Nescura
Location: Hartfield, Arizona -> Desert View Inn.

"Oh. Im Agent Nescura, From Athena, Call me a...shapeshifter if you would like to. I got the word of coven aggression here lately, and so I was posted here per orders." The metal skinned supernatural said before letting out a metallic sounding sigh. "I was actually sleeping a good minute ago, But I heard an explosion. So here I am. However-"
The sound of an explosion accompanied by a showering wall of debris...from what was once a motel wall.
"Dammit, People forget to knock these days. Counting myself." There went her horrid attempt at humor. Wrong place, Wrong time.
A voice began to speak from a dragon that had appeared, before a red demonic or magical sphere enveloped it.
She felt some sort of...otherworldly connection with that dragon outside, No, Could it be? Nescura was created from a dragon's soul, A very powerful dragon at that. However, Since she could not Interfere, There was a "low" chance of Casey winning although she had an Idea.
Nescura rose her arms in defeat(?) before turning away. "Im leaving you guys to this!" As she ran off she shouted, "Backup!" Whatever that meant, In the meantime, The group would have to make due with what options they have left.

HARPER STEELBITE

Location: Desert View Inn

Sleep was dreamless and soundless. It was one of the few blessings that had happened to her during their stay at the inn that nothing had disturbed them in the middle of the night. The morning light slowly peered into the room, casting it's light along the beds to try to wake the occupants from sleeping the day away. With a small yawn and a long stretch, Harper sat herself up slowly letting her eyes adjust to her surroundings. Her body still ached from what happened the day before but she knew it wouldn't slow her down if a fight were to break out and she was needed in battle.

Her head slowly turned to where Val was sleeping, giving a small sigh of relief that she was still safe and sound. She was the one person that really mattered in this whole operation. Swinging her legs around the bed Harper stretched out her back giving out a long yawn. She didn't want to wake Val up from her sleep, if the demon was still tired out she wasn't going to force her to wake up. Throwing her boots on and putting her hair in a short pony tail, the werewolf had kept her clothes on from yesterday on when she fell asleep and wrote a note to Val explaining she was going to pick up breakfast and come back to the inn with food, so she shouldn't worry about her if she wasn't back.

Quietly leaving the room Harper flicked her truck keys in her hands and felt relaxed for the first time in what felt like forever. She walked down the stairs making her way to the truck when all of a sudden a loud sound caught her ears. Snapping her head in the direction of the noise she gave out an audible growl as her body went into high alert sensing danger. Her beast had awoken and was already tense. A female voice spoke about a person needing to defeat the dragon and only this person, Athena was to be sidelined or else they would be destroyed. What caught her ear was that the woman mentioned about being at Ma's Diner for a rematch. She didn't know who they were but something told her that these were the people who were known as The Hive. With a rumble in her chest of feeling the need to protect the people and keep those away from danger, Harper rushed to her truck and threw her keys into the ignition.

'I'm not letting these people hurt innocent folks for their sick games. If Athena is sidelined then it's up to me to stop em. Pays to be a Hunter now.'

Pushing her foot against the gas pedal Harper floored it and soon her truck roared to life, kicking up dust as it flew out of the parking lot to Ma's Diner. She felt her heart ping in sadness knowing that she was leaving Val behind, but she was justifying it that this fight was going to be too tough for the rookie Hunter and that she would be safer at the inn. Whoever these Hive were she was going to find out and she was going to take them down. It didn't take too long to get back to the diner, not with the speeds she was going at. Skidding her truck to a halt and kicking open the driver side door, Harper pulled out her shotgun and laid it against her shoulder as she came out of the truck. Cracking her neck her eyes scanned the area looking for any sign of threat.

She wasn't going to shout out a taunt to get their attention. If they were here she would know quickly by scent. Let them come to her, let them show their cards first and make the mistake. Let them be the cocky ones and mess up. That was how Harper worked. She was always patience when it came to waiting out enemies like this.

”Yes I did my wonderful familiars! eh…” She takes a moment analyzing the blonde bunny girl, she’s wearing an eye patch in the same eye as she does. ”That’s plagiarism! My image, stolen!”

”Hahahahaha!” Galadriel had to wipe the tears off her eyes from laughing so much, taking her time to see all three familiars. ”Maybe it’s because it’s your first time, you made their leader look a little like you.”

”Hmph… I guess… Well, I have a double now. That’s cool too.”

”Sorry to interrupt Lady Diasomnia, Lady Cypher.” Spoke timidly the pink haired girl. ”I’m Cherry, magical perception specialist.” Her ears twitched a little. ”I’m afraid one of your guests is approaching, a werewolf, Harper Steelbite.”

”Magical Perception?” Asked the vampire, she was knew to all this terminology.

”In order to use magic you need 3 abilities: Magical Perception, Magical Manipulation and Magical Formulation.” Clarifies the angel, making an holographic chalkboard appear in the air behind her. ”Most supernaturals have some degree of one or more of these abilities but only those with all 3 may use magic effectively.” A drawing of a werewolf appears in the chalkboard ”For example, werewolves have magical perception and a tiny bit of magical manipulation but lack magical formulation. Hence, they can’t all use spells and they merely use their physical attributes.”

The drawing is then shifted to one of a Vampire. ”Vampires on the other side tend to have all three abilities, you only need to keep training them and you’ll get better at it.” The chalkboard then gets erased and a new drawing of the bunny girls appears. ”Familiars are lesser beings, most of them have only 1 of those abilities. After all usually their witch takes care of spellcasting.”

”My name is Sky, I’m the magical manipulation specialist.” Confirmed the blue haired bunny girl, making a military salute.

”And I’m Amber, your Magical Formulation expert and leader of this squad.”

”Em… sorry to interrupt again but Harper Steelbite has arrived, should we eliminate her?”

”Eh? Well… I do want to see what you are capable of…”

”Wait! I have some business with her, stay back.” The angel interrupted Verónica and flew towards the direction that the pink bunny indicated earlier. No need to hide, no need to a surprise attack. When she was close enough to be seen by the werewolf she lifted both arms in a universal sign of peace. ”Of all people I never thought I would see you here, Harper.”

Danger! Enemy here! Go! Fight!

Harpers beast snapped loudly as the figure seemed to have come out of nowhere. Her back tensed up and the hairs on her neck stood on end. She felt her hands tighten around the shotgun as the person moved closer, holding their hands up in a sign of peace and spoke.

”Of all people I never thought I would see you here, Harper.”

Blinking Harper couldn't pin point who this woman was or how they knew her name. But she felt on edge and it was more than enough reason to switch her stance to a defensive position. Her finger stayed on the trigger as her eyes locked onto the figure, watching them closely as the moved. Her ears twitched, trying to "scan" the area for anyone else that would be hiding to aid this woman. "How do you know me? Who are you?" Harpers voice was clear and assertive. She showed no signs of feeling threatened or nervous. Never show the enemy your emotions.

Change! Attack! Danger! Not good person! Bad person! Bad! Hurt them!

The beast on the other hand was running wild inside of Harper and it was becoming hard to control it. It wanted to take control of Harpers body and change. It wanted to attack this woman and ask questions later. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath mumbling to herself "Calm down. We need to stay calm. Do this for me, do this for Val. Do this for those that are innocent. Control yourself."

It seemed to have calmed the beast, it gave a small whine before backing away, allowing Harper to take control of the situation. She opened her eyes and had them locked back on the unknown figure. "Don't try anything funny, I'm in no mood for tricks. So again, who are you? How do you know me and what the hell is going on?"

”Relax, i used to be an Athenian like you.” She calmly lowers both hands. ”I'm Galadriel, It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” She tilts her head to the side after seeing her defensive and hostile stance. ”Could it be that you actually think you can beat me?” She laughs sarcastically. ”You are overestimating yourself, Harper, i'm not a village of unsuspecting coven lackeys... i'm an angel.” A light shaped construct appeared below Cypher and she seated herself in it. ”Luckily for you, I'm not here to fight you.”

She took a moment to admire the scenery, she was usually inside a lab and only had time to see the world through a monitor. ”Anyway... What's going on is that you aren't interfering with our plans unless you want my dragon to take down your little demon apprentice by accident.” Cypher smirks, by now the werewolf must have recognized her voice as the one spoken by the dragon. ”You probably thought 'She will be safe if she stays at the hotel', right? But isn't that the worst place to be now? There's about to be a huge battle with unpredictable results and she's sleeping a few rooms from it.” She crosses her arms. ”So... hunter, are you fighting me or protecting your pack?”

A rumble growl could be heard when Galadriel had threatened Val. She slowly walked around the angel not sure what to do. Her pack was important but what this angel was doing was wrong and it was conflicting her. She gave out a quick spat of annoyance, never one to lay down and expose her belly to someone who was cocky or full of themselves. She would just have to hope that Val just trusted her.

"So you're having your dragons do the dirty work and not get your pretty hands dirty when someone comes to actually fight? Seems unfair and a cowards way out." she goateed at Galadriel. No, they were not going to have their way. They were not going to use this town as a play thing. Harpers nose flared as she stopped circling around Galadriel. She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, debating on starting the fight or continue talking. "For someone who is boasting that they can take me down so easily you're showing me nothing that proves your point. Don't have the dragon attack my charge. Leave her out of this. I came on my own accord and this is my fight with you. It's shallow of you to hide behind the trick of "Fight me and your partner get's killed" act."

Harpers beast was becoming restless now. It hated the talking and wanted the biting to start. It wanted to sink it's teeth in the angels neck and bite, bite, bite! It growled loudly making itself known to Harper that it was becoming impatient with the delegations. But she ignored the growl and continued speaking. "Don't hide behind the dragon at the inn. That's a weak move and we both know it. You're here and you're making it seem like a big deal. Then make it a big deal and fight me. Prove to me that you should be feared. Prove to me that I am outmatched. Prove it to me, don't just speak those words." Licking her lips Harper did something that she would normally never do when facing down another supernatural, she threw her shotgun to the side and stared straight at Galadriel. "We fight like supernatural. We fight pure. No guns. No man made stuff. You and me fight with only what we were given."

Her beast barked in approval, finally some action was going to happen. Finally the biting can start and it can bite that angels neck to shreds for threatening Val with a dragon. It wanted to show this angel that they were not to be underestimated.

"Huh? When did i said my dragon would attack your demon? I said she would get harmed accidentally, are you deaf? The battle about to happen there is unpredictable." She saw as the werewolf tossed her only advantage to the ground, perfect, that was her goal all along. "The thing is, Harper, we aren't all given the same and it's time for you to know your place." She lifted her index finger towards Harper, channelizing the pure solar light bathing the place since this morning. "Pew" At the speed of light itself a laser ray flew from her finger to the werewolf's left shoulder, piercing it clean. "You think i'm as dumb as your usual prey?" Her wings beeped, ready for any maneuvers the wolf may try to approach her. "I've read your entire file, Harper, your tactics are as tired as you. One of the many differences between you and i is that i don't give a fuck... say whatever you want about me, i'm not getting mad and irracional like a dog."

Mistake, we made mistake. Enemy strong. Enemy bad. Run!

It was too late. A hot burning sensation shot into Harpers shoulder. Her eyes grew wide and without even thinking her right hand shot up to her left shoulder, grasping at where she was hit. Harper staggered back a few steps catching her breath, the pain was radiating but she wasn't going to stop. No, not from a simple shot. If this angel was going to play dirty she would forgo her plan of not using her gun.

Her beast howled and clawed, threatening to break loose, her eyes flashed an amber gold color and she could feel her fingers changing into claws. "Not....Not bad....Not a bad shot....But nothing I can't handle....." Flashing a toothy grin she pushed off her feet and bolted to her shot gun. Harper just prayed that she could reach it in time and pull of some shots.

'We might of bitten off more than we can chew. But we need to slow these assholes down and stop them from doing what they want to do. Get a few shots and then change and try to bite her.'

Feeling the cold metal in her hand a small chuckle erupted from her throat. She glanced over at Galadriel and quickly formulated to aim at her wings. No smart ass remark, no one liners. Harper wasn't that person to throw a cocky remark as she fought. She pulled up her gun and fired in hopes to hit her mark. The kick back was brutal on her left shoulder and she hissed out while biting her cheek, containing the screams of agony that threaten to fall from her mouth.

'Come on, push through. Push through this. We need to do this. We need to stop them. Come on. Show them what you've got.' Harper pepped herself up preparing her next move. She needed to move fast and not give Galadriel an inch.

~ Fire in the hole! ~

Meanwhile, Val had finally awoken and, having seen Harper's note, was taking a long, indulgent shower to try and get some of the dust of the desert off of herself. For the love of... it's just small rocks! How does it GET everywhere?!? She had just finished up her rinse and was stepping out of the bathroom when an earthshattering KABOOM tore through the motel hallway, spewing cinder and white hot ash and blowing the door to her room straight off its hinges right at her. Time seemed to go into slow motion as Val's adrenaline kicked into instant overdrive, the demoness throwing herself wholesale back into the tub, only to watch splinters fill the air above her as the cheaply made foam-core door punched through the wall. The air was filled with smoke and dust and had Val not been rapidly thrust into combat mode she would have been rightly irritated at the efforts of the last hour having been so quickly erased; instead she leapt out of the tub and dashed towards her previously discarded clothing, throwing on her gear as she moved to engage, her twin pistols out and their hammers cocked.

The hallway revealed itself to be a complete disaster, with nary a worthwhile source of cover in sight, but nonetheless Val made her way quickly down the hall to where the brunt of the attack had taken place, sidling up along the newly formed blast hole to peer outside. "Oh... oh no, that is SUPER not good," came the words from her mouth as she now witnessed before her very eyes one of the dragons from the video feed earlier. Shit, they struck sooner than I thought they were going to! She watched as the words formed around the mouth of the dragon, followed by the announcement from whom the demoness assumed was the creator of this specimen, and frowned. A test? What kind of batshi-right, Hive. A roll of her eyes punctuated her thoughts as she began to look around the rest of the hallway, unwilling to test just how much of a duel this situation actually was.

There! Through the smoldering crater that had once been the outer wall of the motel, she could make out Casey's form, storming to the forefront with his full-sized handgun outstretched. Wait, Casey! Her silent plea went unanswered as seven rounds flew through the air and were halted in place by the barrier around the dragon, as ineffective as the mad scientist claimed they would be. As she looked back to the rest of the group that seemed to be backing Casey up, she grumbled, recognizing the man-spider and the brown haired agents from before. Ugh, right, of course they'd be with him. She sighed. This situation is completely sideways... what the hell do I do now? And where the hell is Harper?!

-wait. They said they were waiting at the diner if they wanted a rematch, did she...
Val swore under her breath, frustrated but still unwilling to give away her position just yet. Of course she went alone! She still thinks I'm a damn kid! For a split second Val considered making her way down to the parking lot to "commandeer" another vehicle to take to the diner, but realized it would be incredibly stupid to do so right in front of a gaggle of Athena agents. Besides how much firepower could one demon add to the fight? Well, I'd like to think a lot but for the moment, I'd better make an appeal to authority... ugh. All right, here goes. She finally tucked out of cover, moving around as best she could to keep at least some manner of barrier between her and the dragon, though given what it had already done to the hotel the effectiveness of such was questionable. Eventually she popped out above where the combined Athena/Casey group had huddled, and called out to them. "HEY! HUNTER UP HERE, DON'T SHOOT! TELL YOUR MAN HE NEEDS TO USE HIS POWERS!"

"Now you see how different we are? I was made by a god and you are a wrong turn in the evolutionary tree!"Galadriel's wings were intact from the impact, human bullets couldn't scratch celestial steel, of course, but the vibration was annoying. "Tks... Why do you want to fight me so much? Do you honestly think we'll destroy the town?" Her voice filled with rage for the first time in the entire exchange. "We are not Athena, you know? We don't destroy the innocents." She flaps her wings once and she impulses herself to the sky, positioning both hands. "But if you aren't going to play by your own rules, cheater, i won't either."

A pair of modified handguns appeared in her hands, she was about to pull the trigger when she doubted herself. "... Just leave, Harper. My beef isn't with you, it's with the Athenians." She rolls her eyes, vanishing both guns. "I only threatened the town to draw them in, i won't destroy it, ok? That's not what The Hive wants, we haven't hurt anyone that you know of, correct?"

Casey Nilos. Desert View Inn.

Casey was unsure what to do next. It was on him to fight this thing, but he had never engaged in this kind of combat before. He wasn't a dragon slayer, he was a vampire hunter. Generally, any combat he engaged in was in close quarters, at night, on his terms and his target wasn't the size of an SUV.

Someone called down to them from above. "HEY! HUNTER UP HERE, DON'T SHOOT! TELL YOUR MAN HE NEEDS TO USE HIS POWERS!" He recognized the demon from the diner. He didn't give her a second glance then, but he was pretty sure it was her. This town was too small for there to be another demon, after all.

Theoretically, this should have been the most secure block in America with the rapidly multiplying number hunters and Agents. The Hive had just negated that fact with a huge fuck-off dragon. The demon encouraged him to use his newfound powers. He really didn't want to. Casey had no idea how his new abilities worked, and his experience with incendiaries began and ended with a homemade napalm experiment that he nearly got arrested for.

He looked up at the demon. "I, uh, I don't know how." He called back.

Maybe it was a concentration thing? Like Green Lantern? Casey refocused on the demon. He thrust out his left hand, fingers outstretched.

"Flame on!?" He said. Nothing happened.
Then he curled his middle and ring fingers while keeping his index, thumb and pinky extended; like Spiderman. "You're fired!" He said and flexed his wrist. Nothing happened. He was getting desperate.
"Maybe it's a subconscious thing?"
He changed his hand into a finger pistol and concentrated. What did he want to happen?

"Burn." He thought coldly.

Flames erupted from his finger tips and a blue fireball was sent flying towards the dragon at incredible speed. The heat from the back-blast washed over him. He felt it all. The burning. It felt... good?

He watched the fireball impact his target.

Not her fight. Told to back down. No, that was not what she does. Even with an opponent who was stronger than her now staring her down in the sky and looking as though they were second guessing themselves, Harper wasn't backing away. She gave out a loud growl and threw her gun down on the ground. Bullets were not going to work against the angel, as was evident when she fired upon their wings and no damage was done. But to be asked why she was fighting it caused her to pause for a second. Why was she fighting? Boredom? The thrill? To feel she was doing justice? Narrowing her eyes Harper moved a few steps forward, defying the order to leave.

"I never once harmed an innocent when I was under the gaze of Athena! Never once did I hurt those that didn't deserve it! Do not judge me, angel for you don't know me!" she shouted. Her eyes were now full amber gold, her hands trembled as her nails were now claws. The canines have become sharp and long as the change was starting to take shape but Harper still kept control before allowing her beast side full control.

She glared up at what could be her final moments in life. To defy what it was and to show that she was not a wrong turn in the evolutionary tree, as so she was told. "You claim you have not harmed innocents but here you are, using dragons to destroy buildings and yesterday your kind destroyed this diner! You are no better than The Coven! No better than Athena! Whatever you are, you are no higher than what you think you are. You are just another faction who is blinded and is causing harm." Her legs spread out as an animalistic growl rumbled from her throat. Her beast wanted out now. Wanted to be in control.

Out! Out! Bite enemy! Claw enemy! Hurt enemy! Let me out!

It was becoming painful to hold it back. Normally Harper and her beast were in sync when it came to the change and their mind and bodies were one. But when one or the other was out of sync, agitated or if her beast side was pushy to be in control it made the transformation harder to control and also caused the transform to become quite painful. Her right arm gripped at her chest as she felt her breathing becoming labored, sweat trailed down her forehead and down her cheek.

Stop, you need to calm down. You're going to make us an open target for the enemy. Focus!

Human side talk too much! Change now! Now! My turn! My turn now! My turn to bite!

Hunching forward Harper gave out a loud cry. Her body began to twist and turn, ribs were cracking, bones popping and soon her beast was pushing itself through forcing a fast change. It was not a graceful change, like that which you would see in the movies. Underneath her paws blood was spilled and shreds of her clothing. A fast change was never clean, never painless and never pleasant. The large wolf looked at the sky, it's left leg tender to place weight on it from when she was injured earlier, splayed out her other legs in an aggressive manner and began to bark at Galadriel. How badly it wanted to sink it's fangs into her neck and pull at her throat. How badly it wanted to rip at her arms and make her feel pain. How badly the grey werewolf wanted to fight the angel and prove once and for all it was not only a threat but it could stay in a fight.

Taken seriously. That's what this fight is about. That's the answer to the questions posed earlier.

Desert View Inn.

The tapping of metal scraping against concrete had Farron’s eyes blazing with an indecipherable light when Nescura made her appearance. Suppressing an instinctive growl, Farron watched as the feminine-looking metallic woman strode into the busted room with such a casual air, Farron half thought she’d been part of the team and briefed all along for a heartbeat. A throng of inquiries left her lips just as her hand morphed into a fan to cool herself down, the warmth that the room was clinging onto doing a number on her it seemed. When she used the term ‘thermite’, it was then that the werewolf wondered if she would be able to explain what may be going on with Casey but then she saw in her peripherals that Vic was easing into a defensive position.

The spider-folk took the words from her mouth in asking who she was. By the way she spoke and was currently conducting herself in the face of possible danger, Farron straightened up a bit as a few things began to click in her mind. She has to be an Athenian, there’s no way. Shaking her head, she looked to Casey now in remembering him mentioning that he should probably stay away from occupied buildings. “Staying in your truck would probably be for the best.” She confirmed quietly, noting the bright rays that sprang into the room signaling it was some time past dawn now. Honestly, she wanted nothing more than to curl up beneath a good patch of shade and sleep than interact with any more people at this point. There was one thing she couldn’t shake though. Casey had mentioned his fiery ailment would probably be a curse. The Hive were not witches, they seemed to rely more on science that powers that were invisible to the mundane eye. So what were they planning by administering this?

“Vic! Move!” Farron found herself moving before she could think, pushing off the edge of the bed to stand between the spider-folk and the ragged doorway as yet another person joined their haphazard little group. Drywall and plaster pelted her, her arms having come up to protect her face but when she lowered them, a mechanical dragon had manifested, gouging a wider hole into the room with the door now being used as a perch for the mythical beast. It’s maw pried open to spew a disembodied voice that made Farron shudder with recognition. “Galadriel.” She murmured under her breath though she soon growled softly at the matter-of-fact words. A hostage situation. It was one that not only had the Athenians walking on eggshells but the townspeople as well. Casey was the first to react and to Farron’s surprise, the amount of anger that washed over him made her wonder if he’d randomly combust again. Fueled by emotion rather than logic, she half knew it wouldn’t end well but she and Vic couldn’t risk anything sudden within the dragon’s vision right now. It was best to simply watch.

Another voice yelled out from somewhere beneath the floor of the pathway leading to outside, Farron’s eyes flickering when she noted it was the white-haired demon that travelled with Harper. Her name was... Val? She urged Casey to use his powers which was against the majority of protocol, something the Athenians probably couldn’t suggest without at least doing some further analysis but it seemed that Casey had a better handle on his powers after his little outburst from earlier. Or.. both of them. Third time was a charm, she guessed. His hand gestured into multiple signs until it seemed to settle into the right one, the dragon soon being taken over by blue flame. “Val, look out!” She hoped her warning came in time enough for the demon to have moved away from whatever close proximity she’d held below them in case the dragon decided to lose it’s stoic form.

The angel sighted, now that Harper had gone full on beast mode she was no longer of her interest. ”Disgusting dog... don't say i didn't try.” With a flick of her left wrist the light chair launched itself towards the wolf but before impacting she snapped her fingers and the chair imploded in light. As she sees the wolf flying in the sky from the blast she nods. ”Use your new toys, Diasomnia! Lethal force is not authorized.” She yells out to the vampire, which was closer to the dinner.

”You heard her girls, let's see what you can do.”

The bunny girls gave her a military salute and then proceded to do what they were told. ”Analisis of the Area complete, transferring link to Sky.”She grabs Sky's hands with hers. ”Data link received! Calculating trajectory and resource management... Ready! Waiting from ammunition.” Both girls positioned their hands together, forming a golden light bow ready to fire. ”Formula ready, target locked, permission to fire... Granted!” A golden arrow formed in the bow and then the bunnies shot it directly towards the flying wolf, it was like a golden thread in the air changing directions and following it's mark until the very end. They could have killed the wolf right there but they were told not to and so the arrow targeted areas that would not kill her but instead would let her totally immobilized until her regeneration powers could fully recover the entirety of the damage.

On the hotel, the red dragon was pushed backwards a bit by the fire which unlike the bullets was capable of trespassing the red barrier. Its eyes flared with red energy and it propelled itself towards Casey, firing red flames directed at him. Some white text appeared above the dragon: 'Esper Initial Assessment...', the dragon used its tail to send Casey flying to a wall and the words dissipated and new ones emerged: 'EIA: Lower than average.' The dragon opened its mouth once more, preparing its flames for a new attack. If Casey wished to survive he would have to recover and evade the fire because: 'The endless flame that negates existence' appeared once more around the dragon's mouth.

Heading towards Ma’s Diner.

The moment Silver succumbed to the cold lull of the ice that now encased her, she dreamt of nothing for the longest time. There was nothing to see, nothing to feel as she aimlessly just.. fell. She couldn’t tell if she was falling through air or simply drifting down into murky depths but she knew that her body was dormant and yet her mind was awake within whatever type of unconsciousness this was. There was a point where she impacted something, a cry of surprise and pain leaving her as she tumbled blindly down some kind of slippery, cold slope before the nauseating fall came to a halt as she ceased to gain momentum. One moment she was entrenched in bleak darkness, the next she laid some feet away from a copse of arbors that stretched at least miles tall and feet wide, their trunks stark white and complimenting the snowy landscape she laid in. It didn’t feel cold here—at least not in her mind—but her hands were trembling, their tips rosy as if her body were attempting to warm up. Exhaling softly, fiery wisps left her lips once again like when she’d been back in town.

Town? She couldn’t even recall where she’d been prior to the darkness, her memories jumbling together and shoved behind some type of fog she couldn’t reach through. Shaking her head, she scoped the quiet snowscape, noting that the trees were not only stark white but their canopies were as well. She was a mere mouse in comparison to their looming forms. The shadows they cast were of a bluish tone, not stark against the snowy underfoot almost as if they were mirages. Behind her were smaller arbors with leafless canopies, looking gray-blue and normal in comparison to those in front of her. Curiosity pushed her to trek forward, her footfalls silent as the snow that currently fell began to increase the closer she got to them until it felt like she was trudging through a blizzard, the wind whipping mercilessly at her face and throwing her dark hair into wild tangles that had her struggling.

Moments later, she found herself crouching face to face with a white wolf, having been suddenly thrust into the area in front of the massive arbors without warning. The snow fell lightly now, never touching the wolf before her whose eyes burned like undulating embers. Oranges, ambers and yellows resided in its eyes, it’s head soon lowering to rest on her shoulder as it moved forward. A shock of warmth passed through Silver when it did so, her dominant, scarred hand coming to sink into it’s neck fur as she realized what it was doing. This wasn’t just some wolf, it was her’s. For the first time in her life, she could feel all tension leave her body as she fell into the embrace all too readily, her face burying into it’s shoulder. A low tune soon worked it’s way into her mind against the fog of her memories, bringing with it: awakening.

Silver had been just in time to see a mechanical looking blue dragon dissipate the ice and snow she’d conjured up. Luckily, she wasn’t sopping wet so this dragon must be of the same typing as her and judging by how it had conveniently walked up to her, she guessed it was another one of the Hive’s little inventions. Her thoughts were confirmed as she listened to the voice that spoke from it’s depths, her eyes blinking slowly with disinterest at most of what it had to say. A test from the Hive, probably to test out her powers. By the sounds of it, Athenians were involved in this mess too but who exactly?

“Powerful being, huh?” Silver murmured quietly, her eyes darkening as she moved into a standing position. There appeared to be multiple threats afoot and this was all growing to be one big headache she hadn’t signed up for. “Kill me then.” Her answer was hollow, the threat of death sounding more like a chore than anything else as she began walking away from the dragon instead. The commotion arising at the diner was much more interesting than the blue dragon or the genocide of the town at this point. She was also curious about the role Athenians appeared to be playing. If the Athenians are playing hostage, that must mean I’m not the only one that got hit by the Hive. For what reason, she didn’t know but she wasn’t about to waste time and tussle with a mini-mecha Godzilla that she could cut in two easily.

Location: Ma's Diner

Fast, too fast. Harper tried to run past the chair but whatever power this angel had was too much. One second she saw the chair and felt her body juke to the left but then the next second heat licked at her fur and paws, her body felt weightless while everything became silent besides a dull ringing. Her eyes snapped shut, mind went into overdrive trying to figure out what just happened.

Stay focused! It's just a distraction. Open your eyes. We need to land on our feet if we are to stand a chance against them and-

Something sharp pierced through her shoulder. It caused Harper's eyes to snap open, why was she still in the air? Everything feels like it's running in slow motion. She should have landed. Her beast should have landed by now on all fours and charge back into the fight.

Another sharp piercing pain through her leg now. And another. Soon the shots started to come from what felt like all sides, causing both minds to become on high alert and realize the danger that they were in.

Enemy!

We need to move!

Pain! Hurts! Burns! Make it stop!

A loud, sharp and blood curdling cry erupted finally from Harpers lungs. Landing on her back she twisted around with all four paws kicking at the dusty ground. Her beast snapped, snarled and was trying to push herself up on her feet. But each time weight was even placed on any parts of her body it felt like lightning shot through her. The world was coming back into focus, sound was slowly returning. Breathing, the sound of her breathing was what first hit Harpers ears. Then like a tidal wave in the ocean everything came all at once after. Explosions, roars, and other sounds she couldn't quite figure out.

And for once an emotion that ran down the werewolf's back like an icy hand of death, fear. Fear of losing, fear of failing, fear of looking weak and something that every Hunter fears but lies about, fear of dying.

Val.........We failed her to be a mentor. We failed because we got too prideful. The angel was right, this wasn't our fight. But we stuck our nose in because we wanted to do good. We wanted to stop them.....Even if it means death. But we failed that. We failed protecting anyone and we failed Val......

A low whine came out from under her lips. Exposed, wounded, Harper knew the odds of dying were high. Her eyes looked up at the sky towards the angel, both her beast side and herself accept whatever fate this enemy has planned. Not realizing that there was an order given to keep her alive and just out of the way.

Galadriel descended on the ground next to the wolf, noticing her broken look. ”Do you honestly think i would waste my time on killing you? As i said before, you aren't on our level... yet.” A grin appeared on her face while she began to speak through the intercom to the Psyqueen. ”Did you saw all that?”

”Of course, i asume you want permission to administer the serum?”

”Certainly, she would be a wonderful specimen. Do you concur?”

”Affirmative, give the dog a bone.”

The angel drew a brownish vial from her purse, it had a few specs of green and silver. ”Roger that. Are you listening to me, Harper?” A gun appears in her free hand and she loads the vial into its chamber. ”If you want to stop us, get stronger and destroy the golden dragon on top of the dinner.” She pulls the trigger and the brownish energy hits the damaged wolf in the head and runs through her back, fusing itself with her spinal fluid. ”This is my strongest brew but i'm sure you'll handle it just fine, i'm sure.” She began to walk away towards the dinner. ”I'll be waiting for you in the dinner, don't disappoint us.”

On the other hand, the blue dragon put itself in front of Silver in the blink of an eye. Its movement was so fast one might think it teleported but a werewolf ears could easily notice it was just incredible speed. With the same speed it directed its left fist to her face, pushing her back to her initial position. Then blue words appeared around it: 'Silver can't leave unless she kills the dragon or dies trying., the words flew high in the sky and formed a giant sphere of blue energy around them that impeded all escape attempts. The area was of course big enough to easily maneuver, run and do all kind of stuff inside it but exiting was futile.

Newcomer: Shatter

Location: Outside Ma's Diner
Somewhere near Ma's Diner, the ground began to shift slightly. Dust rose and swirled around above the ground. The cloud began spinning and condensing, going faster and becoming thicker, until suddenly, it compressed into a solid shape. The dust had formed into a purple and grey heart. The heart simply floated in the air for several seconds, then more dust rose into the air around it, forming a black and purple cloud. The cloud took a humanoid shape with the heart at the center, and the entity floated back down to the ground. In a small flash of light, armor and a sheathed sword appeared on it. As it started to move, flexing its fingers and shifting around, it opened a pair of purple eyes. Shatter had arrived.

Vic listened to the answer Nescura gave. Apparently, she was yet another Athena agent, though she hadn't shown up on the agency website. He was about to ask to see a badge when the side wall exploded, and a chunk of 2x4 cracked Vic upside the head. He staggered, blacking out for a moment before he came to to Farron yelling at him to move. He shook off the blow and finally noticed the giant metallic dragon outside the destroyed wall, recovering from some sort of firey explosion.

Vic whipped out his pistol as Casey was apparently facing off against this thing alone. Nescura was nowhere to be found, and Farron seemed to want him to leave? He must have missed something. He vaguely remembered various voices talking but the blow to his head had really put him out of it.
"What? Why are we letting Casey fight this thing alone? He needs help!" he yelled, but staggered after Farron, hand on the side of his head, blue blood leaking from underneath. This didn't sit right with him, but he needed to get his head on straight and figure out the situation before he could help.

"...Please don't mess this up, Agent Nescura. Im already having a call from the damned USAF Chief of Staff about some large flying object over a small town in Arizona. "Because he's the only one they're letting fight him!" Val yelled back to Vic, "Didn't you hear them? The hive are whackjobs, but they're scientific whackjobs; they want an isolated experiment, and unless you've got one hell of a shield neutralizer in your back pocket, that's pretty much what they're gonna get. All you bunch can do now is make sure he doesn't die!"

She nodded in receipt of Farron's warning, and leapt down from her elevated perch, dropping down to ground level and running among the various cars present in the lot. "HEY! G-MEN! SORRY FOR DOIN' THIS BUT I NEED TO COMMANDEER A RIDE; MY MENTOR'S BUSY TRYING TO GET HERSELF KILLED AND YOU LOT AREN'T ALLOWED TO BAIL HER OUT! CONSIDER THIS PART OF THE MONETARY RE-COMPENSATION PACKAGE!" The car she pulled up to looked like something out of an old movie, all boxy lines and big iron, but that just meant it was that much easier to ply to her will. With the back of a gun she smashed open the driver's side window, reaching in and unlocking the door before clambering under the steering column to repeat the procedure she'd done just the other day. Jeez, if this hunter gig ever goes south, at least I have a lucrative career in car theft to fall back upon. The big V8 underneath the elongated hood roared to life, and as Val slammed the door shut, she threw the selector lever into gear, peeling out at max speed towards the diner.

As she neared, the massive dragon sitting perched atop the established rolled over the horizon like some massive theme park attraction, but Val knew for sure the only amusement this mechanical beast would be doling out would be reserved for its creators. What did this town do to piss off THIS many people at once? She yanked the wheel to the side a few blocks away from the diner, bringing the car to a halt as she clambered out. Adopting a stable stand, she began to concentrate, willing light to bend around her. "Made of prisms be, go forward unseen~" she sang quietly, as the spell took effect, effectively cloaking her from visual detection.

She closed the remaining distance on foot, the parking lot to the diner all that lay between her and the gigantic monster. Ugh, another insane test... but wait, if Casey and Silver are the ones who are facing off the other two, who's the poor berk for this sonuva- At that moment she laid eyes upon her mentor, down and badly wounded, and her thoughts rapidly changed. Oh no. The discarded syringe vial said everything that needed to be said about Harper's fate; now she too was unwillingly a test subject to the madness of the Hive. Damn these madwomen! Is there no limit to your sociopathy?!

Val shook her head. No time to worry about that, right now we've got bigger fish to fry. Teach needs our attention, pronto. She crept over to Harper, her boots making quiet footfalls on the dusty pavement as she approached the large wolf. Far from the intimidating beast of legend she'd been depicting the night prior, her mentor now looked every part the beaten pup, blood streaming from several wounds that incapacitated her to the point of helplessness. "Harper, don't move or react, but I'm right next to you," she quietly whispered as she got within audio range. "I'm cloaked right now; I don't want the Hive to know there's more than one of us here. We're gonna need every advantage we can get, and the element of surprise is a big one."

The demoness felt underneath her overskirt to reach into the small pouch she wore on her lower back, withdrawing an auto-injector of her own and bringing it to bear. "I'm gonna give you a stim; it'll at least get you up and moving. After that you're gonna have to rely on your own healing factor." She held the injector to the massive canine's body and activated its trigger, the drug quickly dispersing itself into her blood system to begin its recuperative effect. "Whatever the hell they injected you with is gonna give you powers like it did Casey and Silver; I literally just saw our dear hunter friend lob a fireball from his fingers. I hate to say this but... we're gonna have to figure out a way to beat that overgrown lizard using these powers; it's the only thing that's going to affect it."

"But hey, look on the bright side- maybe you'll actually get to be a hero for once?"

HARPER STEELBITE

Location: Ma's Diner

Time meant nothing to Harper now. Everything seemed to stand still as she laid on the ground, feeling the blood pooling around her. Breathing was the only sound that she could hear while her body seemed to slowly heal after the barrage of arrows. Her eyes flicked around every direction in alertness, trying to stay awake and not let sleep succumb to her. Whatever she was injected with she could feel her body reacting to it but it seemed to be taking it's time due to her healing factor. The dragon on top of the diner looked bored and did not move, waiting for Harper to recover so that the trail may begin properly and that it can do what it was tasked with, test it's subject with the serum to see if she was worthy of it.

Her ears perked up hearing a low whisper of a voice that was familiar that caused her beast to react happily, Val was here. She was safe and she was by her side.

Val, safe.....here.....friend. Pack.

Yes, she's here. But we're in no shape to stand up.

When told not to react her ears moved back in sadness since her beast wanted to greet her with a nudge. She heard about the stim that Val had on her and after the explanation a sharp sting ran through her shoulder, letting the drugs flow through her veins to give her body the extra jump it needed to heal and get her on her feet. With a growl Harper pushed her feet up off the ground, having her head still hanging low. Her wounds were now closed and a new surge of energy pulsed through her. A second chance at this fight and this time she wasn't going to fail.

Go back dormant. I need to take over now. Something about this injection that the angel did doesn't feel right. Let me take control.

Her beast seemed to understand and were back in sync again. Pulling back control Harper closed her eyes and felt her body transform back to her human side, half torn clothes that covered her. It was a cleaner transformation than when she turned into her beast form. Taking a slow deep breath in she stood up straight and took mental check of her body. Looking up at the building she watched as the dragon shifted it's weight but still didn't move, like it knew she wasn't ready yet to fight.

"Val.........I......this is dangerous.....This is above a rookie level.......I'm not sure if you're-"

A sharp pain exploded from Harpers back. She hunched over falling to her knees against as the pain now seeped and engulfed her body. The ground around her began to tremble, following her own shaking. She placed her hands on the ground gripping it tightly as another sharp pain jabbed down her back. Was this what Galadriel meant by handling the serum? Her insides felt like they were contorting and twisting in a way that she wanted to die but couldn't. Her hands pushed harder into the ground until suddenly they were causing cracks and dents that would have been near impossible to form before. The rocks around her buzzed with life and it was catching the attention of the dragon, who was now standing up and staring down at the two with interest.

Sweat fell from the tip of Harpers nose. Each breath now felt like one of her ribs was cracking. How did the other Hunter survive this pain? Did it last this long? How did it end? She wanted to just slam her whole body into the ground and make it stop. Just slam it into the earth and be one with it. "Make.......Make it........end! That.........crazy.......woman! I'm going......I'm going to kill her.........for doing this to.........ME!" Without warning Harp stood up quickly as sharp rock like spikes formed from her arms and shoulders. They soon shot out in all directions, luckily missing Val and also the unknown guest known as Shatter. She panted, gasping for air like it was years since she had her last breath.

Her lungs burned like hot fire, her back screamed like a thousand needles were being stabbed into her and yet Harper wanted nothing more than to have a rematch with Galadriel, to beat Galadriel, to even end Galadriel.

"Val.........Let's do this." her voice rumbled with determination as she glared up at the golden dragon.

A synthetic voice rang through The Hive's HQ main operations room “Danger! Danger! Danger! Unknown Variable detected; immediate countermeasures required!” It was of course an alarm activated by the new being known as ‘Shater’, the Psyqueen glared at the monitors that showed the image of this unknown shadow and she moved her left hand through the air while chanting an incantation, the trail left by her fingertips opened a dimensional rift in which she soon entered.

Outside of Ma’s dinner was located the other end of this portal and she came out of it as imposing as ever. After it was closed her eyes darted around to find uninvited guest, finally seeing the shadow face to face. "Identify yourself at once, or else." Psionic energy filled the area around her, even her hair began to slightly fluctuate colors as it moved in the air by itself. Right then rock spikes were shot in all directions by the werewolf and Ophelia simply flickered her left hand and shattered all of those that would have hit her and the girls otherwise while in midair.

On the other hand, the angel directed her eyes up in the sky, making a transmission of her own to the plane type transformer. "You’re flying over private a space, desist or be blasted by our golden dragon." She took a pause, just to left the terror run through its metallic body. "Just kidding, hahahahahahaaha. But seriously, get the hell out or I’ll rip you apart myself." She snapped her fingers, making the plane’s engines lose energy entirely. "I hope you know how to handle a crash landing, toodles!" The transmission was over but the energy wouldn’t come back to the engines. "Diasomnia, there’s another hunter. If she interferes with Harper’s mission, terminate her."

"Certainly" She moved towards both hunters, keeping her distance. Behind her followed suit the three bunnies she had now as familiar, all prepared to fire once more. "Hm… Cypher did say there was someone new here…" Spoke the vampire, noticing only harper at first. "Huh, Cherry, initiate scan of the area."

"Right away, Lady Diamsomnia!" Her bunny ears twitched slightly while she gathers the information requested by her master. "Known demonic guest detected! Val'sharra Nightshroud, huntress." With her left index finger she pointed at Val’s exact location. "Transferring data link to Lady Diasomnia!"

Verónica’s eye patch began to glow magenta and blue and she greened. "I see, stealing our signatures moves isn’t it? Hahahahahaha" She said as The Hive used the same technique yesterday when injecting Casey and Silver, then she went serious. "I’m sure I don’t have to remind you that only Harper is authorized to fight the big guy up there?" She shook her head while raising both hands. "If the demon interferes she could ruin our little test, taint it. So please, do not make us neutralize you too."

Shatter

Location: Outside Ma's Diner
Shatter turned toward Ophelia, unflinching as the stone spikes from Harper flew past them. "I am Shatter. I have no business with you, unless you intend to stand in the way of my goal." Anticipating her to fight them, Shatter prepared to unsheath their sword, as their slitted pupils narrowed further, and a dark aura manifested around them.

A voice came through the radio in the AC-130, before Necura's power finally gave out. The engines stopped completely, right after some person or whoever opened up a secure frequency with her.
"...AHHHHHHHHHH!"
The AC-130 dipped down and sped up while spinning, but it was all part of the
plan...her plan. She didn't feel a powerful pulse of energy, so maybe not an EMP, Maybe it was magic. Nescura mentally closed her eyes, and slowly transformed. I gotta interfere now, She thought. No coming back.
Something faster than the eye, Something faster than any jet before its time...

The SR-72 Blackbird, With a possible top-speed of 14,500 MPH. The jet zipped across the skies, making a sonic "boom" before moving faster than anything ever conceived by supernatural or man alike. She pulled up, right before a deadly airblast was sent towards Ma's Diner. It would shatter lungs. Windows. And anything else fragile.
