Fantasy Wanted: Aspiring Anthropologists, Theoretical Physicists

RecAgenda

Double Luck
I'm looking for precision writers that would be interested in helping me out with a science-fiction-fantasy role play very similar in scope to the Stargate series. Scientists from a quasi-modern earth unravel the mysteries of quantum entanglement and string theory, creating the first inter-universal gate that allows them to travel from earth to a whole new world.

I've got most of the world and key characters constructed, aside from a few minor details. I'm looking to host a very in-depth role play universe drenched in allegorical reflection on current events. For those of you that don't know me (which might very well be anyone here...), I prefer the spice of "believability" when it comes to sci-fi. So I'm looking for authors that are dedicated to explaining their ideas and kicking around theories. However, to balance out the realistic drivel, the new world our explorers discover is actually one of fantasy (a fortiori: different universe, different laws).

Types of authors I would like to step to the front of the line: people with a keen interest in any of the following... anthropology, archaeology, military history and strategy, theoretical physics (or physics in general), chemistry, theology, angelology/demonology, economics. I'm hoping that covers a wide range of interests (like I said, I love in-depth worlds).

For those that are worried about the size and scope of what I'm imagining... DO NOT WORRY! I am not the type to go information-overload on people (I actually detest that, myself). As explorers, our characters will actually start out setting foot in this world for the first time, so we will all learn as we progress through the narrative together. I'm not going to make a super long and stretched out post containing all the information like a damn encyclopedia (but for those of you that do like everything up front, I have a OneNote journal I'd be happy to share with you later on).

So... any takers?

@Iak Destler and @Esbilon, thanks for your interest! My big question for you two is: What types of characters would you prefer to play as members of the expedition team?

To give you a rough idea of how this team is comprised... roughly one hundred individuals of a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities, and skills have been handpicked by the corporation running this program. About half of the team are private military employed by the company, five are paramilitary specialists from another organization that were the first to step through and scout out the arrival point, and the rest are either scientists (doctors, professors, etc.), each bringing something unique to the table, and engineers tasked with setting up and running a base camp beyond the gate.

@Esbilon, I'd like to get you with later, if you don't mind, to work out some plausible explanation for how such a gate would be possible (if you think you'd be able to help me with that - I'm only our military expert with a respect for science).
