Batman, Gotham Exterior
Bruce noted Zatara's little jab at him, though he wouldn't show any reaction to it. Now was not the time to be petty. Thinking over the man's words, they did make a disturbing amount of sense. Bruce had put the chances of an extraterrestrial threat fairly low on the vast list of possibilities, though his estimations have been off in the past. That still wouldn't fully explain the means in which they are abducting people. He needed more information, and he was starting to see where he was going to get it.

"Metropolis." Batman muttered. Not even Robin knew that Mr Freeze was in Metropolis, let alone acting as an informant. His research into the strange signals at Star labs might yield important information.

Not only that, but it was pretty much common knowledge at this point that Metropolis had another alien in their midst.. Supergirl. Batman had been studying her ever since she made her presence known to the public; hell, it would be stupid not to keep a very watchful eye on a being with that much raw destructive potential. Much along the lines of losing track of a thermo nuclear warhead.

The Dark Knight had his doubts that Supergirl would be involved in such a thing. She was naive and green as grass, though from what he has seen it was unlikely she was involved in the abductions. Regardless, he didn't trust her, not yet. It is equally a possibility that she knows more than she appears to. That, and it was far past the time they should meet.

Turning away from Zatara without another word, Batman pressed a button on his gauntlet. The loud roaring of a powerful engine echoes through the skies as the Batmobile screamed around the corner, parking perfectly in front of the group.

"We're leaving, Robin." The Batman growled, having no interest in delving out too much information to Giovanni. Looking back for a moment and reaching into his belt, Batman took out a small transmitter and tossed it lightly at Zatara.

"If you discover anything further, you can get into contact with me with this."

The other researchers listened to Victor, some of them taking notes. They seemed to be coming around, though it was clear they still had plenty of questions. One of the researchers stepped forward, obviously quite nervous to openly speak with the former criminal.

"A...Are you suggesting teleportation technology on an interplanetary scale? Is that even possible?" He voices his concerns, as the other researchers begin to speak amongst themselves with their own different theories.

Tunnel, Gotham City
The voices of the woman continue to echo throughout the tunnel, urging the Question forward into the dark. As he continues to make his way forward, he would notice a foul smell coming from further in. The air grows thick with malice, as the voice seems to be getting closer and closer. Once Vic wanders a bit closer inwards, the voice of the woman takes a drastic turn. She started to laugh.

"Ooohh... Well aren't you a brave one? I have you now." The woman's voice was swimming in glee, as if she were a cat who has trapped a mouse into a corner.

Stretching out from the darkness, two long, lanky arms reach out to Vic. Each hand only possessed three fingers, with sharp cruel claws on the end of each one. The rest of the creature's body was still hidden in darkness.

This was an ambush.

Mr. Zero, Metropolis, Star Labs

"We're already being hacked from outer space, by something that can make the laws of space-time a literal laughing-stock. I think we are beyond the realm of possibilities and into science fact. Just because, we can't comprehend it - doesn't mean it couldn't be possible," spoke Victor.

As he soon enough got busy trying to track down these 'signs'. "I think we might have going at this the wrong way. Trying to track these transmissions into the void of space is useless. Since we both lack the technology and the capability of scanning anything outside of our solar system with any precise accuracy."

"Yet...no energy transfer is completely one-hundred percent," he muttered. Or namely, there would always be some residue left of any act. The plugging of an electrical appliance, always caused some sparks. The burning of coal into energy, wasn't completely efficient. The freezing of melted ice-cream took more energy, then would be required to heat it up.

Victor ended up tapping his helmet again - as he thought on how to catch this...culprit. "Hmm. Could we perhaps get the latest weather data. Before all of this started to happen and also those, of when the data bursts were detected? Then have those two graphs compared to each other?" he said.

"If I am right - then we should be able to detect either the exotic radiation or energy difference within a reasonable radius..." explained Victor. Plus it did make a certain degree of sense - Earth had dozens of satellites, some of which were responsible for monitoring the weather. Many of them were calibrated to detect the minute difference in any part of the globe for shifting patterns. Namely it was the only way to predict any approaching or forming tornado's or typhoons.

Any strange radiation or energy shifts should be detected and at the very least recorded on-boards such satellites. Plus, even if they couldn't detect those shifts - they could always compare the data in the satellite to any formed weather patterns. If something didn't add up - like a spurt of hot-air and water, not creating a tornado or pressure imbalance - then something was definitely up there.

Super girl flew up with Sinestro, she would really have to suggest he pick a code name while on earth, maybe just green lantern, so that they could talk in private. While it might not seem private she could tell when they weren't being watched at least. Now they could talk without fear of these unseen attackers over hearing any plans they might come up with.

" This should be high enough,we can talk freely" Claire said " Now then can we assume that the issues currently happening below are connected to your missing comrade?" She asked.

As odd as it might seem for one who could be called a dimi god Claire had little issue asking the opinions of others, especially if they were more experienced and if this all had to do with aliens she would let the alien lawman lead the way on this investigation. It was likely because she had always been taught to respect cops and those more experienced than her, in fact she tried or was trying to keep up good relations with those in metropolis. She wanted people to see her as someone that could help not someone they had to rely on.

Sinestro gazed stoically toward the skyscrapers below as he listened to the Kryptonian speak. When she asked her question, he looked over at her.

"I never assume anything," he said. "But your speculation is logical. Abin Sur, my fellow Green Lantern, came to this planet for a reason. It is likely that whatever issue caused him to come here is also the cause of his disappearance."

When Sinestro said the name 'Abin Sur,' there was a change in his expression for a fraction of a second. Most people would miss it, but to those with greater powers of perception it would be clear that the loss of Abin Sur pained him.

"So, please tell me everything you know about these current disturbances on Earth," Sinestro said, gesturing down at the planet. "It may help me narrow my search."

Claire noticed the pained expression and assumed that Sinestro and the missing lantern were likely very close. She would like to reassure him that his friend was likely fine, but she couldn't know anything about it. Then came the issue of their problems and what did and didn't matter she could leave out a few issues the main one was the signals. they still knew very little about them but perhaps the alien had a way to track them.

" I will spare you the details but there have been signals detected that are not human coming from various places below going out somewhere into space. " She explained " There also have been many more disappearances than normal i have been trying to find what is causing this but so far they have always vanished" She continued as they were fast this was all vague and she had one more thing but it was personal she would have to ask it latter.

The Question

As Vic got further down he got chills down his back. That hadn't happened much before unless he saw a really gruesome sight. He can feel a bad feeling in his stomach.

That was when he started to hear the laugh. Vic tilted his head and knew.

I'm getting ambushed. He thought as he heard the woman taunt.

He started to speak when three fingers with sharp nails appeared from the darkness. He groanef and started to back up quickly. "You aren't getting me anytime soon lady." Vic said as he backed up. This creatuee must be apart of the kidnappings.

While backing up Vic would try to duck the hands and grab the hand and try to pull the creature forward.

Ted was in his high rise apartment in Metropolis looking at some morning papers. He was also drinking some coffee. He groaned as he heard another report about this Supergirl.

As Ted went to turn the TV on he aaw a news report with a appearence of the He to and some alien life. Ted slowly got up and grabbed his phone.

He called his team of researchers. "Yes, I want you to send out the drones." Ted said.

"But sir-" The man on the phone began saying. "I don't want no trouble to start. Especially with civilians. So I am kindly requesting you to send them out." Ted said.

He heard a sigh and a reluctant yes. The drones started to appear on the streets. They were modeled after small beetles. T hey would start slowly going up in the sky.

Zatara crossed his legs in midair, taking a floating seated position, closing his eyes as the Batmobile drove out of sight. He focused inward, to his very center. Holy men would call it aligning his Chakra. Doctor Fate would call it centering his Mana. Zatana preferred the term Madam Xanadu used: "getting your head out of your own ass". He chuckled at the thought of the beautiful young woman and her little corner shop in New Orleans, so many years ago. She was Earth's best magic user and he was a con-man with nothing but a can of hair gel and a silver tongue. He'd gone into her shop that fateful night in 1957 to disprove her, to ridicule this old town legend her for her phony tricks, but he arrived at this den of magic to find a kind young woman with a smile the size of Jupiter and a wit as quick as Mercury.

This was no time for a trip down memory road, he realized, sinking back down to the ground. With a start, he fluttered back up in the air, and began to glow. He touched ancient forces forgotten by man millennia ago, letting pure magic drip out from his soul into our world. He muttered one word. "Where?" His eyes opened to reveal two blinding white lights inside them. Some unknown entity, somewhere, spoke to him, and he understood where Brendan was. In a tunnel, dark, not long from here. Zatara dropped his legs to be in a standing position, and started on his march to the "Tunnel", a place that had long been rumored in Gotham to be some sort of hellmouth. If the rumors were correct, Zatara would have to get a little assistance in closing it.

He made it there within a few minutes, his clothing enchantment dropping and leaving him in his track jacket and sweatpants, with a slight hunch requiring his walking stick. He approached the entrance of the tunnel to the sound of some sort of trouble. He raised a palm to the opening of the dark tunnel and filled it with light. There within was a faceless man in a purple suit and something... unexpected.

Robin
Gotham City Exterior

As the conversation progressed, Robin listened for what Batman would say about the situation, since his mentor was the one who would mainly make the decisions about these sort of things. He had already silently expressed his own private skepticism about the matter, which he was pretty sure Batman must share. It would be quite unlike the other one to actually be inclined to openly work with someone, after all. Robin couldn't help but turn his head and give his partner a puzzled look when Batman murmured something under his breath about Metropolis, from what could be heard. The boy was somewhat confused about this statement, but decided not to question it. Perhaps Batman had concluded that the disappearances were connected to Metropolis somehow, which would make a decent amount of sense. That city had had a spike of alien activity as of late, though he didn't see how that particular alien activity could connect with the disappearances. Nevertheless, it was possible that Batman felt that it was a lead worth checking out, as it wasn't long before the screech of tires and the roar of a vehicle filled the small alleyway.

The young sidekick turned to look back at what was unsurprisingly the Batmobile, squinting against the bright headlights that pierced the gloomy shadows of the dark alley. His gaze returned to Batman as the other one growled that it was time to go. Robin promptly nodded in acknowledgment, a bit confused about what his mentor's thought process was at the moment, but nonetheless he went along with it. He turned to watch as Batman handed Zatara a device to communicate with, which seemed like a good course of action to take, as long as the magician decided to actually use it when something of interest happened. Robin looked towards Zatara, a slight grin appearing on his face as he waved goodbye. His manners were just a little more prevalent than his mentor's. "See you later!" The boy called goodbye as he turned and dashed to the Batmobile, flinging open the car door and energetically leaping into the passenger side of the car.

Once having slammed the door shut, he settled down a bit, his thoughts turning to where they were headed next as he leaned back against his seat. He waited until Batman had gotten into the Batmobile and they had roared away before speaking up with any questions, though he did certainly have them after that encounter. After they had been driving for a few minutes, Robin turned to look ahead out the windshield as he spoke, having a casual but also slightly curious expression. "Where to now?" He waited in anticipation for a response, guessing that the answer would somehow be related to Metropolis, based on Batman's murmurings. He hoped that they would indeed soon be visiting the city, as he had been curious about what had been happening there for a while now. The idea of actual superpowered beings that were heroes was an amazing thought, and something which he really wanted to see for himself, both out of incredulity and curiosity of what such beings would be like.

Once Robin had had a little more time to dwell on his own thoughts, he gave a bit of a start as another question came to mind, something which had been in the back of his mind ever since the conversation with the magician had begun. "So, who was that Zatara guy anyway? You know anything about him?" Robin turned to look towards Bruce as he asked this, his expression conveying how curious and slightly puzzled he was about it. He mainly asked this due to noticing that Batman had seemed to know Zatara's name even without the man having to introduce himself. Robin waited patiently for an answer without being too demanding about one, giving the other one time to sort through his own thoughts if that was needed. He had asked these questions due to thinking it necessary to be clued in on this certain information, but he made sure not to ask them all at once either. The boy relaxed back into his seat after a moment, gazing out his window to absentmindedly watch the buildings of Gotham City flash by in a blur, his thoughts beginning to race about their current destination and what they were exactly going to do when they got there, even if he kept all those thoughts to himself.

Batman, Batmobile, Gotham

Flashing lights illuminated the interior of the car as Bruce quickly took his seat, the door automatically closing the moment the car launches itself forward. Gripping onto the wheel in front of him, the Dark Knight stares stoically forward without so much as a word. If there was one thing that Bruce desperately needed to improve on, it was his communication skills. The silence would not have been broken until Dick finally spoke up. Bruce took a moment to answer his first question, the solid white eyes of his cowl glued to the road in front of them.

"Metropolis. I have a... Contact in S.T.A.R. labs who might have more information on the manner of these disappearances. Simply locating these abductors isn't good enough. We need to find out how they're doing it." Bruce noticeably hesitated slightly before saying 'contact'. Robin would not have known about Freeze acting as Batman's informant.

"That, and there is a certain someone I want to question about this... Supergirl. I have my doubts that she would be involved in these abductions, though if we are dealing with an extraterrestrial threat, she might know more than she is leading on."

Bruce would hesitate a bit when asked about his relationship to Zatara. Though Robin was Bruce's partner, there was a surprising amount that he didn't know about Bruce's life. It wasn't Dick's fault of course, Bruce could just tend to be a very difficult person to get to know. He was very protective over his life's details, even with people he claims to trust. After remaining silent for a good thirty seconds, he finally speaks up.

"Giovanni Zatara once trained Bruce Wayne in escape artistry. I wasn't expecting him to actually be in Gotham, it has been over a decade since we last spoke. " Bruce kept it short and sweet. Getting any personal information out of the guy sometimes felt like pulling teeth. Batman quickly steered the subject back to the investigation at hand.

"That device I gave to Giovanni... It was more than a simple communicator. It is also a tracking and recording device. If he should discover something while we're away, we'll find out about it."

As the Batmobile effortlessly navigated its way through the Gotham city traffic, the duo would quickly approach the bridge leading to Metropolis. Only a few miles now.

S.T.A.R. Labs, Metropolis
One of the head researchers nodded at Victor's request.

"You heard the man, get me a visual on weather patterns within the last 72 hours!" He barks, as several other researchers scramble around their respective stations. It didn't take long before a large holographic globe appears in the center of the room. It appeared to be a time lapse, the clouds swirling around the Earth in various patterns. Upon further inspection, one with a very attentive eye may notice a sudden radiation spike of over 300% over the cities of Gotham and Metropolis, precisely when the strange signals began to appear.

Pinning down exactly in each cities these spikes were coming from however, would be a much more difficult task. Whoever or whatever these things were, they were surprisingly good at covering their tracks.

Tunnel, Gotham City
Vic would successfully grab onto one of the arms of the creature, however pulling it forward proved to be a much more difficult task. Whatever it was, it was strong; easily stronger than the average man. Before the monstrosity could retaliate, a bright light illuminated the tunnel, revealing the creature in all of it's grotesque form.

It was tall, easily over seven foot, however it was skinny to a sickly degree. Instead of skin, the creature was covered in a tough chitin like material, more akin to an insect than a man. It's two long arms attempted to cover it's face with a loud and inhuman shriek, as the two smaller arms lower on it's body lash out angrily.

The arm in which the Question had grabbed onto attempted to swat the faceless man against the tunnel wall, as one of it's free arms aimed at the newcomer. Pulling back it's cruel, sickly claws, a secondary mouth opened up on the palm of the creature's hand. A long, slimy tongue shot out of the creature's palm at alarmingly quick speeds, lashing out at the magician like a bull whip.

The Question

As Vic latched on to one of the arms, he wasn't fully able to bring it forward. He groaned in frustration. That was when he sae a bright light coming down the hall. He looked and saw a man in a suit. He looked pretty old, but also familiar.

That was when he looked at the creature, which seemed insect like. It screetched and tried to cover its face.

That was when Vic was hit by the arm and hit the brick wall behind him.

Vic fell to the ground, and groaned. The thing was tough and it hurt pretty bad. He slowly got up and noticed the creature using some second tongue to lash at the man with them.

Question looked around for a weapon next to him. Then he saw a lead pipe a few distances away. Vic ran ocer there and grabbed the lead pipe. He then would try to hit the creature at the head. "You're not fooling anyone else. Whatever you are doing is going to end now!" Vic shouted at the creature while attacking.

"Llaberif!" Zatana lobbed a ball of fire into the appendage launched out at him. He felt his energy quickly drain, quickly taking away a majority of what he had in him. It collided with the creature, but Zatana fell to his knees before he could see if it had done any damage. "You there," he croaked, his throat dry and tired, "run! I'll hold it off."

He didn't know what sort of man lay within the grips of this demon, but Madam Xanadu would never allow an unsuspecting civilian to come into harm like this. Nor would he.

Sinestro whispered notes to himself in contemplation as he looked back down toward the city again. "Signals to space. Disappearances."

He looked up at the clouds around him and recited his thoughts as they came to him. "Is there a pattern to these signals? Do they appear at certain times of day? Do they last for a consistent amount of time?"

He looked down at his ring for a moment. "And presumably someone is already tracking them. Or trying to. Perhaps someone has already recorded some."

He looked over at Claire. "If I could learn more about these signals, my Green Lantern power ring may be able to track them. Possibly even interpret them. If there's someone in the city with more data on this, would you be able to take me to them?"

that was something claire really didn't know , well she didn't know part of it she had no real way of knowing most of what he asked and she was or had planned to be rather passive about it. that might not be the best idea but while she knew she was well liked she didn't exactly want to assume she could go to someone and ask for their help for free or that they were not already working on. There was only one place that would likely have the tech to track all this even though they were the ones suffering the worst of the computer issues.

" there is a group that likely is working on it, though they have been suffering the worst. " she said not sure if they could but it was the best chance " Though before we go you may want to... " She said thinking how to put this delicately " Well others can be rather skidish and part of your name translates to word with negative connection .." She continued " To keep some people from being stupid you may want to just call yourself green lantern" She said as someone with the word sinister in their name was just asking for trouble in the already paranoid environment.

The Phantom Stranger.

Gotham City, night time. Most of the average citizenry had either gone to sleep or settled in for the evening. Made sense, Gotham wasn't a pretty place at night, never was. For as long as he could remember, The Stranger knew that men who worked in the shadows were often of ill-intent. Then again, he worked from the shadows too. He had to. His life, or rather his second life, was no longer his own. He was a pawn, a soldier, someone to merely follow orders. He could question, he could doubt, but he could not disobey. He couldn't even fathom how he could disobey. He clutched his fedora on top of his head as a breeze swept through the streets. Not for fear of it actually flying off, no, he did it because that's what any normal human would do. At least that's what he gathered. Then again a normal human wouldn't be dressed as he was: long dark blue overcoat, dark blue suit underneath, white collared undershirt, dark blue tie. It probably all looked black in the street lights save for his under shirt, but that was fine, it helped him blend into the background better. He looked like he was straight out of a detective novel, maybe to others who bothered to remember him he might look ridiculous. But, just as a certain Scottish Terrier had stated, it suited him. It suddenly hit him that was a pun. He frowned.

He came to what looked to be an overpass tunnel. He wasn't entirely sure how he got here, he wasn't entirely sure why. Never was. Never really mattered if he did know. All that mattered was he be in the right place at the right time. Everything else, well, he was supposed to know what to do once he arrived, at least ideally he should. In reality, he never knew, turns out the less people that know "The Plan" the better. He sighed, it made sense, he couldn't bother to argue with that logic. Still, it was disheartening at times. He looked around, no cars, of course. He looked further in the tunnel. He could feel it for sure. A new Question for a new era. He was surprised whenever a man skidded in front of him. He looked down. He could sense Xanadu on him, a magic user no doubt. He looked to the abomination, wondering if he should intervene. Maybe so, but it seemed as though these two had it covered. He would wait, if it attacked him, he would respond, otherwise he would stand by and see how resourceful the new Question was.

Sinestro was a bit taken aback that humans might have a 'negative' association with his name because of one of their languages. But his surprise subsided, and he laughed.

He looked down at his ring again, knowing it had extensive records on alien languages.

"Ring, what is the Earth word that most resembles my name?"

The ring responded "The Earth word that most resembles the name 'Sinestro' is the Latin 'sinistra,' meaning 'left'."

"How appropriate that I happen to be left handed," said Sinestro, laughing again. It was true that his left hand was his dominant hand, as well as the one he wore his ring on.

The ring continued. "It is the root of the English 'sinister,' meaning 'seemingly evil; indicating lurking danger or harm'."

"Hm," said Sinestro. "That's interesting, but I will not be using an alias. My name is my name. If anyone has a problem with it, that's just their problem."

"So," Sinestro said, changing the subject and looking toward Claire once more. "Please lead me to the people you mentioned. Time is imperative."

Ted rubbed his chin and tried to get his drones closer to them. He didn't want to be seen though.

Tunnel, Gotham City
The fire spreads along the foul creature's appendage, causing it to recoil and screech in agony. It's razor sharp claws flail wildly around it, trying to swat at anything close by. It's claws easily cut through the bricks of the tunnel walls, though these strikes were frantic and undisciplined. Before the insectoid creature could regain it's bearings, the thunderous strike of the lead pipe made contact with the side of it's head, causing it to stumble backwards. This thing was clearly more durable than your average human to endure such a beating, though it was clear that it was in serious pain. A neon green liquid began to leak from the side of it's head where the pipe had struck, it was likely blood.

The four armed monstrosity was starting to think that it may be outmatched, though it still had one trick up it's sleeve. The creature begins to emit a purple light, before disappearing completely. In an instant, the creature re appears behind Zatara, ready to strike the magician down.

It had not yet noticed the third party spying on the group.

As he asked this, he noticed that they had reached a building with the words 'S.T.A.R. Labs' outside.

The Phantom Stranger frowned. A demon that could teleport against an unarmed Question and a magician who's unsuspecting. That was hardly fair. He watched as the demon brought it's sharp claws and gripped his fedora, holding out a hand, the mage suddenly appearing a few feet back next to The Question. Good, he had a better chance now, but the fight was still going to be hardly fair with that thing teleporting everywhere. Granted, The Stranger could move them in response, but he didn't feel like that would be right. No, he had given them their chance, they knew it could teleport and it's element of surprise was gone.

He held out a hand, this time wouldn't be a direct interference, he didn't aim to settle this, he figured his job was simply ensure that it went the right way. The pipe in The Question's hands began to change shape. It grew, became shinier, and it's form became wider until he was no longer holding a pipe, but a longsword of Damascus steel. He nodded, that was fair. The creature's claws could have easily rended that dingy pipe. He was curious to see how the two would deal with a teleporting demon now that they knew what that technique did and they were much more armed. He gripped his hat as he watched, not making any attempt to conceal himself from the two other men, but surprised the insectoid didn't notice him. Must be too focused. Made sense. Probably limited brainpower. Nothing too scary then. If it hadn't even mastered the art of higher intelligence there was no way it was any sort of major demonic threat. That was good. Small reassurance to the two it's trying to kill, but at least it's something.

" Nothing that should be an issue, just a view prying eyes, earth stuff not other" Claire explained as they arrived at the labs.

Claire had never been a big fan of letting others work on her as she didn't know what people would do with any discoveries, she beilived the best in others, but still temptation was strong if they could figure her out. Still she had been thinking about trying to befriend some of the people here just so she could get the upper hand against any villain that might find a weakness in her or have some gimmick she didn't fully understand. She might be a bit arrogant and a showboat but well she knew that there were some weaknesses.

" This is STAR labs they are some of the smartest people on the planet. " She explained knowing that the security cammeras should have seen then, still she knocked.

"Well. At least we know that whatever bug you guys have - that it is local. Or at the very least, our hacker is operating from Earth or at least bouncing his signal from here to STAR Labs," replied Victor, tapping his helmet - as he soon started speaking out the data they had. Appearing to talk with the others - but he was also covertly sharing information with Batman. He knew the man was listening in somehow - so he might as well have the information immediately known.

"But what bothers me - is why a similar signal is coming from Gotham as well?" muttered Victor, they managed to pin-point the radiation spikes to both cities. But now, they had to catch their alien hacker - with a city as wide as Metropolis, trying to do precision scanning was like trying to find a needle with tweezers. "Hmm. Think...think...think..."

"Nonono. Wait. I got it!" he stated, soon realizing something as well. Soon pointing at the Head Researcher. "You. Star Labs should have access to numerous technologies not available on the market, yes?"

"Could we use the satellite dish here, to construct a full-spectrum jammer - then boost its power, with the power we have here?" asked Victor. "I know, you might think I am crazy. But if we set its interval to 0.1 second. Then it wouldn't hinder much of Metropolis' network. People would think it was only minor glitch, nothing enough to damage the economy or network. BUT. If we do so, we will be able to temporarily able to get rid of most of the electrical interference. While we won't be able to see it or calculate the location - the satellite network in orbit, will be able to detect it."

Victor' plan was crazy and rather strange - but it had some sense of logic behind it. Trying to have their meager satellites detect the differences in a city full of electricity was pointless, they could never pin-point it down with enough precision. But if Victor' plan was done all electromagnetic waves in the air would go silent for one second - both those that were interfering with locating the hacker and also in theory those that were messing the computer network of STAR Labs.

"We can either - get a location on our target. Or if it doesn't work - then we should be able to cut-off our alien from keeping the computers under lock-down," he finished, explaining. If they managed to get the jammer to full-spectrum interference - then that should in theory, also be able to get the STAR Labs computer system temporarily under their control.

The Question

As Vic hit the monster at the head he backed up. He also saw the man in the suit burn parts of the insect, but then Vic spotted another man. How were they able to know that I was in magic? I need to question them after this. Vic thought.

The monster had seemed heavily injured. Vic ignored the man in the suits advice to run. That was when Vic was blinded by a bright purple light. When he looked, Vic noticed the insectoid was gone.

But then Vic noticed the creature behind thr man. "Watch out!" Vic shouted. He couldn't get far and throwing the pipe may hit the man. He just had to wait for the man to defend himself.

Blue Beetle

Ted noticed Supergirl and the alien man started tingly away. Tednsighed and guessed that one of them saw the drones or heard them.

He turned off the cameras to the drones, and made them manually go back to the research lab. Ted decided to get his coat on, and walk out of the apartment.

He went to his car, and then drove off to the area where the aliens were discussing. If the drones couldn't work, him being his normal self and hiding would work.

Robin
Batmobile; Gotham City to Metropolis

Robin listened carefully to Batman's explanation about what their destination and plan was going to be. By now he had learned that when Bruce gave information or debriefing about their mission, it was best to listen attentively and never miss anything. The fact that Batman had a contact in S.T.A.R. Labs came as no surprise to the boy. He knew that Bruce had a habit to use any resources he had available, and that included getting resources by having contacts in different places that could supply information one way or another. Robin couldn't help but notice the way Bruce had a slight pause that implied hesitation before actually mentioning the informant, though. The young sidekick was observant enough to notice this, though he didn't quite know what to make of it. He let it slide without probing any further for now, as there didn't seem much point. He nodded silently in agreement with Bruce's reasoning for needing to know exactly how the abductions were happening.

The boy noticeably perked up a little bit in curiosity when Batman mentioned going to someone else in order to investigate another matter, which was Supergirl and the possibility of her being able to give a clue to what was happening due to her alien heritage. This obviously interested Robin, as the idea of learning more about the mysterious and very powerful superhero was quite interesting, even if he wasn't quite sure how good of a lead they could actually get just because she was an alien too. Nevertheless, it was reasonable to follow up on whatever lead they had, even if it wasn't the most solid of leads. Once Batman had finished his explanation, his listener once again nodded in acknowledgment, though this time he let out a small sigh and rested his chin on one hand afterwards. He was eager to continue the investigation so that they could put a stop to the disappearances, but it did sound like they would have to take quite a few steps to get to that point. "Sounds like we're going to be doing a lot of questioning then." He stated this a bit reluctantly, but also matter-of-factly, since this part of the process was inevitable and he was still willing to go through it.

He waited patiently through his mentor's temporary silence about the question he had asked about Zatara, though he raised his head back up once Bruce spoke
up again, immediately listening with rapt attention. Robin's eyes widened underneath his mask as Batman explained that he and Zatara had met long ago, and Bruce had even been trained under the magician for a short time. The boy eagerly listened to the explanation, even if it was very short and succinct. He always felt like he was unlocking a bit of a treasure trove whenever the other one actually shared such things about his past with him, mostly because it was so rare and yet so interesting and satisfying whenever something was revealed. The main connecting point that the two had had from the beginning was that they had both lost their parents at a young age, but other than that Dick had never really been told much more about Bruce Wayne's past. It was an interesting revelation that he had been trained a little by Zatara, and that there had been an actual personal connection to the stranger in the alley. "Wow... so that's why you recognized him." Robin murmured this incredulously, momentarily putting all the pieces together in his head. After he had done so, he turned to look back in Batman's direction, asking a question that he thought was important enough to ask since Bruce apparently knew Zatara. "So do you think he can be trusted?"

Robin's doubts about the magician had been mostly relieved by now, but he wanted to know what his partner thought about the man before making any solid conclusions. Upon hearing about the device given to Zatara having been equipped with such devices, he thought that it was a smart idea to do so, though this suggested that Batman indeed didn't trust Zatara, at least not enough to believe he would be entirely truthful or trustworthy. This wasn't all that surprising in any case however, and it was a good thing to have extra insurance like that. "Alright, good." Robin said this with an affirmative nod, satisfied that no matter what, they might get some helpful leads from whatever the magician found. The young sidekick peered out his window as they began to approach the bridge that led to Metropolis. He would start watching out the window much more attentively once they had actually reached Metropolis, since the location's unfamiliarity and all the things he had heard about it peaked his curiosity. When he was young, he could faintly remember Haly's Circus making a stop at Metropolis, even though it wasn't one that he remembered that well. Ever since then, he had never really had a chance to visit the great city again, at least not for very long.

Anytime he saw it though, he was always very impressed and amazed by what he saw. Once they reached Metropolis, Robin was captivated for a little while with staring at the city that was flashing by, his eyes glued to his car window. Eventually he sat back against his seat instead of sitting straight up, but he still watched the sights outside. In a few minutes, the boy spoke up in a casual manner, though he didn't turn his head to look towards the other one this time. "So, who's your first informant that we're visiting?" Robin figured it wouldn't be that bad of an idea to get a little intel on the person they were going to visit before they arrived, even though it wouldn't be too long now until they did. He couldn't help but admit that he was a little bit curious about what two people Batman actually managed to recruit as inside contacts. He wasn't that concerned about knowing, but it did seem helpful to know at least a little bit of information about it, and sparse conversing about information that was important to know was leagues better than sitting in suffocating silence the whole trip over anyway.

S.T.A.R. Labs, Exterior, Metropolis
The moment Supergirl knocked on the secure door, a bright red flash illuminated her. A quick scanning process looked over the heroine from head to toe, before an outdoor speaker began to speak.

"Identity confirmed; Supergirl. State your business."

S.T.A.R. Labs, Metropolis
The other researchers looked at Victor with a sense of hesitation. This seemed like a radical strategy, and it might not be a good idea to allow a former super villain to do such a thing; one wrong miss step, and Metropolis is disconnected from the grid. The guards seem antsy, just waiting for the order to fire.

The head researcher jumps a bit when Victor addresses him directly.

"Y-Yes, in theory it can be done... But are you certain this is the best course of action? This is one hell of a gamble. If you don't know what you're doing, the signal could infect all of Metropolis. Maybe even surrounding populations." He responds hesitantly.

The other researchers begin to follow Zero's instructions, albeit hesitantly.

Batman, Batmobile, Metropolis
It wasn't long before the Batmobile entered the shining city of Metropolis. The towering seemless skyscrapers stood in stark contrast to what Bruce was used to in Gotham. In a way, Bruce was jealous of this city; he could only hope that Gotham would take a similar turn one day. Now was not the time for idle fantasy however, they had a job to do. Bruce raised his eyebrow as Dick prodded for more information about his Star labs contact. Thinking carefully about the repercussions, Bruce debated whether or not to reveal the identity of the contact to Robin. Bruce had learned the hard way that revealing too much information to his partner could be dangerous...

No. Dick was not Jason. Jason was reckless, impulsive. He had something to prove. Dick has been more than respectful with Bruce's wishes. Still, it unnerved him. Bruce had sworn to himself that he would never have a second partner after Jason's death... And yet here he was, putting another child in the line of fire. Perhaps it was because Bruce didn't trust Jason fully that he felt like he had something to prove.

Thinking about Jason only served to put Bruce in an even fouler mood than he already was. No, it was time to let Robin in.

"He goes by the name 'Mr. Zero', though you would likely know him better as..." Before he could finish his sentence, the Batmobile's audible speakers flooded the interior with Victor's findings in Star labs. Speak of the devil.

This was big. Victor's work at Star may have just given them the edge they needed to cut this thing off at the source. Finding Supergirl could wait, this was more important. Pressing a button on the dash of the car, Batman's voice would come in through the interior speakers of Victor's helmet.

"Mr. Zero, this is Batman. Robin and I have just entered Metropolis in the Batmobile. Don't use the satellite dish at Star. The Batmobile is equipped with a short ranged scanner, I want you to utilize it in order to isolate the signal. We will be able to pinpoint the origin of the signal much more accurately from the ground. Once you determine an origin point, we will be able to intercept. I'm sending you the Batmobile's transmitter codes now."

With the simple push of several more buttons, Victor would receive the means to utilize the Batmobile's scanner, and re purpose it into his jammer.
