Unicorn
You lived on a ranch up near the mountains with your grandparents after your parents passing. You had just left high school and you decided to help out on the ranch/farm with your grandparents. You wanted your own horse instead of taking care of all the other horses that weren't one of your own. You wanted one to call "mine".
After a week or so, you went into the mountains and found a creature that had the posture of a horse; it was just much larger than the average horse at the ranch. It was white from head to hooves. It was actually gorgeous. Except it had a long horn upon its forehead that was the shape of an alicorn. You being a bit of a fantasy person, this was hard to believe. Or was this just a dream come true?
The Unicorn actually ran up to you on a flat part in the plains. It followed you back to the ranch, unknowingly. You tried to hide it from your grandparents, that lasted a little while. Until they did eventually find your friend. But its powers were much more powerful than its looks. When the bullies near the ranch came to find you, you were protected.
