Fantasy A Guild of Heroes (Temporarily Closed)

Reina_StehlengarBanner.jpg
Location: Dark Forest
Reina glanced around as they arrived, a bright smile on her lips. She spun around, her dress flowing around with her as she looked on at her surroundings. Rather then being upset by the gloom site she was filled with some excitement about the adventure. Her expression did soften a bit as if taking in the situation in. It was enough to leave her distracted, falling behind the others a bit. She blinked tapping her chin.

"Oh! Wait up guys!" She called running behind her voice a bit meek as she ran up to catch up to everyone. It was at that point her arrival was just in time to witness their guild leader get pelted by arrows. She seemed generally unfazed, not at all worried about his well-being. She ran up towards everyone catching the end of his orders as he ran off on his own, a pout on her face from not getting to join sensei, like the good ol' times!

She looked to Pandora giving a light nod, not that she was listening that intently truthfully to the plan having missed the early parts of it but just trying to fit in. The voice of Minevira reached her ears in agreement with who seemed to be taking charge. Her eyes glanced at Damien as she stood a bit closer to him in wandering up to the group. Her eyes couldn't help but look at him cutely still in part wondering if he had an iron face somewhere hidden on his body....

"We kick their butts of course!" She spoke with a bright smile towards Damian., lifting her fist in the air with a smile. She lowered her arm down after a few seconds shifting to standing in a more 'formal' way with her arms behind her back as if standing at attention She seemed a little excited standing as she was with a smile on her face oblivious to the danger or perhaps just not feeling all that threatened by it.

Iris Galvor
Location: Fort Black

In one of the smaller rooms of Fort Black, Iris stood with only candles as light. Mild fog floated just above the floor as the candles waved back and forth. Iris was channeling mana into a glass bottle filed with green liquid. For a moment the bottle lit up and the liquid started reacting to the energy. After a few moments the bottle shattered into pieces and the liquid flew everywhere. "Uhhh, Now I have to clean this up, and it didn't even work." she said before gathering some cloth and then cleaning up the mess. "I think the Library had something on potion enhancing, but it was in another language. I guess I could translate it and see if there's anything I can learn, I suppose." As of now Iris hadn't learned much from the Library, but then again she also hadn't gone there too many times.
Iris picked up her book and continued reading it as she walked through the halls toward the library.

Shade
Dark Forest

Shade felt uneasy in the dark, shadowy forest, ironically enough considering his name. It would be easy to get ambushed here, just as the Guildmaster just had, before entrusting the group to the leadership of a young Paladin. He was aware he wasn't that frail enough to have to fear such a thing, but an instinctual paranoid feeling still came over him in situations like this. Perhaps it had something to do with something that happened to him when he was alive... That thought bothered him, as did any other thoughts about his identity and lost memories. Forcing himself to cease thinking about the matter, he stayed close with the others, looking up into the trees nervously. He looked back down at the others, who hardly seemed dazed at all. He almost envied them, and wondered how they could act so calm during missions like these.

As soon as the teleportation ended, the blonde woman felt a bit uneasy. However, she regained balance and looked around the eerie woods. She placed her hand on her sword's grip. To an outside person, she'd be placing her hand on nothingness. She looked at Azazel, "How much walking until we get there?" She asks curiously. Then, she looked at Reina catch up and chuckled. "Always the late one, eh?" She spoke calmly, smiling at the young girl with warmth in her expression. However, the gloomy atmosphere of the forest gave her chills. She tightened the grip on her sword's grip and stayed on alert for anything that might pop up out of nowhere to attack the group.

Hemos
Location: Sabbat Castle

"Hemos! The heretics are trying to infiltrate and destroy our cause." A couple of Scouts came into the room he was in. They were required to report to him, as to not disturb the headmaster

Hemos looked at them. "Looks like we have to divert them, then. I get a lecture if the heretics mess this up." With a yawn, he got up and grabbed his sword and armor. Hemos wasn't the leader of the clan. Just the coordinator. You know, bodyguard and that sort of deal. Anything that deals with fighting. He believes in the cause probably more than the headmaster himself.

He isn't loyal to the headmaster. Just the cause. Whoever could do things best. If someone beat the Headmaster and took over, it must be destiny's cards

He opened his window and jumped out, ready to pursue the enemy

Lucina Waesmor
Dark Forest

Lucina was alarmed by her owls. "A troop of cultists, About a meter ahead. Magic ordinance inbound! Arrows up on the castle wall!" The sound of arrows were piercing the forest floor and Lucina dove to cover. Her sword was at the ready.

A group of mages came rushing in, ready to attack with heavy magic armor. They were pretty resistant to magic, but could be taken out with physical force.

The owls set to attacking the mages. It'd be a minute before the mages put up a shield enough to get back to firing. They needed to close the gap to the castle before then

"Looks like they left without us," Iclyn said as she watched the shimmering light fade away from where she sat. She didn't really care at the moment, the shade of the tree and the relaxing air was really starting to make her feel comfortable. It was a feeling of ease and simple relaxation, the type that you would get when there's nothing to ponder on your mind and an open field before you to breath in. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a dark figure moving down the halls toward the library.

Damian Vi Lasombra
Dark Forest / Cultist Grounds

Seeing the cultists approach, Damian at first wanted to summon the darkness of Obtenebration to make them choke on their shadows until they died, but... That wouldn't be heroic. Instead, he decided to pretend to be slightly more helpless, and instead cast Potence on himself, enhancing his natural strength. He took a small green vial from underneath his robe and threw it toward the sky at very high-velocity thanks to his augmented strength. He, then, took a very, very small bit of the shadow of a local tree, one so small that it could barely be seen even up close - and sent it after the vial of alchemical content, hitting it with said shadow, like a bullet. It made the vial explode into a dark green cloud of caustic smoke, that Damian explained the function of. "As long as we stay under the cloud, we are safe. It will dissolve the arrows into nothingness," he said. Nobody could have noticed him using a shadow to do that, right? They would have been too busy focusing on the enemies forward to even notice what he was doing until he announced it. That is what he had hoped for.

ELIZABETH ROCKWELL
Fort Black - Library

Elizabeth hadn't even bothered with getting to no anyone or even settle in. She didn't bring much; she didn't have much. She brought a small backpack and it was mostly filled with books and mint leaves. Her goal had not changed, she needed to find a way to get the blood of the Paladin ( CrimsonEclipse CrimsonEclipse ) she saw earlier. She pulled her brother's note from under her clothes and sighed. The note was the only thing she had left that could remind her of her brother. Sometimes she wasn't sure if she was happy that she was alive. A life without her brother was... empty.
"I miss you" Elizabeth whispered to herself. She shook her head and straightened out the paper. It was crumpled up and the writing was starting to fade which was unusual because the last time she opened it up, it was perfectly fine. She needed blood that would fill 2 inches of a 4 inch vial. The other two inches would need to be filled with human blood, more specifically, a human without magical capabilities. Then the last ingredient was fresh wet mud. Elizabeth stuck her tongue out in disgust. It was obviously a potion and she wasn't excited to drink a mud smoothie where the main ingredient was blood.

She had placed herself in the back of library in a corner with 4 books beside her. They were all about necromancy or what was known about it. Her brother had turned into... something else. That was for sure. She swore that sometimes in her dreams she could see his face- but it wasn't his face. It was pale and empty and his eyes... they looked almost demonic. Elizabeth flipped open the first book and started reading. She shook her head in annoyance. She had already read that one and took a look at the other three books. They all contained information that she had researched about. Frustrated, she pulled out her bag of mint leaves and stuffed three in her mouth to chew.

She looked at the owl return to Lucina. The arrows took her by surprise, but she took out her sword in due time, deflecting all of the arrows that were flying towards her. In the moment the cultists entered the scene, Artoria grinned, "About time." She said, grabbing the sword's grip with both hands very firmly, dashing at two of the cultists before her. She attempted to slash her sword through their tendons. (Void the ITALIC if action fails) The blade of her sword cut through both of their legs' tendons, cutting them and successfully incapacitating both of the cultists. She moved to the next group of three cultists, now staying on the defensive. She raised her unknown weapon to her ear and pointed its tip at the three foes. "Come on!" She provoked them, chuckling.

Reina blinked as she heard the voice of Artoria, letting out a light nervous laugh before rubbing the back of her head looking a bit goofy in the process. She looked over a bit surprised hearing Lucina mentioned about more cultists, at least how many there seemed to be. She seemed still quite excited, not viewing it for the danger but the fun it could be. She looked to Damian, unaware of his technique used as he stopped the arrows.

"Ah! That's incredible Dami-kun!" She spoke throwing together a random nick name on the spot. She wasn't very good at coming up with to clever names on a whim. She had been desperate to find a way to name him something similar to Azazel but she still couldn't manage to find something to link him to his uncle. Spruned on by the approaching foes, she was quick to move forward taking the charge with Artoria.

She smiled happily seeing them as more an annoyance then a threat. She punched out at a nearby armored foe, her fist easily denting the cultist heavy armor sending them flying back. Despite her small and lilith appearance, Reina had monstrous strength to her. She ducked away from an incoming attack, kicking at another Cultist very much sending him flying back as she began to combat in close range, all excited having a little fun dancing around in her pretty dress the only way an adventurer could.

1 Mage held out his hand towards her, and out flew a massive number of fireballs like a machine gun. Relentless and unforgiving. It'd most likely put her in a place of defense, because there was no recharge or gap between the fireballs. They weren't red fireballs. They were pinkish white, signaling just how hot they were. A hit would instantly ignite her unless she had a source of Water, Ice or Wind magic

The next teleported past her and dashed towards Damian, releasing a bunch of Ice spikes toward him on the ground. If one tried to break it, they'd find that the Ice had a hardness that rivaled Steel. If Damian chose to approach, he'd feel his body getting slower as his cells started to freeze from an aura of ice about him. It was obvious that these mages were far above the power of normal mages.

She was suddenly grabbed and thrown to a tree. Looking at her was another cultist, one with obviously high strength. He punched the ground, aiming to split the ground underneath her. If she fell, she'd most definitely die as there was naught but molten lava underneath.........or the underworld

Seeing the spikes approach, he took out a petrol bomb from under his robe throwing it several meters in front of him. It worked like a molotov cocktail and exploded, covering the ground in alchemical fire that would slow the ice's approach. Damian took a step to the side and ran past the field of ice and fire, going around it and approaching closer to the cultist, then jumped next to him and cast the Command spell on him, looking straight into his eye. "Fall," he softly, yet relentlessly whispered. If the spell succeeded, and the chances of that were tremendous; the cultist would follow the command the best he could and fall to the ground.

(This part only if the command spell worked)
Damian jumped on top of the cultist and, enhanced with his Potence spell that increased strength, he'd start punching him in the face time after time, relentlessly, and not stop. His strength was peak-human thanks to the Potence spell, so each punch would be like being hit by a real-life weightlifting champion.

As they were marching towards the enemy's castle, she heard the demon nephew ask her a question. She ignored it of course, having thought that it was extremely stupid. What would we do if we encountered the enemy? I don't know, how about we serve them tea, talk about politics, dance with each other, then have an orgy? Of course they'd attack the cultist! What else were they gonna do?!

Anyway, after walking for a while, the owl girl alerted them that a group of cultists was about to engage them. They had fired arrows at them, but die to the foliage, fired it upwards and was aiming to hit us as it descended. The demon nephew threw a bottle of who-knows-what-something-evil-I-guess into the air, which exploded into a cloud of smoke that dissolved te arrows. Wait, how did the bottle explode? It hit nothing but air, but it exploded anyway. Weird, well, something to look out for in the future.

"Blessing!" Pandora yelled as she activated a spell. A gentle glowing ligjt wrapped around her allies and herself and they could feel themselves getting stronger. Of course she included the demon nephew, maybe it won't hurt him *snickers*. "Anoint!" Pandora used another one of her spells. The weapons of her allies were also wrapped in light, imbuing it with holy magic. It was a spell that she was taughtnyet rarely used because a.) all Paladins have holy weapons rendering the spell useless and b.) the other times she fought was alone.

After casting the two spells, Pandora charged towards where the cultists are gathered, her shield raised in front of her. When she was only a few feet away, Pandora mustered her strength and leapt into te air. She leapt up and above, heading for the center of the group. "Divine Armament!" She said when she was in the air. She was wrappe in a bright light, and when the light died down, she was covered from head to toe in a suit of holy armor.

As she crashed to the ground, Pandora slammed her hammer on the ground and activated its innate ability. It sent a massive shockwave rippling away from her, her weight and momentum further strengthening the blow. If successful, the shockwavw should send the cultists flying away from her.

Auric Wildborn
Dark Forest

Auric awoke with a start as the tree branch he was sleeping on crumbled beneath him. It would have hurt like hell, but there was a cushion of plant matter that thankfully broke his fall.
Auric yawned, and saw with oddly little surprise that he wasn't in the courtyard. The setting had changed to an eerie forest with blackened trees that jutted from the carpet of decaying matter like twisted limbs. The area had a strange... necrotic quality that made Auric's stomach churn. Off in the distance, he saw several of his guildmates fighting with some people in strange black robes.
Of course, being part of the guild himself, Auric was obliged to defend them. Asking about the situation could wait. He reached for his staff, and grabbed thin air. Auric realized that he left it in his room at the guild castle. Either that or this was a nightmare where he would have to watch all of his friends die at the hands of a faceless band of thieves and be powerless to save them. Hopefully the former.
Auric sprang into the battle as some kind of large feline he couldn't remember the name of, with gold fur dotted with black spots. He pounced on one of the assailants, hoping that his guildmates wouldn't attack him on sight- he couldn't speak while shapeshifted, so there wasn't much he could do to prove his identity.

On the walk to the Library she decided to walk by the courtyard, simply because she doesn't often go this route. As she was walking she noticed 2 people sitting down under the shade. One seemed familiar somehow, she couldn't quite remember why though. The library book wasn't an immediate need, so she decided to investigate this first.
As she approached them she noticed that she was using runes. She had been studying runes and how she could better effect them. Probably why the women seemed familiar, if nothing else then for the magic.
"You seem rather comfortable, may I join you?" Iris stood just in front of them to where she wasn't in the shade yet. She partially hated the sun, regardless of how cold it was outside, she would rather a day with the darkness of the clouds and bitter cold winds then one where the blistering sun 'brightened' the day.

"I would've gone had I the chance.." she grumbled ruther, her eyes frowning down as some of her reknowned rage surface, her face turning from peaceful serenity to a vicious snarl in a matter of second. "Whatever, mission was probably for the new damn recruits." She hissed foully, closing her eyes but remaining rather annoyed. "Hope one of 'em die for not bringing me along." She muttered grumpily before a new voice popped into her ears. "Yes, I am comfortable, and yes, this tree is for all those of the guild." Rose pouted without even bothering to open her eyes at the newcomer. "Just don't touch my axe." She warned before giving a loud, audible sigh and allowing her deep inherited rage to subside back into the depths of her mind. A rare day indeed it was, for Rose rarely ever bothered to calm it, had the woman next to her not have been providing the cool, refreshing breeze that reminded her of home, she would have cleaved the tree is two.

It didn't take very long for the Mage to die after Damian jumped on him and punched his lights clean out for good. He had no idea what the hell happened, only that he was down on the floor looking at his face being caved in

Everyone was blasted as the ground around them shook and froze over. Massive-ass Ice balls were being chucked at them, hard as steel from the castle. Upon impact with the ground, it exploded and froze everything. A direct hit would do massive damage to even the heaviest of armor, and would shatter anything less. Anyone who had anything less than heavy armor and took a direct hit, there a very high chance of an instant death. There wasn't much magic that could extinguish the magic ball before it arrived. It was that compressed.

Lucina wasn't in the battle. She was looking through the eyes of one of her owls. She was sensing a massive buildup. Ice and............... "Anti-Magic! Magic EMP incoming! Get the hell out of dodge!" If they were hit with the Anti-Magic ball, any and all magic and magic effects would be disabled. Summoned armaments would disperse. Magic spells wouldn't be able to be cast, and it would last for about 5 minutes. All Lucina's owls would disappear. They'd be vulnerable without magic.

As every mage fell, it could be noted that all the blood that spilled would be leaving the bodies and heading in a particular direction ahead.

rumors circulate among new recruits about a certain "Ghost" that haunts the Fort Black Library. Stories of books floating off the shelves and pages flipping by themselves. Some recruits run out of the library babbling about a strange silhouette that float over them when they're looking for their sought after books.

A young woman was going to venture out on a quest to hunt a Manticore and needed to do some research on the rare beast. The librarian directed her to the rarely visited archive where all the classical tomes are kept. "Now... manticore... manticore... where can I find a book about a manticore..."

She walked through the aisles and shelves of dusty old books, plucking hardcover after hardcover from the shelves.

"Hmmm... Pardon me for the intrusion. Manticore... I have encountered a few books about such creatures before..." A deep distorted voice echoed throughout the halls.

The girl's eyes opened wide in surprise... she was certain she was the only one in this part of the library.

A couple of books seem to float off the shelves and levitate in front of the girl.

"Here is a bestiary written by Saint Requious III... I find this book quite useful for getting the general idea and whatnot. However, this book right here..." As if on cue... one of the books floated on top of the other. "Is a diary of an Espanian monk Lucifio on his travels with the great swordsman, Senor Fred... on this page..." The book cracked open to a specific page. "we can find a detailed account of the fight between the Manticore and the Espanian soldier... it lists all the weaknesses abused by the swordsman at that time..." The voice explained very politely.

The girl took two steps back from the floating books.

"Ah I see, pardon me... I might have startled you. Yes... indeed... I apologize. This happens quite often..."

A shadowy figure walked towards the girl... excepts its feet walked on the ceiling instead of the floor. "No need to be... scared..." The creature seems to be speaking directly into her mind.

"Oh..oh... I'm not... s-" The girl said before fainting. Tentacled fingers managed to catch her head before she fell.

MALCOLM MOORVE
Dark Forest > Cultist Grounds

Malcolm had a slow start to the mission. After they were teleported, Malcolm felt funny and went behind a tree to throw up and no one had seemed to notice. They already left to find the cultists and by the time Malcolm was feeling better they were no where in sight. He had to climb a tree to get a better view but fog came up and blocked his vision so he had to go about it on foot. He was about to give up when he heard shouts from what looked like a clearing sitting below a castle. Realizing his new guild mates may need some help he rushed over and immediately regretted it.

It was chaos, dead bodies were falling and large spheres of ice were coming down... hard. Malcolm almost got crushed by a falling corpse of a mage but created a blanket of sand over the body and threw it several feet away from Malcolm. As he was running towards the lady that had an odd connection with owls, she screamed something Malcolm did not understand until he looked up.
"This was supposed to be fun..." Malcolm muttered to himself as he dodge to the side and created a wall of sand to his left. As a ball of ice shattered beside him, the shards flew towards Malcolm but became lodged in the sand. Malcolm released the shards and shrieked as a large triangle shaped shard landed several inches from him. Malcolm curled his fists in frustration; he did not think his first mission would be like this.

Dark Forest

A dark figure with long white hair trudged through the leaf littered floor of the forest and looked passively at the conflict below him. He watched as the guild of heroes clashed with the cultist mages. He noticed a young moon elf boy trying to hold his own against the cultist forces. He walked casually to the boy... his dark armor clanging on the forest floor. With a simple clean streak of red energy, the masked stranger sliced apart another ice shard that was heading towards the boy. He held his glowing red blade for a few minutes before sheathing it. The chaos in front of him seems to distract everyone from his presence. At this moment, only the elf can see him. "Its all pointless... battle... conflict... what use is fighting when everything you fight for abandons you when you die?" The masked man's voice was metallic but quiet... as if tinged with a heavy sorrow. "young man... why do you fight?" He asked Malcolm with a deep metallic voice.

He said as he waked passed Iclyn and company. He frantically floated back and forth somewhat annoyingly behind the group left behind. "W-what should I do!? Should I teleport myself to where they are and help out!?" He asked partly to Iclyn and partly to himself. "Hmmm... perhaps if better if I stayed behind!? With me there, the battle with end very quickly... the writers in that boring dimension would call me OP again... and the beings of this dimension will feel like I stole their thunder..." James sighed. "Yes... I guess it's for the best... I am not particularly interested in studying cultists anyway... but... what if I miss something worth observing!?" He held his head frantically. With Rose's approval, Iclyn nodded a smile as well. As the woman took her seat in the shade, it seemed to her that with the three of them taking a place in the shade, it might be a bit clouded. To remedy this, Iclyn casted a rune that extended shadows. It glowed blue and for a moment in the air and disappeared as the shade began to grow ever so slightly. It was something she has almost never used beyond a reference point to study illusion runes. It would never be used in combat. "What's your name?"

Before she could respond, the telepathic calling of some weird entity came into the courtyard, and judging by her new friends' reactions, she wasn't alone. Iclyn looked over at the... um... moving mass of mana... That honestly is all she could tell. If it wasn't for that fact that it was walking and probably the source of the telepathy, she might've mistaken it for someone's runic catalyst gone awol. She just stared at it.

James
Fort Black Courtyard

"Oh, goodness gracious me!" James stopped moving back and forth and faced Iclyn who seems to be staring at him. "How incredibly rude of me, I don't believe we have been formally introduced yet... I am still getting used to this world's formalities..." James held out a hand in greeting. "The term that describes me most accurately is James, I am what you would probably call a mana entity... honored to meet you, fellow guildmates..." James continued. "Ah don't worry, I will not hurt you... my consciousness prevents me from going unstable and absorbing this world into a magical vacuum..." The emotionless face of James emanated psychic messages as he held out a hand. The tentacles above his head floated weightlessly as if in water. "Um... that probably worried you more... oh James... you should really learn to watch what you say..." The entity spoke to itself.

Iclyn Hajnal Holmström
Location: Fort Black - Courtyard

Iclyn slowly raised her hand to wave hi. Her face was one of bewilderment. She's seen beings and golems summoned and take on liquid forms (which she's just freeze to stop) but this guy -is he even male? He called himself James- seems sentient and independent. "Um... I'm Iclyn? Nice to meet you?"
