Joan holds up a hand to wave casually to Cassie "Oh Hey, the Who part gets a bit complicated and multiple choice so best just stick to Joan Madrox or Prodigy for now" giving them a grin and putting the phone away "As for the what im doing? Well, i decided i was going to join the Avengers and not really the type to do things by half so first was a bit of a display of something i was good at with the entire infiltration with the detection being a more interesting version of the doorbell you know? Nice to meet you Cassie" casually walking over to the girl without noise and offering them a handshake as she listens to the others speak with a faint nod and smile "Nice to meet you too Connor"

"But might as well throw my 2 cents in, the information might not be accurate since there are more than a few ways to mask what the place actually is, they wouldn't be the first country to hide a giant technological development or toy that falls from the sky out of worry someones going to come and take it you know? Backups are nice"
A wink over to the prince before she carries on "Also well, given the place is also a damn and things tend to explode a lot in heroics? There are a handful of places in the way should that break for any reason...." twirling a free finger around at the display while it started throwing off readings, eyes raising slightly at a few numbers with only a wider grin.

"Cats sure are curious but also have good instincts, I have reasons to pretty much go for the later from experience, hence minor concern about explosions" shrugging and turning back to Cassy "So the old better ask for forgiveness than permission...or just not let them find out ideally, Thats what SHIELD does at least...well part of it at least."

"Yeah! I can see that Falcon Obvious!" Chris responded into his mic, as his focus "Alright, here goes nothing! V!"
As soon as the Falcon spoke the word "V", a projectile shot out from his pac and sped forward at high speed. This "V" was referring to Redwing V.2.0, the drone version of Redwing that had technically existed before the original Redwing bird, much to the original Redwing's annoyance.
"*ZZZ...ZZZ...ZZZ*""Get your metal butt up there, I'm going to try to talk her down through your mic!" Chris responded to the drone's buzzes, as it's jets flared to life. Using the previous momentum, the drone shot forward, shooting past the angel like character before slowing down to keep pace with the flying being.
"Wait! I just want to talk!" A voice came out of the drone, loud enough for the angel like being to hear. It appeared that the drone was amplifying what Chris was saying, he himself gaining distance with every passing secound.

"You're hired." Connor spoke jokingly, giving the wall-crawler a light slap on the back. Whether Perry realized it or not his abilities could be useful should the situation arise for their need. T'Kanjal spoke up his opinion on the mission and Cassie chimed in as well, and whilst they made some good points Connor didn't entirely agree with them. "I trust my sister's understanding of the current political state of most countries. That said..." He glanced towards Lucy, "If they did decide to publicly call the Avengers out, a backup plan wouldn't be so bad. The proof that they had a living being trapped in a machine being used for a power source might be enough, right?" Connor was clearly uncomfortable with the idea of using it, or blackmailing in any sort of capacity. But if it prevented a war or worse, then it might be their only course. With that said he turned back to T'Kanjal and his associate. "While there is a chance at something more at play, it's not so far-fetched for a country to find unknown technology and harness its power for something useful. They wouldn't be the first." He'd had experience dealing with that sort of situation once or twice at S.H.I.E.L.D. The more poor the country the less likely they tell a soul unless they can't do anything with it, and then it gets sold to the highest bidder. "That being said, if we get in there and Cassie can confirm if anyone is even in the pod before disconnecting it we won't even have to make the swap."

Joan spoke up both on her reason for being here as well as her opinion on the mission. Admittedly he wasn't sure how comfortable he was having an unknown know of such a precarious mission but she seemed harmless enough. "Hence why we aren't going in weapons hot. The plan is not to be spotted, in and out. If things go sideways then the covert team gets out before anything gets crazy." Cassie had her job and she was off to get started, then Connor started to shuffle around the table some when Friday spoke causing him both a moment of confusion as well as humor. There was a moment of hesitation, considering they were in the middle of drawing up the mission but they had time considering they needed the Arc reactor. That and Lucy had others in the room to go back and forth with if need be. With an apologetic smile he glanced to his sister, "I won't be long, I can't leave him standing around down there." Not only that but it was odd for Isiah to simply show up at the Tower out of nowhere. With that said he backed out of the room and headed for the elevator.

Once it dinged open on the ground floor the blonde stepped out and glanced around, it wasn't hard to spot Isiah not only because of the mostly empty lobby but the man was generally hard to miss. "Look what the cat dragged in." He said while walking swiftly towards the man with a grin plastered on his face, when he neared he'd grabbed the mans hand with his own and reached with his arm for what can only be called the man-hug. Afterwards Connor stepped back looking the man over since it'd been a while since they'd seen each other, "You look good, what brings you to this neck of the woods?"

"Wait! I just want to talk!"
Andromeda slowed, eventually coming to hover in midair with her wings beating steadily. Flap. Flap. Flap. Flap. Rhythmic and almost soothing.
Something caught up with her and was now also hovering close by, and that was what had spoken. She turned her head towards the voice, narrowing her eyes instinctively, although she couldn't "see" anything. Her voice was quiet when she next spoke, leaning backwards to give herself a little distance between herself the drone.
"Why should I trust you? You were chasing me."
The question escaped her lips faster than an "I apologize for hitting you" did. She was immediately distrustful, but that didn't mean she wasn't sorry. While she hoped she hadn't hurt her pursuer, she also was not about to apologize until she knew his exact intentions.

Natalie Strange
New York - National Bank

Natalie's concentration waned - the oppressive weight of a multitude of concrete crushing down on the mythical barrier with hapless aggression - several of the translucent sapphire nets began to shatter in an array of artificial splinters at the bank's east side, barely half of the crowd had evacuated the scene. Panic began to set in as her ragged breathing intensified, she couldn't hold it, she couldn't save these people. Her mind began to descend into a mixture of desperation, urgency and terror; the question of her own survival playing in her mind, she glanced to the portal and back to the crowd. An earnest moral dilemma burrowing into her mind, the question of leaving the crowd and escaping through the portal herself. Deep beads of sweat dripping down her face as she briefly considered the unthinkable. If she didn't - she'd perish alongside them. Her strength already sapped.

Just then, her prayers were answered, the muscled form of the local Hulk smashing through the front door with heroic reprieve. She squinted nervously, her mind melting under the weight of the bank. Blinking through a haze of nausea she spotted Boston escorting people through the portal, the sight dragging her into an urgent second-wind as she re-focused the spell. When the offer of help was extended, she let out an audible sigh of relief, which came out more like a grateful squeal.
"East... side, I can't hold the pillars!" She told Boston desperately, the knowledge that he'd handle it predominantly sapping her extra-willpower to raise the pillars there. Perhaps unceremoniously, she pulled the spell back from the eastern pillars and focused on her own side, the struggle still immense but far more bearable - she just hoped she hadn't given Boston too much - but he was the Incredible Hulk, she had faith in his abilities. Truthfully, she couldn't have asked for a better person to help do an improvised workout with a whole-freaking-bank.

"Wow, didn't expect you to actually stop, but okay, this things much easier."

"V" would follow as the angel like being began to slow, slowing down it's own pace as the being began to hover. As Falcon approached, V flew back to Falcon and inserting itself back into his pack. Falcon on his part flew up to the winged female and activated his "hover mood", causing the thrusters on his back roar a bit more loudly then initially. Unlike the angel like being in front of him, Falcon couldn't really flap his wings to hover, so instead he had to rely on his pack's thrusters to keep him from plummeting. However, Falcon kept his arms extended to the side, allowing for the pair of metallic wings to remain extended.

"Okay, so yeah, I was chasing you..."
"*SCREECH*""...and yes, I probably did look like a deranged manic when I did....chase you... But still! ain't it a bit rude to do hit-and-run and not check on your victim? What if I had lost control and plummeted to my death? That could have been on your conscious, ya know?...Unless your the sociopathic kind, in that case this might have been intentional, um...."Redwing began to circle the two, flapping his wings instead of utilizing his jet thrusters."...yeah, so anyways....guess I'm just trying to say there are not that many people who have wings...I mean okay, yeah, I got wings, but these are fake wings so they don't really count...but you know, angel wings...are...are you a angel?...Not in the "Oh your an angel!" way, but like, you know the "tho is all holy" kind...are you....are you a message from god?...Was that crash suppose to tell me somthing?...Should I be-"*Screech!*" "...Oh, right, uh... I just...I guess I just came here to say, erm, watch where you going next time...you're lucky it wasn't Ca-I mean Iron Girl.....yeah, that probably could have been a lot worse then crashing into me...like hitting a iron wall bad, um, I probably would have just turned to paste if we crashed at the speed I was going, so..." Falcon visibly squinting at the winged individual infront of him."...your not....your not some hitma-women out trying to take out the Avengers...are you?"

Lucy smirked, hearing Perry's excitement to lend his abilities to the cause; something she appreciate from one of their younger members. She knew he had the skill set, even if he didn't have the confidence in himself. She nodded as Connor accepted the offer; it was expect truthfully. Perry was an asset, like every member of the rest of their team. She turned her attention to T'kanjal as he voiced his concerns in regards to their approach. He certainly wasn't wrong. This whole thing could go sideways and it would be the Avengers logo holding the bag. She pursed her lips, considering but quickly lost focus as Cassie headed to her lab. "Take your friend," She called after Cass, hoping the girl would take Pietro with her.

She was about to speak, actually make an amendment to her plan, when Joan spoke up about the plan and her involvement. Lucy blinked, listening to the scattered thoughts about heroics and cats, slowly shaking her head. "While I appreciate your enthusiasm your doorbell ploy didn't garner you any points. If the Tower had been unmanned, Friday would have sent out the Iron Legion to handle you and it would have made us your enemy. My statement from earlier hasn't changed; this is a mission for members of my team. We're too busy at the moment to review your application with you, however if you return - via the front entry - you'll be considered like everyone else. Connor and I are organizing a team of new recruits to be evaluated. I'll be sure to include you among them."

Lucy returned her attention to the prince, with Connor and Cassie bailing on her -something she wasn't going to let either of them live down- she still had their guest and his companion to entertain. "I understand what you mean, your highness." She state simply. "And I agree; should they deny our request and we take the pod regardless it would look poorly on us and our allies. Perhaps then we should have the covert team infiltrate, while you and I speak with their government, do to as Conner said: confirm a body. Once we receive confirmation at that point we should advise them that we are reclaiming our lost property and leaving behind the functioning replacement instead. This way they don't have an opportunity to counter measure our offer: take it or have no power." She shrugged, leaning her hip against the table. "I don't like dealing that way but it's preferable to tarnishing our image to the world."

She keeps the grin on her face "I mean by all means not like I know anything about the Chitauri Cybernetic Stasis Pods, not like a cold-blooded race would use cryo technology" speak with the same calm casual ease as before, she seemed relatively unaffected by the rejection, almost as if the entire exchange was just a bit of a game yet an uncurrent of a relaxed humility. Turning to leave with a wave as she gives one final glance around the room but stopping at the doorway recalling something "Oh right Just be careful opening it as that race does have a neat techno-organic virus, pretty much if anyone gets a shock from it? You're going to want to talk to SHIELD about the vaccine, I left my number on the refrigerator when you want me to audition" a short wink from her eye before walking off down the hall in the direction the girl's sibling went to wait for the elevator, the tower itself was looking good from the exploration but she debated whether to stowaway on the Quinjet, it would get her there but then she sister would likely get upset and she would have to listen to all that. So instead she picks up the phone and starts to speak.

"Yep mission accomplished, Its good but got more holes than your socks....yeah id say that part needs randomising, would stop a team but not a single trained....Oh no i didn't tell her, where the fun in that?....hey if they don't read the files i can't help it" carrying on the conversation with the person on the other end of the phone "Yeah application audition process...I mean it could be fun right? Id send a offical email but....hmm well if you think thats a better idea..."

T'Kanjal glared at the one that proclaimed herself as the "Prodigy", but said nothing, opting to ignore her.

'Such a typical child...thinks she knows everything of the world...not even Aunt Shuri speaks that arrogantly...'

After the teen left, T'Kanjal continued to remain quiet, as his gaze was focused back on the table. The Prince's silence was very noticeable, as it would appear that he was deep in thought about somthing...as he closed his eyes...

"T'Kanjal..." The Prince finally spoke, opening his eyes again as he slowly turned to look at Lucy. "....you...and who every is legitimately on this team...from this point onward may refer to me as T'Kanjal, or the Black Panther...I do not particularly care of which one you call me...all I care is that you drop the "highness" crap...if we are to be on a team together, it would be good if everyone would be able to relax around me..." For whatever reason T'Kanjal glanced at Perry when he said that, before returning his attention back to Lucy. "...Before we continue, I believe there is one individual here who has not been announce."

T'Kanjal stepped aside, revealing a grinning Liu sitting on his luggage.

"This is my most trusted friend, Tien Liu..." Liu bounced onto his feet at the mention of his name, taking his place next to his best friend. "...while we may not be related by blood, this man is my brothers all the same...he's been on me many missions with me for a country that was not of his own...and has saved my life on more occasion then I can remember. His father, Shang Chi, may be more familiar to you, as he was formerly known as the Master of Kung Fu...now Liu holds that title...take it from me, his skills are in every way underrepresented by that title."

"It is a pleasure to meet you...and please, the Prince exaggerates, as I am merely humble student of martial arts..." Liu said, bringing his hands together into a sort of Kung Fu salute, all the while bowing his head. "...while I am indeed capable of combat, I'm afraid that, unlike our gracious Prince here, my skills do not have many utilities beyond those related to combat..." Liu maintained his saulte, but raised his head to look at Lucy. "However, if I may be of service in anyway, please, do not be hesitant to ask."

With a nod, Liu lowered his hands out of his salute, as T'Kanjal spoke up again.

"I will be assuming that I will be responsible as being on the "political team", seeing as you will need a translator....I will begin the procedures necessary to open up channels for communication. If you wish, Captain...I can provide you a meeting with the Somalian Prime Minister."

Friday let him know where Cassie was and Finn thanked the AI. There was also another figure in the room with him now that Friday recognized as Isaiah Coulson. He probably should have been shocked about that, but there was only so many things one could be shocked at before they became totally numb to small things like recognizing a surname. Hypothetically the chances of this Coulson being related to Phil Coulson were pretty slim. However statistics regarding anyone even vaguely affiliated with superheroes changed quite drastically as soon as you were within walking distance of some sort of Avenger hangout. He gave a quick nod back to Isaiah. He was thinking of talking to the guy but it seemed like he had some business with Connor and it was likely that he would be down soon. Did he stay to have polite conversation? Should he just head up without saying anything? "Isaiah Coulson huh? Finn Wagner. I'll probably see you around." He threw a quick wave the guy's way before he disappeared with a poof.

He reappeared in the kitchen, a few of the dead flower petals dropped off and floated to the ground. That was... a very ominous sounding thing to say to the guy. I'll apologize to him next time I see him. Finn himself would have probably been nervous had someone said that and than teleported away. He opened up what felt like every cupboard in hopes of finding a suitable vase for the gift. He could have found darn near anything in that tower but a vase? Apparently not in the books. I bet there are none. What are the chances that they have flowers often? In the end Finn decided to pull out a large glass that was certainly not for flowers but was now going to be used for flowers. There was of course the chance that the flowers would knock over the glass. He gently placed them in and let go, hands still close enough to catch it if it fell. It stayed standing. He let out a quiet sigh before trying to figure out his next dilemma. He would have to put water into the cup but water wasn't exactly a fan of teleportation. I'll risk it. He filled the cup halfway and teleported out of the room.

Landing just outside of Cassie's lab was exactly as he thought would happen. He had stuck his hand over the opening of the cup to hopefully prevent water spillage, and while it had worked a bit there was still a slight damp spot on his t-shirt. Finn grumbled as he wiped his damp hand on his pants before straightening up and knocking on the door. It was more out of politeness than anything as he walked in anyways without waiting for an answer. His heart was beating fast but he didn't let it show. "Hey Cass! Been a while. I brought you something. A 'surprise I'm here for a while' gift you could call it. I couldn't find a vase though. Hope you don't mind. Uh. How have things been? Lots of people around as per usual." Just talk non-stop. Because everyone loves that you doofus. It's also not much like you. I talk to myself more than other people...

Isaiah glanced up at the sound of someone speaking his name, lowering his hand as the metal receded in on and itself and disappeared. He returned Finn's nod with a polite smile, opening his mouth to reply when the man suddenly disappeared. His eyebrows arched at the display, his jaw snapping shut as he shook his head. It wasn't long before Connor was rounding the corner in Finn's place. Izzy grinned, pushing off of the wall he leaned against lightly to meet his friend halfway and return the embrace.

"Likewise. Sorry to drop in on you like this. As of a few weeks ago, I'm a free man. The Army's had enough of me it seems," Coulson said lightly, hoping the forced humor in his voice masked any second thoughts he was feeling. "I applied to SHIELD. They turned me down... again," Isaiah said, pausing for a moment. "Then your dad got in touch with me, sent me your way. So here I am," he finished, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

Alvira was getting excited about this arrangement. "Peachy," she said in return to Kyo. "I don't think I have anything better to do. My name's Alvira, by the way, in case you care to know. And I'm sure we'll have ways to settle the conflict without as much bloodshed as you think."

Just then, the waiter brought over a steaming bowl of red soup. Alvira took one spoonful, tilted her head, and said, "Hmm... needs more soup." She flicked her hand, and slightly transmuted the soup with a short puff of smoke. It was a good way to practice her powers, and, plus, it tasted better afterward.

"So then, Kyo", she asked, who's on our hitlist? Who're these people I need to know so we can turn this hunter-hunted situation upside down?"

Alvira wasn't paying much attention. Kyo seemed to be pretty well under her charm, but he was still glancing nervously around the restaurant. Maybe he noticed the man reaching for a concealed weapon on the other side.

Lucy blinked as T'Kanjal said his own name. She was momentarily confused, having to recount her last statement to ensure that she hadn't pronounced his name incorrectly. Thankfully the prince following up with a further explanation, giving herself and the other members of her team, the chance to perhaps learn more about him and make this partnership a little more personable. She certainly did not miss the mention of only those who were legitimately part of the Avengers, however. She had hoped that Joan would have remained silent until they were done; she didn't want to bring to attention the fact that a no one had come into their Control Room and added their opinions. She looked past T'Kanjal to Liu as he was being introduced. "A pleasure and an honour to meet you." She smiled. Truthfully she was thankful the prince finally had introduced his companion - not only was she insatiably curious but there was a small part of her that a third person had managed to infiltrate the Tower this evening.

She regarded T'Kanjal as he continued and she nodded. "I was hoping you could assist me with the political aspect of our mission: I've been studying multiple languages, however I'm not a linguist by any means and I'd just embarrass myself if I even tried. It's Lucy, by the way. The Captain ducked out of this meeting to go see his friend downstairs." She glanced around the now empties Control Room, save for the three of them. "I think we've wrapped up everything we can for today. If you want, I can show you to your rooms and take you for a tour of the Tower? If you want to rest after your travels, we can certainly postpone a tour until later tonight as well. Just let me know."

Lucy nodded towards the doorway where the men had left their luggage in the hall. "Oh, and Friday is always available to direct you to whatever you need and get in contact with any of the Avengers if something comes up."

AI Interjection.

"Updating Name Preferences....." Friday said over the loudspeakers. It seems that the AI was actively listening to their conversation. "Done. T'Kanjal. If you and Tien Liu would like something to eat, the kitchen is behind you, down the hall to your left. Miss Stark has the fridge and pantry stocked with all kinds of different foods, as most everyone in the tower has very different food preferences... although I've never observed one of her Teammates to say no to a large Pizza, if that is what you would prefer. The rooms are down a separate hall to your immediate right, and Miss Stark has already given the two of you a room. If you do not mind rooming together, that is. If your preferences are to be in separate quarters, I can arrange that as well."
The AI's voice addressed Lucy next. "Miss Rogers, Finn Wagner stopped by and is currently in the lab. Mr. Rogers might want to speak to him about the stealth team, given that his abilities are ideal for getting in and out of places undetected."

Surprise (and Welcome) Visit.

Cassie hummed Queen casually as she pulled up specs for the pod, sliding them to a holo-screen to her left. To her right were blueprints for her father's original arc reactor.
"Caaaaan

"

A knock on her door stopped her singing and caused her to jump. She sighed, hearing a familiar voice. She turned and smiled. "Finn! Good to--" she stopped her usual greeting and her eyes widened a little bit. "You brought flowers!" She said with a smaller, slightly more bashful smile. "Oh, uh...." she looked around for a place to put them and settled on her PC table, clearing off a few old paper drafts to make a spot. "Here...." she walked over and took the glass gently from him and set the flowers down. She noted with amusement that he had found a drinking glass instead of a vase. Her mother knew where all of the good vases were, not anyone else, so it was endearing that Finn had "made do" with the glass. "Thank you." She hoped he didn't notice she was blushing. "So, uh... you're staying for a while? And... yeah, the tower's pretty crowded, as per the norm."
Stupid. Way to go, "genius." Where was I even going with that? 'As per the norm?' Who says that?!? Oh well.... it's not that big a deal, right? Right.

Questions and Apologies.

Andromeda looked puzzled at first now that she and the stranger were face-to-face. She could hear the roar of his jets and the screeching of his.... falcon. Yes, she was sure it was a falcon this time. The stranger didn't seem to be at all aggressive, and even questioned if she was an angel. She chuckled a little. This wasn't the first time she had been asked that particular question.
"No.... I suppose you're right.... I should have stopped and apologized...." she said, her voice an odd mixture of loud enough to be heard but soft-spoken. "I'm sorry for running into you. You startled me, is all. And no.... I'm not an angel.... or an assassin..." she gave a sheepish little wave. "I'm a mutant..... and I thought you might have been a mutant hunter...." she cocked her head a little. "Why do you have those wings if you're not a hunter?"
It was a genuine question. So far the only threat this man posed was to his own tongue, he was tripping over it so much. Andromeda slowly let her guard down but remained aware of the bird circling her. "And who is your winged friend?"

"Very well...Lucy...I will take you up on that offer...I've a number of phone calls to make in preparation for our mission, and it would be nice to get some privacy as I do..." T'Kanjal spoke, glancing side to side, looking out for a particular individual.
"Indeed, it is best we all take sometime to rest up before the our next mission..." Liu began rubbing his chin, glancing over to T'Kanjal "...if any of the things you've said prove correct, then we may out in the field for a while..though they shall prove interesting, as the mission's I've normally been on have been pure combative. Were we encounter any form of danger, we have nothing to fear; the prince's armor along should win us the day."
"Well, It has been much time since I've...don the suit...but, if all goes well, I may not need to..."
The a voice came over the intercom, causing the two men to look upwards indifferently. A female voice spoke, outlinging the Avenger's tower for them, as the two men took in the information.
"If you may, Friday, I think we may prefer separate living accommodations, as we do have some differing routines..." Liu called out to the intercome, before looking at T'Kanjal with a grin. "...I don't want to bother the fair Prince and his beauty sleep, as I think my training regime is a bit intense for him."
"Or you've simply grown complacent without me all these years..." T'Kanjal said as he gave his friend a "light" punch on the shoulder(to which Liu hardly even flinched), smiling for the first time since he have arrived. Yet as soon as his smile appeared, it vanished as he gazed upon Lucy. "...so...Lucy, if there is nothing else you need from us, then we shall be retiring to our quarters. "Ah, okay, that makes a whole lot of sense, hehe..." The Falcon would have scratched his hands, but his hands were a bit preoccupied at the moment. "...yeah, again, sorry for chasing after you like that, I can see how you might have confused me from a bounty hunter, no harem done. It's just, you know...well that's the thing, you don't really know when they'res a baddies around the corner...I mean, well..."

"Not many people really know me, since I don't have a fancy shield or a suit made of iron or can turn into the jolly Green Giant's mascot, but, I am indeed, an Avenger." "*Screetch!*" "And yeah, that sack of feather over their is also, technically, an Avenger. His name is Redwing..." "Screetch!" "...He says hello...""Screetch!" "...No matter how angry he sounds sometimes...""Screetch!" "Anyways...They call me the Falcon, 'cause, well...you could probably see why, although I think I'm technically Falcon Jr...and yeah, you probably never heard of me...hell, I'd be more surprised if you did, since I've always been more of a background character compare to Con-I mean Captain America...and Miss America...and Iron Girl...I'm pretty sure more people know who Warlock and Singularity more then me, and...well, a lot of Avengers...but still, even being a no name background character, or, Avenger rather, danger usually's right around the corner for us...sometime quite literally...as you probably saw."

It was a fairly typical and generally sunshiney day for Walt. Well, as much as it always was for him. His truck was having engine issues. Again. Namely his belt snapped starting it up. The same two week old belt head just replace because it was getting old. Then he missed the subway because the ticket machine at his coins, followed by the security checkpoint getting jammed with him in it. So obviously getting a bus was on the to-do list, but it had gotten a flat about three blocks back, and lord knew he wasn't getting one of those private, smart phone based rides, given his outdated to hell and back phone.

So of course, with people running towards him en masse as a mutant barrelled down the street a few blocks down the way he was going, he just sighed and withdrew his flask from his vest pocket. Because this was just another typical day. Honestly, he wasn't even going to begin bothering to get involved with this either. Oh, yeah, sure, he had definitely faced worse than a humanoid elephant, but this just wasn't his kind of problem. He threw kids out of bars, or got thrown out of bars. Someone else was more than welcome to play hero. As the elephant man seemed to draw closer it managed to knock a old newspaper box clean from its mountings, slamming it into a nearby lightpole. Which also broke free from it's mountings and started to fall across the street.

All of this meant very little to Walt as he took another shot of whiskey, watching with a stupid grin as the chaos unfolded.

"Maggie!"

A grin that dropped immediately as he saw a little girl, fearfully running away from the incoming elephant man, not even notice the lightpost collapsing above her. Dropping his flask, the old Marine dashed forward, racing gravity as his feet dug into the ground, propelling him forward. Fifteen, ten, five and then impact as he wrapped the girl in a frame of arms and torso, rolling across the ground as the crash of the lightpost coming to a rest on the hood of a car sounded behind him. Rising up, he looked down to see the girl was okay before erratic footsteps thumping to his left showed the elephant man almost stumble over himself trying to avoid running into the pair, killing a good chunk of his momentum.

"Hey!" Walt barked, standing and advancing on the mutant, "Yeah, you! Fucking dick for a nose. You see what the fuck you just did?!"

It almost appeared Walt was gesturing to the child as her mother an up to collect her, or even to the lightpost. A keen eye would have, however, spotted a spilt flask further past that.

"Yeah, you owe me a flask of fucking Speyside Single Malt motherfucker-"

As Walt was yelling the elephant man slowly stepped over the lightpost, casting an incredulous look as he started looking like he was about to take off running. Still, what a ballsy little shit this human seemed to be to it.

"-Wait, fuck're you going? No, I'm not done with you bitch, c'mere." Walt continued as he realised the elephant man was aiming to bolt. Knowing a threat when he saw one, Walt advanced on the down pole and planted a hand on it to vault as his other dipped into his vest to find the grip of his vest. Seemingly realising he was going for a gun, the elephant man suddenly wrenched a car door free from it's mountings and hurled it straight at his face as he was mid vault. There should've been no possibly way for Walt to dodge the oncoming projectile, but the weight beneath his left palm suddenly disappeared as the lightpost rolled off the car hood it had come to rest on.

With a startled yell, Walt immediately fell, slamming into the pavement under him, full on flat on his back. As he did so the impromptu projectile whizzed by over head and went skimming down the road as the elephant man continued running. Taking a moment to catch his breath, Walt grimaced as he sat up and checked himself over quickly before turning to look at the fleeing mutant.

"That's what I thought! Bitch!" he called after as his hand dipped into a cargo pocket and he pulled out another flask of Speyside, muttering darkly, "Least I still got time to go withdraw my money at the fucking bank. Stupid fucking New York with it's stupid ridiculous criminals."

Getting up, Walt started meandering down the street, not even bothering with the flabbergasted bike cop sputtering at him, and certainly not with any intent to deal with the kids that seemed to be coming his way either.

Boston nodded towards the girl- knowing that she probably won't be able to see his response, his hulking form rushing towards the eastern side. As he moved along the cracked marble floor, he grabbed large chunks of reinforced concrete - his back and forearm muscles tensing as his fingers pressed into the stone as though made of clay, before placing the large pieces against the pillar. Pressing the stone together at the base, he got up- his eyes focused on the structure, before grabbing the pillar, giving it a bear hug. Pressing his face against the marble, he clenched his eyes closed as he squared his legs, clenching around the stone, before rising, a loud roar escaping him as he exerted force. His eyes flashing open, he peered up along towards the roof, seeing the large piece of the ceiling supported by it, before pressing up. The cracks that had been forming alongside the pillar compressed into itself, re-stabilizing as he balanced the beam, adjusting for pressure whenever needed. The effort itself did not exert him, at least not yet, but it needed to focus. The upper limits of his strength were well above this, but he was better at breaking or throwing things - not playing Jenga with a building.

As he tried to focus on the task at hand, he felt something land on his tensed shoulder. Not looking away, he felt a smile grace his face, as he heard her speak. Nodding, his head barely moving against the smooth surface. "Hey shortstuff. I am in a bit of a..." He felt the thing start to give way, re-positioning himself, before taking a breath. "You can help those stragglers get out. Whip em into shape. I can't hold this forever. I think witch girl and I got this side of things." Huffing again, he hoped that she would manage to get some of them out before the whole place came down. Feeling her lift off, he went back to focusing on the task at hand.

Pressing his feet firmly into the ground, feeling like the structure had become somewhat more stable - at least on his side, he looked over towards the girl that seemed to be on her end, her hair frayed and her brow covered in sweat - her cheeks a dark pink. Clearing his throat, he called out to her - "Fucking hell girl, you did an amazing job! You must be one hell of a chick to be able to pull this off! Nice one! You can do it. Come on. We can do this. WE CAN DO THIS!" His voice rose up above the noise and the screams, the groaning of the building seemingly not loud enough to drown out his pep-talk. Seeing a group of spectators looking at him from the side, having stopped running outside, he turned his head towards them. "Hey! GET OUT OF HERE! MOVE MOVE MOVE!" With the last 'move' being little more than a roar in their direction, the stunned crowd started rushing out once more. He looked around, but could not see the tiny speck that would be Robin. "If you can run, take someone with you who can't! Come on people! This is heavy!" As the last word escaped his mouth he could hear the building start to groan even more. The sound of fire burning away at paperwork scattered everywhere, catching the errant furniture on fire as well, slowly enveloping and weakening the structure even more. Even with both of them holding the roof up... this place was not gonna last long.

As the last few on his side managed to rush out, he saw a piece of the roof crack out, falling down directly towards her blind-spot. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the pillar up, vaulting it almost through the roof to scatter and break some of the larger chunks, before crouching down, jumping towards her like a bullet. Landing next to her like a tank strapped to a parachute, he placed his large arms around her for cover, as the fireball of rock and steel crashed into his back. Clenching his jaw as one of the support iron rods pierced into his shoulder, he reached behind himself ripping it out, turning towards her. "Hey! We gotta go! Short stuff, where are you? We gotta go!"

Beyond a glass divide of the Laboratory rests the form of Jocasta posed in front of one of the reflective metallic surfaces with a focused look within their eyes as they look to their own image, a soft whirring as the eye zoom in and out taking in each and every detail of her appearance before comparing such to a several other holographic displays of assorted magazine covers and articles. Clicking and hydraulics eventually begin to sound out from the other side as the dimensions of her arms seem to begin to constrict to give a slimmer appearance, the android actually posing slightly, before moving once more to widen the arms almost giving the appearance of muscular contours. The process has been ongoing for some time since the morning in her attempts to discover what type of human she wished to attempt to be amongst the public, humans....it was most confusing with the variety of models their genetic sequence offered with each showing preference for different features that no exact consensus was reached on the balance between forms and functions, and that was before the additional fields such facial expression, garment design, fabric, colours or accessories...and countless more, they truly were paradoxical contradictions but then again so was she was she not?.

Her body remains still for a moment as her head turns to face the singing noise, observing the individual who had allowed them assistance to bring them to this point, she was singing? Yes humans communicate vocally in such expressions though wish to do so privately, her reactions were....amusing the correct term would be, and a new individual exchange plantlife...was this part of the courtship ritual? It must be a prospective partner. Turning the rest of her body she is about to step outside before her hand stops at the door, each partner attempts to show the best of their available resources in such exchanges so exciting in standard form would perhaps prove detrimental to Cassandra, so with a faint hum her body begins to show a thin layer of synthetic skin, starting white but slowly adding pigment, fibres emit from her head in a short cut of black hair and a faint raising of her internal temperature finishes the transformation, she may adjust this once later but this will do for now.

Finally exiting the now human-looking automation gives a faint smile and starting to speak in a warm cheerful tone "Good afternoon Cassandra, I do apologise if I am interrupting the courtship from your potential....boyfriend" that was the term right? her eyes quickly scan the other blue-skinned individual curiously, yes he was male and blue fur? now that was something interesting. Walking up to them to scan them closer "He is definitely a choice of good health, the blue fur is very..." fluffy? comfortable? warm? "Cute, definitely a unique appearance but i have yet to see it before outside those strange websites groups" seeming to be patting the boys head before running a hand across his face and then going for a hug giving little mind for the personal space of Finn.

Alvira, Kyo repeated to himself in his mind putting name to face. Her optimism sounded a little convincing but growing up in the Hand greatly overshadowed that optimism. “Name’s Kyo.” He responded to her introduction. When the waiter walked up Kyo took a moment to pan the room. She undoubtedly brought some attention to their table so some looks were warranted. His attention was drawn to her next question.

“Our greatest enemy are the Beast and the other 4 new Fingers. Like me they’re relatively unknown offspring of the former Fingers. The Beast wouldn’t risk exposing their talents so early. Our immediate enemy is whoever the Hand sends after me here. What needs to be done is I must defeat whoever sits at the top of Clan Yashida and that’s unknown. There was word back when I was in the Hand that someone defeated Kenuichio but I wasn’t installed early which means someone had to step in or he isn’t dead.” Kyo explained.

Kyo saw the assassin late because of Alvira’s charms. He reacted the only way he could knowing it’d set off the whole room. Kyo’s eyes turned bright red as his tachyon field manifested protecting Alvira and deflected a poison kunai that was thrown at her. “Looks like they found me.” Kyo commented in pure frustration.

He kicked up the table and threw it dropping his tachyon field, instead using it to draw forth the Honor Yashida Sword. The assassin vanished amongst crowds of fleeing customers and workers. Kyo knew the Hand were going to come at him again. He didn’t even make it back to Alvira before he had to use his tachyon field as a force field again to block several kunai. “We need to change the venue we cannot fight them here.” He explained.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Connor said genuinely, he knew Isiah was at least content with his place in the Army if nothing else. Though hearing how the other man found his way to the tower was mildly surprising. "Well we all know you're more than qualified for SHIELD, if my father turned you down and sent you our way...he had his reasons." Connor tapped at his chin momentarily, gears grinding as he tried to deduce if there was a deeper reason beyond the basic ones before giving up to continue the conversation. "So what are we talking here. You just looking for a place to stay, or were you hoping to slum it on the Avengers team?" He smiled at him, not everyone who did the hero line of work sought to be an Avenger by any means but even so Connor wouldn't pretend he didn't like the thought of Isiah signing up. They'd trained and fought alongside each other over the years, and Isiah was one of the few people Connor could say he trusted completely to have his back. But if he was simply hoping for a place to crash while he figured his life out, then Connor was more than open to help him with that.

Isaiah nodded his head in silent thanks to Connor's sympathy, knowing that it wasn't simply a show of obligated pity on his part. His friend had always been beyond unceasingly empathetic -- no doubt taking after his father in that regard. Coulson cocked his head slightly as he saw the gears turning in Connor's brain, an expression he was quite familiar with. Somehow it seemed more intimidating now than it would when he was seeing it during the planning phases of a dangerous mission.

It wasn't long before Connor came out with the question: one that had been floating in Isaiah's own mind ever since Steve turned him away. He had known the answer to it all this time, but found putting it in words difficult all the same. "I'm not out to make your tower my bachelor's pad, don't worry," Izzy joked lightly. "I--" he paused, squaring his shoulders. "I want to help. However I can. I know this isn't the Army anymore and you have every right to turn me down after what happened in my last op..." his voice trailed off as he realized he was on the verge of ranting.

Connor hadn't been present during the raid that had seen Isaiah's team killed and himself left with new, stranger abilities than the ones he'd gotten from his biological parents, but Izzy didn't kid himself into thinking that he hadn't heard all about it through the proverbial grapevine.

Pat was about to make his landing on the elephant man, before he ducked, Pat didn't understand why he had, but a shadow had covered him, and his radar was screaming at him to look left, he turned his head and barely had time to get an 'oh shit' before it slammed into his body, sending him sailing the opposite direction. He crashed through a wall and into the an apartment.

My everything hurts. he thought as he came sliding to a stop at the foot of two buzzed teens. Your lower three ribs are broken and have punctured your lung, your right leg is also broken. I shall fix them. Slaughter said as he felt his everything rearranged into its correct position. "God fucking dammit." he groaned as he stood up. He tool the vape from the teen and shoved it into his maw, chewing and destroying it before spitting it back out onto the ground. "Vaping's for pussies." he said as he walked out to the hole in the side the building, he looked at them over his shoulder in typical cool guy fashion, before hunching down into a bear crawl stance, three tendrils shooting out of his back on each side anchored themselves into the floor, and as he straightened his legs, the tendrils straightened with them, propelling him through the air like a bullet.

He landed in the wake of the destruction and began running. He wouldn't make the same mistake as last time, due to he was fast on his own, but his suit allowed him to move like never before. He found he had caught up with the elephant, and had found that someone else was chasing them as well. "Yo wolfman." he said as he ran side by side with the man running on all fours. "You go low, and I go high!" when he yelled high he repeated what he had done exiting the apartment, propelling himself upwards before forming an axe on each arm and coming down for a double swing to the mutants back where the old man was.

Lucy descended the ramparts leading down to the hangar where the Avengers had assembled. Days ago she, Connor and Cassie had made the necessary calls to bring in those they deemed needed for their current retrieval mission and the applicants they had seen fit to call in and start the process of initiation and training. Her vetting process had delayed her; there were a few of the applicants who had rather unique and mysterious backgrounds. It had taken a little extra digging to satisfy her deep seeded needs to know every detail about the people who may one day wear their symbol and call themselves a part of their team. She hated being late, though this one occasion she was willing to accept it, just to see the gathered within the hangar. It was a rare showing, at least to Lucy, to see their numbers bolstering. For a long time there had been a lull in recruitment - whether she and Connor had been too demanding or the Avengers name didn't have the pull it once way - seemed to be over.

She felt uncomfortable with her attire; typically a 'mission' like this would mean they'd all be clad in their typical uniforms with full Avengers decals but the subtlety and her part to play in this, meant she had to be Lucy, not Miss America. It was odd to see everyone in darker versions of their usual gear, almost looking like an organized military rather than who they truly were. Not to mention her pant suit clashed horribly with her ideals, wanting nothing more than to don her own armour. The suit itself had been a heated debate: she did her best to meet the expectations of those they were visiting the Somalian government and to keep true to who she was. There had been arguing, by all parties, for both sides of wearing something traditional versus wearing the suit but in the end the suit had won.

She approached the three groups of people, naturally separated by those gravitating to others they knew. "Thank you all for coming in today, my apologies for being late." She turned to address the Avengers directly, wanting to coordinate their teams prior to settling the initiates in. "Cassie, Rigel: you'll be in charge of the Cryo Pod and conversion to arc reactor. I trust you've both studied up and are prepared for this. Connor, your team of Perry, Isaiah and Finn will assist in getting Cassie and Rigel into the complex and keep the cost clear until they can confirm a body. T'Kanjal, Liu and myself will be heading to the capitol to speak with their senate. We'll draw out the formalities as long as possible, but we need your intel. asap; if there's no body we abort."

Lucy waited a moment before turning to Chris and Jocasta. "You two are our watchtower. We'll need eyes keeping us posted on any signs they're aware of our true intentions." She knew she could trust the two of them to watch their backs. She turned to address the gathered initiates who's applications had been approved and vetted. "Today you'll be running simulations under the watchful eyes of Chris and Jocasta. I want to be very clear and honest with everyone here: this isn't a show about how good you are or how impressive you can be. These tests and simulations are so we can see how to work with others and alone. There are not right or wrong answer in this. I am only going to ask you once to be respectful of those who may be giving you tips and pointers: they're not meant to be anything but that; in order to make the team, you'll have to work with us, not against us."

She took a moment to look over the gathered heroes again, enjoying the moment as a thrill of adrenaline coursed through her. "So, any questions before we leave?"

If I tagged you and you haven't completed the streets of NYC brawl currently on-going feel free to ignore until you've finished and then join the tower after the fact. If I didn't tag you and should have, I'm sorry - there is a long list of tags. Some honorary members didn't get tagged because they weren't included on this mission.

The faint sounds of singing quit once he had entered the room. And she was so gentle with the flowers. And if she had noticed the fact it was a drinking glass she hadn't cared. How can someone that works with heavy equipment be so gentle. She asked if he was staying for a while and he nodded. Not quite sure what to do with his hands he stuffed one in his pocket and the left one tugged on the hair around his ears. "Yup! No X-Men stuff right now. Figured I would stop by and visit those I haven't seen in a while. Though, uh, to be honest you're the first person I've seen so far." Cassie had that look on her face like she was deep in thought and he wondered what was on her mind.

Not that he minded the fact that he had only seen her. The tower was always busy and he would get to them all eventually. In came another girl and things got... Rather odd. The term potential boyfriend was thrown out into the wind and Finn found himself looking at his feet while really yanking on his hair. He had indeed been getting tired of beating around the bush but he wasn't sure if he could pull up the courage now to ask her on a date. Like we have time for that sort of thing. Wow what a downer.

If he thought that was odd than things were about to get even more odd. It took quite a bit to phase him. Talks of personal life stuff, dating, romance, and how cute he was certainly did the trick. It was physically impossible to not notice how much he was blushing. His face was shades darker than normal and he had accidentally yanked a few strands of hair from his head. That habit was stopped once another hand was running through his hair and face. He quite liked when people touched his hair, though normally he preferred it to be people he at least knew. Awkwardly he patted the back of the girl when she hugged him. You haven't said anything, how rude. "Oh. Uh. Finn. Wagner." He tried to step out of the hug. Looking at Cassie he smiled. "Life at the tower huh? Next thing you know we'll be scouted for a mission."

Now
Lucy ran through everyone's parts and asked if they had any questions. Finn indeed did. Though he was happy to be back a part of one of Lucy's plans. "Have any blueprints of the area? It'll be much easier for me to jump people in and out if I know the layout. I can probably get a few of us in and out if I can calculate a safe spot within my range."
