It was an... event?
Yes, that was what it had been. Or was going to be. Had it already happened? Were you attending it now?
You awaken with the beating sound of a large fan nearby, thoughts ramming into your head as you attempt to process what your current situation is. It's dark, and you can't seem to see very far, if at all. Attempting to stand up, you realize you can't move your feet, and feeling down, you realize that there are large, what appears to be steel, metal clamps holding your feet in place. Now panicked, you quickly try to recall what had brought you here.
Of course! How could you forget the Ultimate Talent Festival! Mind racing, you remember having been invited to the festival to display or use your talent to help make the event more lively, and whether or not you thought that was at all appropriate, you RSVPed and left with your family to the Kyoto countryside for the big festival. That's right, you're family... Where are they now? Are they safe? ...do you care? Shaking away these pessimistic voices, the last thing your memory recalls is walking to the event of the Festival's starting day, and looking up at the large set-up tent where the other Ultimate Students were preparing. But as you opened the flap to the tent, you felt strange, as if static replaced what you had seen and done then.
But you are startled with the sudden noise of someone else's voice. A meek, female-sounding voice amongst the darkness.
"Hello? Is anyone there?! Please, can anyone hear me?!?"
The alarmed voice slowly began to raise in worry, as you subtly noticed other noises around you, scraping, tapping, all noises that you recognized from attempting to undo the clasps on your feet. Were there other captives? Or were those the people or person who put you here, playing with your emotions like some sick game. As you are about to call out like the younger sounding voice did, the room suddenly shakes, and lurches before a humming begins, and a massive rattling is heard you begin to... ascend?
Suddenly, from above, a large slit of light appeared and seared the eyes of anyone else next to you, as it grew in size both from you getting closer to it, and from the slit opening up like a gift box. And then, you were outside.
The light had been daylight, specifically the late morning light judging by the position of the sun. In front of you is a large Yagura, or traditional festival tower. You can't seem to turn your head all the way around with injuring yourself, but you can make out fourteen others figures locked into mechanized and colorful folding chairs, just like you. They looked just as confused, and just as odd as you did around your old high-school pals before gaining your Ultimate title. Were they also super high-school talents like yourself? Where were you?
...had you been kidnapped?
