After the Mayor's disappearance, nobody dared to question how or why their beloved Mayor had spirited away, the only thing the villagers all knew was things would never be the same anymore. The state of the village went downhill day by day, the morale of the villagers hit an all-time low. Within this despair, a pair of "Mayor's favourites" are determined to make the village great again even without the Mayor's presence, secretly clinging onto the hope that the Mayor would be proud of them when they do come back. Everything seemed optimistic until blood was spilled in a cold and quiet night.
Amid the deserted street illuminated by the moon and flickering street lights, you spotted something drifting in the cold wind. It was an advertisement covered with shoes prints for an opened job position as a 'general assistance', it stated the job would be offered in some village named Wildville that no one could possibly hear about before. The stated pay was clearly way higher than what you should be getting judging on the listed job description, you were even provided with accommodation. It could be a scam, but what is the fun in that?
Your eyes stopped at the eye-catching colorful font on top of the job advertisement: "We need your help!!! Let's make Wildville great again!!!"
The story sets in a world inhabited by anthropomorphic animal characters. The story took inspiration from Animal Crossing( I never get to play 
) but has nothing to do with it at the same time, the story sets in an independent universe. The storyline and atmosphere could resemble Night In The Woods. In short, the story focuses more on looking into the mysteries behind the death of a villager, the disappearance of Mayor, and lastly on discovering 'the truth'.
There are two alternatives for the opening depending on the timeline of choice. Either detectives are involved or commoners working as assistants, depending on preferences.
