Chitchat Let's chat!

I’m schizophrenic so I naturally see and hear things that aren’t really there. And sometimes my brain tricks me into feeling them too! Odd I know. Bare with me here.

One night I was sleeping and this was when it was more than just me and my dad living here. There was 3 other people who stayed in the house. One of them being my dads at the time girlfriend and the other 2 was that girlfriends daughter and daughters husband.

I woke up with the eerie feeling of being watched and looked to the end corner of my bed where I felt it and clear as day I saw a man watching me at the end of the bed before he fades just as quickly as I spotted him. He turned away as he was fading.

I was scared at first but then thought. Maybe it’s my schizophrenia acting up in the middle of the night. So I went back to bed.

But by the morning when I woke up…. Something compelled me to say something. So I went out on the front porch where everyone was and sat down telling them I saw a man staring at me from the end of my bed.

They asked me to describe him. So I did. Short hair. Not skinny but not too heavy either. Short sleeve shirt. And my dad and his at the time girlfriend turned to look at eachother.

Confused I watched them stare in awe a moment before she asked my dad “you know who that sounds like??” And my dad only nodded with a mhm. So she walked inside and went to go grab something. And came out with a picture I have never seen before. She’s never talked about this man in the picture either.

She asked me “is this who you saw?” And I said “ya” and she said “that’s my grandpa he died when I was 16” keep in mind she’s over 50 years old this was dons ago and then she said “I never leave this picture out I hide it in my closet and I never tell people about my grandpa cuz many people see him”

And to this day I believe in ghost cuz I saw one
Well, that is certainly interesting to say the least!

Good afternoon.

Sorry for popping in so late! Our water was shut off for most of today (apartment construction), so I decided to sleep through it. I'm here now.

Hi, Sorin! :D It's nice to meet you. You seem pretty cool so I'd love to chat; I've been wanting to chat a bit more on these forums anyway, and this thread seems like a really nice place to hang out.

As for spirits, I'm not sure if I believe in them, but I also don't disbelieve in them. I feel like they could exist, but I think it's also difficult to pinpoint what they are if they do. The idea fascinates me, though, and I definitely want to believe that something persists after death...

But that's a bit heavy, so to bounce back a couple days: A roleplay I really want to write right now is something post-canon for the game Balan Wonderworld! It's a video game that did not have the best reception when it came out a couple years ago, and a good number of the complaints were legitimate. But I don't know, I actually really like it. I got a copy for under $8, so that's probably at least part of why I'm a lot less hard on it than the people who got it for $40-65, but a lot about it is fun and relaxing to me, despite its imperfections. And I actually like the weird almost-no-dialogue way it presents its story. (And honestly, I like the story as presented in the game, with all its limitations, to the one put forward in the tie-in novel, which is rough because I feel like a lot of the people who actually are fans like the novel story way more...)

But I'd love to do something set after all the "Inhabitants" come out of Wonderworld, especially given the credits sequence showing that some of them were from, like, a full decade prior to some others? So some situation where, whether it's been ten years or less than a year, some chance meetings get them to start searching each other out, and all twelve of them wind up with the goal of a)finding Leo and Emma as the Final Two and b)finding the Wonderworld theater so they can see Balan again. With maybe a side-plot following Balan and Lance. I'd love this for a 1x1 frankly, even if it meant we'd both be playing like 8 characters, but I'd be open to a group thing too, I just... want to play in this world. And it'd be a bonus if I could find someone interested in my Weird Ships, too!
Welcome to the thread! I'm glad that folks seem to have the impression of me that I'm cool. This thread has gone a lot longer than I expected! I'm familiar with Balan's Wonderland after I watched Alpharad play it, but I really don't remember too much about it. I get the sense that this may be a niche fandom, so I'm curious, have you had any luck finding anything thus far?
I think I saw my grandma and she’s probs haunts my house.
I hope that she's a benevolent spirit! Does Islam support belief in spirits? I'm not super familiar with it, but of the religions I AM familiar with, it's neither here nor there about it.

Oh, that's a good question. You see, I'm not all too sure. I did explore a weird, creepy, burnt-down house which had some intact belongings inside. By intact, I mean they were pristine, unopened things made in the 1980/90s, and my bout of exploration was when I was but a wee Valky at some maybe ten years of age around '07. Lil' me could swear feeling some sort of presence, but in hindsight the whole place was just very weird and I've no idea how I had the moxie to do that. Not only was it extremely dangerous (due to the place being burnt to a crisp), but it was also very spooky.
I used to live in a house like this, but it wasn't burnt down. It was condemned like a year after I moved away. I think living there is what made me believe.

Yea we do as matter of fact they’re known as djinn.

Oh, I can't blame you on that one! Has anyone reached out for your 1x1 search?
They look like genies
You could still write something with them. Mythology is always fun!

I need to use this channel to vent. Don't mind me.
I'm having a bit of a rough day. I've been searching for jobs since January, minimal wage and retail jobs, but I just can't find anything. I don't know what's wrong. I have years and years of experience, I have open availability at the moment, I'm punctual and formal for interviews, I always have questions at the ready. I had an interview last week that I felt went really well, but I just got an email back that they went ahead with a different candidate anyway. It's been like this for months. I've burnt through most of my savings and am racking up a fair amount of credit card debt now because I just can't find anything. Many companies won't even give me the time of day for an interview or ghost me outright. It's really frustrating, but it's somehow not what is giving me the most anxiety today. That prize goes to one of my hobbies: fighting games.

I play fighting games somewhat competitively and I like to think that I'm fairly good at them. Back when I first started out, though, I had a really hard time keeping my temper under control and was quite mean to anyone who'd give me a hard time about winning against them. I've gotten more patient over the years, mostly through measures like going for runs or journaling, and I've mostly made friends or at least peace with the people that I've upset in the past. One of which has since become a very good friend of mine who has come to me to discuss their recently discovered queerness. The problem is that they have a friend who doesn't like me very much. Apparently we have bad blood, which I honestly don't remember, but I won't deny the possibility. I've apologized to them and followed their request, which is to leave them be, but they apparently removed my friend last night and told them they want to go separate ways from them. My friend is now pretty bummed and I can't help but feel a little responsible. And, although I feel bad about it, I actually don't like this person now because I went back in some logs and found out that they have a knack for insulting minors despite having been an adult themselves at the time. The problem is that the community for this fighting game is quite small and now that they know my old username, they've begun to spread it, and people have started using it against me almost like it's an insult. So, that's. . Fun. I know this is a silly thing to be upset about, this is just my way of blowing off steam during a time of frustration already, so I'm beginning to feel like there's nowhere that I can just relax anymore. Maybe I'll just stick to single player games going forward.

Also, my neighbors are blasting their music again and I can hear it over my headphones, ugh.

I understand. I been getting bullied by an admin of one of my favorite games. And now I can’t even play in peace.

As for the job thing. All I can say is go for any and all jobs and just keep trying. Someone is bound to hire you! Hopefully. Just keep hope! Spend as little as you can. Don’t buy games or un-needed stuff. Just the necessity! It’ll help with the debt in the future to lesson the blow.

Even if this isn’t what you wanted to hear I hope it helps a little!

We’re here for you

Wow, this (for some reason) reminds me of the Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil game. Same sort of vibe! I hope you find what you're looking for, though!
I've haven't heard much about the Klonoa games, but what I have heard is really cool; I might need to check them out! Balan Wonderworld was made by the same guy, Yuji Naka, who made the NiGHTS into dreams... games, and they have a very similar feeling to me. Thank you for the well-wishes, I hope so too! :closed eyes open smile:

(Also, that story of you exploring a burned down house when you were ten -- eep! I'm not sure I'd have the courage to explore a spooky abandoned place as an adult, so I'm definitely impressed by kid!you's moxie.)

Welcome to the thread! I'm glad that folks seem to have the impression of me that I'm cool. This thread has gone a lot longer than I expected! Thanks! And yeah, you definitely come across as cool in a friendly and engaging way. I'm glad your thread's had this much success so far! Ha ha, I watched the Alpharad video too, and was introduced to it via Choctopus's videos, and they did not like the game. It took me a long while to want to give it a try myself, but while I definitely understand their problems with it (particularly Choctopus, who paid the full $65 for the Switch version which kept freezing terribly... helping warn me away from the Switch version myself, yikes), there's a lot about it I've ended up really enjoying.

It's definitely a somewhat niche fandom, but a friend of mine is who got me to take a second look at it, and they play Balan! They're more interested in Balan and Lance than the Inhabitants themselves, for the most part, so I haven't had luck with that side of things so far, but I've also only been into it for a couple weeks, so I'm definitely going to be patient in that regard. :)

Also, good luck with the job search and good luck with your gaming situation. It's nice that you're allowing that that person might have a legitimate reason to not like you, and to be keeping your distance from them as they've asked, but their behavior sounds like it's been really unfair to you. There's no reason to issue ultimatums to mutual friends and smear your name around everywhere, and it sincerely makes me wonder what kind of person they are and/or what reasons they actually have for this. Either way, I really hope things get easier for you and your friend both! 🫂

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm not super familiar with Balan's Wonderland, admittedly, but I am fond of crossovers and I especially love to see what fandoms/characters are brought to them! Even if your hunt doesn't end up working out, there's probably a chance that you can introduce those characters into a crossover Roleplay, make players fall in love with them, and then get to play the game that way. It's a completely foolproof plan!

I have reason to suspect that they may be trying to antagonize me under a different account as well, but there's little evidence to back this claim and I'm not the type to point fingers without very good reason. I just hope that the situation resolves itself soon. They're a self-proclaimed alcoholic and have many red flags such as regularly removing my friend and blaming them for their outbursts, so I'm positive I know what kind of person they are. I just wish that my friend would realize that too and make the choice to distance themselves from it, but I think it may be a work in progress.

But enough of that.

Thank you all for reading my rant.

My vibe is a little melancholic today, but how are the rest of you doing?

(Also, that story of you exploring a burned down house when you were ten -- eep! I'm not sure I'd have the courage to explore a spooky abandoned place as an adult, so I'm definitely impressed by kid!you's moxie.)

Honestly?
I've no idea what lil me was thinking. Probably not a whole lot. I still live nearby, but it's since been renovated and people live there. Can't really just go in nowadays and be like "yeah I gotta check something real quick from over a decade ago haha"
Now, as an adult? Would I do it?
...

Maybe.
Depends on the company, if I'd go in with my friend like I did back in the day? Sign me up. Alone? MmmmmNAW!

On an unrelated note, have you guys ever heard of/played Barotrauma? I've been thinking about it lately because I really liked the setting.

Ah! By the way, Sorin Sorin I've done the character sheet!
Sort of. It still needs some things filled out, but they're trivial and will take 5-10 min when I hop to it.

I just wish that my friend would realize that too and make the choice to distance themselves from it, but I think it may be a work in progress.
Mistakes are costly and someone must pay, and we only really know the value of what we have the moment that we lose it. I wish you the best of luck!

I'm okay, I had some icecream, DBD matches were fun today and I got the Adept Skull Merchant achievement in one try against REALLY good survivors, and they were great sports about it too.

Some friends of mine play it, but I've never actually touched it myself.

What a beautiful character sheet. I take it that you're a mecha fan?

Sounds like a nice day! Do you ever stream your matches?

Not really! But the whole premise seemed so cool that I just had to try it out. It's my first time writing anything within the scope of the genre. I like exploring new things and giving them a fair shake. It's me taking steps outside of my comfort zone and just going for it!

Sounds like a nice day! Do you ever stream your matches?
Naw. I'll occasionally stream whatever it is that I'm doing to a friend on Discord, but stuff like Twitch has never been my thing.

How about you? Do you stream at all?
