Death is a Bug
Death is a Bug, be it virus or alien.
You are one of the survivors of a plague that has ravaged the human civilization of Earth. Noone knew where the plague came from at first. Officials refused to speculate publicly, but they had realized the plague was not of a terrestrial origin. The Plague begins shortly after a meteor in 2019, in Spring of 2020 the Bugs begin to invade. By this time there are about 80 millions human left alive. (1% of the population)
At the start of the RP the group is just getting to know one another, unaware of the cause of the Plague, save for rumors. Likewise they are unaware of the coming invasion.
The number of Bugs is finite (unless more are hatched and grow up). But see the fleet they brought. They have enough firepower to scorch the Earth. They do not expect 80 million poorly armed and undersupplied humans to withstand the might of 2 million soldier Bugs.
