After the second battle of Hoover Dam, the NCR annexed New Vegas and eventually the Mojave Wasteland, organizing the territory into the New Vegas Territory.
Years pass, NCR citizens and immigrants made their way into the Mojave to start anew while Mojave residents lived under the banner of the NCR. Some adjusted, such as those in the New Vegas area. The remaning two families still held onto their casinos and The Strip was a popular tourist destination.
Freeside was becoming a more livable space with the Kings, Followers of the Apocalypse, and NCR providing aid for the locals and squatters. Considerable aid was also given to North Vegas and Westside but since the members of these communities were now citizens they had to pay taxes. Many couldn’t afford to pay taxes and the new NVPD had to evict them.
Outside Vegas, the military presence has increased and all the communities are now enveloped by the NCR. Similar to Goodsprings, distant towns and homesteads saw an exodus as the residents couldn't afford the tax burden, leading to an influx of migration from California to start new homesteads and occupy the towns. Many of the native mojave residents didn't like the Californians who have never lived in a town in the middle of nowhere with a gecko trying to bite you while getting water. They were too confined with security and would even jump at the sight of a radroach or a mantis nymph. But the towns expanded, such as Goodsprings, Primm, and Novac. The roads were somewhat safer and more independent caravans poured in with the Crimson Caravan now shut down after the Cassidy Caravans incident.
There remain autonomous communities within the mojave. The Boomers still occupy Nellis Air force base and have trade relations with the NCR. The Brotherhood remain in the Hidden Valley, patrolling the I-15 while searching the mojave for tech to salvage, staying out of NCR business. And the Followers of the Apocalypse remained in Old Mormon Fort, providing relief as best they could. Jacobstown was a home for the mutants of the mojave, but some still strayed.
The mojave is now a changed place and the fate of it now rests in the hands of its people.

This takes place in the year 2284, three years after the ending of Fallout NV. The NCR ends up being victorious and the the mojave becomes more 'civilized' you can say. As the players y'all will be living in New Vegas as the 6th state of the NCR. Your options are pretty much limitless however you are not allowed to play the courier, companions, or npc's. You can interact with the in-game npc's however. If you need a clear understanding of the ending I'm basing this off of, the video below should help you.
