In a land that was almost destroyed by a rogue AI decades ago, any advanced AI have been forbidden. So many in the land have magic-mechanical enhancements to make up for the lack of advanced AI. A popular delivery service in the land is by runner, which can bypass traffic and can safely deliver physical items. They might be a little more expensive but if something needs to be delivered on time, a runner is perfect for the job. They have even become so popular that there are regular runner races and an annual runner championship.
Runners are pretty much always enhanced as the speed, endurance and strain would be impossible to handle by an organic body. There are however laws regarding the mechanical bodies, such as that the body needs a soul ( via a soul crystal) or a brain to which the brain still needs to be intact enough to fulfill important functions. Anything less could count as advanced AI and would be illegal and therefore must be destroyed.
Runners due to their enhancements can usually run up to ten times faster than normal humans or elves and may even have boosters in their feet to help them overcome obstacles. Usually in the races, they can use boosters but not to fly. Runners also rely on magic and martial arts for self defense as hidden weapons are illegal for runners.
Enhanced bodies and magic-mechanical bodies however have some weaknesses. They are magic sensitive and can malfunction or overload if given to much mana or are in high mana areas (such as mana crystal fields). So many of more advanced ones have mana release mechanisms to release excess mana. Malfunctions are scary experiences whereas overloads can often be fatal, even if the victim has a soul crystal.

Soul crystals: Soul crystals are octahedron (double pyramid) shaped crystals that possess souls. Usually they are used to prevent the death of a consciousness. Soul crystals possess color based on the nature of the soul. Red being belligerent/evil and blue being benevolent/good. White or transparent soul crystals are empty. Yellow means impartial. Purple means neutral while pink may mean mischievous.
Sapient species: Humans and elves. Maybe even dwarves. (If dwarves, then they will be uncommon.)
World: Due to the almost apocalypse decades ago, only a quarter of the former population remains. Therefore many towns are small towns or villages. The largest town is the capital and has a population of 50,000.
Lingo/Slang: There are some words describing the enhanced based on appearance. Clankers for more mechanical, robotic appearances. Chromers for shiny bodies. Dolls for enhanced whose bodies possess a matte surface, yet look more humanoid and being kind of uncanny.
TLDR: Sort of a cottagecore, fantasy cyberpunk rp.
