This thread is going to get a lot of hate, I can feel it. But I need to share my opinions somewhere, and what better place to do it than the internet, where you (Kind of) stay anonymous?
Sooooo..... Bronies. just the name is enough to get somebody revved up and ready to hate. I'm one of those people. here are my 3 problems with bronies:
Problem #1- Ponifying - Have you ever looked up fan-art of your favorite piece of media on google, and found OVERWHELMING amounts of ponyfied art? yeah, I have. It's incredibly annoying to me as an artist, because they're leeching off of other's ideas and making it 'their own', if you can even call it that. Just the other day I looked up "Pokémon Fan Art" and almost the whole thing was Ponies. FRIKKIN' PONIES. It's actually hard to find fan-art of your favorite thing now, because of this genre of 'art' is too lazy. the only time you can find purely art of that fandom is when the fandom is very large, like Undertale or Overwatch.
Problem #2- Certain Memes - This is an unpopular opinion, but I like memes. i searched "Animal Memes" a few years ago, and found a shit ton of these memes: "Oh Look a Pony! Now your day is RUINED! I'm just sitting there thinking to myself, "Yeah it is, but it wouldn't be if you rubbed it in my face." I'm not normally pissed off by bronies- they can do what they want - but these types of memes are just ridiculous. also, another meme i found: "STOP HATING ON BRONIES" and my response was: "If you want me to stop, then stop forcing me to watch the show." Which segways perfectly into my next, and final, problem.
Problem #3- Forcing the Show on People - If we don't like it, we don't like it. just because i don't like something you like, does not give you the right to stop being my friend. i have lost TONS of friends over not liking the show, and the whole "Just because i don't like something you like" thing goes for every fandom that gets hate- but bronies are terrible at following that rule. I was hanging out with my friend, and he asked me: "Who's you're favorite pony?" i said: "I don't watch that show." He forced me to watch it, unfortunately there was a marathon on at the time. i told him i didn't like it, and he got MAD. i interrupted him in the middle of his rant and stated, "Just because i don't like it doesn't mean i hate it." It didn't work, he left and drove off.
So bronies, before you say "Not all bronies" or "Welcome to the Internet", i will say two things: "Yes all bronies" and "The internet is not your playground. other people use it."
Pls don't hurt meh!
