End of Summer Concert

Akahana Shima

The Hooded Terror

The girl had just come to the concert to listen to some nice, loud, chaotic music. She got herself loaded on sweets, and ready to drown her brains out with music. What she did not guess, was a ghost attack. That was the weirdest thing of today. It totally, 100% topped the weird, backwards day she was having. She lost her socks, she had only chips to eat for breakfast, a bunch of stuff that honestly wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Ghost attack, beats everything. She watched quietly as the see-through figures of the undead haunted the night sky with a blank, unmoving expression. Ahaha.. Now wasn't this fun? Her thoughts were abuzz of the current scene.

'I wonder if they'll kill people'

'How bloody will the bodies be?'

'I hope they're really bloody..'

'Blood all over the floor!'

She looked around and quietly imagined everyone around her on the ground. Splayed out, bloody husks. The thought made her giggle, her placing a hand to her mouth. She was so entertained by the thought of everyone being dead on the floor, that she ought to piss herself from how happy she'd be if the ghosts actually killed people! That would be joyous! Amazing! Extravagant!

"Hehehehe..." She allowed out. Oh why was she holding back? There was so much fun! So many possibilities! So many bloody bodies!

BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD!

"Heeaahaha... HAHAHA... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!~" The young teen suddenly broke out in laughter. Arms outstretched, mouth wide open revealing her pearly whites, and a loud, blaring laugh. Her chest shook at how hard she laughed. So much chaos! So much fear! It was so adrenaline-inducing!

Thalia Travis

Thalia, running through the chaos, finally managed to hear the calls of her meister and she turned around to see that Kamryn was practically right next to her. It was such a surprise that Thalia nearly jumped back in fright of the loudness of Kamryn’s call for her. “There you are!” Thalia was quick to proclaim before hearing what her meister had to say.

Nodding along, Thalia said, “Agreed.” In agreement, Thalia agreed that they needed to do something and she also agreed that transforming was a good idea. Her body was suddenly consumed with a glowing emerald aura that seemed to spread throughout her entire body before it gradually altered shape. Spinning as it thinned and twisted, soon the light had assumed the same shape as Thalia’s weapon form - a boomerang. Spinning in the air, the light zapped forward before connecting with Kamryn’s open hand, the light fading and leaving Thalia’s weapon form in its wake.

Within her weapon space, Thalia nodded to Kamryn’s next statement. ‘Sounds good! If they don’t know what’s going on, then something’s very wrong,’ she chuckled a bit, trying to keep the mood somewhat light. ‘I am ready whenever you are, Kam!’ Speaking into their link that only Kamryn would hear, Thalia was certain that they were ready to help in whatever way suited them best.

Kassana Silverstream

Kassana remained frozen in front of Asa for a moment longer. She heard the woman’s words, but none of them ever really were transformed into things that made sense within the silver haired girl’s mind for a moment beyond that even. Kassana herself was simply lost in the memory of what happened last time she had encountered this particular individual.

Anger. Rage. Both had flooded into Kassana’s being but there had also been strength. Kassana remembered it. She remembered the feeling of triumph when they had knocked the witch into the ground leaving an imprint of her there even after she had vanished. Kassana remembered the adrenaline she had felt before she truly realized how terrifying her own meister’s determination to slay a witch had become.

A shiver ran down her spine when she finally snapped back. “It could be dangerous…? You’re dangerous. You… you tried to steal the book and that would’ve left the city in chaos… isn’t that… isn’t that just as dangerous?” For a moment, Kassana was at loss for words. She knew that she had fought this individual before. That made her bad, right? No… not right. Not necessarily. This was too confusing.

Before she could really make any sense of it, she felt a figure brush past her and Kassana saw Miyoko standing in front of her, approaching the witch. Suddenly, the girl started charging and Kassana reached out for Miyoko, almost as though she intended to grab the meister although it was already too late. “Miyoko!” Kassana yelled out. “Be careful! She’s a witch!” Up until then, it was unclear whether or not Miyoko knew what she was really getting into. Kassana’s cry was loud though. There was no way she hadn’t heard. In fact, many people likely heard.

Yury Piotrevich Derzhavin

Crowds suffocated him, they always did. The stage was his salvation once faced with hundreds of people, prominently when the eyes were all focused on him and him alone. They could not down him, they could not touch him. But here…? His feet would lead him out of harm’s way almost immediately, never allowing him to get close enough to become one with it, always safeguarding his comfort zone. Sure, it would complicate his primal intention of actual going to this concert in the first place – enjoy some good music. But some distance was never a foreign concept to him, he dared say it had long grown on him. It was his way of adapt to his environment while not compromising his mental state. It worked just fine to him… That was what he kept telling himself as he made his way through food stands, music drumming through his ears in a harmony of each musical instrument.

All was well. Alone with his thoughts, Yury enjoyed the time at the event, taking the effort to not let conceit deprive him from trying out new food and listen to bands he had never heard. Baby steps. The sight of partners here and there urged him from time to time to not get too comfortable, reminding him of the absence of his own Meister. But he tried his best not to let his objectives prevent him from taking a break. If he were to stress about such things over and over, he would surely grow insane. He just had to accept his condition and move from there. And that meant socializing…though he was not particularly skilled in that area.

But then, chaos. An attack destroyed all hopes of a long night of relaxation and amusement, as a horde of ghosts showed no mercy in tearing apart everything in their sight. Students would group up to fight, others would gather those who could not in order to not directly provoke any casualties that could not go beyond their reach, there he stood, in a daze of emotions. He had to do something, anything! A shrieking laughter invaded his ears, drawing his attention towards a mad female amidst this state of disarray, leaving him livid. The voice of another student announcing the presence of a witch made his hair stand on end. It was all too much, he couldn’t think, he couldn’t rationalize right! His arm would morph into a black barrel as thoughts flooded his disturbed mind. Would bullets even work? What good would he do? Should he stop that crazed-eyed girl before she could start on a killing spree or something?

What was he supposed to do…?!

Asa felt a vague uneasiness tugging at her inside, and it was Kassana who was responsible. The witch was unsure just what it was, but if she didn't know any better, she would've described it as anger. As rage. The student's words plagued her, and for the first tim in forever, Asa felt the urge to attack, thought it dumbed down quickly. She tugged at her awfully long sleeves, her thin frame shaking back and forth where she stood. "I didn't steal anything..." she mumbled into her collar, avoiding direct eye contact, instead glimpsing back up every now and then. "Why would you say... that..." She seemed offended, almost. It's not yours... I can have it..." Her cheeks seemed to inflate into a puffy pout as she shook herself.

"You guys were the only ones being mean and I-"

Suddenly, a figure approached. Asa stopped halfway through her sentence, jerking her head upwards to see who joined their exchange, and the girl's voice sounded through. The two didn't seem to be working together, judging by the silver-haired one's reaction. "Please go away." she blurted out, now appearing annoyed and distressed all the same. As the newly arrived began bolting at the witch, it seemed as if she let out a sigh for a brief moment, before dissolving into thick black mist.

"Why would you do something like that?"

Clearly Asa's voice, the words seemed to linger, vague and hard to pinpoint. The fog like a plastic bag over one's mouth, restricting one's breathing. It lasted only a moment, as Asa reappeared next to Kassana, her expression unhappy as before, though her posture had changed to one that screamed for comfort. "You should stop that." Though she wasn't sure how powerful either of the two was - and neither of them could know how strong of an opponent this witch was - it seemed she wasn't all to fond of a fight.

Ella

“Ew! No!” Ella’s reflection wrinkled its nose. “Zombies are not related to ghosts.”

Sitting cross-legged in her weapon dimension, arms folded across her chest, Ella tilted her head in thought. A small frown marred her face.

“At least, I don’t think so. I mean, ghosts are messed up souls with no bodies so I can’t imagine how my dad could be related to one since he has a body. My mom made it for him and it’s much better than my own. Better than most people’s. He doesn’t have to worry about drowning…or being buried alive.”

No impact was felt as Ella was sliced through the transparent specters. Nothing. It was as if she was being cut through air. Ella narrowed her eyes.

“I’m pretty sure mom got Lord Death’s permission to keep dad’s soul after his human body died, otherwise DWMA would be knocking at our door. Can’t say the same for these ghosties.”

Each time she was cut through a poltergeist, it paralyzed them temporarily, buying some time for the concert’s audience to escape. Ella was happy to see that Aiko handled her unusual form efficiently. Almost as well as Kira had. Ella’s eyes shimmered with unshed tears and she clapped her face with both hands to keep herself focused on the main issue. Now wasn’t the time. If she didn’t keep herself together, Aiko could end up like Kira had.

While Aiko continued to wield her dexterously against the white bodiless spirits, Ella scanned the concert area, looking for people that might need help. As more and more people left the square, she finally saw it—a small boy sitting on his butt, seeming unable to get up while a ghost hovered over him.

“Over there!” Ella called, her reflection pointing to the tiny boy who had probably lost his parents. “Do you see the boy? We’ve got to help him!”

Jack

It was odd, being pulled along by his small partner. However, Jack did not resist. Whatever Kalin heard, it clearly set the boy on edge. This was the first time he’d seen his partner so upset. So angry. Jack knew where they were headed even before they got there. He could feel the disturbing soul close in the more they hurried to their destination. Jack clenched his teeth to keep the fear from settling in. He could feel it…the malice. The power.

They stopped in front of Dynamo, who looked as he held a bow staff in hand. Beside the older DWMA student was a dangerous looking older gentleman whose appearance, quite frankly, resembled an escaped fugitive of some sort. Most of the malice Jack sensed came from him. Jack’s eyes flickered between the two warily while Kalin shifted into a weapon and taunted the EAT student wielding a bow staff.

Xander? That’s his name?

Admittedly, Jack hadn’t really paid much attention to other students, least of all someone he’d never really interacted with. He’d been busy researching witches the past two weeks. Still, he remembered seeing Xander’s soul at the training field. It wasn’t nearly as large.

“Your soul…it's different from what I remember.”

Side-stepping the blade of sparks that thrust towards Kalin and, ignoring the explosion that sounded off behind him, Jack ducked forward unhesitatingly, closing the distance between himself and Xander. He’d never really fought anyone before, but he still remembered his uncle’s teachings. When wielding a weapon that’s lighter and with less range than his opponent’s it was better to fight up close so that they had less maneuverability. Speed was his advantage. In one quick motion, Jack swiped Kalin at Xander’s arm, not waiting to see if he made contact before flipping back, once again regaining distance. His eyes were locked on Xanders, ready to react the moment he saw movement.

“I saw you leave before the start of the concert. And now you’re back around the same time the ghosts began attacking. Do you have something to do with this?”

He could see the way, Xander’s wavelength washed over his weapon, bathing it in darkness like a spreading disease. Attacking and then backing off wasn’t necessarily the best way to fight, but he didn’t want Kalin anywhere near the bow staff if he could help it—especially when he didn’t know what effects the poisonous wavelength would produce. A bead of sweat trickled from Jack’s temple and he forced himself to relax, to school his features and not show any weakness. He couldn’t win the game if he was tense. Jack reached into his pocket, and calmed as he touched the familiar cube.

It was alright.

He had his die. It would never lead him astray. He was fortunate that Keziah and Morning Star arrived when they did, as well as another meister. Jack didn’t think he and Kalin could handle both the older gentleman and the wayward EAT student at the same time. At least, not with ease. It would be like trying to handle two dungeon bosses at the same time…doable with skill…but not easy. Even one boss might be challenge for them. Jack sighed. He did always like challenges, but for one so large, so early in the year was pushing their luck. And for Kalin to initiate it…Jack smirked wryly.

‘I don’t exactly understand what’s gotten you so worked up, Kalin, but I’m you partner. We’ll do this together.’

For now he would do what he could. Jack focused on Xander’s soul. He could see the darkness there…spreading to the bowstaff. Was it madness? Xander’s wavelength was the opposite of Kalin’s. Dark whereas Kalin’s had been a warm, bright light. Soothing. Cleansing. Healing. Jack could still remember the bathing in the warmth leaking from Kalin’s porous soul when he encountered it for the first time. Could that purify the toxic wavelength? Was that small light enough to sooth the savage beast?

Only one way to find out.

While we’re linked, you can see what I see, right?’ Jack held Kalin out in front of him, the point of the short sword aimed at the blackened bow staff. 'We win the game when we purify the darkness. I’ll do my best to help you make contact. When that happens, reach out to her soul with your wavelength.’

Aloud Jack spoke. “I don’t know who offered you power, Xander, but was it really worth it? Your weapon,” Jack met the EAT meister’s eyes. “You’re tainting it. That sort of power isn't worth anything at all. We'll prove it to you.”

He would have to find a way to close the distance between them again. It was a risk, letting Kalin get close to that dangerous wavelength, fighting a meister who was clearly superior in terms of soul strength and experience, but there were no rewards without risk and nothing would be gained if he didn't roll the die.

"Mikyoko! Be careful! She's a witch!"

Jack blinked when heard Kassana's voice. "A witch...," he repeated incredulously. "You got your powers from a witch?"

Naia Mahiʻai

Naia rose from her seat after she finished her pretzel. She threw away her garbage and then entered the crowd. She was in the process of weaving her way through it for a safe spot to stand and not get knocked out by flying arms, when the concert began. She stopped right where she was and listened to the lady on stage, whose name she didn't catch nor did she recognize, then cheered along with the crowd as the first band played. She was tugged into the hype and excitement, until it got to be too much and she danced her way out of the crowd. Once she finally freed herself from the crowd, she settled at the back dancing to her own beat in a clear spot, not even really listening to the music.

Her dancing did draw to a stop when fireworks were shot into the air and brought an amazed smile to her face. This was new, back home they didn't have fireworks. Her amazement was knocked away though as a man shouted for everyone to get down. Naia decided to go with it, and dropped lower for half a second as she looked up to see a massive cloud of otherworldly beings. The order was given to fight or help, but she didn't move, simply staring at the spirits. This was massively unlike anything she'd seen, and having only been in Death City for a week she wasn't as used to the crazy as some would be.

Naia soon snapped from her stupor, and stood up fully before she pushed herself forward into the chaos. She eyed meister-and-weapon pairs as they worked against the ghosts, but settled for avoiding the beings as best she could. Her focus was on the civilians that were incapable of fighting off the spirits. She directed as many as she could out of the city square, and stopped to help calm several others. However, her attention was pulled to a different focus by a red-haired boy who jumped off the stag and into the crowd. Her eyes followed his path and she soon spotted what had probably drawn him from the stage.

There, close to the center of the crowded city square stood what looked to be a man emitting a red aura. Truly strange indeed. Her curiosity got the best of her and she worked her way through the crowd, following suit of the boy she'd first spotted. Luxe she thought his name was but she wasn't certain. Despite the voices in her head that said to turn around and go away, she pushed closer to the red man, and was close enough to see another meister stop a sword from coming into contact with the boy's body.

Her pursuit stopped there, a good distance away yet still close enough to see and hear. She recognized this person, Keziah, sooner than she had Luxe. Her gaze shifted directly to the man they were up against, and an unsettling feeling hit her. He was bad news. She glanced between the man and Luxe, armed solely with a guitar which she barely heard Keziah point out. Her gaze shifted to the chaos around her, and back to the ensuing fight. Her head was telling her to help them. The question was how to do that.

Luxe Rosenfield

Luxe skidded to a stop as the man lunged at him with his transformed hand. He was prepared to parry it with his guitar, when another student intercepted it with her own weapon. Luxe hopped back, prepared to fight the new arrival too, but this one seemed much less aggressive, and far more attractive than the other two people who caught his attention.

Relaxing a bit, Luxe let loose a short sigh as he ruffled his hair.

'Okay Luxe, you didn't get turned into a Kabab tonight, but now would really be a time to get serious...at least it would if you were ever serious. So how about we just do the usual and hit on the cute girl? Yea, that sounds-'

“Are you sure this is a fight you want to get into without a weapon?”

"Wha-?" Lux replied, blinking as he registered what the girl had said. A weapon? Well, he had his guitar. With that and his ace, that should be all he needs...right?

To be honest, it'd been a while since Lux had worked with a partner. No matter how much he tried, he'd never come across a perfect match. Sometimes he wondered if...no, there wasn't time to get all deep and brooding. It was time to put on a show.

"Well, I was going to play this guy a nice song, sexy lady. But if you can hold him back for a minute or two, I'll see what I can do about getting a different instrument..."

Luxe took a few more steps back and relaxed. He started to strum away at his guitar, closing his eyes as the sound deep within flowed out of him. It wasnt completely familiar, but it came easily to Lux, and formed into an ephemeral melody as his sound reached through the crowds.

[
Note: Play to 1:10]

[/media]

As he strummed away, Luxe could feel each note he played tugging on him, dragging through the crowd, and repelling the ghosts that tried to reach him. As he finished, Luxe opened his eyes and found himself staring into the eyes of a girl. She was a bit shorter than him, but she carried herself in a prideful manner that he couldn't help but find interesting. Not to mention that she was, in a word, beautiful.

Luxe smiled, knowing that there wasn't much time to flirt, or even talk. He had to keep this short or risk that man coming for him again...

"I know this is sudden, and I understand of you say no, but I felt something that drew me to you, and I really think I should listen to that feeling. I'm Luxe, and I guess what I'm saying is...will you be my dance partner tonight?"

Miyoko Oromo

There's a brief moment, as she realizes her stealth attempt has been ruined by Kassana yelling out at her to warn her of something that, to be entirely honest, Miyoko fails to care about. She figured whoever this was was someone dangerous- how dangerous wasn't a factor in her calculations, and it still isn't.

Now, the girl warned by Kassana yelling out turning into a black mist that her attack just.. slides through? That's disconcerting. In fact, it's worrying- as without a weapon, all she has is her admitably top notch hand to hand skills- pure brute force and a lot of skill... but nothing to harm an insubstantial foe. She flicks her hands to the side- and pivots, as that sickening feeling washes over her. That sickening, choking feeling.

She hears the girls words, and assesses her. She sighs quietly, and cracks her shoulders- as she slides out of her initially assumed combat posture. It's a real put out, that this girl doesn't seem the type to fight at all- nor the type to fight fair if forced. She's a reckless hothead at times- but far from an idiot. A foe she can't harm isn't a foe she want's to fight...

"....Well, looked like you just got asked to hurt one of my friends. That's why I'd do somethin' like that... but it seems you're more the type to talk. Bummer, but good at the same time, I s'pose. Kassana- I know you don't like me... at all, based on our past conversations- but I'm here to help. This chick- she a hostile, or did I leap to conclusions too fast? Like- you need help with her, or..?" She inquires calmly- blatantly seeming to either be ignoring that she was told the girls a witch, or not caring beyond the threat assessment performed when she backed down.

Her eyes are roving about- and it infuriates her that she's not doing something productive right now, it feels like. Still- without a weapon, she could only do so much to the spectres, either...

Keziah Swan and Warren Langston

Glancing back at Luxe and rolling her eyes, Keziah had been about to comment that now was the last time she would’ve recommended for playing a song. However, before she was able to get the snap out, Warren snapped her attention back to the fight that they had gotten themselves into. ‘Kez! He’s coming back for more!’ Warren warned her.

Keziah once again wanted to snarl but as she turned her attention back to Axel, she was forced to see that Warren was right and she could not deny that. In a way, she had to blame herself for being distracted by the other students. Sighing, Keziah held Warren at the ready, prepared for Axel’s next charge. Wielding her weapon partner in one hand, Keziah’s other hand charged up her soul wavelength and she drove it forward straight into his charge. Electricity sounded and Keziah watched as the bolts soared through the blade he was striking with straight to his core while she sidestepped simply.

‘Come on, Kez! You know I’m an awesome weapon! Use me!’ Warren whined as he realized that he wasn’t being swung into an attack.

‘If you don’t shut up, you’re never going to see an attack,’ Keziah snapped back. ‘I’m trying to come up with a plan so if you have any brilliant ideas, Great Evening Star, now would be the time to share them.’

Warren actually did take a moment to analyze their opponent’s movements after that and he was silent for quite a while. Keziah used him to parry another swipe although it seemed that she was at a loss for how to handle the situation beyond just blocking and sidestepping. Eventually, it was inevitable that Axel would get bored of playing with them and that was what she feared more than anything else.

‘Well, it doesn’t seem two is quite enough for him,’ Warren commented.

‘Well, no duh! Idiot!’ Keziah scolded. Pushing the demon sword back as far as she could, Keziah turned to glance back for the kid with the guitar again and she saw him talking to another student. Her soul eyes could see that she was a weapon. “Hey! You! I could actually use some help over here!” Keziah yelled it loud enough so that pretty much anyone could hear; she wasn’t about to be picky right now.

Kassana Silverstream

Kassana was staring at Asa for a moment longer. She realized something. There was something familiar about this woman; it was something Kassana knew in herself and it didn’t quite make sense to see it within another person. There was a lack of social capabilities that Kassana was entirely too familiar with. It was confusing. It… it made Kassana angry to see that a witch had a problem similar to one that she herself struggled with.

“Why would you ask me why people do things!? I don’t know!” Kassana found herself screaming at the woman. “You’re a witch! Why are you here!? Witches aren’t supposed to be in Death City!” It troubled her even more to know that she had no idea why she believed what she believed. These were things that had been taught to her and that she had read as being the truth so there really was no reasoning behind it.

Turning to Miyoko, Kassana found herself surprised to see that the meister was no hurt. This led her to be even more confused by the entire situation. “She’s a witch, Miyoko,” Kassana found herself repeating what she had said earlier although it was not nearly as loud. “Doesn’t that mean we’re supposed to do something about it? Or no…?” Something flickered in the back of her mind. It was as though it was a reminder. She couldn’t help but recall someone telling her that not all witches had to be bad.

@Sunbather @SephirothSage

Jayce Hammerkin

Freed from the circle of ghosts that had surrounded both himself and Felix, Jayce resumed his human form, springing out of Felix’s grasp as he landed on his feet in front of the meister. Turning to face Felix, he asked, “You ok?” He could see that the fight had tired the meister although Jayce himself still felt like he could handle more. Endurance came with training, he supposed.

Letting the meister rest for a minute, Jayce surveyed the rest of the situation. It still seemed as though they lacked a permanent solution to the plague of poltergeists and that was the most prominent problem that he could notice. It also seemed that Xander had showed up to the fight and that he’d brought a friend with him. Things really weren’t looking up. To compound that even further, he heard someone yell witch. “Great! How wonderful!?” His voice was laced with sarcasm.

Almost on cue, he heard someone laughing and his head whipped around hard. The boy’s eyes fell upon a laughing girl and his eyes hardened into a glare. Usually Jayce wasn’t the kind of person to yell at people for not taking things seriously, but this… this was a whole different level of obscene. There were people in danger and she was laughing. “Hey!” Jayce yelled loudly. “Maybe someone would be able to give you a good joke to laugh at if you’d actually get off your butt and help!”

Seeing her like that really upset the weapon. It almost reminded him of the witch’s laughter on the day that he’d lost his original meister. Grabbing Felix by the hand, Jayce marched them both away from the girl, knowing that sticking around any longer would drive him truly insane. “It might be a good idea to set up a perimeter and try to contain them,” he suggested, trying desperately to get his mind back into the situation at hand rather than locked in the past. That in and of itself was a dangerous game.

Akahana Shima

The Hooded Terror

Akahana was wrapped within a dream-like fantasy. That is, if blood raining from the sky and dead bodies everywhere was a fantasy. It was fantasy enough for her... The girl laughed oh so hard at how people dropped like flies, screams of pain, the like. Maybe she should make it happen! The ghosts were unable to touch people from what it seemed. Just throw stuff around and cause whatever mischief they wanted. Why was the entire crowd screaming, it wasn't like they were tearing people apart! Oh she wished that were so, but this just proved how fearful humans were... People ran around her like scared deer. Are these people so spineless? They deserved to die if they can't even handle some ghosts that can't even harm them!

“Hey!”

Her attention was called to a boy. What could he want? Couldn't he see she was enjoying her thoughts? Rude.

“Maybe someone would be able to give you a good joke to laugh at if you’d actually get off your butt and help!”

That awakened some anger in him. Such a disrespectful piece of shit! Was she not allowed to enjoy the chaos around her? Was that a crime? She doubted it! He was trying to strip her of her freedom! Piece of shit piece of shit piece of shit! Maybe he should be the first one who's crimson beats the moonlit terrain! She wanted to see his blood on the ground, such a little statement made her infuriated and blood thirsty.

She suddenly exclaimed, lunging at the weapon with enough force to cause stumbling or to fall entirely, and attempted to grab his neck. If she were to latch onto him, she would immediately begin throttling him with a tight grip.

Dakota listened tot he bands silently, enjoying the music wholeheartedly. She also watched the crowd as those within moved, danced and cheered. She was enjoying herself, up until chaos erupted. Someone shouted to get down, screams ensued, and a crowd of ghosts made an appearance. She stared at the spectral beings wide eyed, not even sparing a glance toward Damian. The crowds were bad enough at first, and now they had floating spirits flying around wrecking havoc?! This was not her cup of tea, and it was certainly doing a number on her head. She panicked soon after her shocked state wore off, and eyed the area, completely ignoring the command to help. She didn't know what to do, or if there was anything she could do.

Reacting on complete panic induced instinct now, she pushed herself up from the bench, book and Damian forgotten and ducked behind it. She dropped to the ground, body tucked as tight was possible, her knees pressed to her torso and head pulled down. Despite her duty as a DWMA student, her nerves were driving her body at that moment. She wrapped her arms around her knees, and held still listening to the chaos of the rest of the square.
'Ghosts... Screaming... Ghosts... Chaos... Ghosts...' Those thoughts repeated in her shocked mind as she hid there despite the fact that she'd basically made herself into a target for the ghosts. "What am I supposed to do? I don't... like this..." She muttered to herself, as if trying to pull answers and a solution from her confused head, tugging as her short hair with one hand harshly.

'I can't help... I'd only get in the way...But I should do something... No, I can't...' She continued to reason mentally with herself onnly to negatively counter it again. As the chaos continued and seemed to increase with the addition of meister and weapon pairs fighting, her mental state only grew more distressed, her thought process more negative towards herself. It was doing no good.

Her arms moved from her knees to her head, pushing it further into her knees as a ghost came to close for comfort to her. Her current situation was going against her duty as a DWMA student, NOT or otherwise, but she couldn't control that. She had no idea where her friends were, and while she worried for them, that feeling was shoved to the back of her head by whatever was keeping her there, behind that bench. Shock, nerves, panic, negativity, you name it. It was all mixing into a whirlwind of thoughts and messed with her already easily broken mind. Her eyes squeezed shut and she attempted to force her thoughts away from the chaos, to no avail. It seemed she was stuck like this, for the time being, until she managed to get a hold of herself again. Who knows how long that will take.

Miyoko blinks at Kassana's logic- and shrugs, then shakes her head.

"Not nesascarily. Witch doesn't mean evil, y'know. I read they have some kinda natural inclination towards destruction and chaos- but that's not /evil/, that's /disorder/- two entirely different things. We only gotta do somethin' 'bout her if she goes 'round killin people, or fuckin with souls, or works for someone who does."

She then, after that airy lecture towards Kassana- turns to stare at the Witch in question with a lopsided half-smile. She wants this to be a fight- but her damnable logic, her ever frustrating sanity, knows that's a bad call. So she smiles, and looks at the Witch.

"So. You here to cause problems, or we 'coo? Hey- if you're /not/ here to cause problems and hurt people, maybe help us with the ghosts? I'd be much obliged- Maybe do you a favor some time, if you'd kindly help us with the haunts and spooks goin' round hurtin' people." She drawls out- her bizare mix of Japanese, Irish, and street thug american accent seeming to wildly veer between her two nationalities, and the local thug parlance. She sighs wearily, clearly not happy to be extending an olive branch- but smart enough to know it's the wisest call.

She hears someone calling for help- and idly looks over to notice what seems like a fight between Meisters. Now that, that get's her blood pumping..

One thing at a time, she thinks to herself..

All the sounds and the noises, people screaming and yelling, they should have been loud, but for Sarah it wasn't. Everything was muffled. It was like being in a room with everything going on outside. She tried to open her eyes but failed. It seemed like they had been glued, and one burned, like when you get shampoo in it during a shower. She tried to tilt her head. It was resting against something hard and warm. Finally it seemed like her body wanted to listen but there was still this weight, like something heavy was on her chest. Was something broken? Did the stage fall on her? Or was she just sad? Finally as Sarah forced her eyes to open. All that was before her, that she could see was the beautiful little girl that had leap into her arms. Sarah was overjoyed to know that she was not hurt. Lifting a hand to the girl’s cheek, she gently touched it and spoke very softly, “I’m so glad you’re OK.

Shifting quickly, Lauren saw that her sister had regained consciousness and was actually moving. Not just that but crying for some reason. Lauren didn’t understand that, or any of this really but she was also glad. Turning to Keane then to the little girl, she moved in closer so she was heard. Lauren asked the girl, “We’ll find Ross, but what’s your name sweetie?

Emma looked very confused as her eyes turned to see Lauren and after that, her eyes flickered back and forth between Sarah and Lauren for a moment after that. “I’m… uhm… Emma,” she answered simply as she pushed herself to her feet carefully.

Seeing Sarah up so suddenly was unsettling, but also comforting. She had taken a serious blow to the head, but recovery was more than likely. The little girl she had risked her cranium for seemed no worse for wear, even with her scrapes. Her confused expression and struggle to answer Lauren’s question seemed a bit more than warranted.

“No need to move so suddenly. You and Sarah here took quite the fall. I’d give yourself some time before going anywhere,
” he said before remembering their current situation. “Although leaving this area is still priority.

Keanehan had noted Emma’s statement about finding a boy by the name of Ross. “What does this young man look like. While I would advise letting one of us look for him, it would be of great help if you gave us a little insight.

Emma, standing on her feet now, was spinning around in circles as she looked for her little brother. Part of her heard the man’s question, but she was more concerned with finding him than describing him at the moment. “I don’t see him anywhere!” Emma yelled frantically, continuing spinning around in circles as she kept searching. “He’s short. Shorter than me,” was the explanation she finally offered.

Lauren attempted to calm the girl, “Emma don’t worry! We will find him.” While at the same time she was very displeased that her sister was trying to stand again. Sarah turned to her side; vision still fading in and out, sometimes focusing and other times remaining blurry. What she could make out was the small pool of blood where her head had been. Was that from her? Between the pounding in her skull and it all it was all, for lack of better words, utterly overwhelming. She winced in pain as she shifted wrong.

Sarah!” Lauren slightly yelled as she fell the short distance next Sarah. It was kind of in that instant that something clicked. Keane was right, they needed to get the hell out of here. Taking her arm, she wrapped it under Sarah’s and grabbed under her other arm. Turning to look up at Keanehan, Lauren asked him to help her, “Can you get Sarah’s other side, we need to get her up.” The panic apparent in her voice. Turning back down to Emma, she was simply at a loss for what to do. Lauren grabbed her hand tightly.

Without hesitation Keanehan took up the other half of Sarah. Making sure to keep a tight hold on her. “Ms. Sparks I am more than capable of holding her on my back. If we keep her like this we won’t be able make any moves to stop poltergeists, if need be.” In that moment, the amber haired weapon heard a call. It was somewhat distant and young, but the name was there. “Emma!”, came the cry.

“Would that be our boy, little one?” The question was more of a formality than an actual question. He knew better and after taking Sarah from Lauren and placing her safely on his back, Keane looked to Lauren. “I understand that our situation is not the most favorable, but they need us as much as Sarah does. I have your sister, Ms. Sparks. Please take to the children.

Even with everything going on, he was calm. No panic. No confusion. No conflicting thoughts. Only a mission--a directive. It wasn’t like before, where he was kissed without warning. This wasn’t something social. For him, this was business. His element.

With the weight of her sister taken off of her, it still was not enough to calm her in anyway. The twin was still set on overload. Having still had Emma’s hand in her own, she also turned towards the boy that Keanehan had pointed out. Trying to smile, she turned to the little girl, but being on the verge of tears, Lauren’s voice broke as she spoke. “Let… Let’s go get him!

Emma’s head spun violently at the mention that anyone might have caught sight of her little brother. She didn’t seem to realize that her hand was still in Lauren’s and the moment she saw Ross lying flat on the ground, she ran towards him, tearing her hand out of the girl’s in the process. “ROSS!” Emma proclaimed loudly as she ran up to him, kneeling at the side of her little brother.

Ross’s head was still spinning and although he made eye contact with Emma, he didn’t seem to quite see her yet. “Emma?” he muttered, slurring his words.

Even though the girl had pulled free from Lauren’s grip, she followed right behind her. Chasing in toe until the little mini version of herself finally fell at her brother’s side. The teen just kind of stood there for a moment before muttering both of there names, “Ross, Emma.” A flood of relief came, even if little, and if for unknown reasons, but it was much needed for her.

As if somehow it had little clicked that the both of them were safe. Kneeling down next to Emma, Lauren took Ross under his arm and lifted him up to her side. “Hi Ross,” she said, “I’m Emma’s friend.” turning her gaze down to Emma for a moment, she flashed a sincere smile. “We’re gonna get you two out of here.” Using her free hand, she brushed his hair a little. Finally Lauren turned back to Keane not really knowing where they should go. Her brows turned up with worry and unease yet again.

Looking to the kids and Lauren, Keanehan made it a point to keep his soul projected. It wasn’t a large radius, but he was able to send a pulse every so often. Seeing the confused and somewhat distraught expression on Lauren’s face made him sigh for a moment. “Let us head to my home. It’s a reasonable enough distance to where I can head back in a timely manner. And there, you, Sarah, and the children can rest.

He began his quickened walk toward the exit, making sure to dodge what came his way. Still, his movement was limited with Sarah on his back. Looking back for a moment he spoke again. “I understand that you may be afraid or anxious, but in order for us to help anyone we need to regroup.

Ross glanced at Lauren, looking rather confused for a moment before his eyes turned back to Emma who was slowly nodding. Emma seemed kind of confused herself, but it was to a far lesser extent than Ross’s confusion so she was able to be some amount of reassuring to her little brother. After that Ross simply nodded, content to go along with whatever they brought up.

Emma, meanwhile, was slightly more hesitant. “What about our mom and dad?” she asked Keane. The question was directed towards him merely because he seemed to be the one more in charge of their current situation and it wasn’t intended to be anything against Lauren herself. “They’re still here somewhere. I heard him…” Emma’s eyes tried to peek through the crowds, presumably looking for her parents although she couldn’t see either of them in the chaos of the situation.

Looking back at Emma, her hand kind of instinctively came to Emma head and gently stroked it. Trying to pull her in close even if just a little. Lauren was going to suggest that they go to the twins home, but the subject of her parents came up first. As much as Lauren didn't want to, she ended up lying to Emma. “Sweetie, I'm sure your parents got out already. But you and Ross are in the most danger.” Lauren kneeled down with Ross at her side, her hand dropping to Emma’s shoulder. “My sister is hurt, your brother is a little hurt, and we don't want you or your parents getting hurt. So I’ll make a promise with you. If you come with us, Keane will come back and make sure everyone and your parents are safe.” with a genuine smile, her hand moved to Emma’s side. ”Then, when this is all over, they’ll come and get you. Whaddya think sweetie, will you come with me? It’ll be like a sleepover!

Watching them converse made Keane more than a bit impatient. There was a goal to be considered. Their safety and that of others could only be achieved if he and the other groups could get the situation handled. Emotions were hindrances in this moment. Nothing good would come of them just standing around, but here they were--in a torrent of scared individuals and Poltergeists.

He soon picked up on Lauren’s promise to Emma and understood what she was doing. “Yes, young lady. I will return and see to it that both your mother and father are safe. I’ll direct them to you and your brother, but first we must all make it to safety. Once we’re all safe then you can describe them to me.” He looked at the girl intently. “You have my word.

Slowly but surely, Emma began to nod along with what everyone was saying. As long as she and Ross were together, there was no reason for her to be afraid of getting in trouble and if they were going to come back for her parents - or if her parents were already out - again, she had no reason to be afraid. “Ok…” she sighed softly. It wasn’t exuberant or jubilant, but who could be in such a situation in the first place.

Taking Emma by the hand, she stood back up and turned to Keanehan, “Follow me.” Sarah however was a little more dramatic. “Wait!” Her chin resting on Keane shoulder. “We only just got here, why are we leaving already?” she asked. Her eyes a little weird but her expression definitely disappointed. Lauren turned her eyes to her sister and was truly worried. This was most definitely not like her. Enough time had been wasted though.

Turning back she began moving as quickly and as best she could with Ross on her side and Emma right next to her. The ghosts seemed to be more preoccupied with screams and others and the twin hoped to keep it that way. At least the street was already in view, it was just getting there now.

As fast as they were going it still wasn’t as fast as they could be going, and that actually bothered Keane. He knew the math and the reasons as to why, but he wanted to get them home. Each second they had spent talking, now had to be made back up with speedy and efficient travel. And unfortunately for him, efficiency was not exactly the most achievable goal. As they kept pace and moved through the crowd toward the entrance, Keanehan felt himself loosen up. Time was being bought back.

After making it passed the gate he looked back to make sure they were still in tow. “Just keep following me. It’s only ten blocks away, so it won’t be too hard of a jog.” With that having been said, he kept his pace and forced them along.

He wanted to jog? With Sarah on his back. Just the idea seemed crazy, at least to Lauren but apparently to her sister also. With her eyes closed and head tilted sideways against his she just kind of randomly blurted out, “No Sir Keanehan. West by 62 degrees down…,” her arm came up and pointed down the road in the opposite direction, “...that direction, with only 5 minutes travel.” with a weird satisfied giggle her consciousness faded again.

As they neared the house, Keanehan slowed down to a slow shuffle until they were in front of it. He worked his keys out of his pants and opened the door. Leaving it open for them, he walked in and made his way upstairs and into his room, placing Sarah on his bed. After making sure her head was propped up on a pillow, he went to grab the first aid kit. After assessing her head wound, he got the gauze and Alcohol out, making sure to clean the wound thoroughly before applying the gauze. She didn’t need stitches, but it was certainly going to hurt for some time. He couldn’t tell if she had a concussion, but if she did her being asleep would prove troublesome.

Once he was finished with her, he began peeling off his now crimson dress shirt and vest. Making sure to put his black scarf and watch over by his work table. “I’ll have to clean my scarf later...but without it covering my neck….” He put a hand on his scars. “My robes only cover so much….”

Having entered someone else's house was a bit strange. The commotion couldn't even be heard from here and even the kids seemed a little scared. Setting Ross on the Victorian like couch, Emma sat next to him and seemed very protective over him. Lauren knelt down again, petting both their heads gently. Emma’s hair was so soft, and Ross’ a little wild. With a large smile she assured them it would be OK and that she would go find something special for the two of them.

Walking back over to the front door, she closed and locked it before heading upstairs. As much as she expected her sister to be passed out, what she didn't expect was a half naked Keane. As she turned the corner to the room, Keane stood there, bare with his skin bared to her. She gasp lightly and a hand came up to cover her mouth, mumbling, “I’m sorry, I should have knocked.” before turning around. Lauren’s face was completely blushed as she thought about the kiss and now this. It was all so much for one day. And even the idea that she had forgotten about it till just now...

Hearing Lauren behind him he nonchalantly went to his closet for his robes.

“It’s fine. Given the circumstances, I’m more than certain that your sister’s wellbeing was on your mind. There’s really no need to apologize.
” He wrapped the robes around himself and tied them in the appropriate areas. ‘She saw them. I wonder how this will bode.’

Turning around, he sighed at his scarf and shook his head. ‘I guess I’ll have to make sure no one else sees them then. Even if it is just the one on my neck.’ Without much hesitation, Keanehan walked toward the door, but stopped right in front of Lauren.

“Keep your sister and the little ones safe. I’ll be back when everything is taken care of. Most likely with their parents.
” He was about to step passed her when he remembered something. “And please do not disturb the work station. You are welcome to any and all food. You may use the showers, if need be. And feel free to sleep where you like.” With that being noted he went passed her, down the steps and out the door.

Lauren just watched as he went by and said nothing. It all needed to sink in first and the only words she could muster was a nearly silent “Thank you”.

Going into the room for a few moments to check on her sister. Sarah seemed so innocent and calm. Even her head had been bandaged and her skin and hair cleaned. Keane really was an amazing person. Lauren pulled a light blanket up around her sister before smiling. Even though there was still a lot going on, she finally felt at easy. The excitement of the good and the bad for tonight sank in and absorbed and it was like she could finally focus on what was infront of her. Finally Lauren made her way back down stairs to the kids who, to no surprise, were kind of restless.

Sitting on her knees on the other side of the table, Lauren looked straight at both kids. “So, while we are here in this castle! What do you two want to do?” Lauren asked to Emma and Ross.

Yury Piotrevich Derzhavin

No, no. Drifting away in confusion was not an option here, it never had been anywhere. He pulled himself together, his senses abandoning the dazed, faint numbness that controlled them. Yury’s feet dashed forward, his arm rose and one, two, three, the bullets just kept coming. Drawing away spirit after spirit. Meister or not by his side, he refused to just stand around as these creatures do as their please…that much was clear to him.

“Don’t think, act.”

Words his brother had imprinted on his mind long ago, more than he could remember when, why. Perhaps he had said more than once, perhaps in a moment that had carved its way into his mind too deeply. To follow it so impulsively…it was poignant, really. He had to be cautious, tactical. He was unaware of the results of one of his bullets hitting an innocent, given their nature, but he was not foolish enough to actually consider an attempt. He could not be Rasil, not even for a second. If anything, his status further emphasized his need for not following his mentors’ teaching until now.

To clear his mind and leave his soul cleansed, one had said.

Yes, much better.

Through gestures and shouting, he managed to instruct some of those at disarray out of trouble. His focus was lost for a moment for the sight of a poltergeist attacking a girl of long, pink hair from out of her reach. The response came forthwith. “GET DOWN!” The attacker’s intentions were short lived, gunned down for three bullets. “Are you alright?” Wait, wasn’t she…? Yes, an EAT student, no less, albeit her name was lost in him. There was no way she could be evading this conflict. Another entity came abruptly enough to question her, as well as cementing the impossibility of getting an explanation at the moment.

But could he really just let her go? Yury trusted her to be faithful to her role as a DWMA student, an EAT no less. But it did not sit well with him in the least to leave her, a Meister no doubt, given the lack of response once realizing to be a target. Where was her Weapon? Most likely they had to stay behind to hold off the enemy… “You have a mission to carry out that privatizes your presence in the main building. I understand that you are able to defend yourself on your own, I won’t doubt so in a second.”He pauses, reloading his weaponized arm. Through his colored lenses, his eyes carved in hers in an intense stare.“Please, lead the way, allow me to accompany you momentarily. Let me do this. The circumstances will only go beyond this chaos from this point on…” No arrogance, no naiveté. It was a genuine, sensible request.

Jason Daniels

As he slowly stalked his way through the swarm of angry specters, his anger slowly increasing at not only his inability to harm the wretched creatures, but at the lack of scapegoat to place the blame for this occurrence upon. He absentmindedly realized that if he didn't find an outlet for his rage soon then he was going to start getting sadistic. That wouldn't be very pretty, he numbly thought as he swiped his hand through yet another poltergeist, stunning long enough for him to continue his paced shamble. He'd hate for all the other students to see that side of him. Bad for his image really. He was known to be a laid back kinda guy, if not sarcastic and arrogant, at times anyway, to the n-th degree, but laid back nonetheless. Not even Selene had seen that cruel side of him, and she knew everything about him. Thinking of his best friend sedated his anger for a brief period of time. Unfortunately that didn't last, as his anger returned tenfold the moment another ghost made it's way into his vision, interrupting his pleasant thoughts in one fell swoop. With a roar reminiscent to that of a savage beast, he clawed at it and gazed around angrily as a singular thought flew threw his head. 'I need a proper goddamn outlet or someone innocent is going to get hurt.'

Just then he heard something. His head snapped to the side and he saw the source of what caught his attention. Off not too far away, what seemed to be Keziah and Warren facing off against an unknown variable. But what mattered to him were three things. One, he could have sworn that Keziah had called for help, and he was going to run under the assumption that she did. Two, the unknown variable was strange, and since this whole situation was strange, he must be connected to it somehow. And last but not least, the stranger was hostile. At that thought, a wide, adrenaline filled smile spread across Jason's face at not only the thought of a fight, but a fight against someone who seemed to be connected to the cause of his anger. With a silent cackle to himself, he bent low and charged at the fighting trio, his whole farm crackling with his wavelength as he approached from the stranger's blindside. As he got within striking range, he leapt up into a reverse hook kick, empowered thoroughly with his wavelength, aimed at his Axel's head, with Jason's smile growing the whole time.

Naia Mahiʻai

Naia watched the chaos continue, until something else caught her eye. The boy with red hair she'd spotted earlier was making his way through the crowd. Now, normally she'd ignore this entirely, had it not been for the fact that he was doing so while playing a guitar. The music he played seemed to drive the ghosts away from him as he moved. She found herself quite curious, and her focus shifted completely towards him, not even paying attention to the rest of her surroundings. She focused in on what he was playing, hearing it through the chaos somehow, beautiful music in all it's glory.

Her golden hued eyes locked into the boy's red ones, and she blinked at him for a second as he came to a stop before her. His song was finished by this time. Her eyes shifted from his eyes, to travel around the rest of his face for a second. She noticed his smile just before he started to speak. She listened quietly, then found herself smiling as well. She was about to respond, when Keziah's voice cut through the air. She was shouting about help. Her gaze flicked to the fight for a second, her smile faltering, before it returned to Luxe. This time, a more determined smile graced her features. He needed a partner, and she was more than happy to help.

"I would be honored to be your dance partner tonight, Luxe." She answered, though she found herself laughing mentally to herself at how truly polite she'd just sounded. After a second, she realized what she was doing and stopped, to finish her response to Luxe. "My name's Naia." She introduced herself with a smile, then her focus hardened as she remembered Keziah and the odd man.

"I believe your friend Keziah would like some help. Shall we?" She questioned, still lightly smiling that determined smile. Her gaze moved to the fight, to see another launching a kick at the man's head. She had an odd feeling about this new student attacker, but she was too far away to tell what it was. He didn't feel as off as the man with the red aura did and he was attacking said man, so she wasn't too worried. Her focus returned to Luxe, her gaze once again locked with his.

Kalin Mickleson "Galahad"
"I know WHAT you are. I know what kind of twisted, despicable, evil kind of creature it takes to do this." He snarls. "And you know what's even sadder? You're a cheap imitation." Kalin spat, with more contempt and disgust than someone his size should be able to contain. The real deal didn't need to borrow power to dominate a weapon. This filthy creature would dare treat another as a slave. His own sister, pressed into service. No, there was no forgiveness for this. Only retribution, His Grace would be his only reprieve.

Especially if he was the one who released the specters, whom were causing all of these people to suffer. Such selfishness was unthinkable. Such treachery. Kalin soared within Jack's grip, responding faster than ever before to his whims, his soul wavelength shifting in the slightest. His partner had chosen an appropriate strategy without his advice. This was a good sign.

'
Jack. Don't you dare let him hit you. I'll take it, whatever he throws. Don't be afraid to parry, or catch her in my cross guard. Don't try to argue this, either. It's what I'm designed for. And I'll die before I let him run off with her like that.' This time, he wouldn't hide. This time, he would fight. This time he had a miester, and a plan. And a responsibility.

"What he saw was someone weak, and easily manipulated. Someone he could dispose of after he got you to do his dirty work. And you fell right into his hand. Honestly, how ignorant of the ways of the world are you?" The irony of this statement was completely to Kalin. Not that he would have cared. There was evil before him. There were people suffering. And he had a chance to end it. This time, he would purge the menace.

Jessyka Volontari

Jessyka’s attention had turned completely away from all the chaos involving poltergeists and ghosts and boxes and weapons and meisters and witches the moment she’d realized there was something else she could do just as easily. As such, it caught her completely by surprise when she heard the resounding “GET DOWN!” from somewhere behind her followed quickly by three gunshot sounds.

Her head turned swiftly to look behind her. Of course, the pink haired meister’s first thought was that it had been Skyler; that really made the most sense in her mind. Why wouldn’t it be Skyler? He was her partner after all. However, it seemed that he had chosen this exact moment to go missing which left her staring at some other stranger. Jessyka’s eyes fell to the figure of Yury standing close to her and then they quickly trickled down to his partially transformed arm - another gun.
“Thanks!” she replied swiftly.

Noticing that the things he had shot were some of the poltergeists, she started running again and beckoned for him to follow.
“You gotta move, you know!” Jessyka snapped, slightly annoyed although that was more from the entirety of the situation rather than simply Yury himself. “Nothing destroys them indefinitely. That’s why we need the box.” She remembered Nicolas having explained that earlier and she wasn’t quite sure who else had heard it.

“You can tag along if you can keep up,” she added, still running at a brutal pace towards the DWMA. “But I don’t slow down for no one.” True to her word, Jessyka never once looked back at him to ensure he was following and she never once slowed up her pace.

@Mine

Axel Traynor, Keziah Swan and Jayce Hamerkin

Unfortunately for Jason, at the exact moment that his wavelength would strike, Axel’s entire body lurched forward, drawn to a sudden surge in negative energy coming from nearby that simply smelled way more appetizing than the fight he was currently engaged within. Keziah’s eyes, after noting Jason had joined them, followed the demon sword and she could see where he was heading almost immediately. The whole scene stood out to her like a searing red flag and she yelled out,
“IDIOT!” For once, she wasn’t using it in reference to her weapon partner.

Axel’s movements were clear, definable, predictable. He was making a beeline straight for Akahana simply because in that moment, her wavelength was almost comparable to his own - bloodthirsty - and the aroma was seductive. The demon sword wanted a taste.

Akahana’s hands made contact with Jayce; he’d been completely oblivious to the coming attack from her as he would’ve never expected such a thing from a fellow student in such a grave situation and it was about to bring the weapon into a very complicated situation.
“BLOOD!” Axel shouted out as he appoached the two of them - Jayce and Akahana since he was on the ground with her hand around his neck. Jayce was squirming and fighting and bucking, his arm partially transformed while his hand tried to pry her fingers off of him and in such a state of panic, he didn’t even notice the charging demon sword.

Keziah could see how deadly of a situation that could soon become and without a second thought, her eyes turned to Jason.
“We need to attack simultaneously, from opposite sides. Arc around and come in with me… as hard as you can.” Not leaving him with any time to ask questions, Keziah took a path hard to the left that would arc around and come it at Axel from his left, hoping that Jason understood he was to do the same from the right. Her own electric wavelength began to crackle in the hand that didn’t still hold Warren and it grew stronger and more deadly with each step.

Chances were that Akahana would see Keziah’s coming charge from the corner of her eye. A single strike of the blue bolt flashed within her view and it was intentional. Keziah wanted Akahana to see what was coming and she hoped the idiot who’d dared draw the demon sword’s attack would know well enough to get the fuck out of the way or get zapped to oblivion along with the deadly demon sword.

@Lilllysaurus Rex @Exanis @Deadeyelee

Alexander “Xander” Traynor and Alexis “Lexie” Traynor

Xander swayed to the side as Jack struck at his underarm. Even from such a simple dodge, it was clear that Xander’s body was well trained in combat and that his reactions were swift. Everything about his movements was smooth even as he twirled the gradually toxifying bowstaff in front of him when Jack flipped back. Glancing around at the comment on the ghosts, Xander shrugged nonchalantly.
“If you’re worried about the fact that I might’ve caused them, KID, then you don’t realize the half of what you’re up against right now!” It almost seemed as though Xander was scolding him.

Raising his eyebrow when Jack spoke to him again, Xander practically growled at the boy.
MY weapon needs to learn some respect!” he snapped back at him before charging straight for Jack and Kalin, reaching out to strike with Lexie as his weapon. “Good luck with proving that!” As the bowstaff moved in to strike, Xander’s intentions were not just to spar with them. The look in his eyes was deadly and the fury in his voice was evident as he swung at Jack’s left side.

Now here’s where things get interesting. Something happened with the weapon that Xander did not expect. It was not something he could see, nor something he could be aware of. The person who was aware of it would be the person who connected with the weapon - either Kalin or Jack or anyone who jumps in and intercepts.

A connection was made. Resonating ringing would sound through their ears like that annoying sound that could never be gotten rid of and in that moment, they would see it. They would see her. Lexie was within the bowstaff still - very much herself. Slowly sinking, she was, though. A pit of black tar laid beneath her and every moment sucked her deeper into the thickened liquid while her hand reached up.
‘HELP! Please…’ Her voice practically cried it out through that single second’s connection. Then the connection was gone.

Akahana Shima

The Hooded Terror

Akahana's mind was mostly focused on choking the hell out of this boy until his face turned blue. No one was allowed to strip her of her freedom...

Really, all she heard from him was an offensive comment, not an urge to kick into gear and stop fooling around. She wanted to see him in pieces... All over the floor, bleeding, screaming, crying, begging for mercy!

"I want to hear you beg."

She whispered to the squirming boy as she kept her balance on him. She had choked plenty of people in this fashion in the past, she was used to being bucked up and down like she was on a wild horse. She once choked a woman who spat on her to death. She was such an ugly woman, in soul and in face, so she pretty much did her future children a favor.

Her gaze instantly drew away from the boy and into the incoming malevolent force. She picked up the cry for blood instantly, being frozen for a good second. Someone coming to kill her? She hadn't had that in a while. It could be fun! She'd love to beat someone up other than some dumb boy! As she was about to rush head in and attack the man, loosening her grip on his neck, she caught a spark behind him. Keziah was right behind him coming up to attack him. Aww! She wanted to kill him! Not fair! Oh well, she should move.

Releasing his neck, but grabbing his shoulders quite tightly, Akahana caused her and Jayce to flip backwards out of the line of fire, her coughing hard when he landed on top of her. He was unexpectedly heavy...

"Saved your life, owe me now~"

She said, giggling and grinning innocently.

Felix
Felix had been caught off guard, to his utter disbelief. And now, some psychotic freak had nearly

choked his partner out. Not some psychotic freak. The psychotic freak. Mattias hadn't the slightest why she hadn't been expelled from this establishment. That didn't matter right now. What mattered was his partner, who he quickly hoisted off Akahana, after he placed his foot on the murderous psychopath's throat with a bit of force. "He doesn't owe you anything, you insane cow. He wouldn't have been in danger in the first place if you hadn't attacked him. Now either you get the fuck out of my sight, you actually fucking help, or I knock you the fuck out for impeding the rescue of the citizens of this city. Do you understand?!"

He then returned his gaze to Jayce, a tad bit of shame in his eyes.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention as I should have. My instructor would never let me hear the end of this. Are you alright?" He also surveys the aftermath of the Mace wielder and the other gentleman attacking the incoming demon sword, while keeping his foot firmly pressed on her throat. He was ready and waiting for a response, or for her to try something stupid, like try to grab his leg and torque, or buck, or any other manner of invitation to kick her ass. "Do we hop back into the fray after we deal with this freak, or do we need to retreat? If you're not alright, I can hold my own, or help you get out of here. Otherwise, I humbly ask you to once again take my hand." His face reddens in the slightest as he offers his hand. For some reason, this makes him uncomfortable. He cannot discern why.

Malakai Dreston and Isaac Perinnen

Malakai listened in as Nicolas was caught off guard, collected himself, and then explained his own familiarity with the situation. As Malakai had been about to ask about how to collect this box to contain the ghosts again, the face of a familiar student charged in. Jessyka told Malakai to go fight while she went to retrieve the box. ‘Well, she seems to be on top of things,’ Malakai considered as the pink haired meister ran off. “Nicolas, we’ll handle this mess. Just stay safe, and find what you need to. I can hold these… things off. Leave the hard work to us.”

After this statement, Malakai took off, hitting a few more creatures that made their way towards him. He continued to rush through the grounds, hitting any creatures that attempted to get in his way. “These things just keep coming.” Malakai mused. “Quite the little pests aren’t they?” Isaac responded.

“Now isn’t the time for your little outbursts, partner. We need to stay focused. Death City is in trouble, and we must do our part.” Malakai declared. Isaac sighed, and kept quiet after Malakai’s statement, seeing the sense in it.

As Malakai and Isaac went through the grounds, something caught his eye. He turned to face a nearby altercation. Well, well. That’s Xander, isn’t it? What’s he doing? Upon closer inspection, Xander seemed to be arguing with another meister that Malakai did not recognize. The altercation escalated quickly, and soon the other meister was attacking Xander. Xander dodged the attack, and returned with an attack of his own.

Without thinking, Malakai instinctively launched himself towards the fight, and grabbed the staff, halting Xander’s attack, giving the other meister a shove in the opposite direction to distance them from the attack. As Malakai made contact with Xander’s weapon, he was pulled into something, he didn’t quite know what. At the center, he saw a girl, who he recognized to be Lexie. She seemed to be slightly submerged in a black substance. “HELP! Please…” Lexie cried out. After that outburst, Malakai was removed from the space. What was that? What was happening to Lexie?

“What the hell do you think you two are doing?” Malakai snapped as he jolted back to his usual senses. Waiting for an answer, Malakai held Isaac’s weapon form - a chain whip - at the ready, eyes watching in case Xander charged right back in.

Kamryn "JJ" Vessot

Kamryn nodded as Thalia agreed, then started forward. She swung the large boomerang her partner currently was into any ghosts that got close, though she refused to throw Thalia. Not yet at least. She was noticing that, like with other meisters and their weapons, the ghosts seemed to freeze in place as Thalia passed through them. Interesting, and helpful. Sort of.

Her course stayed true, and she forced a path through crowds of fleeing civilians and ghosts. Her eyes stopped only briefly on the various fights breaking out, before they returned to Nicholas. Just in time to see Malacai take off into the crowd again. She frowed, but continued to head towards Nicholas. Best to let the other meister do his thing, as he was probably going to help somehow.

"Nicolas!" She called into the chaos as they drew closer, hoping to draw the man's attention. "Hey, Nicolas!" She called one last time, then fell silent for a few to continue to push through the unending tide of ghosts. It was a bit awkward to swing Thalia around like a sword. Her weapon form wasn't meant for that kind of fighting.

She stopped swinging Thalia as she drew close to the older man, and came to a stop in front of him, filling the space Malacai had only recently left.
"Nicolas, do you know what's going on here? What are we supposed to do about these things? We can't keep stunning them forever." She questioned, then paused to rethink said question. "You don't have to give the whole story... I saw Jessyka leave earlier, so I assume you've already got something figured out. Just tell us what you need us to do to help, until Jessyka gets back." She added on then fell silent again, and waited for the man's response. She knew the best way they could help was to fight, but how to do that was the question.

Aiko blinked letting out a light laugh in response to Ella's response just as she used a longer ranged swing against one of the ghosts, using the momentum to start spinning Ella in weapon form around her hand to help redirect some of the momentum to strike at a closer ghost before it could react again. She felt so restricted in her movements not able able to use her own body for her attacks, but it wouldn't do any good but leave her more open for attacks anyways. She grasped onto the large weapon, holding it in her hand having gained control of it once more before slicing a ghost once again.

"Ooo! I see.. but then what is a ghost then just a zombie without a body it sounds like? I mean if your mother created your dad's body it would seem like he would be all like 'OoooOOoooOOoooo! Floating ghost! OooooOoooo!' and all that." She spoke quite nonchalant with the situation at hand. It wasn't something Aiko even deemed worth trying to pretend to be serious about. She was very complacent about most situations she got herself involved into, most likely a factor of her own large self ego.

She pouted a bit swinging Ella around striking through what felt like very slightly thicker air at best. "At least zombies aren't jerks like ghosts and they let you at least cut them. So annoying they don't see to care about getting struck at all. I wonder if you could get like a vacuum and suck them up! Put that sucker on your back with one of those little hose thingies and just go pulling them in and get trapped inside! Though i suppose even if that did work, they could just be jerks and go right through it and escape."

She blinked hearing Ella mention a little boy. She turned her attention noticing him. She nodded a bit swinging Ella around quickly at one nearby poltergeist working to stun the floating pest briefly. She charged forward, jumping over a chair that had been tossed earlier by a ghost. She scrambled quickly, suddenly stopping as a ghost stopped in front of her, swinging Ella swiflty forward just as she saw some fellow students taking care of the child.

"Whew... still wish these damn jerk ghosts would just stay down." She commented quickly spinning around holding Ella tight as she sliced through another ghost. She couldn't help but glance over just as she vaguely saw Akahana vaguely form the corner of her eye as a situation seemed to be unfolding there, uncertain of what to do about it simply slicing through one of the ghosts in front of her in annoyance.

Jayce Hamerkin

Jayce was gasping and coughing as Akahana choked off his air supply and as such, he inhaled sharply as soon as his airway was open again. As the girl grabbed him by the shoulders, Jayce was still struggling against her grip doing anything and everything he could think of to escape her grip that threatened to kill him. Fear consumed him because for the first time since then, he actually thought he might lose his life. That hadn’t happened to him in way too long.

As they flipped and Jayce found himself on top of Akahana, his arm transformed, taking on the partial weapon form he possessed. Jayce started to slash at Akahana before someone else’s hands grabbed him and pulled him off of the girl. Slashing still, Jayce’s blade still managed to do some good as it sliced into a nearby poltergeist, freezing the thing for long enough for Jayce to realize it was there. It was only after that that he realized Felix was still nearby.

Seeing Felix’s outstretched hand, Jayce transformed again quickly and without saying anything. For him, it was more of an escape than anything else. When he was in weapon form, he knew that very few things could actually hurt him while he was like that.
‘Help where you will,’ Jayce spoke within the link that was established the minute the weapon landed in Felix’s hand. ‘Get away from her, though. I… I just can’t…’

Still in weapon form, Jayce was slowly but surely being sucked deeper and deeper into his own mind. Words echoed everywhere. “You were too weak to save her!” “Stop that! No one believes you’re really crying!” “We all know you’re just a scaredy cat!” The words bounced on and on, over and over again with no end to any of them at all. They just echoed and replayed and repeated themselves as he remembered that the last time he had been threatened to such a degree. He had transformed and remained a limp khopesh on the ground. And now again he was limp and a weapon, unable to move.

Hyperventilating within his weapon space, though his body had been able to fully catch his breath, the panic slowly consumed Jayce’s form. He was stuck now, lost. Even if he wanted to turn back, he wouldn’t have been able to.

Nicolas Kye

Nicolas’s attention was swiped away quickly when he heard another student calling his name. His head jerked to the side and he made eye contact with Kamryn as she approached, noting the weapon in her hand. “It’s already being taken care of, hopefully,” he answered with regard to the poltergeists. “Another meister ran off to get the Edolas Box. That’s the one thing that can contain them.” He had started talking before she told him not to give the whole story but when he caught on to that, he sighed.

“As for right now, I don’t know where my kids wound up and I can’t exactly go and look for them myself.” He gestured to the crutch under his arm as he said it in case that needed more explanation. “People have started to clear out and I still don’t see them.” Nicolas seemed quite concerned about that simple fact.

He did also notice that there seemed to be other forces at work although Nicolas honestly knew nothing about them. Xander he vaguely recognized as a DWMA student but he didn’t recognize Axel from anywhere and none of the mysterious women caught his eye either.
“I also heard someone yell ‘witch’ earlier. I’m not quite sure whether there was truth to that or not, but it’s quite disconcerting.”
