✿ Welcome! ✿

Welcome the village of Kore! Tucked away in the scenic countryside of Violet Meadows and at least an hour's drive to the next biggest town. A town that had quieted down over the years as the younger residents left for the city and only the older inhabitants remained. Recently however younger residents have been starting to gather there once more. Drawn in by the calm atmosphere and clean air in contrast to the city that alot of people had left for in the first place. With plenty of festivals and events going on all year around as well as an adventurers guild to join there is always something to do despite its out of the way location.

Summer 4th | Ocean Festival | Daytime

✿ Summer 4th (Ocean Festival) - Friday - 1:00pm - 22°C / 71.6°F - Sunny ✿

… Despite yet another yearly festival being in full swing in Kore, the usually lively Town Square was near empty even with the more than pleasant weather. Though, for anyone passing through the area they would see some festive looking flags and balloons leading them down the road to the beach, the location for the sunny summers day festivities.

It was here where the crowd was to gather for the day for the Ocean festival, a yearly celebration to welcome in the new summer season held by the town every year. Tables were lined up with plenty of food and drinks near the top of the beach and a large speaker setup was ready to supply music to the area. Midday had most either already at the beach or on their way there, with most adults stopping near the food tables a lot of the kids were already on their way to some of the activities set up further down the beach…

List of some Activities for the Ocean festival include:
- Music
- Food
- Mini RC boat race
- Sandcastle building contest
- Water Balloon fights
- Evening Fireworks Display (Post time-skip)

Just like every festival Evelyn had been awake from the crack of dawn to make sure everything was ready for the day. Getting some tables and decorations out of town hall storage as well as borrowing a table or two from the inn, taking them all down to the beach to get setup, checking in on those bringing food and setting up the sound system... As busy as she was at least some in town were more than kind to help her carry things and set up. Having Cleo tag along for the first part of the morning to help her remember everything had also been a big help but she had since sent her off to play with her friends, thinking it was unfair to have her little sister have to miss out on any fun. With the crowd finally starting to flow in and creating a decent amount of buzz in the area 1pm approaching it was time for the festival to start.

A platform was set up near the food tables with an included mic much smaller in size than the set up for the previous Flower Festival in the square, while the Ocean festival was normally a little less grand during the day that the Flower festival, it was just as fun and the fireworks show in the night surely made up for it every time. Stepping up to the platform she had grabbed the mic to welcome everyone, a job normally done by the mayor but with her father's current health it had become the norm for Evelyn to handle festival things and she was somewhat used to it at this point.

"Good Afternoon Everyone and Welcome to this years Ocean festival!" She started, hoping to grab everyone's attention before continuing "We hope you all have a wonderful time and get a chance to taste some of the nice treats provided by the local business' and cooking fanatics we have around here as usual. We are also hoping you all stick around for our fireworks display later as well as taking a turn at some of the activities and games provided. Remember winners for each of those will get a prize which will be announced this evening!" She announced with a bright smile towards the crowd. After a small pause she glanced towards a notebook she had next to her before continuing "I've also been told that we do have a birthday happening today" she squinted into the crowd to look for the birthday boy but to no avail. "If you spot our local librarian Thomas, wish him happy birthday!" she added with a small thumbs up "Hope you all enjoy yourselves today!" She finished off with a small bow as she stepped back from the mic. Giving a small nod to someone off behind the tables before stepping offstage, the speakers that were previously broadcasting Evie's voice was were now playing music for those attending to enjoy, signifying the start of the festival.

Now amongst the mixture of townsfolk and tourists gathering in the beach was the main organiser of the Festival herself had disappeared from the small platform, the young woman weaving through those that gathered in front of the food tables. Her gaze was fixed into the sparkly note book she was holding open in front of her as she walked. A large white fluffy dog now quietly following behind her. Just with every festival over the past while the dog affectionately dubbed "Mayor Bork" by the locals had arrived with the rest of Evelyn's family during her opening words and was now happily following his owner. His hope that someone would slip him some nice treats from the food table.

"...Music is working okay... food looks great... fireworks..." She looked up from her notebook as her amber gaze snapped in the direction of where said fireworks were to be set up for the evenings show "...Might double check those later..." she added quietly, her mumblings not really directed at anyone other than herself. Talking to herself like this had become a bit of a habit to help her remember things over the years. With a slight exhale she snapped the little notebook closed, the book making an audible slap as she did so before popping it into her bag. "I think everything is all good to go for now. Let's say we go enjoy ourselves now huh Bork?" She said with a smile, turning her head only to see that her fluffy assistant had already wandered off towards a group of children to get some attention and some cheese crackers. "Well then. Guess its only me."

With the the rest of the day off due to the Festival Amelia had made her way to the Beach around the same time the a small crowd was starting to gather up there. Despite arriving in Kore to live last summer she had just missed the Ocean Festival for that year so this was once again a first for her, at least in her adult years. Foggy memories from being a very young child seemed to spring to mind upon hearing about the holiday.

Going home to get changed and feed Georgie first, she had then arrived at the festival alone, mostly because as usual with festivals, Samuel had donated his free time for the day to help Evie with some preparations already along with some others and he was normally who would drag her along to these kinds of things. She felt it was a given if she didn't go he'd march straight back to the house and pull her into going if she didn't. That being said a year in this little village had for sure made her a slightly less weary about going to these events. She was much more familiar with the locals now after all, even if she still was that little bit awkward sometimes. So on this occasion it didn't take all that much convincing for her to agree to meet him there instead.

While Evie had been busy starting things off for the day and sending off some birthday wishes to Thomas (who was no doubt hiding from the attention somewhere), Amelia had been quietly admiring the efforts made with the decorations, it was always nice to see the effort people went to around town, it always made things seem all that more ...homely? She supposed that was a nice way to put it. Though it wasn't just the banners, ocean themed décor and pretty lights catching her attention the food provided had also caught her eye. With Amelia not spotting her cousin right away in the crowd and her now distracted attention, it was no big surprise to anyone aware of Amelia's sweet tooth that the young nurse had been slowly edging her way towards the food table, some sweet treats calling to her. Tiny little bite sized chocolate cakes to be exact. She'd search after she nabbed one or two...

20200511_015235-jpg.723449

Today being a festival day meant no school for Cleo or any of the children, so after being busy for a large section of the morning helping out her older sister with festival preparations (mostly making sure she didn't forget anything with her reputation of being forgetful) She ended up returning home and had mostly used the good weather to relax with Bork in the garden of her home and work on her drawings until whatever time it would be time for the actual Festival. Though with her older sister Priscilla visiting along with her kid, Cleo now had her toddler nephew demanding to play and that sort of quiet activity ended up rather short lived.

Once her Parents had called for her to tag along for the Ocean festival she had decided to stuff her sketchbook in her bag along with a few other things. She probably didn't need it, her friends were 100% going to be there to spend time with instead and the beach always had lots to do but, taking it along had become a bit of a habit after all, she could see something cool she'd like to draw. Relinquished from having to play the villain in Felix's game of space adventurer (or at least she assumed that the role she was given, judging by how may times a plastic toy space gun was pointed at her), she made her way down to the beach along with her parents, Priscilla and Felix.

She skipped the announcements when she got there, immediately splitting off from the rest of her family to go down to the shore instead, passing some of the activities that maybe she'd visit later on when she would find the other kids. Maybe. She assumed they'd be arriving to the festival if they weren't here already, they had mentioned it a bunch of times in school after all. For now though she was busy poking through the sand with a stick she found apparently on a mission, she had spotted some really pretty shells near the waters edge when helping Evie earlier in the morning and she really hoped they were still there...

Jack Star

Location: Ocean Festival
Activity: Helping/Waiting
Interaction: Available (Left note for Felicia Firelie Firelie )

Jack had spent All of his morning helping out at the Ocean Festival, He handles most of the heavy lifting cause he was probably the strongest man there. Though he did keep his distance towards the water, not that he can't enter it its just that he'd prefer not to. It wasn't difficult work, and after all was said and done it looked great. He wondered though, why does a town like this have so many festivals? He received a calendar when he first moved in and the amount of special holidays surprised him. Still it'd be nice to get out of the shop for days like these. He just hoped Felicia would appreciate the scene like he does. Speaking of that, he hoped she listened to the message he left. It should be beeping when she gets around to the kitchen.

Felicia when you hear this I'll already be helping some folks out today. I made your breakfast, it's the plate wrapped in Aluminum Foil on the stove. When you're done do some of the chores around the house and meet me down here at the Beach around 1pm. Bring your swimming gear if you want.

Today's Joke:
When I was a kid, my mother told me I could be anyone I wanted to be. Turns out, identity theft is a crime.

Jack hoped she would show up, so after the announcement he went to go sit down at one of those umbrella tables. He made sure to grab some drinks for the day and he waited there. The town was quite active, though he wasn't surprised. There wasn't too much to do in this small town, so they resorted to festivals like this to keep tourists coming in. Still he preferred this to the city, it was quite peaceful and that's what he definitely needed.

Well, this is already shaping up to be quite the day. First, there was the early morning rush at dream drop with the normal irregular crowd of people festivals tend to bring not to mention the amount of extra food that would have to be made after I wonder if Diego is still there cooking. Plus it didn't really help that today's theme was the little mermaid to go along with the ocean festival, never in her wildest dreams did she think she would be serving food while wearing a fin but Kanna made it happen, not her best work honestly they got swapped out for makeshift skirts after one too many little trips and accidents. And then after that mess of a workday, Emily would arrive back home to a package laying on her bed inside she would find a note from Hunter telling her to meet him at the beach for some mandatory fun. So here she is now sitting in the sand waiting for her older brother to find her while eating a small chocolate cake she grabbed off the table. Hopefully, no one saw her it's one thing to be seen by crowed of people but it's even more embarrassing to be seen in so little clothing. Is this really all people normally wear to the beach it covers so little, the bottom skirt looks like it was torn in half just enough to not expose anything and the jacket-like top can't even button up to hide her stomach. Where did Hunter even get such a thing I blame Alessa or Kanna this has to be one of their ideas. Emily had just finished taking the last few bites out of her cake when she heard the sound of someone approaching behind her. Siting up she wipes a bit of sand off her legs, she then turns around and faces him. "Um good afternoon HuntHunt." She had a light blush on her face along with some chocolate frosting to go with it.

"Good morning, Kore! I'm your Radio Newsman and DJ, Ash Rosenthal. Today's weather is twenty-two degrees Celsius with hardly a cloud in the sky. Today's birthday includes our lovely librarian, Thomas Pasquerella. If you see him today, please make sure to give him a happy birthday and rent a book from his establishment. Remember to return said book by the due date. We'll also be celebrating our Ocean Fest. For those who don't know about our yearly celebrations, our Ocean Festival is a fun time for our town. It includes music, food, a mini RC boat race, a contest for sandcastle building, and a water balloon fight. The evening will then conclude with a fireworks display, so please come by to witness this spectacular festival! Also as a surprise, my brother, Yehuda, has made his way all the way from our home city, [REDACTED], to move to our peaceful abode! Please make sure to say hello and don't be too put off from him, as he may be cutting your hair or giving you a tattoo or piercing in the future. Tom, I'm not sure what your favorite song is... but I'll play you a quiet soundtrack of smooth jazz."

tetoragif.gifanime.jpg
"You know, you look ridiculous."
"Ugh, I blame you if I get a sunburn."
"How? You're a short spot away from being a building."
The two Rosenthal brothers bickered with one another as they approached the beach party. Asher wore his typical black short swim trunks. Meanwhile his brother wore sunglasses, black shorts, a solid black Hawaiian shirt, and black sandals. While it would've looked somewhat normal, he also was carrying a parisol with him. Other than a few individuals, Yehuda actually only had a few experiences with the other citizens of the town. Perhaps Yehuda should've moved in closer to Fall or Winter, but his brother somehow convinced him to move a couple of weeks ago. As the two made their way towards the small crowd that had formed on the beach, the younger brother couldn't help but feel nervous. This would be the first time he would be making an impression on his new neighbors.

"Yudi, you okay?" Asher gave his younger brother a concerned look, he placed a reassuring on his brother's shoulder. "You're not about to burst into dust, are you?" While it was still in a teasing tone, it still conveyed a sense of concern for the younger male. "I'm fine." Yehuda managed to say confidently. Asher wasn't so sure about that answer, but he knew that hiding Yehuda wouldn't result in anything good. Even Yehuda had made an affirmative answer to coming to the festival... well it was more like, "Why not? May as well jump headfirst into the shark tank." Asher was about to say something towards his brother, but his eyes had landed on the tall figure of Jack. While many had been intimidated by the tall, dark-haired man, Asher wasn't afraid to engage with Jack. "Jack!" He excitedly wave and began running towards the man, his arms looped with his brother who was stumbling to keep up with Asher.

Long, pale blonde locks swished back and forth freely as Felicia lazily sauntered out of her room and into the quiet hall. The remnants of a peaceful clung to the corners of ocean blue eyes as she moved into the kitchen with a yawn. Her gaze flicked to the repetitive red blinking of the home phone. A sigh escaped the child and she pressed the play button on the reiever the phone was attached to.

"You have 1 new message." Felicia poked at the corner of a tin foil wrapped plate as the message began to play.

Felicia's face controted into a scowl as she peeled back the foil on the plate. It wasn't that she didn't like what he made, she just didn't like the fact that he had made it specifically for her. "Geez..." She grumbled, setting the plate down on the dining table. She sat down and snatched the fork, stabbing it into the scrambled egg and popping a bite in her mouth while she stared out the window to her side. This had been her life for about a month, and to be honest she was not a fan. It was certainly better than her life before Jack taking her in, but this life was so boring in comparison. She had to go to school, people constantly tried to strike up conversations, and she wasn't even allowed to steal anymore. Her eyebrows furrowed at the thought, and she stood up from her chair, having finished the meal.

After cleaning up the plate and putting it away, Felicia went to tend to the rest of her morning routine. Showering, brushing, putting on jeans and a t-shirt,even the etensive process of tying up her hair into the intricate and unique style she always wore. It was around 11 AM when the young girl threw her ratty coat over herself and slipped her dulled rusty makeshift dagger into the hidden inner pocket. She almost never used the blade, but having it on her made her feel safer, so she carried it around anyways. What did it matter if nobody found out it was there? Felicia affixed her dusty cap on her head and looked at the analog clock in the living room. With a fussy grumble, she grabbed a broom from the closet and began to sweep up the living room...

It was an hour past noon when Felicia sulked onto the scene of the festival, head tilted downward and hands stuffed in her coat pockets. It was hot out, but the girl refused to take off her coat for any reason, even if she was on the beach under the blazing sun. Bright blue eyes scanned the environment and landed upon a young girl with braided twintails walking off away from the bulk of it all. What was her name again? Dio? Bleepo? Ah, Cleo. The girl stood out as striking to Felicia. She was quite the opposite of what she was used to with her peers. In the orphanage, the kids were always loud smelly and dramatic. Cleo on the other hand was responsible and respectful, cool, and in all honesty Felicia thought she was really pretty. Felicia had honestly never talked to Cleo before, but before she knew it, her boots were already moving through the sand to follow her.

When Felicia caught up to her peer, the other girl had stopped by the shore to poke sand with a stick. "Oi! Wot are ye doin'? Do ya 'ave a prolem wit' the sand?" She called out in the thick foreign accent she had, the first signal of her presence to the other girl. She walked up to the other girl, a puzzled scowl upon her expression as her soot covered boots sunk silently into the sand with each step.

Today began no different for master Sweft but it would surely end with a bang, "the ocean festival, my it comes quicker each year"
Grayson thought outloud as he cooked a simple (but delicious) omelette for breakfast. Serving a portion for Cressida and Leonie before sitting down to eat for himself. Grayson finished his food with a satisfied "ahh" and proceeded on to clean the dishes and fry pan before starting the busy work that kept the guild open and profitable.

It was around 11AM when Mike pushed open the guild door carrying two large sacks over his shoulder with a familiar smell of monsters, sweat and blueberry wine.
"Your a bit early... Can't wait for your first festival eh?" Sweft chuckled as he stood from his laptop.
"your a broken clock of a old man Gray, I always finish my jobs before lunch or dinner"
Mike barked with a jaded smile as he set his loot onto the floor.
"I meant the drinking you wino tosser..."
Grayson's eye opened in surprise as he inspected the sacks "are the Bonies emerging closer to the surface?"
"hah! I wish... save me the trouble of going down so many levels... but for real i just work faster then a old man or a little kid can"
Mikes grin turned wide and smug as he took a seat and kicked his feet up onto another chair
not like ol sweft or young Cress need to know about my stashes, I'll just let them keep thinking I'm superman.
In truth Mike woke up late and only had time to slay slimes and cave bugs. The skeleton parts were killed previously and left in the mine for collection at a later date...
Sakata.Gintoki.full.638845.jpg
"well...I can't deny it," Sweft mumbled with relief
"...just a shame the old man and little kids are your seniors in this guild ey Mikey?"
Mike's smile faded for a blank stare with squinted eyes
"just pay me, I want to buy a fishing rod and see if I catch something."
"You couldn't hook a fish even if it was in a bucket.. Leonie will sort these before you get paid, but I can lend you a rod for the time being."

Sweft placed the sacks behind the counter and took a step towards the back door
"If you expect me to rent it you can forget about it"
Sweft turned back around with a sheepish smirk "Suppose we should just head off then ey?"
Mike left for home to shower and get cleaned up, Grayson arrived at the beach after 12 with a bottle in one hand and a rod and bucket in the other.

Mike was half a hour later but he brought a esky with ice pops and drinks, he sat down next to sweft and negotiations for a turn of fishing began. It ended with sweft getting a drink and poking fun at Mike for being nervous around the others villagers close to his age.
"I'll say hello later!.. I just.. like drinking with someone like my grandpa"
"you coward, we both know you have a thing for-"

"shuddupyourface"
Mike snapped before casting out his rod and glancing at the people about the beach. Sweft laughed and drank.
"should of put a melon in the ice"
Mumbled Mike as he ignored sweft and the thought of watermelons drifted into his mind

((Mike Ceede and Grayson sweft are available for interaction! They would be sitting next to each other drinking fishing and bickering a tad))

    ~ Inn -> Beach ~
Tender Strength || Hunter’s CS File

The morning flew by as the work at the Vitral continued. Unlike the spring rush with its calming bustle, the summer always wound up being rather chaotic. It was a popular destination for families, and boy did it sound that way. He heard the shout of a small child as someone had apparently stepped on their toys. He would have swooped in but it seems Diana was already on it.

He gave the two a smile as he passed lugging around the new linens needed on the second floor. Though most had already made their way in days prior for the festival he’d already had a couple leave, seemingly not wanting to deal with the busy atmosphere. He sometimes wished he could just install a dang elevator in this place, but it would clash terribly with the rest of the Inn that had been preserved so well.

He turned on the radio and listened to the morning news when he got a second to breathe. Oh? Right, it was Thomas’s birthday. Poor guy would probably be running as far as the winds would take him now that it was announced. He’d just leave him a gift at the library tomorrow then. What threw him off more was the announcement of a new resident moving in. On the Ocean Festival huh? He must really love the beach. Maybe he could drag the new dude to come swimming with Emily and him.

Ack that’s right. He made a quick stop to drop off the beach stuff he’d bought for Emily. Well, more that Alessia bought for Emily. Like he’d ever get sizes right. A proper beach trip had to include swimming! Even if that meant that he got to spend his afternoon teaching her how to swim.

He let out a sigh once midday approached. Near everyone had cleared out. The festival would be starting soon and he was sure they’d all left to go buy some last minute beach necessities before Bon Marche closed for the festival. He’d remembered Aless saying something about reopening after too but he doubted anyone would have any energy besides her at that point.

Well it was about time for him to get going too. Luckily the Inn didn’t have much to lock up, and what needed to be stashed was always locked anyways. He made a quick detour to his penthouse to shower up after work. By the time he was done he looked to see he was running a little late if he wanted to be there for the proper opening.

He shot a quick text to Lumina and Asuka.

Omw to the Beach. Don’t be late! I’m going to be with Emily at the water see y'all there!

P.S. Mina let me know if you need help getting Ellie outdoors. Alessia already said she’d send Alabaster after him if needed.

He didn’t bother with much coverup. All he needed was his board shorts and a shirt. He stuffed some clothes in his duffle bag though in case it got cooler later. The bag was filled to the brim with everything they’d need to stay hours on the beach. A blanket, sunscreens of all types, extra clothes, money for any food stalls, water bottles, towels. He went the whole nine yards.

He didn’t know if Aless would want to swim but he made sure to have at least three sets. He started walking down to the beach looking up and down the way. It seemed luck would have it that he was found before he could find as he heard Emily call out to him.

    "Um good afternoon HuntHunt."

    “Huh- ah EMILY”

He was glad the swimsuit fit her well. Besides she looked cute in it. He gave her a smile as he started dropping the bag and setting them up a nice home base.

“Good spot. Close to the water but not too close. But how come you’re just sitting in the sand? Here help me set up the blanket! Wait… where’s did you apply sunscreen yet? It’s the hottest part of the day!”

Although he hadn’t been one of the earliest helpers, this was the first festival since Leo’s return nearly two seasons ago that he did find the time to lend a small hand. Mostly his attention went toward the fireworks, not setting them up of course as the more handy Gregory had that handled, but simply as a hauler and inspector. The latter of which held special importance as Leo had been the one who connected the mayor -the human one that is- with the supplier. The supplier to a slight degree being Leo himself, however the bulk came from a wholesaler who owed a little favor. Having sat through a seventy-eight minute, one-sided conversation about fireworks a faulty product would have been irritating to say the least.

Days later and he still wasn’t sure how the non-canid mayor talked him into that. He had only stopped by the town hall for a few document copies yet that was plenty of time for the mayor to work some magic. A surprisingly crafty old man. Then again, Leo may just be an incredibly simple person. The work itself wasn’t an issue, on the contrary festivals had always been a not so secret delight for him, and a little labor never hurt anybody.

So after handling his own duties on the farm and cleaning himself off he left for the beach just before noon. Dressed in more casual wear -at least compared to his usual attire- of grey pants and a thin white shirt, he was obviously not dressed for a swim. An understandable decision since the sea and he still had yet to settle their disagreement, however he was quite comfortable in the slightly warm summer air. Having missed so many Kore summers he had forgot just how mild they were, today especially was incredibly pleasant.

Obce the preparations were finished and the festival was underway, Leo had suddenly found himself with little to do besides enjoying the day. Idly walking about he could continue doing just that, browse the stalls a little or maybe do some people watching, but those options were at the moment not very appealing. Bother somebody? That would work, if he found the right somebody that is. The Nilssons sprang to mind, however he had promised himself not to pester them for the first hour or two. Let them enjoy the festivities as a family without their stray dog interrupting. He was beginning to get too dependent on them anyways. Although, if he just happened to bump into them it wouldn’t really be his fault, would it?

Just then amber eyes which had been skimming over the tiny sea of people landed on one more familiar, a sun kissed face topped with a mess of brown curly hair. One that appeared to have found his fun at the boat races, a sight that the older man thought was quite fitting. Samuel was certainly somebody worth bothering, so with all the motivation Leo ever needed he went to do just that.

"Enjoying the show or waiting for a turn?" He questioned once close enough before then leaning in close like a conspirator and softly adding, "I think you can take them."

So today was the Ocean Festival. To be completely honest, Gregory was a bit nervous about this whole event. Not because he thought things would go wrong. No, they were very clearly going to turn out great. He knew Emily always did her best effort to make sure these events were excellent. That's definitely not what he was worried about. What actually troubled him the most was the fact that always haunted him in most large, social events: The amount of people that would be there. Naturally, as the shy person he is, he isn't used to large crowds. In most festivals he'd usually stay around the edges of the festival so that he wouldn't have to be in the center of it all. There were much more outgoing people who did that much better, and he preferred to be there, just not be looked at much. Not the kind of person who wants to be the center of attention.

Nonetheless, he was definitely excited about one thing: The fireworks. Evelyn had trusted him to help with the fireworks, and well, this was his opportunity to show what he could do. True, he didn't like people looking at him as the center of attention, but he did like when people appreciated his work.

As for Sarah, she was very hyped up for this event. She just loved that there was so much to do, so many things to try, and so many people to talk to. She loved social gatherings like this one more than anything else honestly, it was such a delight. She specially liked that it was an opportunity to get her brother Gregory to try and talk more to people. She had always tried to encourage him to be more social, but of course, that was always something Gregory struggled with.

Gregory and Sarah were already on their way out of their house and over to the Ocean Festival, both of them hurrying as to not be late to the festival. Gregory was wearing a dark green shirt, gray pants and black shoes, while Sarah was wearing a white T-shirt, with an expensive fashion purple jacket on top, black pants and black high heels. Her chocolate brown hair was perfectly combed and looked like silk as it reached about half-way down her back.

"I'm so excited for this Ocean Festival! Aren't you, Greggie?" Sarah asked her brother with a cheerful smile. Gregory smiled back, a bit more nervously.

"I guess so. I just hope these fireworks turn out alright." Gregory replied.

Sarah just giggled.
"Oh, of course they will! Don't worry, I know you can do that." Sarah replied with a smile. "Honestly, I've seen you make much more complex inventions. I really don't get how you do it in the first place. But if you can make some things that look like they come from the future, then surely you can handle some fireworks." Sarah replied to him.

Gregory smiled a bit.
"I guess you're right." He replied.

"Besides, I hope you take this opportunity to get to know some of the townspeople better." Sarah told her brother. "We've lived here our whole lives, I bet many people want to get to know you better. Just open yourself up, ok?" Sarah told him.

Gregory sighed slightly.
"I guess I can try." He replied, both of them now arriving at the place where the event is being held. "Well, here we are." Gregory replied. "I guess I'll let Evelyn know I'm here so she doesn't worry that I might not come." Gregory said, as he split apart from his sister now. She went over to say hello to everyone, while he went away to try and talk to Evelyn. He spotted her alone, her fluffy companion having already left to do something else. "Evelyn." He called her as he got closer, with a strong enough volume for her to hear him over the music, but also someone of a soft tone, he isn't really that loud even at full volume. "I hope I'm not too late..." Gregory said, noticeably a bit nervous. "I've brought everything I need with me. I promise, you won't regret trusting me with the fireworks." Gregory told her, slightly nervous, but still very determined to do his job.

As for Sarah, she walked over to the food table, particularly the area where the chocolates were. Honestly, Sarah loved chocolate, it was one of her favorite things. As she grabbed some chocolate cookies to eat, she spotted Amelia, who had also come to get some sweets as well.
"Oh, hello Amelia!" She greeted her cheerfully. "How have you been?" She asked with a friendly smile.

The ocean festival… the true start of summer! He threw himself out of bed with great enthusiasm. He’d wrecked his room last night trying to find his trunks. It had taken so long that he’d passed out right after. Unfortunately, that meant he had to clean it all up now if he wanted to go out at all today. He was quick to start folding back up his pants and shoving them into drawers.

He didn’t like to keep his room a mess anyways but he wanted to be at the beach already. Summer was the best season for crab hunting! Besides he’d been up all night dreaming of summer vacation plans already. He did his best to hide the scripts in his closet. It wouldn’t do well for his mom to realize he was still trying to apply to roles. He actually liked Kore a lot, but that wasn’t going to stop his love of the limelight.

Once he was satisfied that everything but his things for today were properly stashed he clutched his clothes and towel to his chest as he peered down the hallway. All clear… commencing bath time. Or at least he would if he didn’t hear a shout from his left.

    “Ack!”

He jumped, dropping the clothes he had on the floor. As he spun around he found it was just his big brother Jasper trying to give him a heart attack.

“Hahaha shoulda seen your face. Whatcha doing sneaking around? Awww is wittle Sunny trying to sneak off to the beach alone? You know Mom will letcha have it.”

He picked up his things from the floor before sticking his tongue out as his brother.

“I am not! I just wanna get ready in peace. Is that so bad? Besides don’t you have cleaning to do?”

With that he ran to the bathroom ignoring the chuckling behind him. Okay maybe he didn’t think things through. Of course they’d expect Jasper to go with. His parents weren’t ever really the type to worry about his walking around. But the beach was another matter. His parents were always so careful around tourists. It wasn’t even like he planned to go in deep water!

He finished up and made his way to the living room. Somehow Jasper was already decked out in swimwear.

    “Did- DID YOU EVEN SHOWER?!?!”

“I’m offended little bro. Of course I did. Heard you banging around your room and figured that you wanted out today so I went and got ready before you. ‘Sides didn’t you wanna go see your wittle girlfrienddddddd.”

“She not- I dont- I mean- SHUT UP JASPER”

He wound up lunging at his brother as the elder merely started to poke his face easily slipping out of his hold.

“Alright alright enough boys get eating up. The festival doesn’t start for a few hours anyways. And don’t give them any trouble you hear me?”

They let out a harmonic ‘Yes dad!’ at the stern words.

“Oh and boys don’t forget to get going and buy what you need from Bon Marche early. Miss Busto let out a notice that they’d be closed during festival hours. We’re out of sunscreen, and you should probably stock up on ice for the cooler. Your father and I will make our way down for the fireworks later tonight so behave yourself until then.”

He was well aware. They’d planned to use the opportunity to clean up the house since his grandparents were coming down for the cooking festival. He didn’t see why that took a week of preparation though their house wasn’t dirty. But if it meant that he got free rein until the fireworks then he didn’t mind. He’d been stashing some money so he could probably treat everyone to some iceys.

After breakfast and a long detour to Bon Marche to stock up their cooler and buy some buckets and nets they were off to the beach. It didn’t take them long to set up. It seemed there were already a few around. He recognized the waitress from Dream Drop and He thought he passed the town Nurse. But for the most part there were a lot of tourists. He weaved around trying to find some of the other kids. Luckily enough he spotted the ends of Cleo’s pretty distinctive braids.

    “CLEO! Over Here!”

He shouted over waving her down to their little set up in the sand before realizing he recognized another of his classmates. The new girl, Felicity? No Felicia. He dropped some of the things he had leaving Jasper to finish setting up before running towards the two.

“Ah- Felicia right? You’re also from here huh? Wanna come join us?- Oh Cleo I brought the nets and buckets. Get ready for an epic crab chase! Well that is whenever Connor and Chloe show up...”

Sophie had just arrived to this big festival, and wow, it was impressive. She had never thought the people in this town had such grand or beautiful festivals. It was really amazing what a few people could do when they worked together. She walked around, enjoying the sight. The decroation was beautiful, there was so much food, and overall, everything just looked great.

Sophie's father didn't come for the festival, he had decided to stay home at the mansion to get some more work done. He was always such a hard-working man. That's part of what got him to where he is today. But that's beyond the point. Sophie had asked her father for permission to visit the festival, and while at the beginning he wasn't so sure it was a good idea, he eventually granted her permission to go to the festival. Sophie just found herself amazed at everything there was here in the festival. They all seemed to have so much fun here.

A slight sigh came out of her as she watched everyone talking. She really would like to fit in and make friends. But of course, being Mr. Borghese's daughter, everyone was always so proper and formal around her. And it didn't help that she was very shy and soft-spoken either. If only she could fit in more with the people here. They seem like so nice people.

The Ocean Festival seemed like it would be a huge success. And why wouldn't it? Confident in his cooking skills, Diego made sure there was plenty of delicious food to enjoy. Everything from sweets, to pasta, sandwiches, seafood, salads, and a lot more, there was something delicious for all tastes. However, he wasn't the most expressive person, he generally kept a serious expression for the most part, even now that he was actually very happy as he cooked. Lola wasn't cooking, but was still nearby to make her older brother company. The two were chatting as Diego cooked. He had set up an outdoor kitchen where he could cook while at the event.

"This festival is beautiful. It reminds me of the festivals we had back home." Lola said with a smile.

Diego nodded. "I agree. The festivals in this place are truly a sight to behold." He replied, as he finished cooking what seemed like seafood rice. He then rang a bell nearby to signal to the people carrying the food to the tables that there was more food ready to be taken. "There seem to be a lot of games as well. Maybe you'd like to try some." Diego told his sister.

Lola smiled and nodded. "Yes, a lot of these sound so fun!" she replied cheerfully. "I might also find some pretty shells on the shore too." She added. She loved collecting interesting and pretty sea shells she could find on the shore.

Diego nodded. "Very well. Don't forget to eat some lunch before you go." Diego reminded her.

Lola nodded, and seeing some of the delicious meals that were on the table, she decided to go try some. "I'll go do that then. You'll join once you're finished cooking, right?" Lola asked him.

"I will." Diego replied with a nod.

"Ok. See you later then, Diego." She told him as she went to try some of the food.

"A your suppose to bring a blanket? I thought sitting in the sand was part of the experience?" She had thought by seeing a lot of people running around and playing in the sand you were supposed to be sitting around in or maybe she was just watching too many kids. Now that she thinks about it there are a few people setting up chairs or at least something to sit on, now she just feels silly. She would look back over at hunter who now seems to be eyeing her over. "Sunscreen is that something you suppose to put on?" She had heard about people who would come out here just sit in the sun just get something called a tan? Is that also not a normal part of the beach experience. "Wait so is this feeling of sitting here and having your skin burn not a normal thing but you see so many people do it on tv I thought that was normal. So um is my skin not suppose to burn? And what does sunscreen do? I'm sorry am I doing this beach thing all wrong I've never actually been to one outside of what little I was able to see on tv. Was I suppose to bring other things with me? Am I meant to show this much skin? Is it true you're not supposed to eat before swimming I think I might of mess that up. Do we jellyfish? Are worms in the sand an actual thing? Does the water actually make you sick?" She asked this any other myth that might of cross her mind.

"Nnnn... Gotcha!" She dove into the mucky weeds with a triumphant cry, disappearing for a moment into the tall grass. There was a lot of rustling and splashing - this thing was putting up a hell of a fight - but the determined scientist soon popped up with a wriggling bull frog clamped between her hands. "Ahh what a cutie! You were so sneaky but you couldn't escape me forever." Hollie giggled and kissed the muddy frog on its cute little head. She'd been hunting this bugger for a week now and she finally got it. "Camera, camera, camera..." She dug around in her pockets for the waterproof disposable camera with one hand while she gripped the slippery creature with her other. "Hehe, say... flies~!" Click. Another selfie to hang up on the wall. She was about to take another when Evelyn's announcement rang out across the beach, startling Hollie and giving the frog a chance to escape. "Ah- oh no- oop!" Another splash and a defeated squeak as she lunged after it just to end up on her butt in the shallows. "Ahh.. well, at least I have the picture to commemorate." She pushed a few tangled locks behind one ear and looked up to where people were gathering on the shore. Was it already this late in the day? She had been out since dawn in her waders and muckboots hunting down the haunting howler and must have lost track of time.

The waterlogged woman picked herself up out of the muck and stumbled through the sticking mud back to where there was dry land, then plopped herself down again. She pulled off her boots with a pop and dumped out all the water and weeds and mud that had accumulated, then lied down with a long sigh. The sun felt nice on her skin, especially since she had been in the cool water and the shade for most of the morning. Hollie lifted an arm to cover her eyes, smearing mud on her cheek in the process. Natural sunblock, right?

The keys to Rhys's house jingled as the doctor twirled them in his hands. Normally, he'd be at the clinic at this time, but it was a special day. The Ocean Festival would be starting soon, and it would be a nice opportunity to relax and talk to the other townsfolk. After the morning shift ended at work, Rhys had come back to his house to change into something more suitable for the occasion. At first, he thought about wearing his usual casual clothing. But, then he thought of how painful it would be to get any dirt out of his vest. So, he just chose to wear one of his older, loose shirts he didn't quite care for anymore. Together with a lovely pair of black shorts and sandals, Rhys was ready to hit the beach. Rhys never really got a chance to go to the beach in Kore, as he didn't often take vacations, so this was going to be a new experience for him. As he locked up his house, Rhys thought of how nice it will be to sit by the sea with a cool drink and unwind. As Rhys finally put his keys away, he put on sunglasses and headed out, ready to have fun at the festival.

The fresh summer breeze and squawking of seagulls were the first things to catch his attention when he arrived. In the distance, he could barely hear announcements being made by Miss Frost, listing off things to do. Of course, there was food and music, but the more particular activities took his interest. Sandcastle building? Rhys had never built a sandcastle before, but it would seem amusing to try. Oh, but, maybe he should find food for his growling stomach first. A plan started to formulate in his mind of the order he should do things. Get food to eat, find a spot on the beach, participate in activities. Sounded like a nice checklist to begin his afternoon with. Rhys walked off, curious about what foods
he was soon to find.

Blythe and Jamie~ Location: The Beach~ Actions: Jamie's getting food. Blythe's chatting up Hollie.

"Towels."
"Check."
"Cooler, beer, sunblock, watermelon, hand fans, and umbrella?"
"Check, check, check, check, and check."
"Sunglasses and buckets to show those kids how to build a real sandcastle?"

Slipping on a pair of black tinted sunglasses, Jamie clicked his tongue as he fired off some finger guns at his pig-tailed boss. Said boss gave an affirmative thumbs up. "Looking cool, Jamie. You need help carrying all that stuff, or are you good?" Without saying a word, the grey haired boy held up his hands with his palms facing her as to say "I got this." He grabbed the cooler filled with ice, beer, and a small melon by its handle. In the other hand, he had the sand bucket with the sunblock, hand fans, and towels shoved into it. The large sun umbrella was sandwiched between his left armpit. A large straw beach hat snugly fit atop of his head, his torso was covered with a cotton tank top, and his thighs were covered by his beige shorts. He was aptly prepared for Ocean day, but his thin forearms were obviously struggling to lift the cooler. "Yeaaaah, that doesn't exactly answer my question." Glancing towards the umbrella, she noticed how the metal bar of the handle dug into his pale skin and rubbed it red.

The dork didn't respond, either because all his effort was being directed towards not dropping the cooler or he wanted to be relied on, and flashed a smile. Sighing, Blythe, with a hint of a smirk on her lips, grabbed the cooler and umbrella from her employee/housekeeper with relative ease. Swinging the cooler overhead so her elbow pointed to the sky and the cooler was against her back, she gently used the tip of the umbrella to nudge Jamie's chin. "Keep the bucket safe for me, kid." A blush decorated Jamie's face while he nodded fervently.

It didn't take long for them to make the trek to the sandy shores and set up base. Blythe was dressed up similarly to Jamie though her shorts were white and a tad of a higher cut, and her top was a deep navy. After some nagging about skin care and sun damage from Jamie, they both were adequately covered in sunblock. "So, what's the plan, boss?" the actor asked, turning his head to his companion.

"Hmm, I don't see any kids building sandcastles to show up yet, so I guess we can just roam around, see what the day has to offer?"

"Sounds good, I'll go visit some of the food stalls and see if there are any recipes I can pick up."

"I can feel my mouth watering now. I'll go and catch up with some friends in the meanwhile."

So, the pair went their separate ways for now.

Jamie went towards the sweet smell of desserts, while Blythe went towards a familiar, chaotic face caked in mud. Standing right in front of the sun, Blythe, with a faint smile on her face, casted a shadow down on the local teacher. "I've heard mud masks were good for the skin, but I'm not sure if you should be using just any old mud. If you want, I'm sure I can ask Jamie for a do at home mud mask recipe."

There was just so much food to enjoy here! Everything from seafood, pasta, sandwiches, salads, potatoes, desserts and a lot more. Lola wondered what she should try first. There were a few appetizers, including some nachos with refried beans and with guacamole. It looked so good, Lola chose to start with this. She grabbed a bit, and as soon as she took the first bite, she closed her eyes and smiled. It tasted so good. What else could she expect though? Her brother clearly cooked this. She smiled, it gave her such a home-like feeling.

She then noticed Dr. Rhys came over to the food tables, no doubt looking for food. She gave him a gentle smile. "Good afternoon, doctor." She said. Truth being told, she was still rather new around, so she didn't know the people around here too well. However, she was friendly, and wanted to make friends with the people here, and the best way to do that was to talk with them. "The food looks great, doesn't it?"

Emma & Evan
Emma & Evan
Emma & Evan
The time had finally come for the ocean festival! Emma had been excited for it for a couple of weeks by now, helping out a hand wherever she could as she also had some time of her job which mainly contained of her driving her truck around or helping out at the warehouse where she was being employed. Luckily her colleagues were fun people to hang around with so time went by fast. With twinkling eyes, she stared up at Evan who was walking beside her towards the beach after having parked his car safely despite the occasional whacking of Emma who couldn’t keep herself calm and collected. It was cute to see but it could be a true pain in the ass or even dangerous for whenever she took it a little too far out of her comfort zone.

Sniffing up the fresh air from the sea, she indulged herself completely, a smile forming wide and clear which made Evan chuckle at the sight of it. ”You look a little kid who got a present.” He uttered, holding his fist before his mouth to cover up his smile ever so slightly. Emma whipped her head towards him in one swift movement, taking him a little off guard by the suddenness of it: ”Don’t you feel like that then? Do you know how long it has been since I’ve been to something like this since I always had to work?! I am going to enjoy every. Single. Moment!” Her voice was high pitched due to the excitement level building up in her body, ready to burst whenever the time came. Evan patted her head and nodded with a little sigh as he had to admit he missed her company during those times.

Emma’s attention soon got caught by the smell of freshly made food, her stomach rumbling as she hadn’t eaten yet. This was the good time to go or she might overeat herself later on and get her into the sick bay. Once she left Evan (poor soul) for her food trip, she let her eyes roam over the several dishes. Taking a bit of everything which soon enough filled her up as she gobbled everything down at a rather high speed. She almost bumped into someone if she didn’t notice it on time, focusing on the people in front which she recognized from around town. ”Oooh! You two are here as well?! I mean… of course you’d be here, it’s the festival so it’s only normal for you to be here. But then again, I’ve been away on these kinds of events so I haven’t really seen people gathering around here in a while and I am blabbering again.” She stopped herself before she could go on even deeper on how her work got in between the festivals and such… Those were the times she really didn’t like to be at work since she got off late most of the time, only being able to see the last hour of it.

Evan in the meantime watched her go off and decided to lurk around by himself for now. Noticing some familiar faces here and there but most of them were occupied in their own group, not even seeing Evan passing by. But well, he didn’t really make any movements to catch their attention either. Instead he just enjoyed the weather and his couple of days off from work which was well needed as he had been working non-stop for the past two months. It was a miracle he didn’t crash during that time as he merely had four hours of sleep every day. Let alone his meals which were all over the place.

Plopping down onto the beach, tossing a towel onto the sand and making it himself comfortable. He was one of the lucky few who barely burned even when in the sun, he only got really tan after doing it for a long time multiple times. He took off his shirt and used it as some kind of pillow as he laid there, having switched on his cell phone for some good music while he was out there. Not too far of, he heard a kid rambling on about sunscreen for Emily or something, a little overprotective even if he had to say so.

So, well, obviously Jet would have loved to help set up the festival, she had planned on doing so, really, she was gonna bring-- uh, ice, probably? parties always needed ice -- but then, well, you see, then she ended up sleeping 'till noon (which was fine! She had no appointments scheduled today anyways), and ended up only having enough time to throw on her beach clothes (swim trunks, an old t-shirt, and a thin button-up to hide the bleach stains on said t-shirt) and scrub the taste of last night's snack binge out of her mouth before she had to get going in time for the festivities. And, well, she got to the beach right on time, so really, who's to say it wasn't destiny that things worked out this way? (The ice that she had forgotten to remember to pick up from the store would probably beg to differ.)

Jet's taken her car to the beach -- she didn't want to take any longer getting there than she needed to, and the old thing she drives doesn't see much action these days anyways. She steps out the driver's side door. Her eyes flit around the general vicinity, trying to see if she can spot anyone she knows, but then she spies her reflection in the car's window and oh yeah, she's still got it goin' on.

"That's right ladies, I burn very easily, and I haven't had a real haircut in months. Girls, girls, one at a time please, there's more than enough of me to go around," she laughs out loud to no one in particular as she rubs a stray smear of sunscreen into her nose and circles around to grab her beach towel out of the back seat. She's still giggling to herself as she pads up the grassy walkway to the lakeside. Though, once she reaches the site of the festivities, she forgets her train of thought in favour of checking out the colorful decorations strewn around the beach, twirling on her heel to get the full view.

Jet's gaze catches on someone lingering on the sidelines, and she bounds over, face splitting into a grin when she recognizes who it is. She lifts a hand to wave in greeting as she approaches.

"Hey, little miss Borghese! Admiring the ambience too?"

Sophie was still looking around, enjoying the scenery, when suddenly, she heard someone talking to her. She turned around and saw that Jet was approaching her. With a small, shy smile on her face, she waves back at the girl approaching her. "Oh, good afternoon. I hope you've been doing well." Sophie replies. Even in casual conversations, she couldn't help but talk in a very formal and proper manner. That's what living a lifetime with a father who had always taught her to be very proper and formal caused. She nodded slightly, making sure to keep a straight posture at all times. "Yes, the scenery here is quite beautiful. It's clear that the townspeople really put in a lot of effort for this event." Sophie replied. She couldn't help being a bit shy, but she really hoped to get to know the townspeople better and make friends. She didn't want to be seen by them as merely the "rich girl". She wanted to fit in and be like one of them.

By the time that the festival was finally ready to open to all in attendance Samuel had already been hanging around the beach since the early morning. Like with most festivals Samuel attended in the village he had lent Evelyn a hand in getting things ready along with a few of the other locals. Despite always seeming that bit more laid-back he rarely said no to helping with these things. After all, these were for fesitivals so any work he was doing would be contributing for something he could chill out and have fun at later, which was worth it in his book.

After helping out with carrying the rest of the extra tables and setting them up for the food to be set up on, he and the others that also lent some help were sent off to relax for a while before things would take off. With only about 30 minutes to go he felt it wasn't worth his time to walk back to the ranch, which was fine he supposed. If he went back for his dog to have a run around the beach, he doubted poor Gordo would like to be dragged from the ranch to the beach, being the chubby, lazy mutt he was and Sam had already dressed for the weather as it was so he was pretty prepared for the day without needing to change. He decided he might as well stick around and enjoy the summer air before the crowds arrive.

By the time he had taken a wander around the beach, a small crowd had already started to arrive, causing some hustle and bustle to build up. Plenty of familiar faces the rancher would wave to daily but decent number of tourists it seemed too. The attention of most scattered until Evelyn had stood up for her announcements, catching the brief attention of most and opening the festival officially.

It probably seemed like a bit much to have a mic and such setup for a village celebration but the Mayor's daughter seemed to always treat these events with a unwavering amount of hype. Maybe that's what pulled the tourists in for these things, who knew?

With the announcements ending and music starting after, so did the activities available for the day and of course Sam would be jumping into at least one once he had caught up with Amelia so she wouldn't be on her own. She wasn't hard to spot, he honestly just had to find wherever the sweets were set up and surely enough that's where she had ended up. Though it looked as though she already had bumped into someone to socialise with without his input, which was good I'm his mind. The first festivals she had went to she was flicking between wanting to head home and following him around constantly. It was nice time see her enjoying her time without a social crutch so he decided to leave her be instead of approaching.

He turned on his heel and headed further down the beach to where the activities actually were instead. He had only briefly checked them over when they were mid set up earlier but he already knew all about the RC boats and like the big kid he was he was already heading towards it. It was one of his favourite festival activities when hed attend as a kid with his grandparents and he would be lying if he said it wasnt still. Of course he wasn't the first there but he was content just watching honestly.

Watching people racing for the best lap time in hope of a prize had his attention successfully so he didn't notice the farmer approaching him at first. His lazy looking eyes becoming alert for a split second as he was addressed. He flashed a smile at the friendly face greeting him "A bit of both if I'm honest" he answered as his gaze flicked back to the race. The comment about him being able to take on the others entering pulled a laugh from him as he gently shrugged his shoulders. "And Maybe. I've snatched the prize a few times over the years.
