Today was the day, the 15th if April, a hot day, the sun staring down at 88`F, with not too many clouds in sight. People were bustling down the streets on this early morning, trying to get to work. Today many possible students were filing into through the gates of the top hero school in the Osaka region of Japan, Angelwood Academy, right in the heart of Osaka. So many possible heroes of tomorrow and this was their chance to get the best possible path to that goal. Today was the day for their entrance exam!

A white-haired man sat with two others at the front of a really really large auditorium, a white-haired boy sitting next to him. He watched the students file into the room, taking seats. The brown-haired man next to him was sipping on a smoothie as he sat there, typing away on his phone. Kenta was the teacher for one of the first year hero classes and would, of course, be helping out with the practical exam today. The white-haired man, on the other hand, was Fumio Shimuzu, the principal, who was currently waiting for everyone arrived so that he could explain everything to them as usual, with his son joining him today. after all, this was an experience that his son, especially if he were to take over the school in the future.

The large school sat, doors open, applicants for all courses. All brimming with hope and excitement for what might come.
One boy who walked up had on a purple shirt, and waxy hair, a small flame on his head. He looked up at the building. Today he would be taking the exam for the support course. He glances at his phone, looking at the texts from his brother. He already had an idea of what the practical exam would be, and was eager to get through the written portion as to really show his stuff.

A teal haired boy, Aoi was dragged up to the school. He had been looking forward to this day, because he wanted to become a hero very badly, and was looking forward to it. But this is not what he had been expecting. On the way here he encountered a teen who seemed to have a dog- no, definitely a hyena quirk. He had been ambushed him, and now officially had an arm around his neck, and was being dragged along, listening to laughter. "Heheheheheh Hey midget so what, are you seriously be trying to be a hero?!" he laughs, "Ye-es..." Aoi seems to stutter, before he gets interrupted, "Hahahahahaha!!! That's a riot! You're a string bean!!" he laughs. "You're seriously trying to become a hero with arms like those? Ha!" The Hyena boy continued to laugh as he dragged along the poor nervous little guy.

A ginger-haired girl with a side pigtail had headphones in her ears, in a tracksuit was bouncing along as she held an iPod in her hand as some music blasted out. She was half dancing as she hummed along with the tune. Though she was not paying attention to her surroundings in the slightest. Maiko was only focused on her music and the school doors that she headed towards as to get to her test. She was excited about the exam because she intended to become a hero, and this was the first step towards this goal.

Akira and Sora Saito

A fancy car drove up in front of the school, stopping in front of the gates. The driver got out, walking around the car to open the door for a pair of applicants who got out. They both were wearing fancy clothes. They had minty hair and long blindfolds on. "Just follow the stream of students and you should be fine." The man tells them, and the female smiles, "Got it!" she chirps. The two then begin to walk forward towards where the man had told them. Of course, oblivious to what was going on around them and in front of them due to being blind, via the blindfold. "Aren't you excited Sora?" the female, Akira asks happily, arm interlocked with his. the male nods, "Yes. Very." he says, "I think we will do well." Sora tells her.

A brown haired male was listening to his headphones as he approached the school, hands in the pocket of his vest. He was looking forward to this, but he wasn't sure what he would be able to do. He was applying for the hero course, but, he was only good with technology. Fighting wasn't really his thing. He really hoped they had some technology options. He was not looking forward t the practical test....

A slightly l]nervous boy approached the school He was smiling, as he looked at it. He had been waiting to go to this school for a long time, he couldn't believe he was finally here! He nervously held onto the mailbag strap over his front. He hoped he didn't have to use his quirk. He really really hoped. He just did not want to use it. On another note, He hoped to maybe make a friend? he knew it was technically all business and competition here, but you know, meeting someone would be nice, although then he would be sad if he or they didn't make it in.

Tsuru Goshiken
Mentioning: Kimona Kimona 's Maiko
Location: AA Auditorium

While many a student would be bothered by the hot weather, Tsuru Goshiken was definitely not one of them. The young applicant was springy and shiny in his red sleeveless shirt and black shorts, already skipping from one foot to the other and breathing rhythmically. Tsuru’s dad had talked with him earlier on the test day that same morning, and his message had been painfully clear:
"Tsuru, my son, I love you and I believe in your potential, but we have to be realistic here. Your written test is probably not going to be on par with the average accepted student, so you have to give it your absolute best in the practical to test. Understood? Then stay focused and don’t overdo yourself!”
He wanted to step by at his mom’s house to get some words of encouragement, but she was busy working all week, so he had to settle with dad’s. He took a long glance at the principal, wondering what kind of person he had to be to run a school like AA, and finally took a seat. As soon as he did so, he noticed a redhead wearing a track suit next to him.
Tsuru noticed the headphones but he was too excited to not talk with someone. Instead of simply calling for her, he leaned over to barge into her line of sight and greeted her with a wave and a big dumb smile, trying his best not to scare her off with his... Spontenous approach.

Frieda Fitzjerald
Location: Auditorium, AA
Interacting: N/A

Frieda takes several slow breaths as she slowly approaches the school once more, clutching a backpack as she is jostled around within the busy street threatening to drown her amidst their far taller stature and limiting her view beyond a few feet. Clad within a loose white t-shirt, shorts and pumps with several drips of colour around the collar of the shirt from the beads of multi-coloured sweat across her brow, underneath however she seems to be wearing a dark wetsuit like garment complete with gloves. After the previous disaster on submission day, this was hopefully a good solution, it had cost her what yen she had managed to save plus selling a few of her older games but if it stopped a mess it would be worth it.

The heat, however, was not helping, continuing to sweat heavily from both it and ball of nerves in her stomach threatening to bring her to a panic attack at the thoughts of the upcoming events, several areas of the suit bulging outwards from ink build up. She had to make it there soon otherwise this suit was going to burst, she had already emptied it 3 times already but it really was just getting worse, at least she was getting close to the school now, eventually slipping through the gate and catching her breath slowly as she emptied the contents of the suit into the drain and pulled out a water bottle from the bag to rehydrate once more.

Ok this was it, she was here and despite the shaking legs she was going to do this.......or set the entire place on fire and end up splatted on the wall....no, no no, she could do this!...maybe?. Her mind goes back to her parent's words, encouraging but even they were worried sick, did they even think she could do this?. Gripping the straps of her bag tighter she remains there for several more minutes before with one more deep breath she heads through the doors of the school with her head down, shaking all over but walking forward never the less.

Galatea Cyprus
Location: Auditorium, AA

Galatea slowly mumbles to herself as she checks over the contents of her case once more, it was unknown what the nature of the test would be so it was important to be prepared and everything needed to be in its place. Unpacking and repacking for the umpteenth time, everything packed tightly together like a weird form of Tetris she takes count....hammer check, rope check, fire extinguisher check, plush check, snacks check, gym clothes check, Hephaestus check. With one final nod, she departs from her room to the beaming face of her father at the kitchen table.

The giant of a man moves over to hug her tightly without many reactions from Galatea "Zehahaha, My little hammers all ready for her big day! Have a fun and Knock em dead!" the girl just looking up blankly and replying in a monotone "I do not believe that would be the hero approach and the faculty will want only non-lethal options, not counting deceased are unable to give acceptance to the school" This only results in another round of laughter from her father before the finally leave their home and begin their journey down from the higher hills of the city's more forested area and the long walk towards the school. The towering girl was clad in a similar state to a week prior, dull-coloured slacks and shirts with heavy boots across her feet and large black case along her back, her steady pace showing no sign of sweating within the heat of the day.

After an hour she would find herself in front of the school's gates noting the damage had been repaired she takes her time to look more closely at several areas around the courtyard making small comments to herself before finally entering through the double doors into the Auditorium and taking a seat towards the back of the hall before going still as she waits for the oncoming events. Their head turns slowly to regard each occupant of the room idly looking them over to try and continue the study she had started the previous week.

Akemi Tajima
Strolling up to the doors Akemi paused and gave a long exhale trying to blow out her stress along with it. She wasn't so much worried about how she'd perform on the written exams or her own physical capability as she was concerned that the practical test might not suit her quirk, she'd heard that some schools made use of robots for tests and she wouldn't be able to use her quirk on them at all. Picking up on her worrying from his spot on her shoulder Pocky chirped at her curiously. "You're right boy, I've got this." Petting the bird she tossed her hair and went inside trying to radiate confidence.

Entering the auditorium she quickly found a seat and started people watching quickly finding two people on her avoidance list, Spot was being an ass to some other kid and Inky was just wandering in. Moving on she lingered on two people wearing blindfolds which she found strange but she didn't think it likely that they were blind like her, more likely they had some eye related quirks that they couldn't properly control. While her mind's eye explored she looked to see if Umaru or Liam had arrived yet.

Sakura looked up at the huge building in front of her, knowing well the difficulty of the challenge that lie ahead. She didn't know what the practical exam would be, but she knew it would stretch her to her max, and maybe past it. She left Ghost at home... a battle field was no place for a mouse, and Sakura didn't need to be worrying about him.

As Sakura filed into the auditorium with maybe a thousand other students, her ears turned back and forth, taking in the sound from all directions. Was this the sound of hope? A collective ambition? It was glorious. But it was also way too loud for the mouse girl's heightened senses. She put in her earplugs, and decided to take in the other students by sight instead. This was gonna be a important day.

Kuroki fairly ran through the gates, slipping through the crowd of applicants with ease and pep in her step. Her signature look of smirky confidence graced her face, and she quickly took a seat in the center of the auditorium and began poking her thorns through the skin on one arm and retracting them over and over again. In the other hand she held a large stick of celery that she took frequent bites from. After about a minute, she switched hands, warming up the thorns on her other arm.

She would be ready. In the back of her mind she feared a practical exam that used robots, as she couldn't poison them, but hopefully that was an unnecessary fear. Surely such a prestigious school would be past using robots that only showcased those with flashy, explosive quirks, right?

Aya smiled as she bounced along the path, how exciting. She couldn't wait to take this test. As she walked down the sidewalk she ran her hands through her bright green hair, making sure it was as fluffy as usual and sticking up. She tilted her head as she did so to look at Souta, "Hey Sou." she says, "Are you excited too?" she asks with a smile, "We get to take the AA test!" she grins, "I mean, what do you think the exam will be?" she adds, dropping her skateboard again as she hops on it, rolling forward. She rolled a good few yards ahead before stopping and starting to roll back to Souta She could see the gates from here. As she awaited a response she pulled out some gum which she popped in her mouth, followed by offering a piece to Souta. It was watermelon. She was just extremely excited, especially after how fun the WCA exam had been.

Lee Vanderbilt567510
At crowds apex was Lee Vanderbilt, one of the first students on the scene. He'd been waiting for "eighty seven minutes" and finally there was payoff with the auditoriums opening. Funneling in as the tip of the spear he walks to the first row, sitting dead smack in the middle, unbuttoning his suit before sitting on the lightly padded theater chair. He was excited for what was to come, unlike some of the other visibly nervous students. He'd conquered test after test with near perfect marks throughout his life and this would be no different, for his brain was a well oiled machine and what his duffel bag held would make the practical exam a synch. All in all the Texan felt good about his chances, and his attitude played out physically, his posture confident, hands folded over legs, ready to tear through written and practical exams alike.

Jay Ndaiye
567629

Jay was one of final few entering the auditorium, preferring a comfortable, non-competitive walk to the claustrophobic hustle experienced by those in the center of the line. It didn't matter to him if he got in a minute later than the rest, their rabid desire to sit forty three second earlier was nonsensical to him. First row, last row, none of it impacted grades, why was everyone so pushy?

Whatever.... He was being judgmental. No reason to question human nature over such an inane topic anyway. All that stuff was unimportant and not worth the real estate. All that mattered was the P or F stamped on the post exam report and thinking about which he'd receive caused his heart to slap for a moment. Being compared to others never sat right with him...

That being said, Jay was confident in his chances, being as prepared for the written exam as possible, and in the practical his strong quirk would shine... Not that he knew what the practical was...

Sigh

No big deal, just another point of hypertension! He'd be OK! Maybe

Oni Jiro

Oni Jiro sits behind the principle among fellow faculty and staff. From there he observes, huge frame dwarfing chair and co-worker alike, black kimono fluttering despite there not being any draft to speak of and to the side dangles his samurai sword, custom for the self defense and physical fitness instructor.

Looking out into the crowd he recognizes several from the week before, causing him to smirk slyly, dwelling on the pure chaos of that day. What a time it'd been, that kind of youthful passion was Oni's very lifeblood. Teaching such energetic students would be privilege and pleasure for the enthusiastic man and he looked forward to the year. First though, theyd have to make it through the gauntlet.

Bringing right hand to chin in a stoic display of thought he wonders who'd rise to the challenge and who'd falter. Who the real creme of the crop would be. Whatever the case he wanted to see it play out, and was eager to watch the practical examination. From what he heard AA knew how to test their students and he couldn't wait to see it first hand.

"You're ready?"

"Yeah..."

"Alright now, you do what you want. You finally came this far, and so there is nothing much else that I can do other than give you advice and some protection. You're on your own now, kid."

I feel like I want to make an intro, LEGITEMATELY an intro. But no one has the time in the world to do that, right? Anyway, Aijou stands in front of the academy itself, her hands gripping on the straps of her backpack. She is dead set on passing the examination. She takes a deep breath as she walks inside to the auditorium. The place is very packed and she was hoping that Frieda is around. Eventually, she finds her. "Frieda!" She calls her out as she runs towards her and gives her a hug. "Frieda, I'm so glad you're here!" She happily says with a great big smile.

The short girl is buried in the sea of other contestants, emanating her inward loathing with faint mumbling with being unable to see above the others... her internal thought process suddenly turns to panic as she feels herself grabbed from behind, a faint squish felt from the pressure as the suit, fortunately, contains the ink albeit causing further bulging with the contained fluids.

"I DIDNT DO ANYTHING THIS TIME!" Shouting and flailing for a moment before she realises who it is, one of the girls from the application event *Who you almost burnt to a crisp along with the majority of the street* the sense of guilt returning for a moment before turning nervously them. "Erm...yeah..H..Hi, Its...good to ..to meet you too..." shuffling around as embarrassment joins the mix "Been well have you...I mean have you been well?" starting to chuckle to herself and running a hand through her hair with its fortunately at least staying somewhat white with the added gloves this time

Aijou Kurokami

As Aijou let's go of Frieda, she says "I'm more than well. How about you?" But then she notices something off about her ink-releasing friend. She could feel a hint of guilt in her. "Hmm...listen, what happened last week is now behind us. What you should do is think about what's gonna happen next, okay? Cheer up, I'm with you." She says in an attempt to get Frieda off of her guilt from what happened back in the day.

Her head is constantly scanning the room still nodding as she tries to internally rationalize her decision she is trying to stay positive but the more she sees, the more it erodes her prospects in her mind "Thinking about what happens next....." a hundred worst case scenario's flash through her mind her face paling slightly, no no no she had to at least try to be positive "I...I'll try, i just hope i...i don't cause too many problems for you, to be honest, your chances might be better on your own."

Hideki Mitsuki
Today was the day, finally the entrance exam at AngelWood Academy. Hideki stood outside the gates of the school as kids from all walks of life hurried past him to get into the building. The young teen stared up at the huge academy before making his way though the gates and towards the school. He would simply follow all of his so called "competition" into the auditorium, he was in no rush to get in there. To Hideki it didn't matter where he was sitting, he would listen to the proctors the same as everyone else, didn't matter to him if he was in the first row or last row, in the end he knew he would get into AA, he didn't have a choice he had to get in.

Hideki would walk through the front doors of the school and would eventually make it into the packed auditorium as kids scrambled to find open seats. Hideki would smirk as he looked around at his so called competition, none of them seemed to worry Hideki, he was going to be the strongest and best one here, so no doubt in his mind that he would be accepted into the academy. Hideki would walk down a few steps before finding an open seat down one of the middle rows, it was the first chair in that row right next to isle, so he decided to sit down and take the seat. He would quickly glance around before smirking again, there were a lot of candidates here but only the best of the best would make it into AA, he knew that he was one of them, while it didn't exactly matter to him who the others would be, he was a bit curious to find out who would maybe give him some sort of challenge as the other best of the best students like himself.

"Well that's good to know. Keep up with that and you won't have any problem."
Aijou assures Frieda before she notices her attention shifting to one person to another. She seems to be having a hard time keeping herself positive. Perhaps she needs assistance. Then again, her face is turning pale. "Frieda, I don't care if you cause any problems. If there is a problem, there is a solution, and I am not willing to make you go another guilt trip. The reason for that is because...well...I'm your friend." Aijou says, much to Merkava's disappointment. "That's really vague, kid." He says.

Aijou notices that Frieda is about cry just from her words alone. She starts to worry. Making her cry wasn't her intention. She just wants to make her feel better after last week. "F-Frieda, if you're gonna cry, don't do it now." She tells her in a embarrased tone "This is just the entrance exam, and i-its too early to let go. You can cry when we passed, okay? Aijiou let's out a sigh of relief before letting out a bright smile and say "That's alright. You don't have to be that worked up." She honestly did not expected her to make Frieda cry by just calling her a friend. But this leads her to this question that she have thought; "Does Frieda never had any friends in her life? That sounded just like me before Merkava came into my life. Poor girl. If only I have met her earlier."

Aijou looks closely at Frieda and while she has her composure, she is still trying to hold back her tears. "Maybe I do need to be careful of what I say." Aijou says, and then Merkava follows up with "Yeah, you should. That was completely out of the blue. This ain't some anime, mind you." Aijou responds with a sigh of embarrassment.

Maiko had made her way into the auditorium and had taken her seat, still rocking out to the awesome music in her headphones when a red-haired student greeted her in a very enthusiastic manner. Enthusiasm, good, she like it. She pulled out an earphone, the one on the side that Tsuru was, some rock/pop mix blasting out of it, "HI!" she grinned with large return wave. "How are you?" she asks, immediately asking the most basic question possible. Possibly because of half her attention was still on the music in her other ear.

The boy nervously entered the auditorium. It was so...... big. It made him nervous. But he could do this! totally! He, uh, was eager. But before he could make his way to a seat in the middle, he got shoved to the front of the room. He was flustered, he didn't like being shoved about. This- This uh, was alright. He didn't want to be in the front row but that was okay. He could handle it.

He somehow ended up sitting next to a very intimidating student. Kiyoshi glanced at him nervously, brown hair, glasses.... intimidating duffel bag... His little pincers wiggled nervously as he tried to figure out a way to initiate conversation. After all, maybe it would be less awkward if he talked to him? He continued to glance at him, "Ummmm...." he starts, "How..... uh.. are you?" he asks. Ack. how could he have initiated conversation worse?

Spindel Rostovia

Spindel honestly hadn't expected to make it past the application process. Hundreds if not thousands of potential students applied to Angelwood Academy every year, and only a fraction of those applicants were given the opportunity to even take the entrance exam.
So when she'd received her letter, assuring her a spot in one of the biggest exams in Japan, she'd just about fainted. Given all that had taken place the day she'd turned in her application, she was certain she'd be rejected outright.

Taking a breath in an attempt to steady her nerves, Spindel approached the school, just one of hundreds of hopefuls vying for a spot at the prestigious school. What were the odds she'd stand out among them?
Probably pretty minuscule, she tried not to dwell on that fact. She was scared to death of the practical exam, as it was said to be one of the hardest among the hero schools.
She didn't know how she'd apply her quirk to the obstacles, and if there was fire present... Well, she'd have to deal with it.

As she walked into the auditorium, she spotted some familiar faces from the application day.
Thankfully, it seemed things were a lot less exciting than that day had been. She slipped into the auditorium, lagging behind the more driven applicants who scrambled to get as close to the front as possible.
It didn't matter where one sat during the written exam, but some had to excel at everything.

Taking a seat toward the back, she set her bag on the floor in front of her, and waited for the testing to begin.

Eiji Touzai [x] - AA applicant

"I made it," he said, standing in front of the intimidating white building, feeling like this was the start of--

Someone shoved Eiji out of the way, interrupting his daydream, and he only just managed not to trip over his own feet and faceplant on those intimidating white steps. Shaking his head, he quickly ran in after the latest dregs of the crowd. He really needed this. Even getting to the exams had seemed like a fluke!

It was the first chance he'd had to properly stop and look around the school. Plenty of his fellow aplicants seemed less impressed, as though they'd already visited the place. Some were waving to friends. They all seemed to look like they belonged here. Eiji couldn't help but feel out of place, even though he had dressed even more neatly as usual.

One thing had thrown him: his twin brother. Ever since he'd received his acceptance letter, he had assumed that Eiichi would be with him. They'd make the journey to become heroes together, bringing out the best in each other like they always did. But his older sibling had waited until they both left home before telling him he'd applied somewhere else. With an insincere-sounding "Good luck", he'd turned and walked in the opposite direction.

He'd had to make a split-second decision: follow him, or carry on to Angelwood Academy, while trying not to think about the rug being pulled out from under his feet. They'd never gone to different schools before. The thought hadn't even occurred to him. And now he wondered if he'd made the wrong choice after all.

The crowd had swept him up while he was worrying, and more or less dumped him unceremoniously into an aisle seat at the back before he could even decide where he ought to go. He'd rather have been sitting closer to the front, but most of those spaces had already been taken.

Still, at least he was sitting down. He was feeling good about the written portion of the exam. It was the practical part that worried him, but if he shone through here then they'd have to overlook a subpar performance there. So long as he didn't mess it up completely.

Eiji reached into his bag and took out a meticulously-sharpened pencil and a notebook, and set it on the desk. Just in case. He didn't want to miss anything.

"I thought I might be late," he said conversationally to the green-haired girl sitting near him. Being alone in such a busy room made him nervous, but she looked sensible: or, as though she cared about personal presentation as much as he did. "Everyone was in such a rush!"

Chiaki Hakunetsu [x] - AA teacher (auditorium)

"Move, please!" Chiaki sang out as she strode towards the auditorium in a swirl of purple fabric, and some of the crowd jumped out of the way, as though embarrassed to be caught. She heard several whispers from those who recognised her: probably those few who still hadn't quite grasped the idea that real pro heroes would be teaching here.

"Good morning, Jiro," she said as she reached the front, smiling warmly at the physical fitness teacher, "Yamasaki," (Kenta half-heartedly slurped his drink in response without looking up), and sat down once she had finished cheerfully greeting those others sitting behind the principal. His young son briefly made eye contact with her, curious, but hid his face shyly when she smiled at him.

Addressing fellow heroes as teachers, some of whom she knew well, more she knew mainly through reputation, was still great source of amusement to her. It felt rather like this was them in costume, rather than the other way around, but she was still pleased to be here. And eager to get started: Chiaki had been unable to get a good look at the applicants before now, and she was curious to see what the aspiring young heroes of today had to offer. After all, she wasn't just a homeroom teacher, and couldn't help wondering about who she might one day end up working alongside.

Spindel Rostovia

The auditorium was filling up, Spindel was awestruck with how many people were present. Well, she'd known that there would be a lot of people, but even with that knowledge she hadn't been properly prepared. Spindel wasn't used to such large crowds, and while she likely didn't stick out at all she couldn't help but feel self conscious about her appearance.
In a world where people could fly, turn invisible or have the aspects of a frog or some other animal, she still felt self conscious about her own bizarre appearance. With her dark green hair, pale blue tinged skin and the black stitches visible on her neck, arms and legs, she felt like the odd one out. She was used to people taking a look at her and then looking away, and being ignored.

So imagine her surprise when a new face plopped down in the seat next to her, took out a notebook and pencil and spoke to her.
"Oh uh, yes, punctuality is important with something like this", she replied with a nervous smile.
She paused for a second to ensure that her hair was straight and neat, as well as her clothes.

She'd pulled her hair back and into a ponytail, which was draped over her shoulder. She wore a black dress shirt with a plaid green skirt, the green matching the hues of her hair.

"But luckily, you're right on time", she spoke as she reached down and pulled her own notebook out of her bag.
She didn't recognize the boy from the fiasco that happened previously, so that was a start.

"My name's Spindel", she continued after a moment. "And you are?".

For a time Lee sat quietly, mulling over several math formulas likely found in the exam. He knew them by heart but still, it was his way, maximum preparedness for maximum results, even if it was redundant. Nothing short of a 95% mark would satisfy him and he would make s - -

"Someone is talking?" he thinks, pulled from thought by a kid sitting beside him. He hadn't paid the student close attention, being wrapped in thought, but he'd caught the last few words and it was enough to work with.

"I'm doing fine thank you!" Lee begins, self serious and overly composed.

"I can't wait to start these tests. I've passed a few other entrence exams but AA is my first choice!" he continues.

"I'm Lee, Lee Vanderbilt, well met!" he concludes, extending his hand in a show of friendship, holding strong eye contact, completely unaware of Kiyoshis anxiety, being far too obtuse to pick up on such cues.

Not much can be said of Oni Jiro right now, he's just kind of there after all. However, for a moment he's broken from his bored trance by Chiaki. Having respect for her and the storied career she'd led he responds to her greeting with a hearty grunt and head nod. It wasn't much but of all his acknowledgments, the most silent and reserved one held the most peer to peer respect.
