The Distant Past
The world was once an endless battlefield, a land built upon the pettiness of gods and their rivalries. A land which held mountains born from the flesh of the deceased and endless rivers of blood. Sorrow and despair would fill the air alongside ash and brimstone as endless armies of the faithful would march against untold hordes of beasts. Each led by their divine gods whether trying to survive the apocalyptic war or revel in its carnage. The very world cried for mercy, the lands shattering and the star dimming, and in the brink of the end, a force from further beyond descended upon the gods. The Arbiter was its title, and with its arrival did it bring order to the gods and peace to the suffering lands and mortals.

The Present
Though the endless war was but a distant memory of ages past, mortals would still start war between each other, inheriting the ideals of their creators even if unknowingly. You as a mortal have hit the bottom of the barrel, the abyss of your life, whether through unfortunate circumstances or deserving it, you have become a slave to an empire, fueling the machine of war with your only reward and future being that of more work and suffering. Yet perhaps that was not your final fate, for one day you and a select few slaves were selected by the divine itself to become their unwilling champions in their game. For while the gods no longer partake in cataclysmic wars, their disputes must be settled and thus is a contest held, a secret to the world. With a droplet of their power granted to you as a boon, you will become a pawn to them in these games and the first stage of it, shall be attaining your freedom as a slave.

RP Overview
Hello everybody reading this, I'm here today with a divine and godly themed RP since I can't seem to get enough of them. In this RP you play as a mortal who has hit rock bottom and become a slave only to then become a champion for a god in their secret game. Although the main characters here are the mortals, players are also expected to make their patron gods and even control them as a sort of companion/spectator for the mortals, acting almost as a coach but never directly interacting with anything or anyone to give their champion an advantage.
The contest itself is quite simple, it will be divided into separate trials with the first trial being simply to escape from the labor camp and attain their freedom. As characters progress in the story they will gain new and more powerful boons from their patron gods. Trials themselves will have and extended time between each other as sorts of timeskips in which mortal characters may improve on themselves and their skills or even develop factions or groups between the trials.
Regardless, that's the general idea of the RP and with players creating gods and such they can also add to the world and lore, adding creations, races, or even developing culture and systems for nations in the world.
