Just sayin, we have a potential Attack Titan already, along with Colossal and Armored. If anyone wants to be the Female/Crystal Titan, let me know

Name: Leon Monar
fdf588002e86ffa4181a4ad8c2297dd6.jpg

Age: 14

Gender: Male

Origin: Lived in the settlement of Dauper before becoming a soldier

Birthday: December 3rd, year 833

Affiliations: Orphan

Appearance Details: Leon wears a small golden pendant of what appears to be a woman cradling a baby. He is 6'1" and weights 150 pounds. He wears his uniform with a black sweater underneath his jacket. Leon's body has been well toned from all the work he has done on the farm. He is stronger than most 14 year old boys and boasts a very lean build.

Personality: Leon is most characterized by being a loyal and dependable person. Since he was a young boy, he has been incredibly dedicated to anything he aspires to and is incredibly diligent. Leon heavily relies on structuring around a goal and struggles without it. In tough situations, he is collected and calm and is able to make tough calls. Leon is resourceful and quick-witted on the battlefield and his agreeableness makes him an excellent team member. He is not one to assume leadership, as he has a strong draw to authority and those that hold it.

He is rather quiet, however and stays true to his introverted nature. Leon heavily struggles with his emotional side and has a hard time expressing himself. It takes a long time to gain Leon's trust but as a friend, he is committed. However, this extends into a constant fear of losing the people he loves. This can reveal an overprotective side to his character. He has a soft side for people younger than him or animals.

Short Backstory: Leon was born in Wall Rose to a mother who worked as a librarian and a father who was a retired soldier. He does remember much about his parents, as at the age of four, Leon’s parents had died during a plague epidemic. With nowhere to go, Leon went to an orphanage in Dauper and worked as a farm hand. He worked here until the age of 14 when he decided to leave life in the sticks and become a soldier.

Likes:
  • Authority
  • Animals
  • Structure

Dislikes:
  • Very emotional people
  • The night
  • Alcohol

Quirk: Leon is a frequent sleepwalker and has been known to wake up in weird places. In one scenario, he woke up a kilometer away in a restaurant ordering eggs for breakfast. When he had no money, the tavern owner had called the military to have him arrested and imprisoned where he awoke in a prison cell.

"W-Well, I never said I was a practical thinker!"

Name: Fin Odër

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Origin: Trost District, Wall Rose

Birthday: April 1st

Affiliations:
Formerly a cobbler working in his family's business.

Appearance Details: Fin stands at 5'9, sporting short brown hair and light skin, along with two big blue eyes. His build is fairly thin, though a toned body is hiding underneath his clothing. One can tell just from the way he tends to jitter around that he's overly energetic and excitable, while when he's standing still he occasionally has the most braindead expression you've ever seen in your life, as if he's trying to figure out something extremely complicated. Overall, looking at Fin can give off some irritating or awkward vibes.

Personality: Fin's an optimist; He tries to see the positives in everything, always willing to provide a pep talk to someone in need. In a grim world, he tries to offer a small shine to those around him, to give them their own little light in their lives. To some it may be obnoxious, or just flat-out annoying, but he tries to embrace those people anyways, even if being direct doesn't work. Fin suffers while trying to cover heavier topics such as death however; Not invincible in his optimism and easily distraught by loss. And while he can deflect hostility to an extent, direct harassment also gets him sensitive; Though depending on the situation at hand he may return just as hostile if he sees a problem in someone else's reasoning. He can take someone being cold, but open violence and genuine brutality against his fellow man is too much for him to swallow back. He has a strong willingness to defend those that can't defend themselves, though knows his own ability isn't outstanding. Some might call his determination to try stupid, and maybe it is. But he isn't going to give up on it unless he's forced to do so.

His disposition towards others is usually friendly, though rougher looking folks cause him to be wary despite not vocally acting any different. The way he sees it, there's no reason for people to not get along if they have a similar goal; So he won't fight with others unless necessary, or in self-defense. He's one for banter, and tends to make odd observations of situations and give his own take on it; Often coming off as strange, but he just sees things in his own way. It's not uncommon for him to ask outlandish questions that'll throw you off your guard, seemingly as a joke though if you know his tone you'd realize he's entirely genuine. His thought process is impractical, and while for the most part this just comes at the comical expense of those around him, it also has it's uses as he has a tendency to have a take on a situation that nobody else will: Though if it's helpful or not, nobody really knows.

It's probably no surprised with the above that Fin isn't hardened for battle. Despite his enthusiasm and willingness to serve, he knows that he's fighting an uphill battle to try and succeed. With no support going into his attempt to join the Survey Corps, he carries dread and fear about not being good enough and just being trashed by his peers. But he wishes to power through; He probably wouldn't ever be vocal about his insecurities unless he felt trust between him and someone else. Aware of how he covers up his insecurities with the positive parts of his personality, it's a hard pill for him to swallow and it'd take more bravery than he can usually manage to admit to how he feels.

So he'd keep on smiling. And he would succeed.

Short Backstory: Born and raised in the Trost District of Wall Rose, Fin wasn't intended for greatness. His mother was a cobbler; She worked on shoes, and she intended for her son to do the same. His father worked in the Garrison, kept his head down, and intended to protect his family and people in the way he could. Fin respected his father for his work, though anytime he ever showed a slight amount of interest he was dragged from those thoughts by his mother. He understood her concern for his safety, but couldn't stop thinking about all the danger that existed in their world. What good was a cobbler, if one day there'd possibly be nobody to make or repair shoes for? He didn't feel right on the sidelines doing such minor work while there was much more important things to be done. But in his condition, he wasn't exactly fit to be any sort of soldier. He felt incapable, and that perhaps him being on the sidelines was just because he was a weakling amongst the population.

That changed when the fall of Wall Maria. It had been such a horrific event, and proved just how unsafe people were in reality. It inspired Fin to train his body; Make himself physically adept so he could await his opportunity to join in the fight against the ever-looming threat that was the titans. He admittedly held back longer than necessary; Two years prior to current events he could have already been aiming for a place at the age of 13. But instead he hesitated due to continued bickering between his family members. But enough was enough; Every day he wasted not joining, maybe he could have been making a difference. At the age of 15, Fin Odër was finally joining the Training Corps in his attempt to find his way to combat the threat against humanity. He wasn't entirely sure how cut out he was for this, but he'd be mentally preparing himself for years to step out of the shadow of the Walls and make a change. If he could ever achieve this is a completely different story that only time will tell.

Update: I forgot to insert a quote for Sera. Also I took the time to update a few more things.

This is essentially what Sera will look like. The only difference is the clothing she will wear, Sera has Blue eyes, and the Hair is a bit longer.

"The Military Police is only for the weak. They're meant to protect people. But really they're only there to stay inside the Wall."

Name: Sera Ito

Age:
15

Gender: Female

Origin:
Trost District

Birthday:
April 11th

Affiliations:
Smuggler (Hired due to young age)

Appearance Details: There is nothing substantial for me to add

Personality:
Though she appears kind, which to be fair she is as long as she is treated with the same kindness, don't let that fool you. Sera is quite the fighter when push comes to shove. In Trost she had to be, otherwise the Military Police would have gotten hold of her.

Short Backstory:
Born inside the Trost District, Sera's family was yet another with no steady income of cash. They were out on the streets for most of the time. Then at the age of 12, Sera ran into a man who would change a once struggling family. He gave a simple task to Sera. Get a suspicious looking package to a customer a long walk away and without the Military Police catching wind, and the man would give a reward in return. That was the day that turned Sera into a smuggler, and the one that made sure her family didn't starve.

Likes:
Jogging when the sun is out, making new friends, thinking two steps ahead in order to achieve the greatest outcome

Dislikes:
Titans, the Military Police, living in the Trost District

Quirk: Not much of a quirk, Sera suffers from a severe stuttering problem. Her parents were never able to discover what caused the issue.

Other: Nothing substantial for me to add. She is Bisexual, if that is in anyway important.

Sorry, I got sidetracked yesterday, I'll send the long backstory soon

Joanna 'Jo' Schreiber

https://i.imgur.com/BJrs0Sf.png

“We've never lived, only survived. Are people only realising this now? It's never been our choice. I learned that the hard way.”
Jo

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Origin: Karanes District

Birthday: February 17th

Affiliations: Daughter of the merchant Krause Schreiber. Now affiliated with the 104th Cadet Corps.

Appearance Details: Stands at 5’7 and weighs 133lbs. Always seems to have a honking red nose. She is never without a silk yellow, polka dot bandana tied around her neck.

Personality: Jo, first off, has brains. That may seem like it shouldn’t be a big personality trait, but the fact is, she knows she’s got the intelligence. Jo certainly has no qualms showing that off, and if anything, believes that puts her in a better stead than most people. She doesn’t hate people who aren’t as quick as her, but an eyeroll or a sigh never goes amiss nor a, “Do I need to repeat that again? You understand this, right?” after explaining something, which comes off as more patronising than she intends.

Though her resting bitch face and smart superiority tells otherwise, Jo isn’t all that bad to be around. For one, she is extremely loyal, a feat noted in relation to her dedication to her family, though, brings doubts as to whether she can fully commit herself to the military and humanity’s fight against the Titans. She’s full of determination, a woman who tries and tries again until she’s exhausted all her options and reaches her goal. She’s willing to help others out - if they’ll learn from it, and it means she can get a kick out of showing off. And, you know, because it’s nice too. Yeah.

Deep down, she's ashamed. Ashamed of her father in particular, and the debt and the humiliation that came with it as a result. She seems to be so loyal to her family, and yet, she can never really bear to speak about them all that much. That doesn't mean to say she doesn't care for them or doesn't want to see them out of this situation of theirs, but many times she had thought it, and was guilty in thinking it, but she believed they were all better off dead.

Backstory: Born to Krause and Orla Schreiber, Jo lived rather comfortably for a while with her parents and younger twin brothers, Danner and Frederick. Her father traded in clothing, silks, and other such goods, and was based in the Karanes district for the most part. Well-educated (though, less proficient in her manners), she grew up content and worry-free, spending more time than enough reading, taking care of her brothers, or playing with their cook’s son, Laurie, whom she had found a trusted friend in. She truly and naively thought that nothing in their lives would change.

Jo was proven incredibly wrong when she found out that her parents took the decision to lay off Laurie’s mother and essentially send them packing. She was furious about the decision, going so far as to confront her parents about it, only to discover their finances were in a horrible shape. Loans, gambling, and terrible investments were the culprits, though, her father had been the orchestrator of such situations. Jo was 11 at the time it had happened.

And it was not long after that Laurie had moved away to Shinganshina District, that Wall Maria fell. Figuratively and physically, lives were falling apart, Jo’s especially. After not hearing contact from her childhood friend, she assumed Laurie and his mother died as a result of the fall of Wall Maria, something that had devastated and shook her.

Over the next couple of years, Jo’s family were forced to downsize. Jo had no other choice but to take on multiple odd jobs to chip away at the debt they had built, to sell many of their own possessions. She had hated every bit of it. The whispers, the sneers, the shock at seeing Jo having to take up such menial work for her family's benefit. The sins of the father, huh? Her brothers had suggested stealing at one point, to which that option was quickly and firmly shut down. As if their name needed to be dragged through any more shit. She thinks of her father's desperation, his begging to supposed old friends. She thinks often of how her mother disappeared some nights and never returned until morning.

She never spoke of it. And Jo never asked. It took so much to survive inside these Walls.

Eventually, the idea of joining the military was an idea that was thrown out there by Jo herself. Not for glory, not for humanity, but purely so she could reach the Top 10 and grab herself a spot in the Military Police force. They paid well, much better than the Garrison and the Corps by far. Perhaps it would even patch up their family reputation. It wouldn't fix it, but it was better than the menial work she had to endure. Her parents were horrified at the idea at Jo joining up. But Jo never relented though when it came to that. She badgered them, and badgered them, telling them it was one of their only viable options to clearing this debt. Her parents didn’t seem to have the belief she could make it into the Military Police. Jo thought much differently, and she would prove to them that she was capable of it.

She joined at 13, after several months of attempting to get her parents to come around to the idea. The training would be difficult. She’d be up all night, studying every technique needed to be used against Titans or even humans, the Military Police’s biggest enemy in reality. She'd endure the hardships, for she hadn't endured much worse than what she already had.

Jo would save her family. Anything to make sure they all to survived inside these walls.

"I decided to be a soldier for a reason. You think I care if I die in the process?"

Name: Benedikt Amon Baer

Nickname: Benny (Only allows his mother and childhood friend to call him this.)

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Origin: Shiganshina District

Birthday: May 20th, 834

Affiliations: Helper/assistant for a market. Currently enlisted in the 104th Training Corps.

Appearance Details: 5'9" and 177 lbs. He has pierced ears with studs in each ear. Underneath his closing he has a toned and muscular body with small scars scattered in different areas from childhood accidents. He has two birthmarks, a small one on both his left shoulder and side of left index finger. He's supposed to wear glasses but refuses to because he doesn't think it makes him look good. He also can't wear contacts because he has difficulties putting stuff in his eyes. He tries to keep it on the down low, but he has small feet for his size.

Personality: Benedikt lands in the middle of being optimistic or pessimistic. He can be optimistic in times of despair but sometimes he'll also be pessimistic in order to prepare for the worst and negative outcomes. He's an extrovert and enjoys talking and meeting new people. Definitely not afraid to speak to people he doesn't know. Benedikt wants to be seen by others as a cool, nice guy that’s chill and fun to be around. Someone who’s fun and interesting. In reality, he's still seen as cool, nice, and funny. But he's also seen as popular, goofy, stupid, and weird. It comes easy for Benedikt to make friends.

Especially with his charisma. With all the people he's seen interacting with, his peers claim he is popular. Some of the things that Benedikt says and does makes him seem like a silly fool. Such as asking stupid questions, answering obvious questions incorrectly, getting in trouble with authority, and being incredibly informal. His strongest character trait is probably his charisma. His weakest trait on the other hand, is probably his intelligence. There are times where he really doesn't use his head and he certainly pays for it. When it comes to making decisions, Benedikt usually takes time to consider.

He thinks about consequences, who's affected, how to go about it, etc. He has a philosophy, and it's that you shouldn't let anyone control your life. Benedikt strongly believes you should do what you want to do and do what you feel is right. Benny is haunted by past decisions and mistakes that he made when he was younger. Things like treating people wrongly, lying, etc. He's matured quite a bit and when he looks back, he realizes how much he hurt certain people and how he was wrong. Benedikt hates bullies and is the type of person to stand up for the weak and speak out against unfairness. Seeing someone being treated wrongly or being a witness infuriates him.

He also does not do well with unfairness. Benny treats everybody the same no matter the social or authorial status. He is often informal and lax with everyone. In a friend, he values loyalty and friendliness. He'd want a friend that's always got his back and a friend who is nice and welcoming.

Short Backstory: Benedikt was born in Shiganshina District on May 20th, 834. He was the son of Stefan James Baer and Gerda Olivia Baer. As a child, Benny was super hyper. His parents had trouble getting him to stay still and putting him to sleep. He was also quite disobedient and wanted to do what he wanted to do. Benedikt spent the majority of his free time playing with toys and going outside to play. When Benedikt was in his early teenage years, he started getting into fights often. He didn't take crap from anybody and his neighborhood had a group of bullies that always messed with him.

It was common for him to return home with bruises. When Benny learned about the history of the walls and titans, becoming a soldier became one of his top ambitions. He wanted to help in the fight for freedom. He was determined to help in the fight for freedom. Becoming a soldier was the goal he worked towards from his early teenage years, to now. He spent many days and nights, working out and training his body. At some point, Benedikt took a part-time job at a market as a helper/assistant. It was a way to get a little money flow coming in for himself, and mainly his mother.

Now that he was old enough, he wanted to have a job to help out with finances and what not. It also gave him something to do. Now, 16, he is finally enlisted into the 104th Training Corps. It's his chance to make a change.

"I'll show them what I'm made of!"

Name:
Elke Vinter

Age:
13

Gender:
Female

Origin:
Shiganshina District, Wall Maria

Birthday:
January 17th

Affiliations:
Errand Girl (before she enlisted)

Hair Color:
Honey blonde (kept at shoulder-length)

Eye Color:
Hazel

Height:
5'4

Weight:
112 lbs

Complexion:
Fair

Body Composition:
Thin

Personality:
Elke is very timid, sometimes overly so. She has trouble putting her foot down and being brave enough to stand up against superiors or bullies. Because of this, she is very easy to manipulate. She's known to believe everything she hears, especially if told by someone she trusts or someone of authority. Once she starts believing something, however, she's very difficult to sway. As one can probably tell, she places nearly all of her trust onto friends, family, and authoritative figures, and she will believe their word until the end. Despite this, Elke is very loyal and selfless; she will gladly lay her life on the line if she has to protect or help someone from danger. She also has a very strong relationship with her sister, Anke-- in fact, she's practically her shadow, since the two are almost never seen without one another. Some say that this form of relationship is an unhealthy one, since Elke depends mostly on her sibling to protect her from incoming hostility from others.

Short Backstory:
Born in Shiganshina, Elke was delivered alongside a twin sister, Anke. From the beginning, they were inseparable; they did everything they could together, from chasing stray dogs to brushing each other's hair. Unfortunately for the two young sisters, their mother died when they were very young, and their father was hardly a good parent; while he didn't necessarily beat them, he definitely wasn't supportive. He only occasionally left them enough money for them to buy food, so Anke was in charge of taking care of her sister, Elke. For the longest time, the two scrounged together enough money to keep them fed and healthy, with Anke picking up some odd jobs here and there and Elke working as a errand girl.

After their father died from the grievous illness that plagued Shiganshina, the sisters were forced to move in with their aunt and her husband. Elke wasn't keen on staying with them, and greatly missed her father despite him not being the greatest dad. Her relationship with Anke only grew stronger since then, and the two became even more inseparable than before with Elke acting very much like Anke's shadow. When Anke went to enlist, you can bet that Elke was right behind her.

"I promise-- I'll make sure everyone gets back home."
Name:
Vivian Schweiss

Age:
14

Gender:
Female

Origin:
Born in an unnamed farming village inside Wall Rose

Birthday:
June 10th

Affiliations:
Farmer

Hair Color:
Platinum blonde

Eye Color:
Greenish-blue

Height:
5'10"

Weight:
160 lbs

Complexion:
Fair

Body Composition:
Stocky, somewhat curvy; Viviana has the type of arms that can be used to wrangle hogs or carry logs

Personality:
Aloof and distant, Vivian shows little to no emotion. She's stoic in the face of danger or joviality, and it is very rare for one to catch her smiling. She prefers to keep to herself, if not with a small group of individuals. One of her downsides is that she's very blunt towards others; she's known to have hurt more than one individual with her words. It's not like she can help it-- she rather say things for what they are rather than what they're not. As for her rather dry personality, she believes that her current situation requires that someone maintain a level-head around the recruits, and instead of relying on someone else to fulfill that requirement, she took it upon herself to be the reliable one. She swears that she'll keep everyone safe, no matter what the cost.

Deep inside that rough exterior, however, is a kind-hearted person who only wants the best for those she cares about. Vivian will gladly lay her life on the line if that means that her loved ones will continue to live.

Short Backstory:
Vivian was born inside a very small barn. She never knew her father, and her mother was disdainful over her presence. Vivian's only parent told her that she was a disgrace to be around, and often sent her deep into the farmland to work the fields and care for the beasts of their land. Her mother only interacted with her when it was time to feed her or to tell her what to do, and so Vivian had to rely on her neighbors at a young age. Luckily for her, such neighbors had a couple of children her age that were more than willing to help her out with her chores, and that was when she finally began to grasp the concept of friendship.

Vivian's childhood years were spent tilling the land and getting down and dirty with the farm animals, but they were also filled with years and years of comfort and familiarity that radiated from surrounding friends. When she was old enough, she decided to leave home and enlist in training. She believes that after all of those years of love and support, she has to repay her hometown somehow.

"I've gotta be the best. I can't lose her!"

Name:
Anke Vinter

Age:
13

Gender:
Female

Origin:
Shiganshina District, Wall Maria

Birthday:
January 17th

Affiliations:
Took various odd jobs. The only real affiliation is with Elke. Now with the 104th Training Regiment.

Hair Color:
Honey Blonde

Eye Color:
Hazel

Height:
5'4"

Weight:
121 lbs.

Complexion:
Fair

Body Composition:
Toned

Personality:
Anke is a very loud individual. Not in the sense of hurting your eardrums, she can do that, but she has a habit of making her presence known wherever she goes. She is bold, courageous, and boisterous. After the events at Shiganshina, she made a promise to herself to always take action. To push forward and do her best. Due to her upbringing, she grew to have a mistrust of people other than Elke. She can't remember how many times she got cheated out of proper pay for her work. It made her angry that just because she was a kid that adults could treat her what felt like a lesser being just because of age. Others her age weren't much better. They could be so cruel. She got in so much trouble chasing down the bullies and getting into fights. She would never admit what the fights were over but she knows Elke is smarter than that. She will listen to authority figures and help people if they ask but the only person she actively seeks to help is Elke. She is currently the only person that Anke cares about. She has been taking care of her so long that she has started to look at her as more of a younger sister that it's her duty to protect rather than as her twin. Her equal and best friend in this world. They have a good relationship but it would likely be healthy for them to be separated at least a little. For one to become more independent, and the other to realize her sister is more capable than she thinks.

Short Backstory:
Along with her twin sister, Elke, Anke was born in Shiganshina. For as long as they could remember they would do everything together. They were a package deal, you got one and the other would be right there. Unfortunately for the twins, their mother died before they could get the chance to really know her. That left them in the care of just their father. He wasn't a good parent. He didn't beat them or verbally berate them but he was barely a presence in their life. Merely leaving them with enough money to eat for a bit from time to time. It was never enough so Anke, being the bolder of the two, took it upon herself to take care of Elke. In all likelihood, this is part of why Anke dislikes people so much. So, many of them only care for themselves so Anke began to only care about Elke and herself.

Eventually, their current day/night cycle ended when their father died of an awful plague that ran through Shiganshina. The girls were at least lucky enough to have an aunt and uncle who wanted to take them in. At first, Anke was wary of the two but they seemed kind enough. She kept telling herself she didn't care about them but the fact that their aunt looked similar to their mother drew her in a little. Anke did notice that Elke wasn't exactly happy about the change but for once in her life, she didn't have any ideas on how to help. Elke started attaching herself more and more to Anke and they became much closer than before. They had two adults to support them meaning they didn't have to work as much as before meaning that as they grew they could spend even more time together.

By the time they became 13, Anke knew the safest place to go was further into the walls. The best way she saw to do that was to become one of the MP. So, she told Elke that she was going to enlist. She hoped that through this she'd be able to keep her sister safe but she didn't expect Elke to want to enlist as well. Not sure of how she can keep Elke safe when she is a soldier too, Anke yet again stumbles in figuring out what to do.

Dislikes:
  • People(she can warm up to them)

Quirk:
Makes promises way too often. Snores really loudly and is very mobile when asleep. Tries to act as the big sister of anyone she grows to care about even if they are older than her or the same exact age. If she ever gets to the point where she no longer wants to fulfill a promise she'll try to find a backdoor to get out of it rather than actively breaking it herself.

"Someone asked me why would I join the Military, well... It's because I have nothing left to lose. My mom is dead, my dad is dead, my grandparents were eaten in front of me but hey, no one is gonna miss me if I die fighting titans. At least I'll go out with a bang!"

Nickname: Laurie

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Origin: Born in Karanes District

Birthday: February 26th

Affiliations: Labor Worker

Appearance Details: Laurie stands with a height of six-feet flat and weighs around a hundred and sixty-six pounds. He has a rather athletic body that is hidden beneath the loose shirts that he likes to wear.

Personality: From others' point of view, Laurie often depicts himself as a happy and laid-back individual who cracks terrible jokes or tries to at the very least even in the most inappropriate of times. He goes about life with a smile and a laugh, something he adopted from his mother which also screwed his ability to emphatically connect with others on a deeper level. They would often think that he doesn't take things seriously because of the smile on his face or the laughter that escapes from his lips and thinking that it's all a joke to him.

He's brutally honest about his opinions and isn't shy in showing how dark his thoughts can be. He's direct and quite reckless which often gets him into trouble. He's also hardly bothered by almost anything as any insult thrown towards him would just go straight out his other ear. He'd rather avoid any sort of punishment if possible because why make his life harder than it already is.

Since the death of his mother, Laurie has been more outwardly happier to mask the empty feeling that has settled in his heart. He joined the Military embracing the fact that he could die at any moment once he is accepted to join the Survey Corps and that is fine with him. He isn't actively seeking his death by any means, but he wouldn't fight back if a titan were to look at him with joy upon finding something to chew. He doesn't think that anyone would miss him since he thinks that all of his family is dead. He doesn't see his worth because he was born from a humble family and was taught to live in modesty. He's harsh on himself though he would never let it show, often berating himself when he realized he said or done something wrong.

Backstory: Laurie lived a good life regardless of how poor they were. H never knew his dad. Leticia Arnault, his mother never told him anything about his old man other than that he was already dead before he was born and he grew up learning not to question his mother about him as it brought her great distress.

The young Arnault doesn't know much of his mother's past, just that she grew up in Shiganshina and moved to find work. As a child, he grew up in Karanes District, where he was also born, and his mother became a cook for the Schreiber family. There he met the young Joanna who became his friend and is the reason why he has grown to love reading. He always comes to the Schreiber's with a cheer and excitement to bother his younger friend often to play and sometimes to merely listen to Jo's ramblings. His mother would often tease him about little Jo, enjoying his questioning and flustered answers. It came as a shock to him when his mother was laid off the job so suddenly and for no apparent reason, well not that he knew of. This had led the two to come live with Leticia's parents in Shiganshina.

They were too happy to be angry at their daughter for not contacting them for years. They spoiled him in every possible way that they could while even when he helped out in their little tavern. Unfortunately, life with his grandparents was short-lived as their District was invaded by titans, and Wall Maria was destroyed soon after. It was there that he saw hell. He and his mother escaped but Lucas and Vanya were caught by an Aberrant. Laurie saw them get eaten, in his dreams he could still hear their screams and the crunch of their bones. It was a nightmare every night after those events.

Finding refuge in Wall Rose, Leticia worked herself to the bone to provide for her and her son. Something Laurie helped in by doing jobs that any young teen like him could do, it doesn't pay much but it brings an extra slice of bread to the table. Then his mother had caught ill, it was then that his life flipped. He was the breadwinner now doing manual labor to provide for his sick mother. He was the one that took care of her until she passed away.

With nowhere left to go, he walked aimlessly down the street every day to his work when he saw the winged uniform of the Survey Corps. He enlisted himself to the Military, wanting to feel something, wanting to find a reason, wanting satisfaction for himself, or at the very least be useful to humanity by getting rid of Titans, if he isn't eaten by then.

Likes: Baked goods, cooking, reading books whether it is about myth and folklore or education, watching the stars.

Dislikes: Unorganized anything, dishes with fish, hearing people self-deprecating themselves.

Quirk: Can give an accurate or almost accurate guess of someone's measurements, has to do or recheck everything twice, organize anything that he finds messy, and rises around four forty-five even when he slept just an hour before.

Other: He always wears his late mother's gold pendant and hides it behind his shirt, Laurie's Theme & Battle Theme

"You call it a problem? I call it a solution!"

Name: Nina Polgar

Age: 14

Gender: Female

Origin: Countryside of Wall Maria

Birthday: 20th February

Affiliations: Prior to becoming a cadet, she came from a family of millers and would often help them run the mill alongside doing her household chores.

Appearance Details: Nina often wears her hair back in two small braids to keep it out of her face when working or training. She has a petite build with lean muscles, standing at 5’2” and weighing 119 lbs. In the summer she gains a splattering of freckles on her cheeks.

Personality: Nina has always been a hard-working girl, striving to do her utmost best at anything she attempts even if she knows she may fail initially. This determined nature of hers leads her to often try support her comrades and friends as she wants to help them be the best they can be, whether that’s by helping them train or pointing out their weaker areas which she noticed. Whilst being generally soft spoken and sweet, she isn’t afraid to become sharp-tongued and dip into a colder disposition. Sometimes this slips out when giving criticism which she apologises for after realising.

She is polite and kind to strangers and acquaintances. As a child she was always told to treat people with respect, which she follows until that respect is lost. However, when she gets to know people better she is more talkative, expressive and excitable. It’s not a rare sight to see a small smile worn on her face as she is easily pleased simply by being in the presence of those she likes. However, around those she dislikes, Nina remains civil but distant. She tries to be on good terms with everyone regardless of her personal feelings.

A strength of hers is that she remains calm under pressure and keeps a level head during most situations, easily adapting to new threats. The negative of this is that she often has to ignore her emotions to be more analytical of the environment and those around her. Forming the best plan of action is the most important thing when concerning everyone’s survival in a tricky situation. This can come across to others as unsympathetic and callous if comrades have been lost, but all Nina wants is to ensure no more are. She isn’t afraid to voice her ideas or plans to groups, actively engaging in teamwork and discussion.

Calling Nina a country bumpkin wouldn't be entirely wrong. Due to her isolated childhood, it doesn't take a lot to impress Nina. She is easily astonished by the more impressive structures in cities and the districts. Another thing Nina finds impressive is finding out there are more types of tea for her to try and desserts to go along with them. Hearing about soldiers from her parents was nothing like actually seeing them. All the different regiments were myths to her, actually getting to witness people on duty was fascinating even if it wasn't particularly interesting when it was just someone slacking off. Gushing about these little things would make Nina happy but very embarrassed if she was mocked or told to quieten down. Experiencing new things is something that excites Nina. She is a bright girl despite what people may assume and loves broadening her knowledge beyond what she manages to read in books or hear from others. Becoming a soldier was something that she feared initially as the idea of death terrifies her, but the call for a life of purpose beckoned her.

Short Backstory: Living on isolated land with few folk nearby, Nina had a peaceful, albeit lonely, upbringing. Her family were relatively self sufficient, relying on themselves and travelling to other remote settlements nearby to trade. They made a living off what they reaped and sowed, grinding wheat and grain to make flour, sending it off with her father to sell in the nearby towns and buying any supplies they needed before leaving.

As an only child, she had little company spare for her parents and the old horse they owned. Sometimes she got to see the occasional distant neighbour when their mill was visited or she was taken along on a little trek. Her days consisted of helping with work, looking after the horse, and cleaning.

Nina often dreamt of the rest of the world within the walls, wondering if she'd ever get to see it. One day, she told herself she'd join the military and decide where to go from there. Then her times of daydreaming idly were cut short. Fleeing, mourning, and being thrown into an unfamiliar life was jarring enough to put her off joining the military for a short while until she eventually caved.

Affiliations:
Noble

Appearance Details:

Hair color:
Blonde

Eye Color:
Light-Blue

Height:
5,10

Weight:
156 Lbs

Complexion:
Pale

Body Composition:
Thin but lean. Has the body of a noble, less for work and more for show.

Personality:
Alastair can easily be seen as your average run-of-the-mill high-born noble. He's selfish, cocky, self-centered, and abrasive. At least on the surface, he acts as such believing that he is greater than the low-born commoners and as such more important than them. Yes to put it bluntly he's a spoiled asshole, he doesn't shy away from insulting, antagonizing, and bluntly pointing out others' flaws (Which usually is directed at their social status). As well as boasting about everything he does well or is good at. But when faced with failure Alastair flies into a rage.

Though beneath that rough exterior there lies a troubled boy, due to his past Alastair has developed a superiority complex meaning that all of those feelings of superiority and selfishness are just ways of covering up his feeling of inferiority and the scars of past failures. But these feelings of inferiority rarely surface.

But one thing that leaks out from the true Alastair is a strong sense of justice, he dislikes unfairness and the mistreating of others. Even though he often insults commoners Alastair hates to see them be tricked and abused by those higher up, though due to events in his past he's unable to do anything about it until he grows as a person.

Short Backstory:
Born into a noble family within the tall walls of Wall Sina in the Ehrmich District has lived a comfortable life compared to others. Being heir and the only son Alastair was sheltered for most of his childhood, rarely leaving the family estate and being taught by private tutors.

The news of Wall Maria came quickly to Ehrmich and with increased recruiting campaigns in the city, Alastair's parents decided he should join the military and become a member of the MP to help bolster his family recognition and status. Alastair agreed, knowing not to go against his parent's wishes.

The noble pawn
Basic Information
Full Name
Elyse Mina Hildebrand
Nicknames
Lise, Eli
Affiliation
The Hildebrand Bloodline
Gender
Female
Age
Fifteen (15)
Date of Birth
July 25th
Origin
Mitras, Wall Sina
Appearance
Hair Color
Light Blonde
Eye Color
Green-Blue
Height
5'1" (154cm)

Elyse is a seemingly perfect doll and prototype for the Hildebrand family. Inheriting her mother’s wavy brown locks and her father’s chestnut brown eyes. It is only through her unexpectedly short stature that she exudes some opposition to her otherwise monotonous kin.

Spending some time with Elyse will make it all too evident that she isn’t fully fond of her roots, but their effect is undeniable. From the properly maintained posture to carefully tailored expressions and a graceful manner of walking, there are more than enough signs to notice that she isn’t your average Wall Maria/Rose recruit.
Personality
Smile brightly, speak softly, and tread carefully. That’s the triad of what it means to be a Lady of true Hildebrand standing. From a distance, Elyse may seem like the perfect exemplar of Royalty, but things start to gradually crack once you get a bit closer.

A fiery, passionate soul who’s willing to take to the extremes in order to fuel her curiosity, Elyse Hildebrand is far from your prototypical Lady to be. Though the family’s mark has certainly been overtly stamped on her being, her rebellious and youthful essence continues to dominate whenever watchful eyes avert their gaze.

The Lioness’s true colours are many shades of red, symbolizing the confidence, stubbornness, sassiness, and honesty she carries within. When not shackled by expectation, Elyse can be a surprisingly relaxed, down-to-earth and even humorous conversationalist, though her correspondence skills are still notably lacking. There are times where Elyse fails to properly assess a situation, causing her to come off as blunt, insensitive, or even degrading.

According to her family, All Hildebrands are born with a knack for leadership and charisma, but it seems that Elyse was either skipped in this promise or has yet to uncover this supposed greatness. There is no gene in Elyse’s body that is willing to be extraverted, leaving her subpar acting skills to pretend otherwise when the spotlight is on.

Likely the greatest crux of her being thanks itself to similar faulty promises as those above. With essentialist mindsets deeply ingrained into the family, Elyse was told from a young age that Royals and Nobles are inherently superior and therefore worthy of being at the top of the hierarchy. This, combined with the sheltered life she has lived, has left Elyse naive, inexperienced, and biased in many ways.

Fortunately, there is one thing that gives this Hildebrand a chance for a better being: intellect. Though lacking in the practicality and resourcefulness departments, Elyse is actually a pretty fast learner with a knack for quick-thinking and decisiveness. She's far from being a genius or artist of any sorts, but her mind is potent and daunting enough to adopt another perspective, even if it takes a while to get to it.

All in all, Elyse is far from the Lionness she's portrayed to be. In reality, she's just a cub who's still learning to walk, masked behind a facade of an already grand, promising lioness. Furthermore, she may seem like someone who has everything in control, but her mind continues to be a silent battleground of inner conflict. On the one hand, her love for family and a stable, luxurious quality of life ties her to her 'supposed destiny'. On the other, the wish to live a story written by her own hand grows ever so temptatious, even if it demands sacrifice. Only time will tell which side will inevitably win.
Backstory
Everything happens for a reason.

Fate is, in many ways, a simple and seemingly harmless principle. Many people like to believe that there is more to life than ‘chance’ and ‘luck’, interpreting things in a way where it all seems to fit together perfectly.

Welcome yourself to this test of fate: the Hildebrand essentialist mindset, where one’s worth and role in life is determined not by action or circumstance, but by blood and status. It is this very mindset that fuels the family’s confidence and clarity, for their veins run with the gold of royalty.

3rd cousins to the throne. It’s a comparatively modest connection, but those few droplets of ‘true purity’ would grant the family a sea of contacts, wealth, and power. Trusted for their fierce loyalty to the kingdom’s monarch, the Hildebrand family was given a place in the heart of Wall Sina: Mitras, where they lived a life many could only dream of.

Elyse Mina Hildebrand was born on a fateful summer evening, entering life as the third and last child of Lord Friedrich Hildebrand and his wife, Lady Mia Hildebrand. Joining a line-up of two promising, talented siblings, Elyse had a lot of expectations weighing on her shoulders before she could even speak.

But first would come the calm before the storm. As a true child of privilege, Elyse enjoyed a safe, luxurious upbringing with little worry or threat. Though a timid child at first, she grew steadily more sociable by interacting with the neighbourhood kids, playing on the street without even the slightest clue of the less fortunate circumstances around the nation.

Development would be soon to set in, however, and with it came a wishlist of things that Elyse was ought to be. Gone were the days of hiding & seek and catch, for they had to make way for pretend play and theatre.

Despite her greatest efforts, dark clouds seemed to start following the young Hildebrand, raining down on her with disappointment and worry. To be a Hildebrand meant to be a lion whose roar could tame the masses, and whose mere presence was domineering and respectable. Her older siblings managed to achieve this symbolic might, but Elyse seemed to not be that lucky.

What does one do when your voice isn’t gracious or inspiring, but blunt and awkward? How does one change the inner spark from individuality and a wish for freedom to collectivism and living life for ‘the greater good’? These are the two questions that burned their way into Elyse’s mind every day, and she never really found the answer. It seemed like she had little choice but to play along, to accept that life wasn’t hers to mould.

But she just isn’t that type of person.

At the age of 10, it was decided that Elyse would be joining the Military Police Brigade to continue a family tradition that tied them to this ‘noble’ force. In the bigger picture, this was merely one of the many attempts the Hildebrands made to stay relevant in the Monarchy, reaching out for every inch of power they could use. In the smaller picture, this meant that Elyse’s prospect had officially been determined.

The years following this mandate were hectic and sometimes surreal. In no way did the growing lioness understand how she, in all her lacking glory, was expected to successfully complete the training, let alone make it into the top 10 of the cadets. Her parents, however, seemed adamant that there was no need to worry. Elyse thoroughly wondered whether this was due to their faith in her, or because they knew something about the system that she didn’t.

Given no other choice but to follow along, the young Hildebrand was subjected to rigorous education and even some private practical training with a personal coach. She was obliged to partake in many different sports, from fencing and martial arts to running and acrobatics, but none of them suited her skill. Elyse lacked the fundamental essence of success: passion, and that left its marks.

Though the years of training have made her considerably better than she was before, she is far away from the level she could've and should've achieved. In reality, Elyse is still just an average, uninspired combatant, set afoot with an unfair advantage of time and experience.

But that didn’t stop her parents from sending her to the cadet's age 15, surrounded by boisterous, grand tales that spoke of her nonexistent proficiency and innate skill. To make matters worse, Elyse was accompanied by a makeshift ‘bodyguard’, said to be sent in fear of the ‘hostile climate’ that could arise from her new peers. From her point of view, said guardian is no more than a pair of peeping eyes, sent to keep her in chains even now that she has escaped the lion’s cage. The situation may be dire, but Elyse hasn’t given up just yet.

Plagued with the inner conflict of family against freedom, Elyse is on her way to a forbidden fruit that she has never gotten to taste before: choice. It is admittedly limited, but the army has more than one path to wander, and her feet, contrary to belief, are yet to be placed.

Who knows where fate will bring her, right? Everything happens for a reason, after all.

Preferences & Habits
LIKES: new experiences/novelties, the outdoors, daydreaming, freedom, moving at her own pace, talented people, winter, snow, comfort/relaxation, music, blending in, coffee, savory foods, competition.
DISLIKES: most animals, waiting, regulations, obligations & family expectations, authority, mystery/surprises, very tall people, night time/the dark, the military police, a certain specific 'bodyguard'.
QUIRKS. Habitually jittery when impatient, stressed or distracted. Bites her nails. Somewhat snobbish accent.
Extra
01.
Despite their noble status, the Hildebrands actually aren't that known outside of Mitras and are only minorly involved in the Royal Government. Most of their power comes from their hand in funding the Military Politice, as well as supporting the weapon manufacturing industry. The name Hildebrand may, as a result, be found plastered upon factories in Wall Maria and Industrial City territory.
02.
The 'bodyguard' in question is Ramiel by lion. lion.

Halvor Verdende

Hal

Shiganshina District, Wall Maria

September 4th, 833
Occupation(s):
Dockhand (845—845)
Farmhand (845—847)

Affiliation(s):
104th Training Corps Southern Division (847—)

Height:
5'8

Hair Color:
Black

Eye Color:
Blue

Body Composition:
Lean

Personality:
Before the Fall of Wall Maria, Halvor was extremely timid and somewhat difficult to connect with, due in part to his background. One could have easily compared his likeness to that of an abused animal, but they could also spot the hallmarks of a good friend through the cracks when they began to form from his shell. Through the two years after the catastrophic event, he transformed into an entirely different person; though his general pessimism remained, he became driven and motivated to free humanity from the shackles that Titans now held over their people. He is approachable, but his louder tone is often rough and spoken with a chip on the shoulder. Among true comrades and friends, the boy is far nicer and pleasant to be around, typically being the only time where one would see him break a smile.
Halvor is observant and quick to pick up on the details of things; he's actually more intuitive than others might suggest, and isn't much of a meathead. Though he aspires to become more capable and stronger each day, his natural aptitude for perception and fighting sometimes puts him in over his head, as he only respects those with some sort of strength. He is openly competitive and won't hesitate to assert himself above others about his own strengths; to this end, he clings on to the extreme belief that only the strong will survive, while the weak are culled and mettled out. This can put him at odds with people who either disagree, or those who he feels are wasting their natural talents for their own benefit. He is known to have a bit of a temper, and is quite loud when he gets angry.

Short Backstory:
Through the few memorable recollections of his childhood, Halvor Verdende drifted from home to home very often; his father, a single parent, was a candlemaker that struggled to make a living after the abrupt departure of his mother. They had collectively framed their misfortune on his birth, and through the abuse inflicted by the former, those years became an echo of a past that the boy suppressed. For him, life started at the age of eleven, and though his father was far from the ideal patriarch figure, the boy supposed that it was a sense of obligation that drove the latter not to abandon him like his mother had done. His father was able to secure a house within Shiganshina District after a long period of hardship, and it was within those walls that he could finally call someplace home for the first time in his adolescence.
Halvor spent as much time away from his father as he possibly could, becoming a dockhand and finding solace in the district's quartermaster, who provided the malnourished boy enough means to feed himself properly. He also tried his best to mingle with the other children that frolicked the streets of Shiganshina with mixed results; those who did reciprocate would find a true friend in him, while his differences conflicted with the rest. He didn't take kindly to others being treated poorly, his scuffles with those neerdowells often adding to the contusions inflicted by his father. Despite this, life seemed to be painting a better picture for him; he was beginning to adjust to a mostly ordinary life that every child deserved, and he had a handful of good people who helped him realize freedom from what he felt was a shackled existence.
And then, came the Colossal and Armored Titans on a certain afternoon, to take away that little trace of optimism. Halvor was dealt a harsh lesson, in that people weren't the only ones capable of cruelty in their cutthroat world. On this day, he witnessed the deaths of countless people, including friends both old and his ages, at the indiscriminate hands of the Titans. He'd become so wracked with inner turmoil, paralyzed in the face of death as the worthlessness of preserving life dawned on the twelve-year-old. The boy was ready to face death after a meaningless life full of grief until his father embraced his son for the first time, and pleaded with Halvor to live on for the sake of achieving freedom in a better life for himself and for all of humanity. This momentary display was soon interrupted by the approach of an invading Titan, prompting his father to sacrifice himself for the sake of his son's survival.
Halvor took his father's final words and action to heart, now spurred to act as he escaped Shiganshina after tearfully witnessing the latter's death. Now among the tens of thousands of orphans stuck to working the farmlands within Wall Rose, he vowed to enlist in the Military when he and his few friends who had survived the breach came of age, doing so two years later at the age of fourteen.
