Personality
Description: Addam looks as if he's lived much longer than he actually has. The scars across his body tell a story of a life of constant fighting, his eyes are filled with a cynicism only a knight of his standing could have, and he carries himself with confidence. But this is simply his outward appearance. In reality, Addam is a kind, compassionate soul. He holds true to the values of honor and justice his mentor taught him, and always seeks to do good whenever he can. That being said, he can be easily manipulated this way, as well as one other problem he has. You see, Addam had never had a stable father figure, and this has led him to desperately seek one. So any male authority figure can easily manipulate Addam and get him to do almost anything if they make him feel as if he's finally accepted.
Biography
Description: Ser Addam Brightwall was simply born as Addam, in a small farming village somewhere in Galar. The boy never knew his true father, as he abandoned his mother before Addam was even born. As such, Addam was mostly raised by his step-father, the local blacksmith. He wasn't a bad man, by any means. He just wasn't a man of strong affection. As such, Addam was left wanting for a loving father figure, which came in the form of Ser Robert of Brightwall, a respected knight. The man saw potential in Addam, and so when the boy was twelve years old, Robert made him his personal squire, and from there, Addam's destiny was sealed. Finally, he had a father figure, someone who loved and respected him. Over the next six years, Addam trained under Robert, and proved to be a natural for the life of a knight. It soon came time for him to be knighted. On the day of his eighteenth birthday, the two headed to the capital for Addam to be knighted...only for the two to be attacked on the road by assassin's. Vastly outnumbered, Robert gave Addam his sword, and a letter confirming that Addam was now a knight, knighting the man in the spot, before telling his protege to run. Reluctantly, Addam fled, leaving his mentor to be killed. This event has haunted Addam ever since, and he will likely never forgive himself...

From there, Addam followed in Robert's footsteps, travelling Galar and participating in various tourneys in the hopes of living up to his mentor's legacy. It was during a tourney in the capital itself that Addam performed so well, with so much courage and determination, that the King himself recognized the young knight's talents, and assigned him to personally guard his daughter, Princess Anastasia. It was...quite the jump for Addam, going from sleeping in the dirt and in grimey taverns to guarding a princess, but he grew into it, and he found himself growing close to Anastasia herself, even discovering he had feelings for her, despite believing that not only would she never want to marry someone of common birth, but that the kingdom itself wouldn't accept such a scandal.

Addam was not present at the Hunt, and was unable to stop her from eating the Golden Fruit. Anastasia insisted he stay in Galar, and even then, he was called on by the Wings of Valor to fight at the Batt!e of Ewhaz Hills. Once again, he failed the person that mattered the most to him, and Addam is determined to not fail Anastasia again.

Armor: Traditional plate armor, made to be a bit lighter and more comfortable at the expense of protection. A tabard is worn over the breastplate with the Galar royal family's crest emblazoned on it.

Sword: Dubbed "Talon," the sword was a parting gift from Robert, and is an absolute beauty. Forged using magic, it's incredibly durable, and rarely needs to be sharpened.

Crossbow: Nothing special. Just for whenever he'd need it.

Description:
Raven is a very chipper individual who is almost never down. She has a very deep love for music and her go to for entertaining herself or others is singing whether or not that annoys them. Unfortunately Raven's upbeat nature can get a bit tiring although she never seems to notice. Raven seems to dislike any sort of argument and will usually fall silent when reprimanded. She is a lonely soul who seems to be searching above all for a place where she can be comfortable and belong. Unfortunately due to a curse that makes it impossible for her to speak without rhyming in some way most people get tired of her companionship quite quickly. The only times she seems to get annoyed is when she needs to find ways to speak around her curse as she has to think of herself any rhyme she speaks, making her speech patterns quite repetitive as she tends to reuse rhymes. Raven still carries a few mannerisms from when she was a corvid, she is quite attracted to any sort of shiny object making her a bit of a packrat. Except instead of actually useful objects Raven's extra travel bag is normally full of shiny stones or discarded scraps of not rusty metals. Raven doesn't steal to satisfy her shiny obsession. Raven likes to feel useful and helpful

Biography
Description:
Raven was born as a crow which lived around one of the outlying villages in the nation of Galar. As a bird Raven had a fascination with the human phenomena of music. In her specific village there was a group of minstrels that would stop in her town quite often. Every time the minstrels stopped in the town Raven would be there listening to them. She wanted to be among these musicians, bringing fun and entertainment to the people of the town. Of course being a bird that was impossible. Until one day when Raven was flying around the farmlands that were near her village she came across a fox stuck in a trap set up by the owner of the farm. At first Raven thought nothing of this and was going to continue on her way when the animal called out to her. The fox claimed to be a magician in the form of an animal and claimed to give Raven something in return. The bird wasn't sure at first but eventually caved into temptation, not truly believing the fox but releasing him anyway on the off chance he was telling the truth.

It turned out that the fox was telling the truth, and he gave Raven a single wish. Raven of course wanted to be a human that could spread music and joy throughout the land. Her wish was granted but with a single twist. Raven could sing all she wanted, of course all of her songs came out as some unknown language that sounded melodious but had little discernible lyrics in them, her voice was quite pleasant to listen to as she sang. These songs were not normal songs, they were magic chants that had odd effects on the audience, and unfortunately every time she spoke normally Raven had to work a rhyme into her speech. Hindering Raven's ability to communicate and making it so that she never truly fit in. The singing group that Raven wished to join rejected her as her songs seemed to have odd affects on the people listening to her.

Raven became a drifter, she eventually learned how to mix her chants up so much that they no longer had their intended effects, but due to her inability to explain her curse or really any sort of way to explain herself. She did gain a bit of a reputation on the rare occurrences where she used her chants in their intended magical uses, being known as the Ever-rhyming Singer or introducing herself as Raven the Craven. Raven's uses of healing magic has brought her into situations where she has been used to heal a few individuals of high repute and fame if they happen to be taken ill or injured and she is nearby. Making it so that the Ever-Rhyming singer is a name known as gifted and very useful healer. Though not everyone believes that she exists or that she is truly cursed to rhyme forever.

Magic Affinity: Musical

Spells & Abilities: Chants(The spells that Raven can cast are all called Chants. She can only cast one chant at once and needs to focus and sing the song. If she is interrupted the song may fail. If she sings too much she temporarily loses her voice).

Chant of Health: The Chant of Health is a simple healing spell which does just that. It heals wounds, of course there is a set limit that it can heal. The Chant of Health can also cure diseases and poisons. If a wound is too great they'll be left to their fate.

Chant of Strength: The Chant of Strength increases the physical strength of any nearby allies. The Chant of Strength also reinvigorates allies that listen to it. The Chant of Strength unfortunately doesn't increase the power of other magicians. The chant gives hustle to muscle.

Chant of Peace: The Chant of Peace pacifies and calms down any who listen to it. The effects of the song do not last all that long and those pacified by it will quickly become aggressive again if not dealt with either peacefully or violently. If one feels rage this chant makes them disengage.

Chant of Pain: The Chant of Pain causes pain to any enemy that listens to it. The pain that this spell casts is not always the same and can be better or worse depending on how much of the song someone hears or how loud Raven is singing. The pain can go from a stubbed toe to a migraine. Of course the pain isn't actual damage and just because someone feels like they've broken their leg doesn't mean they actually have. The Chant of pain causes Physical Strain.

Chant of Fear: Any enemy who hears this chant will feel pure fear, the feeling of fear only lasts as long as Raven can sing for, and exceptionally brave individuals can resist this magic. This chant causes fear to all who hear.

Raven may learn more chants as the story goes along.

Weapons & Equipment:
Raven carries a lute that was given to her upon transformation at all times.

Just because Raven has to rhyme whenever she talks doesn't mean every word she says has to rhyme or that her rhymes have to make sense per say. She can pair any two words together and she can speak so long as it creates a rhyme.

Raven has been searching for a way to undo her curse for a long time now, even trying to track down the magician who initially changed her, with no luck.

Asha is at her core, a woman of integrity and strength. Where others may waver on their convictions or their faith, she doubles down and reminds herself that sticking to her ideals and beliefs when faced with temptation will only make her stronger.

Religion has been a guiding force in Asha’s life, and while she is the High Priestess, she knows that there are other factors at work in the world beside the divinity, She accepts things that she and her fellow mortals must do themselves. She isn’t the type to go around preaching and trying to convert people or shame them for their beliefs either, her only goal is to ensure the gods continue to support the people of Bashuri and that her people feel connected to those gods.

When interacting with others, Asha is almost always formal. She has a calm air about her as she carries herself with great dignity and unshakable confidence. That confidence is never so overbearing though that it would seem to be arrogance. She is kind, generous, and protective over those she holds dear. Her compassion for others is the only thing that rivals her faith.

Biography::

Orphaned at birth, Asha’bellanar named herself when she turned four years old. It was a name she felt belonged to a woman that would travel far and have great adventures.That wondrous idea didn’t last long though. By the time she was 10 Asha had been in more trouble with the law enforcement of Fortia than she could count on her fingers and toes combined. She was a thief, an arson, a con, whatever earned her money she did. Once she got older she turned to even more risky business like smuggling and eventually sex work. As a young adult with no real prospects there was very little she could do in the way of legal work, but one thing Asha did do was tend to animals. Creatures on the streets like herself were her only friends and she tended to their wounds, or fed them from her already empty plate. She learned early in life how to interact with even the most aggressive or scared creature and make it her friend. So while she did spend many rainy nights wandering alleyways and consuming addictive substances, she did find some joy in her hobby.

Eventually her skill with animals was noticed by a shady figure and while he wasn’t keen on paying for her talents with coins, he did offer Asha a place to live and call home. This “home” she became part of was a collection of undesirables, each with a skill or talent that could make them some money if applied properly. However all they received was a bit of food and a leash around their necks in the form of powders or drinks. Asha spent many of her days traveling with this group in a blurry haze and the only time she wasn’t as high was when she was putting her animal timing skills to use to subdue beasts to be sold on the black market. It wasn’t how she wanted to live her life, but it kept her feed and numb to the pain of the world. She was content to carry on this way, but one night she had a dream of a lion that chased her away from a hunt, driving her to a cliff where she fell. The fall was calming though, freeing even.
The next time the group stopped they were in an open field with a nearby cliff. She paid no mind to the location, they were here on a hunt for a Griffin of all things. Their encounter with the creature was costly, but they managed to weaken the beast and surround it. All seemed to be going as planned until the majestic creature beat its wings and created a powerful gust of wind that nearly blew everyone away. Asha felt that freeing feeling again and it purged the drugs from her mind long enough for her to make a decision that would change her life. While her “friends” were all trying to find their balance again, Asha rushed forward and freed the creature, then began to shout and shoo it away. Without warning the beast grabbed her in its talons just as it took off flying towards the cliff and dive bombing towards the beach below.

Her dream seemed to come true in some fashion and that was enough to make her change her life around. Asha stuck with the Griffin and decided she needed a fresh start. Bashuri was where the 20 year old chose to go and on the back of her griffin she flew there in no time. Her arrival to the nation was spotted by the High Priestess at the time and the woman was shocked. She had dreamt of a winged beast arriving for months now and here it was with a young outsider in tow. Asha’bellanar and the priestess greeted one another and became fast friends, but when her griffin seemed to dislike the lands of the savannah, Asha was unsure what to do. Rather than break the bond they shared the priestess offered Asha a deal ,of course she was skeptical of it though. She promised to teach Asha summoning magic so that she may summon her Griffin to her side whenever she missed him, but in exchange Asha would have to stay and learn all that the Priestess had to teach, not just the single spell. With great hesitation she agreed and the two began practicing. In a week she was able to perform the spell, having summoned objects to her side with ease. Asha created a binding seal for her and the griffin and sent the creature on its way home.

After that she had to fulfill her end of the bargain. The priestess explained her dreams to Asha and how being here in Bashuri was her fate, her destiny. Here she could leave behind her sinful past and demons and start anew. So in the years to come Asha devoted herself to being a new person and giving thanks to Bahru who she credited with her sudden change in lifestyle. She learned and perfected her summoning magic, joined the church, and even became an official citizen of Bashuri. For once she had a home and she loved it.

When the High Priestess was nearing the end of her life, the only mother figure Asha had ever known, she told the young elf to go. Travel the world one more time, bond with more creatures, and then come back to take her place. Become the next High Priestess and protect Bashuri as Bahru meant for her to. Asha’bellanar believed this to be her calling, her true destiny so she set out without hesitation to do as her god and her mother wanted her to do. With the help of her Griffin she traveled the world over and met fearsome creatures that she befriended through acts of kindness and love. From the wild and diverse lands of Ixtal to the Frozen mountains of Sveljord, she found one creature wherever she went. Then she returned home and was met with despair. She was now High Priestess, but at the cost of her mother’s life. After days and weeks of mourning and weeping she finally assumed the mantle and embraced her new role. Time and time again she lifted the people and kept them happy while trying to find a way to solve many of Bashuri’s problems. After much consideration she decided to leave Bashuri on a mission of diplomacy to find someone outside of her home that may be able to help her.

Galar, rival to the kingdom of Fortia was the first and only place that she ventured to. On the back of her Griffin she flew across the sea to the capital city in the attempt to gain an audience with the leaders of the country. She knew of course that some outsider would have a hard time so she spent days meeting with nobles and wealthy people that may help her. That was when she met Elesis Crownguard of the Crownguard family. The Paladin helped Asha gain entry to the palace and meet with the leaders of Galar. She requested their aid in strengthening Bashuri, promising an ally should they choose to help the growing nation. She left on a positive note, hoping that she had made a memorable mark on the Galarians. She was thankful to Elesis and promised the woman that if she ever needed assistance in the future, she could always find a friend in Bashuri.

Personality
Minoru is outwardly cold and detached. He doesn’t seem friendly, an impression cemented by his unparalleled honesty. He never lies or tells half-truths, sometimes hurting feelings. He claims “bleeding hearts” cause problems, citing Anastasia’s error as the most recent example. He takes great pride in his accomplishments over the years, holds himself and others to a high standard, and is overprotective of his sword. Strong and silent, he secretly craves company and is happy to travel with others, though he will probably never admit it.

Adding to Minoru’s static nature is a reluctance to compromise. It’s not the most difficult thing to do, but convincing him to deviate from the intended path without good reason makes him uncomfortable. His very traditional upbringing left him somewhat narrow-minded, as he believes people and their motives are static; expect skepticism when people promise to change.

Biography
Born to the Red Lotus clan, Minoru spent his early life in their secluded village of Akiyama. For his clan—which has its roots among the lower class—most boys and a few exceptional girls would train in the arts of stealth, subterfuge, and martial arts. Once training was complete, each student had their performance graded objectively. A title was then appended to his or her surname according to the highest score. The five common titles are:
  • Kanchō - spy,
  • Teisatsu - scout,
  • Kishu - surprise attacker,
  • Konran - agitator,
  • Majutsu-shi (or “Majutsushi”) - magician

Minoru excelled in martial arts and assassination techniques, earning him the title “Kishu”. Following selection, those bearing this title are required to learn one final martial art: Lilac Crane, a style devised to counter magicians with a small degree of magic and excellent reflexes. He became an expert at this over the years and soon employed it when the Red Lotus clan was hired to turn the tide of various territorial conflicts in other regions of Nakashikita, so balance could be maintained.

Seven years ago, a grievous offense led to severe unrest among the clans. In a wanton grab for power, a sorcerer from the Viper clan seized the Red Lotus’ prized treasure: Onigui, a blade forged to combat ancient evils. Using every resource he could, Minoru pursued his mark throughout Viper territory and ultimately severed his head with Onigui. For this great deed and the slaughter of several prominent Viper figures—which led to the Vipers’ downfall—Minoru was given the title “Black Petal”, a token of great distinction for a Red Lotus assassin that had last been given 70 years ago.

But the story doesn’t end there...
Three years later, word spread of a female warrior from the west roaming Nakashikita. She was in pursuit of a fugitive wizard who had fled to the quiet, pristine forests. Spies disguised as travelers relayed this information to the Red Lotus clan. Fearing history would repeat itself, they sent Minoru to offer his services. He was amazed the foreigner, Elesis, wanted this wizard captured, not killed. Disregarding his usual qualms about keeping enemies alive, he promised to rendezvous with her in seven days. Sure enough, on the end of the seventh day, he returned with an unconscious mage slung over his shoulder.

Impressed with his work and lacking a partner savvy with stealth tactics, Elesis offered Minoru a position among the Wings of Valor, an exclusive team with members across the world. His village’s leaders gave their blessing, allowing a shinobi to make a difference on the world stage for the first time in centuries. The village elders once again brought out Onigui, entrusting it to Minoru in hopes of reuniting it with its original sheath at some point during his travels.

  • Spell parry - At crucial times, users can channel energy to parry spell projectiles such as magic missiles and firebolts. The effectiveness depends on their reflexes.
  • Barrier breaker - The caster can deliver a focused strike with his or her bare hand, which can pierce small magic barriers. Useful in assassinations versus mages.
  • Magic vision - A bit of focus is all it takes for true Lilac Crane masters to see magic auras radiating from people or items. A mage might be invisible, but never truly hidden from people like Minoru.

Weapons & Equipment:
  • Onigui - An enchanted katana forged with the help of ancient priests for hunting creatures of the dark. When magic power is channeled through the sword, it turns the user transparent—but NOT invisible. Local legend has it that the original sheath was lost and will offer greater powers when reunited with Onigui.
  • Kunai - Sharp climbing tools that can be used for fighting or even small digging jobs. Often mistook for throwing daggers.
  • Kaginawa - A grappling hook on a rope. Not much of interest here, or so it appears.
  • Metsubushi - hollowed-out eggshells filled with finely crushed red pepper and powdered glass.
  • Light armor - Gauntlets, greaves, and a helmet protect his forearms, shins, and head, respectively.

  • Dremnime: He could care less about her association with a lich, but her awkwardness and unorthodox experiments rubbed him the wrong way, making their relationship tepid at best.
  • Myung-Hwa: Her subtlety, calm nature, level of control, and willingness to kill for her villagers all strike a good chord with Minoru. On top of that, their shared fondness for tea and skills that compliment one another make them natural partners for ambushes.
  • Addam: Minoru thinks an exceptionally kind heart and unflinching devotion to one person can make even a strong man vulnerable. For that reason, he keeps a healthy distance from Addam.
  • Aenvhir: Minoru favors and relates to those who rise to the top through beating all odds and proving their talent. He holds Aenvhir in high regard
  • Elesis: When they first met, things were lukewarm, a simple matter of contractor and client. She showed the reclusive Minoru and many of his clan, those Fortian soldiers who invaded when he was a child didn’t represent all outsiders. For that, he has an unspoken gratitude.

He is always looking for the one true lord to pledge full loyalty to, often looking for key traits such as skill and leadership. But this is not something he is proud of, and will always call himself a ‘False Knight ’..... He does however have an almost complete loyalty to his current leader, and will not betray them.... even when given the opportunity to. Following a code his family goes by, the code being ‘No surrender unless absolutely necessary.... fight till your last breath’. On the outside, he is mostly shown as a sadistic, taking great pleasure when either killing a foe or slicing off limbs in battle. “My past is nothing special...... my childhood is what most would expect from a middle class background in Fortia. So there is no need to speak of that..... but I will tell you something in my earlier years of my adulthood. Back when I was 19...... I knew I was not supposed to be out at night due to the danger of being outside at this time..... but I was young and naive, so I ignored it. What made matters worse is that I decided to use a alleyway as a shortcut to get home quicker.... and that’s when I was ambushed by five men. They tried to steal what I had, and I tried to put up a fight, but being unarmed when fighting against five opponents, saying that I defeated them would be far from the truth. I however, was saved by an strange man in a cloak, using a kind of dark magic in order to kill those assailants of mine with no remorse. Even when only seeing them for a couple of seconds..... I still remember what they look like, and those cold empty eyes looking right at me, before the stranger left. This is where I was first inspired by the darkness, and changed to fit the appearance of my savior. As the years go by, I joined the Fortian army and soon, became a Warden at age 25.”

“It was when a few months later I was tasked with assaulting an Galarian fort, and given a sum of troops to work with. Along with the other two Wardens, we managed to successfully enter the fort, and that was when it happened. Someone from the fort, a female Knight named Elesis called out her challenge to the leader of the assault to a duel. I accepted her request, since taking out their strongest here may hinder all hope and leave no more resistance in the fort. How wrong I was...... the duel was a tough battle, but in the end, I was left with a sword aimed at my throat, ready for the end of my story. But...... it did not arrive, for she had given me mercy..... out of all the things she could have done, she gave me MERCY....! I couldn’t accept it in my head at that time, and even then, I still cannot believe why someone would spare me, a person who killed her people, yet still left alive. I couldn’t accept this, because it goes against my family code, which is to fight to your final breath with no surrender, and my honor no longer be the same back home. I called out to her as she walked away, telling my beliefs, and asked her to finished the job. But she had another idea, for she had given me the chance to join her, and for some reason, I had accepted. Maybe it was because I found the person to pledge full loyalty to, or was it because of my honor. Either way, I still joined the Galarian forces, but I do not think myself as a Warden anymore, if anything, I am a false knight now, for leaving my people in order to join another. But now, I will make sure no one hurt my new allies now, for I will keep my end of the bargain and make sure no one gets hurt in the process..... even if it means killing myself just to save one person.”

Spells & Abilities:
  • (Active) Bulwark Stance: a defensive style that is activated when entering a crouching position and hiding behind his shield. He is able to use two moves, Bulwark Slash / Bulwark Counter. Bulwark Slash allows him to do a heavy slash from the right, his right arm and sword glowing orange in the process, and is capable of dealing lots of damage if landed and can go through an enemy’s guard, but is slow and easily able to be parried if the opponent is paying attention. Bulwark Counter allows him to counter an attack by flipping his opponent over him before slashing at their fallen body, but has no use against those who use ranged/magical based attacks.
  • (Passive) Regular stance: In normal stance, he uses a combination of sword slices and shield bashes in order to use mostly offensive style of fighting his foes.
  • (Active) Sinister Shield: by sacrificing some of his health, he is able to temporarily give an ally a ‘shield’ over their body, which is a golden aura located on top of the ally’s skin and act as a ‘shield’ that blocks damage. It only lasts for 30 seconds and can break if damaged enough.
  • (Passive) Healing ward: By going into Bulwark stance, he is capable of slowly healing his wounds on his body. This however can be interrupted by attacking him with a heavy attack in this stance, stopping his healing for ten seconds.
  • (Active) Inspire: Inspire affect range is 15 ft in a circle around him, and it allows allies to deal more damage to opponents and attack faster. This lasts up to 20 seconds, and it slows Vortiger down until the spell runs out or is interrupted.
  • (Active) Rasalhague: When activated, he grants all allies in a 30 ft radius a temporary ‘Shield’ over their body. Unlike Sinister shield, it does not reduce his health, and works in a area of effect, just like his inspire. It also replenishes any shield that may have been depleted every 7 seconds, and the spell lasts for 21 seconds.
  • (Passive Buildup, requires activation once full) Revenge: Revenge is the most strongest spell he has. It passively builds up in battle, but increases its build up when facing an superior opponent or outnumbered in battle. His main way of building it up is by blocking attacks. Once full, he will be enveloped in a golden glow and pushes nearby enemies onto the ground, and gains a temporary golden aura over his body that protects him from harm, and gains an attack boost during Revenge. The golden aura over his body can be broken, and leave him vulnerable to permanent damage. Revenge lasts for 15 seconds.

  • Truth and Lie: A duo of both a Bastard sword and a kite shield, Truth is his sword which who show those in combat that they are still a mortal and can be killed. Lie is his shield that will make any attack aimed to kill a lie, but must be used properly or face the consequences. These two weapons have been passed down his family line, and it’s his job to use them in order to prove his worth of using these weapons in battle.
