Are you ready for the tour of a lifetime?

Beginning Setting:
Current date (May 2020)
Seattle, Washington, USA

Orphic's manager procured a mansion for them to throw a party the night before the first show they're to perform with Suddenly Wonderland.

Suddenly Wonderland has just arrived in Washington today, and heard about the mansion party. They decide to attend, not knowing the party is thrown by the band they're feuding with.

All the money in the world.

If he had all the money in the world, he would literally pay to not have to attend a party again. Parties were so outside his comfort zone, it occupied another zip code. Unfortunately, right now, it came with the territory of being in a band striving with its heart and soul to make the big time. At least he could attempt to stay out of the way, until their manager decided the band members need to do some press kit or photo shoot.

Oh, when he had to, Colby could manage. He'd wear his best mask, the one with a sideways smirk showcasing the dimple on the right side of his face. Blue eyes would be a little more open, showing just enough interest in what was going on. His normally gravelly voice sounded a little more enthusiastic, overall giving him an 'engaged in the moment' demeanor. Colby tended to use such a mask for most press moments and other occasions when the band members were performing for the press, not their fans.

Until then, Colby was going to linger in the kitchen. Maybe for a half hour, then he'd likely go exploring some of the other rooms in the mansion. Don't take it wrong, the mansion was pretty cool, it had some beautiful architecture. He had already taken mental notes of a few things he might like to doodle, had a small sketchbook and pen on his person for that exact reason. However, he only recently arrived and usually needed a little while to settle in, get a feel for the vibe of the night, all that jazz.

Colby sipped from the cold bottle of water, leaning against the edge of the counter. He attempted to pick a spot where he wouldn't be in the way. Hell, he hadn't even located where the food or snakes were. Parties were different, but they all at least had some snacks. Somewhere. Maybe when he spotted other members of Orphic, they'd go launch a find the food follow the leader thing. Still, if he could avoid parties, he would. He so would.

All the money in the world.

Nicolette Sampson
Nico had never been able to explain it, but she was definitely a party girl. Maybe it had to do with the fact that parties meant throbbing bass, and bass meant she got to play whatever riff she wanted. Maybe it had to do with the fact that if you trashed whatever venue you were in, it was okay, because that's what parties are for!

So naturally, when Jay had gotten them this mansion, she was not opposed to the party in the least. The party stood for something she wasn't necessarily a fan of, but she couldn't resist the twitching in her fingers that said she was ready to pluck out a party-worthy bassline. Before the party even got out of hand (which was pretty early, to her utter delight), she was plucking out riffs that would've made her crimson-haired guitar angel proud.

She became so lost in the riffs and the party, Nico completely lost track of everyone else. Had Suddenly Wonderland even showed up? Where was the rest of Orphic? Then she thought: Who cares? So long as she was having fun and would at least be able to smile about something for the next two months, that was all she needed from tonight.

Ivy Cross
Nothing could perk Ivy up more like when she heard about a party. No, wait, that was a lie. Her most favorite thing was being on the stage and getting lost in the tones she and her bandmates were playing, filling the air with it. It was so contagious and the audience has also made sure to let the Orphic know how they felt.

And then there were parties. Ivy was nothing if not life of the party. Or maybe only she thought so. But it definitely spoke to her. The thing was that once she entered that crowd, bodies dancing close to each other, air soaked in smoke of cigarettes and blunts, people excited, cheerful, drunk and high. Exactly Ivy’s crowd. And it was how she felt tonight as well. Ever since their manager Jay mentioned it, Ivy was on board. And now she was hurrying down the stairs with a wide grin on her face.

Entering the kitchen, she noticed Colby. She was on her way to get a drink. “Hey, Colby, hiding here?” she grinned and bumped his arm. The party was stocked as it should be. All kinds of liquor on the table, stronger, weaker, sweet, bitter, smooth, comforting any taste and any consumer. Ivy browsed the labels for a while before she spotted the right one. Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon. Her poison and favorite drink. She got herself a generous portion and after taking the first gulp, she turned back to Colby. The taste of bourbon was burning her mouth in a very pleasant way and it was leaving a tingling sensation as she swallowed. “Where’s everyone?” she asked the boy and set her cup on the counter just to take the very first cigarette of the evening out. Her finger flicked over her zippo lighter and she took a deep drag from the menthol Marlboro.

Colby looked like he always did at a party. Kind of out of his element. Ivy found him kind of adorable, not that she would say it to him. “Wanna go hunt for some snacks?” she asked him and didn’t bother offering a smoke. There would be no need. She enjoyed her cancer stick alone and while waiting for his answer, she managed to almost finish it. These things were really no problem anymore.

Aside from the 'press mask', the dimple on the right side did make a genuine appearance now and then. Like when Ivy came over and greeted him. "Hey, Ivy. You know it." He lifted his bottle of water in a toast of sorts, eyebrows briefly raised. He sipped as he watched Ivy sort through the booze. Colby's been with the band less than a year, but he's grown slightly accustomed to seeing the others drinking, smoking, getting high, and so on.

He's never indulged, but also never held judgement really. Everyone had their own thing they did to just get through the darker moments. Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue, you know? "Not sure. Probably out in the throng of people, somewhere. It's a big ass mansion. Like.. how would you even make use of a place this big outside parties?" He gave a low laugh with a small shake of his head.

Now, when Ivy suggested they go hunt down the snacks, the grin grew wider. He only had the dimple on the right side, though. "Yeah. This place will likely have killer snacks." Colby stood up out of the lean against the counter and held out one hand toward Ivy. "You lead, m'lady." Ivy was nice, something inside him felt almost like he needed to protect her. Not quite a big brother vibe, just, it felt like she was lost and didn't know it yet.

Then again, who isn't lost and just doesn't know it yet?

Jay Cole
C6tUKlp.jpg
As Jay made his rounds at the party, he wasn't all the way present. He couldn't help but be constantly concerned about the state of the venue. He had pulled some serious strings to get this place for Orphic’s party, and he had promised the owner that no harm would come to the place. The way he handled this party, would either hurt or help his credibility with some very important people. And, even though he knew how the band's parties had gone in the past, he had taken all of the necessary precautions to make sure this mansion wouldn’t end up a complete mess after. He had even spoken with the band prior to the party and begged them to not let this party get out of hand.

Even though the party hadn’t been going on long, it was in full swing. The place was already filled with people and everyone was having a good time. The band had done all of the press that he had set up earlier in the night, and hadn’t seen any of them since, probably because the place was so big. He decided to go look for them and make sure they were good. The first band member he came across was Colby.

When he got to the kitchen, things were more relaxed and mellow there than the other parts of the house. There were less people, probably because the food that he had gotten catered, was already almost gone. When he saw Colby, he was undecided as to whether to go and speak to the guy. While Colby was an excellent drummer and had been with the band just short of a year, Jay still wasn’t too comfortable with the guy. Not that it was any fault of Colby’s, Jay was just very weary of letting anyone into the family that the band had become to him.

Jay opted for a wave and subsequent thumbs up directed at Colby from across the room before heading out to find the other band members. He figured with the tour starting, he would have plenty of time to get to know Colby later. It took almost no time for Jay to find another band member. A smile grew on his face when he saw Nico. But before he could push his way through the crowd and get to her, his phone rang. He thought about ignoring it, but when he saw the name on the screen, he realized it was the head of the security he had hired for the party.

He gave one last look in Nico’s direction, before turning to find a quieter place to take the call. As he looked around and moved as quickly as he could through the crowd, he spotted the door to the back patio of the massive house. He quickly stepped outside and answered the phone. The call was short because as soon as the security guy explained the situation, Jay knew he had to head to the front door. “I will be right there.” he said firmly before ending the call.

Jay quickly headed back inside and toward the front door. The security guy working the door had told him that some members of Suddenly Wonderland had arrived. On his way to deal with the situation, Jay couldn’t help but wonder why they were there. Granted, Orphic would have to deal with them during the tour, but he didn’t think he would have to worry about that tonight. Had they come to make peace or cause problems? Jay had no idea, and he couldn’t wait to find out.

AVERY HOWARD.
6H6V84C.jpg

Parties were certainly not Avery's thing. Each party was the same to her, a crowd of loud, rowdy, drunks. She'd rather use her time wisely, working and making calls to the press or other important connections. Still, as a manager it was her job to take advantage of anything the band did, and Avery was damn good at her job. Parties were good photo opportunities, they showed the world that their favorite band was fun. She'd make sure that any reporting of this party would make anyone who's anyone want to be there.

As she finished getting ready, Avery checked her phone one last time to make sure she hadn't missed anything. She was always on edge, looking out for any business opportunity possible. Seeing as she hadn't missed anything, she decided to text the members of the band before she left. Although she wanted them to have fun, she didn't want them to have too much fun and get out of control.

"Alright everyone! Have fun, but don't go too crazy tonight. I don't want to see any major scandals," she texted, "And if anyone needs a ride later, I won't be drinking. Please don't go getting in any accidents, I absolutely do not need any of that press. Thank you!" And with that, she headed out to the party.

Avery drove by the mansion and saw that the party was already going hard. "God. I so do not want to be here," she muttered to herself as she parked, staying put for a moment and mentally preparing herself for the utter madness she knew she'd be walking into. She took a breath, got out of the car, and walked inside. Hopefully this wouldn't turn out to be a disaster.

Lissa
Lead Singer, Band 2
Parties were not offstage Lissa's favorite thing. In fact, the pink-haired pixie was quite shy, although if you'd only seen her onstage persona you would never guess that. Still being fairly new to the performance side of things, it had still come as quite the shock when she grabbed that first microphone and that loud, boisterous greeting had erupted from her chest. Being onstage seriously changed Lissa, and not in a bad way at all. Part of her wished she had that onstage confidence all the time, but down in her core was the shy, reserved girl that had spent most of her life writing lyrics she'd never expected to share.

Currently, Lissa had a red solo cup in her hands. It was a mixed drink, heavy on the coke, because she wasn't the type to get trashed. In fact, she'd been following someone around for at least a good twenty minutes, straightening things up behind him, as he was quite intoxicated and kept knocking things over or grabbing them for support and almost breaking them. Really, he was going to give her an an aneurysm.

When he finally collapsed on the couch, she breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at her own hand, she realized that she'd lost her drink somewhere. "Well, fuck." Throwing up her hands in exasperation, she turned around and looked for it, though she wouldn't drink it now. She'd heard too many horror stories about girls getting drugged at parties like this, and she had to remind herself that she was semi-famous now. People got stupid around celebrities, and band parties weren't known for being classy.

Not able to find it, she sighed and gave up. Backing up a few steps, she turned to go find someone she knew, but ended up running right into someones chest instead. "Oh god, I'm sorry!"

Ace
Crew Member, Band 1
Snapping a picture of the front of the house, Ace lowered his camera and stared at the place in awe. The young man found himself feeling that way alot, especially when it came to the nicer things in life. He knew he'd never live in a place as nice as this, but honestly, even if he did-- what the hell would he do with himself? Probably invite the entire band to just live with him, he mused, as he raised the camera to snap another photo. There were alot of people outside already, which meant the inside must be packed. It was the perfect party scene, and he hoped nothing happened to his camera.

Letting the camera hang around his neck, he turned to the other band members as they walked up to the door. They'd all gotten Avery's text about no scandals, and he knew the woman was serious. Not only about that, but about her job in general, which he quite admired. He couldn't imagine being the manager; sometimes it was tough enough just being the photographer/crew member. Though he mostly just took pictures and handled Suddenly Wonderland's social media, it could be alot.

"Everyone planning on having fun?" He grinned as he walked backwards, glancing over his shoulder every so often to make sure he didn't trip or walk into someone. Looking at the members once more, he lifted his camera again to snap a picture of them all. "You all look fantastic!" He sang as he snapped a few pictures before letting the camera fall again.

He reached the steps to the mansion and turned and ascend them, noting the security guard at the door. He stopped them and asked for their names, and with a sense of pure pride, Ace answered for them. "We are Suddenly Wonderland!" He paused, then gestured to the others. "Well, they are. I'm just crew." He grinned at the guy, realizing a second later that he didn't look impressed. He gestured for them to hold on, then turned and made a phone call.

Backing up to the others, he glanced at them again. "Uh oh."

Dani looked over her outfit in a full-length mirror trying to decide if it was good enough. After a moment she opted for adding a leather jacket to complete the look, slipping it on and grinning at her reflection. "Perfect," she purred before walking out of one of the mansion's many bathrooms and following the noise to the downstairs areas the party was being held at. Dani wasn't part of the band in the same sense as the others. She was just a crew member. She helped with choosing their outfits for press and concerts, worked with their outfit changes when they were performing, and sometimes assisted with hair and makeup when needed. Since she wasn't a performer that meant she wasn't as involved in the "beef" with Suddenly Wonderland like they were. In her mind, this tour would be a good thing for them and help get both names out even more. Plus, she was kinda looking forward to seeing a certain someone again. Though she wasn't sure how he'd feel once he realized she was with his rival band.

What definitely wouldn't be fun was how the rest of Orphic would react to her knowing him, let alone flirting with him. Not that she cared much. She was grown and so she could talk to whoever she wanted but that didn't mean they wouldn't give her shit for it. She made her way to the drinks and poured herself a cup of malibu and pineapple as her brown eyes scanned the room, seeing some of the bandmates scattered in different places. Eventually, they fell on the door where she easily recognized a few members of the other band trying to get through. Jay was walking towards the door too but rather than follow she remained in her spot to see if they would let the other band in. It was a party after all so why not mingle with your new tour family? Dani wouldn't say she loved drama but she was one for a decent party.

Beau Adams

Beau wasn’t really in the mood to go to a party, but Avery had told him it was a good opportunity for the band to get more exposure before their show. And of course he knew she was right. He would have thought the same thing back when he was handling the band's managerial needs. While he liked to argue with her and give his opinion, Beau trusted Avery’s instincts when it came to the industry.

Beau dragged his feet as they arrived at the party, not all that excited about getting in. He followed behind Ace slowly and waited behind as the photographer spoke to the door man. When Ace seemed to be having an issue with the door man, Beau walked up to help. “What’s the problem here?” he asked, looking the doorman up and down as he ended a phone call. The man explained that the band would need to wait before entering the party. And while it was slightly irritating, Beau didn’t want any problems and stepped aside to wait.

As they waited, a problem seemed to arise on its own, as Beau watched the security guard let in some other random people. He stepped back up to the man, who honestly wasn’t any bigger than him and cleared his throat. “So what are we waiting for? Because you just let in a group of people bigger than ours.” he said, cocking an eyebrow and waiting for the man's response.

Beau couldn’t keep his anger rising as he listened to the man say that he needed to make sure the band was allowed in. What did that mean? Of course the band should be allowed in. They were half of the biggest tour to hit the city in years. Beau stepped closer to the guard and looked inside. He could see there were no other guards near the door and got an idea that would not only get them inside, but would help them avoid a big scene.

He stepped closer to the guard and spoke to him in a hushed tone. It took a moment for the man to think about what Beau had said to him before he stepped away from the door. A smile filled Beau's face as he walked away from the door with the guard. He motioned to the band to go inside as he stepped around the side of the mansion with the man. Once they were out of sight of the rest of the party, Beau pulled out his wallet and gave the man all of the money he had taken from the bank earlier that day.

As the guard counted the money, Beau turned and walked back to the front of the house and toward the front door. He never turned around, but could hear the guard following slowly behind him. When he got inside and saw all of his friends inside as well, he decided to go look for a drink. He needed it after losing five hundred dollars in the last couple minutes. He had planned something important for that money, and losing it only made him feel guilty. He would surely have go back to the bank in the morning and take the same amount out of his account.

As he turned to head toward where he hoped the kitchen would be, Beau froze as he caught a glimpse of a familiar face. A smile reached his face as he headed over to the girl with the slightly pink hair. He had met Dani earlier that day when he stopped at the coffee shop near the bank. Normally, he was not one to have conversations with strangers, and usually blew off people who wanted to talk to him in public. On some occasions he would be nice and pose for pictures, but he wasn’t in that kind of mood when he met her. But this girl was different. She hadn’t let him ignore her, and after talking to her for a couple minutes, she had captured his interest and made an impression on him.

Unfortunately, he didn't have the time to stay and talk to her. And, he forgot to get her number before he left. He had left the coffee shop interested in knowing more about her, but not thinking he would see her again. “Hey.” he said as he arrived in front of the girl, “What are you doing here?” he asked. He couldn’t keep the smile off his face as he stood there. This had to be some kind of cosmic coincidence didn’t it?

Ivy Cross
Colby was great. At least in Ivy’s book. She was very okay with him even though he joined the band much later. He had that big brother aura around him and even though he wasn’t the go-to guy when she wanted to get drunk or high but he was definitely someone Ivy liked to hang with, talk about anything that came to mind or just…be quiet. Well, during those times Ivy usually talks his ear off but he never told her not to do it so…she did.

The best part about him was that he never judged her. For anything she did. Not that the others would but she could tell that Lissa was not really okay with Ivy’s way of life. And there have been a few times that Ivy was subtly indicated to slow down. But slow what down? All she did was have fun and enjoy the life of a rockstar. After all, that’s what they were, right? They earned it. Every single speck of fame and recognition was weighted up by hard work, tears and blood. So Ivy didn’t really see anything wrong with finally reap the fruits. Whether her way of doing it was right, that was questionable. And then again, it helped. A lot. It helped the most ever since…he left.

Whenever Ivy thought about Aiden, her heart sank. She loved the guy to the moon and back and he was there every time the world seemed bleak and not worth living. He always pulled her back, every single time she fell too deep. And now he was gone. And despite being in the biggest crowd, surrounded with people she loved and that loved her, Ivy has never felt so alone.

“M’lady, eh? I like that.” she chuckled and put out the cigarette she has just finished. With a grin, Ivy took Colby’s hand and intertwined their fingers. There was nothing romantic in the gesture, just two friends going snack-hunting. And she wanted to make sure she didn’t lose him on the way through the maze of bodies. Her drink was still in her other hand and she sipped it on the way.

“Oh, there!” she exclaimed and pointed at the table on the other side of the room, somewhat close to the door. What kind of placement was that? Like, whatever but it was still weird. “So what you’re in a mood for, love?” she turned to Colby. These endearments were nothing unusual. To Ivy, everyone was love, dear, darling, sweetheart, sweetcheeks… You name it. But before she managed to even have a proper look on the choice of snacks, something else caught her attention. “Look what the cat dragged in.” she muttered and downed her glass, worth at least five good shots, at once when her eyes fell on the members of Suddenly Wonderland coming in. “Do me a favor, Colby. Just keep me away from them, would you? Jay might not appreciate a scene.” she turned to the boy and knowing how she could get when provoked (or not), she took precautions while still somewhat sober.

Colby's dimple stayed out most of the way to the snacks. Even when they had to push through a crowd of others, already over saturated with spirits of the liquid kind. When Ivy commented, and downed her drink all at once, he glanced toward the door and saw the reason why. Cue dimple fading.

Now, he didn't have a problem personally with any of the other band, but there was some bad history between the two. Colby wasn't sure what were stories birthed by retaliation and blind emotion, and what was the truth. History is written by the victors, right? Though it didn't feel like there were any true victors in the feud so far, if ever.

"Grab what snacks you can fill on a plate, and we shall abscond with them post haste, m'lady!" Colby moved so his body was between Ivy and the door, doing his best to block the view. As soon as she had a plate nearly overflowing with snacks of all sizes and shapes, Colby started to guide her away from the front door and toward the back.

Along the way, someone backed up into him, one hand reaching out instinctively to help them steady themselves. "Quickly, m'lady! We must abscond away from this, for there be dragons here." Yeah, yeah, maybe he played some Dungeons and Dragons now and then in school. Shush, you.

One hand tracking Ivy by a light touch to the shoulder, Colby's other arm was extended for Lissa to take. "Come with us on our quest for nourishment! If we be quick of foot, we may find our freedom yet!" He thought maybe the back porch would be a good place, surely this big mansion had one of those. And eating in the night air might be just a little breather they all could use right about now.

Cedric Guthrie
Cedric had trudged through jet lag before, and sometimes, the best way to get a good night's sleep was to make yourself more tired, right? So when he heard about the party at some mansion thrown by Orphic, he thought, Why not? Sure, sure, it was Avery's idea, photo ops and all that blah-de-blah nonsense, but Cedric didn't play around when it came to looking for a good beat. Besides, he kinda wanted to see the other drummer guy and how they matched up.

As he got ready, his phone buzzed, and he read the text from Avery with a grin on his face. Such a good manager. He quickly texted back, Yes, Mom! I'll make sure to photo bomb a lot! Most of the time, Cedric avoided any publicity stunts, if only because he didn't want nagging from either of the 'rents later, but this was a party! Might as well let people snap a pic - he wasn't going to do anything too stupid! At least, not that he planned...

He left his hotel room and hailed a taxi, giving him the address. The ride wasn't too long, so he didn't feel the need to drum on the seats or anything, but when he saw the guard at the door and the rest of the band, he narrowed his eyes. Why wouldn't they be let in, when they were touring with those nards in Orphic? Wasn't it, like, a rule to let in anyone as famous as them? He was about to think about what either of his parents would say to that, but he didn't want to go down that path. It never led to anything good.

Instead, as he sauntered up to the door, the guard stepped back and let them in, and Cedric blinked. Had... Had that been him? Were his parents that famous? He really hoped this wasn't going to happen in every city - the last thing he needed was everybody kissing up to him just because of his stupid parents.

Spotting Ace, Cedric threw his arm around him and said, "Ace! Buddy! Let's go find something to drink! I'm feeling thirsty after that plane trip." It was time to raise some hell, now that the true party had arrived in the form of Suddenly Wonderland.

Dani had been sipping the fruity drink from her solo cup, her eyes scanning the other faces in the mansion when Beau's familiar voice sounded from beside her. She recognized it immediately and it caused a smile to flash across her glossed lips. When they had first met in the coffee shop, she thought it was a weird opportunity for her to get to know some of Orphic's rivals before the tour. After all, they would be spending a lot of time together. She hadn't been expecting to hit it off with him so well and in all honesty, she did really like him but she'd kept that she was a part of Orphic out of the conversation for a reason. She knew it would make him act weird or think she was just talking to him to throw him off. Dani didn't want to be judged so quickly as she had been in the past but she knew it was coming soon. She didn't have to mention it now though, right?

"Hey! What a coincidence. Almost like fate wants us to be together," she said jokingly, laughing so he knew she was only kidding. "Actually, um, my friends are kind of hosting..." she said with a shrug. It wasn't a lie, just stretching the truth a little bit. She took another sip from her drink and let her eyes find his. Of course, she knew they would end up crashing such a huge party, even if they didn't know they were crashing it just yet. That's why she hadn't bothered to leave him with her number when they met because she was well aware she'd be seeing him again. "How did you hear about the party?" she asked but before she could say much more someone was bumping into her causing her to drink to splash all over the floor, missing her shoes by inches. "Jesus. You almost ruined my shoes," she said after spinning around to see who had knocked into her.

Lizzie was the last one to arrive to the party out of her band, or at least from what she could tell. It wasn't because her hair had taken too long to do or that she'd gone through seven outfits before picking the right one. No. Lizzie was late, as usual, because she was napping. By the time she'd woken up everyone had already left and she found a note with the address to the party scribbled on it. She she pulled together something from her suitcase, threw her hair into a high ponytail and called for an uber. Before she knew it she was at the party which from the looks of it was already pretty packed. Thanking and tipping the driver, she stepped out of the care and waltzed up to the door.

Lucky for her she didn't have to deal with security like the others because he thought all of their band members had already gone ahead so she slipped right in, looking around for someone she knew. After some searching, she saw a familiar face and decided to go over. "Hey! Where is everyone else?" she said to Avery with a smile. Her eyes caught a few more faces she recognized and then they grew wide. "Wait...Avery. Who is hosting this party? Isn't that girl from Orphic?" she asked, pointing out Nicolette across the crowd. Maybe she was crazy but the bands mingling at a wild party and before there was a mediator present just screamed a bad idea. Then again, maybe some liquor would be helpful in the situation.

Was it that blatantly obvious that Lissa felt like she didn't belong? Most of her band members made her feel welcome, but she couldn't shake the feeling that crept into her subconscious at times. Nico hated her, that much was obvious, though Lissa had known that well before joining the band. Dani wasn't her biggest fan; Ivy would rather party. She felt safe around Colby, though she couldn't deny that she felt the best around Jay.

Biting her lip at the thought of him, she decided that now wasn't the time to think about that. Torn from her thoughts when she ran into someone, she was quick to turn and apologize, recognizing Colby on the other side of an extended arm. She grinned at him, hardly able to hear him above the music. "What?" She laughed as some of his words registered in her brain, but shook him off. "I'll catch up to you!"

With that promise, she turned and weaved her way through the crowd again. Someone called to her and she turned, spotting someone she didn't know coming up to her. They just wanted a conversation and an autograph, which she was happy to give. When she left that conversation, her throat was dry and needed a drink. Preferably just some water, but... she'd see.

After finding the drink table again, she was grateful to see some water in a pitcher. Pouring herself a cup, she turned back to the party and started through the throng of people again, only to be shoved into someone else. Her water sloshed over the girl she bumped into, and when she turned, obviously angry, it only took a few seconds for Lissa to recognize Dani.

Well, fuck.

"It's just water." Lissa tried to tell her, probably coming across as yelling although she just wanted to be heard over the music. Glancing beyond Dani, she recognized one of the members of their 'rival' band. Sliding her eyes back to Dani, she held her now empty cup in one hand, reaching for one of her necklaces as she spoke. "Am I interrupting?"

Ace
Crew Member, Band 1
Their knight in shining armor turned out to be their leader, and Ace grinned as they passed security into the house. A split second decision had him lifting his camera to snap a picture of the big beefy guy as he passed, snickering mostly to himself. The guard straightened and looked as though he wanted to come after Ace, but since Beau was still out there he grew distracted. Ace grinned to himself and quickly got lost in the crowd, just in case. Feeling someone sling their arm around his shoulders, he looked over to find Cedric.

"Ace! Buddy! Let's go find something to drink! I'm feeling thirsty after that plane trip."

Ace had to admit that the plane ride had sucked, and he was grateful that they were finishing the tour on their side of the United States. Truthfully, he was also grateful Cedric had found him. There were times where Ace still felt the pressure of his parents and his pre-band life hanging heavy on his shoulders. This had been a chance for him to break free, start over, but that pressure... it was killer.

He hadn't spoken to his parents in a long while. He thought about calling, but then always thought better of it. After a few months, they'd stopped reaching out to him, and he was glad when those voicemails and texts stopped. All of them had been along the same lines. Come home or else. Or else what? They'd already cut him off.

Shaking those thoughts from his mind, he grinned over at Cedric. "Lead the way, band-mate!"

Tristan Prescott
Tristan was excited. He was not really this great party boy even though his whole appearance might have suggested differently. After all, he was a rock star, right? People like him were supposed to party, get wasted more often than every now and then. Yet, Tris was just…Tris. Honestly, he was not this kind of guy before. His tattoos were almost brand new and he was still getting used to the new style of clothes he started to wear. Before, he was this preppy kid, if you remember this Blaine kid from Glee series, that used to be Tristan Prescott.

But tonight, he was getting excited, bouncy even. He was walking with his band members, friends, some of them more like a family to him. The situation at the door surprised him a bit and honestly, he was glad that Beau dealt with the security his way. Tris wasn’t really the kind of guy who would go and negotiate here.

Once inside, Tristan started to look around. They all knew they were supposed to be on their best behavior here. Not that Tris was some alleged bad boy or something, but once his feathers were ruffled, he could be a prick. And no one needed prickly Tristan tonight. No one needed any conflict tonight. The text from Avery had this serious tone that warned everyone about this and he wasn’t going to be the person to go against it. He ran his hand through his hair, making them even messier and entered the crowd.

For a moment, Tristan just lurked around, hands tuck in the pockets of his jeans and scanned the room. Most of the people were already tipsy, stumbling around the place, getting drunk or high or both. There were glassy eyes everywhere and he just chuckled, shaking his head. Tristan wasn’t one to do some hard drugs or anything, the most he ever did was smoke a pot. But anything else was just out of the picture for him.

As he was coming back from one of the random rooms, he noticed a flash of red. A goofy grin appeared on his face. “Lizzie!” he called out and tried to catch her attention. “Lizzie, hey!” he tried again, squeezing through the mass of bodies to reach his favorite bandmate. “I was starting to think you wouldn’t make it.” he grinned as he threw his arm around her shoulders and winked at Avery. “Hey, boss, didn’t see you there, my bad.” he chimed and turned his attention back to Lizzie. “Wanna go get some drink? It’s a party but it’s getting kinda boring, ya know.”

AVERY HOWARD.
Ms9sp50.jpg

Avery took in the party atmosphere around her. It was already pretty wild, a few of the attendees were stumbling around like drunk maniacs. She sighed to herself and stood to the side, unsure of what to do. She didn't want to get drunk or high, and she didn't want to dance. She didn't come here to make any friends either. That was the trouble with parties, Avery only ever attended to make sure things didn't get out of hand. She checked her phone, spotting a text from Cedric. She let out the tiniest laugh at his calling her mom. Although she didn't want to get to friendly with the band, her business partners, they could be kinda funny sometimes. She looked around to see if she saw any of them, as they should have arrived by now.

Avery looked up in time to see Lizzie approaching her. "Hey Lizzie. I'm not sure, but they should be around here somewhere," she replied to her greeting. When Lizzie pointed out that blonde girl she recognized from Orphic, Avery narrowed her eyes. "I think it is," she nodded, "I-" but before she could comment further she was cut off by Tristian trying to get Lizzie's attention. "Hey Tristian," she greeted when he noticed her. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Jay, the manager of Orphic. "Oh my god," she muttered under her breath. If that blond girl was here and so was Jay, then the whole band must be here. "You guys go have fun, but don't get too crazy. Oh and remind the others too," she added for extra measure. If all of Orphic was here then they'd all need the reminder.

Avery walked away from the pair and towards Jay. "Hey. Jay!" she said loudly enough to get his attention. "What are you doing here?"

Jay Cole

Jay couldn’t hide the frustration on his face as the door man told him that the members of Suddenly Wonderland were already inside. He stared at the man’s face for a moment unsure whether or not to say anything. He cut his eyes at the man as he turned away from him choosing not to say a word. Jay was not one for confrontation, so he would just take it up with the security company tomorrow. He pulled out his phone and sent a quick email to the owner of the company asking for a callback the next day.

As he put his phone in his pocket, he looked up and tried to scan the room in front of him for any members of the rival band. He didn’t see anyone, so he decided to move through the party and continue looking for them. As he made his way through the crowded rooms, he wondered what he would actually do if he found one of the members of Suddenly Wonderland. He wanted to tell them to leave, but that may not be the best thing for the tour. In order for the tour to work, the bands would have to get along and set the feud aside. But if he made the other band leave that might be like throwing gasoline on the fire of the feud.

While the tour was partly his doing, because he played a large part in getting it set up, Jay was never all that excited to be around the other band. The drama that had been in full swing since the last days of Orphic's old drummer, had gotten under his skin a bit. Whenever he read a comment or saw a video of the rival band saying bad things about his closest friends, it boiled his blood. Orphic was not only the band he managed, they were some of the most important people in the world to him. And he didn’t take kindly to them being attacked.

Jay was shocked out of his thoughts when he heard his name being shouted over the loud music. He looked around the room trying to see who was calling for him. When he finally laid eyes on Avery Howard he was a bit relieved. Better than running into a Suddenly Wonderland band member, he could speak to their manager. He walked toward her, helping close the distance between the two. When they were finally face to face he opened his mouth to speak, but she had spoken first.

“What am I doing here?” he repeated her question back to her in confusion. “This is Orphic’s party! What are you doing here?” he paused and looked around spotting the lead singer of Suddenly Wonderland speaking to his lead singer and crew member. Jay looked back at Avery, an eyebrow raised, “Suddenly Wonderland wasn’t invited, why are you all here?” He stepped back a bit and folded his arms, waiting for her answer.

Cedric Guthrie
Ace's can-do attitude was a welcome sight, so he grinned and pushed his way through the crowd to find something to drink. It wasn't long before he found the kitchen and some alcohol, grabbing a beer for himself and turning back to Ace. "Have you seen any of those Orphic weirdos yet? Thought I saw the bassist chick back in the living room." It seemed the various social medias he definitely didn't stalk occasionally checked were correct about Orphic throwing this party. Hopefully the rest of the band would be alright. He didn't want to get in a fight or anything tonight, but if he had to...

As that thought crossed his mind, he saw two girls with Beau elsewhere in the area. Ducking behind Ace and peeking over his shoulder all sneaky-like (because obviously that was going to hide him), he peered over his friend's shoulder with wide eyes. "Man, did Beau already find someone to hook up with? Why don't I have that level of game? Although it looks like those two girls are fighting... Wait." He squinted at the girls and realized one of them was pretty familiar. Recognizing the "ugh" feeling in his gut, he grimaced.

"Seems our guitarist found himself some trouble," he mused. "Ace, ready your camera - I might just wanna photo bomb this," he added with a grin as he took a swig of his beer.

Ivy Cross
Thank god for this boy as he was actually a blessing. As Colby’s body got between Ivy and her view at the door, she stopped seeing red for a while and made sure her plate had enough finger food for them both. Before she managed to refill her cup though, Colby already ushered her towards the back door. Surely, he embraced her plea responsibly. Though Ivy missed that little dimple on his cheek, it seemed to fade away.

Walking towards the porch, Ivy felt that her head started to buzz. Yeah, downing that entire cup might have been a mistake. Oh well, there was nothing to do about it now, was there? And not like she was not planning on indulging, it was party after all. And she was Ivy Cross. There was no one who wouldn’t expect her wasted once this was over. If she wasn’t…oh, that would be new.

Bumping into Lissa had her chuckling. “Hurry up, Lissy…before I run out of snacks!!!” she called after her with a laughter and hopped towards the back door with Colby. These events, apart from the fact that Suddenly Wonderland appeared there (fact that Ivy decided t do her best to ignore), always got her in good mood. Partying, dancing, drinking, good food, good company, yeah, she got used to this lifestyle pretty fast. Possibly because it was only very slightly different from the one Ivy led before the band. Before, the snacks were not so easy to get, that might have been the major difference.

Ivy walked out and fresh night air hit her face. She took a deep breath and exhaled theatrically before plopping down on the stairs. Chairs were just too overrated, stairs were the shit. Or something. “Come on, sit.” she smiled at Colby and tapped the place next to her. As he joined her, she kicked her legs up, laying them over his and balanced the plate on her bare shins so they both had access.

“This tour is gonna be…something else, isn’t it?” she spoke all of a sudden after swallowing a mouthful of some cookies. She had a massive sweet tooth and whatever was among the snacks, cookies and sweet pastries were always the most interesting shit for Ivy. Not that she didn’t eat anything else but if she could choose… Her mom used to call her Cookie Monster when she was little. The nickname always made her giggle but the blue hairy thing on TV terrified the living jesus out of the little girl.

Once she was done eating, her fingers slipped in her pockets, looking for her cigarette pack. But all she got out was a nicely rolled joint which she had spent solid twenty minutes working on before the party. She sucked at rolling these so much. But this one, it was her little work of art. A finger flicked over the zippo lighter again and Ivy brought her snack to life, took a deep hit, held it in and then disappeared in a thick cloud of smoke leaving her lips. “Damn, this shit is good.” she whispered and looked at Colby. “I’d offer some but I kinda think I know the answer already. Though…” she started and held her hand out towards him. “…if you wanted some…” The joint wiggled between her fingers, mere inches from Colby, and a crooked smile appeared on her face.

Colby Breckenridge

Tags Ivy _amaranth_ _amaranth_ | Back Porch Steps

Colby settled on the steps next to Ivy, and with a bemused half grin, kept one arm lightly around her legs to help hold them across his lap. The other hand went about picking out snacks when he needed something to munch on. He was watching what Ivy ate as well, making sure to hold out some of the more healthier snacks for her to eat in between all the sugar.

"It's going to be ... something. What that something is, remains to be seen." He chuckled a little, "I won't say it'll be drama free, but I'm going to try and make it more enjoyable than some episode of Survivor. At least for myself." The outdoor air and food helped foster a chatty atmosphere.

"I'd rather the memory of this tour be something I can look back on and smile, rather than regret." He had enough regrets, Colby would rather add very little to the already long list. Right now, this moment was something he could enjoy. A few minutes of quiet, in the outdoor air, with food and the company of a band mate was actually rather difficult to obtain as of late.

Everything felt so chaotic more often than not, with the pressure on all of their shoulders, drama that never had to reach the level it did, and everyone trying to deal with their own internal shit. It was hard, life was hard, but here they were, on the road toward something bigger than their individual selves. Colby would have to wait and see if it would be worth it in the end.

When Ivy offered up the joint, that dimple flashed again as he shook his head. "No, thank you. Think I'll stay away from the path of drugs, booze and sex. At least for a while longer." He chuckled, the hand helping hold her legs in place gave a little pat.

But the important question was, "How are you doing? With everything? I hope you know I'll try to help if you ever needed it." Colby wouldn't ever press, but liked to remind people he was there.

Beau Adams
5spF0S6.jpg
Beau couldn’t help the smile that came across his face when Dani mentioned fate. It was as if the girl was reading his thoughts. He was glad that he had run into her at the party, it made the loss of his money to the doorman hurt slightly less. At least he was bound to have a good time. When she mentioned her friends hosting the party, Beau couldn’t help but ask, “Oh yeah? So what kind of friends do you have that have a house like this?” He said it jokingly, but he was also a bit curious. He had never been to a party in a mansion like this, and he didn’t know anyone who could or would pay for a place like this.

Beau looked around the giant house. The inside was pristine and modern. He asked himself, who would be risky enough to throw this kind of party in a place this nice? “Our manager made us come.” he answered her question about how he heard about the party. He actually didn’t know how Avery knew about the party, so he made a mental note to ask her later. While he trusted the manager, he couldn’t help but want to know the details of what she did, even if it did irritate her.

Noticing the drink in Dani’s hand, Beau realized he still hadn’t gotten one. And while he was never a big drinker, he had found himself drinking on more occasions in the recent week. He knew it was stress related. Not only had he been dreading the upcoming tour, he had been dealing with some personal drama as well. The timing of the tour couldn’t have actually come at a worse time for him, but he had no choice but to fulfill his obligation to the band and the tour. When he pulled himself from his thoughts, he began to ask Dani where he could get a drink. But before the first word was out of his mouth, Dani’s attention was pulled away.

A girl at the party had spilled her drink on Dani. Beau watched the girls speak, and after a short moment it became clear that the two knew each other. The girl must be one of the friends that Dani said was throwing the party. He smiled ready to greet the girl, but his smile turned to a scowl in seconds. When the pink haired girl looked in his direction, Beau knew exactly who she was. It was the lead singer of Orphic. He had not been prepared to deal with any Orphic drama yet. He didn’t think he would have to see them until the next day.

Beau stared at the girl unsure what to say. Confusion and irritation began to build up when he put two and two together. Dani was friends with this girl, or at least knew her, and the girl was a part of Orphic. Beau had no idea what to think with the two girls standing in front of him. Had this been a set up or was this some kind of prank that he wasn’t understanding? He couldn't believe there was any way it was all a coincidence. “What is going on here?” he looked at Dani, unable to hide the confusion and anger in his face. “Are your 'friends' Orphic?” he said putting a bit of a sarcastic emphasis on the word friends.
