Fantasy - Dragonsea: The End of Magic - CS
CS is open and accepting!

Dragonsea. Home to billions of humans and others alike. For thousands of years Dragonsea flourished, differing species coming together to create a utopia upon the planet they stood upon. No matter what you were, you were always welcomed in any city. You could have been human, elven, dragon, orc, troll, faerie, siren, or even a pixie and you had a safe home and a community that loved you no matter what.

Well, that's what they used to say. Dragonsea is not perfect, and an idealistic utopia always meets an untimely fate. The peace was held together by the Ancient Dragon, the first to walk the earth and bring life to it. In the recent years however, a group of rebel rogues, warriors, and mages set out on a quest to find the Ancient Dragon under the guise of wanting to ask it questions no one else could answer. They were met with little resistance on their journey and when they reached the end, they killed the Ancient Dragon in its sleep. In the ensuing chaos, the rest of the dragons fled and are in hiding.

The magic has slowly been running out. Communities plunged into distrust and chaos, rebel factions rising, utopia disassembled and turned to dust. In the midst of it all, the Skylands crashed. Hundreds of thousands died in the fall, and everything that had been built in the past was shattered. At first there was hope that they could build back up, but the Skylands still sits in the crater it created, and every day Dragonsea is torn apart even further. Almost all cities have been closed off to outsiders. If no one steps up to find a new source of magic, Dragonsea may never return to what it once was.

You have joined the faction known as The Wolves that wants to free Dragonsea once more. Your reasons for joining may not be the same as everyone else's, but if it means that you're in the fight for freedom then your background or reason does not matter.

The World
Dragonsea is a medieval fantasy open world that is completely up to you to shape, with minimal guidelines. You are free to explore anywhere as long as you can get past the guards and security that have been set up in lore. You are also free to create your own communities and locations as you see fit. The current communities are listed below:

- The Skylands: A previously-floating island that now sits in a crater. Home to a majority human mages, elves and faeries, though many of them perished in the fall of the Skylands. They have done their best to remain neutral even as many other communities close off, but they are being pushed back and may be forced to shut themselves out soon. The Skylands used to be a haven for mages and intellects, and some of Dragonsea's most powerful mages and genius minds studied in the Skylands.

- Laencaster: Formerly the home of Dragon Protectors, and now the home of the ones who slayed the Ancient Dragon. Leader of the Dragonslayers Dredrius owns the only citadel on the entire rocky, volcanic island and it's best not to go near it. Laencaster is not closed off, but no one really wants to go into it.

- Argonyle: Home of your faction. Argonyle is a town surrounded by mountains and is for the most part, well protected. The King and Queen however, have gone into hiding and have not released any word on the situation. The townspeople have lost their faith in the monarchy, and rebel factions are likely to rise very soon.

- Viper's Outpost: A rising rebel faction lives around this only lake in the middle of the desert. They drive away anyone who is not part of their faction from the lake and cut the water off from anywhere else. To join them, you must be willing to sacrifice a lot. But out in the desert, water is scarce, and this is the only place that has any left. The Vipers grow larger every day with their tremendous control, and threaten to take hold of the entire desert and all nearby communities.

The Plot
The RP will begin with Dragonsea plunged into chaos already. Rebel factions have risen, distrust sown between communities, and almost everyone has cut themselves off. The Wolves's eventual goal is to find the dragons and have them restore the magic of Dragonsea. However, the road will be long and hard with every other faction wanting to come down on you. But you're not an ordinary person, and you don't have to be.

This RP was somewhat inspired by Dragonfable in certain aspects. Your character can be anything you want them to be (besides an actual dragon), and the choice is yours to shape the world and the events that happen. The world is open for interpretation and personalisation, and the only limit is yourself.

Ranger reporting for duty!

She's a big mashup of Greek and Roman myths, a certain Grimm fable, a touch of old Norse magic, and of course the archer and beast master specs for the ranger class. Though instead of being normal and just having an animal companion, the archer and animal halves are one character and work as a sort of tag team.

Hello, I was wondering if you are still accepting applications? I am also coming back from a bit of a hiatus from literature as well if that would be okay?

Thank you! I have submitted my character. Please let me know if anything is off. Slightly embarrassing trying to get my writing back in order...
