Fantasy New Atlantis Characters

A rank adaptability
E rank destructive potential
C rank defense

D rank deadliness
E rank fundamental control
C rank reach
D rank weakness

10+2+6+6+4+2+6-2=10+18+6=34

overall you are 4 points above the limit, at OP rank. You need to weaken the power.

Dammit! I was so close to not being over! xD
I honestly thought the power wasn't too powerful given it's lack of capacity for killing, but it seems one doesn't have to have that high of a power ranking to be an overall A rank. :3

Off to adding some weaknesses I go!
(Btw, do you think I should lock some things for later too? I did have an idea for unlocking even more stuff later on from this point, but perhaps it's too much?)

well, the thing is it´s not just individual effects that matter, having more effects is also an advantage. And I just realized I forgot to count the F rank stuff....

To unlock power upgrades, you need to use your hero skill slots.

Okay, I'm going all out. I'll lock the elemental and miscellaneous effects for now in hopes that they lower my score. Any other ideas? Also, how much energy/mana/ammo should my marks use up when placed or triggered? I'm in favour of having them using mana only when triggered.

...crap. I can´t believe such a dumb mistake as to forget to add the cost part into the CS...

You could probably get away with a lower mana cost if you spent mana when placing them instead of triggering. If you spend mana only when triggering, that lets you place marks everywhere willy-nilly without any downside. If you need to, you can then trigger them if you please - or simply let them expire if they aren't needed. There's not much to stop you from placing marks all over the city. There's no risk to placing marks.

But if you spend mana to place a mark, there's more risk to doing so. You need to evaluate how useful it might be before you place the mark. More risk means more reward in the form of a lower cost.

That said - if you still opt for spending mana only upon triggering, you're going to get a limit on how many you can have active at once. Can't have you placing time-bombs on every doorhandle in Atlantis.

Yeah, but that means I'd have to put those stats I gain into something like wits to actually be able to make use of them effectively. I mean, unless it's a large and noticeable difference, it doesn't seem worth it to me.

Plus I just locked half my power away basically. I should be good on points.

I guess I'll wait for Idea to give me an idea on how this mana business works.

didn´t even think about that... that would blow the range rank up to A!

Sorry 'guv, but I'm the kind who looks for exploitable niches in every ability. Only natural that I look for exploits in yours and point them out. ^_^

A kind of white-hat mechanics abuser, if you will.
and I do hope you continue doing so. After all, abilities are judged by their potential over in my roleplays

Eh, I suppose then it's only fair that I point out the lovely exploitable potential of my own ability.

Y'know ... when I create one ...

... one that isn't stupidly complex and overpowered ...

Iv no idea if my character is acceptable or op or how to do the rank and point system ............help me someone please!?

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Hetero

Race: Cyborg

Occupation: Researcher

Guild Affiliation: Mecha

!(Will eventually replace drawing when I make my own)!

Personality: (two paragraphs at least)
The Mechanist! Part man! Part machine! He is rather charismatic as well as sporadically serious. There are moments where he will crack jokes whether it's during an appropriate time or during an inappropriate time. He is rather friendly with everyone, as long as they don't annoy him that is. This courtesy extends to even adversaries and enemies alike, giving them the respect they are due only if they are worthy of his respect. Truth be told it's not hard to get on his good side, but that's a double edged sword as it can be fairly easy to get on his bad side as well. Making it difficult to earn his forgiveness and trust should you happen upon the wrong edge of that sword.
The man beneath the mask is actually kind and patient, but somewhat traumatized due to an accident that landed him where he is now.
The Mechanist is in reality a quadriplegic, advanced cybernetics being used to substitute his arms and legs at the pivotal points in his body as well as internal structures being synthetically replaced as well. This vast transformation has caused him to joke around as a coping mechanism to allow him to deal with the fact that he is no longer human but almost more machine at this point in his life. His state of mind is constantly on the brink of breaking down but is normally kept in check due to chemicals being distributed into his brain from his cybernetic spine.

Likes: (at least 3)
-Animals
-Tinkering with his droids
-Having tons of free time, at least a few hours a day
-He loves to cook
-Work on upgrading his own cybernetic body when he can
-Performing maintenance on himself to improve his capabilities.
-Recycling old Tech into something new

Dislikes: (at least 3)
-When any form of leadership can't think beyond themselves, those who put their personal gain before the welfare of others
-Those who are environmentally inconsiderate, those who litter, pollute, who don't use most parts of animal when it is killed for consumption
-Having to Replace a whole new chunk of his Hardware such as a new arm or his leg due to the amount of stress calibration would cause
-when his solar panels need replacing

-Being Shutdown permanently
-Trojan Viruses that could affect his software
-corrosive substances that could affect his hardware

Items:

Power Type: Special Tech

Racial Power: Tech

Power consists of wirelessly connecting to other devices or machinery to command them for basic functions. Such as controlling a tractor to make it move but not so much allow the use of its large shovel. That Would require he changes focus from moving to working mechanics. This causes a strain on his secondary power source.
Computers is a different level, hardware he has a harder time controlling but with software he can wirelessly access a computer and access files, access programs as well as the outside hardware that the software controls. His distance from the device limits his ability, the further it is the longer it will take for him to access the contents as well as maintain a connection. As to date he's only managed to access his personal computer from two rooms away, about 40-50 feet with two 2 foot walls separating the rooms.
His power is also limited by the physical properties of any barriers that happen to impede his "signal," concrete is near to impossible for him to signal through while drywall or sheet rock poses now problem. Really the density and molecular composition of the barrier is the main driver/force that affects the signal strength.

D rank area of effect
C rank fundamental control
D rank sustainability
D rank weakness

4+4+6-1= 12

E rank ability, so 55 points for stats

Mana Costs:
-30 Ball bearings on his person (can either be bought, scavenged, or forged)

Does not connect to his personal internal life support systems that has kept him alive the whole time.

Stats:

-Racial Power-Mechanic and engineer: Being proficient with machines Renellius is capable of building machines and devices as well as programming them with a VI based off of his own brain scan. These machines include but are not limited: small devices such as a simple phone, or a droid.

-Scavenging: tier 2

Relationships: N/A

Theme Song: (optional)

-An exterior Exo skeleton worn over his cybernetics as well as his organic body. His helmet which allows him to control his robotic creations wirelessly with psychokinetic thoughts due to the software in his brain. Helmet is plugged into his spine to via GFCI protected ports to allow use of internal life support systems energy. Not much is utilized due to ballistic glass cased solar panels atop the helmets dorsal surface. Exo servos consist of micro turbines meant to charge an alternator placed on the suit's dorsal area. The energy is dispersed evenly through specifically positioned diodes within the suit.

-A small side arm that utilizes electrical currents to accelerate a small ball bearing out of the barrel. (Requires to be manually recharged through a friction crank system located beneath the barrel. Ammunition can either be found in junk yards as ball bearings are used in every day appliances such as an office chair or needs to be forged at home forge)

Occupation: Hero
Race: Wood Elf
Occupation: Hero
Guild Affliation: Magic Guild
Appearance: View attachment 291417
Personality: Naturally, as an elf, he is somewhat smug. No he is smug. He considers his own life above that over a normal humans. Power is a important part of how he treats people. Hence those with greater or equal power to his own are the only people he can respect. Because of his age, he exceedingly cynical toward other people.

Fears: Being powerless, losing people important to him.
Items: A magical pendant that can recharge his magic to 50%, elfish tight fitting clothing,
Power Type: Magic
Power: Nature magic capable of summoning creatures of the forest or using plants of different sorts to attack and defend. His main uses of his powers are something to do with summoning whether plants or forest animal art from that, his natural sensitivity to nature allows him to bend all non-sentient living creatures to his will. His summons however are always subservient to his will. He must completely dominate and mark a creature to add it to his ranks however. His strongest summon is a small sized feral dragon, he captured and trained. However he can summon whatever plant he chooses as long as his power sustains.

This telepathic power over animals allows him to also to contact any sentient creature. However, the limit of his skill is to carefully implant ideas into their heads. This is supremely limited and his touch must be extremely gentle.
Stats:

-that item is not allowed due to it´s combat use

-the personality needs expansion, it doesn´t meet the minimums on the CS

-in fact, you didn´t look at the updated CS at all, it would seem...

-You disregarded the ranking system. You can´t rank your own things, an you can´t add stats before I rank your power, if it is that the power passes at all.

-you have tier 1 skills without having their respective tier 0 and filling slots that cannot be filled with tier 1 skills

-your image violates the rules regarding the appearance section that were there from the beggining

A rank sustainability
OP rank adaptability
D rank destructive potential
D rank defense
A rank increment capacity
OP rank fundamental control
A rank area of effect

the two OP ranks need to be downgraded

taking their points as A ranks, your power would total
10+10+4+4+10+10+10= 58 , 28 points above the maximum
