Fandom HUNTER X HUNTER: Fruit of the World Tree

Somewhere in the Federation of Ochima...
Doctor Kruvonski sighed as he picked up shattered pieces of rubble, stone works from great ruins which were now in pieces due to the most recent excavation accident. The hot sun shone through the roof where the collapse had taken place, causing the archaeologist sweet attracting the fruit flies to him. The man had spent months working to find out what secrets these ruins held, but now that dream was in shambles. He had spent a small fortune on paying hunters to explore, but with the most recent collapse that had been caused by those amateurs he would have to pay even more money to hire better hunters to replace the ones that died, and he honestly doubted that something like that was in his budget right now. "Dammit" He screamed at no one at all, as if shouting to whatever god it was that ruled the world. As he did the ruins began to shake again, as his voice echoed through them, and rubble began to fall once again, collapsing the floor beneath him.

A few moments became an eternity as he fell and his life flashed before his eyes, what was he doing? What had driven him to this, as he soon hit the cold floor beneath him. It was but a few moments before he awoke, warm red fluid trickling down the side of his face as he laid on the floor, relatively unharmed. He stood, shaking his head as his senses came back to him, the loud ringing in his head soon subsiding into a dull pain and the thought that he had some how managed to survive. As he stood he looked before him to see the large mural on the wall, made entirely out of gold, and silver. He looked with awe and wonder as he stood in shock of what he had just found, the sunlight from above making out just enough for him to see the piece of art in front of him, which he estimated to be worth a small fortune in gold alone. He walked up to it and ran his hand across as he smiled in disbelief. He had found it, what he had been searching for, the secret of the world tree. Soon help began to descend into the ruins, as voices called out to him, but he could not respond due to the sheer shock of having what he had been seeking in front of him.

Several Months Later...
The Previous hunters exam had come and gone again, only a few months pass as the new hunters had begun their journeys around the world, seeking what it was they wanted to find in their lives. It had been a hard road for most of them to get this far, wanting nothing more than to find what ever it was they were hunting for. The rumors had been circling for only a short while of a fruit that could grant any ones wish, and hunters from all over the world wanted to find it, more than anything, because for hunters it was the easiest way to achieve what they were looking for in an instant, without having to do the hard work of completing their goals by them selves, possibly because those goals were impossible for normal human beings, or because most just wanted to take the easy way out.

The secrets of nen had been divulged to hunters all over the world, it was just one of their tools that made them who they were, that made them special enough to be hunters, and because of that it was important for those secrets to be kept safe, because if everyone in the world could use nen it would make the world a much more dangerous place. Hunter from all over the world began to converge in one area, Gonchu City, a large city in the Federation of Ochima, where there were rumors circling about the location of the fruit of the world tree, thats what they were calling it anyways, the fruit of a large tree that only grows in the dark continent, with one exception in the known world. But apparently this fruit is rare, so rare that not all world trees could grow it was what was to believed if the rumors were true, and most of which were false. But regardless people gathered, hoping to get a shred of information on this wish granting fruit.

"Oi, Rena, are we soon there yet or what, I'm bored" Said the teenager, only 18 years old and a certified hunter, even though the previous exam had been his first attempt. He was strong, not much stronger than most but the boy had a certain coldness to his eyes, one that had seen death and destruction, one that knew what it was like to lose someone close to him. He sat up in a train car, glancing back and forth at the passing people, keeping a sharp eye out for anyone who might seem to want to trick the two fresh hunters, similar as to what many tried to do in their hunters examination. Yuuki Takehashi was the boys name and he wasn't much of a talker, but when ever he did open his mouth it was either a snide remark, complaint or a lie, and when he found him self up against any advesity he tried to power through it with a brutal temper to match his usual demeanor.

Rena, on the other hand, sat across from Yuuki, kicking her legs back and forth as if she did have a care in the world and was some how enjoying the long train ride they had to take to get to where they were going. "You know Yuuki, whether you ask every five minutes or not wont change the fact that this is a long trip" she said, happily while sticking her tongue out at the boy who was sat across from her, she had finished her exam with Yuuki, having her closely guarded secret exposed by him. She had be infected by a nen beast when she was young, and while she could chalk up her sharp canine teeth and pointy ears to a birth deformity she couldn't explain the tail as anything other than part of a curse if people had to discover it, which Yuuki had managed to do during the hunters exam.

While Yuuki had seen her tail, he had not really though of it as a big deal at the time, until she explained her unique situation to him, after all there were a number of strange and funny looking beasts in the world, why should he consider her any different to what he had already seen. No, considering her different to what he had seen would be the normal thing to do, she was simple, she was human, what he had saw was not human, it was truly a monster. He began to play with a small snowflake in his hand, part of his new abilities that he had discovered during their training with a nen master when they passed the secret hunters exam together, though a couple snowflakes was all he could manage to form out of the water moisture in the air with his current abilities.

Rena on the other hand had been able to use nen more effectively than Yuuki from the get go, after she had found out her condition was due to a nen curse of sorts, one that was parasitic in nature and was especially hard to exorcise. The nen beast made out of flames helped hone her transmutation abilities, and she could now produce small blue flames in the palm of her hand. It was strange how her nen worked, she was naturally a transmuter but she was also a specialist, due to the nen beast residing in her, giving her a bit of extra strength and te ability to produce blue flames using her transmutation abilities, some how she felt like her and the beast were a perfect match for each other.

"Now arriving at Gonchu City" said a voice that came over the PA system in the train. Yuuki sighed as he stood up from his seat brushing the dust off his lap as the train came to a halt. They had used their hunters passes to board the train so luckily for them they didn't have to worry about money or anything else to get by on this trip, not that they had much between them anyways, they would likely need to find some work while they were here searching for rumors and leads on the so called wish granting fruit. Yuuki held a hand out to Rena to help her up, "coming?".

Hey everyone, so this is a soft reboot of the hunter x hunter roleplay I started a bit prematurely. Unfortunately I thought I was ready to begin and was no where near ready but now I am ready to get the ball moving. The roleplay starts a bit later than I had originally planned, skipping over the secret hunters exam arc that I was originally going to do in hopes of making it a bit more interesting. hopefully you guys can look past that early start on my behalf, and we can make this a great roleplay, I have big plans for this and I hope they will all work out to make for a good roleplay. the roleplay starts off in a non-canon city called Gonchu city, a city in the Federation of Ochima, a fairly unexplored canon area/ the city itself is large and will serve as the starting point for this adventure and work its way into a large arc full of mysteries and action.
