this is NOT first come, first serve. i'm asking applicants to be 18+, advanced literate, and have the time to post at least once a week. a love for plotting and character development is appreciated.
story
The small town of Home isnβt well known, and it certainly isnβt bolded on any maps youβll find, but itβs where our story takes place. Like Home, our characters arenβt well-known either- even in their small community. THE OUTCAST lives with parents that would rather pretend their dead, THE NERD is sheltered so much that they donβt know much of the real world, and THE MUTE...well, theyβre just trying to make it through the school year while their single dad worries over his wedding planning business. At least when summer rolls around their brother will be home.
So what happens when these extraordinarily unnotable teens find themselves quite literally falling into another dimension? Will they band together to save this βother worldβ from its evil ruler and rescue its kindnapped rightful queen? Or will they separate and never make it back to their home dimension...
From a narrator note, I have an entire plot skeleton planned out. All I have to do is come up with details which, hopefully, we can do together. I'll be playing the mute, meaning the outcast and nerd are open at this time, and if all goes well I'll be holding auditions for more characters as the plot develops.
The outcast and nerd are open to interpretation, and can be any sexuality and gender identity. For reference: the mute will identify as non-binary.

We start in class. The nerd is taking notes by themself, the mute is late, and the outcast is somehow later than them- which is how they wind up being stuck together on a group project. None of them want to be in each otherβs presence for one reason or another, but regardless they meet after school in the interest of getting the project done as soon as possible.
Shenanigans ensue.

the nerd
they're from one of the richest families in town; their mansion sits up in the hills with a beautiful view of the valley, but they've never gotten to see it in person. they're too wrapped in their studying and overprotective parents to ever bother leaving their boundaries. and yet, for whatever reason, they're genuienly kind. did someone say pushover?
the outcast
they're pissed. they're grunge. they're dangerous and they know it, and so does everyone else. stay out of their way or you'll be stuffed in your locker until the janitor stumbles upon you after hours. they're also lonely, though. they have a family that ignores them and zero hope of ever making something of themselves- but ask them about it and you're dead.
