Kendra's attention flickered toward the human once more as Zera spoke. She felt kind of bad for the poor little guy - she still figured he was a typical, powerless mortal, fully unaware of his strength. Appreciative of his actions even though she assumed they were futile, Kendra stepped toward the man protectively, hissing at the nearby beasts. "Aw, c'mon, monster lady, leave the human out of this," She sighed, raising her head to glare at Zera. "Oh, and, uh, what exactly do you mean, I chose to die? If anyone's dying, it's your greedy little pets. Now, come on, let's get this done so we can all go home and sleep or some shit," Kendra growled, rattling her wings.

I considered her words, but all that was in my mind was protecting her, I won't let her die. I lost her once already, not again...Looking behind me, I saw my sister trembling in fear, and as I looked back forward all I saw were the creatures that surrounded her. That took her away from me. "I...will...protect" I spoke softly, I felt something go down my fast, as reached down onto my lips, it tasted salty. Looking at the woman, I clenched my hands around the scythe, "Don't take her from me". I roared loudly, the aura around the edge of the scythe was now shining, visible for all to see its bright red edge.

I found myself near my old house, looking up towards the sky. Letting the sun's embracing warmth cover me whole. Closing my eyes, I heard her. "Time to get up sleepy head!" She yelled from afar. Opening my eyes I look to my right and see my sister...I see Tera. Standing up quickly, I waved to her and yelled back "I'll be right over". With every step, the sky was growing darker, and darker. By the time I reached our house it was pitch black. It was then I heard a scream. Running onto the main road, everything changed. I saw my parents and my sister all outside. Father was being beaten by three men, but they were furry. I was too scared to yell, to stop the men, I just stood frozen. After a while father didn't move. "Stop, please stop" no matter how much I spoke, my voice was too soft. Then it was mother, they brought her near father and did the same thing. "Please..." I couldn't speak any more. Looking up I saw them grab her. "Why am I so weak, please give me power to stop them." I begged. I dropped to my knees. I heard every hit, each one breaking me, breaking who I was. Then I heard a voice, "Brother, please help..." As I looked up, her pleading eyes looked right at me. A look of betrayal, At this moment, I stood up, It wasn't me any more. Then I heard one more voice, "I'll give you the power you seek...on one condition" I blinked and found myself in front of a rusty scythe. With no speaker and looked around. " You must give up your life to take others, you will become my servant.... and in return you will receive the power you seek" It spoke slowly, and deliberately. I quickly nodded, "help me, stop them." I whispered..."and I'll be your champion for eternity" With this the contract was sealed and the scythe giggled, "good, NOW KILL" It yelled. A darkness, shrouded me, though I felt tension at the edge of the blade, I felt my own movement, but I was no longer in control. When I regained control, all the men were dead, though I was too late. To late to save her.

Zera's start turned cold and vicious as she spoke to the human. And why do you care so much for this dragon hmmm? Your a red hood you hunt beings like her and me for sport and fun!" She hissed at him as her body glowed sinister purple. "If you wish to protect her so much tell her to stand down." Zera growled viciously at the human before looking to the dragon. "I gave you the choice to stand down and talk this over with me. You chose a fight so therefore you chose death. But seeing as this red hood wishes so much to protect you I'll give you one. Last. Chance." She growled at the two. She was getting sick and tired of standing around here and wanted this situation to either end in an agreement or end in blood and her monsters feasting on flesh

"Names?" Marius coughed and sputtered as he choked on his tea. "Erm...I do like the sound of Luna, for a girl, it is very pretty. I think it should be up to you though as well..I er. Am only playing the role of adoptive father now. " He looked away nervously as he took another sip of tea. "Thank you but I am sure we can find a pack to help deliver them...we still have a few weeks. I think? It's uh...she certainly knows better than me." He shrugged. "As far as things to eat I'm fine, had a roasted squirrel and she needs the food more than I do. I uh, do you have a wash room here? It would feel nice to freshen up a bit and splash cool water on my face." He tugged on the edges of his pauldrons.

Red's gaze flicked to Honus as he entered with the tea, a feline curiosity sparking in it. She didn't trust him as far as she could throw him but he was certainly the most resolute human she'd come into contact with. The two- him and the huntress- certainly had an interesting dynamic, one she would greatly enjoy sorting out and maybe dabbling in. As if affirming Honus's statement about her being a protector, Red's tail curled just a tad closer to Sylvia. After that motion, in true cat fashion, she settled down on the bed beside the huntress and after a quick glance to her "ward", adopted something close to a disinterested look.

At the comment Sylvia thought back, Red smirked inwardly. Humans never realized how literally contract beings were inclined to take things.
Good to hear. We can sort you out once he's out of the room. I would rather not do it in a witch's house, though... I could take the pain away long enough for you to stand and find somewhere quiet. Red rolled onto her back, letting out a yawn. Or we could have a little fun with magic. The demoness stretched, rolled back onto her paws, and brushed Sylvia with her tail again before hopping off the bed. After a light landing and a few paces, Red jumped up to land on the window sill of the room, regarding the spider sitting in its web beside the panes.

Hello there. The spider skittered into the shadows, leading Red to bow her head, bringing her nose close to it. No, no, don't worry. She recoiled as it sprang forward suddenly, landing on her nose. Going cross-eyed to look at it, Red scowled. Oh, you're upset because I took your dinner. Well. She sneezed the spider off, then shook her head rapidly before turning her gaze back to Syl.

A rather comical cat at that. It didn't exactly take a nice liking to him being there, but he didn't care. He was there for Syl, nothing more. She was so very broken, if only Honus knew. He decided that she could use someone to talk with, seeing as she couldn't possibly talk with a cat. "Syl, you know I would drive a stake right through that mutt's eyeball, but I can't bring myself to do it..... in this household with Harken guarding him. He used to be a Hood, you know. He got bitten out on a patrol, and I let him go, I let him live out his days as the creature he was."

Honus, placing a chair by her bedside, put her hand in his, not paying attention to the cat that much. "I should be mad, upset even that you are even here right now. You shouldn't be here, at least that's what I'm supposed to think. But I always thought that it would come to this. Syl, I can only say no, and with those dogs..... if you take care of yourself I want to be more lenient that I've been. I don't want you to die, to get hurt, but I know how you feel. You can be a trainee under me."

The man had so much to say to her, so many expressions of concern, of affection, of care, but all he could do was contradict what he believed. "Syl, you're all I've got outside of the Hoods. My son and wife are so far away by this point. My own son is probably in his bed looking up at the ceiling, wondering when he's gonna get to see me again. Maybe the Hood my wife ran off with wasn't as disloyal as he was to the cause, and she's taken care of-" He realized he had talked too much. "Take care of yourself, y'hear?"

Ackara chuckled softly, smiling at Marius. "Well, if you're going to act like a father, why not be called one? I think you deserve a say in the matter. Unless you're too scared." She teased, sticking out her tongue slightly. It was easy to be around him, just calm and overall pleasant. She liked it. Honus however, even though she knew him from before, was harsh and stressful. No matter what happened, or what state they seemed to be in, he was a danger. "I think Charlie might be nice too... A-And no thank you ma'am... I had some food last night..."

"It's Harken dear, there's no need to call me ma'am," The witch said with a soft smile. "But are you sure? It's no trouble if either of you want anything." Geez, she really is a grandma. "Oh, FUCK!" Kendra yelped panickedly, leaping backwards as the human's scythe began to glow a bright red. "Holy shit, I've got a badass on my side!" She laughed, her fear shifting into pride and confidence. She didn't understand just how powerful Tykus was yet, of course, but she was beginning to realize he wasn't a typical mortal. She somewhat confused as to why he was protecting her, however - Zera was right. He seemed to be a member of the Red Hoods, and those assholes hated creatures like Kendra. It didn't make sense for him to protect her.

Maybe he just thinks Zera's monsters are a bigger threat than me and wants to take them out first, and once they're all dead, he'll just kill me.... She thought with a frown. Buuuuut he's helping me now, and I really need some backup to take these guys down, so... I'll just fly away if he tries to attack me, I guess. It's not like he can fly, haha... Wait, can he? Shit, I hope not. She scratched at her neck with her foreleg, deep in thought, before snapping back into reality as the demon lady speak. Kendra narrowed her eyes and let out a low growl at her words, shaking her head.

"No way am I surrendering now, bitch," The weredrak hissed at Zera, slinking forwards threateningly. "Especially not to the likes of you. So go on - send your pathetic pets after me. I can take em." Her eyes glowed with excitement and confidence as her terror slipped away. Adrenaline pumped through her veins as she glanced towards the human and flashed him a grin. "Hey, mystery man! Let's teach these sons of bitches a lesson, eh?" She cackled before leaping into the air, hovering above the field and blasting a ray of fire at Zera's monsters, making sure not to hit Tykus.

"I admit that I may be....children I am good with but if they are to be considered my own? It's, I don't know...we only just met again and this news was broken to me so give me a while to process it all...Charlie is a good name too. Could be for both a boy and a girl too." He shifted uncomfortably in the seat ."Ah, Harken is far easier than calling you witch and if you've worked for the Hoods it's far more polite." He took another sip of tea. "I suppose I should eat something more. More than a sad bit of meat and Ackara you are eating foooor two now? correct? You need as much nutrition as you can get."

Ragnarok raised an eyebrow, looking the beast up and down. "You're going to start a war?" He asked, his eyes setting a light blazing blue. He was slightly shocked, but also, he expected it. "Be careful . . . These humans are much stronger than they seem. And they outnumber us, by a lot"

He grabbed another apple, biting into it. He looked up at the wolf, "But, then again, I was fresh from the Void. Had no real control . . . You might just fare better than me Alpha." He stood up, nodding to him. "You just might . . ."

"I have yet to see any human match me yet. Whatever they may be like now, I can guarantee none will be able to take me on." His sharp smile widened. His chest puffed out in pride. "I do not intend on starting a war. Oh no, it will be a massacre. Those vermin won't stand a chance against me. We may suffer loss but under my influence it will be nothing compared to what they will witness. Towns will lay barren." A growl of excitement rumbled in his chest. The prospect of the carnage and blood excited him.

’Have a little fun with magic’? What do you mean by that?…”, Sylvia would question the cat, watching as the white fluffball would hop off the bed and onto the windowsill. She was focused on her feline friend, until Honus’ words ripped her attention away from the curious cat. He never was one to call her by her full name…but it always warmed her heart to hear it. Syl was the nickname her parents gave her…and it hadn’t been uttered in some time. She chuckles as the grizzly oldman mentioned staking the wolf in the eye, then her brow would furrow as he speaks of Harken and the ‘her house, her rules’ thing. “Witches…Why did the Hoods decide to trust them in the first place…Should have just kept them out of this…” Her lip would curl in disgust at the thought of that this Marius character was a Hood before a beast. “What a disgrace…” Syl would growl lowly.

Sylvia would jump a bit as Honus pulls a chair up to her bed and grips her hands, his eyes and words were soft…he was really concerned for her. Her head would hang, her face being covered by strands of her raven-hair. She had a smile on her face and was laughing silently, body shaking as Honus continued to speak. Once he was done she would look up at him with a smile and tears welled up in her eyes. “You’re a fool, old man…a big fool…” He just had to lay all these feelings and true thoughts on her now of all times. Sylvia shook her head and frustratingly wiped her eyes of the stupid tears she shed. “Honestly…If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be here right now…I’d be dead, or worse, one of them. I’m here…because of you, for my family.” Ever since her parents were killed by the brother-turned-wolf, Sylvia has been hunting him for years and she hasn’t seen hair or hide of him yet. “I’m here because he took everything from me…but by doing that, he gave me a new family…you.” Sylvia bit her lip hard, it was a thing she never said aloud, it was always something in her dreams – her and Honus together as a fucked-up hunter-family duo.

Gaze lighting with a bit of excitement, the cat replied silently, You know, nothing special. She brought a paw over her ears, grinning to the extent a cat could, Just a little shape-changing. How do you think I get around? Curling her tail over her own paws, she maintained her position at the window sill, falling quiet as Syl's attention turned. It sounded like the old man had more than a few frustrations in his life, frustrations she made note of to ponder in the future. As Honus came over, she analyzed the dynamic between the two. He truly cared about her, and she for him. What an interesting little family. Once she gained some semblance of trust, Red wondered if she'd be able to help set some things to rights- for a fee, of course, but it could work out nicely in the end for all parties involved.

What a lovely sharing session... do they not realize there might be something listening? That thought didn't reach the Huntress. Red kept it to herself, turning her gaze back to her spider companion, mulling over what had been shared by both sides now and how it all fit together. What do you think? The spider shuddered and clicked its forelegs together. Hm... Me too... She slid out a claw, putting it beside the spider, which hesitated before climbing on. The being held it close, somehow looking it in all eight eyes. I'm sorry for taking your dinner before. The spider hissed softly. What? She flicked an ear. I was hungry.

Putting the spider back, Red looked to Syl.
Don't get too carried away now... It's better to do these things while the stars are still out. I can't help you in the witch's house and I certainly can't help you with your dear friend around... She bowed her head, indicating that the huntress take her time- but hurry up a bit.

Ackara's stomach growled slightly and she sighed in defeat. "Uh, Harken, might I take you up on the offer of food?" She asked, looking down a bit. "And Marr, you don't have to do anything you don't want to..." Her smile widened. "But you might end up being old uncle Marius if push comes to shove." She giggled, taking a sip of her tea.

Ragnarok looked at the Alpha, not saying a word. He clapped his hangs together, "Bravo. But words like that might get you killed. Against an entire blood thirsty race, along with those god damn witches, you might have a chance. But it's still a small one, just a sliver. However . . . Why don't we assure that?'

Ragnarok stood up, slowly walking forward, as the strange paper appeared in front of him. The Demonic Greed mist flowing up, shaping, and hardening into a pen, and next to it a knife. His eyes shifted to a dark red, his demon side coming out as a large grin appeared across his face, his voice deepening and shifting to fit his demonic tone.

"Why don't we make a Deal?"

Those words meant truly a lot to Honus, being called family. He hadn't had a family of his own since his wife and child left him. He had had other members of his family come and go. His parents love him dearly, but they're old and live up North a ways. He visits every so often. He had another son that, when he was younger, he had by mistake. As it was custom to be married with a child, he had to give the kid away to a nice family some ways away. He had no siblings growing up, but he had a neighbor who tended to pick on him a lot. Perhaps that could explain his behavior. But not once did he lose someone to a werewolf, not once did he see his parents die or a little old lady torn to shreds. He just hadn't.

"We had to force them to fight, Syl. After I realized that we can't just throw human lives away and give them no chance to win, we had to have witches to give us an advantage. Magic is so powerful, but it came as a price. Harken does not like me one bit, I feel it. She loves the wolves more than the Hoods, surely. She one time called herself the 'warrior witch,' but all I see is a wicked one."

And it was dangerous enough knowing the wolves downstairs were ones that he knew. Marius, a turned boy too stupid or too not cut out for this world to make it, and he becomes a stigma to an officer of the Hoods. "Harken probably wants to deal with me, dear. I'll let you rest. I promise I'll be back soon," he said as he got up, "Syl, you're all I have left. When I fight and resist those mutts, I do it for you." And with that, he got up and began to walk out the door.

Lucius who had darted into the thick brush of the woods taking Ryann with him had finally felt they had rub a safe distance and he slowed down to a stop looking back and around them raisng his spear as he watched around the two. He let go of her hand and turned to her once he felt it was safe "We have to find the other hoods. Now. Do you have any information on where this sectors hq is from here?" He asked as he kept a watchful eye of the things around them

Honus would begin to leave the room and Sylvia would open her mouth to say something, but the words were caught in her throat and wouldn’t come out. His form passed the doorframe and soon his boots would be heard descending the stairs back to witch’s domain. Again, the huntress wipes the tears from her eyes, frustrated in her sudden show of emotions – she was always such a sap when it came to him. “Alright, let’s do this…“ Sylvia would move herself from her spot towards the edge of the bed. “If you tell anyone what you heard…I will kill you” Sylvia hated people having things over her, and this was a moment of weakness for her and Honus both and she inadvertently gave this…thing an inside look at them both.

The huntress pushed herself off the bed and onto her feet, she was in a rush to do this deal with the thing and get back to hunting. Even as she forced her body to walk she could feel the healing form earlier begin to unravel, her bones cracked and her muscles felt as if they were on fire – Sylvia of course bit her lip and kept going. She needed to find a way out without getting anyone’s attention so she of course approached the white cat on the sill, leaning against the wall next to the window as a crutch of sorts. “How do you propose I get out of here without breaking anything else…or without alarming Honus?…” she waited for a reply, painfully but she waited. There was no way she could manage to get down the stairs in her condition and any healing the cat would have done would work…but then there would be leaving the hut without alarming anyone.

Enough laughs seemed to be had as Honus descended the stairs slowly. He was weary, it seemed, and he hated having to leave his only part in this world. Tears seemed to well in his eyes as he went downstairs into the fray slowly, not wanting to show his emotion. He got rid of his tears quickly on his sleeve, easily passable as allergen-caused, and spotted the trio conversing still. The disgust on his soul emerged as the mention of pups came up again. It disturbed him how Marius could- nevermind. He must've been the father after all.

"She's resting comfortably, Harken," he said with a slightly hoarse voice, "but I think she wants to rest. Do you have any more of the tea? I'm afraid it's a bit drafty in your house." The man purposefully positioned himself as to not face the atrocities in the house, both former Hoods that paid the price. Though he knew nothing about the girl at all, he knew this kid all too well.

"Where has your daughter gone?" the male asked.

Red waited a few moments until Honus had left before hopping down from the window sill to stand in front of Syl as she approached the feline, her own tail flicking from side to side. She makes nothing of the huntress crying, respecting her human-ness. Good luck with that, honey. She flicks an ear. Kidding. Your secret is safe with me... Touching a gentle paw to Syl, the huntress would feel the pain evaporate in a creeping warmth, looking almost concerned. Take it easy... She turns and guides the Huntress to the window sill as that seems to be the destination, stealing a glance at the door before she replies.

It's a little magic that'll be fine... Humans are convincible enough. Red's gaze slipped past her to the bed and her crystal eyes flashed blue. An image faded into existence: Syl asleep under the blankets of the bed. After a few moments, the illusion set and shifted slightly as a sleeping human would, and Red bowed her head in a few moments of weariness from casting it. She stretched before looking back at the actual Sylvia. This may feel odd but just... ah. Sorry, it's been a while since I've done this, she admitted. Red nodded to the window and hopped back up, nudging it open with her nose. Reaching out a paw to touch Sylvia, she closed her eyes in concentration. The odd energy flows between the two in a moment of connection as the cat "speaks" again, her voice resonating with an ancient power. The huntress would feel a warm tingling, at first not unlike that of the minor healing. It would spread until it engulfed her whole body for a few moments, then suddenly... she would feel quite light- and small.

The tingling fades and Red picks up Sylvia, now a kitten the same colors as herself, by the scruff. She moves gently with her ward, nudging the window open further for the both of them to fit out. Once into the night, Red launches herself from the cabin ledge, dissolving mid-air into a flurry of ravens, each somehow coordinating the carry the kitten-huntress. They soar low over the trees until they're a good distance from the cabin, at which point the ravens of Red carry them downward to the forest floor into a small clearing of moss and old stones. By the looks of it, a shrine used to stand here, long since reclaimed by nature. Once let down, Red re-forms into the white cat and she touches a paw to Sylvia's fluffy head.
Sylvia Aldrich, I release you from this spell.

Red turns and goes to sit atop one of the still-standing stone pillars, running a paw over her ears to remove excess ash that remained from her burst into a flock of birds. At this point, Sylvia would feel the tingling again and in a dim flash of magic, return to her normal self, sitting on the moss and stone. Red regards her with a cool, blue as ever gaze.

"Now that we're out of there, lay it on me... I can help if you will it..." Red bows her head. "What does the Huntress Aldrich will?"

"Old? I'm hardly older than you and you would have them call me old uncle if it came to that?" A soft chuckle escaped his lips. "Sorry to say but I may stick to uncle...it's uh. It's been years but still feels too soon you know? Since Lexi...I wish it could be different and I could give you more but.." He had a hard time swallowing his tea after merely saying her name. "The scars are still deep and painful even after all this time..."
He glanced in the direction of the hunter when he came back downstairs. "Good to hear your companion is doing better. She did not look to be in a good state last we saw her." He spoke softly to Honus, not bothering to turn around to speak to him though. His back ached too much for that. "If you do not mind Harken...may I get out of these uncomfortable pieces of armor? Honus decided to address the dog personally, after hoping to keep himself away from him. "Your paldrons, you wear them as if you cared at all," Honus didn't turn towards him, but merely kept his glance away, "and as for Syl, for who might I add is injured gravely because of your kind, she tells me that I should gut you." Honus now turned to face the dog, to which he revealed his slightly reddened eyes. He wore the same type of armor he did, albeit a little heavier and cleaner. Marius still wore his recruitment gear. "I lost one of my own today. A good boy, Rhykad his name was. He told me that he feared death, that he feared what happens when your last fading memory is getting torn into. And I promised that boy that he would make it out of here. That he would go home and meet his wife and they'd live far away from this mess."

Honus was quiet for a moment as he vented, yet again, to Marius. "And you're going to be a father now, it looks. You found yourself a girl and now, some thing depends on you for guidance. Thank the fucking stars above for that one." How unfair it was to him that he had to be the one with no love of his own. He had done all that was asked of him, and nothing, not one sign from the stars.

"I wear these for comfort. Something familiar and an old sense of welcoming no matter where I may be. And I am sorry for what happened, the injury and your loss, but I played no part in it and neither did my L...my dear Ackara. I can sympathize with your pain and his...being on the brink of death, that utter darkness and nothingness is horrifying. It's cold and lonely."
He gulped. His foot tapping anxiously against the leg of the chair. "Honus. They are not mine..." He responded timidly "They are some other wolf's, but I will take care of them and her. I don't see her as truly my mate at the moment for other reasons but that doesn't mean I cannot do all I can for now. I don't mean to be harsh...only need my time to grieve still. You may not care, but wolves. We are loyal to our kind and bond for life. To lose one you love...and an entire pack, your family..and for some of us more than once. I don't think you could ever understand that pain."

The sensation was unlike anything she had felt before, it filled her with more shock and awe than fear. The tiny white kitten would mew as the burst of birds took their turn carrying the tiny white fluff to their destination. The fragile animal would soon return to its true form and yet the magical being would still remain as a cat. Syl would look up to her and furrow her brow. "Yet through all this...you choose to remain as a cat..." shook her head and cast her gaze to the sky, she needed to hurry before Honus returned to check on her. The being knew her name...knew a name that she hadn't heard once. The huntress strived to push that fact from her mind but an uncomfort settled inside of her stomach as she approaches the cat.

"I want my body healed...It's battered and broken and were it not for you, I doubt that I would have survived the night..." Sylvia would look down at her body as she was standing before the demon without a single pain in her body – for now anyway. "Whatever it costs, please! I don't want to have to wait for my body to heal...I need to get back in action, the Hoods need me, Honus needs me!" Though it was a selfish request to have her body healed, she wasn't about to let him fight the wolves alone and potentially leave her alone and seething with more hatred for the dogs.

Oh did that statement make him livid. "Oh I know nothing about losing the one I love? i put my son up with a family in Raskville because I was "too young." I know nothing? My wife left me and ran off with my second son. I know nothing? I have to explain to parents every day of my life that their son died for a cause that he believed in. I know nothing? And am I still here, after all that, committed and loyal to the Hoods? Do I know nothing?!" Honus nearly ended the dog's life, but he knew he couldn't. He didn't care for his feelings however. "You think that just because you say you're peaceful, and that you would never harm a human makes you invincible to justice, then you are wrong. Because your kind has done the same to us, and so for you to DARE and try to think of yourself as anything better than you really are..."

He trailed off, feeling his message had been sent sternly. He needed to calm down some, or else Harken'd intervene and kick him out. "If I don't understand you, what you are, what you believe, you don't know shit about me, Marius."
