Dragon's Hoard
"Holy shit!" Lucas cried out loud in surprise as his efforts proved to be much more effective than he'd ever hoped. He'd half expected his attack to simply be deflected or perhaps simply punch straight through their opponents to no effect considering what they were facing, and yet here he was able to put multiple of them down. Perhaps he had overestimated their foe? Either way, Lucas couldn't help but feel overjoyed at this discovery. He could fight back. He wouldn't just be dead weight. He could be of use. His reverie was broken by the sudden charge of more of the undead, and he panicked for a moment as he quickly tried to bring himself back into the fight even as he cursed himself for letting his concentration lapse so much. Thankfully, Berserker was there besides him and he gave her a thankful nod, smiling at her words. It was nice to have a Servant around to keep you safe.
He moved back, allowing Raikou to take the front as Lucas relegated himself to ranged support, like he promised. He was extremely tempted to press into melee and see if his other abilities would be just as effective, but he had made a promise to Archer. Afterall, he really didn't have much of a right to complain when he could fight in this manner.
With Berserker taking the enemy's charge, the fight turned almost into a routine as he had all the time he needed to aim and fire. Find an opponent, breath in, breath out, focus, shoot. Almost like clockwork as he did what he could to thin out the horde, even as he listened to Archer's regular reports back. He was glad for the reports. It let him know that she was still safe, and it sounded like everything was going according to plan, at least from what brief words she gave him. "Keep it up, Archer, we're doing just fine out here. I have faith in you."
Lucas spared a glance back towards Lancer and Barr now too as Raikou mentions them. Spotting them both safe and sound, he shoots them both a wide grin and a thumbs up. Things really were going surprisingly smooth.
