So are the others currently with Daisy and Snowfall?

Need to know so I can judge how good of an idea it is to use the Boom Gun. Again, I dont want to rupture any allied ear drums.

After Terra made her radio call earlier, I was trying to bump things forward by having everyone that wanted to converge upon Terra, Daisy and Snowfall to begin the entry into the main part of the fortress.

I... think so?

That reminds me! I am going to cast invulnerability on myself with the rune axe.

However, I cant seem to find where the spell is.

I see the invulnerability in Zephs profile as a level seven spell.

But the axe says it is cast as if from an 8th level sorcerer. What does that mean?

The note about casting it as effectively level eight is for duration of the spell.

2 minutes. Not bad!

Now! After the energy field is depleted of its 50 MDC. Are they still immune to fire, cold, energy attacks?

D. Rex D. Rex Hey D.? I believe your answer lies in the second-to-last sentence which states, "Once the 50 M.D.C. from the energy field are (sic) exhausted, the person will suffer normal damage to his own M.D.C. and/or Hit Points but remains invulnerable to the other things listed." (sic mine)

That's a nice spell! I recommend saving that spell for when trouble shows up? Two minutes can go by awfully fast when exploring.

The sentence is what caused my confusion and why I asked for clarification. So I might need it spelled our for me. Since fire cold and energy are "other things listed" if the MDC field protects mainly stuff other than those.

Indeed! Seeing that now that I calculated duration.

Hey, you can never go wrong asking the one that runs the game (like you did)! =)

Sherwood Sherwood Given Snowfall's background, travels, and skills, how familiar do you say he might be with Zephiron's draconic heritage, please? If he knows some things about Zeph's line, it would certainly play a part in their first real meeting.

Also, does Snowfall know what a Mechanoid Overlord could be? Or anything about it like how it could be guarded? Special abilities or weaknesses?

Pardon the short posts. Will have a lot to catch up on, wanted to put something out so it didnt stall anyone waiting for a response to the direct question.

@Silanon Maybe have Shaona use her Superhuman Strength spell to rip open more panels and then take a good detailed video of the machinery if we lack the time?
First part seems like a good call - don't think I need to take a vid, I'm mostly wondering what the conduits are for, and why on Earth the dragon was sitting right on top of whatever there is - you know, maybe it's irrelevant right now, then I can just rejoin the group and return later, but if it's not irrelevant, I wanna see it before we get to a position where the knowledge would've been useful.

I'm done with the level-up, I think - only the two skills are missing.
Sherwood Sherwood I'd like to pick up enhanced reflexes, as discussed earlier - still fair game, I assume? For the second one, I'm considering either Telemechanic Mental Operation, or Telemechanic Paralysis; the second one is much more situational, but I like it flavor-wise. Any thoughts on either of those? Or other recommendations? I mostly want to stick with the tech theme.

You would be aware of the way a dragon hatchling will act as a general rule. Obviously, some variation will happen.

The Overlord is usually heavily guarded, but it is a tough customer all by itself. A master psychic, it is a deadly foe with its mental powers. Consider that it has most, if not all, the psi powers in the book. Other than that, it does also possess a powerful triple barreled blaster mounted in its head that has a nasty punch. It is a 40 foot tall giant that flies through the air on a jet of flame.

Yes, Enhanced Reflexes is available for you. Any power that is listed either in the Core book or in the expanded list of powers I have posted in the Lore section can be snagged by anyone with psi powers.

Except that the Atlantean could hardly know that one of the two was no proud warrior at all. "Ah! Who is this humble servant of incomparable Inari to turn down the blessings of a Clan Draco Amicus Battle Magus Controller? Sir Looks-A-Lot thanks you greatly!" As Snowfall slowly and meaningfully bowed Japanese-style to Terra, he absorbed all of the knowledge bestowed upon him by his helm as he looked from Terra to Daisy.

"What say you, Glitter Boy pilot?" he gazed upon Daisy and he studied every one of the people who might become his future party, Eric included if he were present. Snowfall paid special attention to their auras and illusions the helm discovered as well as any magical and chi-based energies his own natural spirit senses automatically detected. These Mechanoids were some of the worst news the Megaverse had to offer - Snowfall examinations made him wonder just what kind of allies Miss Terra had in her company.

So... was this a bad time to ask for information? Snowfall would like to know just who he's dealing with in Terra's party (before we rolled Initiative).

Re: Initiative. Snowfall would like to Quick-draw his Dragon Rod for a +9 to Initiative please.

Thanks for the Overlord and dragon-related information.

OOC for @Psychie I presume that you are going to go ahead and cast your spell on Snowfall? Please make sure you mark off the PPE from your character sheet.

"The armor of the Glitter Boys are already highly resistant to energy." She explained. "If you someone else needs it more, then they could take advantage of it more. But, I won't turn down the offer."

Also, didn't Daisy want in on the Immunity to Energy love?

Heya! Sorry if I'm being a pain with my pointing out these details; I don't mean to be. I can't help but notice these things and point them out for the sake of... accuracy? Harmony? Whatever it is in me. =)

Sherwood Sherwood

Oh my! A master psychic?

Well, I am not sure if I am using it correctly or not, however...

Daisy is a psy-hounds. Detecting and tracking psychics are her specialty.

Given her special senses and abilities as a psi hound, those of which that comes as natural and are in constant use, what would she be able to deduce?

Zeph is also a master psi with a detection and empath suite of powers. He may be of some assistance in dealing with the Overlord. Especially with Invulnerability's resistances.

It should be a fairly easy spell to sustain on a leyline nexus.

What's wrong?

Very kind of you to ask, D.. Thank you for caring! =)

I posted this...
"Ahaaa!" Snowfall exclaimed. "A new corridor to examine!" And that he did and on his way there, he carefully and unobtrusively tried to take a good look using his helm along with his natural Fox Spirit ability to automatically sense magic at everyone who was currently with him.

It was a strange time in Western hemisphere with many odd-goings-on. You never knew who could radiate strange... unnatural things! It was just best to be cautious until one knew better!

...plus this...

... and unless I missed it, I received no reply back whatsoever. It is like I didn't write it at all.

I am trying to accomplish two things that are important to me:

1. Help Rykon in bringing Zeph into our team.

2. Help Snowfall accomplish the same thing.

As I see things, Rykon is not having a good time that he could be having and neither am I. Why? In part, because our characters are total outsiders right now. I feel that changes when you learn about other people's characters in-game, hence the use of Snowfall's magic helmet.

I think a major factor in the fun we've been having in this game has come from our characters great interactions with one another. This takes work. This is not an episode of The Simpsons and we are not the "Super Friends!" I feel interaction requires effort on the part of good role-players. Without it, frustration continues. And who has time for that?

I put forth serious effort in that important direction and get dead silence in return. What am I supposed to do with that?

If it isn't the right time in the game for this to happen, fine. If you don't feel like digging up a one-sentence description-per-character-present for my character's ability to See Aura, fine. But just say so! I have been a man for quite a while now; I can take hearing "no" in a fictitious game.

Leaving a person in your gaming group hanging is liable to make them feel ignored. I haven't met a person yet that likes to be ignored, especially when it regards something important to them (like having a good time in the game with the other players).

And to be fair, I have received wonderful most other times when I've had questions. So I can't help but wonder - what's up with the dead silence now? This deflates my passion for playing this game.

So yeah. *sigh* That's what's going on here, D.

It's probably just the lingering holiday haze that is making everything out of sorts right now. Between work and all that stuff too on top of it. Still myself trying to get my brain working after vacation and work and rp catchup.

I kinda know how you feel though. Save for "you and your magic helmet~" Daisy has mostly been talking to air regarding ear damage.

I wouldnt lose hope though.

My suggestion would be to make a post tagging those you are looking at, describe the spell and what of them you might see. So they know the mechanics and how they should best respond. (As for me I'm just going to fire the Boom gun and hope they plug their ears, wasn't going to, but we against really big guys)

If I failed you there, it's probably I didnt really understand what you were doing. If that's the case! I would love to rectify that.

What is an aura that it would see? That your senses would pick up. Would Daisy have an Aura? Would he see her race or emotions or morality?

You're so cool, D.! I do feel a bit better having spoken with a fellow player about it. I really like your solution, too - that solution gets players and characters talking!

Let me break it down step by step:

(Snowfall's thoughts.) "The wise man never trusts in appearances ." - Confucius

His magic helmet has these powers when activated:
Magic Powers: The wearer can See the Invisible, See Aura, see infrared light, see strong heat radiation same as a thermo-imager, detect magic concealment, and recognize illusions!

The See Aura spell detects the following:
1. The presence of magical and psionic powers (but not type or power level).
2. General level of experience.
3. High or low base P.P.E.
4. The presence of a possessing entity.
5. If they are not "base human" (which could also indicate that they are just seriously ill or insane). Cannot detect alignment.

The Fox Spirit R.C.C. can naturally see magic and Chi (positive or negative and general amount). This is in addition to Snowfall's own people-watching skills and experience (body language, tone, use of words, etc.).

Now, I certainly don't need a power-by-power definition for every single character in sight, but I continue to wonder if the things that stick out be too much? Example: Just knowing that Daisy's P.P.E. base, presence of psionic powers, and appearance might very well draw Snowfall into the conclusion that Daisy is indeed a Dog Boy (possible ally!) and NOT a Wolf Spirit R.C.C. (that race that has been killing Fox Spirits in Japan, since oh, foxes and wolves first came to Japan?).

Bing! Right there, I can tell my character, "Daisy, despite her appearance, is not out to kill you! You can probably trust what she's telling you." And that (for me) makes a world of difference in their roleplay!

And that's all I really want - the facts as best as Snowfall can tell to know where Snowfall should stand with each PC (including Terra). But if it feels too much to ask (as implied by the dead silence) then I am left with only two conclusions.

1. I am investing too much of myself into the RP and ought to back off (and spend my ever-eternally-present energies on something, anything, else).
2. I am asking too much of the powers that be for information they might not want me to have for reasons they will not share. By asking the other players what Snowfall should see, it feels like side-stepping Sherwood which feels wrong to me when I examine it.

Either way, I cannot tell because of the dead silence. I can't do anything with silence. I guess I'd better back off. Again, thanks for asking, D.! =)
