Carter regarded the person he'd chosen to speak too carefully, he was a few seconds away from calling it a lost cause before he felt someone run into him. His anger spiked; not only was he annoyed at Addison for choosing Ryan, but there were alot of people here and this wasn't the first time he'd been run into. And he was being ignored.

Turning away from the keg stand girl, he opened his mouth, ready to snap on whoever'd run into him when Adi's voice hit his ears and he recognized the girl standing in front of him. His expression softened some, but only a little. Lifting the cup to his lips that he'd filled with straight whiskey, he quirked a brow in her direction, trying not to sound bitter as he asked, "What happened to Ryan?"

As he lowered the cup though, he spotted the blonde talking to a female by the door, just as some other poor girl got shoved. Oh, this was turning into quite the shitshow, and if it didn't get shut down soon someone might actually die. Instinctively, he reached for Adi and pulled her closer, as though protecting her. But from what, he wasn't sure yet. "What in the fuck is going on." He muttered, mostly to himself.

Glancing down at Adi, he nodded in response to her request. "Come on. We can at least get out of this shit." He placed her in front of him and started towards the front yard, pausing on the grass to spin her to face him again. "You want to go home? Or..."

Ryan had no idea why Alyssa was here. Sure, she knew where he lived from the one or two times she'd been here (had it been more? At this point in time, he wasn't sure) but why was she here now? He hadn't invited her to this party, and the look on her face told him that she felt utterly betrayed. But he'd made it clear they weren't serious, hadn't he? Hadn't he told her they were just hooking up? Fuck, he wasn't sure of anything anymore.

"Alyssa..." He started again, but she cut him off, going into some tear-filled, sarcastic tangent that simultaneously made him feel bad and pissed off at the same time. He kept trying to speak but she kept coming back with more, until she dropped a bomb that literally caused his entire world to implode.

"You're what?" He asked her flatly, taking her by the arm and dragging her further away from the doorway, as though that would make her words less real or at least not heard by the other people around them. "Is it... is it..." He couldn't even get the words out though. His eyes darted around, needing someone to help him.

He spotted Kris on the swing with some guy, and then he grabbed Alyssa's arm again, moving both of them closer to the pair. His younger sister was smoking a joint, but at this point in time, he didn't care. "Kris, I-" He stopped, mouth opening and closing. He'd forgotten how to speak.

"Well, aren't you the gentleman." Kris smirked at him as he handed the joint over to her. She inspected it first, then placed it between her lips and lit the end. She inhaled, her eyes half closing as she held the smoke within her lungs for a few seconds before releasing it in a steady stream. She coughed some, then handed the joint back to Zeke for him to take a turn. She knew who Carter was, as he was practically part of the family. And hot, of course.

"How do you know Carter?" Kris leaned back, lifting one leg to tuck underneath of her as she turned towards Zeke. He seemed to have an epiphany in that moment, recognizing her, and she tilted her head some as she thought about it. "Riiiiiight. I thought you looked familiar." Kris had barely passed that class, same with most of her others. It wasn't that she was dumb, she just chose not to apply herself alot.

Fun fact, that had definitely not been her junior year, but she let that comment slide. She would have said something else about it, as she remembered now that he'd been dating Ash, when her brother forced his way over. "What?" She snapped at him when he seemed to forget how to speak, looking back and forth between him and the pretty girl he'd brought over. "Do I know you?"

Alexandra hadn't expected to have a fantastic time at this party, but maybe now things could actually turn out okay. Apparently, Kat had never told Izzy about having a sister at all, which led Alexandra to wonder just how close the pair had been, if she kept secrets like that and then refused the very beautiful gift he'd gotten her. She could feel the weight of the necklace hanging on her chest, and it brought another small smile to her face.

"Together for a bit?" Alexandra questioned, even as he dismissed the question. "Being alone can be boring." She agreed. "I know how that feels. Katherine only became my step sister a short time ago, but as you can probably tell, we don't get along." Alexandra shrugged, trying to appear like the fact didn't bother her. And mostly, it didn't, but there were times where Alexandra wished that they did get along. Only no one knew about that.

Alexandra didn't get a chance to say more when someone bumped into Izzy, and by extension, her. Looking around Izzy, Alexandra's eyes narrowed when she saw Kat. "Don't you ever get tired of my leftovers?" The girl asked, alluding to a past event that Alexandra thought was best buried. Narrowing her eyes, she disentangled from Izzy and glared at her sister. "Not when you leave prime rib on the plate." She snapped back.

"I think you need to stop." Alexandra felt a sudden surge of protectiveness towards Izzy, though maybe he needed protection from both siblings. "Take your drunk ass somewhere else. It's not my fault you shot him down. You didn't even tell him you had a sister! Must not have meant too much to you, hmm, Kat? How's that supposed to make someone feel?"

Kat called her easy, and Alexandra had had enough. But before she could say or do anything, Kat shoved her towards the door. Alexandra stumbled, catching herself on the doorframe partly and someone else. Pushing herself forward, she drew back and slapped her sister across the face, hard.

Contact had been made.

Finn was certain he was about to have to fend off an attack, of what nature he wasn’t certain, when Drake’s eyes widened and he leaned towards Finn with a purpose. When Drake reached out for his shoulder, Finn’s hand lifted instinctively to push him off, but his muscles stilled at the boy’s words. His cat? The kid just wanted to meet his cat, and for some reason felt the need to keep that a secret. Finn was half sure that he was on the receiving end of another strange pickup line, but he genuinely unable to tell where Drake was involved. He had a feeling that was a normal feeling one had around this kid.

β€œI’m sorry your brother won’t let you have a cat,” Finn replied sincerely. He, too, really liked cats and would be devastated having to live somewhere or with someone where they weren’t allowed. And then, because his mother and father had raised a polite young man, β€œOf course you can.” He couldn’t think of a situation in which he would be bringing this boy home, to meet his cats of all things, but instead of voicing those thoughts he instead added, β€œYou can meet them both.”

Having gotten his confirmation that Drake would be accompanying him, in the strangest way possible of course, on his search he offered no other words besides a soft, β€œThank you.” He didn’t know what Drake thought he would do if someone decided they really wanted to see Finn hurt, but he found it endearing that the boy would even think to do something. He’d always believed in guardian angels, and while this one was a little more strange than he’d anticipated- he’d roll with it.

Finn led the two of them away from the wall and through the crowd of people. His goal had been to make it to the front door and out into the lawn, but an idea struck him before he could make it halfway there. β€œOh!” he exclaimed, turning in place abruptly, only barely managing to stay in Drake’s line of sight as he did so. β€œI had an idea.” he added quickly as he walked off again, this time in the direction of the staircase.

He’d been struck with the idea, as they were walking, that Phoebe sometimes disappeared to the roof of their parent’s home late at night; she’d claimed that it was to watch the stars, but they both knew it was simply to avoid being caught doing whatever troublesome thing she was up to that week. When he went to retrieve her from these Southside events, he usually found her in a dark corner somewhere with her strange little cards and even stranger little friends. Given the fact that Drake had said she’d more or less vanished from the party meant that there was a likely chance she was up here. That or she had gone home and he was really wasting his time here.

Finding an empty bedroom was a difficult task, Finn quickly learned. He was glad more than ever for his charming smile and quick reflexes when he had the luck of stumbling upon not one, but two occupied bedrooms in a row. Muttering rapid apologies and quickly pulling the door shut, he moved onto what appeared to be the final room on this side of the house. He was overwhelmingly relieved when, upon opening the door, he found it to be empty. He felt bad for just a moment, sneaking into someone’s room- but the feeling was short lived as he knew that he wasn’t here to go through belongings and invade the owner’s privacy. All he wanted was their window, which was thankfully accessible.

His plan was a simple one. He’d climb out of the window, find his way onto the roof, and see if his sister was there. He could already hear sounds coming from the roof now that he was closer to the window- talking, a faint hissing sound- and was he was nearly sure he’d be able to find his sister up there. He unlocked and pushed open the window before he sat on the ledge and carefully swung his legs out. He was sure that his plan was going just fine- that was, until the faint hissing noise suddenly got a little too close for comfort and he was greeted with a sharp, searing pain on the side of his head; stars began to dance across his vision and he was sure that he opened his mouth to say something before a momentary darkness overtook him.

Katherine | 18

Kat had wanted a fight and it was only partially due to the excessive amount of alcohol she'd consumed. Lucky for her, Alexandra was in a mood too, and just as she wished, the girl delivered a slap heard round the damn world. Part of her was pissed while the other part was kinda surprised that her sister could do something outside of whine and make others handle her dirty work. Her own hand flew up, touching the spot she'd been hit as it turned a reddish color. She wasted no time in pushing Alexandra towards the door again, this time making sure she actually landed on the porch before she lunged at her.

"You're such a bitch!" she yelled, not bothering to care about the other people present at the party or on the porch at all. Somehow she ended up knocking Alexandra down and was now on top of the girl. There was a lot of hair-pulling and hitting going on, Kat didn't even feel the scratch to the face at first. Thank you whatever the fuck was in that cup. Suddenly she was pushed off Alexandra and they both stumbled back to their feet, ready to keep at the fight. She had to give it to the preppy northsider for not backing down. As another hit connected with Kat's face she turned and spit out what little blood had pooled in her mouth.

She was about to return the favor when she felt someone yank her arm back, so she spun around to face whoever it was and deliver the blow to them with her instead. "Get the fuck off of me" she yelled, still unsure of who had grabbed her. Then came the loud pop followed by...paint? It fell down on them like rain and at first, that's what she assumed it was. The various colors gracing her skin said otherwise though and it kinda confused her for a moment, causing her drunk ass to forget the current fight but only for a split second. Whatever it was it had distracted the person who grabbed her because she was free from their grip, giving her enough time to waltz over and snatch the rather expensive jewelry from Alexandra's neck.

Addison | 22

Addison could see the irritated written all over Carter's face and while she couldn't be sure, she felt it was partly her fault. She shook her head at his comment which reeked of pettiness as soon as it came out of his mouth. His eyes darted towards the pair talking near the door and she rolled her eyes. "Apparently he has a girlfriend. I don't fucking know. I just-" her words were interrupted by the sound of chaos in the front and suddenly the tension between her and Carter didn't seem so important. There was some kind of fight or something going on and the night had clearly taken a wrong turn for more than just her.

She felt his arm wrap around her before leading her out of the house, just passed the drama that was occurring. Was that Kat? Jesus. She didn't have time to worry about anyone else's shit. He spun her around and at the question she nodded, seeing Ryan on the porch with the mystery girl. She was almost certain they made eye contact but she looked away too quickly to tell. "Yeah. Can you drive?" she asked before heading for his vehicle. She just wanted to get out of here, she needed to and she knew that he would take her.

When they pulled up to her house, she thanked him for the ride but something stopped her from exiting the car. Maybe it was the drinks again or the annoyance that Ryan ditched her for the other girl. Maybe it was that Carter had once again come to her rescue when she asked for a ride home or maybe it was just the sexual attraction she couldn't deny. Whatever it was, she leaned over and made a move, pressing her lips against his. As she climbed over the center console and onto his lap her lips traveled to his neck and she knew all too well that it was leading to another night like before but she didn't care..

Mason

Dean was sick, he had no idea where his brother was, he smelled like alcohol, and he had successfully finished burning whatever bridge was left with Kat. It had been quite a night, and Mason was fucking done. So he had gotten Dean up and scooped up Ari, the little girl wrapping her arms around his neck and falling back asleep against his shoulder. There was no way he was leaving either of them here, and he had every plan to just take Dean and Ari back home and pass out. Even if Dean and him weren't still together, it wasn't like he had stopped caring, and Mason wouldn't have felt right if he left her at the O'Reilly's or took her back to her mom's.

So the trio was on their way out, pushing through the party with Mason in the lead, Ari safely tucked in his arms. He managed to shove his way to the front door and no sooner had the dysfunctional, broken family made their way onto the front porch than all hell seemed to break fucking loose. He was standing there for a moment in silence as Kat and some blonde bitch started arguing, and then the bitch slapped her and then-- fuck, Kat was going to kill her, and none of the fuckers standing around were stepping up.

"Fuck." He muttered, and then shoved Ari into Dean's arms before jumping down the stairs to grab Kat. He managed to pull her off, but then her fist turned towards him and Mason didn't react in time. And fuck, that girl could hit. He could feel the crunch of his nose when her fist connected, and his grip loosened on her enough for Kat to get away. Mason's hand went to his face and he touched his nose, but when he pulled it away his hand was... red and blue?

Mason was confused, and then he looked up and saw paint everywhere. All over him, all over Kat, all over everything. His confusion only lasted a few seconds before he saw Kat making her way back to the blonde.

Fuck.

Fuck yeah, her evil plan was working. Sure, it might attract cops, but she was certain she could get away in time. At least, as long as no one decided it’d be real funny to get her in trouble again. Fireworks were illegal, and she was pretty sure tying paint cans to them didn’t make it any better at all. Perhaps she could claim artistic freedom? Phoebe wasn’t sure how that would go down in court, but she was at least a little sure it wouldn’t be taken well. Hopefully Kai would be okay though, she thought. He was a good kid, although a bit of an extreme pyro at times. She couldn’t say she hasn’t thought of taking his lighter before, but she’d never tell him that. β€œIt is the best idea, isn’t it?” She grinned, shaking herself out of her thoughts. Damn, she was going down a path that would’ve lead her too far down becoming a Finn.

Suddenly she heard a loud thud, and raised her eyebrows. That sounded like… was someone hit? She hadn’t really thought in depth about that happening, but she did know it was a risk. She just thought people would be smart enough to dodge. Maybe she was expecting too much from drunk people. β€œKai, come on.” She motioned for him to follow and rushed off to the sound, ducking out of the way of a rogue paint can before her eyes landed on the figure of her brother. Oh, speak of the devil. β€œFinn.” She sighed. β€œI thought you were smart.” Phoebe remarked, her voice sounding almost disappointed. She was sure he would be okay, so she didn’t feel too bad. She turned to Kai and shook her head.

β€œLet’s check his pockets for loose change then I’ll take him home in a few minutes. Sound good?” She asked, adjusting her large bag. She compared the size of it to her brother and shook her head again. Nope, wouldn’t fit in there. Maybe she could leave him there? At least until she could find people to help her carry him out to the car. At least he’d look fabulous during it, it looked almost like he had decided to dye his hair pink possibly due to a midlife crisis, but went about it all wrong. Yeah, she’d just leave him there for now. Maybe he’d appreciate the free dye-job, kinda.

Daniela "Dean" De Angelo

tumblr_inline_ox3l53l1h81rifr4k_540.gif

Dean was too sick to argue with Mason and just went with the flow as he picked up Air and dragged them both out of there. It seemed like Mason bathed in alcohol as the scent that came off him only made her sicker. 'Just a little bit longer hold on' Dean thought to herself as she tried desperately to keep the contexts of her stomach inside. They made it to the porch and she just had to hold on a little bit longer, but of course, the fates had other plans. As soon as she and Mason stepped onto the porch there was a commotion and suddenly before her eyes, there were two girls that were in a screaming match one of them slapped the others. The next thing she knew Mason shoved Ari who was now wide awake and not happy into her arms as he went to break up the two fighting girls. She watched in horror as Kat punched Mason right in the nose and red liquid seeped out. Seeing that her nausea was suddenly put on hold as with one hand she held onto Ari and the other she quickly reached out and pulled Mason to her with all her might to her.

"What is wrong with you!" Dean exclaimed angrily as of course he just had to break up the fight that Kat was involved with. Dean never liked kat even when she was good friends with Mason. She was jealous of their relationship and there was no doubt in her mind that she wanted to get with Mason. The thought of it made her blood boil but she put it into the back of her mind as there were more important things happening. Her anger was short-lived as it then turned to concern, but not before her expression turned to surprise as her she felt wetness splash on her and she soon was it was paint. 'fan-fucking-tastic what else could go wrong' Dean thought to herself, but her own questioned was answered the nausea came back in full force and this time there was no way she could keep it down. Shoving her daughter back into Mason's arms, she rushed to a bush beside the porch and bent over as she threw up all the contents of her stomach. 'This is going to be a long night' was Dean's thoughts as she continued to throw up into the bush.

Alyssa let herself be dragged to the side of the porch by Ryan, but her patience was wearing thin. His word vomit asking if it was his, followed by his attempts to talk to his sister done it. Yanking her arm free, she scoffed at the poor attempts to shift blame or deny what she had told him.

"You know what?, it was a mistake coming here. I should have said nothing"

Turning and beginning to walk away she said over her shoulder "Lose my number and don't bother getting in touch"
Staring him up and down, she scoffed again as if she found him lacking. Despite being hurt by the turn of events, she was filled with a fierce independence.
Who cared if she was doing this on her own, she had finished college anyway. She would find a job and support herself and the baby, she did not need anything else.

Yanking a bracelet that had been a gift from him, She threw it over her shoulder saying he could re-gift it since it had probably been given to god knows how many girls before her. She was through with being a push over, she was not doing it anymore. She started thinking about what to do now, she could find a place easily enough and her savings could stretch until she got a job.

Slamming the gate shut, she did not even look over her shoulder as she walked away from the house. Her resolve to move on firm as she did so

Malia sighed as her phone buzzed on the counter next to her, she knew who it was without looking. It was no doubt her cousin bugging her about going to the crazy party next door. When he had initially asked her, she didn’t want to go, but he begged her saying he wanted to introduce her to his best friend and his siblings who he considered family. And while she understood that, she didn’t want to have those introductions at a wild party.

The neighborhood her cousin lived in, that Malia also now lived in, was a lot like her old neighborhood, minus the strong gang presence. Her cousin hadn’t explained what she was walking into before she came, and now here she was, in another place where she would have plenty of opportunity to fuck up. The whole reason for moving to Chicago with TK, was to get her out of her hood and away from the things that would get her caught up and into trouble.

Malia walked to the window of the apartment and stared out at the house next door where the party was happening. It was a mess over there, people fighting in the front yard, people puking in the bushes, some kids on the roof with what looked like fireworks, and there was even a couple damn near having sex on the side of the house. She shook her head, knowing that if she went over there she would get in trouble. All it would take was one obnoxious drunk person bumping into her, or god forbid worse, and she would lose her cool.

She heard her phone buzz once again and knew she had to make a decision. Malia would either have to go make an appearance at the party or stay home and hear her cousin complain about it the next day. When her phone buzzed a third time, she knew how serious TK was about her showing up and realized there was no way to get out of going. She quickly grabbed her phone, the house key her cousin had recently given her, and slid on an old pair of Vans that she didn’t mind getting messed up before heading out the door.

After locking the apartment door behind her, Malia put her hair up in a bun as she walked down the 3 flights of stairs to exit the building. She had no idea how bad this would go, but she wanted to be ready for whatever would come. When she finally stepped out on the sidewalk in front of the apartments, she took a deep breath and headed toward the house. When she was in front of the house's fence, she stopped at the sound of screaming across the street.

Turning, Malia watched as two guys were cheering on their friend who was peeing on a Lexus across the street. β€œWhere the hell am I?” she thought as she stepped forward without looking where she was going. Next thing she knew, she was colliding wit a blonde girl in front of her. β€œWhat the HELL!” Malia screamed, her first response one of anger. β€œDo you not open your eyes when you walk?” she continued. She stepped back and began wiping her shirt, doing a small check to make sure she was ok before looking up at the girl in front of her. Upon first glance, it was clear the girl was crying, and Malia instantly felt bad. β€œWait...I’m sorry. It’s not that big of a deal. I...I mean were both fine right...no harm no foul.” she stammered trying to make the girl relax.

Malia was not usually one to apologize, but she hated when people cried, she always felt awkward around crying people because she never knew how to react or what to say. She shoved her hands in her pockets and stood there not knowing what to say, just waiting for the girl to speak. This was definitely not how she expected her arrival to the party to go.

Most people didn't work on the weekends, but Ava wasn't most people... and she was also apparently the only one in the office that didn't have a family to spend the weekend with, so she'd begrudgingly agreed to go to the office on an early Sunday morning to meet the repair guy. Plus, she didn't want to deal with the leaking plumbing underneath the sink another day. Chances were she would've been at the company on a Sunday either way, but having to actually meet someone had almost driven her to calling in sick.

The night before, Ava had stayed up late tinkering with some electronics at her home. Aside from the programming work that she did at work, Ava also spent her time playing with machines and trying to either repair them, or putting things together. Last night had been spent wildly programming a series of lights to go off in a certain order -- a relatively medial task, but one that she liked doing just for the sake of doing every now and again. Following that, she'd stayed up for another couple hours playing video games -- shooters, more specifically. Ava loved listening to teenage boys cussing her out over microphone as she destroyed them.

After that wild night she had, it was amazing that Ava had slept in -- instead, she'd only slept for a few hours, and then she was up and at 'em. Getting dressed, and heading to work. She ended up walking through the front doors at six am exactly and had logged into her computer to do some work. Granted, Ava was far ahead of where she needed to be, but she enjoyed the work that she did.

And so, she sank into her computer chair, long legs stretched out underneath her desk, half slouching out of the chair. Her red hair was a wild mess, and she wore a hoodie and jeans, with the hood pulled up part way. She then set to work, quickly getting lost in the many lines of code and losing track of the time.

The night before had just been a cruel reminder to Mason about why he didn't like parties very much. Kat had been so focused on the fight at hand, that he was able to grab Dean and Ari and leave, even with blood dripping down his face. The last thing he had wanted was for Dean to get involved. He had marched home, covered in a mixture of paint, blood, and alcohol, and let Dean and Ari fall asleep on the mattress in his bedroom. Then, he'd headed back to the party to find Drake -- covered in pink paint and rambling about some mystery doctor that got knocked out by a paint can -- and dragged his brother home.

Being the obvious gentleman he was, Mason fell asleep on the futon in the living room with Drake. Sleeping with his brother wasn't something he particularly liked -- Drake had a habit of kneeing him in the side all night -- but sleeping with his ex-girlfriend was a stretch, even for him. Sure, ever since they had broken up, the two had been... on and off again, and still uh... messed around every now and again. Hell, they'd slept together just a few weeks before this. Every time Mason went to see Dean, he tried to promise himself that he wouldn't kiss her, he wouldn't make a move. Mason just wanted to move on, not be stuck in the past.

... But every time he saw Dean, something snapped in him, and he forgot those promises. And he was sucked right back into being a shy little fourteen-year-old boy with a huge crush on a pretty girl.

But last night, he had been determined, so he stayed in the bed with Drake where he wouldn't run the risk of, like, knocking Dean up again or something. Imagine that. The last thing either of them needed was another kid -- not that he regretted Ari in the least. That little girl was everything to him and in some ways, Mason liked to think she had saved his life. Gave him something to live for, a goal to aim for. She made Mason a better person, just because he wanted to be the best that he could for her.

Mason had ended up falling asleep rather late thanks to Drake staying up late into the night, rambling about whatever his drugged up brain came up with next. He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't worried about his baby brother and his addictions, but what was Mason supposed to do? It wasn't like he could tell Drake to stop, and he didn't have the time or energy to follow Drake around and chaperone him. He was... tired. So, so tired... and finally the brothers fell asleep.

The next morning, Mason had woken up sweaty with a headache. Drake had ended up diagonally across the mattress, which left his legs stretched out over Mason's. He'd sat up, blinking bleary-eyed and rubbing a hand at his eyes as he looked over at his brother with pink paint dried in his hair. The sheets were a mess of pink, blue, and a dash of red from his nose. It must've started bleeding again in the middle of the night, and Mason rubbed a hand at his nose to see if it still was. Luckily, this time, his hand came away with only dried paint on it. Thank god. Kat could pack a solid punch, and his face still ached.

He climbed out of the bed, shoving Drake's legs off of him, and made his way into the bathroom. Wincing from the pain in his head, he fumbled through the prescription bottles on the sink's edge. One of those had to help with headaches, right? His head throbbed, making it harder to read the different names on the bottles, until he finally just took one and popped it in his mouth, easily swallowing it dry. He placed the other back beside the others, his gaze drifting over the handful of prescription bottles for Drake. How many different medications had they tried, how many different combinations, desperately searching for something that helped him?

Mason ran a hand over his face, pushing black hair out of his eyes as he looked into the mirror. His nose was a dark blue and purple, and blood was dried on his upper lip. There was blue paint splattered across his face and arms, and staining his hair. He'd gotten hot in the middle of the night and took off his t-shirt, so at least part of his body was cleared of paint.

He turned the water on, watching as it first ran brown before turning clear. Mason ran his hands under the lukewarm water -- the hot water had been finicky for awhile, but he didn't mind right now. He leaned over the sink, splashing water on his face and in his hair, scrubbing vigorously to clear the paint from his skin.

Once he was cleaned, he grabbed a towel and dried his face and arms off before he tossed the towel into the heap of clothes in the corner of the tiny bathroom, and then stepped back out into the living room. He walked over into the kitchen, opening the freezer to see if there was anything he could put on his nose to try and numb the pain.

[div class=wrapper][div class=scroll]
[div class=textbox] Finn was painfully aware of several things, as he tried to open his eyes the next morning. Firstly, his alarm hadn’t been the thing to wake him up, so he was likely already late for work. Secondly, his head was throbbing as if he had decided to try and become one with a brick wall the night before. Lastly, he was sure that he was completely and utterly hungover. He laid where he was, silently thinking of the night previous, trying to come up with a number of drinks he’d had; maybe a reason why he’d bothered drinking in the first place. It wasn’t like him to drink to excess, especially on a work night, so what had he been doing? And where was he? Instead of an answer, he was met with a constant throbbing pain on the side of his head that impeded him from thinking too much. Cursing himself for making such an irresponsible choice that led him to his current situation, he curled deeper into the bed he hoped was his own and let himself drift back off to sleep again. He’d worry about everything else later.

When he awoke next, it wasn’t of his own volition, but because of the loud pinging noise of a phone’s notification. His massive headache, bordering on a migraine, had passed somewhat, easing into a constant squeezing sensation that was none too pleasant. He was more than content to ignore the noise, assuming it was just his boss wondering where he was, and go back to sleep, but when his phone pinged again he pried open his eyes in frustration. Upon opening his eyes, he was met with the medium brown of his comforter and the deep red of the accent wall his bed was pushed against. He sighed audibly in relief that he was, in fact, in his own bedroom, and slowly rolled over to face his nightstand. He found his phone laying there plugged in on the charger, covered with a pink post-it note that carried his sister's familiar scrawl along the surface.

Hey Bro, sorry you kinda got knocked out due to unforeseen circumstances but don't worry!
The evildoers were (scribbled out words) apprehended! Okay, have a good day.
PS. It wasn't my fault, blame Kai.

So he'd been knocked out. That would explain the way he'd been struggling to remember the night previous- and the splitting headache he was suffering from; but what he didn't understand was why he had been knocked out in the first place, and by whom. Finn wasn't an aggressive man, nor was he confrontational- so what had he done to warrant being knocked out? And who was this Kai person he was supposed to be blaming? He supposed it would just be another one of the things about the Southside that he would never understand, at least until his headache subsided and he was able to think clearly again. Things were slowly making their way back to him one at a time, and he remembered some important things: his wallet, his car, his sister were all unknowns.

"Phoebe!" he yelled out abruptly, wanting to see if his younger sister was still in the house. The only reason he'd even gone out last night was to make sure that she had gotten home safely, so her absence would be the cherry on this already pitiful cake. It was clear from the note that she had at least been home at one point, but he knew from having shared a roof with the girl for her entire life that that fact surely didn't mean she was still in the area. He pushed himself into a sitting position and closed his eyes tightly as his head swarmed and he was struck with an overwhelming sense of nausea. His own voice rattled around inside of his head, and he swallowed hard past the pain and sickness. "Phoebe Lynn!" he called again, barely giving the girl a chance to respond if she even was in his home.

Not hearing a response right away, he glanced down at his phone to see if perhaps Phoebe had texted him. She hadn't, he quickly found, but he had received two missed calls from his boss, and two texts from a number he hadn't heard from in a long time. He knew that as a responsible adult he should contact his boss as soon as possible, but a sliver of excitement running down his spine at the new messages had him opening them first with hesitant fingers.

Daniela "Dean" De Angelo

tumblr_inline_o8pyfthBNg1tae3h3_250.gifv

Daniela was not perfect, in fact, she was far from it. Brining Ari to that party last night was stupid and she knew that but had done it anyway. Her punishment was that her stomach couldn't keep anything down and throughout the night she made multiple trips to the bathroom, throwing up each time. She had never gotten that sick before off drinking and maybe if Dean wasn't so hungover she would be able to see the logic behind her sudden sickness. All she could focus on was her daughter curled up to her side and the smell of Mason on his sheets. It is truly hard to get over someone when you keep ending up in their bed and maybe if she had stayed home she wouldn't have ended up in the place she keeps swearing off. Leaving Mason in the past was harder than she had ever imagined as when she took one step forwards, it would lead to ten steps back. He was her safe space and no matter how hard she tried at the end of the day she still ended up wrapped in his arms.

Sitting up she slowly unwrapped her daughter from her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead and she shakily got off the mattress that was on the floor. Her head was pounding and her stomach had still not made peace but there was nothing left to throw up. She probably looked like she had been hit by a train but she didn't care. As awful as she felt, Dean was determined to make it out of the apartment without seeing or speaking to Mason. There was something about him that made her heart skip a beat and even though he had burned her in the past she kept coming back to him. She knew that with him being injured that if she took one look at him like a magnet she would be pulled back in. Before she left the small messy room she contemplated brining her daughter but decided against it as she looked so peaceful and after the craziness last night Ariana needed sleep.

Praying that he was still asleep with his younger brother on the couch, Dean quietly opened the door and stuck her way out. Of course with her luck, he was up and was over by the freezer placing an icepack on his busted up nose. The apartment is so small there was nowhere else to look but at him and her heart ached for him. The little voice was screaming at her to leave. To walk right past him and out those doors, but Dean was weak.

"How's the nose?" Dean asked as she stood by the bedroom door with her arms crossed. Yep, she was screwed.

Mason

He'd managed to find an old bag of frozen peas deep in the old freezer. The peas were partially thawed and soft thanks to the shitty refrigerator, but it would work. Mason had just pressed the bag of peas against his nose, wincing as the cold pressed against his bruised skin, when the door to the bedroom opened. He turned to look, peas still pressed against his face, at Dean standing there. And he could've sworn that for a moment, he stopped breathing. Which was, of course, fucking stupid because why would he be left breathless by the mess that was Dean right now? She looked like she'd been hit by a truck, and then it had been put into reverse and backed over her.

The freezer door falling closed at least pulled him out of his reverie, and he broke eye contact with Dean. As she approached, Mason turned his back to the oven and leaned against it, one hand perching itself on the edge of the cool metal, while the other kept the bag pressed firmly against his nose. His dark gaze shifted to the ground in front of him -- anywhere but Dean's face, because he knew what would happen if he got stuck staring at her for too long.

"It's fine." His voice was short and to the point when she asked about his nose. That was the best way to deal with things, in his opinion -- blunt and to the point. Of course Mason knew that she was asking because maybe some part of her still cared for him, but... It was easier sometimes to keep things cold and harsh. No one wanted to stick around someone that was mean, so Mason had perfected it. Life had been easier when he had less people trying to peer in and see what was happening, or start asking questions, or pretending to care.

But then his gaze drifted over to her for just a second, and Mason was drawn into her gentle gaze, the way her soft expression even looked worried about him. And somewhere deep within the ice black heart that pumped in his chest, Mason felt the smallest hint of warmth, and fuck because he couldn't keep the attitude up, not to Dean, not when she had defended him last night against Kat, and not when she was... well, her. Mason could never stay mad at her -- no matter what she did, Mason knew he'd forgive her. She unknowingly had him wrapped around her finger.

Mason hated it.

"How are you?" This time, his expression was softer, his words holding more weight and holding a certain warmth to them as he spoke. On the bed, Drake stirred, so Mason lowered his voice. "Were you just really drunk?"

Katherine | 18

Katherine shifted in the bed, her body still sore from the previous night. She remembered most of what had happened and well, it wasn't pretty. She hadn't realized that the person she punched was Mason until she heard the screeching of Dean afterward. Followed promptly by her hurling in a nearby bush. Despite this, her focus had very much been on Alexandra as she snatched the chain from the girl's neck and threw out a few more nasty insults. The only thing that stopped her from lunging again? The sound of sirens nearby which was probably the product of an annoyed neighbor. She could not get arrested again. Her mother was already gonna kill her for the fight, she'd be lucky if she wasn't kicked out of the house for daring to hit precious Alexandra.

Mason had already left likely with Dean and Ari in tow so with no one else around she reluctantly took Izzy's offer for a ride. Unfortunately, since going home wasn't an option, she ended up at Izzy's place. Somewhere she hadn't been since their breakup. "Shit," she muttered as she finally managed to sit up. Looking down she noticed her skin was still covered in paint or whatever had rained down on the like they were in a fucking movie. She wasn't in her own clothes instead she wore what she assumed was a t-shirt of Izzy's since it was a little bit big on her.

She climbed out of the bed, her feet meeting the floor as she stood up. Too fast. God, she had a hangover from hell. She felt nauseous and knew she needed coffee and something to eat now or she'd be the one puking. She noticed the broken chain sitting on the nightstand beside her, the pendant somehow still connected to it and groaned. Walking out of the bedroom she laid eyes on Izzy. "Have you seen my phone?" she asked him simply. Maybe a good morning, thanks for saving me...or a fucking apology was more appropriate but it was Kat and she could barely look at him let alone apologize right now. Besides, she needed to call someone so she could get out of here.

Valerie | 19

Valerie, unlike some of her friends, had decided to skip out on the dumpster fire that the southside tried passing off as a party. She usually only attended those things when a friend dragged her along but this time she couldn't be bothered with it. Instead, she had stayed home getting her beauty sleep and thinking up ideas for her own party. Of course, she'd invite everyone. Even the strays from the other side of the bridge, if only for some drama. If there was one thing Valerie enjoyed it was mayhem. She was quite good at finding out secrets and she wouldn't hesitate to blackmail someone if needed. Her skills in sleuthing came second only to her revenge scheme talents.

"What do you think?" she questioned Jeremy after informing him of her party plans for the weekend. She had invited Jeremy over this morning to get his honest opinion. He was one of the few people she knew would be straight-up with her and he could throw one hell of a party together. It was a bonus that he was her oldest friend and probably the one she liked the most if she was being honest. She and Jeremy had met through their parents in typical rich kid fashion. Both families were members of the same country club and well, the rest was history. They got along instantly which was in part due to them being so similar. "I'm in the mood for some chaos," she added with a wicked grin.

She had her own place and didn't have to worry about parents so it was perfect for a party. Usually, she didn't invite anyone who didn't live on the northside or at least on the eastside but why not. She had a nice sized pool and could have food catered plus it wouldn't be hard to get a good amount of alcohol despite being underage. Perks of being rich was she could bribe whoever she wanted and if that didn't work, which it normally did, she had friends old enough. She pulled her phone out of her back pocket and rolled her eyes. "Where is Alexandra? I texted her hours ago," she complained out loud.

The night before was honestly just great. Just fantastic, except for one minor thing; her brother’s near-death experience. That was a bit of a mood killer. She had fun though- she got some money out of him and began planning how to get him home before she could get in trouble with the cops. She was sure he would have a stroke once he got up, hopefully not literally. After a few minutes of having watched that go down, she had dug through his pockets for money and paid some guys to help her get him down to the car. He was way too heavy for her, Phoebe found. She wished he was smaller so she could just carry him in her bag, like one of those weird-ass purse dogs she’s seen some Northside kids have. She never understood that, the poor dogs.

After having driven him home and getting him onto his bed with the help of the random paid henchmen, she dismissed them with the elegance only she could muster; a simple thank you and shooing them out of their home, driving them back to the Southside before getting McDonald’s using her brother’s money. She got extra to put in the fridge for him whenever he was hungry. Just a little β€œI’m sorry for almost killing you!” kind of compensation. Once she got home, she immediately devoured the food that she had gotten for herself before putting the rest- including Finn’s food- in the fridge before writing a note for her brother and going to bed, only to be woken up a few hours later by the sound of her older brother yelling her name. Oh no, he middle-named her. She groggily got up and went over by the dresser, picking up her megaphone and turning it on.

β€œWhat?!” She called out through it before turning it off and setting it back down in its spot. Phoebe would just go in anyway, she decided once she remembered he had a concussion. She thought that was it, but wasn’t 100% sure. Paint cans hit hard, apparently. Phoebe made her way to her brother’s room and gave a possibly over-friendly smile to the older sibling. β€œGood morning, sleeping beauty.” She greeted him cheerfully, going up to him with her arms folded over her chest. β€œLooks like you got plenty of re- what’s that on your arm?” Her eyes were drawn to the writing on his arm, her hand shooting out and taking hold. She lifted it carefully, observing. β€œOh, my.” She drawled out the β€˜oh,’ a mischievous grin taking over where the smile once was. β€œDid you get laid while you were looking for me?” She purred teasingly, raising her eyebrows in a mock surprise. Honestly, she doubted that was what happened, but she couldn’t resist. β€œWas it that cute guy following you around like a lost duck? I bet it was. When will I be invited to the wedding?” She almost let go of his arm when she noticed his phone, and she took hold of it before he could protest. Oh, who was it? β€œBooty Call?” She asked before actually looking at the text. Oh, Sam? The guy she hooked Finn up with through Tinder? She thought they stopped talking. Finn never really explained to her what happened, but she was sure it was some kind of falling-out over a minor thing. Well, minor in her mind. Finn never really argued, but could be passive aggressive to the point that none of his relationships lasted very long, despite Phoebe’s best attempts to set him up with someone compatible.

This would be good for him, she thought. β€œLet’s go.” She finally spoke after reading the text, stuffing the phone back in his hands. β€œI’ll drive you there! Get dressed, and I’ll start the car. Don’t leave him on read, okay?! Make sure you reply!” The tone of her voice was clear; she’d allow no protests. Running off, she did a quick clothing change and brush through of her hair, grabbing the car keys. Breakfast who? She didn’t know her yet.

Dean already regretted staying as his response to her question was cold and distant which made her heart sink in her chest. She knew that he wanted to move on and be done with her but deep down she still wanted to belive he still cared. Walking over she stopped near him as Mason had his back to her, gripping tightly to the stove and the cold pack of peas he had pressed to his nose. The idea that he wanted her back was stupid as of course he didn't as right now he couldn't even look at her. Before she could turn away though, Mason took a glace in her direction and his head seemed to freeze in place. The coldness in his face melted away. Confused at his sudden change of demeanor, but she did not question it. She only reveled in the fact that maybe just maybe he felt the same way she felt about him. How her heart skipped a beat when he peered into her blue eyes or how his deep voice sent shivers of delight down her spine.

When he had asked her how she was doing his voice matched his face as his tone was gentle and staring into his eyes was a dangerous game as it was easy for her to lose herself in them.

"I'm ok, better now," Dean replied in a soft, gentle tone that mimicked his own. Looking over she had heard Drake who was asleep on the couch move, so she closed the distance a little bit between her and Mason so they could speak more quietly as not to disturb his brother. Clearly her mind had other intentions other than trying to be quiet, as something about Mason brought out this other side of her. It has always been like this even when they first met, she wasn't herself around him. When he opened his mouth to speak again the words that he spoke were not something she thought he was going to say. He had asked her that if she was really just drunk and it confused the hell out of her. 'Like what the hell does that even mean' was Dean's thoughts as suddenly the spell between them was broken.

Taking a step back her, face hardened and she asked him what she thought to herself "Of course I was just drunk Mason, Like what does that even mean," Dean said defensively as she crossed her arms. For a second she believed it but then her brain started to rapidly fire and her hungover mind started to connect the dots. 'I'm not usually a lightweight...I can't remember the last time I got so sick from just having a beer and a couple of shots' ' Wait when was the last time I got my period...Oh my god, I craved blueberry muffins a few days ago and when I was pregnant with Ariana those were the only things I wanted to eat'

Dean's face went from confused, to realization, to shock, to horror, and then her face went blank. If Mason knew where her thoughts were going he would blow a gasket.

"I...I have to go. I'll pick Ariana up later tonight," Dean said absentmindedly as her mind was spinning in every direction. The only clear thought she had was 'Shit, Shit, Shit'.

[div class=textbox] Finn was busy reading over the text message that Samuel had sent him when his sister decided to suddenly make her appearance- via a megaphone, apparently. He cursed under his breath, nearly dropping his phone into his lap as a sudden sharp pain slammed through his skull at the loud noise. He'd been meaning to throw away the thing for ages now, but could never quite bring himself up to doing so; he really didn't want to start an argument with his little sister, and it was harmless.. for the most part. Except during times like these when every noise louder than a low speaking tone felt like it was ripping his brain into pieces. He'd never had a concussion before, never had been careless enough to injure himself like that before, so he wasn't sure- but it sure felt like he'd concussed himself. Especially if he'd been knocked out. He knew he should be going to the doctor, but also knew that he had a job and.. well, maybe a friend to go visit.

He flinched when Phoebe barged into his bedroom. The way she always opened doors a little too harshly, the way she stepped into a room just a bit too loudly was just a quirk of hers that she'd had since childhood; Finn had never minded it too much, he knew it was just his sister's way of making herself known, but god- today more than ever he wished she would just choose to silently roll around the house as she did as a young child. Why had he never noticed just how noisy his sister was? Had he actually gone partially deaf from all the noise? "Stop," he protested before she'd even opened her mouth, hanging his head a bit and looking up at her through the pieces of hair that fell into his eyes.

She, of course, didn't stop, but instead launched into an act of long-winded word vomit; during which she'd greeted him, drawn attention to his arm, assumed he'd somehow slept with someone, and then stolen his phone. Finn had sat still and silent the entire time, blinking when necessary and allowing her to go on her mini-rant. He was too tired, too nauseated, to do much else. "Did you feed my cats?" he asked, suddenly remembering the creatures when she shoved his phone back into his hands. She didn't even acknowledge that he had spoken; instead demanded that he get dressed and reply to his text message. She then left the room.

Finn took his time climbing out of bed and getting ready for the day; spending most of his time standing at the foot of his bed and allowing his head and stomach to remember how to stand upwards without causing him to vomit. He made a quick call to his place of employment first and explained the situation. He had never not shown up to work before, so he was relieved when they had given him a few days off to recover. He'd have to find time to go to the doctor's office soon, however, and get a note- just in case. It was only once that was taken care of, that he finally looked down at his arm- then the other arm- to see what it is that Phoebe had been yelling about. Instead of finding some crudely drawn picture or bloody gash as he had been expecting, he instead found pink paint scrawled across his skin; the paint was dried, chipped a bit in some places, but reminiscent of hastily drawn numbers. Confusion evident on his features, he flipped over the post-it that Phoebe had left him and slowly wrote down the numbers that were etched onto his skin. He'd worry about them later. With most of the items on his list taken care of, he made his way into his ensuite and took a quick shower.

He dried off and dressed a short time later, not bothering to look in the mirror as he finger-combed his hair. He was sure there was a gigantic knot on his head, a blooming bruise on the side of his face from what had to have been a wonderous fall; and he wasn't interested in seeing any of it. Plausible deniability at its finest. Finally feeling somewhat put together, he picked his phone back up from where he'd left it on his bed, pocketed the post-it note, and re-read the text message.

Come visit me,
As if they were close friends and Finn was simply going to a housewarming party. He shook his head at the audacity of the man he hadn't spoken to in months, and slowly typed out a response and sent it before he could change his mind. The two had never met in person, but they'd spent an obscene amount of time video calling each other in the past. Finn would have considered the man a close friend once upon a time, even more than that if the tension between the two was anything to go by. Except- things hadn't worked out, as they usually didn't where Finn and his love life were involved. Finn had been too irritated, too disappointed after everything was said and done, to try and contact Samuel again. Only now, Samuel was messaging him and was even in his own city. He knew that he shouldn't; knew that he was still upset over the situation, knew that he wasn't feeling well enough to think rationally.. but he felt that he also owed it to himself. So he went.

Finn pet his cats goodbye, slipped on his shoes, and headed to his car where Phoebe had been waiting for him. It pained him to see her behind the wheel of his own car, but he knew that he wasn't in the right state to drive himself. The car ride wasn't a long one; they actually lived on the edge of what was considered to be the Eastside, so driving to the Southside was a relatively quick affair. The car ride, though quick, was a bit tense. Finn tried asking his sister for details on exactly what had happened the night before, what some of her previous comments had meant, but was met with shakes of her head and snickers. It took him an alarming amount of restraint to bite his tongue and not lash out at the girl; he wasn't generally this short-tempered, but the pounding in his head was not making for a happy Finnegan.

"Go straight home, Phoebe. I'm serious." Finn said the moment Phoebe pulled the car up in front of the address that Sam had sent to his phone. "No joyrides. No friends over. Go. Home." She agreed, though he wasn't sure how sarcastic she was being, and he slid out of the car, gave her a final long look, and then watched her as she drove away. He then turned his attention to the apartment building he had been dropped off at. It was... well, it was certainly the Southside; crumbling brick and broken window panes galore. He headed to the floor that Sam had indicated in his text, ignoring the sketchy elevator in favor of the staircase, and slowly walked down the dim hallway until he found the right door. He hesitated for only a moment, took a slow breath to steady the pounding in his head and in his throat, and then lifted his hand and rapped on the door.

Her reaction left Mason with a familiar sense of worry swirling around in his gut. She was most definitely not alright, and that worried him -- even if he would never admit it. And Mason really didn't want Dean to leave, especially now that she had stepped closer to him, and she was so close... and all he really wanted to do was reach out and touch her, or wrap his arms around her. Something to let her know that everything would be alright, because that look of worry on her face...

"Dean, are you--"

And then there was pounding on one of the neighbor's doors. And as was normal and expectant of him, Mason couldn't concentrate on the conversation at hand -- not with that banging. Didn't that asshole know that there were kids in this building? And he should be at least a little more lenient and quieter than he was being. So, instead of turning all of his pent-up anger on the girl in front of him, Mason instead threw the frozen bag of peas onto the stove and shoved past Dean for the door.

He unlocked it and pulled it open, stepping into the hallway. His dark gaze looked one way... and then looked the other way, falling on the only person standing in the hallway at this ungodly hour. And as luck would have it, he looked like one of those prissy guys that had never even broken a fingernail in his life, and that just pissed Mason off more.

"What the fuck are you doing?" He snapped. "Did they never teach you how to fucking knock in whatever backwater prep school spit out your sorry ass?" If these were the kind of people that the new guy would be inviting over, then Mason didn't think he'd like the neighbor very much. "You knock once, okay?" To demonstrate, Mason slammed one fist against the wall. "Knock more, and I'll smash your fucking face into that door handle until you have no teeth left. Got it?"

Oh shit. Samuel's hands flew about as he adjusted his plants, making sure the vines were placed just right along one of the walls. It was a small apartment, but quickly overtaken by colorful beads, plants, curtains, and all sorts of trinkets he has been collecting over the years. Oh, and furniture of course. Necessities. He didn't really know what he was doing, but he knew he was doing it. He had sent a text to Finn a little earlier, asking if he wanted to come over. Maybe he sent it a little too early? Was it even a good idea to send it at all? They hadn't talked in so long, and the last time they did it didn't go well. Was he still mad? Samuel was a bit scared to find out. He was planning to bring his neighbor some cookies, but considering the state they were in when they came back the other night, he wasn't too sure of that being a good plan. Part of him wanted to know what happened, but the other part didn't want to get involved.

He had already gotten the steaks ready, and was pretty sure he overestimated how much either of them could eat. At least he'd have leftovers to give away later. Maybe he could give the steaks to his neighbors instead of cookies? Wait, but what if any of them were vegetarian? "Maybe I should ask?" He mumbled to himself, contemplating whether or not to take a poll as he stood over the stove. After a short moment, he shook himself out of it and started seasoning the meat and getting to work on the gravy. Did Finn like gravy? He wasn't sure. He checked over his recipes a couple of times, older recipes given to him by his parents. He wished he could thank them again, but was pretty sure that would be the fifth time, and perhaps that was overdoing it. Setting aside the two tubs of gravy- one regular and one white- he finished up the steaks and began plating them when he finally checked his phone. He must have gotten the text a while ago when he was being nitpicky about the appearance of his home. "Okay, Finn, what's your answer?" He took a deep breath, praying to whoever would listen that he wasn't just going to be blocked for even asking, then looked down at the message. Oh, okay. A better outcome than he expected, quite honestly. He sent a quick text back and pocketed his phone, turning back to the food.

Samuel placed the rest of the steaks in some tupperware and set aside the gravy, going into the bathroom to wash his hands. He waited for a moment after turning on the faucet and started scrubbing his hands and face, quickly drying off once he finished. He pinned up his dreads out of his face and adjusted his shirt, making sure he at least looked like he hadn't been up for the majority of the night last night. He was trying to decide whether or not to do this before, and was of course binging some Netflix shows until he fell asleep. That was probably one of his less pleasant habits, he thought. He turned to the living room, going over to a few of his plants to check in on them when he heard a commotion outside his door. Was that Finn? Was he finally here? He gave a wide grin and adjusted his collar, gathering himself for a moment. This was their first time meeting in real life, and he didn't want it to be a disaster. Samuel started for the door, but paused when he heard yelling. Um, uh oh. He winced a bit, his pacifist self immediately wanting to nope out of that, but he didn't want a fight to break out. Especially not outside his apartment! He walked over and opened the door just enough to shoot his arm out and wrap it around Finn's shoulders, poking his head out for a moment. "Ah, hey. Sorry 'bout the noise, man. I'll bring you some steak later as compensation, 'kay?" He spoke quickly, yanking Finn inside and shutting the door once he was done talking. Conflict wasn't his thing, that was for sure.

"Finn! Aren't you, uh, a sight for sore... eyes?" He spoke rather slowly, his voice going up in pitch a bit near the end as he took in the state this man was in. Samuel stared for a moment at Finn's hair and the injury on his head. "Huh, I thought I fell a lot. Also, did you try to get pink highlights or something?" He remarked, observing the injury for a moment. "Do you need an ice pack or anything? I can get that if you need while I get the steaks." It didn't look great. Samuel couldn't help but wonder exactly what happened to cause it, but he wasn't sure if Finn would be in the mood to recall a story that might be unpleasant.

Nate woke with a groan, feeling like he had no energy. God damn, those parties were good but never worth it or so he said. Pulling on a hoodie and some shorts, he made his way down the stairs, his stomach twisting and turning from being empty. He felt the familiar ache before scratching his arm, he started making his way downstairs, finding Jack looking like nothing was wrong. cursing his older brother for appearing to bounce back better Nate mumbled good morning before texting someone on his phone. Maybe it was the come down or he was feeling raw , he just needed them right now.

Mumbling a hello to Jack, he made his way outside going to the diner as his stomach led him like a hunting dog. Finishing the text he hit send as he pulled up his hood. Walking the short distance to the diner. Stepping inside as he text Jack to say he had some cash for the family fund. Like always, it was not explained where the money came from, only that he had the money to give.

Sitting down he gave an order of Sal's sandwich as he drank the crappy coffee put in front of him. He was waiting for a reply before he text another number with a simple message: I NEED ANOTHER HIT. hitting send, Nate looked through his wallet, a momentary panic setting in as he was unsure if he had the funds, but relaxed when he saw that he did have them. As he sat there, the usual feelings began to come back, useless and not like Jack or Ryan. Wincing and rubbing his arm, as the familiar pain shoots through it like it was taunting him.
