How's life been treating you here? I'd say two years is more than enough time for your opinions to settle on this place."

Hatsu leaned against the wall of the cafe and took out his phone to tapped on and off the power while he waited for Bill outside the Loving Spoon. It was another day in Marasong and nothing was different. People went about their daily lives and worked on the docks. Nothing was out of the ordinary but it felt different. Hatsu knew that there was a mystery to the town and it wasn't hard to try to pick up on all the little details, case in point, the Loving Spoon seemed to be off sized.

Hatsu had told himself that he was going to try to be more social but he was glad to wait outside the Loving Spoon. The cafe was busier than normal but that wasn't unreasonable. The Inn gave out free meal vouchers and it was one of the only places to eat in the town. It was a prime time for breakfast and with the sudden influx of people, it was only natural for the Loving Spoon to be busier. What didn't make sense was how Bill was able to navigate through the cafe with ease. The Loving Spoon was small and from the outside it looked like it would be hard to move through, but she made her way to the counter like a hot knife through butter. The cafe had just enough space for everyone and no one bumped elbows. And as more people entered the cafe it never felt like it got cramped.

They were little details that he most likely blew out of proportion. Maybe the interior and exterior design that gave the Loving Spoon a false illusion of it being small but maybe it was also magic. Who knows? He put a paused to his tapping and sighed as he looked at the docks. The Imported Booty was hard to miss but something caught his eye. Hatsu couldn't help but pulled himself away from the cafe to get a better look at who just ducked around a corner in the middle of the shops. That wasn't typically something that happened, but he wasn't sure if it wasn't normal. There was a good chance that it was someone going about their daily life, but maybe it wasn't a bad idea to go that way to check.

Indy froze as more new people entered the cafe, her paw poised over one ear mid-lick. There. That earthy scent, the voice--it was him. The man she remembered, even if she wasn't entirely sure about the details. Judging only by the expressions on Roje and Silver's faces as well, they similarly recognized two of the newcomers as well.

Fuck it, she decided. Screw the crazy Stepford Beth clone; these people were leads. They were the only ones she could remember aside from those she had arrived with and that had to mean something; even just the tiniest clue. Maybe it was the coven back on their illusion-bullshit, maybe this was another gap in reality; she wouldn't know for sure if she kept herself locked up in the hotel room. Sitting tight and waiting for a car to get themselves out of Marasong was no longer an option; if Marasong had become this insane, then who knew what waited for them outside the town.

And maybe a piece of her wanted to explore this place. To walk down the paths she had wandered as a kid, to almost pretend what it could have been like if she had just stayed. If she had been normal. Even if the people weren't the same, it was the same sidewalks, the same crappy little stores selling seashell ashtrays and puka necklaces--she wanted to see it. Just this once, one more time.

And besides, there was something incredibly suspicious about the dog sitting beside Augie.

Indy looked at Silver, tapping her paw against her glass to catch her attention. I'll be back to the room later, going to try and figure out what the hell is going on. Stay safe and don't eat Beth, or let Roje eat her. Or drink her. Any sort of human consumption in general, honestly; just a bad idea.

And she lept from the table, throwing a sideways glance at the two men who had sat behind them as she wove under table legs and stray feet to slide up along the front counter. The man and his dog had stepped away from the crowd to sit by a small table and she carefully slunk up, stopping a foot or so away from them as she sat with her tail bobbing behind her head.

Purring, she tried to keep the appearance of a well-trained polite cat as she eyed up the dog warily. Please, please be the only dog that doesn't hate cats.

Out Of Words Out Of Words Silver- Silver- Rhyme Rhyme

Roje closed her eyes, just using her hearing and her sense of smell for the time being. "He wouldn't be meeting us here. I told him I'd meet him at his place. Which was why I was hesitant on brunch with Shortcake." so many scents, so many different species. People were looking around at the restaurant, that was a given. Eyes landed on the girls, but shifted to Indy since she was a cat. Everyone was normal, too normal for her liking but it is what it is. Before her thoughts had consumed her, Silver spoke up, causing her to open her eyes and stare at Silver "If she doesn't show, then that means we can get the fuck outta here after you get some food for yourself." it wasn't hard to miss the gurgling in the wolf's stomach. After gazing behind her the first time, she really fought to look again, especially when Silver kept doing the same. She probably remembered them too, from their last timeline. I think we need therapy at this point.

Shuffling was felt behind her, and a voice had piped up, commenting on the cat upon the table. Turning her head slightly, she spoke toward Rhevens "Thanks. I'd say you can pet her but she's picky on who touches her." best to make conversation and be friendly she supposed. Especially since they were two werewolves...One that knew how to rip someone apart on top of that. She shifted her attention back to Silver, a stray hand returning to Indy. Then it happened, a rumble that she felt right through the booth chair and it only seemed to make her almost audibly sigh. I'd move but my legs feel heavier than lead right now. It didn't take long for Indy to get up, causing her to move her hand and watch her sister tap the glass that Silver had. No doubt she was trying to communicate with the wolf before jumping off the table and walking off.

The vampire raised her eyebrow and looked at Silver in confusion as to why her sister was walking away "Please tell me she's going somewhere safe and not somewhere that we'd have to track her." another thing that would have to be on the girl's minds now that one of them was walking off. Was it even a good idea to split up? Hell, was it safe to call out to her to tell her where they'd be if Beth never showed? "Hey fuzzball," she called out, hoping to get her attention as she glanced over again "West." was all she said, hoping her sister heard through all of the talking going on. Looking back to Silver, she leaned forward a bit and spoke in a softer tone "We're going to the West Docks as soon as you finish eating, or after Beth arrives. Hopefully we can get our answers there, are you game for that? Don't let me drag you everywhere if you don't feel comfortable" Roje felt a little bad just because she usually worked alone. While having a group at times had its perks...when all of them were confused and lost, it was a little harder to handle.

Customer O' Booty

The more Bug spoke, the more Leif felt like he'd been transported back to the old barbecue days. It was a strange feeling. Vaguely hopeful, vaguely... something else. But he didn't get carried away by Bug's constant flow of words nor by his lively energy. Instead, he watched as the man spoke with an expression both cautious and curious, head slightly tilted to the side. And it'd be a few seconds after Bug was done talking before Leif answered.

"Someone stepped on it." He answered. As for all the other questions, they were so many it was hard to keep track of them. "It's mine." He added as he slid the phone over to him. And this Bug was so... Bug like, it was hard to resist straight up considering him an ally and asking him the many questions that still swirled in his head. But Leif managed to hold back.

"It's a cool store." He spoke after briefly eyeing all of the interior decorations and merchandise on display. How long have you been here?" He asked quietly with observant eyes.

Bug immediately began inspecting the phone, turning it this way and that as he straightened up out of the previous lean. "Thanks! I love pirates. They're so... piratey. Oh, do you know why most pirates can't learn the alphabet?" This was said even as he reached for his tool kit under the counter.

Only, Bug didn't give much time for Leif to ponder the answer. "Because they get stuck at C!" He laughed at his own joke. "The letter C, for sea, get it?" Snickering, Bug was already working on removing the broken glass screen.

"Been here a while, lost count. Once it goes past one hand, I stop counting." And very subtly, there was a faint chitter chitter sound as Bug zeroed his focus in on the task at hand. Nearly stuck his tongue out the side of his mouth for that extra concentration.

Leif blinked at him a few times after the joke, but he eventually gave a chuckle, after Bug tried to explain it. He really wasn't in the mood for that, but it was Bug. What could he be expecting? It really was Bug!

When the man thankfully went back to working on the phone, Leif took a better glance at the inside of the store. It was a lot of information to take in. But when Bug answered his question, his attention quickly turned back to him.

Bug's answer was as intriguing as Levi's. And that sound, the chittering, Leif was sure he wasn't imagining. So this was Bug, not Bahg. But Leif wasn't satisfied with his vague answer. So far, Chase had been the only one with a reasonable explanation as to why he ended up in Marasong. "You stop counting years, decades or centuries?" The question coming out of his own mouth surprised himself a bit. He hadn't thought it through, he just blurted it out. But it did sound like a joke.

Bug didn't even miss a beat, didn't give the thought any time to process, as he was invested in the task at hand. "Anything. Anything more than I can count on one hand isn't worth counting." He chuckled a bit, but it was brief as he worked the glass top off, and made sure all the pieces and shards were out of the way.

"Oooh, yeah, some damage here. Not completely destroyed. I can work with this. Piss off someone in..." His head tilted this way and that, examining the damage. "Three inch heels? Four? Tsk tsk. Never piss off someone wearing heels longer than two inches. They'll poke your eye out."

Leif just watched while Bug worked, noting the man's reaction apparently didn't hint at anything. He did let out a sigh of relief when Bug said the phone wasn't completely destroyed, and he had a slightly confused expression as he processed what Bug said afterwards.

"Oh... no, it was an accident." He chuckled. "I shouldn't have left it on the floor." He then glanced around, looking for anything that wasn't a pirate costume. "Do you sell clothing here?"

Immediately, Bug was distracted with the new task of clothing. The phone was set down and he was already moving out from behind the counter to show a large grandfather style clock. It was hand carved, and looked antique but very well cared for. "Have I got clothing..."

He gave three knocks on the bottom half, then pressed a point here, and then there, before the door opened. Unlike other grandfather clocks, this looked to be like a secret doorway and had nothing to do with the tick tocking of the clock face above. "It's about the size of a walk in closet, because it is a walk in closet, but yeah, take your time. I'll work on the phone."

And Bug headed back to the counter leaving Leif looking through the clock 'doorway' to a room filled with well organized pants, shirts, suits, coats, hats, ties and even shoes. All neatly lined up from the floor to the ceiling.

Leif watched with interest when Bug turned his attention to an impressive old clock. At this point, and from the way Bug was handling it, he already expected it to be anything but an actual clock. Possibly a passageway to Narnia. So he was slightly, slightly disappointed when it turned out being 'just' a walk in closer. But hey, it did have what he needed, and a lot more.

After thanking Bug, he headed into the closet to check it out. He didn't take too long, and the longest time was spent checking out the variety of stuff to be found inside instead of actually picking what he intended to buy. It looked like Bug would need a bit of time to work on the phone anyway.

When he headed out, he placed small pile of the most unassuming clothes on the counter: a couple of black t shirts, the most basic pair of jeans and black boots. "Not disappointed with your selection, but kinda wish that led to Narnia." Not really. He'd had enough of teleporting for at least a couple of lifetimes.

"Oh, that clock is out for repairs." Bug grinned in a way that usually left someone wondering if he was being serious or not. "So, about the phone..."

He made a little grimace and then the sign of the cross. "Most I can do is get the data transferred to another phone? This one has gone to the icloud in the sky, as far as any continued functionality goes."

Bug was already pulling out a box from one of the shelves behind the counter. "I have a selection here, not any current models, but.. close? Otherwise I can order one and the next shipment would likely be....." A tilt of his head, lips moved as he silently counted the days. "About a week, week and a half, as long as ships aren't held up by weather."

Leif started getting worried when Bug mentioned the phone again, but he was relieved to know the data could be transfered to another device. He couldn't care less about the phone itself.

"I'll take the least expensive one you have." Leif'd checked his wallet for money, but he had no idea how much he had in the bank. In this timeline. So better play safe. Which is why he pondered for a little bit before unpresumptuously asking the next question.

"Do you know a Devlin?"

"A Devlin?" Bug looked confused, "Is that the currency where you're from?" He genuinely looked like he hadn't a clue what Leif was asking. "I can usually convert most currencies, or Joe next door can. But needs to match one fifty nzd." The price on the lowest compatible phone was $150 NZD.

"Or a comparable trade of goods."

"No no, it's a person. Nevermind." If Bug was lying, he was damn convincing. "Do you know where I can find Alice?" He continued, casually.

Grand Old Time

Dusk and Rhevens conversed at their table, with the rumble being felt off and on through the booth back Roje sat against. Rhevens couldn't help but keep glancing over at Silver, until the latter started glaring each time she caught his wayward gaze. A bit of a blush colored his cheeks as he pointedly tried not to keep glancing over, with a few 'Eh-hehs' escaping as he talked to Dusk. "Eh-heh. Think today will be an early day of work?"

"Dunno. Depends on how many damn ships dock today. I think we're only expecting a couple more, but there's always some asshat who feels like letting us know ahead of time is too much effort for their privileged fat asses." His rumble was deep as he chuckled. "Why?"

"Eh-heh, just thinking.. might be neat to check out the Cove tonight. Supposed to be pretty clear and can see the blue glow better." Rheven managed a quick glance toward Silver, but his gaze shot back to Dusk as the other man grew suddenly irritated.

"No. You stay away from the Cove, you got it? Fucking hell, how many times do I have to..." Cue long rumble and a hand that ran through his long hair. Only in the process, his hand lightly brushed against the back of Roje's head by accident. He turned halfway around in the booth, his sour moment gone as he gave a warm apologetic smile, "Sorry, darlin'."

Sage and Max apparently decided it was too crowded and helped Marius to his feet. "Come'n Pops, let's go see if that package came in, and maybe stop by our favorite fishing hole, eh?" Max spoke while Sage did most of the guiding. "Later Tilly, Miranda!" Max waved and followed Sage and Marius out the door where they turned to head toward the houses behind the docks.

Miranda waved back, but was keeping herself busy by the counter, giving a small smile and nod of her head any time Jay, Bernard or Aódh caught her attention. While Tilly was every which way, fixing this, plating that, and bagging food to go for Augie and Boy.

Augie hadn't noticed the cat at first, his gaze kept flitting through the many faces inside the cafe with a slight grin. One hand continually pet the dog at his side, occasionally slowing to a near stop as he people watched. However, all it took was a small movement from Boy and the petting was back. And before Boy could react to the small cat staring their way, Tilly came and set down a large paper bag with carrying handles on the floor, right between the dog and the small cat.

"Och, 'ere you go, loverly. Oh, isn't Boy lookin' perfectly splendid?" Tilly sank into a slight crouch, peering into Boy's face as she pet under the dog's chin. "Wot lovely, clear eyes." And yes, that was totally a wink she gave the dog before standing up and focusing on Augie. "Mebbe later you kin stop by a'fore the dinner rush?"

Augie was confused, but he would likely be picking up dinner anyway. "Uh, yeah, sure. Can do. Thanks, Tilly." He stood up and moved to pick up the bag by the handles, "Come on, Boy. We'll eat and sort through that pile of shells and rocks after." A wave to Tilly and Miranda, and he headed out the door, just moments behind Bill who left to find Hatsu.

"Okay, let's... Hatsu?" Hatsu had moved away from the cafe, but not far enough to be missed. It would take only a few quick strides to catch up to Hatsu, who had been near the corner where someone seemed to duck away quickly.

Roje & Silver Britt-21 Britt-21 Silver- Silver- : Silver, you're still the occasional focal point of Rhevens, who grins wider at you when Dusk has turned to address Roje for the accidental brush against her hair. And Roje, yeah, that's the same damn smile, the same damn drawl.

Indy Rhyme Rhyme : Yeah, you took your shot.

Bill BillieRoss BillieRoss : Coffee filled, you head out only to find Hatsu apparently decided to head on down the docks instead of waiting for you.

Boy KodakWolf KodakWolf : Oh, look at that Tilly, winking at you and looking in your eyes. And worse, making sure Augie came back by, you're certain to talk to him later about you. Pfft. It was enough to have a cat staring and purring at you a moment ago. Hey, where'd that cat go?

Hatsu silverwhere silverwhere : You felt very close to at least glimpsing who it was that seemed to duck around the corner, when you feel a hand tug on your elbow as Bill called your name again. "Ready to go?"

Ticket To Booty

With the mention of Alyce, Bug had a noticeable reaction. His motions stilled for only a second, if that, but it was definitely a pause. "Alyce?" He moved to quickly ring up the phone Leif picked out, "Oh, uh, cash or credit?" He'd adjust the sale based on how Leif wanted to pay.

"Did you want a warranty on this as well? Oh, and I'll need about an hour with it to transfer everything I can from your old phone to the new. It comes with a charger and cord, and user manual of course." Bug chittered, almost constantly moving in some way, shape, or form now. And nearly talking just as fast.

"Oh, I can toss in an SD card as well, no extra charge. Give you some more memory options. Uh, let's see... I think that'd be in. No charge for the transfer, since you're buying a phone. Did you want a case, or protective shield for the display? In case you piss off more people in heels?" Bug grinned wide, though the corner of his right eye twitched, twice. Then his lips moved, without making a sound. The motions were deliberate, and slightly exaggerated to try and be understood.

Do not seek Alyce.

West.
Indy flicked her tail in acknowledgment of Roje's instruction; maybe she should have been more worried, but she knew Roje had been able to handle herself back with the Coven. Silver too--Indy hadn't even known shifters could turn into animals that big. Figures she would get stuck as a cat instead of some giant wolf--or maybe a bear. Being a bear could have been helpful back around the second-kidnapping point.

She was fully prepared to meow in order to draw attention to herself when Tilly arrived. Indy's tail flopped to the floor as the bag landed in front of her before the man's eyes had a chance to stray her way. Something told her it would be far from the last time the Scots would win one over her. Fine, she could adapt. She had picked her way into countless balconies, out-waited a hundred people in her previous work in the pursuit of evidence--back before it had all gone absolutely ape-shit. The dog at least seemed politely disinterested and now that she was closer she could see his eyes were keenly alert for just another house pet. If she could just shift back this would be so, so much easier.

Alas, sometimes the cat had to go back into the bag.

Taking advantage of the woman's chatter with the man, Indy leaped into the takeaway bag Tilly had set in front of her. She managed to keep it from rustling too much as she squeezed her body between the containers, nose wrinkling at the strong scent.

"Uh, yeah, sure. Can do. Thanks, Tilly." The man said as the bag was suddenly jerked upward, Indy teetering sideways as she scrambled to keep her claws from ripping through the plastic sides. Shit, shit, oh holy shit--bad plan, bad plan--shit. She pressed her belly flat onto the top container, driving her claws into the sides as she clung on for dear life.

After watching someone duck around the corner, Hatsu found it harder to wait for Bill outside the Loving Spoon. He was filled with curiosity, even though Bill would be finished in a few minutes, he gave in and started toward the corner. There was a good chance that there was nothing to see but, with all the recent discoveries, he couldn't help but be more on edge. The previous day, Hatsu experienced a house fire, saw a weird ass horse in the woods, and found out magic was real. He was certain everything was connected; he just wasn't sure how. Marasong had secrets and he figured the only way to reveal them was to be a bit more nosey. And the best way to keep safe was to be on edge. Besides, by the time Bill had gotten her coffee whoever it was would be gone.

It was the only chance to see who it was, so Hatsu made it to the corner and begun to look around when he felt someone grab his elbow. He quickly pulled his elbow away and turned to see that it was Bill who had finished getting her coffee refilled and was ready to go.

"Uh, yeah let's go." Hatsu said as he lead the way, unaware that Augie had called him. He hadn't meant to ignore Augie, but his mind was filled with mystery people and mystery maps.

Hatsu didn't know who the mystery person was and hoped that on the way to the Imported Booty they might find the answer. He doubt that would happen, with as quick as they were, they were most likely long gone. His scanned the area hoping to catch a glimpse of the mystery person, as he began to think about the map. Hatsu had been quick to assume that the pirate lover had something to do with it and was certain that Bug might have some answers. This wasn't a guaranteed and it could just be him connecting dots in the wrong places. Either way, it wasn't a bad place to start. Bug worked with shipments and would understand the map better than him. It also opened the door for Hatsu to talk to him about his shipments and storage fees. In the end, Hatsu had to go to the Imported Booty so the trip wouldn't be a total lost if Bug couldn't help them.

Hatsu stopped in front of the shop and turned to Bill to say, "I hope you like pirates," before opening and holding the door for her to enter.
