I've been playing Reach a lot since 343i brought it to the MCC and I thought to hell with it, why not make an Rp for it? The idea is we will be fulfilling a role similar to that of Noble team, operating throughout the fall of Reach. You will be playing the role of one of the four spartan lll's who make up Fireteam Cryptic, an elite group of soldiers who were hand picked from the ranks of their brothers and sisters by ONI themselves. Of course we all know how the battle of Reach eventually goes and there will be no changing that but who says we can't have a little fun along the way. Anyway I'm open to suggestions from those who join up so if you have any ideas you'd like to crop in this roleplay feel free to pitch them! My only requirements are that you are at least semi active and can write at least one well written paragraph per post. Of course due to the nature of Halo this roleplay will be an 18+ kind of affair, themes of war and all that. Preferably I would like 2 female characters and another male to round off the genders but that's not essential. I'll post the rough draft of my OC below for you guys to browse, drop me a PM if your interested : )
Name: Dean Fletcher
Callsign: B-273
Height: 6ft 9 after augmentations and without armour.
Planet/ city of birth: New Alexandria
Physical description: Dean, like any spartan three, is absolutely shredded. That aside he is actually one of the shorter of his kind and would have doubtlessly been rather small if not for his induction into the spartan three program. His hair is such a dark shade of brown that it may as well have been black but is kept shaven incredibly short in keeping with his career in the military. That being said he does insist upon maintaining a short but thick beard, much to the chagrin of his superiors. He could be considered fairly attractive if your into the whole hairy dad thing but other than he isn’t going to be winning any beauty competitions, his skin pale due to countless hours at a time spent in his armour and his body marred by an assortment of scars and old wounds. His eyes were once green but after his augmentations they have remained a dark grey, an unexpected side effect of the chemical cocktail (Just a heads up that I’m not just pulling that out of the air, it seems that this is possible with spartan three’s as seen in the trailer in which Carter’s eyes become blue).
Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Rank: Commander.
Armour: Up armoured Pilot helmet with command uplink module and gold visor, right shoulder security (With a tomahawk instead of the Kukri), left shoulder commando, UA multi-threat (W) chest, tactical UGPS on wrist, tactical trauma kit and FJ/PARA knee guards. Primarily painted brown with rust highlights.
Standard weaponry: DMR, magnum sidearm, tomahawk, combat knife, a multitude of grenades and a spartan laser that he has a particular fondness for, going as far as to paint it in a style reminiscent of WW2 allied fighter planes.
Specialization (If any): Anti vehicle and heavy weapons specialist.
Armour ability: Armour lock.
Personality: “The Covenant blew a hole in my family, I’ve been blowing holes in theirs ever since.”
The first feature of Dean’s personality that makes him stand out amongst the commonly sociopathic spartan three’s is that he comes across as easy going and approachable (As approachable as a spartan can be that is) making him an ideal spartan for interacting with the public where necessary. He genuinely cares about the lives of both those he’s fighting for and those he’s fighting beside, often putting the needs of others before his own. That being said he was selected for the augmentation process for a reason and through a combination of his incredible resolve and grit he has managed to garner the respect of many of his fellow soldiers.
History: Born in New Alexandria, 2533 to Mr(redacted) Fletcher and Mrs(redacted). Dean lived a fairly normal life in the crown of Reach until his mother was killed by the covenant attacking New Harmony where she and the rest of the Fletcher family had been visiting friends. Soon after returning home to Reach Mr (redacted) committed suicide, unable to cope with the loss of his wife. This left Dean completely alone in the world and a prime candidate to be snapped up by ONI so that he could be inducted into the spartan three program. He joined up willingly, determined to ensure that he was doing all he could to stop the Covenant from tearing apart any more families. Despite fears that a few complications during the augmentation process would render him unfit for duty he overcame them and was soon well on his way to becoming an exemplary weapon for the UNSC. His abilities shined when it came to leading others into battle and this, combined with a knack for blowing things up, led to him being removed from the general pool of Beta company before operation Torpedo. He was instead utilized by ONI in several small scale battles before being instated as the leader of Fireteam Cryptic.
