Venkman: The Western Graveyard, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)
"What the hell does this rat want with this place anyway?" Venkman asked
"Is it not obvious? It is scattered with technology. With some basic repairs..."
"One of these ships could be flyable." Venkman muttered "Well, shit."

One of the larger dreadnoughts he'd seen would be ideal for anyone wanting to conquer parts of the planet, and if the stranger on the road was telling the truth about the infestation they could easily drop rats into cities.
"We have to go South." He told the half-Vampire "You're right, three people couldn't hope to stop this thing but...If we gather up a couple of Mages, that might do the trick."
He started to walk towards the bike "We were heading that way anyway. Just means We'll have to be quick about it."

Aria leaned back in her chair and gave Victor and Headhunter a grim smile.
"So you'll work off your share of the trip. Once you've dealt with whatever it is in New Metropolis, I need you back here working for me. Oh, and don't even think about running. You owe me."

She turned her head "Harley."
"Oh right, got it here."

She handed Aria a tablet and the Asari activated her omni-tool.
"Done."
She nodded to two of her guards "Show them out."
"I hope we see each other again."
"Maybe I'll pass through here on my way back." Harley smiled "I never got to dance. Need ta focus."

The Vampire pulled back when Imperial grabbed her, glaring into his eyes. Douglas watched from the bar, rolling his eyes but keeping his attention fixed on the two.
She shot him a smile.
"Well, duckling...You've got my attention. I'm not sure what you mean about two minds, but..."
She leaned in closer, whispering into Imperial's ear "I do know something I didn't tell the human."

Karla: Mos Eisley, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)

"They've got tech, but it's primitive." Ilka said "At least compared to what some of this planet has to offer. Flamethrowers that spew out green flames, hand-cranked gatling guns, single-shot sniper muskets that require a team to operate... I'm sure there's more to their tech. An army that size is bound to have heavy artillery and siege equipment but they've kept it deep underground so I can't be sure."
"Now, as for magic..." She looked over at King "They seem to use some kind solid version of pure chaos magic to improve equipment, mixing the arcane with technology."
She sighed
"Their knowledge on poisons and disease are...Well, they're rats. I wouldn't let one bite you as Lord know what they could be carrying. Some of them carry poisons too, and coat their weapons. So avoid their bombs, their teeth and their blades and you should stay healthy enough."

Under Gunther's instructions, Karla had remained quiet for most of Ilka's little talk.

"Baldie's right." Karla gave a sly grin "We're not expendable mercs. Hell, I wouldn't even just call us mercs. He and King may be weapons of mass destruction, but me..."
She stood upwards and two red, dragon-like wings sprouted from her back. Their colour of their scales was similar to Karla's dark red skin.
"I'm a force of nature, baby."

After a few moments of silence, Ilka spoke again.
"You probably won't need those. I have a transport waiting outside.

We're going to fly to the north."

"Peter, was it? From what we've gathered their main base is a mansion in the woods. It keeps changing location. Every time we get close it vanishes, appearing when it wants to, almost."

"Start talking, then." The Turian barked at Samus "What the hell were you trying to pull!?"

So tear down the system or try to battle it from within? Both choices were pretty bad, but one definitely more so than the other. Something the maid had said stuck with Alva though, that being organic juries being notoriously biased against synthetic beings. She smiled at Torgo.
"That soldier is human." She said "I know she might look and even talk a bit like an Automated American, but..."

Yeah, the Maid wasn't going to believe her. She was still somehow convinced she was Alva's babysitter by the looks of things.
"I can feel the heartbeat of living things. She's got a heartbeat, a strong one. You're saying we don't have a chance due to bias against synthetics, but she's not a synthetic."
"Maybe we can even use her military record?" Oliver suggested "If she's decorated it'll work in her favour. Not sure where we'd find it, but it's worth a look I guess."

She looked at Torgo and started to walk towards the scene currently unfolding, gesturing for the Maid to follow her.

The sounds of fighting could be heard further down in the sewer as an armoured stranger battled with aliens carrying primitive weapons. They had a child near them as well. Were they a member of the town guard? Another traveller who'd stumbled upon the kidnapped children by chance? It didn't really matter.
Even if they were putting up a fight, Steve didn't want to risk he children getting caught in the crossfire.

The aliens had to be separated. The Nameless One charged in, while Ulfri used what appeared to be fire breath. Steve did a double take of her ability but asking the woman just how she breathed actual fire would have to wait

Having to fight on two sides, the Orcs began to separate. A few were still focused on the stranger but the majority were now focused on the three newcomers.
tenor.gif

Activating both of his gauntlets, Rodgers charged in and knocked down an Orc with a firm kick to the stomach, piercing the skin of another's shoulder and knocking him into the waters of the sewer.

He eyed the stranger on the other side of the Orcs, giving him a firm nod as if to show him they were on the same side and blocked the swing of an Orc's sword.

After seeing what the receptionist looks like, CJ drops his jaw, surprised. He can't believe that a reptile is talking to him and the reptile's voice is somewhat feminine. CJ doesn't even take drugs like cocaine or crack and he is really sure that a reptile is talking to him. He rubbed his eyes for a moment to make sure this wasn't real and after he stop rubbing, the reptile is still there.

"Uhhh..." CJ scratched his head as he looks at the female Krogan from head to toe.

"No offense but what the fuck are you? I'm not takin' drugs but damn! A reptile can talk! Shi'.. sorry from mah words but lemme' ask you somethin', miss. Am I dreamin' right now?" CJ asked the female Krogan if he is currently dreaming right now.

Gen Nishiyama, Gladius-II, Brymore Crossing, Sword Coast, Certh

Seeing the newcomers appear, Gen was briefly distracted. The assurances of the swordsman- maybe a native of the land- and the American relieved his concerns. As an orc's axe arm came down, he smacked it aside, grabbing it and twisting the orc's arm to avoid the attack. He quickly slammed the pommel of his sword straight into the base of the creature's ribcage, sending it sprawling as a hideous bruise already started to form. Once again, he drove his sword into the ground, jumping off the pommel with a flip. He inhaled deeply as the strange music filled the chamber again, his hands and feet glowing as he brought an axe kick down on an orc's head, leaving a glowing footprint. As the orc fell over, he ducked under an axe swing, striking it several times below the ribcage with the crane beak. Finally, the other two remaining orcs charged. Gen swung out with a side kick, which the orc on the right handily dodged as the one on the left brought an axe down toward him. Slamming the raised foot down, leaving a glowing footprint, he struck the orc across the head with the back foot, tripping it with the other leg and sending it to the floor with another glowing footprint on its face. As the final orc facing him continued its assault, he stepped backward, weaving around heavy axe swings and leaving glowing footprints across his path. As the orc grew angrier with its failure to strike him, Gen finally struck back with a kick to the orc's throat, leaving one final glowing footprint. As the orc flew back into a pile with its fellows that Gen had defeated, he stood with his feet shoulder width apart and faced the pile of orcs in various states of consciousness. Bowing to his foes, he gave the traditional fist-to-palm salute of martial artists, shortly before the voice of the belt chimed in.

"Today, our future has changed."

ALCHEMIC FINISH: YANHUA JIE!

A spark flew from the belt, traveling along the trail of golden foot an handprints. As it passed through each one, fireworks shot out, lighting up the sewers and tormenting the orcs with their heat and light as the sparks drew closer. Soon, they reached the pile of orcs, where all the prints were glowing simultaneously. The conscious orcs looked on in dread as the firework explosions began, tossing the ones in the pile upwards, here, there, and everywhere as the fireworks sent them flying about. After a while, their comically smoking bodies fell to the ground, obviously quite beaten, bruised, and burned, but alive. They groaned out in pain as he stood once more, one of the orcs coughing up a cloud of ash.

Following this, he turned to the orcs facing the larger group, pulling his sword out of the ground and wordlessly advancing. A few of the remaining orcs began running off deeper into the sewers.

Jim was ready to punch the alien to the building by using his strength coming from the virus due to the fact that the alien admitted that the Covenant or whatever the alien's affiliation may be, have invaded Earth which Jim assumes that the Great Hunger is the post-alien invasion although the confusing part is that the alien said the invasion happened in 2552 which made Jim raised his eyebrows because last time he saw the date was the 1st of February, 2019, and the alien doesn't know anything about the Great Hunger and so as Jim.

"According to this man right here—" Jim looks at the man before shifting his attention back to the alien, "the Great Hunger caused the collapse of the civilization here."

Jim steps forward as he approach the alien, "I don't know if you are the Great Hunger or just a lost alien. I despise liars, you know?" Jim said as he clenched his fist, still, he is ready to transform to his infected self and punch the alien to the building using his superhuman strength coming from the virus.

Good thing his thirst for blood is temporarily gone because Sandrino recently got regenerated from the vodka he drank prior to this conversation with Jeanette.

Since I don't have a paycheck for twenty-eight years of combat experience before I arrived here, I figured it'd be nice to go shopping for something to help you all out against whatever the hell this 'Great Hunger' is." Samus answered with a flat, condescending tone. The flanging effect from the strange Birdlike alien sent a light chill down her spine. That only served to make her stand her ground without moving. She seemed oddly relaxed for a figure encased in a half-ton of steel. King: Mos Eisley, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)

Basically don't get hit and you won't get hurt, no fucking shit
, thought King, an irrepressible roll of his eyes hidden by his very handy shades, and a slight smile crept into his features as he remembered countless threats outmaneuvered, redirected, countered or even stopped before they could begin in earnest. Didn't sound like the rats were packing anything extraordinary at least. Of course, magic was all the same to him, so anything special about "pure chaos magic" didn't really register, while mixing technology and magic had been the lifeblood of his world. The numbers were still gonna be a bitch and a half to fully clear out no matter what, though, especially in what he expected to be a maze of tunnels where a collapse would likely be a terrible idea.

"Well then, sounds like we've got everything about as worked out as we're going to here", said the Turk to break the awkward silence that followed Karla unfurling her wings, clapping his hands over the table and getting back to his feet. He was choosing to ignore Red's attempt at a display for the sake of their professional relationship, though he couldn't help but shoot both Enforcer and Sir Dick a look. Gesturing for but a moment to himself he stepped aside and exchanged a few quick words with Barkeep, who was fairly used to these sorts of scenarios, before retrieving his coat and hat and returning to the group. "I'm sure we can settle what a complete wipeout will be worth on the go. Plain gold is fine for my pay, but I do have one request for my reward".

Fishing around his pockets, King held up a photograph for all to see. It was one that Chambers was already familiar with, not of a person or location, it was a photo of a motorcycle. A damn good one. For anyone that knew anything about bikes the beast pictured was a true beauty, a custom work with obvious time, money and skill in its make, something that would make almost any rider envious. "This here is Artemis, my one of a kind project supermoto, and you're gonna give me any and all information you can get on it. It's bound to draw attention and I want it back, sentimental value you understand". He was 100% serious.

  • The Dark Enforcer: Mos Eisley, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)

Steel Chambers simply noted the details that were given about these rat monsters. It didn’t sound very impressive; this mission was gonna be an easy pay-day as after all wiping out savage races was a time honored tradition. The only question of the matter would be how to smoke them all out. Did this require a personal touch where they all must be witnessed to die or would just finding a possible inert volcanic ridge below them and starting it back up be enough? All that the Dark Enforcer was sure of was that vermin were going to be exterminated.

This was also assured by the Dark Enforcer slightly moving his chair as Karla proceeded to unfurl a pair of wings. He returned the look that was given by King, as he took his beer and took another drink. "Senior Cheif Petty Officer Samus Hayes, Ess-Enn Zero-Zero-One-Three-Six, Six-One-Five-Seven-Niner, Sierra Hotel, Office of Naval Intelligence asset, Designation Zero-Zero-Seven. There's no use for that rifle, Sir." The Spartan said with a venomous undertone after reciting her credentials verbatim. She hated having to idenify herself; making the desire to put the fear of whatever god that alien guard believed in to certainty. Neverthelss, she level left her spot in the kiosk corner. "May I add, no longer with the UNSC. If you send them to me, there will be a problem."

Steve watched Gen's display, with the strange man remaining him of Thor during the firework display. Although a few of the aliens started to run away, a few remained, lying bruised and beaten by the group amongst a few bodies.
"Glad you're on our side." Steve said, offering Gen a handshake "Steve Rodgers."

"We should gather up the survivors. With numbers like these, they're bound to have a bigger operation so we need to learn what we can. If we charge in, or get cocky we'll get killed."

Nameless Mook: Sword Coast North (Certh, Gladius-II)
While many of the orcs were dispatched by spectacular means, many of whom went down by fire due to qi manipulation of breath or by the qi manipulation of the limb, the orc in which the Nameless Mook was dealing with was dealt with by more plain means. Through several motions of slashing down, slashing up, parrying the axe which the Sauronic Orc in question was using, and some thrusting stabs, the Orc eventually fell limp and collapsed into the sewage waters below. The former member of the Black Demon Sect was breathing heavily as he returned his sword back into his sheath. There was no longer a need for the blade at this moment.

Right now, he just needed to catch his breath and recover a bit from the exertion of this battle. Now getting into a more relaxed position the Nameless Mook glanced towards the spandex clad man and spoke, “It is my sincerest hope that, well, our actions here had helped you even if slightly.” Then his attention turned towards Steve Rogers, the Nameless Mook gave a quick nod. “It is most pressing to escort others out, who knows what pestilence shall linger if they are not escorted to better conditions.” And with that the Nameless Mook looked for the nearest individual that needed help.
"That was a fine show of skill, stranger." Ulfi said towards the stranger, who seems to be advancing further. She turns to face Steve "We should press on while they are on the retreat. We still got some people to rescue and if those creatures are retreating, they might be going for their prisoners." Ulfi said to Steve before move as well further towards the Orcs. The magic this stranger used was quite interesting. It wasn't like that used in Tamriel, possibly not even in all of Nirn. She moved with a pace to catch up with the stranger. Unlike Mook, Ulfi wasn't quite exhausted yet. She was still somewhat used to her adventures. She was also possible more experienced with the weapons she used.

"Let's get them... Hun... KAAL ZOOR!" Ulfi said, using Call of Valor. A few meters in front of her, which seems to be a ghost appeared. This 'ghost' is Hakon One-Eye. Hakon draws his battleaxe and charged the group of Orcs, shouting at them "Zun... HAAL VIIK!" using the Disarm Shout on them before swinging with his axe at the Orcs.

The alien also explained about the faction called the Covenant which Jim didn't care of. Jim decides to stop acting hostile towards the alien since both of them are just lost. Really lost. Jim can't even recognize Gotham anymore although there are some locations that is familiar to him like the East End.

Jim shift his attention to the man and asked,

"Is there any safezones here? I hardly recognized Gotham because of this Great Hunger you've mentioned."

Sandrino Imperial
The Asylum, Seoul-Don

Sandrino saw Douglas went out after the man confronts the mortal human and his daughter but what's surprising is that Sandrino cannot sense the daughter, only the man. Anyway, after Douglas left the club to have a conversation with the mortal human. Jeanette finally spills the information to Sandrino as she leaned closer to her. She said about the Banshee although Sandrino doesn't know if "the Banshee" is a person or an object. Sandrino hopes that the werewolf knows about what Jeanette is saying.

"Well, thank you, beautiful. I assure you, we.. I'll see you again." Sandrino winks at Jeanette. He went to the exit afterwards.

[—OUTSIDE THE ASYLUM—]

Sandrino approach Douglas and pats him on the shoulder.

"Hey. Jeanette said, it's the Banshee. You know anything about the Banshee?" Sandrino asked him.

Moments later after Sandrino asked Douglas about the Banshee, he turned to Chuck and his daughter Katey.

"Hello." Sandrino said in a serious tone as he eyes the mortal human from head to toe. (Sandrino right now is in his human form/normal form).

Then again, Sandrino was confused as to why he can't sense the child. He takes a look at it until he realized it's a doll.

"What the fuck.." Sandrino said it on the back of his mind. Now he knows why he can't sense the child because it's a doll. A literal doll. Sandrino has nothing to say because he is the redeemed one and knows his limits. If he was the evil Sandrino or the dark one right now, he'll criticize the mortal that the child or his daughter is a doll and the mortal human is one insane individual.

"Thanks." She said, walking further down the halls of the asylum. Doors to the various wings were open, some of them missing altogether as they had been torn off during the fighting that took place in the invasion. The outline of a person was against one of the walls, etched into the stone as a permanent shadow. Jolie had only seen the likes of it twice before.
The first, in photographs of the nuclear shadows seen in the aftermath of Hiroshima and the second being in another place The Great Hunger had struck. This person had been consumed by it in the fighting.

Resting her hand on the shadow, she took a breath and shut her eyes. Nothing
"Just an after-image." She said "Oh, and Marcus."

She turned to face her new companion, pointing a finger at him.
"Never refer to yourself as a Terminator. That's what those machines tried to make you but that's not who you are."

She stopped, hearing the sound of something striking the floor beneath them with her Vamperic senses.
"I just heard something. I'm not sure if we're alone here."

TORGO - GLADIUS I, CITADEL, THE PRESIDIUM

If Torgo had the emotional capacity to feel genuine amusement, the (pending) Master's new-age hippie bullshit about being able to sense the hearts of living things may have brought a chuckle. Instead, it just became another reference point further enforcing the criminal nature of the mechanoid.

"Torgo feels she should inform you, (pending) Master, that the construction of reverse cyborgs is illegal in all Pan-Pacific Charter member nations and at least seventeen independent governing bodies. Torgo would advise the (pending) Master to keep this under wraps for the time being, as it may hurt the android's case."

As they arrived, the (pending) Master decided to put herself in the line of fire, a clearly irrational choice considering she was distinctly squishy and any bullets fired through her would likely overpenetrate, providing the far larger mechanoid with negligible cover. Meanwhile, the mechanoid rattled off a military rank, model, and serial number- likely decommissioned due to defects- and further identified itself as a rogue asset.

The (pending) Master was really busting Torgo's roballs, here. Stepping in front of the (pending) Master, who was in turn in front of the mechanoid, Torgo splayed out her arms and spoke as well.

"Not so fast, chief. This decommissioned android might be a surly piece of scrap, but he's also the private property of Torgo's (pending) Master. That means if you want to get to him, you'll have to metaphorically go through Torgo. In the legal sense of the phrase. In a court of law. Because Torgo is also a lawyer."

"No. They believe that the universe is alive and sentient. We believe that while the universe breathes and produces life and shelter from the Great Hunger, all life was put here by the Blue God. He will guide us in the days when the hunger returns and Gladius shall expand."

He'd heard stranger theories.
"Alright."
Pressing down on the disc, a blue holographic image was displayed of a bipedal rat.

The ship's interior was a bit cluttered, but there was more than enough room for the group to move around. Harleen headed for the cockpit first, coming face to face with the pilot:
A Jawa. He proceeded to speak in a strange, high-pitched voice that Harley couldn't even hope to understand but she nodded along, pretending to understand the alien's nonsense language.
He shook his head, pressing something on the side of his neck.
"Howdy. I'm Clepty, and you've been pretending to understand me for the past minute or two."
"What? No!" Harley scoffed "You were going over in-flight safety."
"Lucky guess." He shook his head "Aria's already briefed me, but I have to ask..."

He stood up from the adjusted pilot's seat and looked up at Harley.
"Why do you want to go to New Metropolis? I'm still getting paid either way, but why would anyone want to go to this planet? I'm curious."
Harley crouched down so that her eyes met that of the Jawa and smiled.
"None of ya business."
"Was just curious. You didn't have to be rude."

He looked to Victor and Headhunter as they entered the ship, waving at them. For a brief moment he started to speak in the incoherent alien language before forgetting about the device on his neck.

"Nutbar? Nah, mate." Douglas shook his head. He'd never heard the word before, but could assume it meant some kind of crazy person. He kept his hands in his trouser pockets, staring the newcomer down. There was something off about his daughter, and it took him a moment to put his mind on it. She wasn't breathing. In fact, she didn't even move at all, even blinking.
Now, he knew plenty of beings who didn't have to do either but they at least had a scent. His daughter was living or undead, she was inanimate. Part of Douglas wanted to call the newcomer out, but two possibilities ran through his mind and stopped him.
Either the man was insane, believing the doll to be his daughter or she had been alive at one stage. Perhaps a witch had placed a curse on her? He had seen it before, in the Trap Streets.

A witch could make him appear human to everyone aside from Imperial, and that was the tip of the iceberg. He still wondered as to how Imperial had seen through him. Perhaps it was a power unique to the Vampires of Imperial's universe, or there was even the chance the spell had worked but only as it was cast, meaning that any newcomer supernatural beings could identify him as a wolf. He really hoped it was the former.

Before Douglas could question the man further, Imperial arrived and mentioned The Banshee.
"Feck." Douglas shook his head. "Are you sure that's what she said?"
He looked back over at Chuck. Letting a potential madman human wander the Trap Streets would just end with either himself or someone else killed, so he couldn't just run off with Imperial.
"Maybe I can help. With your kid, I mean."

He wore a smile, but deep down he was already cursing at himself.

"Are you sure about that?" The Turian asked Samus "You were just trying to hack us."
"I'll run her details through the GDF." The other officer said "They keep a record of all past staff members, just in case they arrive to Gladius. The UNSC records are no different." He told the group
-
All Alva could do was roll her eyes at the Maid's words, but she held her tongue. It wasn't like somebody not believing her in regards to her powers was anything new, and the situation was tense enough as it was. She didn't need to start a shouting match with an android.
"You know...Nevermind." She sighed "Just...Please put the gun down." She repeated, looking into the Turian's eyes.

"This is a waste of time." Geala whispered inside of Alva's mind "One word, and we could turn the green on this station of metal against them. It would be easy."
Alva shook her head.
"There is too much at stake, child. We have a duty." She continued "This metal abomination bores me, and I know you feel the same. The way it talks down to you, the way it does not listen. Tearing it in half is something you've thought about already. You cannot hide that."
Alva shut her eyes tightly, trying to shut out Geala's words
"It isn't alive. Anything it feels is a construct. Just do it. Tear it in half so that we can get on with our mission. Push these brutes aside so that we can get off this station. The ageless human and the tiger will follow. The rest do not matter. Why should they?"

The two officers looked at Torgo as she stepped in front of Alva.
"Android?" The Turian asked "Alright, scan her." He nodded at Samus "We need to be sure of everything."
He looked to Alva next "The slavery of conscious synthetics has been illegal on the Citadel ever since the Second Gladius treaty. If what this Maid is saying is true, then you're looking at spending the next few years of your life in prison."
Alva's jaw dropped
"However, if the android isn't self-aware then you're guilty of it's crimes. It will be taken for scrap or reprogrammed while you'll be done for trying to hack military data. Both are serious offences, but thankfully for you neither carry the death penalty."

"Do it now, child. This machine is going to get us both killed, or cut off from nature as these brutes launch us into the cold vacuum of space. Trapped in a cold prison and waiting to die. Do you remember what happened the last time you were cut off from all nature? Imagine that but for decades. You will want to die. But won't be able to. Tear it apart, tear it apart now!"

Alva clenched her fists tightly.
"No." She whispered "I won't do it."

"Now hold on just a damn minute!" Oliver stepped in "My friend here hasn't done anything wrong! In fact. This robot maid here is guilty..." He was cut off as the second officer activated his omni-tool.
"I'm getting readings of human DNA, but...There's something unusual. It is as if it's been enhanced."
He turned towards his superior "Sir, cross-referencing the codes she gave us, with the strange DNA. I think we're looking at a Spartan."
The Turian's eyes widened and he slowly started to lower his rifle, but did not put it down altogether.

"Well, shit."

"It's okay." He said, softly "We're here to get you back to your mother."
After a few moments, she took his hand and Steve got a look at her injuries. Some bruising on her hands and knees, but there was nothing severe that Steve could tell. He knew that internally, things could be very different.

Two Elven women with almost gold-like skin had been talking with a Hanar before seeing Alfred and a few Trill were present as well.

Within mere moments, Alfred was approached by someone carrying a towel. While they appeared to be human at a glance, there was something off about them. Their smile almost boarded on uncanny valley territory, and then there was the eyes:
