Batman, Gotham Exterior
Bruce noted Zatara's little jab at him, though he wouldn't show any reaction to it. Now was not the time to be petty. Thinking over the man's words, they did make a disturbing amount of sense. Bruce had put the chances of an extraterrestrial threat fairly low on the vast list of possibilities, though his estimations have been off in the past. That still wouldn't fully explain the means in which they are abducting people. He needed more information, and he was starting to see where he was going to get it.
"Metropolis." Batman muttered. Not even Robin knew that Mr Freeze was in Metropolis, let alone acting as an informant. His research into the strange signals at Star labs might yield important information.
Not only that, but it was pretty much common knowledge at this point that Metropolis had another alien in their midst.. Supergirl. Batman had been studying her ever since she made her presence known to the public; hell, it would be stupid not to keep a very watchful eye on a being with that much raw destructive potential. Much along the lines of losing track of a thermo nuclear warhead.
The Dark Knight had his doubts that Supergirl would be involved in such a thing. She was naive and green as grass, though from what he has seen it was unlikely she was involved in the abductions. Regardless, he didn't trust her, not yet. It is equally a possibility that she knows more than she appears to. That, and it was far past the time they should meet.
Turning away from Zatara without another word, Batman pressed a button on his gauntlet. The loud roaring of a powerful engine echoes through the skies as the Batmobile screamed around the corner, parking perfectly in front of the group.
"We're leaving, Robin." The Batman growled, having no interest in delving out too much information to Giovanni. Looking back for a moment and reaching into his belt, Batman took out a small transmitter and tossed it lightly at Zatara.
"If you discover anything further, you can get into contact with me with this."
S.T.A.R. Labs, Metropolis
The other researchers listened to Victor, some of them taking notes. They seemed to be coming around, though it was clear they still had plenty of questions. One of the researchers stepped forward, obviously quite nervous to openly speak with the former criminal.
"A...Are you suggesting teleportation technology on an interplanetary scale? Is that even possible?" He voices his concerns, as the other researchers begin to speak amongst themselves with their own different theories.
Tunnel, Gotham City
"Ooohh... Well aren't you a brave one? I have you now." The woman's voice was swimming in glee, as if she were a cat who has trapped a mouse into a corner.
Stretching out from the darkness, two long, lanky arms reach out to Vic. Each hand only possessed three fingers, with sharp cruel claws on the end of each one. The rest of the creature's body was still hidden in darkness.
This was an ambush.
