"Well… it’s nice to meet you, Fushi," Cove said. There was this timidness in Cove’s voice that was unbefitting of his tall stature.

"Ah-" Cove stuttered at Mike, about to respond, yet before he could, the old man walk down one of the halls.

"Rude," Cove huffed, before turning to Fushi, "He doesn’t seem like the type for teamwork,"
Fushi had picked up on the slight timidness in Cove’s voice and gave the taller what he hoped was a reassuring smile, albeit a small one.

"Maybe he's just tired?" Fushi suggested. The immortal glanced the old man's way when he spoke to the two again after speaking to a horned blue lady.

"Take a step back and think about it. There is, what? A dozen of us, give or take? Do you know of complex it is to set something like this up? This wasn't some rinky-dink grab-and-go kidnapping job. This took time, and effort. Now, look where we're at. The rooms are friendly, and comfortable. There are no bars, and we can stroll about to our hearts' content. What does that say to you? 'Cuz what it says to me is that this was planned perfectly, no corners were cut. Whoever did this? The financial and logistical hoops they had to jump threw are unimaginable. Do you really think we can figure a way out anytime soon? "

Mike shook his head.

"We're going to need time. Running head first into danger like a bunch of Don Quixotes? I'm sorry, but I don't have any plans to run into any windmills anytime soon."

Turnning back to Coven, Mike turned back to him

Oh, don't worry, I'm a team player. I just don't have any plans to draft you to my team."

"Yes I am." Mike agreed bluntly. "And you're very blue and have horns. Look, I don't where you're from, or what you are, but talking to air isn't going to get us anywhere."

He had no idea who this Don was, but maybe they were an aquaintance to the old man?

"Well, whatever reason we're here it wouldn't hurt to at least look around. If there was a way in then surely there's a way out, even if it would take time to find it." Fushi replied. Time wasn't necessarily a problem for Fushi.

"Rude," Cove muttered again, huffing his cheeks out in anger. He’s taken back to old memories of that couple who rented out the condo next to his house. The ones that yelled at anyone younger than the age of 45 for breathing the wrong way. Cove wonders if Mike’s related to them.

Cove turned to Fushi.

"Well, we can investigate over there, I think," he says, pointing to the door on the other end of the hallway, the one that says "Laboratory Cafeteria". Cove wore his emotions on his sleeve, and it was very clear to literally anyone that Cove was trying to avoid a confrontation with this Mike guy.

"A-Ahaha, I see..." Rixia could only let out a weak laugh, unable to deny that the blue woman's energy was a bit infectious, and if nothing else, it contrasted well against the other man that had approached the two of them, an older gentleman with a serious yet wry complexion. She couldn't claim to have much hope that this Fjord would be showing up to save the woman any time soon, but she'd keep that part to herself. If nothing else, it was good to let oneself hope.

Still feeling a bit disoriented from waking up in such an unfamiliar setting, where everyone seemed as equally dazed and confused as she was, Rixia was fine with taking some more time to collect her thoughts before trying to gather everyone together and figure out the how and why in regards to their predicament, though she kept the old man's words in mind when she'd spoken to the green-haired boy earlier. Indeed, this had to have been done with deliberate intent, but for what purpose?

Letting the other two continue with their banter, the young woman eventually took notice of her room neighbor, a young man with a flashy outfit to say the least. In all honesty, if the stars were aligned ever so differently, Rixia might have found such an appearance gaudy, but her experience working at the Arc en Ciel theater had definitely opened her mind in a myriad of ways, enough for her to feel comfortable enough to approach him on her whim.

"Excuse me, um, are you an entertainer as well by any chance?" She braved to ask Cater, realizing that she was still unused to breaking the ice with people even after all this time. "I-I'm a dancer for a theater troupe, so you reminded me a bit of my... old friends," Rixia said with a soft, cordial chuckle. Of course, Rixia wasn't one to toot her own horn, but she wondered, if this person was also from Crossbell like she was, would he really be so slow to recognize who she was, even when she wasn't in costume? Though, of course, keeping a low profile was probably for the best either way.

"I don't suppose you'd have any clue about how we got here, or who brought us here and why? I mean, what would anyone possibly want from a pair of performers like us?" She said in a lightly jocular manner, as if to keep her own spirits up more than anything, going forward with her assumption of Cater's profession as she went along.

It wasn’t long before someone made their way to approach Cater. It was a girl seemingly around Cater’s age with lilac hair and eyes to match. He pushed off the door he was leaning on and straightened himself up to greet her. 3A3E7201-F291-4B87-9A0C-5FA8B42CF0A8.png

"Excuse me, um, are you an entertainer as well by any chance?"

Cater was certainly taken aback by this assumption at first, but as he glanced down to his extravagant dorm uniform, he quickly realized how that assumption could be made. He never really thought too much about the dorm uniforms. After all, it was standard for all the dorms at Night Raven College. It was only natural the uniforms would be a little gaudy, since they were representative of the equally expressive Great Seven.

"I-I'm a dancer for a theater troupe, so you reminded me a bit of my... old friends," A dancer, huh? Cater dabbled in a lot of things. Jack of all trades, master of none as they say. It was safe to say he did have some experience in dance, but he wasn’t classically trained or anything. If he were to be considered and entertainer, his skill was more in the music department. But he wouldn’t go on stage in his dorm uniform, that’s for sure.

The girl seemed friendly, albeit a little shy. Cater appreciated the attempt to talk to him despite that and decided to carry the conversation from here. He threw on a smile to comfort the girl and waited for her to finish her next thought. "I don't suppose you'd have any clue about how we got here, or who brought us here and why? I mean, what would anyone possibly want from a pair of performers like us?"

“Well first off I have no clue LOL. I’m just as in the dark as anyone else here I think. But looking around at the rest of the group…”

Cater glanced at the strange and eclectic group of people. He had a slight bit of a theory based on a certain new student who had appeared at school recently.

“I think we’re in another world entirely. I don’t suppose you’re also from Twisted Wonderland?” Cater had always been quite quick on the uptake, despite what his mannerisms and personality suggest.

He didn’t feel the need to wait for the answer. “And I’m not a performer btw. Well, I do perform music in a club but it’s not serious. This is just my dorm uniform for school. But I 822205CC-C192-4D93-9294-782FB7EE2CBF.pngguess that’s a ‘my world’ thing LOL.”

[ Kagerou ]

Time passes, and the puppet grew restless over being stuck within one room. This mundane stagnancy was going to be the end of him. It was already obvious that the door separating him from the outside world wasn't going to be opened via force, but his patience was running thin as the seconds went by. He didn't care if it was not going to work, intending to try and kick the door open for gods know how many times at this point. Hells, he even tried amplifying the force of his kicks earlier with his Anemo Vision, but even that didn't work. Maybe, just maybe.

Click!

Kagerou stood dumbfounded as... he was apparently freed from the confines of this plain room. Just like that. Blinking a few times to make sure he wasn't simply hallucinating this, he slowly walks past the open door frame and into a much bigger open room. Unfortunately, it looked like he wasn't any closer to the vast outdoors, another interior confinement with more doors that were definitely locked.

And even worse, there were other people present. People who seem to be as lost as he was in terms of this trapped scenario. If this world would let him have his way, he would be miles away from these people and this unusual prison, and be on his way onto aimless wandering. But then again, this was completely foreign territory, and most definitely not Teyvat. He hated to internally admit it, but he would get himself more lost on his own. Then how would complete strangers who didn't know any better than he did help him out?

He hated every lick of this situation, but as he did swear to that Dendro Archon and to that Traveler, he would at least try to not do the same mistakes in his past life before taking the name of Kagerou.

There were a couple of the evidently confused people discussing the current issue they all collectively shared at the moment. Such a bothersome situation, he couldn't even bring himself to talk to the others that were in conversations. Then something of interest was caught by his ears.

Laboratory Cafeteria. Ignoring the rather strange naming for a room aside, Kagerou shared not a single word to anyone else and simply walked his way towards the strange set of doors. Besides, he just wanted to go back to his solo ventures, not make any friends and chat like the rest were doing. He might as well take the initiative here while the chance presented itself. Hopefully he goes unnoticed too. At least for now.

Fushi looked to where Cove pointed before nodding. Even if Fushi had trouble with certain emotions and feelings, he hlat least picked up on the fact that Cove didn't seem to want to be around Mike too long.

"Okay, let's start there." He had turned to lead the way to the oddly named room when someone else was on their way there first. His first assumption based on the other's clothes was that they were from Yanome. Yet the style was also slightly different than what he remembered.

Maybe they weren't from Yanome at all, who knew? Either way they didn't seem to be in the mood to talk as far as he could tell.

Fushi glanced to Cove briefly before heading to the Labratory Cafeteria.

"Laboratory Cafeteria" Cove said, walking up next to Fushi, "Do you think this could be an experiment? Like… this all a lab or something,"

Cove’s gaze also wandered over to Kagerou for a couple of brief moments before instantly darting away. His hat reminded him of his partner’s sister Liz, who spent the entirety of last summer wearing a wide sun hat, even though her hat was nowhere near as wide as this man’s. He almost started reminiscing about memories with her, like when they were eight and building sandcastles on the beach, but now was not the time to reminisce.

"I-I guess we should just… open the door and go in?" Cove said, rather quickly snapping himself out of his own head.

"hurrrrraaa"

The devil yawned as she stretched in a cat-like manner, slowly waking. Her eyes fluttered open, before closing as she hoped for more rest.

Then it dawned on her.

Her eyes shot open. This was not her home, nor her room. Confused, she slipped out of the unfamiliar bed, her bare feet touching the cold floor. Her eyes scanned the room, seeing her hoodie, other clothing, and shoes neatly put in an open closet.

"Top-knot, did you do this shit?!" Power shouted. There was no response from Aki.

"Denji!?" she shouted. Only silence followed. She then turned her attention to the door, scrambling in an attempt to open it, but to no avail.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN HOLD THE MIGHTY BLOOD DEVIL? WELL, TAKE THIS!!" the devil roared as she conjured her blood into two knives and struck the door.

"Hah! See, no match for me," she muttered with a smug smile, dissipating the blood weapons. She then threw the door open- so hard that the door smacked the wall. "O-Oh, um, huh."

Rixia hardly expected the young man to speak in such a spirited manner, given their circumstances, but then again, maybe she should start getting used to these sorts of lively personalities, between him and that blue-skinned woman. He certainly had a strange manner of talking, seeming to say letters aloud for whatever reason, but Rixia figured she was still able to get the basic gist of what he was saying.

"N-No, I don't..." She began to say when he presumed she wasn't from some place called... Twisted Wonderland? Until he went on without waiting for her to answer. She'd certainly never heard of a troupe like that before, so it couldn't have been based in Crossbell, but as he spoke more, she began to imagine she might have had the wrong idea about him, harmless as the misunderstanding would have been anyway.

"Dorm uniform? Your... world?" Rixia could only dimly repeat against the boy's eccentric words. Well, if nothing else, he was as lively as he looked. She had to wonder what all he meant though, but decided to push all that aside for now once she realized she'd forgotten one important thing. "Oh, how rude of me, I almost forgot!" She exclaimed, formally folding her arms behind her back. "My name's... Rixia. Rixia Mao," she finally introduced herself, seeming to hesitate for a moment as she did, finally accepting that her status as a local celebrity seemed to hold little weight here. That would probably make everything smoother, at least.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, though I wish it were under different circumstances, mister...?"

While the words laboratory cafeteria were odd, the white haired boy stared blankly at Cove for a moment, letting the words the taller male said register. Then he blinked.

"What's a lab?" Fushi asked, before his attention was taken by the sound of someone running their way. Gently reaching for Cove's arm, Fushi tried to pull the other out of Power's way so that neither one would possibly get trampled by the devil.

Nian pouted, crossing her arms as she waited... And waited... And... Aha!

The silence was suddenly broken by a familiar clicking sound. At least now, she had the opportunity to get a better look at where exactly she ended up. Noticing she wasn't alone, she at first let the others start to get to know each other, as she began to get her bearings. Moving to try each and every door, she finally found one that seemed to work.

The 'Laboratory cafe'.

Noticing others had begun to head in, she grinned a little, noticing Kagerou seemed to have gotten ahead of the others.

Quickly, she joined him, flashing a fiendish grin.

codXePB.png

"Right then! If it's a laboratory, and a cafe? I'm making hotpot and nobody can stop me!" she declared.

Free spirited as she acted though, she was genuinely worried what such a place might have in store. While she hoped it would just have some insane, experimental seasonings, ontop of some unusual food, she couldn't help but wonder why they seemed to be more or less... Lead here.

It was no coincidence it was the only door, other than the ones to their 'rooms' that had opened thus far.

So if there was any danger awaiting them. She decided she'd prefer to act as a guinea pig.

Even if it meant making a weird first impression.

Great. Even when he was trying to avoid the masses, he was being followed by a few of them. Maybe going towards the only place of interest wasn't exactly the greatest way of staying away from others. Guess it couldn't be helped.

Overhearing side chatter about the concept of laboratories, Kagerou was one too familiar with the concept. In his memories, he recalled the unspeakable things that would take place in the laboratory belonging to the second Harbinger. He doubted that Dottore would be here, and he preferred it that he wasn't here at all.

Then came a rowdy girl barreling her way to the same destination of interest. Huh, another red oni? Was it common with those bearing red oni horns to be this obnoxiously loud? Another blessing in disguise that a particular red oni wasn't here to make things worse.

The wanderer gave Power room to go ahead of him, stepping aside without much other form of acknowledgement to her. Then came ANOTHER red horned oni, albeit this woman was wearing attire that gave off the aesthetics of Liyue. He didn't care all too well for Teyvat's vast cultures, but he was certain that Nian gave off the aura of an adeptus.

Worst part, she was actually indirectly addressing him.

"Knock yourself out." He dismissively mumbles at her suggestion for cooking hot pot in the rather suspicious location called a "laboratory cafeteria."

A vision of eternal sunset. A girl whose beauty couldn't belong to anything less than an angel, even despite the ragged and tattered garb that clung tightly to her form. A guillotine, nestled upon a hill near the shore, its blade glinting in the endless twilight. These were the staples of Marguerite's realm; a place that resided outside of reality itself, untouched by the flow of time and the duplicity of man alike. Her existence, cursed and forsaken from the very moment of her birth, followed not the laws of this world... for otherwise, how could one so long dead still go on, immortalized in a sanctuary so cruelly placed upon the very spot she'd met her demise?

But no longer did the girl with a voice like a siren's reside in the realm frozen in time.

Despite being comparable to what many of the mortal realm would consider a ghost, gentle breaths shook the girl's lips and chest, her delicate fingers gently clenching the sheets in which she was wrapped. Her mind felt hazy and dull, and she couldn't quite remember where she'd been before this or how she'd gotten here. Maybe she'd simply wiped out after all the exhausting events of recent and Ren had opted to tuck her into bed? But, then, now that she thought about it... where was that familiar warmth?

For reasons she couldn't discern, the simple act of opening her eyes took more effort than usual, as though her body subconsciously rejected the notion of awaking to her current circumstances. And yet, upon wrenching them open, a familiar expression of confusion overtook her feats.

"Where...- huh?"

Uncurling her fingers from the sheets, Marguerite drew her hand back to her chest as though she had just touched fire. Emerald eyes blinked in surprise, unsure as to what the strange sense of familiarity and dread that had briefly overtaken her was, but she was quick to dismiss it. She had bigger problems to face than anything her half-stone heart could conjure up. Like where on earth was Ren? And what was this unfamiliar, empty room?

"Ren...?" she tentatively called out, delicately climbing to her feet. Messy hair half obscured her vision as she surveyed the room, trying to decipher why it felt like she'd been here before when she knew this wasn't anything like Ren, Shirou, or Kasumi's bedrooms. Unable to determine any other reason for the strange sense of connection, she opted to brush it off entirely, feeling as though thinking about it too hard would bring her a headache. Rather, she meandered the room as quietly as she could, carefully searching for anything of import. She cautiously opened the dresser, inspecting its contents closely. To her relief, the furniture actually contained something familiar among its contents; uniforms. The same ones Ren and his friends wore. So maybe he was here after all? Surely that had to be the case.

Reassured by this development, if uneasy regarding the fact that he'd apparently left her alone, Marguerite carefully shut the drawers once more. If Ren wasn't here, she'd simply just... find him again. She could hear voices coming from the hall, imploring her to bolster her courage and venture out of this room. With a forced confidence to her stride despite the growing unease swirling within her chest, she went to open the door, her bare feet skeptically carrying her into the hall, where she meekly glanced over the crowd that had formed within it. She scanned it over, hoping to catch a glimpse of familiar blue hair, but... there was nothing. "Ah," she murmured, softly, taking an unintentional half-step back. She was unused to being around so many people, especially without Ren by her side, and a pang of fear and anxiety briefly struck her. But... she needed to find Ren. So despite her hesitance, she took a couple of steps into the hallway, interjecting upon the nearest conversation. "Hey--"

...And then the sound of a door being aggressively slammed open scared the poor, frightened girl out of her skin.

"K-k-k-kyahhhhh!!!"

Marie's eyes went wide as saucers as she frantically staggered backwards from the unexpected sound. She wound up falling flat on her behind, holding her arms up as though to shield herself from whatever had caused the bang. Fortunately for her, the chances of being attacked by a slammed door were actually pretty low, so she really could've stopped cowering at any moment and been fine. But, uh... she didn't.

...

Yeah, it didn't seem like she was moving from that position.

The previously mute woman quickly turned to look at the source of the sudden cry. She hurried over to help the girl up, offering one glassy hand. The former attorney's voice was soft, with a hint of a Scottish accent.

"Are you okay? That - looked like a nasty fall." A concerned frown crossed her face, but she also seemed a little confused at the fact that any words came out of her mouth at all.

Nico Robin, "Ultimate ???"

When the door had clicked, all the "Devil Child" had done was merely watch calmly, waiting for something else to happen. When she was absolutely sure it was open, she clicked the door open oh-so-slowly....

To discover quite a few people already outside, doors thrown open with wild abandon. It was quite the colorful cast outside, ranging from a boy with a rather large hat to what seemed to be an ordinary girl with purple hair.

Well, she was already used to being one of the oldest one among the group, given how most of them appeared to be rather long- after all, she chose to follow a 17-year-old knucklehead who tended to think with his stomach rather than brain. Hm. Now she was reminding herself that she was just at the tip of being 30.

All the more reason to find out who, or what was behind this.

------------------------------------

"Oh, hot pot? I don't believ- Really, now?"

The origin of the voice was revealed to be a taller woman, dressed in a dark blouse and pants who capped of the look with a... cowboy hat? The oddest thing about her was that almost nobody would have even seen her coming- it was as if she had popped out of nowhere. The newly open door however, debunked that particular thought. Shaking her head in mock disapproval, she turned to the others nearby.

"Now, my name is Robin. Nico Robin" Even as she smiled, she scanned their faces for any hint of recognition. After all, she was a pirate with tens of millions of a bounty. "I suppose we should be following our... well, for lack of a better word, acquaintance?"

Saying that, she casually walked into where the girl had already ran off to, the Laboratory.

Upon noticing the scar, his brows furrowed in quiet concern.

"Does it hurt?" He asked while letting go of Cove. It might have healed, but Fushi still found himself asking. The last thing he wanted was to cause unnecessary pain to another.

It seemed that more people were coming to the Laboratory Cafeteria, but he didn't mind.

Laboratory Cafeteria

The metal door slid open cleanly, revealing another brightly lit room with vacant white walls. It looked as one might expect a cafeteria, with simple rows of metal tables and stools lining the length of the room. As of right now, meals were placed at the table, enough for about sixteen people. They were nothing special, just trays with plain meals with white bread, ham and cheese, alongside small bowls of vegetable stew.

At the back of the cafeteria was a kitchen, with just about anything anyone could want from a kitchen. There was also a storage place stocked with food, though nothing very luxurious was placed inside. It looked like only plain and simple meals could be made here.

"K-k-k-kyahhhhh!!!"

Before he could finish his introduction, he was cut off by chaos across the hall and directly next door. Cater glanced around to discern where the bang had come from, but immediately gave up his search to instead assist the source of the other noise- the blond girl who was apparently his neighbor.

Cater turned right around. He couldn’t just ignore her when he was not more than a couple feet away, even if he was in the middle of something.

"Are you okay? That - looked like a nasty fall."

Another woman appeared to help as well. Maybe he wasn’t needed. In the interest of making friends, however, he decided to insert himself in the situation. It was only right he met his neighbor, after all.

Cater could tell the blond was quite startled, and probably a bit embarrassed. He did his best to calm her down. He bent down next to the blond girl. “My name’s Cater, but you can call me Cay-kun!” Cater threw up his signature peace sign. “And this girl behind me is my new friend Rixia.” Cater glanced between both unknown girls. “Can you tell me your names?”

The woman blinked, caught off guard by the sudden interaction but not upset in the slightest. "Who, me?" She said, pointing to herself. "I'm the- I mean, I'm Louise Worth. Or just Lou. It's nice to meet you - Cay-Kun," she said, the pronounciation a bit unfamiliar in her mouth.

Clementine could have been dead to the world as she stumbled out of her bedroom and wandered her way over to the cafeteria. She had been in something of a daze, her mind reeling at her present situation. None of the others really caught her eye, not until she found herself standing before the row of food laid out for them all to eat. She blinked at it all a few times and thought to herself how it was marginally better than her meals from the last couple months.

Her gaze then wandered as she took in the room and all those around her. A part of her mind was screaming, that this all was so incredibly weird and wrong. This was so far removed from what her life should be-- and yet, Clementine found herself at a measure of calm. There was something about all this that seemed familiar enough. She had a feeling of dread inside her but also knew that she should not be scared of what she did not immediately understand.

She leaned on her cane and moved to put a foot over the cafeteria stools, but found herself pausing to look at her feet.

On her missing leg, she had a prosthetic now, and it took her a long moment to remember where it had come from. She felt momentarily sick as a memory of Amos flashed through her mind, but then she was only left confused. She didn't have this prosthetic last time she did this, right?

Wait, what last time?

Blinking, Clementine dropped into the cafeteria seat. She stared at the food for a moment before deciding to just start eating away.

Nian grinned a little, winking towards Kagerou as she passed him by, only to stop briefly, at Robin's comment, and introduction... Oddly, not seeming too surprised over her appearance. As if she was simply used to seeing strange physiology like it.

"Why, using the kitchen of course! All I need is a pot... Some water... The right ingredients... And oooh! Lots of spices. That's how you make a real hotpot!" She declared, then paused for a moment as she remembered something.

"Oooh! Right. Call me Nian. I've had lots of titles where I come from... If you lived as long as I've had, it's bound to happen. But I've always liked 'Nian' the most! So feel free to stick to it!"

There was a beat as the door opened, and she realized not all her companions were equally talkative, to which she shrugged, immediately tilting her head at the somewhat meager food, before she had her mind made.

"Know what? Maybe some good food will warm us up to one another! Buuut, feel free to join me! I'm gonna make this hotpot thing work! Even if I have to improvise some spices myself!" She declared.

With that, she barged into the kitchen, and began to enact her plan... Finding a large stew pot as she began to fill it with water, some soup base... And as many tasty looking ingredients as she could muster.

There were spices, but nothing too extreme, much to her dismay... But she'd quickly make do, by adding as many spices as she could... Touching both her hands to the pot, as she concentrated, trying to heat up the contents even further. Putting her very heart and soul into her 'work', as if she were creating some legendary weapon, rather than her own personal blend of hot, soupy chaos.

In retrospect, maybe it was a stroke of luck, there weren't any strong spices to be found. For all one knew, with her cooking 'talent'... She'd have created an eye watering, nose tingling miasma that could have made its way into the cafeteria...

A long few moments of silence went by immediately following the slammed door, with Marguerite still apparently under the impression that her arms would shield her from whatever caused the loud noise. Her eyes remained squeezed shut as she trembled, but... her cowering diminished at the sound of voices far closer to her than the others, each unique in their own ways. It was enough to prompt her to nervously crack open one eye and peer around her hands to reassess the situation, and she was pleasantly surprised to find that nothing had exploded as she'd feared. Phew.

But... still. Who were these people standing over her?

Wordlessly, the blonde stared up at Louise and Cater alike, her hands slowly lowering away from her face. She appeared visibly confused by the approach and question regarding her wellbeing, as though it was an inquiry made in an entirely foreign language that she simply couldn't grasp. In fact, maybe that was exactly the case? It wouldn't be that surprising if, among a variety of beings from all different worlds, one or two among them simply didn't speak English. Eventually, though, it became apparent that this wasn't the case. Unfortunately, that didn't quite mean that Marie was offering the answers the newcomers wanted.

"Your voice," she finally murmured, her own soft as silk, "it's... strange." Not like she had room to talk, given her own notable French accent, but she simply couldn't help but notice the oddity. She'd never heard anyone with a voice like that. Yet despite that, in the back of her mind, it felt like she'd heard that exact voice before. It was incredibly confusing, and apparently, in her book, that was a more important issue than her own well-being- given that she she somehow managed to skip over Louise's query entirely. There was just too much going on in her head at the moment to process something so trivial as her physical health.

Admittedly, Cater's unorthodox approach only added to her already abundant confusion, and her head tilted to the side as she tried to process everything he had to say. Much like Louise(though in a different manner), the way he spoke was strange, yet familiar to her for reasons she couldn't place. In fact, it wasn't just his voice; something about the very essence of his soul brought her a sense of ease that no logic could expound. The sensation only confused her more, and she blinked several times in an effort to either process or dispel the strange occurrence, but she found it simply wouldn't go away. "...Cay-kun?" she eventually repeated, uncertainly testing the strange words on her lips as though they might hold the answer to whatever that indiscernible feeling was. But no clarity came, and the blonde went silent for a long time, seeming as though she were in a daze. When she finally spoke again, she became two for two on missing the questions directed her way, instead meekly offering one of her own. "Where... are we? Have you all seen Ren?"
