The Pantheon
There are eleven gods & goddesses that make up Keyrra's pantheon. Each god & goddess also has heralds that follow their orders and manifest to the citizens of Keyrra on special occasions.
Despite the existence of the gods, most people do not worship them. The gods rarely bother themselves with Keyrra, instead making their home on the single moon that orbits the planet: Caya.

Depicted as an armored knight with a broken blade. Often set aloof from the others, and switches sides in stories frequently.
The Heralds
Heralds are powerful entities in their own right, subservient to the greater pantheon. They swear fealty to a god or goddess, and each are attuned to a certain element. Heralds carry out the gods' wills, even meeting with the people of Keyrra on special occasions.
However, there is good reason for Keyrra's people to be wary of the heralds. More often than not, utilizing their power is a double-edged sword. There is always a penalty, and the heralds (and the gods they serve) are often apathetic to how their actions will affect those who worship them.
Legendary weapons (and other items) exist that have been blessed by heralds. These items often give the user great power, but every one has a cost. Be careful when using these items, should you come across them. It may not be worth the price.

Other Entities
Other creatures with equal power to a god sometimes appear in myths. Little is known about them as they seem to have been removed purposefully from ancient texts.
There are also a few entities with equal power to a herald that don't appear to have sworn fealty to a god. This unaligned heralds often show up to challenge the strong.
CHRONODIA
The Goddess of Time. Only hinted at in ancient texts, but some believe it to be the ultimate being and the most powerful deity in the pantheon.
YIAZMAT
The God of Space. Only hinted at in ancient texts, it is believed to take on the form of a massive dragon, even larger than Bahamut.
GILGAMESH
An unaligned herald of unknown origin.
The prevailing theory is that Gilgamesh was a warrior of great standing in ancient times, and was given the power to conduct trials of other warriors.
Has an affinity for lightning.
SHEMHAZAI
Powered by a mechanical construct behind her, and armed with monstrous gun-like weapons, this girl-like figure has only appeared near large bodies of fresh water.
Has an affinity for water.
THE DEMON
The Demon is a monster that is impossible to track, stop, or avoid. It is a calamity that appears at random to destroy entire towns.
The Demon has plagued the earth since the great war and Retriance's founding. Survivors can only describe it as a human-like figure made of darkness and blood.
MAGIC
Magic is comprised of five elements: fire, water, earth, wind & lightning. These elements are imprinted on every character as an affinity. Individual races have varying affinities, two common and one rare; the Ionthra (humans) are the only race that does not have any set affinity and rarely can have two affinities.
FIRE - All uses of fire itself, but also includes heat and can manipulate molten materials in some cases.
WATER - Includes water & ice. Can also include blood or other liquids that have a lot of water components in them.
EARTH - Includes soil, rocks & metal to a lesser extent. Can also be used to manipulate plants.
WIND - Air and other gases. Weather manipulation is possible.
LIGHTNING - Lightning & electricity. This is the closest to pure energy as an element gets.
CRYSTALS
Crystals can accentuate magical powers and are often found in weapons or armor, as well as other equipment. Crystals also come in varying purity (or quality), so the more pure a crystal is, the stronger your magic can become! There are five levels of purity, and it is exponentially harder to find crystals of increasing purity. Crystals do NOT have an affinity. They only enhance your own.
HERALD BLESSED
Herald blessed items have been instilled with essence from a herald, and have an affinity imprinted on them that corresponds to the herald. Herald blessed items are also cursed items - the bearer will have to pay a penalty for using them. Some heralds are more malicious than others, but often the benefits outweigh the costs.
Races
The following is a list and a brief summary of each race, with general traits. More lore will be coming as the writers flesh them out!
IONTHRA [Humans]
The Ionthra are one of the most plentiful races on Keyrra, standing in general 155-180cm in height.
They are extremely versatile and live almost everywhere. They get along well with other races, and are respected for their open-mindedness.
Humans can have an affinity for any element, regardless of where they live, and are the only race that can have two affinities, although this is rare.
In these cases, one affinity is more dominant than the other.
SOITHRA [Elves]
The Soithra stand on average 15-35cm taller than humans, and are in general more thin & athletic.
Soithra tend to stick to themselves, and will at times struggle to fit in socially.

CLYTHRA [Dwarves]
The Clythra are a stocky, sturdy race, on average 10-20cm shorter than humans.
Their hands & feet are proportionately large for their bodies.

They are the largest race on Keyrra, and share affinities for earth & water, rarely fire.
Samthra tend to live in open areas, where they feel the most comfortable.
FAITHRA [Fairies]
A rare sight for most of the races of Keyrra, the Faithra are small and fragile-looking, standing between 116-125cm in height.
They are easily distinguished by their wings, which seem to be made of light and allow them to fly quite easily.
The Faithra almost always share affinities for wind & lightning, but rarely water.
The Faithra live in forests and mountains, away from civilization.
NEKTRA
The Nektra are a popular race for their agility and easygoing nature.

LAMRA
The Lamra are easily distinguished by their horns of varying shape, and their wide build.
They are often builders and architects, and have constructed many of the larger cities that still stand today.

SHIERA
The Shiera are a unique race that can easily transform from a human-like form into a snake, or in-between with their legs becoming a snake tail.
At all times, their eyes retain their reptilian quality. While in human form, they stand about the same size as humans.
They share affinities for water & fire, and rarely wind.
MERDRA
The Merdra are an aquatic race that usually has the form of a traditional merman or mermaid.
They can form legs to leave the ocean, although this tires them out and they require bodies of water to refresh themselves.
In human form, they're distinguished by their scales around their eyes and on their limbs.
The Merdra commonly have affinities for water & wind, and rarely lightning.
FALDRA
The Faldra are easily distinguished from the other races by their bird head and wings.
Their wings have hands at the end, but the Faldra also train to use tools while in the air by utilizing their taloned feet.
They are one of the few races that could be described as an animal with human characteristics, rather than the other way around.
They share affinities for water & lightning, and rarely fire.
PONTRA
The Pontra stand about 10-20cm shorter than humans on average, and are wiry and quick on their feet.
They share many similarities to a large ferret or rat, including an animal head and a full coat of fur.
They have large, powerful teeth and most have short claws.
The Pontra share affinities for earth & wind, and rarely lightning.
BAGHDRA
The Baghdra stand about 10-20cm taller than humans, and have a hunchbacked appearance.
They have reptilian scales on certain parts of their body & have a reptilian tail, and some believe they are descendants of the lost Dracothra race.
They tend to live in deserts or other warm & dry climates.
The Baghdra have affinities for fire & wind, and rarely earth.
YASHRA
The Yashra are a strange race that looks like they were carved from stone.
Their skin is incredibly tough, and they have a hard time showing expressions.
They are about the same size as humans, but are much heavier.
Their elemental affinities are, unsurprisingly, usually earth & fire, and rarely water.
The Dark Races & the Fallen
The dark races include the races who do not fit into the flourishing civilization of the other nations and countries. They are the outcasts, whether by their own decision or the resentful feelings of the other races. Part of your journey will include meeting these dark races, and finally forming peace, if possible, between them.
Gothra [Goblins]
The Gothra share many features of the Soithra. They are tall and slim, and have pointed ears. But their facial structure is inherently different and they tend to have shorter arms.
The Gothra live in small clans everywhere, and are often the culprits of bandit attacks.
They have an affinity for water & lightning, and rarely wind.
Uogthra [Orcs]
The Uogthra are a well-built and strong race. They stand about a head higher than a human, and have tusks.
They also live in clans but recognize a bloodline for their kings. However, they do not follow their king unless he can claim a throne.
They have an affinity for wind & lightning, and rarely water.
Jaithra [Trolls]
The Jaithra are dwellers of swamps and often look like a pile of straggly vines when standing still. They have a lot of hair that whisks moisture away.
The Jaithra live in small communities and are led by a shaman.
They have an affinity for fire & water, and rarely lightning.
Tahkra [Sahagin]
The Tahkra are universally hated by the Merdra, and share many of the same waters. The Tahkra share more qualities with amphibians than fish.
The Tahkra have four limbs and no tail, instead relying on their webbed hands. They do not do well outside of water for long as their skin requires a lot of moisture.
The Tahkra have affinities for water & earth, and rarely fire.
Ilthra
A race of underground people that share many qualities with insects. They have an armored exoskeleton but stand upright. They have two pairs of arms.
The Ilthra sometimes get in "arguments" with the Clythra over mining rights, but the Ilthra almost exclusively live deeper than Clythra are willing to dig.
The Ilthra have affinities for water & lightning, and rarely earth.
Dracothra
This race is considered a dark race for another reason - no one has seen a member of this race in over a thousand years.
When they were alive, they shared many qualities with dragons. They had wings and talons, and had natural armor.
The Dracothra had affinities for fire & lightning, and rarely wind.
Umagthra [The Fallen]
Although classified as their own race, the Umagthra (or the Fallen) are technically an amalgamation of any other race that falls victim to Shibo's Curse.
The Fallen have risen from the dead. They have never been known to attack the living, but they are feared and shunned regardless.
The Umagthra retain their affinity from their previous lives.
Keyrra
Keyrra is a vast world of varying climates, flora, fauna, and races. There are eight major landmasses.
Noani
A blistering hot continent that hosts an active volcano in the north and a jungle in the south. The east is home to a large desert. There is a series of lakes that winds its way across the northwest border and the seas are rich in life.
Ghani
A large continent that has two sets of mountain regions, one in the north and one in the south. The southern mountains are known as the Needles and are renowned for their black, sharp edges. The northern mountains are wide and tall, and at their base sits the oldest trees and forest of Keyrra.
Osani
A continent of endless plains and forests, only interrupted by a desert in the east and mountains in the west. Retriance, the capital of the world, resides in Osani.
Isani
A large continent that sits near the north pole. The ice-locked peaks are known as the Glass Mountains, and sit atop a vast underground cave system known as the Spiderweb Caves. Despite the cold, many peoples live here.
Forani
The southernmost continent, and the coldest, Forani is home to a immense mountain known as the Heart of Ice. The few people who live here huddle along the coastlines.
Merani
A sunken continent whose mountain peaks have created a vast system of islands. It is home to the merchant empire of the Merdra, as well as the dark waters the Tahkra call home. Storms are common, but it's summer almost all year round.
Telani
A hot and wet continent home to a large mountain range known as the Broken Peaks, and an immense labyrinthine jungle called the Maw. Telani's more temperate east coast and shielded west coast allow shipping to remain consistent.
Korani
The cursed land of Korani is riddled with broken monuments of nations lost to time. It is believed to be the home of the final battle of the Great War a thousand years ago. The Umagthra seem to gather here for an unknown reason. Stories also tell of a crystal tower that rises from the ravaged land, supposedly built by the gods themselves.
Telani
The majority of Telani is mountainous. It has four Major Regions.
Coastal States
The Coastal States are home to the country of Maralai, populated mainly by Ionthra. The two largest cities in the Coastal States are the self-named capital of Maralai, and Ravalai to the north. This region is more temperate than other regions. Storms often pass over this area, either hitting the islands to the north and east first, or retaining their strength to smash against the Broken Peaks to the west.
EASTERN RAVALAI STATES
A small region home to Ravalai. It is mostly grassy hills.
WESTERN RAVALAI STATES
Leading up from the coast, the west region of Ravalai is home to deciduous woods.
NORTHERN ISLANDS
A series of islands to the north of Ravalai. They are mostly flat with little vegetation, although a few mountains shelter a forest on the biggest isle.
ANCHOR ISLANDS
A large island to the east of Ravalai. The largest ships stop here to unload rather than enter Ravalai's limited port. A series of mountains protects the port here.
NORTH OPEN ISLE
Named an "open isle" due to the channel that separates the two main landmasses. Home to a spring and lake, and a forest.
NORTHERN HIGH STATES
The hills here are taller and dotted with deciduous woods. Sandstone is common here, and steep canyons are carved by rivers.
SOUTHERN HIGH STATES
Springs & small lakes dot this region, but travelers are wary due to the heavy presence of Gothra.
WESTERN LOWER STATES
The hills of the high states give way to grassy knolls and small pockets of trees.
EASTERN LOWER STATES
The gentle slope from the western lower region ends in steep drop-offs and sudden cliffs.
SOUTHERN LOWER STATES
A rise in elevation and dozens of streams differentiate the south from the west.
MARALAI STATES
A pleasant region of rolling hills and grass that is also home to the capital Maralai. Maralai has only a small port.
MARALAI ISLANDS
A series of small islands to the south of Maralai that are home to a small deciduous forest.
SHIELD ISLAND
A series of mountains that have created a protected reef to the west. Fishing is extremely popular here for that reason.
SOUTH OPEN ISLE
Cut in half north to south by a treacherous channel, it is not a popular location due to the rocky, high cliffs and high waves.
SHALLOW STATES
A swampy, delta region most avoid.
SHALLOW ISLANDS
Barely above high tide, and mostly sand.
COASTAL PEAKS
Rising head and shoulders above the high states, this region is still dwarfed by the mountains to its west. A myriad amount of rivers come from this area.
Daea Highlands
The Daea Highlands are home to the country of Daea, which is the only recognized Faithra kingdom on Keyrra. It also contains several cities from the Clythra kingdom of Laziir, and one of the cities of the Ionthra kingdom of Penelai. The storms along the Broken Peak rarely come here, but rivers run freely through the forests and mountains here.
FAZIIR FORESTS
The city of Faziir is nestled among the mixed forests of this region. The Clythra here mainly travel to the White Peaks to the south for work.
WHITE PEAKS
The mountains here are full of quartz, hence their name. The Clythra mine here for various minerals. The peaks are covered with pine forests.
WHITE HILL FORESTS
The peaks quickly mold down into more manageable hills, and the forests are a mixed bag.
DAEA LOWLANDS
Many rivers traverse this landscape, creating marshes among the valleys as pine forests rise on the mountains nearby. The capital of Daea is found here, as is the mythical Daea Temples.
SHAVAI FORESTS
A large pine forest and home to the city of Shavai, which maintains a port for merchants from Merani.
{MYTHICAL} DAEA TEMPLES
Although the location of this mythical area is not a secret (a stone's throw away from Daea itself), no one has seen the inside and come out alive. At some point, the Faithra were driven from the temples and were forced to build a new home, although if they remember the cause they do not speak of it. Something evil resides in the halls and rooms of these temples...
{MYTHICAL} THE GRAVEL
Little is known about the Gravel except what one can see from afar. It appears as if some immense force pulverized a mountain into dust, then dug holes through it to form a home. Whether or not this is true, it hasn't stopped adventure seekers from attempting to explore the treacherous area. None have returned.
Broken Peaks
The Broken Peaks are the largest area of Telani, and home to both the capitals of Penelai and Laziir. The cracked storm-heavy mountains can't even be traversed in some places except by underground passages dug by the Clythra.
NESTLED FOREST
A pine forest valley happily situated between two immense peaks.
BLACK SAND MOUNTAINS
Named for the magnetite formations found here, and home to the Clythra city of Maziir.
BLACK SAND FOREST
A large mixed forest that sits in varying valleys and peaks of this region.
BROKEN PEAK FORESTS
A pine forest that resides along the west coast. The cliff edge nearby can crumble without warning.
BROKEN PEAKS SUBTERRAIN
Home to both the capital Laziir and its sister city Juaziir, and crisscrossed with tunnels and mines dug by the Clythra. A guide here is almost essential.
CLAZIIR PASS
Home to the city of Claziir, it is home to a giant canyon/ravine that filters water into the Daea Highlands.
DUAZIIR CLIFFS
The city of Duaziir sits nearby towering cliffs that cascade into the mythical Gravel.
KORENAI WOODS
A mixed forest that sits atop a plateau. A major shipping highway between Duaziir, Juaziir and Korenai.
KORENAI PEAKS
The immense cave that is Korenai was dug by the Clythra to house their mineral shipments. It was relinquished to the Ionthra of Penelai, who run the port in tandem. Beyond the cave, a mixed forest clings to the rocky slopes. Traversal is oftentimes underground here.
BROKEN SHIELD MOUNTAINS
A strange formation of mountains that is home to the capital of Penelai.
{MYTHICAL} THE BROKEN PEAK
The largest mountain of Telani and home to an immense glacier, ruins of an ancient civilization can be spotted on its slopes. What mysteries could one unravel, should one be able to make the climb?
Telani Lowlands
A region that is barely home to any civilization. The only race that lives here are the Jaithra, who enjoy the hellish swamps.
SHAVAI RUNOFF
A massive swamp created by the dumping of millions of liters of water from the Broken Peaks.
{MYTHICAL} THE MAW
The largest region of Telani, the Maw was named for its tendency to swallow anything that enters it. It is an immense rainforest with rivers that lose themselves in every possible twist and turn. Combined with the heat and the confirmed existence of some of the most savage monsters known to man, it is considered suicide to enter.
The map on the left details the regions and major cities of Telani.
The map on the right shows basic geography of Telani.
