End of Summer Concert

Miyoko Oromo

Miyoko has never been unintelligent. Brash, arrogant, rude, unsophisticated, yes- but stupid? Never. She's not good with people, really; but Kassana's making it painfully obvious, in Miyoko's eyes, that she doesn't want the redheaded Meister around. It hurts a little, seeing someone stutter like that at the mere mention of her name- the first thought on Miyoko's mind that for some reason, Kassana is.. afraid of her? She recalls the scorpion, and idly wonders if she's the one who should be afraid of Kassana, rather than the other way around... but that would be rude.

So she smiles brightly at Kassana and gives her a thumbs up, grinning wide.
"Yo, was hoping to see you 'round here. I figured since practice went so well, it might be cool to hang out sometimes, yeah? I know, I know- you said you already had a Meister, so I won't try to push there- but it'd be nice to have a new friend, yeah?" She says brightly- leaving out the part where 'new' means 'one I hope lasts longer than a week'.

She turns and gives Lexie a thumbs up, smiling brightly- only to be caught by Zyra as she's just about to address what Lexie had to say. She smiles faintly at the newcomer- idly wondering how this meeting will go. Hopefully, better than most.

The Redheaded, Irish-Japanese Punk grins wide at Zyra, and gives her a mock salute with her left hand.

"Yo, names Miyoko Oromo, EAT Meister, nice to meetcha!" She says with a bright, friendly smile- a faint gleam in her dark violet eyes, as her wild red mane seems to catch the stage-lights just so to seem, for a brief moment, to glow as if aflame as she steps forwards through a stray sunbeam to hold out a hand to shake- her left extending towards Lexie, her right towards Zyra.

"So, nice to meetcha, Lexie! And- Zyra, is it? I was just about to take these two to the Concession stand, and pay for food for all three of us- care to join us, and make this threesome a foursome? It'll be nice to have a few people to keep track of each other with, if the concert turns into a mosh pit, yeah?" She says with a teasing, half joking, half serious smile- earnestly just hoping that they'll like her.

Alexis “Lexie” Traynor and Kassana Silverstream

Lexie smiled at Zyra the moment the girl walked over, even before she started talking. Slowly but surely, Lexie was beginning to realize that coming to the concert had been a good idea. She had so many friends that she hadn’t even thought of and making a few more was certainly going to be beneficial to her in the long run as well. Lexie swiftly shook her head at Zyra’s first comment. “Nope. You’re not the only one pumped for this concert,” she replied with a smile. “I’m thrilled as well. I barely even remember the last one I went to. It was when I was five, I think. I went with…”

Lexie trailed off at the memory. She had gone to the concert with her father and with her brother. It had been a small kindness her father had ever given to his two children while they were on the run. Of course, they hadn’t had tickets. Their father, being the criminal that he was, had broken them into the concert, but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. Suddenly, Lexie wasn’t sure if it would be good to mention that she had positive memories with her criminal father and her troublemaker brother.

Kassana turned to regard her friend, noticing Lexie’s sudden pause and expressing a small amount of concern. “You ok, Lexie?” Kassana prodded just a little bit.

Lexie briefly nodded, snapping out of whatever trance she had been lost in. “Yeah. Yeah. I’m fine…” She didn’t finish what she had been saying. She didn’t want to at the time. “Anyway, it’s been a while and I think this is going to be fun!”

Kassana nodded in agreement before her attention returned to Miyoko. “P-practice went w-w-well?” That simple point of hers confused Kassana. Their practice had ended with Kassana running away from Miyoko after her own soul space had rejected the meister. Although Kassana didn’t understand all of it, it still didn’t quite fit with her definition of ‘well’.

Lexie’s gaze turned, sensing Kassana’s confusion and she caught the tail bit of what Miyoko had said, mentioning that Kassana already had a meister. She slowly started shaking her head, correcting Miyoko’s misassumption. “K-K-Kassana doesn’t have a partner anymore. He… Aeryn… he…” A tear dripped down her face as she tried to explain what had happened to her boyfriend and Lexie was clearly struggling with saying it out loud.

Kassana turned, putting a hand on Lexie’s shoulder as she tried to calm her friend down a bit before she looked back to Miyoko. “P-probably best not to mention it again,” she sighed softly. Speaking then to Lexie, she said, “Still wanna get concessions, Lexie?”

Lexie nodded and put on a smile even though it wasn’t quite real. Waving to Zyra, she beckoned for the girl to join them. “Come on, Zyra! We’ve got room for one more and I’ve never known you to be one to turn down some girl time!”

Jayce Hammerkin

Jayce simply nodded when one of his classmates walked up and started talking to him. He looked around, a bit confused as to why she was talking to him when there were so many other people she could’ve been talking to. Usually his own classmates avoided him simply because even if students didn’t know what had happened, they usually tended to follow along with what his eldest classmates did; and that happened to be avoiding him. There didn’t seem to be any reason for Kamryn to be talking to him specifically, which left Jayce even more confused. He shrugged it off, though.

“Uhm…” he stuttered at first. He wasn’t really sure which question she would want him to answer first because she had asked him a fair few. “Well, I’m waiting for Alessa. She’s my partner… kind of. She’s not in our class so you might not know her,” he explained.

He shook his head at the offer of cotton candy. It wasn’t that he didn’t want any. Jayce simply didn’t want to intrude and take something that Kamryn had already paid for.

“I think it looks like they’ve got a good set-up,” Jayce commented. “That’s gotta be a good sign, right?” Jayce himself had never been to a concert so he wasn’t entirely sure how else one could have an idea of how the concert was going to go.

Shrugging, he added, “I’ve honestly never seen a concert before, but I’ve heard Walk the Bleeding Moon’s music. The sound good there so it can’t really be too different here, right?”

‘Scratch, scratch, scratch…’

The male had a soft, though false smile on his face as the pencil dragged across the page. He was thinking he was drawing the ocean, with a coral reef underneath the rolling, deep blue waves that lied underneath the vast sky, though it was really just a bunch of random colors that looked sort of like water, but that was really it. He had decided to sit and draw against a wall that sat by the sidewalk for a bit to pass the time; he didn’t quite know where the concert was located, though it was such a long time off he decided to take his time before asking someone to escort him. He hummed gently, appearing rather relaxed with his closed eyes and slow movements.

“C’mon, hurry, you freakin’ sloth!”

The hoarse voice of Zarren echoed through the slowly darkening streets, as Riven’s anechoic steps slowly approached the festival grounds. “We’re early as is.” she stated without any sense of urgency, then fell silent under the feline-like weapon’s protests. As their shadow melted into the silhouette of a strange boy Riven hadn’t seen yet, she slowed down, observing him for a few seconds. It wasn’t hard to sense a meister of a certain caliber, and so her curiosity was awoken, enough to drown out Zarren’s consistent complaining.

“Hello.”, she stated rather impersonal, “What are you drawing?”

Saiken was alerted to the voice of a girl, slowly allowed his head to rise as he clicked his tongue to identify her location. Looking directly at her with his milky pupiled eyes, he kept the false smile on his face.

“I’m drawing a coral reef.” He replied, his pencil still going even if he wasn’t looking at his paper.

“Were you disturbed by me drawing by the street?”

Zarren fell silent for a moment, his shoulders hanging through. Riven shrugged subtly. “No. It’s fine. Everyone is just going that way.” Her arm rose, and one slender finger extended and pointed towards the concert further down. “I guess I’m just surprised.” The weapon scoffed at his meister’s words, then rolled his eyes. “Great. Weirdo and weirder found each other. ‘s gonna be great!”

Riven’s lavender orbs parted from meeting Saiken’s gaze, instead eyeing towards the side of the way, if not for anything but avoiding direct eye contact. It wasn’t until her partner fell silent (and pouted harshly) she spoke up again. “Are you going?”

“Ah yes, the concert. I am going, but i’ve run into a slight problem.” He started off, completely ignoring Zarren. He was aware of the creature’s presence, but he didn’t think he was worth a talking to.

“I can’t really locate where it is, and well, street signs don’t come in braille.” He sighed, though kept a seemingly cheerful grin.

With a tilted head, Riven eyed the closest sign, then the boy again. Holding up her hands, she examined the fingertips for a moment, before she understood. Meanwhile, Zarren snickered. “This idiot can’t read, kiahaha…”

The meister held up a finger, trying to communicate to her weapon that he was to be quiet for a moment, then looked into the distance, eyeing the concert. “It’s not far. We can go together, if you wish.” She put on a neutral expression, which, in her case, was equal to a smile of average humans. “I’m Riven. This is Zarren.”

The weapon waved sarcastically enthusiastic.

Saiken heard Zarren’s comment of him being unable to read because of him being an idiot.

“Ah, I apologize Riven, but I must say this to your, ahem, friend.”

He suddenly stood up, shutting his drawing pad, tucking his pencil box and the book into his bag, which he threw over his shoulder. He walked until he was pretty close to the two, still bearing that soft smile.

“Ah. I can tell you though, Zarren was it? I am no idiot. I’ve read almost every book I can get my hand on, although I cannot read the words, I must read bumps. I’ve been blind for my entire life, and i’m quite sure I should be offended by you saying such a thing, so I should act accordingly.”

He looked directly at Zarren,

“So listen, you cat-like abomination, how would you like it if I said something to you that you didn’t like? You’d hate that, wouldn’t you? I’m sure even a beast like you can exhibit emotions like that. From how you even
sound, I can tell you’re the most obnoxious, disgusting, and ill-mannered thing I have met so far in my lifespan. You would not like to be my enemy, trust me.”

Riven exhaled from her nose a little bit, her already thin-lipped mouth slowly becoming even smaller, as her, admittedly limited, way of expressing amusement ran over her face. Zarren, on the other hand, seemed to turn a darker shade of black, his little arms crossed and his snout foaming. “DISGUSTING?!” he repeated, readying himself to fire back with just about any blind joke he has ever picked up. Fortunately, Riven stepped in. “You were excited for the concert, were you not?” she asked, her head turned slightly in an attempt to face her shoulder-spawned companion. “Don’t fight today.”

It was obvious that the weapon remained furious, his temper as wild as ever, but he instead stuck out his tongue and performed a gesture with his inferiorly fingered paws that most people would describe as obscene, then withdrew into Riven.

“Sorry. He’s difficult.” Riven apologized. “Do you still want to go with us, or would you rather I leave?”

“I’m fine with going with you two. I just wanted to put him in his place, so I apologize.”

He did a little bow, signifying his apology was genuine.

“Let us go, then.”

Riven nodded, and half-heartedly offered her hand for him to take for security. “Can you, er…” She stopped, unsure how to proceed. “Do you have a stick or something?” Riven hadn’t yet dealt with a blind person, and social interaction was a burden as it was already. The subject seemed touchy to her.

“No need for a stick; I got quite lucky.”

She nodded, unsure why she’d react for him, considering he couldn’t see. “You’re painting really well for someone who’s blind.”

“My first partner encouraged me to do it. I have been drawing for years.” He held his bag tightly, “I’ve gone through a lot of partners who have said the same thing. They all passed away, though.”

He said the last line like it was a dinner conversation.

Unfazed, Riven remained silent. “I’m sorry.” Her monotonous speech didn’t exactly lend her much sincerity, yet she wasn’t coming across as a liar, either. As the two (or three) made their way to the concert area, noise waved over to the duo. Occasionally, a glassy sound came from Riven’s frame, though it was only faint. “Can you do me a favor?” she asked. “Can you go in first?” The entry gate was just a few steps ahead of them now.

“Of course.” He said, walking in before her. He wasn’t quite sure why she’d want him to go in first, but it wasn’t like he was too interested in questioning her too much. She had her reasons and he wouldn’t butt into that.

With her new acquaintance walking into the area, Riven remained on his heels at all times. The guard respectfully made way for the disabled boy, and let the two on their way. A silent laugh escaped Riven, and she seemed vaguely pleased. “Thanks.”

After a few additional steps away from the gate, the lanky meister pulled out a glass bottle from the inside of her poorly fitted coat, and took a sip. “Do you like the bands that are gonna play?” Smalltalk wasn’t exactly her strong suite, and it showed in the way she squeezed out the casual question out of her throat. Meanwhile, Zarren popped out once again, his mouth already watering. “Candy! Giles, candy, now!”

Saiken faced the girl, exhaling softly out of his nose.

“I don’t know any bands, I just like listening to music. I don’t really have favoritism to the type.” He said, rubbing the back of his head, “Should I stop smiling?”

Riven eyed him with an empty expression. “Why?” she asked, genuine cluelessness seeping through her words. “Does your face hurt?”

“No, I’m just curious if it is making you feel fearful of me. I read holding a certain position or face for too long around others creates discomfort.”

Riven shook her head, and Zarren facepalmed, presumably at his meister. “It doesn’t bother me.” she stated, though Zarren felt compelled to add his two cents. “You look like a fool either way.” The weapon remained purposely quiet, seemingly unwilling to get into another argument as of now. “Most people say I’m weird, so I’m not a good person to ask, I don’t think.”

Zarren giggled hoarsely. “She’s a complete doofus, she doesn’t know jackshit, kiahah.”

Riven blushed, feeling embarrased. A feeling that rarely got to her to the extent it did now. She was relieved her newly made friend couldn't see. "Uhm... excuse me... I got to go. Have fu~"

She ran off before she finished her sentence, the sound trailing off with her.

"That was not okay, Zarren..." she complained, as she pulled out a bottle of adult-looking liquid in a secretive manner and started taking swigs.

"Stop cryin' ya AA reject."

Hotaru Yukishiro

Never had cotton candy before? Hotaru mouthed the words with slight surprise. Of course, there were always people out in the world who never had delightful treats before, but still. Cotton candy, what was not to love? Sweet, spun sugar, it was the staple of her childhood! But then Kalin started talking and she realized what it was. Peering at him avidly and stepping what some might consider too close for comfort, she said, "You're one of those students, aren't you?" She cocked her head and scanned his person for any evidence of what became so suddenly clear to her.

Weird or outdated clothing was usually a giveaway but that was rarely ever a consistent factor. Speech patterns was a good indicator. They were always confused by some aspect of modern society, had slight undertones of awe and formality to them, and the ever so obvious inferiority complex. Mentally going over what Kain just said, Hotaru smiled.
"I've been here for two years and I've barely got the chance to talk with naive, super-sheltered weirdo types like you. You don't happen to believe in bravery, chivalry, and courage do you?" She didn't care too much about the last bit, but she was very intrigued by the first part still rattling around in her head. Magic always got the best reactions from first-timers after all.

Shelving the thought for later (a very short later), she changed the subject.
"You're just going to be a bundle of fun." She held out her bag of popcorn to him in case he wanted a try. Knowing what something was hardly meant having experienced it before. "Nachos are the little chips, sometimes triangles, with cheese and other stuff on them. We're going to have to get you them later." Obviously, she couldn't just not join in on the fun. Speaking of fun, she prodded him in the shoulder and said, "Mikelson, huh? Son of Mikel? That's... Michael. Who is God's son? That's a foreboding last name. You gotta make it your own, none of this 'I'm not good enough for things' vibe you've got going for you. In fact..." And she trailed off thoughtfully.

Hotaru reached her hand out behind his ear, saying,
"What's behind your ear?" Snorting, she finished with "Nothing. It's actually behind mine." Shoving the popcorn bag unceremoniously into Jack's arms (well he was Kalin's partner, had to involve him somehow), her other hand grabbed at... well nothing, but they didn't need to know that. On her fingers were two rings, one decidedly gaudy and metallic with the whole snake eating its tail design it had that was very much her style and the other... Well, it was one of those lollipop rings. Extending her hand out, she wiggled her fingers before her other hand waved in front with a bit of flare and the rings were gone. With a smirk, she did it again, but the ouroboros ring was on her right index finger and the lollipop on her left.

"Choose carefully, one of these is a lollipop. I would assume you will be able to select the correct one without difficulty. This isn't a trick." Hotaru threw in a wink for the hell of it.

As she looked around, Thalia couldn’t help but feel like she was a bit late to the show. It was odd. The show hadn’t started yet so she didn’t see any reason why she should feel like she was late, but at the same time, she felt that way anyway. Most of the students who she knew seemed to already be there - even her partner Kamryn was busy already engaging in conversation and it looked like she had some cotton candy as well.

Cotton Candy!?

Her eyes widened vivaciously as she turned her head, scanning every corner of the square looking for the sugary treat that she would never ever turn down the opportunity to devour in its entirety. Concession stand. Cotton candy. Got it. Thalia made a beeline straight for the concessions stand. She waved to Kamryn as she past, but Thalia didn’t feel like interrupting whatever conversation she was having with Jayce so she left the wave at just a wave.

“Cotton candy, please!” Thalia called out once she reached the concessions stand, not really bothering to notice anyone else nearby. “The pink kind, please!” Thalia tossed a few bills on the counter and then she turned around, scanning the crowds again. She saw someone standing on their own and Thalia turned around and added a second stick of cotton candy to her order. “Blue this time, please!”
cotton-candy.jpg

Thalia took both sticks of cotton candy and walked over to a girl she had seen in class a few times over the course of the week. Thalia liked meeting new people and she felt like she should try to get to know her new classmates. Cotton candy seemed like a good way to start.

As she walked over, Thalia overheard something about someone crying and she was a bit surprised by that. She didn’t quite catch all of it, but that didn’t stop her from saying, “Someone’s crying?” She sounded slightly concerned. Walking towards the front of them, Thalia got a full glimpse of Zarren and was slightly terrified for a moment.

However, recovering quickly, Thalia held out the stick of blue cotton candy to the black creature emerging from Riven and said, “Uhm… do you like cotton candy? You can have some…” Her eyes turned to Riven and she shrugged apologetically, adding, “I’m sorry. I would’ve gotten two if I’d known there were two of you. I only saw one person so I didn’t think to get more.” Thalia pulled a chunk of cotton candy off of her own stick and offered the fuzzball to Riven.

“I’m Thalia, by the way. I think I saw you in class this week, right?”

Sarah Sparks & Lauren Sparks

-:- On a Terrace -:-

As much as the twins liked being alone, even this was a bit much. Sarah looked down at her tea glass, now empty, and figured maybe their time alone was finally finished. Lauren looked over at her sister and smiled. Both of them had been unsure about the concert at first because their tastes in music were different from most people, but the simple fact was, music was music. As long as you had the right mindset, any music could be enjoyed.

"
Should we go down there?" Lauren asked her sister calmly.

Sarah nodded, "
Lets" with a slight giggle afterwords.

-:- Main Concert Area -:-

Taking each others hand, the got up from their table and left a small tip before moving off the terrace and down into the crowd. As they moved closer, the Twins observed an open spot. The center of the stage area was packed, with concessions to one side a ways, and in the corner with some tables for those people, there was a fairly large open area behind the main crowd. This is were the Twins headed.

Having had already eaten, there was no reason for food and they saw no one they knew, so the two did what they knew best, entertain each other.

Kind of just messing around Sarah pulled Lauren and she was flung out away from Sarah. Following through, Lauren spun once, throwing her arm out straight, before spining back in exactly the same way. Sarah caught her and leaned down, Lauren in arm. Lauren kicked a leg up with great form, showing her brightly colored panties off without a care as she kicked off with her other foot and spun over Sarah's arm. Lauren landed on her feet to great effect to those around them. Both girls just busted out laughing.

"
How long as it been since we danced to swing?" Sarah asked, full of energy.

"
I don't know, but it still feels great." Lauren replied, laughing more after.

Both girls extended their arms in front of them and grabbed hands. Pulling in close, then backing out. Pulling in with a twist, then back. Repeating to the opposite side. Finally one hand broke free and the girls fully extended before coming back. The entire time their foot work was the most amazing part. Every once and awhile, Sarah jumped over Lauren's leg or Lauren slid inbetween Sarah's without her butt touching the ground. Casual dance moves they had learned through dance class, cheerleading and youtube. Though most people paid no mind. It's not as if dancing at a concert was unheard of.

Both girls laughed as they continued, not showing off to much like they had initially.

Dakota paused in her reading for a second, almost sure there was a new shadow on her book. However, she was quick to shrug it off and keep reading. However, by the time she was ready to turn the page, her peaceful reading was interrupted, and she found herself ripped from her book at the last paragraph on the page. So close. With a sigh, she held up a finger, indicating that she'd only be a second, and quickly finished the page before she marked her spot and shut the book, to look towards the source of her interruption. However she found herself being offered fries by a boy she did not in any way know, and reality smacked her in face. Nerves returned, and the usual shaking in her hands did too. To prevent that from showing, she quickly set her book down to her free side, and hid in hands in her lap.

Her eyes lingered on the offered food, until she finally spoke.
"N-no thank y-you..." She replied in regards to the boy's offer, and then watched as he struggled to sit down for some reason. His next question though, after he finally settled himself on the bench, had her curious. Food? How was food important... Apparently it was very important to this boy. She waited silently for him to finish talking, her eyes focused on her lap. 'Who's Zyra?' She wondered slightly was the name came up, before she shoved it away, still amazed by this boy's obvious obsession with food.

"I... D-don't really l-like to ta...talk..." She stammered out, then paused and rethought her answer. "Ah... N-not that I d-don't like the co-company..." She added on, attempting a smile as she finally looked to the boy, only to have her eyes dart back down again. "Foods o-okay... I-I guess..." She commented, not really sure how to react to the other's many words on food. She was still shocked at suddenly having to make conversation, and her nerves were really getting the best of her.

Her gaze drifted away from her lap, over into the crowd, looking for any new recognizable faces. She only found that Jack and Kalin had been joined by the magician from the Ice Cream Social, and she frowned a little, still unsure where the twins were at. Remembering her conversation and not trying to be rude, she turned back to the boy.
'Why is he so fond of food...? It's just food...' She wondered, glancing from his fries to his face a couple of times before her gaze stayed on his face. This boy is odd. Then again, she is odd too, and so are most of the DWMA student body. She'd learned that much in her time here in Death City.

Zyra Harriot

Zyra listened to the redhead, amused by the girl's brash way of speaking. But how her hair seemed to glow like dancing flames really caught the Weapon's attention. She stared in awe at the hair, almost wanting to reach out and touch it. She had seen some interesting hair during her time at the DWMA, but these flowing locks beat out almost every other set she had ever seen. In fact, she had felt insecure at times when she compared her own normal blonde hair to the striking colors of the other girls (and even some boys) at the school.

Zyra returned Miyoko's smile, copying her salute also, though she didn't put as much effort into the gesture. "
A pleasure to meet you, Miyoko. I don't know how I could forget another EAT student. I'm really sorry. To be honest, I'm surprised my own Meister hadn't said anything about you. You seem like the kind of person who would catch his attention rather easily. He's a bit of a...scatterbrain, I guess. Daemon Alexanders, if the name rings a bell at all." Zyra had lost sight of her partner, but she trusted he wouldn't get into too much trouble while she was spending time with some other girls.

Zyra noted Lexie's distraught at Aeryn leaving. Seems like it hurt her pretty deep. Zyra wished she could sympathize with her, but the blonde didn't know the feeling of someone leaving her. All she knew was leaving others and...well, taking others away. The memories of her childhood tried to rush into her mind, but she stopped them behind a mental barrier to prevent herself from getting emotional as well. She didn't want to encourage Lexie to cry as well, at least not when they were in public. Zyra made a note to talk to her in the future and try to offer her condolences.

Zyra chuckled. "I rarely ever get any girl time. The only girl time I get is alone time. Other than that, it's usually Daemon I hang out with a lot of the time. Not saying he isn't a great person to spend time with. Just been needing a little more change in my life as of late." Zyra pulled the last strand of cotton candy off of the stick she was holding. After putting it on her tongue, she enjoyed the slight euphoria of sweetness wash over her taste buds. She then proceeded to spin the stick around between her fingers. "I don't eat much, so I think I'm okay on food for now. But I'll definitely come with you all, if you all don't mind that much."

Daemon Alexanders

Daemon listened to the girl stutter. She seemed nervous in the way she moved. He watched her put her hands in her lap, almost like she didn't want anyone to see them. He placed a few more fries into his mouth, beginning to talk even though he hadn't finished what he was chewing already. "Sut yousef...bu you shou really get some food. Is good." He swallowed the mass of potatoes, giving a satisfied sigh afterwords.

"
Since my metabolism has been really good lately, I haven't been worrying about eating a lot. I just work it off later on. When I was younger, before Zyra took me with her, I was way more chubby. Like..." Daemon looked down at his hands, adjusting them out to his sides. He tried to guess how big he had been. When he felt he got the right size, he held his hands a few inches out to either side. "That big! Zyra had said I was a mess, and after we left my family, I started learning how to wield her as a weapon." He remembered how hard she had worked him in order to whip him into shape so he could defend himself. "It was tough, but she was a cool teacher!"

Daemon suddenly remembered something very important, and he slapped his fist onto his hand as the thought came to him. He turned to the girl and smiled brightly. "
I forgot! I'm Daemon Alexanders. I go to the DWMA, as an EAT student. It's also funny because I like to eat a lot." Daemon lent back on his hands, looking down at the girl's lap. "Also, why do you hide your hands? Are they cold? Or maybe you don't like how they look?" Daemon grabbed his jacket, pulling it out to show her the bagginess of it. "I'm the same with my body, too. I used to hate how I looked, so I always wore this jacket! It's really cool how it's managed to fit me for so long, don't you think?! And why don't you like to talk? I know a lot of people don't like to, but it's boring when you never say anything. Makes everything dull. That's why you gotta just...let it out. Like singing! I bet you're the type of person who would love to sing!"

Spinning on his butt, Daemon turned so his body was facing the girl, an excited smile on his face. "
I bet you have a killer singing voice! And I can be your company if you want. Other people seem to have company, and since I don't, maybe we can be each other's company! That sounds fun!"

Jack and Ella

Jack’s arms instinctively wrapped around the popcorn bag as it was unceremoniously shoved into them. However, his attention was on the magician who was displaying her feats of “magic”, his violet eyes lighting with interest behind his glasses. They were tricks of course. Jack wasn’t born yesterday. He knew how her sort of magic worked. It was still entertaining nonetheless. Popping a couple kernels Hotaru’s popcorn in his mouth, Jack grinned as he watched the rings disappear and re-appear, each on in a different hand. “Nice.”

The switches had likely occurred when Hotaru waved her hand in front of the ring-fingers. Yet Jack couldn’t deny her prestidigitation skills. At the very, least Jack hadn’t caught her in the act. Eyes flickering over to Kalin, Jack wondered what sort of reaction his partner would have to the older girl offering him a lollipop ring. It was nice to see some genuinely friendly EAT students, besides Ella. Of course, in Ella’s case, she bordered on too friendly to be normal.

Isn’t there a proverb about accepting candy from strangers?

Jack’s gaze darted briefly to his ever-fickle cousin. Apparently, after recognizing yet another friend from school—was Ella always this popular?—, the pink haired half zombie had released Kalin’s arm and hurried to the nicely dressed girl choosing to cling to that girl’s arm instead.

“Aiiiiiiiiiko!”

She’s pretty cute.

“I’m so happy to see you! You should have told me you were coming to the concert. Then we could have gone together~!”

Looking away from the pair of pink haired girls, Jack took the time to survey the concert area from where they stood near the concession stand, looking for anyone else he might recognize. Naia, the tall, exotic-looking girl from his NOT class, was sitting on a bench enjoying some cheese and pretzels. There was also Dakota and a boy he didn’t recognize talking to her.

Probably trying to flirt.

Suddenly, Jack caught, from the corner of his eyes, a couple of blondies just as they disappeared into the crowd.

The twins?

Removing the die from his pocket, he flipped it, watching lazily as the cube spun in the air before catching it in the palm of his hand. Peering at the number, Jack nodded to himself. The number four. While Kalin was still gobsmacked by the magic trick, Jack walked over to the concession stand, which was practically right next to them, and quickly bought a tray of cheesy nachos with jalapenos, another candy fl—cotton candy for Ella, and two caramel apples shaped like a skull. Passing Keziah Swan, who he’d recognized because she did a demonstration for the Sergeant’s class, Jack gave her a nod of greeting before returning to Kalin and Hotaru with all the food(and Hotaru's popcorn) in hand.

“Haha, you’re pretty weird yourself Miss Magician,” Jack said easily as he handed Kalin the tray of nachos, a friendly smile to show that he meant no real offense. “Got anymore ace tricks up your sleeves?”

Giles Riven & Zarren

Name: Giles Riven

Location: Concert grounds

Riven jumped a little as the foreign voice sounded immediately behind her. She hadn't expected anyone to be this close by, plus, Zarren's heckling had preoccupied the girl's attention. The glassy crimp of something inside her coat's large pockets went off once more, chiming hectically, almost like a windspiel in a stiff breeze. Riven seemed to fumble, her back still turned to Thalia, though Zarren's attention was focused on the girl, particularly towards the hand holding out the cotton candy. His massive tongue ran over the upper edge of his snout, saliva dripping.

"Who DOESN'T like cotton candy? Kiahahaha." his hoarse voice replied, not bothering with an introduction. "Now THAT's a god damn useful student!" he exclaimed in raspy words, quickly stuffing his face with the sticky food. Riven had since pulled up her coat once more, though the slight movement of the fabric indicated it'd slip down again at any given moment. Her lavender-colored irises seemed jittery, almost, but clearly fixed upon's Thalia's outstretched hand holding the little ball of webby looking candy. For a short moment, the silence between them was palpable, with nothing but Zarren's eating noises seeming audible.

"Thank you..." the meister replied after what was very clearly too long of a time to react. A long, slim arm rose, reluctantly taking the candy, though her inhibiton seemed to be less directed at Thalias as much as seemed like a bodily function, like a malnourished child developing off motions under the burden of underdeveloped muscles. Something of that nature. Riven pulled out what seemed to literally be a singular string, rolled it around between her pale fingers and eventually shoved the result, a tiny ball of cotton candy, in her mouth. Her awfully small mouth remained a thin line. As she chewed, she was reminiscent of a baby goat chewing on too much grass.

"Please don't worry about it. It's really nice of you." Riven assured her, trying her hardest to express her gratitude properly. The candy found its way down her throat, and Riven nodded with brief, hectic motions. "I've been in class, yes. I'm sorry if I did not talk to you before. I kind of..."

"Che shtraggluhs cheyin achenchion!" Zarren opined loudly. And wet. A loud gulp later (he swallowed the entire mouthfull at once) he repeated "She struggles payin' attention. She's dumb, ya know?"

Riven pushed her index fingers against one another, seeming a little embarrassed. "It is nice to mee you, Thalia. I'm Riven. This is Zarren."

She ruffled up her hair, her gaze falling off to the left of Thalia. Despite the age gap, it seemed as if Riven was feeling inadequate for further conversation. "So... uh... do you like the musicians or are you just here 'cause everybody is?" She blushed, realizing how unsocial she sounded. "I mean... Events can be fun without the music, too, yeah..."

Kalin

There was little that Hotaru could have said to make Kalin more uncomfortable than he was now. What you hold dear is outdated and stupid. That name you've been trying to earn since the day you've been born? You're not going to deserve it till you're a paragon. Just the way she said those students made him want to crawl in a hole. But that's what he deserved, right? Until he got his self together. Until he proved he good be a good weapon, even though he was no more than a mongrel. Not to mention, 'Fun' rarely had positive connotations in his experience.

So it was of no surprise to him when her hand even neared the side of his face, he winced involuntarily, his eyes closing until he realized the intent was not to harm. Then he just felt awful and cowardly. But what was she doing? Kalin's eyes followed the magician's hands, but saw nothing. His face contorted in confusion, and he mimicked the motions of the illusionist's hands with his own, trying to figure out what he missed. Finally he shook his head, gesturing his palms up. "I...guess that's magic? W-Wait. I get the Candy?" Though he neglected the saltiness of the popcorn, Kalin could never seem to pass up small sweets.

Not a trick? That its self had to be a trick. His head peers around each hand, his hands jammed into his pockets. What is it? He'd played plenty of games like this before. Except he wasn't sure there even was a right answer back then. He shook his head. How many levels deep was this mind game? How could he know? He makes an anguished groan before reaching into his pocket for a penny, flipping it. Heads.

He tentatively reaches out to point at the candy ring. "T-This one?" He looks warily at the oroborus ring, as if he expects it to bite him.

Aiko blinked a little surprised hearing a voice call out loudly to her as she was shuffling to the crowd. It had taken her by surprise that it was Ella who she was sneaking over, seemingly darting to her and grabbing hold of her arm. She blinked, smiling awkwardly at first as the girl gripped her arm. She seemed to adjust a bit as any awkwardness slipped away from her face. She wasn't the type that usually liked to be suddenly grabbed or touched suddenly without warning. Ella she had become comfortable enough that she could at least resist her urges.

"Hey you!" She spoke with a bright smile, looking to the girl. She hadn't really expected to see her truthfully here, though more so out of her own real lack of thought about it. She was far to focused on what she could do at the concert to even really wonder about who she might see there. It did leave her quite pleased though to have her around. Besides... she did bring some cute guys!

"Well, I suppose so, I do like to kind of do my own thing! Besides, we ended up meeting up in the end. It also let you bring some cuties with you too!" She spoke with a light laugh looking over to Jack a brief look before glancing to Kalin who seemed more distracted by Hotaru. She gave jack a playful wink before shifting her attention back to Ella for now. She could always have her 'fun' after... though it seemed as if she would have to pry them from Hotaru's grasp. It made her give a stern look at her as if she was some competition for her own spotlight. Why are they so amazed by such stupid little tricks anyways... She thought to herself, not really knowing the full extent of what she was doing though quickly dismissing her before bothering to do so.

"So how have you been? Taking all the guys for yourself there or can I have some? Not that there isn't enough people here, but you got two good looking guys!" She spoke with a light giggle looking at the girl with a bright smile. She had enjoyed Ella's company, sharing quite a bit with her then she would of ever expected. Well, outside the whole zombie part. Then again Aiko had joked about it early saying 'the only difference is my flesh rots just a bit slower and can't be stopped' as a little joke to it.

With a flourish and a roll of her eyes, Hotaru took the ring pop off and handed it over to Kalin. Honestly, what an embarrassment. As if the other ring could be anything other than inedible. Not everything was a trick with her. Though the lollipop was colored deceptively red and didn’t taste like watermelon or cherry or strawberry at all. Life lessons worth learning were happening right here and she wouldn’t want to hinder education and personal growth by telling him the real flavor.

Aiko, like her rightfully earned nickname, came in a blur. A giggly (unsurprising) and stern (still unsurprising given the context) blur. Hotaru raised an eyebrow back, shooting cocky glances between Aiko and her audience at the interruption. She said,
“Of course you can have them. Don’t you think a 13 year old is a bit young for your type of attention, though?”

Suda.Ayaka.full.1829159.jpg
Abruptly, the lights dimmed and the dinn of the crowd hushed as everyone turned their eyes to the stage. Nothing happened for a moment as the bustling of the crew could still be heard before a spotlight turned on, focusing on the right wing. A blonde woman sauntered out and some of the more musically inclined of her audience cheered as she stepped up to the microphone stand at the center of the stage. Winking, she blew a kiss to them.

She cleared her throat and waited for them to settle down.
“Hello, hello, hello!” While her words were typical from any bubbly announcer girl, she drawled it out in such a way that coupled with her haughty tone, she sounded more like she belonged in a dimly lit, smoky, jazz bar than in front of a crowd of greasy youths.

“If you don’t know me by now, though I’ve no idea what rock you’ve been living under to not,” she chuckled, “I’m Lorelei Wagner, singer, dancer, composer, superstar if you haven’t heard. And today, I am your Mistress of Ceremonies for this lovely concert hosted by the wonderful, up and coming, A-Muse!” She paused and the audience took this as their cue to clap even if they hadn’t heard of either before. Social obligations after all.

Lorelei gave them a simpering smile and said,
“Now, the moment many of you have been waiting for, the first band of tonight: Undirection!” She threw her arm out to the right and let the band come on stage before she exited swiftly to the left.

Hotaru admitted to herself that she was more than slightly impressed with the way Lorelei handled the crowd. Elbowing Aiko in the ribs, she smirked.
“Well, it looks like she stole away any attention you ever could have had just by stepping out. How’re you going to beat that?” The band continued setting themselves up and the more avid fans rushed towards the stage. Hotaru stayed standing solidly on as she watched the beginnings of what could become a rave.

Remembering Kalin and his hopelessly sheltered life, she asked
“This is your first concert, no? Well, they’re not usually like this. ‘Mistress of Ceremonies’ is sort of a pretentious title, but knowing Lorelei Wagner, it fits. This is just the appetizer, though. The real show starts later.”

At that moment, the band members had officially taken up their positions on stage and the sound of their countdown was just barely picked up through the microphone.
“One… two… one, two, three, four!”

Tiffany Griffan’s eyes, meanwhile, were focused far away from the center of the stage. In fact, her eyes hadn’t once focused on the band. Instead, her attention avidly followed Lorelei as she walked off the stage and let the band take over the show.
“Well, that’s definitely her. She looks different than I remember…” she mumbled, more to herself than to her companion.

Turning to look at the woman standing beside her, Tiffany looked her up and down before grimacing slightly. Yes, she had mentioned a disguise, but the costume was a bit much even for her. A small growl emanated from the back of her throat before she addressed the woman directly.
“No, it has not begun yet, but we’re about to begin. Keep an eye out for any of the…” Tiffany struggled as she searched for the right word. She glanced at some of the DWMA students who were present and they were surprisingly not concerning.

“Ya know… none of these kiddos look particularly threatening. You ever have any problems with any of ‘em?” Tiffany had honestly been prepared for more gusto. Shrugging, Tiffany walked into the crowds, her feet carrying her to the edge of the stage following Lorelei Wagner. As she wove through the people, she glanced back and said, “Anyway, just keep an eye on ‘em anyway.”

Sarah Sparks & Lauren Sparks

This was it!!! Both of the Twins were super excited and rather stoked. Getting themselves jazzed up over the last few minutes by dancing and laughing. The soft glow of what was left of the sun forming their outline, and the artificial glow of lighting to the front added to the sparkling of the glitter upon their cheeks. No worries, no cares, living only for this moment, for this instant. It was unlike anything either of them had experienced, and it was the most invigorating experience in the entire world. And the real fun hadn't even started.

The roar of the crowd died down as a woman came on and started to speak, but her words were lost to the ages. The twins kept dancing, not paying attention, and after the woman finished, walking off the stage, the lights everywhere dimmed. Wide eyed and super excited, the Twins both turned, still holding hands, and watched the stage. As each member of the band came out on stage and the lights shone brightly on each on, without missing a beat, a barely audible count could be heard and the band dug right into their show.

With grins ear to ear, the sounds of each, the drums, the guitars and above all
his vocals, the twins were overly flooded with emotions, almost drug like. Naturally they began to jump, threw their hands up in the air and as if they were synchronized, screamed like the excited little girls they were, at the top of their lungs, that could probably be heard by most.

"
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

"
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!" Lauren blurted out after the scream, accidentally.

Sarah turned to look at her sister, "
I LOVE YOU TOO!!!" She screamed back.

"
Huh?" Lauren looked confused yet still overjoyed, still being crazy and jumping, "No I meant him" Pointing at the main vocalist. "But I do love you too!!!"

Sarah just laughed, followed by Lauren laughing and then after pausing, Both girls closed their eyes tightly and screamed as loud as they could again with excitement!!!

Kamryn shrugged and pulled another piece of her cotton candy free. She popped it in her mouth, and listened to Jayce as he answered her many questions. As soon as she was finished with her bite, she launched into speaking again. ”Well, your partner has a nice name. I don’t recognize it though, so hopefully I get to meet her sometime! I assume that the set-up is good… I don’t really know. It looks cool though.”

Jayce simply nodded, glancing behind him once as though watching for Alessa again. He still didn’t see her and it saddened him just slightly. However, his attention was quickly snapped away from that by the silencing of the crowd and it drew his eyes towards the stage. “Well, it looks like the show’s about to start. I guess we’ll find out whether the band’s any good or not,” he replied simply, shrugging once and gesturing towards the woman on stage who really didn’t say much. If Jayce didn’t know any better, he’d think she just walked up there for the attention; surely a band could introduce themselves, right?

Kamryn turned towards the stage as she nodded. She clapped along with the rest of the crowd, though she wasn’t really paying a lot of attention to what the Mistress of Ceremonies was saying. ”I don’t think I’ve heard Undirection’s songs before, though the name sounds cool and I’ve heard about them.” she commented as the band took the stage.

The song started playing. Thunder of music boomed in Jayce’s ears and for a moment, he wasn’t sure if he could talk loud enough to continue their conversation. “Well,” Jayce yelled as loud as he could - so loud that it actually hurt his throat. “Shall we join the crowd!!?” He figured that was the best option they had at the moment. Conversing further was pointless and they were there to enjoy a concert.

Absently, Jayce reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, clicking it out of sleep mode to see if he had any messages. Maybe Alessa had sent him something. Nope. Nothing. He sighed softly but slid it back into his pocket and looked up to Kamryn with a slight smile, gesturing for her to follow him into the crowd.

Kamryn turned to face Jayce. She decided not to shout back, and simply nodded for the sake of convenience. As Jayce checked his phone, she turned her attention away briefly, to scan what she could of the crowd. Thalia was here somewhere, she’s caught a glimpse of her earlier. Unable to spot her partner, she returned her focus to Jayce with a shrug, and followed him into the crowd.

Warren meandered through the crowds, pushing his way past people as he offered anyone and everyone his autograph. The boy didn’t really pay attention to who seemed to want them and who didn’t seem interested, either. In his mind, there was no reason for anyone to refuse a signature from ‘The Great Evening Star’ and anyone who did wasn’t in their right mind. So he gave one to almost everyone.

Slowly he was making his way closer to the main stage, determined to jump up onto it and truly get the show started the right way. The microphone was wide open, free for the taking. Until it wasn’t. A woman walked out on stage and Warren almost scoffed at the way she talked - it seemed as though she
wanted the attention, and what was worse was that she didn’t even notice him! She proceeded to announce some band that would be coming on stage and Warren’s face crinkled. Did she really think that any band could put on a better show than him?

“Hey lady!!” Warren yelled out, trying to get Lorelei Wagner’s attention as she walked off stage. However, it seemed his exclamation was a little late as the sound of the countdown and then music soon flooded his ears.

Warren started walking towards where Lorelei had walked. He had no interest in watching some band steal his show and he needed to make sure that this woman understood how grave of a mistake she had made by failing to notice him in the crowd. Before he could get there, though, another sound pierced his ears. It was the sound of screaming fangirls.

“No I meant him!” Warren heard the words.

The boy swiftly turned, balancing on the balls of his feet as he charged towards the voice.
“Fiiinnnallllyyyyyy,” he breathed a sigh of relief. “Someone’s actually taking the time to notice the real star here!” It was clear that Warren hadn’t actually seen who Lauren had been pointing at. He just assumed she had been talking about him. Who else could possibly be more important?

“So, what kind of show can I give you today!? You know you are looking at the next Death Scythe, right?”

Nicolas Kye and Abigail Kye

There was something subtly attracting to the eye about the pair of individuals who stood on the very edge of the cheering crowd as soon as the music started to play. The two of them were a couple - that much was evident by their hands interlocked between their bodies and the lack of distance filling the space in between them. And if someone actually stood by and listened to the way they talked to each other, that would’ve made it obvious as well. Both of them appeared to be somewhere in their thirties; the woman looked slightly younger than the man. They were about the same height by all appearances. That could’ve been unclear though. And the reason was fairly obvious. The man was leaning on a krutch.

The face of the man was not an uncommon sight within the city. He happened to be Nicolas Kye, owner of a local Cafe called Serenity Avenue. Although his family had recently gone on vacation and the little shop had been closed down for a while, he still had every intention of returning to his little business and keeping things running. It was a common hang out place for students and also tended to draw most of its employees from the DWMA.

“Well dear,” Nicolas sighed, turning to look to the woman beside him. “We should probably find a place to sit down. I already lost track of the kids, but I don’t think anyone here will allow them to get into too much trouble.” He seemed saddened by the fact that they needed to sit, but the woman didn’t comment on it. She simply led him off to the side.

“I have never known the academy to raise anyone who would not look after a child, even at an event like this,” his wife - Abigail - commented to him as she helped him to sit down on a bench. “And you know how badly Emma wanted to come.”

Nicolas sighed softly before smiling. “Of course, dear. Of course.” He gently tugged on Abigail’s shirt, pulling her down to sit beside him so that he could wrap his arm around her. Both of them settled down, seemingly comfortable. Their eyes scanned the crowd, wondering if they’d see either of their two children peek out anytime soon.

Emma Kye

All that ran through the little girl’s mind at the moment was the fact that she was in so much trouble. She couldn’t find Ross anywhere and he had been her responsibility. Her head turned frantically, looking every which way but it was impossible for the short nine year old to see anything substantial through the thick crowd of students that she had woven her way into.

And it only got worse when the music started playing. The people around her started jumping and cheering. Not only was Emma blind, but now she was deaf to any signs of her little brother as well. “ROSS!” she cried out. Her little voice didn’t stand a chance against the booming music and the thumping of the bass, though.

Poor little Emma plopped down in the middle of the crowd and started crying. She was sad because she had been given a responsibility and she failed. She was sad because she wanted to listen to the music, to jump and cheer like everyone else - Undirection was one of her favorite bands of all time, after all. However, her need to find her little brother - something that now seemed hopeless - prevented her from enjoying herself.

Ross Kye

If Emma was short, then Ross was tiny as he made his way through the crowds. Being only five years old, he was too short to even be visible to the people he was walking around and underneath as though they were simply pillars creating a weaving hallway for him to walk through. It almost seemed as though Ross didn’t even see any of it; he was too busy exploring.

“What’s this?” Ross’s hand reached out and grabbed a long black piece of fabric, not realizing that it was attached to a person. In fact, the fabric was so entirely covering that the person probably kept walking for a moment longer before they felt the tug created by the little boy’s hand on her dress.

Dakota blinked, puzzled as the boy continued to talk. She listened as he talked about his past with his partner. The simple fact that he was still there kept her nerves up, and her hands stayed hidden as she watched him. 'I don't get it...' she mused mentally, then decided to give up on trying to understand why he was still attempting a conversation.

She jumped a little as he looked like her remembered something important. He did the whole hand fist thing and looked to her. She met his gaze with rather worried eyes, only to find she didn't need to be so worried about what he'd thought of. He was simply introducing himself. Then, the topic moved to something she'd really much rather avoid, and her gaze moved to her hands quickly, though she noticed as he pulled at his jacket. He moved on to asked about her dislike of talking, and ended up making her shrink into herself a little more.

"O-oh... My n-name is Dakota... I'm a NOT student..." She started after he finally stopped talking, though she shifted more towards her book when he spun towards her. "M-my hands are fi-fine... T-talking just isn't s-s-something I like to do..." She continued to answer his questions, though she didn't look at him, preferring to stare at her hands. Talking really wasn't her strong point, that much was obvious to most. So it made her wonder more why he was so set on getting her to talk for a few moments, before the thought was pushed away again for a while.

"I've n-never tried to sing b-before... So I-I don't know about that." She added on in response to his singing comment. She supposed singing was a possibility, but she really did not think she'd be very good at it. Finally her gaze moved from her hands, over to Daemon, though she didn't move much other than that. "I-I guess... I'd like the company..." She finished finally. That took way more effort on her part than it would for most people. She looked to her hands again.

Much to her relief, the concert started quite soon after she finished talking, and she glanced to the stage to see the Mistress of Ceremonies talking. She didn't really listen to what was said, more focused on her own nerves and trying to chill out a little. The band moved onto the stage, and loud music flooded the area, which soon became the focus of Dakota's attention, as she lifted her gaze to the stage, though they were a ways away from it, and she took in the band that was the source of the music.

Sarah Sparks & Lauren Sparks

After having their fit of excitement, the music going full tilt, and the beat making their bodies move on their own with every curve they possessed, the endless entertainment was suddenly barged into by another. The young man, dressed casually had seemed like nothing spectacular. Both the girls laughed, not at him, just in general. The whole situation was just laughable as it all continued to flow. However, when he asked what kind of show he could provide for them today, that's where Sarah's mind turned a little more to the promiscuous side of things.

Ignoring what he said about the death scythe, she stepped back behind Lauren. Kind of zoned out, Lauren just had her arms up and was moving methodically to the rhythm of the music. Sarah on the other hand, took her hands and wrapped them around Lauren lightly. One arm just under Lauren's breasts, the other at an angle across Lauren's waist. Their bodies touching almost like a lover's embrace. Matching her movements, Sarah tilted her head a little to the side of Lauren's and Lauren leaned back a little. With a toothy giggle, Lauren said, "
Sissy that tickles~" Somehow ignoring the fact a male was in front of them.

Sarah giggled lightly before nudging Lauren to realize they had a spectator. With glitter laiden soft expressions, highlighted by eyeshadow matching each girl's own clothing, and contrasted with sleek black eyeliner; their eyes softly narrowed but only slightly. Lauren dropped her arms down and wrapped them behind Sarah, touching just the base of her back.

Sarah spoke in sensual tone, barely audible, but audible, over the Crowd and the Music, "
The real question, is what kind of show can we give you today, Mr., Future, Death Scythe?" A wide grin coming across her face.

As the tall figure stood there, remaining hunched over like before, awaiting an answer to their apology, something seemed off about the way her appearance collided with Tiffany's. "They are very aggressive.", a mumbled, breathy and very feminine voice sounded from behind the collar. An aching noise came from her ligaments as she straightened herself out. "No real problems, however." she assured Tiffany, as if in a hurry to answer. The veiled woman felt something or someone pull at their clothes. A cold wave of panic blasted through her stick-figurish frame, coating her with a fine film of sweat. With a swirl, she whirled around, clearly alarmed to an extra-ordinary level for whatever reason. "Why would you..." she began to blurb, but quickly stopped herself as soon as she laid eyes on the person responsible. A plagued groad, of sorts, escaped her, as a hand with long, boney fingers pulled at her own collar, then pushed them back against her own throat, flattening the fabric neatly.

For a moment, the two just stood there, one large step apart from one another. Then, the figure softly pulled at her own clothes to see if the boy would let go. "St-stop that..." Oddly helpless looking, she turned to look at Tiffany again. "I..."

Aiko looked at the woman as she talked. She seemed a bit surprised by her words, and then grew a bit flustered hearing her response. A mixture of a bit of embarrassment with frustration filled her. "That! You know that's not what I'm! You... you..." She stumbled for a word as the lights had dimmed leaving the attention off of her. She pouted noticeably, glancing at the woman fiercely having her little game halted by her. I'll get her back for that. She thought, sticking her tongue out briefly out at her keeping her arms crossed.

The girl was jolted a little as Hotaru suddenly gave her a light jab with her elbow. She looked away defiantly, acting a bit childish in her own rebellion to it. "Hmmph... I could easily do better if I really wanted." She spoke out in a hushed tone keeping her head turned away. The sound on the stage blurted out as she wasn't at all really caring of about the concert. She had come much more for the entertainment then the music itself. Being mentally 'jabbed' by the 'stupid magic faking girl' had only helped to dim her attention to the chaos around her.

Aiko's hand brushed at her hair, seemingly trying to regain her posture a bit all while trying to avoid the girl. She was embarrassed not having any good way to retaliate back as she had done quite a masterful motion to minimize her own ability to lash back at her. She peeked at her from the corner of her eye before glancing over to Ella curiously, halting her 'flirting game' for the moment in part out of a sense of having a bruised ego.

This was peculiar. The trick wasn't the selection of the correct ring? Then it lie elsewhere. It lies with the ring it's self. Either it's poisoned, in which case she'd gain victory, but could be thwarted by a test strip, which he carried handy since a 'prank' involving rat-poison and subsequent terrible illness which his 'cousins' had found 'Hilarious'. He'd read about concerts being dangerous for this kind of thing. Or, it could be a ruse. It isn't polite to suspect a poisoned gift. And if it isn't poisoned, he humiliates both himself, and Jack. Or... maybe, he makes a statement.

He slides the ring onto his finger, and pulls a strip of white paper from a cylindrical capsule, licking it upon the end, and swiping it across the edge of the candy.
"I really don't like the moniker 'Sheltered'. It implies that I was protected from something. I can assure you, I wasn't." He waves the bit of paper, till it dries, before squinting at it in the low light. "However, it appears I owe you an apology, Magician. I've been conditioned not to take gifts and kindness at face value. A-And while I'm not entirely sure how you discerned my age, you are correct that I am undeserving of the attention of ladies as fine as yourselves." He wasn't oblivious to the tension, or what he perceived as tension at least.

He was going to state that he quite liked the way that the Mistress of Ceremonies had taken the stage, but felt perhaps the waters were a bit too chummed and stirred, and instead turned his attention to the nachos he'd been handed, the serious expression melting. These looked terribly unhealthy. And these green things. They were peppers, he was pretty sure. He slid one onto a a chip, covered with copious amounts of cheese, and a single jalapeno slice into his mouth with great caution not to allow any crumbs or drip-page.

What was this? This was not the subtle burn of wasabi of the sushi he so loved. No. This was violent. An assault of heat. His face reddened, his mouth burned. His eyes teared up up, widening in surprise, looking frantically to Jack. Why would anyone do this to themselves? Is this some sort of joke? He made audible noises of distress and displeasure.
OH GOD WHY?! There's a difference between spicy and sadistic and he was fairly certain it had been crossed.

Jason's smirk never faded from the moment he was so casually dismissed by Aiko. He simply took the time to blend in back into the crowd and enjoy the performance. As it ended he had to admit, it was pretty good. Deciding that he may as well get something to eat, he made his way over to the concession stand, looking at all the options and weighing them within his mind. You'd think that it'd be a simple process in which to decide what to get from a concessions stand of all things, but then you'd be wrong in this case. Everything had to be carefully considered, from price, to taste, to calories, and even appearance. Standing there for what seemed to be hours on end, while in reality it had only been a few minutes at most, he finally came to his conclusion.

Walking away from the stand with a pretzel covered with so much cheese it was hidden and cotton candy, Jason decided that this was, in fact, the correct decision on what to get. Granted, he'd probably have to cook something for himself when everything was all said and done, since this was simply a snack, not a meal, but it would suffice for now. He then began looking around for someplace to get a snack, once again taking note of all the other students that he could see and what they were doing. He smiled to himself, they seemed to be having fun, which was always good. Finding a spot, he made his way over and sat down, beginning to eat his pretzel first. As he did so, he wondered if anything else interesting was going to be happening tonight.

Jack Trinity

“Have us,” Jack repeated bemusedly as he handed Ella the cone of cotton candy he’d bought. “What are we? Trophy boys?”

Ella giggled, accepting the sugary treat. “Sure you are~"

Jack rolled his eyes, taking a bite of one of the death-shaped caramel apples before glancing down at his partner. Kalin was unfailingly polite as always—even after testing Hotaru’s candy for poison in front of them. His partner was certainly a cautious fellow. Not that Jack minded. In fact, he rather liked it. It showed a new side to Kalin that Jack hadn’t expected. Though, the fact that he carried some sort of chemical testing strip with him suggested that Kalin was habitually exposed to toxins from his environment. And the comment about not being sheltered…there were certain things Jack suspected about his partner, ever since bearing witness to Kalin’s damaged soul. However, Jack stood by what he had said in Kalin’s mindscape. He wouldn’t pry, he wouldn’t question—at least not too much—, and he wouldn’t peel off the bandages unless Kalin was ready to do so himself.

After all, games aren’t won with impatience.

There was a light of humor in his violet orbs. “I wouldn’t take them too seriously if I were you Kalin. Girls are strange, nonsensical creatures. Especially these girls. I’m not sure I see anything fine about them.”

Ignoring Ella’s annoyed pout, Jack watched as his cousin’s pink haired friend stumbled with her words as she tried to reply to Hotaru’s comment. It was funny. In a cute sort of way. Jack pushed up his glasses, studying the new arrival in a fascinated manner.

“Aiko,” Ella introduced happily to Jack and Kalin. “We’ll be doing missions together. She’s my new best friend!”

“I see…,”

Suddenly the lights dimmed and Jack’s eyes zeroed to the stage where the spotlights focused on a blonde woman that claimed the microphone. Lorelei Wagner…the mistress of ceremonies? Jack raised an eyebrow. Clearly he’d been living under a rock because had no idea who she was. However, he clapped after her introduction nonetheless. Hotaru seemed to know her though…so she was probably a decently well known musician. “It takes a lot of confidence to call yourself a superstar on stage,” Jack observed.

“Ooooh, it’s starting!”
Ella’s eyes were bright with excitement as the opening band was introduced, and members of Undirection entered the stage. She didn’t see to pay attention to anything else around her. Then the music began and screaming of excited fans soon followed. Jack hid a grimace when Ella squealed in delight and started singing along with the band. Jack wasn’t very musically inclined, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy good music…when it was good. Unfortunately, Ella’s singing wasn’t that good, at least in Jack’s ears. Jack wasn’t tone deaf. Even he could tell when someone was off tune.

Sighing, Jack looked away, catching sight of a sandy haired woman—the one that had been loitering near the concession stand—as she entered the crowd. Probably intending to get closer to the musicians. Jack wasn’t eager to have so many sweaty bodies pressed against him, especially while he still had two sticks of caramel apple he had yet to finish. A small accident would lead to a sticky mess. Not to mention the eventual shoving and spilling of beverages that was bound to happen at events like these. Given how nervous Kalin had been about the concert, Jack wasn’t sure if his partner would be comfortable in a large crowd either. From where they were standing, they could see the raised stage and hear the music just fine. Speaking of which…

“You alright there Kalin?”
Jack asked amusedly, taking in the flushed face and the slightly teary eyes of his partner. Perhaps he overdid it with the jalapenos. But a game was entertaining when it had an unpredictability aspect to it. And, when he rolled his die for the toppings on the nachos, that was what he got. Besides, he’d just learned something new and potentially interesting about his partner. Jack took another bite of sweet, tangy, and sticky toffee apple before turning to his tone deaf cousin. He tapped on her shoulder to get her attention. “Ella, did you happen to pack any beverages in that bag of yours? Otherwise, I’ll go see if I can buy a bottle of water for Kalin or something.”

Ella Trinity

Ella paused in her singing when she felt her cousin tap on her shoulder. She looked between Jack and Kalin, confused for a moment, before understanding lit her eyes. “Oh! Yes, of course! I came prepared for a concert!” Rummaging through her bag, Ella pulled out a bottle of greenish liquid. The label read ‘Deathorade’ had a picture of a skull in front. “Here you go~”

After giving Kalin the sports-drink, Ella felt Aiko’s gaze on her. The half zombie weapon frowned slightly when she looked over at the two-star meister. The pink haired one. Not the magician. She hadn’t really paid attention to the interaction between Mirage and Aiko, but she could tell the other girl was feeling a little upset. It wasn’t like Aiko to be quiet and meek. It didn’t suit her. Ella took Aiko’s hands in hers. The she suddenly remembered that Aiko was interested the two boys she was with.

“That’s Jack. He’s my weird, but strangely lovable cousin.” Ella said with a smile. She pointed at the boy wearing a bowler hat before switching to the frantic blonde boy who’d she’d just given a Deathorade to. “And his cute partner, Kalin. They’re both first years at DWMA.”

Ella paused, cocking her pale pink head thoughtfully to the side, as if debating something. Then she shrugged, her eyes bright with mischief as she leaned in to whisper in the meister's ears. "We can leave them and find some new targets if you want. There are probably tons of more entertaining people in the crowd~"
