200 years ago the world died. Our home. That's what we do. We invent something new and wonderful. Something capable of solving world hunger, providing free power to everyone and removing pollution from the universe and weaponise it. Once we do that we simply have to test it and test it against people. Less than ten years after the invention of a cold fusion reactor that could produce orders of magnitude more power than was required to keep them running and China used it to instigate a war to take out the USA and secure their domination of the world but China's plan was discovered last minute and the USA launched its own weapons in retaliation. Its allies in Europe declared war on China's Ally, Russia and soon the earth was on fire. Before an hour had passed the earth was no more and all that was left was its colonies throughout the solar system. The colonies, now without the support of their patrons were now struggling to achieve anything more than basic necessities and ensure they could maintain order in their colonies.
Now, 200 years on from that day and the colonies have risen from their own foundations and are looking to recolonise their home but the colonies don't get along and any attempt to colonise alone will be met with hostility or sabotage and so an agreement was met that together they would establish a single colony to gather data and find out the state of the planet and what dangers they would need to look out for. They would pool their resources and send people to Earth to establish a beachhead. The Main contributors were the successor colonies of America, China, Russia, Europe and the United Kingdom, though many other colonies seem interested at this time and look to their own finances to see if they can afford to take part in this endeavour.
You will control a faction within this cooperative colony funded by one of the successor colonies and help the new colony grow while attempting to push your own agenda and the agenda of your overlord and undermine that of other colonies without letting your colony fall to the, as of yet, unknown dangers of earth.
