The Brave and The Bold.
The cities of Gotham and Metropolis have found themselves in a peculiar situation. People have been reported missing in both cities, as if en mass. Several vital computer systems in S.T.A.R. labs have gone haywire, receiving strange and distorted messages from an unknown source. On top of all of this, reports of strange creatures have been occurring in the back alleys and dark underbelly of both cities. These reports have been largely ignored by the powers at large, however for those who work beyond the reach of the law, these reports can no longer be ignored.
There must be a connection between the cryptic signals, the dozens of missing persons, and the strange sightings, and as masked heroes, you have taken it upon yourselves to unravel this mystery.
{ENCRYPTED MESSAGE, THAAL SINESTRO, GREEN LANTERN CORPS}
*Greetings Green Lantern, Sector 1417. This message has been delivered to you in utmost secrecy. Approximately twenty solar days ago, the Green Lantern of Sector 2184 [Abin Sur] has failed to respond to any and all attempts to communicate with him. We fear that an ill fate may have befallen him, however his lantern ring has yet to return to Oa. This suggests that Abin Sur may yet live, however his lack of contact with the Guardians is concerning. Should you discover that Abin Sur has indeed been killed, it is of utmost importance that you retrieve his ring. Even more troubling, should you discover that Abin Sur has gone rogue, we entrust his arrest solely to you.
Abin Sur's last known location was on the planet locally known as "Earth", residing in sector 2184. More specifically, a human settlement known as "Metropolis". The local population should provide little threat, however we have concluded by studying his ring's most recent transmission that Abin Surr engaged in battle with a species not native to the planet. We urge caution.
Good luck, Thaal Sinestro.

RULES
1. The main common one. Respect RPN and its rules.
2. Any questions or intrigue about the plot or story come to me! I love hearing ideas even if we don't incorporate them.
3. OOC will be friendly and respectful. IC be extra and add flair all you'd like BUT...
4. BE REASONABLE. Realistically adapt and grow into characters and make logical choices based on who they are.
5. I do not mind if you guys subplot romance. I support it as well and will probably bring my character to it. Just keep it PG-13.
6. If you cannot post due to IRL or other reasons please post in consideration of everyone else. I'm interpreting this RP to go relatively fast pace wise not too speedy, so if you need assistance ask and you shall receive! And...
7. If you do fall too far behind or get in a hole you cant climb out of that doesn't mean you're done for. Unless you're intentionally a jerk or going against the tide of the plot, you can get back up to pace.
8. If you band together, or fight amongst each other IC, coordinate with each other as I will be overseeing those situations with a final outcome, but stay true to character and drama. Don't force it just because you want to.
9. HAVE FUNNNNNNNN!!!!!
10. IF YOU MAKE TERRIBLE, STUPID CHOICES YOU> WILL> DIE/SUFFER. Please be realistic and do not mary/gary sue or try to god your way through a situation, unless you're literally sacrificing yourself.
11. Now, if you read, accept, and understand all rules TO SEE THAT YOU PAID ATTENTION: At the end of your CS, write a sentence mentioning a quote specifically about a location in the DC Universe that your character likes.
- This will be a fairly mature RP with themes of death, brutality, suggestive themes, drugs, grit, etc. (Have you heard of Gotham City?)
- No mary / gary sues... for obvious reasons.
- I want to use Concept Art or Digital Art pics, which are basically a mix between realistic pics and cartoon like pics. Perfect examples would be like Batman here, or Superman here, and pictures like this for alter-egos or human characters.
- Do not join if you know you'll ditch or not stay committed, this is a expansive RP and everyone will matter and be important no matter who they play.
- Be reasonable enough to know if you pick a lesser character/power you may not be able to hang with the likes of Darkseid and such. As well as knowing not to expect team ups like Teen Titans to happen before the JLA is even formed. Everything will have an organic approach.
- It's preferred that if you play a non-powered/vigilante character you would have been working for some time in secret.
- It's preferred that if you play a powered/meta character that you're creating an origin point for getting your powers, or just very recently getting them. There will be a few exceptions just ask me first if your character would be one depending on who you choose.
- As I mentioned, characters may be altered in appearance and slight alteration to backstory, but be sure to keep the key events the same (Ex. Batman's death of parents can't change, but they way they died can be || Superman cannot change that he crash landed on Earth, but maybe he's Daxamite instead of Kryptonian or maybe Kara landed first and was adopted by the Kent's instead of him.. etc.)
There is a longstanding belief that Gotham city is the most dangerous place in the civilized world, and by all accounts that is difficult to argue. It is said that somebody commits a violent crime every thirty seconds in Gotham. This nightmare of steel and bricks has been shaped by a long history of corruption, organized crime, and even a large gallery of so called "super criminals". From the Riddler to the Penguin, from Mr Freeze to even the infamous Clown prince of crime, some of the most heartless and dangerous insane criminals have terrorized the city. Even the very police force sworn to protect the inhabitants of Gotham have been poisoned with corruption.
Unlike the wide and colorful batch of psychos that inhabit the city, there is one other local resident who has struck fear into the hearts of the wicked. The Batman, Gotham's local guardian angel and the world's first costumed vigilante. While the efforts of the Batman have given criminals something to fear, Gotham is still just as infamous as it has ever been.
Gotham city sits on the eastern coast of the United States, within driving distance to it's sister city Metropolis.
Mayor: Anthony Garcia
Population: 8.3 million (approximately)
Notable Locations: Wayne Manor, Wayne Industries, Ace Chemicals, Arkham Asylum, Blackgate prison, Divinity Church, GCPD Police station, Crime alley.
Wayne Manor / The BatcaveWayne Manor is located on the outskirts of Gotham City, and is the estate owned by billionaire and CEO of Wayne industries, Bruce Wayne. Built in the year 1645, the manor is nearly as old as the city of Gotham itself, and has housed the Wayne family for generations. It consists of over 10 bedrooms and bathrooms, a large dining area, a full on suite kitchen, a large theatre room, a fully stocked library, an outdoor basketball and tennis court, as well as a long driveway leading to a secure gate.
(Located in the vast underground cave systems beneath Wayne Manor, the Batcave is Batman's base of operations.)
Perhaps the manor's most well kept secret however, is the legendary Batcave. Hidden beneath the manor itself, the cave houses the batcomputer, the batmobile, and everything else essential to the Batman's crusade against crime.
Standing in stark contrast to it's more brutish sister city, Metropolis is a shining beacon of progress and western ideals. It's towering skyscrapers and clean streets represent a sort of hope not found in places like Gotham city, though it was not always this way. There was once a time where the city of tomorrow shared much more in common with Gotham than many residents like to remember, however thanks to strong leadership by it's mayor Alexander Luthor, commonly known as the world's smartest man, Metropolis has entered a golden age unlike any other. Crime has hit a record low, the economy is up, and public spirit has risen greatly over the last few prosperous years.
As much as he would like to claim so, this sudden upturn is not solely due to it's prolific mayor alone. No, Metropolis is home to one other citizen of great note; the alien known as Supergirl has become quite the beacon to the city in her short time being active. There are many who look upon her with great suspicion, however to the people of Metropolis, she is a hero.
Mayor: Alexander "Lex" Luthor

Notable Locations: The Daily Planet, LexCorp, Daily Star, S.T.A.R. Labs, Galaxy Communications.
Located in Metropolis, STAR Labs is a scientific research facility secretly involved in meta human affairs. S.T.A.R. was founded by scientist Garrison Slate, who wanted a nationwide chain of research laboratories unconnected to the government or any business interests. He succeeded not only on a national scale, but an international one as well: S.T.A.R. Labs currently maintains facilities in Canada, Europe, Australia, and Japan as well as in the United States, with the total number of facilities numbering between twenty and thirty at last recorded count.
While STAR is responsible for literally hundreds of research projects in dozens of different fields, it's primary purpose is to study, and even detain various meta human subjects, a fact that has remained hidden from the public eye.
