He frowned, continuing to move away from Kai as he swung at him. "I'm not trying to beat you, I just want you to stop trying to stab me!" the prisoner said, glaring at him as he continued to try to deflect his slices and stabs. After a few moments, he suddenly moved, kicking Kai in the gut, before moving back again, keeping his back pressed against the wall. "You're crazy, you know that? We're not gonna escape, and all you're gonna end up doing is stabbing me for no reason at all."

Kai grunted slightly as he kicked him. Kai grinned, "stop talking and concentrate." Kai sidestepped and entered into the mans guard. He then stood up and placed his knife on the mans neck. "Now what?"

He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment when Kai placed the knife to his throat, sighing. "Now I regret starting a conversation with you." he said, before suddenly moving back, kicking Kai again, with enough force to push him back. "I don't get why you think this is doing any good. Who's to say we've got any way to get out of here?"


Just then, a guard approached the cell, watching the two for a few moments. "Hey, pirate fellow, you've got a visitor. Not that you're allowed visitors, but, ah, she's awfully good at convincing people..."

Kai smiled, "this could be our escape." He quickly put the two knives back and walked to the bars of the cell. "And who is here to bless us with her presence?"

Cassandra smiled sweetly at the guard as she approached the cell. "Mind giving us some privacy, dear? There's more of that where it came from..."


The guard thought for a few moments, before nodding, escorting the other guards outside, closing the door behind them.


She chuckled, before turning back to Kai, the smile quickly fading. "There's word that you'll be hung in a week or so. Which, thankfully, gives us plenty of time..." she said with a sigh, running a hand through her hair. "I got the bounty. It's plenty, and I'll leave a quarter of it at home. Take the rest with us, you know? Anyways, give me a few days. I'll probably come sometime in the middle of the night..." she shifted a bit, looking over at the other prisoner. "Hello there. I suppose I might as well get you out, too. Would you like to join us?"


He hesitated, before nodding. "Sure. I wouldn't mind you sweetening up the deal..."


"Yes, of course..." she rolled her eyes and sighed. "Well, what's your name, then? What're you in for? I hope you'll be helpful."


"Cooper, ma'am. I'm, uh, in for stealing and attempted murder."


She tilted her head, before smiling. "Well, Cooper, sweetie, I'll come back for you and Kai in a few days. Unless they suddenly change the date, you should be fine."

Kai looked at Cassandra, his eyebrows raised. "I dont want to know what u did to those guards!" Kai turned around and walked away. "Yea, yea great good job, now go f*** some more guards." Kai lay down and sighed.

She raised an eyebrow, staring at him. "I beg your pardon? I merely gave them some money, and a few smooches for the more handsome ones. Not that it would matter to you." Cassandra scowled, running a hand through her hair. "I'll be back for you two later. At least, I can say you were shot and killed by one of the guards and bring Copper here with me. At least he speaks kindly to me."


"Cooper, ma'am-- but, uh, thanks..."


With a nod, she spun around, walking out quietly. The guards took their place again, a couple making a comment or two.

"Yea whatever," Kai said and collapsed over. "She gets on my nerves," Kai said before closing his eyes and slowly dozing off.

Copper looked down at Kai, frowning. "I noticed." he muttered, before sighing quietly, sitting down on the makeshift bed again. "So, what, she's your wife or something? I saw that ring on her finger. You don't look like the kind of lad to give a girl something that nice, though. I'd expect you to sell it, and give her something cheaper. Like a plain band. Or, uh, a ruby or somethin'." he paused when he realized Kai was asleep, sighing quietly and sitting back.

Kai awoke about an hour later. He knew that he had dreamed but he couldnt quite remember what it was. Kai yawned and stood up, stretching before sitting back down on the bed, spinning his knife between his fingers.

Cooper was sitting against the wall, half asleep himself, though he straightened up when a man approached their cell. He was clearly working for the Navy, or was at least the local law enforcement.


"You lads have three days in there until you'll both be hung for your crimes. We would've given the pirate a fair trial, but..." he eyed Kai for a moment, before smirking. "We all agreed that you were to be hung. That's the usual punishment, anyways. Hope you two enjoy your time in there. Maybe the guards will be nice enough to give you a decent last meal."

"Hoorah," Kai said sarcastically. He unenthusiasticly raised his arms and put on a fake smile. "Woohoo..." Kai sighed before collapsing back onto the bed. "She aint my wife," he blurted out suddenly, recalling hearing Cooper say something like that earlier.

Cooper raised an eyebrow, before sighing, standing and leaning against the wall. "Yes, sir." he muttered, watching as the man left quietly. He remained silent for a few long moments, before approaching the cell door. "Speakin' of meal, when're we getting food, huh?" he asked, eying the guards.


"In an hour or two." another said, eying Cooper.

Kai snarled at the guards responce. He was totally bored. He got up and strolled around the cell. He used his knife and started carving on the stone.

Cooper sighed, sitting back and frowning at Kai. "You spend enough time in here, you learn to pass the time." he said with a shrug, stretching. "Like, uh... telling stories. Or, like, uh... yeah, carving on stone works. Hell, you can even nap. I've never slept so much in my life." he sighed, sitting back down and rubbing at his eyes. "Whole bunch of stuff. And by that I mean... like, five things. I think they plan on killing us with boredom."


Cassandra had spent some time with her father, mostly discussing the wedding, and 'readjusting' to her home before she set out to meet Kai. Immediately afterwards, she stopped by the port. A couple ships caught her eye, and she knew she could probably bargain for one with one of their owners at the last minute. That, or steal them. Still, she knew that it wouldn't be easy, and had wound up buying a decently large, powerful vessel for a cheap enough price. She owed it to her words, though she knew for a fact her looks and a few actions had made it easier for her. By the time the sun had began to set, she had even found a few new recruits. She returned back to her home before nightfall, unsurprised that her father was concerned for her even though she was only gone for a couple hours.

Kai chuckled and moved onto the next carving, before long he had several intricate designs scattered along the floor. He collapsed onto the floor and lay there exhausted, waiting for Cassandra.

It took her a couple days before she had everything set up, and as one would expected, those hours felt like an eternity in the jail cell. Cooper had seemed to have already adapted to it, often sitting in a corner or on his makeshift bed, staring into space for what seemed to be hours at a time. Come nightfall on the second day, Cassandra had sent some men to break the two out of prison. They weren't guarded especially well, and the guards were easy enough to take care of.


One man, dark-haired and burly, had retrieved a key, staring the two down for a few moments. "You're the ones we're supposed to break out of here?" he scoffed quietly, looking back at the few men he was with.


"Just get 'em out of here and we can leave." another said quietly, frowning. "The lady's gonna have our heads if we don't bring 'em back with us."


"I doubt it." he muttered, though unlocked the cell door and carefully pulled it open, nodding to the door. "We, uh, got rid of the guards for you guys. Let's get going. You two are the pirates she's wanting?" he asked as Cooper hurried out of the cell. "She's got the beginnings of a crew going an' everything. She your captain?"

The days until the men arrived felt like hell. As each day passed, Kai's mood got worse. When the men finally came, Kai was in a very bad mood.


"Pffft, you really think so?" Kai asked looking at the men. "I think you would be mistaken," he said, spitting into the cell as he left. "Right, take us to the woman then," Kai said, drawing his dagger for safety.

The burly man nodded, leading Cooper and Kai out of the cell. "Lady Dolores, she called herself. She had her face covered, but she was carrying a sword and a gun on her..." he glanced back at them for a moment. "We, uh... didn't think much of her at first. But I really did think she was the captain, after talking with 'er for a bit. I would'a thought you were her first mate, or something. Anyways, she's waiting not too far from here. This isn't the only prison she's been clearing out."


Cooper glanced around as they left the prison, ducking through alleyways and eventually finding themselves beside a tavern, the sea in view. The man pointed to the ship.


"That's her ship. Not bad, I think. She says she's wanting to give it a new paint job, but, uh, we can't really help with that. Though, we might have to, seeing as she's hired us..." he paused for a moment, looking around quickly and spotting a small, approaching group of men. "There's the rest of them. Dolores is probably waiting for us on the ship..."

Kai follows the man, listening as he rattled on. As he saw the boat he let out a low whistle. "Wow," he muttered. He walked passed the group of men and muttered a greeting. He then boarded the ship and walked to Cassandra. "Good job, i'm proud," Kai smiled and patted her on the back. "Did you get me.some weapons?"

Cassandra got to her feet as Kai approached, eying him for a moment. "A pistol and a sword." she said, pausing for a moment, before grinning. "And I got myself some new clothes." she tugged lightly at the lapels of her coat. "Not bad, eh? Great, for only having a few days to work on it. I paid the tailor well." she paused for a moment, eying him. "Er... forgot to get you anything, though. I suggest you go below deck and clean yourself up. We'd better get out of here before they notice you've gone."

"Smart one," Kai smirked. He grabbed the sword and pistol and went into his cabin. He grabbed his weapons belt and put his weapons in it. He then headed below deck and cleaned up.

Cassandra watched as he left, before turning to the small crew she had gathered. "Alright, lads, we'd best get moving. I don't really care where we're heading, for now -- just away from this place."


The men got to work on raising the anchor and slowly pulling away from the harbour. Within a few minutes, they were sailing away. Cassandra leaned against the mast, quietly watching the town fade.

After Kai had cleaned up he returned to the deck and saw that the crew were all functioning nicely. He looked back and managed to just grab a glimpse of the town before it faded into the distance. "Good work, you did very well," Kai beamed proudly. He then went to the wheel and shooed the crewman who was currently steering. Kai then pulled out his compass and examined it. "Let's turn 'er 30 degrees port, chop chop!" Kai yelled as he turned the wheel.

A few of the crew members hesitated, before getting to work. Cassandra smirked, approaching and standing beside him. "So, I did a wonderful job... I get to be something more important, like, say, the first mate, right?" she asked with a grin, folding her arms and glancing around the deck. "I mean, I did save your life and get you some new crew members... and a brand new ship. That's something, isn't it?" she paused for a moment, before reaching into her pocket. "Oh, and I got this beautiful diamond ring from poor Edward... I think it could sell for quite a bit."
