Fallout

Cybear

Cyborg Ursine
Hello everyone, I am posting here because I am looking for a Fallout-based roleplay. I am a huge fan of the series, and have roleplayed in that world before. Those roleplays I have always found to be some of the most entertaining. I can roleplay at almost any time during the time-line, including just after the war of 2077 itself. Though I do have a preference to wait until at least the start of the games (2161-). This is only because it gives me a bit more of a concrete idea of the happenings on the Wastes. Similarly I am willing to roleplay in areas covered by the game, or create new areas in places in which the games haven't gone to. I am fairly flexible with plot concepts and ideas, as I prefer we brainstorm them together.

For Fallout I don't like playing canons, and prefer to play any of my OCs. My OCs are primarily my PCs in the game, altered to fit whatever setting they're placed in. Below I'll put a brief bio of each of my guys, so you might be able to get a better idea of them. I am also willing to create new OCs if the following don't work with whatever you had in mind.

Some quick facts about myself/my roleplaying habits:

  • I am not a new roleplayer. I have been roleplaying for about decade now. I have been on hiatus for quite awhile, so I may need some time to get back into the groove of roleplaying.
  • I prefer posts that count. Meaning that I'd rather you give me a short post that drives the thread forward, rather than a wall of text that serves as little more than fluff. That being said I do tend to favour medium-long posts myself. Though I will not post more than I need to.
  • I respect the fact that my partner has a life outside of roleplaying/online. Hopefully you can do the same for me.
  • I do not like pre-established pairings. (ie. The roleplay is formed around two characters getting together.) Personally romance does not need to be a factor in the story at all. Character chemistry is important to me, but that chemistry can be platonic, or even negative.
  • I don't like beating around the bush. I want to be honest with my writing partner. As such I will bring issues up if they pop up. Likewise my partner can bring up any concerns about the roleplay with myself.
  • I prefer not to play more than one major character. I can and will pick up NPCs when necessary.
  • I am a male myself, but I like to think that I can play both genders well. I will not dictate whichever gender you choose to play, as like I said, romance isn't necessarily even on the table. If, by some chance it does pop up, I am fine with all sexualities. As long as the (romantic) chemistry is there, I'm good.
  • I don't roleplay over IM. I prefer forums, but if you're really persuasive you might get me to do it over PM.

In terms of the characters that I am looking at playing:

Malcolm Diaz

  • Neutral karma.
  • Can fit under any mercenary setting (raiders/freelance/etc). He doesn't deal in flesh though, so no slavers.
  • He has a somewhat stoic personality, doing what needs to be done without question. He doesn't have a good sense of humour, and finds most humorous types to be irritating at best. If the pay is right he'll take just about anyone out. He does have some standards though, he won't hurt children, and he won't work for slavers. He's fairly gritty, but is a good fighter. He works best at range, preferring sniper rifles.

Madison "Mad" Diaz

  • Neutral karma.
  • Is most likely factionless, or working with some kind of raider gang.
  • Her nickname says it all. She's fairly psychotic and wily, doing things on a whim without much thought to what could happen. She's not nescessarily a bad person, as she does help people out on occasion. Her issue is her recklessness and care-free nature. She says things as they are, and is extremely blunt. That being said she is a good liar, and if the need be can wiggle her way out altercations. She prefers to use explosives, or heavy-weaponry.

Gavin Yeun

  • Very evil karma.
  • Factionless, or with some kind of slaver group.
  • Gavin is a bit of a particular character. When he was younger he was very kind, loving, and full of life. However he accidentally ended up killing his best friend and his mind couldn't cope with what he'd done. As a coping mechanism he developed a "second" personality, that believed that along with killing his friend he'd also killed 'Gavin'. He can have small flashes where his Gavin side comes out, and he frequently hallucinates that the "ghost" of Gavin is talking to him. He's brutal, cruel, and willing to kill anyone and everyone. He's also extremely intelligent, which can make him a formidable foe even off-field. He uses melee weapons, favouring a pair of Chinese officer swords.

Ripley McCoy

  • Very good karma.
  • Probably factionless. He could be with the Followers of the Apocalypse, or (and more likely) working at some kind of casino/brothel.
  • Ripley is a good guy, silver-tongued, and quite diplomatic when the need arises. He is quite the pacifist, and this can work against him. Despite his tongue being a weapon all on its own he's not very good with actual weaponry, making him more of a liability than anything else. He has a perfect memory, however when it comes to logic and figuring things out on his own he's pretty simple-minded and quite dumb. He's also very hedonistic and is very likely an escort/prostitute (he enjoys his job).

Levi Foster

  • Neutral-Good karma.
  • Likely working for a militant organization. The BoS is most likely, but he might also be with the Enclave/Enclave Remnants.
  • A soldier at heart, Levi is the man that follows orders no matter what, even at the cost of his own personal morals. Because of that people tend to see him as somewhat of a robot instead of a man. In truth he does have a lot of personal beliefs that make it hard for him to gun people down, or harass those he's ordered to. He tries very hard not to mix work in with his personal life, which is why some are surprised that he's actually someone who loves to smile and laugh when he's not on duty. He prefers to use energy weapons over everything else.
